The Beautiful Neema Ntalel Releases a New Hit

Neema Ntalel discovered her love for music while in High school and following that discovery, she was in every associated club and group; school choir, drama club, student music groups and many of these garnered her several school awards.

Later as she continued to perform and sing, Neema began a clear pursuit for a career in music and her first single, ‘Impressions of love’, was a song about the different images of God’s love for mankind. This single was then nominated for an AGMA- American Gospel Music Award, for best international act in 2003.

In 2005 Neema was nominated and won at the All Africa KORA Award for best female artist-Eastern Africa. This award led to a six week tour in Canada, her first music tour. Since this initial tour, and over the years, Neema has been part of several others to countries like the USA, Netherlands, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Tanzania, South Africa and Mozambique.

Earlier in 2010, Neema was part of the theater production, ‘Daughters of Africa’. . Neema says she was part of this production because it presented the bright and correct image of her homeland.

World’s Reigning Number 1 DJ Wants Help from Kenyans

He may never have set foot in Kenya nor had a direct interaction with his Kenyan fans, but the reigning number one deejay in the world, Robbert van de Corput better known by his stage name Hardwell, is in need of your help.

Thing is, the Dutch progressive and electro house DJ and music producer has been shortlisted in the Top 100 DJs of 2014 and is seeking your vote to help him clinch this year’s title, just like he did in 2013.

He is the world’s #1 DJ based on DJ Magazine’s annual Top 100 DJs poll and is widely known for his live sets at major music festivals such as Tomorrowland and Ultra. The video streams of his performances on his personal YouTube channel have collectively garnered more than 80 million views.

DJ Hardwell also hinted at coming to the 254 for a gig. I’m not sure how serious that is though;

Yet another rugby tournament went down over the weekend on the sandy white beaches of Diani followed by a kicking after-party at the convivial Forty Thieves Beach Bar & Bistro.

Like any other rugby tournament, merriment and ecstasy were in top gear as fun-seekers and rugby lovers had the time of their lives without showing their ratchet side.

Celebrity photographer, Michael Khateli, was there and this is what he captured. Have fun scrolling through;

Papa Shirandula Actor On Vera Sidika Bleaching: “She Looks Pretty Now”

For a while now, Vera Sidika has been on the receiving end of a lot of vitriol and bickering especially from Kenyans for her bleaching sorry skin lightening procedure.

There are those that feel that it’s her life and what she decides to look like shouldn’t bother us others however are feel that her decision to change her look is too extreme. With some alleging that self esteem issues made her make a drastic probably fatal change.

vera_evolve.jpg

But there is one thing that most people are afraid of admitting or saying out loud, she looks prettier now. I think most people are just afraid of saying that out loud because no one wants to endorse the procedure but not Gerald Langiri. A straight shooter, Gerald admits that Vera looks better now adding that being born light skinned would have made more sense.

Why Kenya Must Learn To Embrace Homosexual Celebrities!

John 8:7-8

“But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.…”

Luke 6:31
Do to others as you would have them do to you.

Mark 12:31
The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Perhaps it’s time for Kenya as a society to embrace homosexuality. And just like that, the first thing that comes to your mind is that I, Nwasante, son of Asante Violet, God’s Chosen Blogger must be gay.
Nay, sorry, I am not. But even if I were, what would that have to do with anything? Are homosexuals not human? When they get cut, do they not bleed? When hurt do they not cry? Do they not love with the same passion heterosexuals love? No, you do not have to be gay to answer. Love, like pain, fear, hate& anger are universal.

That said, our self hate, our hatred for our own is the reason many Kenyan artists whom I know for a fact to be homosexual refuse to come out of the closet.

What a ridiculous notion! Think about it, because I have been taught to fear your hate for me, I cannot be who I am? I cannot love whomever I want to? Isn’t this alot like apartheid? Isn’t this alot like Zionism? Isn’t this fascism?

I lost myself there and probably you as well. Google fool!

Think about it this way, because we have refused to embrace homosexuality, Kenyan artists other than Joji Baro cannot express themselves ergo we lose some of the most beautiful works of musical art because they aren’t free to create. If you work as a creative, then you can appreciate the need to need for creative control over your work. And I know I derive mine from my proud heritage -my identity.

Thing is, to deny someone else the right to be who they are is wrong. I am not saying that homosexuals should prance about kissing each other (unless they are a hot lesbian couple). No, seriously, as open minded as I am, I must admit that seeing men kiss still creeps me out. But what I, God’s Chosen Blogger am saying is that entertainment as a whole should embrace everyone’s rights to be who they are.

Just Google how much money Machakos county made thanks to Masaku 7s! But there were some grey clouds threatening to rain in on the party courtesy of reports that Machakos roads are already in a state of shambles.

Is this true? Well, I Uncle Chim Tuna had to find out and so I was in Machakos to see for myself and this is the shocking state in which I found the roads:

Kenyan Doctor Pacifies his Ex to Save Face

Trapped is a hilarious audience-pleasing fast-paced comedy. Its physical over-the-top makes our last show Dangerous Affairs seem like a prayer meeting by comparison.

The comedy is starring Kenya’s superstars directed by Derrick Amunga and Mbeki Mwalimu. The setting of Trapped is a medical hospital. A doctor (Nick Ndeda) is practicing the lecture he will deliver to an assembly of fellow gynecologists in less than an hour. The speech’s success is vital to his career. Interruptions abound.

First it’s various other medical staff rehearsing for a performance (i.e. the cheeky Nigerian doctor played by Maina Olwenya; tough talking matron played by Veronica Waceke; a pregnant intern doctor played by Lulu Wilson and the new doctor played by Henry Gitau Ngogoyo). Then a long-ago ex (Wangari Gioche), who was once a nurse at the hospital, brings the news that she gave birth 16 years earlier to the doctor’s daughter (Janet Kirina) and the daughter is in the hospital in search of Dad! Yes, there is his harsh wife (Rosemary Waweru), and she knows nothing of the past liaison!

And in the spiraling chaos of deceit, false identity and manic cover-up that ensues, the mission is to avoid the daughter, pacify the ex, keep the chief specialist and hospital deputy director (Derrick Amunga) at bay and fend off various distractions, among them a patient from deep in the village excited by the goings-on (Johnson Chege) and an inquisitive police officer.

Popular Blogger Blames Men Cheating On Women’s Fat and Laziness. The Reaction To The Article Is Priceless

Wow, some people really do know how to stir up controversy. A blogger by the name Njoki Chege has been on the line of fire for blaming men’s cheating on women’s fat, laziness and lack of style.

Here is an excerpt from the article which you can read here:

“I like to call a spade a spade, so when I see a fat girl, I will call her fat and not sugarcoat the truth (pun intended). Most married women I know are fat. Children or no children, you have lost your physical attractiveness and you have been reduced to a blob. Rolls upon rolls of fat and flesh jiggling around the city like nobody’s business. I look at some married women and I pity their husbands, asking myself “How do you get turned on by that?” or ‘How do you wash all that?”

I found her article distasteful and inane, because if a man is a cheater he will still cheat, even if you are as limber as a stripper, look like Halle Berry, a figure like Corazon Kwamboka, take good care of your children and enjoy a successful career. And I also think it’s a bit wrong to portray men as shallow beings whose only interest in you is looks.

Anyhow, that’s my opinion, here are some of the thoughts on this article

Agatha Erin said:

Njoki Chege my dear, I find your reasons as to why men cheat too shallow! So shallow I’d be embarrassed to put down my name as the author of the same. Fat, lazy and boring…Pray, tell me why does Jay-Z cheat on Beyonce? I bet she’s lazy fat and boring! Why oh why did Eric Bennett cheat on Halle Berry? Oh, she’s fat lazy and boring…!!
I rest my case.

Angie said: Are you married? if not, then keep your stinking shit hole of a mouth closed….

Shiru said:

Why do we keep giving excuses as to why men cheat? if she is fat, tell her to do something about it and drag her to the gym if you must, if she doesn’t dress well, tell her and buy her nice clothes and advise her on the hair styles you like on her, if she is boring, suggest fun things which you can do together. It is the responsibility of both husband and wife to keep a marriage and there is no excuse for cheating. People cheat because they choose to, period…if shes so bad, divorce her and marry ‘Sheila’. But cheating, there is no excuse…none whatsoever Njoki Chege

Next time, please write an article on why women cheat.

Maureen said:

Unbelievably distasteful and out of touch with reality. The article comes off as shallow and a pathetic attempt at sucking up to men. I’m all for looking after yourself as a woman but your reasons are off, a woman should take care of her looks for own benefit not to try get validation from a man who’s probably the cause of all her changed looks. Get a grip on reality ma’am. Men cheat. Period.

Annie said:

Wow, the amount of female bashing in this article is appalling. As a writer, shouldn’t you strive to do your research before spewing your negativity on the internet for all to see? Njoki Chege, you should be ashamed of yourself. This is some bullshit right here. Pardon my French.

Lemar said:

Wow! pretty shallow girl you are Njoki. How can you reduce women to objects who have to look, dress and act in a certain way for her husband not to cheat? How dare you reduce men to shallow uncontrollable animals who will jump at the next attractive thing because a wife looks a certain way? It is women like you that perpetuate and allow patriarchy thrive. Narratives like these excuse irrationality, bad behavior. I see you on facebook, justifying this as truth. I laugh at your pseudo intellectualism. If only you knew that there are no absolute truths. But if only you knew that only superior line of thoughts are worthy to be penned. As a fellow commentator said, I will blame it on your lack of experience. Trust me, beauty is no achievement. It is just something you are born with. And because I know you speak to young children, I am afraid for the future if this is the sort of thing you campaign about. Telling young girls that they are only as good as they look in their homes. They are nothing without their brains and their hearts and the essence of their being if they are not beautiful, if they do not meet the stands of beauty of the moment, is simply put pathetic. Somebody has got to stop you. You should never even call your stuff writing. Let’s calling it tying.

9 KEY Ways to Thrive as a Socialite in Kenya

Wikipedia defines a Socialite as someone who is well-known in fashionable society and spends a significant amount of time participating in social activities such as parties and other fashionable events, entertaining guests and being entertained by others of similar standing.

Urban Dictionary has a different view; Socialite = No-talent Sex Video Making Tramp

Anyway, the socialite culture in Kenya is at its peak no wonder every girl with a humongous derriere wants to join the club. Socialites have become an integral part of the Kenyan showbiz, ratchetness notwithstanding.

But just how do socialites thrive?

Well, Career Point, one of the leading career sites in Kenya is trying to explaining how you can thrive as a socialite, it’s almost a career now, by the way.

Here’s that;

Is Caroline Mutoko Bleaching? Find Out The Shocking Truth Here! (PHOTOS EVIDENCE)

Vera was the first celebrity to come out and boldly admit to bleaching or “toning” for the more affluent with pretenses of culture about them. And when she did so, there was reportedly a boom in the world of bleaching creams as chemists selling bleaching agents begun seeing brisk business as ladies rushed to get their hands on even the backstreet bleaching agents laden with mercury.

And so, earlier today, it must have come as no surprise when Kenya Post carried a story about Caroline Mutoko also having had taken up the habit.
But God’s Chosen Blogger doesn’t rely on nonsense rumours. I had to reach out to Caroline Mutoko for a response to the skin toning allegations. And she was kind and humble enough to engage me in some banter about the same. Rather, she, knowing the old adage bout a photo being worth a thousand words chose to use pictures of herself to explain away the nonsense:

Unveiling Gospel’s Newest Kid on the Block. His Special Love Song will Leave You Thinking Hard About Your Wavering Faith

Abbih Nguma, born and raised at the coast of Kenya realized he had a special gift in singing at a very tender age and the church really helped to mold and shape this talent.

His Journey in music has had a fair share of ups and downs with his first song that he wrote being stolen by another artist and this would have been enough sign for him to quit but he was very much inspired by James 4:14. (Life is like a vapor so don’t waste yours on the sidelines) and he felt there was a reason why it was He that was chosen to have that gift and thus went ahead to record another song titled ‘Sauti Ya Kweli’

As a young believer life was all about committing to the works of Christ and falling back many at times was rather ‘normal’ and this was one of the reasons that led Abbih to write a special love song titled ‘Kazi Yako’ re-committing himself and dedicating his life to Christ basking in his unconditional love each day of his life.

This is the Biggest Collabo Yet! 20+ Singers on One Track

The music industry is just about to be treated to the biggest collabo of all times. We’re not referring to 2 or 3 but 20 renowned artistes!

The unofficial “father of collabos”, Jimmy Gait is back with another major music collabo that will see 20 Gospel artistes sing out their hearts in a song that calls out to Kenyans to stand as a unit especially in this time when Kenya is facing issues from left right and center.

Speaking to Uliza Links Jimmy Gait revealed, “The song titled Mzuka Huu and is a praise song that celebrates all the gospel artistes in Kenya with aim of pushing a greater message of unity in this nation.”

In its context, Mzuka Huu, portrays the act of humility that Kenyans need to show each other as it puts all artistes as one. The song has given each artiste a mention with their favorite tag lines in their songs.

Some of the big names in the song include but not limited to; Rufftone, Daddy Owen, Bahati, DK, Gloria Muliro, Willy Paul, Kambua, Grace Mwai, Pitson, Eko Dydda, Ringtone among others.

Mzuka Huu has been produced by Teddy B of Jumbo Sounds while the video which has been directed by Mhando Brian of Onfon Productions will be dropping this Friday the 18th of July 2014 LIVE on Citizen TV’s “One-On-One” With Lillian Muli.

Yet Another Celeb Gets Married, Shuts down Her Facebook Account

She represents another amazing side to Kenya’s dynamic musical scene. Her voice and style has an affinity with female jazz vocalists of the 1930s and soul and folk music of the 1960s. In all her compositions, she is blazing new trails in Kenya; experimenting with different styles, and creating a hybrid sound that is her very own.

You all know her as Maia. But today we’re talking about her music because the beautiful singer has achieved another milestone in life!

After 9 ‘wonderful years’ of being together with her film producer boyfriend, Chris King, the couple finally decided to say, “I do”.

Here’s how Maia broke the news;

“Finally married after 9 wonderful years of being together with the Mr Chris King!!
I really couldnt be happier!
Now, as for my relationship with facebook, I have never been a 100% user, and as for my twitter relationship it dwindles even more, BUT I am on the twitter incline to 100%, and I will be even more so on my fan page:) So I propose the following: Close down my personal page and keep my fan page up that I will fill on a regular basis with lots of exciting news about everything and nothing.. musical, poetry, love, life, photos, journeys and its in betweens.

Maia

For me to do this though I would need YOU to ‘like’ my fan page Maia von Lekow so those of you who would like to keep your finger on Maia’s pulse can do so. Those of you who are already ‘fans’…thank you.

Lets give ourselves till Monday 21st July until Maia as a ‘personal’ page dissolves into space, never to return….. Thank you for all your support and hope that our journey can continue! Also, in case you would like to share my fanpage with your friends, please feel free to do so:)

Congratulations are in order to Maia and Chris and a very blissful marriage life!

Atlanta-based Kenyan Rapper Threatened by Angry Mob in Nairobi on Child Molestation (Mis)Allegations

Atlanta-based Kenyan rapper over the weekend got in trouble when a violent and angry mob confronted him baying for his blood on allegations that he had used a child for sexual stimulation.

Drama started when the fuming mob armed with rungus, stones and even machetes charged to the scene of a video shoot where Danny Kay was shooting his latest video, “Raised from Hell” chanting war-like songs sending the rapper and the crew into a panic mode.

Unknown to the charged mob, this was a scene in Danny Kay’s video in which he was supposed to simulate a child sexual stimulation which arose very curious suspicion considering this was all happening as “adults watched”.

Within seconds, the scene was flooded by curious onlookers who alerted the attention of the by-passers who immediately informed the police. It wasn’t long before angry members of the public started baying for Danny’s blood threatening to deal with him before police arrive at the scene.

It took the intervention of the crew to calm the mob and make lengthy explanations that this was just a music video shoot and that no one was being injured in the process.

Danny Kay confesses, “We were just going about our business in the house not knowing we were attracting interest from outside, however this is a good sign to us,  I guess this means the actors played their role so well that when people heard the on goings in the house they actually thought it was real.”

Danny Kay is signed to Candy n Candy Records and in this particular video, he’s depicting the story of a young girl who is molested by her very own dad and her dysfunctional mother isn’t doing much to help as she is an exotic dancer and drunkard.

Here are some photos from that shoot;

This Is What Lupita Nyong’o Had To Do To Get Her Vogue Magazine Cover

After being named World’s most beautiful woman by People Magazine, Lupita Nyong’o hit the jack pot when she made it to the cover of Vogue Magazine.

But making it to the cover wasn’t easy as she had to confront one of her biggest fears, snakes!

In a video that she posted on Instagram, Lupita awkwardly holds a snake before the photo is taken and as soon as it’s taken away from her, she runs for dear life.

The caption accompanying the video was, “@voguemagazine #bts: rehearsal for the snake shot. Nobody said being on the cover would be easy. #FightYourFearAndWin.”
