Obinna’s song Igwe carries a message of thanking God for whatever good He has done to you but it seem the danceable beat in the song supersedes the message being conveyed and some fans could not resist the temptation of twerking to Obinna’s tune.

It does not matter how the message is conveyed as long as it is comprehendible to its intended audience; at least that is how Juliani has decided to design his message of late.

Hell no that is not what I meant when I said Juliani has become two-faced; rather I intended to say that he has become a sarcastic maestro as he seem to have a plausible understanding of the art of mockery to propagate a message against a vice the society rather ignores. Juliani wanted to convey a message to the public about the importance of living a healthy life and as creative as he is; the artiste took a different approach to how he would divulge his message, a style I would say only a musical genius would undertook.

There is a trend that I have noticed, people are more tolerant to ratchetness and explicitness in foreign videos, but that will not fly when it comes to Kenyan video.

For instance ‘Anaconda’ is waaaaay more explicit than Nishike but people will be more accepting of it because it’s foreign.
I guess it’s like the way people are okay with other people behaving ratchet but will not tolerate it when it comes to their friends or siblings behaving the same.

This is a very serious allegation that will surely shake any man to his roots if such were labelled against him. After releasing his much hyped hit single Igwe, Obinna Ike Igwe has reiterated that he is killing two birds with one stone as he is not ready to sideline any just yet.

He is a TV/radio presenter, comedian and now a singer; oh sorry he used to sing before. In today’s interview with Mzazi Tuva on Citizen Radio, Obinna recapped that he was pursuing both of his careers (comedy and singing) to greater heights. The comedian come rapper disclosed that he abandoned his singing career before as comedy then used to give him more money than the latter.

The funny man also said that his music encompasses a Naija style and not dancehall or afro which he used to do before he gave it a break. Asked to speak Swahili; Obinna was in simple word terrible. Anyway just in case you were wondering if Obinna is a genuine Nigerian or simply a Kenyan pulling a prank; the truth is that he is a ‘pointy’, he is a half Kenyan and half Nigerian. In the spirit of entrepreneurship, I think Obinna’s strategy is a good one, I mean combining both careers can give him much more income.

2014 saw the dawn of steamy and sometimes unbelievably ratchet videos. Sauti Sol kicked off the ‘steamy year’ with Nishike with Sanaipei Tande following up with Mfalme Wa Mapenzi.

Both videos were ‘too hot for TV’ and TV stations shied away from playing them. Things however took a ratchet turn with Blaqy’s money make which features the endowed Lady Risper.

This video has shocked people not because of its ‘explicit’ nature but because of how distasteful some of the images were. Last Friday, a video called Pombe Bhangi was released which made all the supposedly steamy video look like child’s play.But this article is not about Pombe Bhangi but about Blaqy’s money make which even had ‘Ole Lenku’ commenting on it.

Ever thought of seeing singer Nameless without his sun glasses on? Whether yes or no the fact of the matter still remains that there is a snowball chance in hell that you will ever find him without one in public.

The occasion was on KTN’s Friday briefing with Edith Kimani and singer Nameless was the guest anchor and he ostensibly refused to remove his sun glasses even when he was anchoring the news. I know all of you who did not get a glimpse of the show are eager to know the reason behind nameless’ logic behind his refusal.

First thing first, those sun glasses that Nameless always wears are not really sun glasses; they are spectacles. Mark me, not my words just Nameless’ explanation. I have to admit I was a little bit flabbergasted by his sentiment too. Spare my ignorance but however black those spectacles are, they are for a purpose not for fun. Nameless emphasized that his glasses were spectacles and all of you who ever wondered why he is always in those ‘dark sun glasses’; then you now know the reason now.

Last week, there were two stories that broke out about Jaguar; one of Kenya’s most prolific singers. One was about a video that came out in which he along with some of Kenya’s most reknown and infamous youthful politicians were talking nonsense and the other story was about a series of photos of his wedding.

What do Lupita Nyong’o and Willy Paul have in common? They are both representing Kenya incredibly well internationally.

Lupita Nyong’o ruled award season this year with a SAG award, BET and an Oscars to her name. Willy Paul recently bagged a Talanta Award in the USA and Mwafaka Awards just a week and now he has been nominated for an IRAWMA award. After the leaked video of the above personalities came into limelight, One centimeter hit maker has sort to shed light into what was really transpiring.

The video depicting jaguar, Sonko, Paul Kobia among others allegedly threatening to kill Raila Odinga over his call for a referendum has not settled down well with Jaguar and he henceforth decided to give his explanation. Speaking exclusively to Ghafla, Jaguar said that people should learn to differentiate jokes from serious matters. “I respect Raila as a former leader and so people should desist from the jokes going round the social media” uttered the upset Jaguar.

Well the tension brought by this video is uncalled for; even Robert Alai who caught the attention of people regarding the same video acknowledges that the depicted personalities in the video had no means to execute whatever they were bragging about.
