On Sunday morning, Fidel Odinga’s lifeless body was discovered in his Karen home by his young wife. His death came as a blow to not only Raila Odinga’s family but Kenyans at large.

The family of the late Fidel has organized a way for the public to bid a final goodbye to the fallen son of this nation. A public viewing of Fidel Odinga’s body has been set for today from 2pm to 4pm at the Lee Funeral Home in Nairobi. This is according to a news bulletin on Classic 105.

Fidel will be laid to rest this Saturday at their Bondo family home where his grandfather Jaramogi Oginga Odinga was buried 21 years ago.

The security laws are still a raging topic amidst Kenyans as new twists are taking centre-stage every single day we live.

The laws that were passed amid chaos in Parliament have been met with mixed reactions from Kenyans of all walks of life, with the opposition managing to convince the High Court of Kenya to suspend some sections of the controversial law which were deemed inappropriate and unconstitutional.

However, unconstitutional is the word Dennis Itumbi and his lot do not want to hear. This explains why the director of digital communication in the office of the president has blasted Ken Mijungu and his show, Press Pass following the use of this term.

On Monday, Press Pass was discussing the security law and majority of the speakers said the suspended sections of the law were unconstitutional. Itumbi quickly took to his social media account to bash the allegations and advised that Mark and his show should stop getting information from the print media.

“@NTV Kenya is completely wrong on the matter of Security Laws. Judge Odunga in his ruling did not find any single clause unconstitutional. Not even the suspended ones.

On the matter of suspended sections, The Judge was very clear.

The outspoken blogger who is said to be aligned to the Jubilee government has made fresh claims that Ida Odinga is seeking to stop the widow of Fidel Odinga from Inheriting property left by her late son. It is still unclear where this is stemming from but he has called it a developing story and has promised to divulge  more details as they come!

 He would write on his Facebook timeline: “...DEVELOPING STORY; Even before Fidel is laid to rest, RAILA’S wife has introduced a new twist to the whole saga. She seeks to deny Fidel’s bona fide wife FROM exclusively/legally/solely or automatically inheriting the son’s property. I will tell you more. Ukistaajabu ya Musa..”

Vera Sidika spent her holiday in the one of the flashiest hotels on the Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa.

While you are still struggling to make ends meet this money scarce January, Kenya’s most hyped socialite, Vera Sidika, is still enjoying her holiday in high-end hotel along the coast.

Since her arrival in Mombasa, Vera has been flooding the social media with pictures of herself slacking her eye-catchy body in Jacuzzi tub. (Team Mafisi should catch a glimpse of this)

As usual, Vera flaunted the most precious asset of her body. Guess she just wanted to show thirsty eyes she is still the queen of show off when it comes to flossing the funda-mentals.

Ciku Muiruri recalls her dark past as a slave to smoking, the bitter memories make her regret ever engaging in the costly pleasure.

Ciku Muiruri narrates how she battled with her smoking addiction to salvage herself from the obvious repercussions that are as a result of turning the nasal cavity into a chimney.

Even though it’s close to eight years since she last lit a cigarette to smoke, the memories of her smoking days are still fresh in her mind. It was a habit she remembers too well and one which she regrets having started.

Ciku explains quitting smoking was an uphill struggle to her saying one will always remember the day they stopped smoking.

Someone who just quit smoking and is suffering asked me how long it’s been for me. I rattled away without having to think about it. I had my last cigarette on the 23rd of January, 2008 at 4pm. I smoked it at Kengeles West on my way to the airport, for Hong Kong. I remember everything. I remember thinking how the long flight would help. I remember hating being a slave to this thing. I remember cursing the day I started and hoping for the strength to stop. It was a Life Event to kick this bad habit. So if this is Day One for you or Week One, stay on the path. Raila Odinga has thanked the President as well as the rest of The Kenyans who came to condole his family. He describes his last moments with his son hours before he received a phone call that his son Fidel was no more.

As  the year came to a close in 2014, so did Alex Mwakideu’s engagement to the love of his life, Mariam.

Mwakideu tied the knot in the presence of God, his family and friends in a lovely ceremony held 4 days shy of the new year. Celebrities who attended the wedding include, Sauti Sol, H_art the band, Dr Ofweneke, and Jalango.

The Odingas and the entire country are in a somber mood after the sudden demise of Fidel Odinga, the eldest son of former premier and CORD leader Raila Odinga.

Prominent persons in the country have been flocking the Odinga homestead in Karen to condole the bereaved, the very first being President Uhuru Kenyatta and other top officials in the government.

Businesswoman Esther Passaris, who is a close confidant of Mama Ida Odinga, is another celebrity who visited the Odingas to console her friend Ida.

Esther reveals that as she tried to console Mama Ida, she learnt that she(Ida) has not accepted the fact that Fidel is gone, for good.

Esther tried to remind her that Fidel was in a better place but Ida refused to accept and this is what she told her:

 After the shocking death of Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s Son,Fidel,One person stood out for the manner in which he chose to mark the death and the sentiments he made regarding the sudden demise.

I didn’t see anything wrong with the title after a cursory glance, In fact I thought it was a pretty cool title  that was a mile stone in trying to unravel the mystery behind the the death of Fidel Odinga. I mean, The Late Fidel had a couple of Rifles in his house as well as a loadful of bullets, 3 riffles and 1900 bullets to be precise, sounds like someone had hit a goldmine… 3 Riffles And a load of Bullets, well, that is when i remembered that Fidel was reported to have died in his sleep, at no point was it reported that he had suffered bullet wounds or had actually shot himself. 

So why make a fuss of guns that were found in his room? And how could these riffles be found in his room yet he was licensed to have them? The key word here is “Found” -According to a random online dictionary, Found is an adjective that means”having been discovered by chance or unexpectedly..” He had a license apparently, which means that the riffles and bullets were not “discovered” “unexpectedly” -sorry to burst that “Voila” or “Eureka” that you had formed, thinking that the latest development amounted to anything.

Wahome Thuku, a popular Lawyer and columnist was baffled at the choice of words, he could not make out why the Riffles and the bullets were “Found” yet it is reported that Fidel was licensed to posses them. He would post on social media that the big story should not have been whether the riffles and the bullets were in his room, The big story would have been “Fidel’s Riffles and Bullets missing from his room!”  

Funnyman, Njugush, has shared some of the most gut-busting jokes ever seen on the internet. As a matter of fact, the jokes are life experience of which most people underwent.

Kenyans have this habit which honestly irks me, putting tribalism into everything, even mundane things. I was disappointed when Kenyans started lashing out at each other based on their tribe following Fidel Odinga’s death.

Some even going ahead and insulting Raila who is grieving the loss of his child, it was vulgar, insensitive and disgusting to say the least.
And Tahidi High Actress Veronica Mwaura was also disappointed by this offensive behavior sharing this:

The debate on the conviction of a Moi University student, one Allan Wadi Okeng’o, for insulting the president seems far from over after Nation Media Group Editor Macharia Gaitho plunged himself into it with very strong words against the jubilee regime.

In an article in the Nation newspaper, Macharia has blasted the jubilee government for intolerance and gradual drift into dictatorship after what he says is a hurried arrest and conviction of Allan Wadi, a mere university student who does not know how to use the social media correctly.

“The arrest, prosecution, and jailing of the fellow just because of foolish Facebook posts acts as proof of the intolerant and dictatorial regime we are drifting into.”- Macharia Gaitho

Macharia has particularly wondered why the big fish who have committed similar offences before and who tend to support the government are roaming freely in the streets while small fish who make similar mistakes and who tend to oppose the incumbent face the full force of the law.

The editor specifically compared the likes of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Mugo Wa Wairimu and Jack Muraguri who support the jubilee administration to the likes of Dikembe Disembe, Robert Alai Onyango and Allan Wadi who express opposing views and wondered why the former walked free despite misusing the social media while the latter face the full force of the law when they do the same.

Macharia’s article comes at a time when social media outcry has intensified over what many perceived as an unfair trial of Allan Wadi, which saw him sent into prison for two years.

“The speed with which Wadi was arrested and jailed itself demonstrates that this was treated as a special case because the Kenya Police Service, the Director of Public Prosecutions, and the Judiciary are not known for swift action on anything.” – Macharia Gaitho

It is, however, understood that the Director of Public Prosecution has ordered for Wadi’s file to review the case.

Eda Atieno was the talk of the town last year following her less than flattering performance on Tujuane.

And for this rather memorable performance, Kenyans clawed at her ferociously like a wounded lion. After this mess, Eda went underground and just like other controversial Tujuane Dates before her, disappeared into oblivion.

Former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, managed to make a consoling crowd laugh as he narrated his last moment with his late son.

Addressing a crowd that had gathered at his Karen home to condole with his family, Raila managed to crack a joke amid the somber mood that was evident at the occasion.

Raila was narrating his last minutes with his son when he called Fidel’s widow to the podium. “This is Luam, Luam Odinga. You can see this young beautiful girl, Fidel Knew how to choose them” Raila hilariously introduced Fidel’s wife to the audience.

Mugo Wa Wairimu is simply the most pernicious blogger that ever walked the face of Kenya. Forget Robert Alai’s very noxious rants,Mugo Wa Wairimu is quite the gem. A toxic gem. And his pandemonium across Facebook has quite managed to amuse and ruffle many.

Fresh from being a topic in The Senate,where Senators like Omar Hassan(Mombasa) made sensational claims alleging that he wanted to kill them(Wait,what???) Mugo Wa Wairimu has lived up quite to the hype. He is bluntly unapologetic,trenchant,discourteous and loud. And his posts always manage to ruffle quite a feather. And piss and enchant people in so huge a proportion.

How he even ended up with a following is a wonder…But given the Internet’s penchant of attracting sleaze-loving thrill-seekers,Mugo wouldn’t have to struggle too much to amass a following that waits,in bated breathe,for his next fanfaronade. And entertain them,he does. Bluntly and curtly. His writing can be as icy as a mountain peak and as tasteless as unseasoned beef. He cuts hard…And cuts deep….His love and fierce allegiance to the Jubilee Administration quite unmistakable.

He stops at nothing. And heeds to no one..Well,except Dennis Itumbi who he appears to worship. Besides that,Mugo’s Facebook Wall is a jungle of sorts where the most pestiferous rants are spewed and the most alarming pronouncements are made. Its a pretty heated corner. And Mugo quite relishes being the Bad Boy of Social Media Activism as he prefers to dub his cavalier work.

But even with his notoriety,Mugo’s Facebook posts boast one very peculiar characteristic;His flagrant disregard for either auto-correct,the English language,proper writing skills,the edit button or proofreading.

His posts have the lamest,blandest,thickest and most miserable grammar ever seen on a post. It’s really a pain to read them. Or wrap your head around them.

But,as usual,Mr.Bad Boy doesn’t seem to be perturbed. Not a bit. Th trade goes on…The hate blows on…the allegations fly on…the toxicity spreads on. Unbowed by the poor grammar.

I am of the opinion that if You call Yourself a blogger (Online journalist,writer,whatever) You should strive to set the pace as far as accuracy,adeptness,language prowess,expertise and correctness is concerned.

Doesn’t matter whether You are posting Your acidulous tweets/updates in a hurry, on in a ramshackle matatu or in a City Council toilet or in the middle of a City protest,Your message MUST be conveyed correctly and smartly. It doesn’t take 24 hours to proofread and edit a 2 sentence nonsensical post anyway!

Whatever is going on here is appalling. And sad. And disgraceful to the profession of Activism or blogging or lobbying or whatever it is Mugo Wa Wairimu claims (or pretends) to do for Humanity.

The Kiss 100 radio diva is one very disgruntled Kenyan on Twitter following what she feels is a continued misuse of the noble social media platform.

Adelle Onyango has bashed the savvy Kenyan twitter users for what she feels is continued trolling and spread of hate messages across the social media platforms.

The presenter is not flinching from telling Kenyans On Twitter (KOT) what she feels they should not be engaging in every time they log in to their accounts.

She regrets that every time she logs in to her account and scrolls down all she sees is trolling and hatred and has wondered how KOT have missed out the real meaning of fun, which she feels Kenyans on twitter are completely missing.
