Massawe Jappani is not a new name to any radio fan. She’s one of the most celebrated female radio hosts (rightfully so). And so when she left Q FM in 2012, the outcry was warranted.

However, the super-gorgeous wasn’t hanging her mic and headphones as soon after she was back on the airwaves at her ‘new home’, Milele FM. It wasn’t long before her fan-base at the new station grew thanks to her sultry voice and alluring laughter that charms her listeners.

But when she goes home after her shift, Massawe is a loving wife to fellow distinguished journalist, Tom Jappani, and a doting mum to her two adorable daughters.

Khaligraph Jones is just that dude! Big and tough. And he makes gritty music to boot. That is why i like his music. He isn’t one of these fruity P.K chewing gum rappers being manufuctured these days. When the twerking bug bit, Kenya was taken by storm. Hundred of girls uploaded their twerk videos in a bid to get Uncle Chim’s attention. And because I am good at trend-spotting, i immediately new that this was the new black. And black is back! So I got a couple of good twerk videos from Maura Malanga to huddah Monroe’s to Shee Waruinge’s and I posted them.

The fad was born. And since then, it has grown. And I have supplied thirsty men with fodder for fapping frequently but it seems that it wasn’t only Kenyans who were sitting up and taking notice of the authentic African beauties dancing. Jamaican artists have begun to take notice. I do not go in for Dancehall music but a friend and colleague slid me this tip and I listen to as much as I could stomach and in the song, you can clearly hear N airobi twerkers being saluted.

Which song am I blabbering blisteringly about? Miley Cyrus Twerk And the artist that has taken notice of Nairobi’s twerkers is Elephant man. In the song, he makes reference to Nairobi on two occasions and though I know you are expected me to transcribe, no. Just no. Check out the song for yourself below:

Back in the day, back before I was old enough to go to Sarit Centre on my own (our househelp would accompany us), I was a little yob with a durag and godawful “bling bling”. But back then, life was simple. i was a mall rat and so were my friends. And it was duiring my simpler days that I met Prezzo. Back then, he was marketing his album “Naleta Action“.

I met him just as he was walking out of a shop that has since closed down called Press Play and I asked him for an autograph. I was a star struck yob and he an idol. He obliged. Since then, I have like him as a person. but enough fanboy prancing about. Back to the matter.
Back then, there was a click that ruled the roost: CMB. And in it, Prezzo ruled as the face and Feroze was the hype man. Feroze passed on sadly. But back then I thought they were the coolest thing since ice cubes. Brr!

TPF Judge and renowned music producer, Hermes Baraka better known as Hermy B decided it was time to show off his toys and best friends. And he has the right to show off his toys as he’s earned them, thanks to his hard work.

 Back in the day, Chris Kantai fondly known as Kantadda reigned supreme and the Kenyan entertainment scene was his Kingdom.

Kantai was shooting for the stars but landed on the moon with ‘Happy’  a song he recorded with STL .STL rose to international stardom but somewhere along the way, Kantai’s star burnt out.

But do not lose hope Kantai fans,Kantai is set to hook up with the illest female rapper Stella Mwangi once again and make beautiful music together.The rapper posted this that indicate that the duo will be back together,musically at least ‘Definitely gonna work something with STL – Stella Mwangi do it our way.’

Many comedians dabble in music for fun, and very few are serious musicians.  Often a single on a spoken-word comedy album is all the music you’ll get from a comedian.

We all know how a lethal lyricist Juliani is. At the same time we also know that Churchill can’t sing for nuts. However, recently they were brought together by Coast-based artistes in their single and made to sing.

Released earlier this week, the star-studded track featured music stars from the Coast and is already a hit on radio stations.

It’s safe to say that 2014 is the official comeback year, after Mr. Lenny and Bamzigi we have another comeback representing the gospel music industry.

Henrie Mutuku. After releasing ’Manzi Wa Maana’ Henrie took a hiatus from the music industry for a decade, yes a decade! She reveals that despite the fact that she has been away for so long it doesn’t mean that she stopped ministering; she has been doing God’s work away from the music industry.

If you are an ardent follower of local gospel music the  name Wangechi Mbogo is familiar. You know her from her hit songs such as Apewe Sifa,Yesu Jemedari and Shangwe.

With her enchanting voice she has managed to secure quite the following not only in Kenya but also othe international platform.You loved her in her other songs but i guarantee that you will love her more on her latest track ’Wewe Ni Mungu Wangu’ which means You are My God.

In the song Wangechi says that life I incredibly difficult but God gives her strength, when she falls God is always there to hold her like a baby.

She adds that He is her shield to protect her and her light to guide her.

They say real men wear pink. Pink is a girl colour and seeing pink on a man is like trying to stare at the sun with your eyes open. To certain members of the female species, if a man wears pink, it just makes it look like he has lost his masculinity.

Apart from of course the breast campaign, men who wear pink have also been associated with being gay. Besides, the new Oxford English Dictionary even defines pink to mean ‘of or associated with homosexuals’, as in ‘the pink pound’.

However, that’s just a theory, but there’s no doubt the pink outfit for men is now increasingly accepted as chic. Award-winning Gospel deejay, Mo, recently stepped out in a pink jacket and he looked that part. Take a look;

He has come out guns blazing with a track to address all the haters .The track is called ‘Get Money’ and is recorded with his boy Saint P

Speaking exclusively to Ghafla Jay A said that “With this track don’t expect a video, I threw it out there to address the haters but my next track, a collabo with a renowned international artist will have a massive sick video.”

Last year, celebrated songbird, Emmy Kosgei, was officially off the market. The lucky man? The General Overseer of Revival Assembly Church, Apostle Anselm Madubuko.

By and large, it was expected that the award-winning songstress will move to Nigeria to establish her home there since this is what all new brides do. While, Nigeria is a beautiful country and anyone would want to visit it, for Emmy, it’s a different story.

Yes, she may have set up her home there but that’s not her ultimate home because her heart is still wandering. She recently revealed where her eyes are set as her eternal home.

Yemi Eberechi Alade is an award-winning Nigerian afro pop/R&B artiste, song-writer, composer, actress and entertainer. She is popularly referred to as the “ghen ghen babe” and “the Yoruba-Ibo girl” by virtue of her electrifying stage-craft, music, edgy and un-matched style and her bi-tribal descent.

Yemi Alade has won numerous awards and competitions; like the Peak Talent Show in 2009 which gave her the platform to launch her mainstream musical career afterwards she returned to school and graduated with a degree in Geography from the University of Lagos in 2010. Yemi Alade teamed up with award-winning cinematographer Clarence Peters to create movie-like visuals for her international smash hit ‘Johnny’. The music video was released in March of 2014 to critical acclaim gaining over 60,000 Vevo views in a week.

She is currently touring and working on her debut album with is slated for a mid-2014 release.

Corine Onyango, host of Homeboyz Radio show the Jumpoff has been rather media shy of late and I can finally understand why. Not that she was ever one to court the camera lenses but of late she has become a straight ghost! Anyway, she has been on her grind doing what she loves doing and one of the activities she loves doing led her across Ghafla’s path.

Last night, while at “Industry Nite” at Carnivore, my colleague, the lad with the scoops, Vincent Omondi called me up and informed me that the lass with a sultry seductive voice was heavily pregnant. i told him I’d need pictures but today morning he informed me that before he could snap a couple of pictures, she had disappeared.

Understandable seeing as she, being an expectant mother has to get enough rest. But aye, Corine is pregnant. And so is Capital FM’s Amina. but you already knew that cos you read it at Ghafla first.

It is with a heavy, desolate heart that I have to inform you that this week’s Smirnoff Fiesta party, the most popular series of parties that Kenya has seen -in a long while- is postponed.

Why am i sad? Well, I am always down for a good party and when I hear one has been cancelled, a small part of me breaks off to go cry ( I do not cry so the parts of me that are sad break off, cry alone and then come back).

But fear not, the party will be back and on it’s return, it will be bigger and badder cos you know the recompense will be something major. And for now however, feel sad. because I know you had planned your outfit down to the socks. Just keep them clean for the rebound!

Controversial is a word that seems to stick to most music videos released this year with some seemingly being much worse than others – Candy n Candy’s whisper song? Have you ever watched a music video that was so sexually explicit you prayed right after hearing it?

Well, the video that accompanied Candy n Candy’s smash hit ‘Nyce And Slow’ serves in my opinion as the top most controversial video this year and recent times; with its subliminal message suggesting sex.

Anyhow, the song is doing so well on UK Reverb charts as it now stands second with more downloads than the leading hit, signs that it has become so popular that it’s being considered for nomination in the the 20th MTV Europe Music Awards.

The record label has already received an official cover-form from the organizing secretariat expressing interest in nominating the single as long as over 2000 listeners vote for its nomination reports The Star.

“All we are urging our fans is to vote highly for the song once it’s put up for voting this Friday. The song must amass 2000 or more votes in order to be nominated for the awards and we hope our fans will not let us down,” Joe Kariuki , CEO Candy n Candy said.
