Yesterday, Baba Ghafla dropped the biggest bomb to eplode onto the entertainment scene in recent months: J.B Masanduku had left his wife Tina Kagia for someone the scion of one of Kenya’s biggest political families, Ngina. In a twist of events, Tina Kagia has decided to break her silence in a veiled attempt at insulting Mista Majani for the piece.

The lass who was arguably one of the sexiest lasses on Kenyan radio took to social media to post her missive which I must say is rather cryptic because we aren’t sure whether it was a denial or an insult but either way, I figured I should share it:

Some peeps got a trash can where their brains shouldve been

For those of you still not aware of the low down, it is whispered (actually, nay, confirmed by Baba Ghafla in this article) that J.B Masanduku the popular former radio personality and comedian has left his heavily pregnant child and is currently shacking up at his girlfriend’s place as he gets himself back on his feet.

This is actually a sensitive issue given that Tina Kagia is heavily pregnant and so i have tried to keep this article devoid of The God’s Chosen Blogger element. Keep it Ghafla for more information as it unfolds.

Last weekend, Kenya’s biggest brands; Coca Cola, SuperSport, GoTV and DStv threw the biggest party in Kenya this year at the Machakos People’s Park, dubbed, #Brazil2Macha Fun-day.

Speaking to respected event organizer and media personality, Chris Kirwa, the 2-day event attracted a whopping 21,000 people for the Saturday event that went on till 4AM on Sunday. What stood out was not only the remarkable turnout but also the high-level security and organization at the event.

The Sunday leg took a back seat and was the very definition of a typical fun-day as both children and adults were entertained by the exciting line-up of Gospel artistes among them, DJ Mo, MC Njugush, Bahati, Gloria Muliro, Jimmy Gait, MC Jessy, Shiks Kapyenga and Mbuvi.

#Brazil2Macha Fun-day also had the blessings of Machakos Governor, Dr. Alfred Mutua, who was also in attendance with his wife.

The already has two singles out, ‘Upendo ‘ and ‘Beautiful’ which have all done well receiving great airplay and opening doors for this young artist both in business partnerships like the one with MobileSawa and a couple of top nominations.

Currently Chuchu is working on a long term project of getting her album out by mid next year though her current project is the release of her new single ”Naondoka” this week which is set to take the industry by storm.  Here is one of her new singles which demonstrate why the only way for the artist is up.

Mid last month, Gospel singer Willy Paul made his way back into the country after a 2-month music tour in the United States. And he didn’t come back empty-handed as he showed his fans what he’d reaped from the tour.

The 20-something Gospel star had nothing to hide as he openly rummaged through his wallet and counted his wad of hundred dollar bills. Asked what he would do with all the cash, all he said was that he was planning to splash the money on a project he’d been working on.

It wasn’t long before we finally got wind of the mysterious project.

Willy Paul splashed a considerable amount of his tour cash (apparently over Sh500,000) in making the video as well as spent t thousands on designer clothes, latest shoes (Air Jordan) and gold jewellery to make his video standout.

In what is looking like a bad episode of a Nigerian soap opera, JB Masanduku has left his young expectant wife for a politician’s daughter.

JB alleged that he left because “Tina is violent and selfish. Adding that; “The wedding was forced by her. Even if you look at our wedding photos, you’ll not see any member of my family attending.”

On her part, Tina chooses not to divulge any information, asking that her family should be left alone.

The trend-setting top Afro pop band Sauti Sol, will be among a few selected African stars who will be joining on stage previously announced performers including international artists.

Among them; French Montana, Miguel and Trey Songz, at the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards this weekend (7th June) in Durban, South Africa. MTV Base yesterday revealed that Sauti Sol will join the final acts added to the crazy talented line-up at the influential music awards ceremony.

This is also the first time for Sauti Sol to get nominated at the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA). Sauti Sol has been nominated in the Best Group Africa category alongside P-Square, Mi Casa, Big Nuz and Mafikizolo. Sauti Sol – previous winners of a Channel O Africa Music Video Awards among numerous local and international accolades, are set to release their third album “Live and Die in Africa” later this year.

Meanwhile, public voting for 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards continues online until midnight today. You can still vote for Sauti Sol (Kenya), Nominees (Best group) 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards by logging in HERE.

Holy Dave’s intensifying influence in the Gospel Hip-hop industry cannot be disputed.

He has played a major role in shaping the careers of household names such as Eko Dydda and Kelele Takatifu among others.

In 2010 his collaboration with Eko Dydda ‘Niko na Reason’ scooped the Groove Awards Hip-hop song of the Year award. In 2012 the Groove Awards Hip-hop category featured three of his songs; ‘Press on’ with Izzo, ‘Mara Hio Hio’ with Bantu and ‘Ni Msoh’ with Kelele Takatifu.

In 2014 the trend continues, after ‘Wannabe’ his recent collaboration with ‘Dee’ got nominated in the all so familiar Hip-hop category.

Currently Holy Dave is working on his new song titled ‘Milk and Honey’, produced by ‘Mgangez Kama Kawa’ and Leon Chege at Fullhouse Music. Away from music Holy Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Computer Science and an MBA in Strategic Management. Last year he attended Advanced Financial Modeling classes and is now a certified Investment Analyst.

The biggest Gospel Awards ceremony, Groove Awards, went down over the weekend after a much hyped series of tours around the country. Groove Awards 2014 was celebrated in style as the best in Gospel were recognized and awarded.

The 9^th annual Groove Awards ceremony saw the attendance of Cabinet Secretary for Devolution, Anne Waiguru and Dennis Itumbi who both came bearing gifts from the head of state. A total of Sh1 million was donated by the Pesident to all winners.

Meanwhile, the best female artist, Sarah K, and best male artist, Bahati, each took home Sh200,000 from the president, as well as a Samsung Galaxy S5 and Kshs. 20,000 worth of credit from Safaricom.

Away from that, former Crossover 101 host, Patrique Viyerrah, has sent a word of advice to all the winners admonishing them to keep the Gospel wheel moving.

He says;

“The post Groove Awards conversation needs to change. As i said, groove season sometimes create camps and if the conversation doing raoz are anything to go by, we have a looooooong way to go as a body of Christ… It’s never that serious. To all those who won, ain’t that you are better than those who didn’t, this was just your ordained time. To those who didn’t win, you being nominated just goes to show you are also top of the crème as far as your art is concerned. Now let’s go back to ministry and some love would do us some good…”

On Madaraka Day, a section of celebs congregated at Sunrise Estate, Imara Daima, which was dubbed Entertainment with Fun for Charity (EFC) for a basketball tournament.

This was an event like no other as celebs came out (some with their significant others) for the charity event which would see the takings go to charity. Whereas the entrance was free to enter, participants donated used clothes, food stuffs, donation money among others.

Sunday was just one of the tournaments as the celebs and their friends have decided that every now and then they will be hosting tournaments and the price money that the winner makes goes to a charity home of their own liking.
