Ann Mbaru Displays Major Cleavage & Thighs in a Sexy Curve-Hugging Dress (Photo)

Ann Mbaru a.k.a. Annabel represented us in last year’s edition of Big Brother Africa dubbed The Chase.

She is currently one of the most memorable BBA contestants thanks to her beautiful personality and bodacious ta-tas that had us like:

Spongebobjawdrop.gif

GFF!

Annabel, 25, has never been afraid of showing off some skin; whether it is for a racy photo shoot or a night out and sure enough the beautiful lass flashed her best assets very recently. She sported a very sexy dress with a plunging neckline that showed off tons of cleavage during a dinner date.

We think this is one of her best looks so far— do you agree?

This, By Far, is the Most Hilarious Episode of Hapa Kule News (VIDEO)

Hapa Kule News is arguably the best comedy set on newsbroadcast work environment. Hosted by comedian Freddie (Fred Omondi) and Abel Mutua (Freddie in Tahidi High), the two offer their commentary on the news of the week using mostly stand-up.

They also use sketches and ‘guest appearances’ from people who have been featured in the media recently.

Well, last week, they decided to do something incredibly creative and totally hilarious. They made conversations from popular Kenyan songs, but for two.

This, to me, is the best I have seen from these guys. Check out;

Love the Great Hit ‘Say Something’? This Cover by these Talented Kenyan Artistes will Blow You Away

Last year, Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino (better known by their moniker A Great Big World) dream of success in the music industry came true when their tender ballad “Say Something” was used during the season finale of the Fox reality competition series “So You Think You Can Dance.”

What followed was an e-mail from Christina Aguilera praising the track, and from there the duo’s career’s exploded.

What followed was a series of covers of the song by renowned artistes from across the world BUT Kenya.

Alisha Popat Kevin Samuel

Video grab photo of Kevin Samuel & Alisha Popat

And now (finally!) two of the greatest Kenyan artistes, Alisha Popat and Kevin Samuel put their heads together and came up with one of the best covers of the tender ballad. We all know doing covers is a slippery path; things could go either way.

But Kevin and Samuel pulled it off like a boss with a little African twist and a simple but powerful emotive video to go with it! Check out;

Big Pin Sits On Wambui Popularly Known As Momo (Photo)

Thanks to her appearance in Murimi Wa Kahalf’s ‘Ino Ni Momo’ Janet Wambui managed to squeeze the name ‘Momo’ into Kenya’s urban dictionary.

Momo is a derogatory word for a big woman as potrayed in the ‘Ino Ni Momo’ video. The song is basically about a young man who went to the city only to end up in the arms of a voluptuous, aggressive and randy sugar mummy.

Since her appearance in the video she has become a celebrity in her own right and people are clamoring to take a photo with the plump woman. Big Pin couldn’t resist posing with the woman too. Check them out

Vera Transforms Her Look. This is How She Looks Like without Her Ksh450,000 Weave (PHOTO)

She shocked all of us when she made the revelation that her Brazilian weave costs more that a second hand Vitz or a plot in Kiserian; a whooping Ksh450,000! By the way, we are yet to come to terms with that story.

Anyway, as you’re there lamenting how last evening your weave was rained on by the unanticipated Nairobi rain, video vixen Vera Sidika, is not sharing your woes. The bodacious vixen has now ditched her weave for a new look.

She unveiled her new look (my deskie, Sue, tells me it’s called a pixie cut) earlier today and made it clear that she’s “Just trying out something different”. How do you like her new look? Check out;

Any guy who tackles intense cardio sessions understands the importance of replacing electrolytes post-workout. And that typically means sucking down a few extra calories. But new brand of water called Candy Twist removes that pesky part of the rehydration process.

Candy n Candy records & Mashwa Breweries joined forces to launch the electrolyte-enhanced beverage, which is hitting the shelves in Kenya and will be officially launched in 9th August 2014 during the great East Africa Marathon.

What makes Candy Twist way better than typical H2O? First off, the ultra-purified water is run through a UV filter five times. It also contains 72 electrolytes and has a high pH (9+), which helps combat acidic waste and restores balance in the body. Unlike traditional sports drinks and vitamin-enhanced waters, Candy Twist contains zero calories and no sugar.

How many flavor of Candy Twist exist? Candy Twist is made up of different cool flavors:

  • Lemon

Team Natural: Former TPF Host Without Her Expensive Weaves (Photo)

She is known for her lengthy weaves, but Tusker Project Fame’s former host Joey Muthengi ditched her expensive weaves for something simpler, her natural hair.

She has followed in the footsteps of stars such as Nicki Minaj, Terryanne Chebet and Catherine Kamau.
But before you rejoice yet, you will not be seeing Joey rocking that Kind of hair on the streets, the look is just for a role in a movie. She says that she will be playing a young naive kiosk owner so her stylist persuaded her to take out the extensions and ‘commit to the role’.

She describes that the look to her feels a little strange but she will get used to it

After 60 Homosexuals Were Arrested In Popular Club, More Homosexuals Arrested In DownTown Bar Raid

Over the weekend, 60 Homosexuals were rounded up, forced into a vehicle and shipped off to Central police station.

It was said that the reason that they were arrested was because they had broken Mututho laws but Joji Baro alleges that the only crime they had committed was being caught in popular gay bar, Club Envy.

Anyhow, Dennis Nzioka popular gay activist has informed the public that several homosexuals were arrested today in a downtown bar. They were however not arrested because of their sexual orientation because everyone who was in the bar at that time was arrested, gay or straight.

Dennis had posted earlier that:

Several gay men arrested in downtown Nairobi early this morning around 1am. They were arrested in a pub by police who are said to have taken in everyone who was in the pub at that hour. They were first taken to Parklands police station but are now at Central police station. Charges are yet to be named but activists are following up.

Before informing us that

All but four released on charges of drunken and disorderly and drinking past hours in a pub which had no beer licence to sell after hours. The others were able to pay the cash bail and released. The four are currently being arraigned at Makadara Law Courts to answer the charges.

Gospel Singer Scepta Unveils His New Mature & Suave Look (PHOTO)

After going for a much needed break, Scepta is back to the Gosepl music scene with not just a new hit that single that he promises to outdo his previous works which are by the way loved by many, but he has also re-branded!

His new single, Nala Bata, was inspired by real life issues that faced him when he was tossed into the limelight.

“When you are in the lime light like I am or just in normal life, there are so many negative energies that you find around you and so to me and my fans, this song highlights such negative energies to show it’s not a must to focus on them rather only God matters and if you have Him then despite what people with such negative energies say, you are set to go far in life.”

That aside, check out his mature and suave new look;

Prophet Owuor boasts of a cult-like following,a gross beard,  has the most inane predictions about the future and the mere mention of his name induces a facial expression that comes from taking a shot Absinthe especially from the elitist.

The prophet recently got some scathing remarks from Robert Alai who had zero chills when he spewed his feelings towards him:

Prophet Taka Taka Owuor. He must shave his evil beard so that we can have a peaceful Kenya. He is the most evil thing.

Prophet Takataka Owuor waited till the Germans were leading 5 – 0 then he “predicted” that it will be a German win. LOL

We’ve been fans of Sauti Sol’s soothing Afro-Pop since its inception. The group has  gone from singing about taking girls to Java to sitting front row alongside Khloe Kardashian, Trey Songz and Miguel.

But I digress . Chimano one of the band’s members known for his head turning look recently turned 27.Judging from a pictures shared by his band mate Mudigi Savara,Chimano left the wild partying to the young ones and opted for something more laid-back.

Law Society of Kenya Offers to Assist Esther Arunga

Esther Arunga’s story is the classic definition of fall from grace to grass. With a high-flying TV job and a budding lawyer who had just got admitted to the bar, Esther decided to take a completely different turn that no one saw coming, not even her folks.

It was later reported that she and her husband, Quincy Timberlake, had moved to Dubai before finally settling in Kallangur, Australia with their son.

It has been a smooth ride, at least according to them, until a fortnight ago when the couple was back on the limelight after their baby, Sinclair, allegedly fell down the stairs and unfortunately slipped away.

With all the drama and controversy surrounding her life, the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) has come out to offer its support to Esther and help her get back on track, reports Word Is.

According to Grace Kerongo of Word Is, LSK CEO told her, “Esther is our member at LSK and we are looking forward to having her back. If Esther comes back to Kenya, we will put her in a mentorship programme where she will be attached to a senior advocate who will mentor her.”

He added, “She will also be allowed to continue her legal education to comply with the laws. We will also waive the fees; she will not be penalised. We will do this till she is back on her feet.”

Apollo added, “Arunga is not a special case; we have had other members who have gone through situations. What we do is ensure they go through rehab and after treatment we reorient them, like the tea picking lawyer.”

“When you get back to Nairobi come over to LSK, we are ready to welcome you back”, was his parting shot to Esther.

Is Your Husband a Doctor? You Won’t Believe What They get up to With the Nurses!

Trapped is a hilarious audience-pleasing fast-paced comedy. Its physical over-the-top makes our last show Dangerous Affairs seem like a prayer meeting by comparison.

The comedy is starring Kenya’s superstars directed by Derrick Amunga and Mbeki Mwalimu. The setting of Trapped is a medical hospital. A doctor (Nick Ndeda) is practicing the lecture he will deliver to an assembly of fellow gynecologists

in less than an hour. The speech’s success is vital to his career.

Interruptions abound. First it’s various other medical staff rehearsing for a performance (i.e. the cheeky Nigerian doctor played by Maina Olwenya; tough talking matron played by Veronica Waceke; a pregnant intern doctor played by Lulu Wilson and the new doctor played by Henry Gitau Ngogoyo). Then a long-ago ex (Wangari Gioche), who was once a nurse at the hospital, brings the news that she gave birth 16 years earlier to the doctor’s daughter (Janet Kirina) and the daughter is in the hospital in search of Dad! Yes, there is his harsh wife (Rosemary Waweru), and she knows nothing of the past liaison!

And in the spiraling chaos of deceit, false identity and manic cover-up that ensues, the mission is to avoid the daughter, pacify the ex, keep the chief specialist and hospital deputy director (Derrick Amunga) at bay and fend off various distractions, among them a patient from deep in the village excited by the goings-on (Johnson Chege) and an inquisitive police officer.

On the Defence! Top Kenyan Celebs React to the Comparison between Naija and Kenya’s Entertainment Scene

So yesterday, our very able cinematographer, Vince, decided to do something he rarely does; write an piece with more than 140 characters. And, boy, the piece has really sparked a storm because he touched a spot where it hurts most.

Well, the story in question, compared the Naija showbiz scene to the Kenyan one giving an upper hand to the former. This elicited sharp reactions from Kenyan artistes who came out to defend our showbiz scene. While, I don’t completely agree with Vince in all aspects, the article was balanced.

Here’s what Calvo Mistari had to say;

“We aren’t at the same level!

You haven’t indicated a stand by the Nigerian government (from lobbying by associations both film and music ) implementing over 60% media airtime to local productions and local continent (this has moved to 80/85% due to public demand) and this has helped their industry. Their djs also vowed to give a black out to international music to allow their own to prosper and 10/15 yeasr down the line the impact has allowed them to grow past their borders.

Here in Kenya we are lucky even to get 10% airtime on our local music or Movies and tv shows, dominated by Mexican soaps on air, Nigerian movies back to back on our free to air stations (that reach the mases, notice you have choice on pay TV) Our local acts can barely earn a living.

I believe “whatever you feed a child they grow to like it and feed off it”, we have made ours like Mexican soaps more than a local drama like ‘lies that bind’ for example.

We love Kwaito and Naigerian music mostly coz it’s in Mases in our radio and tv shows.

Our tv stations will have Afrosinema but can’t have a marathon of local content.

Our radio stations will have a Nigerian Radio programme daily but can barely play local music weekly.

It’s only in Kenya you go to a club and you will barely hear a Kenyan song play, go to Uganda, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, DRC, even in Somailia, they aren’t bumping to other people’s music more than theirs!

Actors struggle to survive in Kenya because they have to fight for the 5-10% local airtime the local programming might get to distribute amongst them.

There’s is new talent in the arts everyday but we shall never get to hear or see them, because Man Must Live, and thus a lot will have to change before that is realised.

Solutions do exist, put the government to task to help create employment. Do you know how much employment will be creates should they decide to pass a bill that allows 60% or more, of local content to grace our tv, radio and any other form of media?

Tv production alone will allow for more script writes, actors, producers, directors, art departments, ser designers, make up artists, extras, cameramen, editors, lights and grips,… The list Is endless.

Music will grow 10 folds. All these new talent that get shut down before they even leave the studio, all the music that we don’t know of that will fill out hearts, make us dance, laugh, cry, sing, think… The list is endless.

The media association of Kenya is quick to try shut these changes down and feed you cheaper alternatives to them thus making them more money and denying us the very succes we crave for.

The industry has improved a lot, can you compare Vioja mahakamani with productions that exist today? Can you compare Music as it begun in the late 90s to now. I think our Kenyan music has grown and if fed to the children, it will take off. We can’t sit and compare ourselves with Nigeria and South Africa yet they have had 30-40 years of politics before they came together and put their feet down.

Our industry is barely a teenager, let’s help it grow and belive you me, 10years from now we shall be talking a whole different ball game.

Tunaomba serikali “Level the playing field!”

What if we begun the charity at home, what if? Tafakari hayo.

Do excuse the typos

Yours trully

Calvo Mistari’s sentiments were echoed by Nonini, producer Kevin Pro-Voke and Fundi Frank.

Is Shanky Radics Going To Represent Kenya At BBA? (VIDEO)

Big Brother Africa is back for another exciting cycle of backstabbing, mischief and all the highs and lows that come with it. That said, I caught glimpse of a familiar face when I was reviewing the tapes of the people who auditioned and I had to share this because it’s something akin to a blast from the past -in the form of Shanky Radics.

For those of you who may not remember him, he was one of the guys (along with Lyrical Erico) who gave us this musical offering:

Anyway, he has resurfaced and he has decided that he is the man up to the task of representing Kenya. Check out the audition tapes below:

Matasia Star Is Back With Yet Another Viral Video!

Matasia Star is just one of those singers who doesn’t get the appreciation she deserves locally yet she delivers. She had the first trully viral video in the land and when it trended, whether people had positive or negative comments about her music, it did so for weeks on end. Then she had a hiatus and seemed to have run out of steam.

Or maybe I was the one who wasn’t listening hard enough. But now, after searching her up, I found some new music and I want to introduce to you the one I know that will go viral for sure. And take the time and sacrifice the bundles because it is worth it! Trust me, it is worth it.
