You thought you’ve seen everything from Lupita? Think again.

The “12 Years A Slave” star is bringing Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s best-selling novel Americanah to the silver screen.

Earlier this year, Adichie hinted about something big she was working on with Nyong’o but didn’t divulge any of the details. In an interview with Arise TV, Adichie said Nyong’o read the novel, loved it and that she would be making an announcement soon.

And now speaking at UK magazine Stylist’s book club, Adichie confirmed the rumours that the Kenyan actress, who won the best supporting actress Oscar this year for her role in “12 Years a Slave”, has bought the rights to the movie adaptation.

Americanah is about a Nigerian woman who moves to the US and the complicated relationship she develops with her homeland.

This is Adichie’s third novel and it will be the second to hit the big screen.

Lupita Nyong’o’s is queen and her reign just won’t let up. After securing an Oscar Worthy role as Patsey in Steve McQueen’s 12 years a Slave, a brief role in Liam Neeson’s ‘Non-Stop’, Lupita’s next Hollywood role will be in Star Wars: Episode VII.

According to CNN, the black beauty will join a talented cast that includes Gwendoline Christie (Brienne of Tarth in “Game of Thrones) Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy in a press release could not hide how thrilled she was that Lupita would be joining the franchise “I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII, It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”

They say that life begins at 40 because this is the age that men fell we can enjoy life as a ‘real adult’ besides by the age of 40 we have learned and matured enough not to repeat mistakes and with the knowledge of our earlier years.

But for K24’s Jimmi Gathu it’s been more than that. The celebrated TV personality is one of the few parents who were lucky enough to see their grand-children before clocking 40.

Around same time last year, Gathu became a granddad when his adorable daughter, Chantal, welcomed her baby girl.

And just so you know that Jimmi Gathu is totally proud of his daughter, here’s what he posted on her birthday recently;

“My Child just turned 22….How do you bless a Child….who chose to make you see your next generation before you turn 45?….Happy Birthday, Chantal Gathu….You’ve competed your mom and I.”

George Otieno Okumu populary known as George Tyson, one of the earliest film directors in Tanzanian movie industry which is now famously known as Bongo Movies, is no more.

According to numerous sources including social media posts from people close to him and his ex-wife, Monalisa, Tyson passed away following a car accident that took place when the crew of the production team of The Mboni Show, which George Tyson was its producer/director, was traveling from Dodoma to Dar-es-Salaam.

The crew was in Dodoma to mark the show’s 3rd anniversary as they also shot new episodes and distributed desks at a couple of schools around Dodoma.

The tragic accident took place at Gairo – Morogoro area around 6pm-7pm on Friday after the Toyota Noah they were traveling in burst its front tyres making it to roll several times.

There was total of 8 passengers and while others are said to have suffered minor injuries, the accident claimed Tyson’s life.

Kenyan actor, Joseph Olita, who portrayed Ugandan dictator, Idi Amin, in the movie, “Rise And Fall of Idi Amin” is dead.

The towering actor succumbed to high blood pressure on Monday morning at his home in Siaya County.

According to a relative, Sipross Odero, Olita developed high blood pressure on Sunday night which worsened in the morning before passing away. succumbed to death.

Olita’s death came only a couple of days after his mum’s burial on Saturday.

Apart from playing the lead role in the “Rise and Fall of Idi Amin” (1981), Olita also featured in “Mississippi Masala” (1991) and played 1st policeman in “Sheena” (1984)

The actor is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
