Everyone can even bribe me when i say that Fundamental song has been the top tune for this year and whoever rejects has to be playing his or her pagan character.

Many have been trying to reach Ken Wa Maria regarding the remix of his household tune Fundamental but it seems the sensational singer has been playing his cards carefully. He took his time and decided he needed a bongo tune in the remix of his hit song Fundamental.

Bongo finest Hussein Machozi and T-Broz have been featured in the remix of Ken Wa Maria’s Fundamental; the song is said to incorporate different languages and widely expected to hit the airwaves like the original. “I am done with my pure English and Swahili album don’t get surprised that am crossing over slowly but sure watch this space” said Ken Wa Maria. Ken won recently bagged MCSK award for his hit song and he is looking forward to achieve big with its remix as well.

Kenyans and Jamaicans go together like burgers and fries, like Soda and Cake or like Peanut butter and Jelly.

From Alaines’ song with Wyre to Demarco’s song with Redsan, we have seen some of the best collaborations between Kenyan and Jamaican artistes.

Word has been in the streets, walls, posts and boards that singer Juliani and actress Brenda Wairimu are not just acquaintances, but also friends and more importantly, lovers.

They say in Swahili, ‘Lisemwalo Lipo, na kama halipo, liko njiani laja’ simply translated as what is said is true, if not, it will be true soon.

And it will not be long before we see the two love birds starting their parenthood as Juliani clearly made us to believe when he shared this captivating photo.

Interestingly, Juliani followed the photo with a caption that leaves so much room for speculation. Asking us who the odd one out was from the photo, Juliani simply implied that two among the three in the photo had an intimate relationship.

And that cannot be Juliani and the kid. Neither can it be Brenda and the kid. Now you have the answer.

Juliani has before denied of any affair with Brenda Wairimu but each day, every time, evidence is popping up that indeed the two celebrities are more than just lovebirds. Each other’s heart is sweet to the other; sweeter than you can imagine.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was celebrating his 53^rd birthday yesterday and he invited award winning Sauti Sol to hang out with.

Hanging out with the commander-in-chief is one thing many only dream of but Sauti Sol’s success has lifted them to greater heights as they freely mingled with the president himself. The singing quartet has become Kenya’s ambassadors in global music arena having bagged the world’s prestigious MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA) and the president sure wanted to personally congratulate them and he therefore invited them to his birthday party.

The president’s security detail allowed Sauti Sol to freely interact with the commander-in-chief, see how Sauti Sol was free to hug the President. Anyway wish Uhuru a late happy birthday and thumbs up to Sauti Sol.

We like gossip. Gossip makes good news. But this is not gossip. It is what singer Ringtone had to say when he was confronted by Larry Madowo and BBA evictee Sabina Stadler on NTV’s The Trend.

Ringtone appeared to avoid the question at first but when pressure from the dual increased, he had to inadvertently declare that he is single and probably, contented.

This seems to have not gone well with some fans who happen to know more about Ringtone and quickly, they took to social media to brush aside Ringtone’s claim that he is single.

So why would a celebrity lie on a national TV when fans seem to know more about his status?

Early this year, it was rumoured that Ringtone was dating former Miss Kenya, Susan Onyango, but the singer’s sentiments on The Trend last Friday seem to bash aside the speculation.

After Ringtone made the statement clear, fans took to social media to say this:

When celebrities fail to present themselves to their fans especially on national television platforms, they automatically face the wrath of the same fans that have build them over time.

This is exactly what Gospel Singer Ringtone is undergoing at the moment after he badly presented himself on Larry Madowo’s show, The trend, on NTV last Friday.

In what was seen as lack of self control and courtesy, Ringtone was completely uncontrollable live on TV, giving Larry Madowo the hardest time to manage his antics.

And this seems to have left many viewers raged with the uncalled for behaviour, leading to the roasting of the singer on Larry Madowo’s facebook post.

The question is, why would a celebrity of Ringtone’s stature find it difficult to respect himself on national TV?

Massiger singles out his major challenge which he says is to be present to attend to his professional duties when they coincide with a musical event he is supposed to appear at, he remembers missing on an interview in one local radio station because of his tight professional responsibilities. But nevertheless, he attributes his breakthrough to his supportive boss who understands his situation and has always been willing to assist whenever he approaches them for a favor or support but once again, insists on depth of his prayers, a fact that has made him overcome numerous hurdles. As he continues to maneuver in the challenging Kenyan musical industry, he hopes to one day find a manager to run things on his behalf as heads to the next level. Check out his song here:

Did you miss Talib Kweli’s gig at Ebony Lounge? Well no need to worry as the exciting show was caught on camera and sure you can catch a glimpse of it too.

Last night revelers flocked Ebony Lounge in Museum Hill to attend Talib Kweli’s concert which I would say was a straight “A” rated performance. Local rappers Kaligraph Jones and Muthoni the Drummer Queen took on the stage and spited their vibes to light up revelers before the American rapper finally came and continue to rock the excited crowd.

Whoever said hip hop lovers are expensive and have class sure speaks the truth as revelers flocked Ebony Lounge in their numbers despite the tickets to the concert retailing at Ksh 2,000; BBA Hotshots evictee Sabina was among the many many that attended that gig. Monday, on the sidelines of MCSK Gala, a section of aggrieved artistes were up in arms against the music body protesting non-payment. And now, Maliza Umaskini founder, Mr. Sadat Muhindi, has added his voice in the ongoing tussles.

Sadat, a music connoisseur, whose foundation – Maliza Umaskini – is nurturing music talents like the fast rising Gospel singer, Papa Dennis, is of the opinion that MCSK is not solely to blame for artistes empty wallets. In fact, he says that MCSK only takes 10% of the blame and the other should be on the media (radio, DJs and TV). Arguing that since radios, TV stations and deejays aren’t playing enough Kenyan music, the payment the artists receive will forever be peanuts since MCSK pay per airplay given.

“It can’t be that our media outlets are playing 80% foreign content and giving Kenyan music only 20%. That way, artistes shall forever be paupers and will be at loggerheads with MCSK for low royalties”, Sadat chimes in. He adds, “If you go to Nigeria or SA, 90% of the content you’ll hear on radio and see on TV is purely local. And only a paltry 10% is given to foreign content. Why can’t Kenyan radio and TV deejays emulate that?” Sadat adds that the only way that the industry can grow is first, by appreciating what truly ours. Agwatta Mfalme who did Ashawo, Kisii version which hit airwaves is back again with Sauti Sol’s Sura Yako, Ekegusii Version.

Ghafla Kenya published some scenes from the video yesterday and as captivating as they were, the video itself is an epitome of creativity.

Agwatha uses the local Kisii settings in his video, with good traditional dancers who give the video a completely different dimension from the original one.

The video itself is likely to hit airwaves as soon as possible, because believe it or leave it, Agwatta Mfalme has produced one of the most enthralling videos of our times.

Sauti Sol made a name for themselves and for Kenya when they scooped the prestigious MTVEMA Best African Act award in Glasgow, Scotland yesterday.

This massive win was met with mixed reactions from the public and those who have keenly followed Sauti Sol’s progress in the music industry.

Edward Kwach takes the cake for the ‘most fired’ presenter in Kenya. He has been fired from quite a number of Radio stations that include Capital FM, Kiss FM, Nation FM and most recently Urban radio. And singer Juliani has taken the initiative of offering his feelings about the people of Nairobi.

It seems over the years that the singer has lived in the capital, he has quite a number of things, among them the behaviours and cultures of the people of Nairobi.

The number of jobless people in Kenya is growing each day, accusations are traded every now and again over who is responsible for the joblessness and at the end of the day, Kenyans remain a suffering lot.

However, singer Juliani is seemingly jumping to the defence of the government of the day over the bitter issue of joblessness.

As the government is facing massive pressure to provide jobs for the citizen, Juliani feels that should not happen as there are enough jobs in Kenya but those who are supposed to take them are not skilled enough.

This might not sound real to many Kenyans who have struggled through thick and thin to remain relevant in the job industry only to be frustrated by the lack of the jobs they so crave.

However, as the saying goes everybody is entitled to their opinions and what you can do is respect Juliani’s.

Talib Kweli’s concert saw a conglomeration of fans and local artists from across the divide but one celebrity who is well known to have converted to gospel shocked many when liquor took the best of her and started behaving funny.

Do you remember the famous Compe remix song? Well the singer of that song Michelle was caught on camera when alcohol had taken the better of her; she was not behaving so well and curious onlookers decided to record that embarrassing moment. It seemed Talib Kweli’s concert at Ebony Lounge last night took her to greater height of self enjoyment.

Michelle quit singing secular songs and turned to gospel music however her star never shone that bright as compared to her secular heydays when she was a very big club name.

It was a race, a grueling thrilling race that saw our very own Sauti Sol emerge the winners.

Sauti sol beat musical big shots like Diamond and Davido and were named ‘Best African Act’ at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards. A fete that has never been achieved by any other Kenyan musician,  something that was made possible by Sauti Sol’s fans in Kenya and Africa.

So how did Davido feel after her lost out to Sauti Sol? Was he vexed and threw glass against the wall in a fit of rage or did he accept Sauti Sol’s win with grace?

Was he angry that he lost to Sauti Sol after losing to Fuse ODG at the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards in the ‘Best African Act’ category?

NTV Crossover 101 host Faith Muturi has teamed up with her sister to release one for men, and specifically fathers who are not dead beats.

In her video, Faith praises her father whom she believes was the reason she is what she is today. She goes ahead to praise all men who have not shunned their duties and who have stood with their families, just like her father.
