7 Celebrities That Have Tasted The Wrath Of The Law. You Will Be Stunned To Find Out What Redsan And Sonko Were Once Arrested For

If you haven’t been a guest of the state yet, count yourself lucky and pray hard you don’t spend a night in a cube. Some celebrities knows it too well what it means to be confined in those dirty pits used to restrain those fellows that have been condemn by the law. But most of these news makers have since come out of their ordeal stronger than when they went in. What doesn’t kill you…

red_ndl.jpg

Top of the list is Mohamed Swabir aka Redsan. The poor fellow was a victim of law. He was arrested on October last year and the infamous Central Police Station served as his bedroom for a night. Redsan’s offense; mistaken identity. Yes, he was mistaken for a terrorist. He refused to be screened at the Nairobi International Trade Fair grounds opting to leave instead. The police on the other hand had a different idea, they caught up with him along Uhuru highway and took him in for questioning. Lucky he only spent a single night behind bars.

slepy.jpg

Churchill Show’s comedian, Sleepy David, has also broken the law and ultimately paid for it. His case was rather a funny one just like his humorous jests. The funnyman took his birthday too far and when his landlady couldn’t have it no more, she called the police to intervene. Sleepy was arrested at his Kahawa Wendani residence early last year. He was reportedly bailed out by his friend.

ambas.jpg

Gospel singer, Ambassada, found himself on the wrong side of the law when he was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. Police raided a flat in Ongata Rongai where the Ugandan-born singer was and took him in. Ambassada had bought an Apple iPad from a friend. The iPad belonged to popular actor, Freddy Omondi of the Hapa Kule News. He (Freddy) had lost it when he was attacked by gunmen. Ambassada spent a night behind bars before he was taken to Kibera Law Courts to pay for his crime. His predicament happened this year, last month to be precise.

boniface.jpeg

Now this one doesn’t mind being arrested. Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi is not a new face to the police. As a matter of fact, he has been arrested so many times that even the police themselves are tired of handcuffing him. The most popular arrest for Boniface that I remember was way back in 2013 when he was taken in for shouting at Cotu’s motormouth, Mr Francis Atwoli, during Labour Day Celebrations.

alai.jpg

Alai, Alai, Alai, the keyboard activist was bold enough to share the President’s contact details on social media and that earned him two nights at a Kiambu police station. One would think he learnt a lesson or two from his arrest but Alai was a guest of the state again only a month later after his initial incarceration. He was put in jail for linking Julie Gichuru’s husband, Tony Gichuru, to land grabbing scandal in Ruai. But Alai was not shaken by any of those arrests, the whistle blower is still undeterred in his quest of naming and shaming any soul that he thinks is engaging in fishy affair that is of public interest.

sonko.jpg

The one and only Mike Sonko has also stepped on the law’s foot a couple of times. Forget all those incidents that he spat on the constitution while he was a legislator, he was actually arrested and sentence to a jail term while he was still a ‘nobody’. The flamboyant Senator was jailed for two months at the Shimo La Tewa prison in 1998 for absconding a court date over a matter relating to him selling a parcel of land at the Coast. Sonko has seen moved on after serving his time at the dreaded prison. You can see where he is now!

dennis_itu.jpg

Last but not least is the President’s frontman on digital platform, Dennis Itumbi. The former tech blogger was apprehended by the police back then in 2012 at his rural home. The then government claimed Itumbi and two others were behind an e-mail hacking scam involving witnesses/victims of the 2007/2008 post-election violence. Funny how Itumbi has turned out to be the Director of Digital Communication in the Office of the President. That’s how you get over your mess!

Photos of the Extremely Sexy Lady Chosen to Replace Anita Nderu on NTV’s Teen Republik

On 25th May 2013, Anita Nderu left teen Republik for a job at Capital FM, making her one of the youngest presenters to join the station.

And she was filling some really big shoes, those of Laura Walubengo who had left Capital for DSTV.

She announced her departure on Facebook by writing this:

My amazing journey with the Teen Republik comes to an end today 🙁 Be sure to tune in and share this special episode with me 🙂

Many wondered if the lass who came in after Anita would be able to fill in the shoes but she did. Her name is Muthoni and she is a beauty! Lo and Behold!

The Nairobian Newspaper On The Receiving End After Publishing Lies!

Mistakes are inevitable in a society that glorifies Humans as fallible creatures-I heard that they have even coined an adagio “to err is human”. Well this atrocious error by Nairobian was not taken kindly. They, in a quest to clinch the elusive readership lied to our faces, and the learned folk, the likes of Wahome Thuku pointed out the Lie.

According to the Nairobian Governor Evans Kidero (who walks to Kempinski by the way) and Uhuru Kenyatta were born at the Pumwani hospital. An ancient hospital whose standards refuse to go up  decades after it was opened. It turns out that the president was In fact born at the Agha Khan hospital.

The article came in the wake of baby swapping that has plagued the facility for years.  They asked .”what if uhuru Kenyatta and Evans Kidero were swapped? They wouldn’t be president and Governor today right? It is probably they addressed this issue once and for all.

‘You Don’t Need A Man To Raise Children’, Caroline Mutoko Tells Women

Celebrated former radio personality Caroline Mutoko has been running a series of clips through her you tube channel, talking about the boy child and how they grow and become respectable men.

The former Kiss 100 queen has talked extensive and specifically to her fellow ladies, advising them on the need to bring up the boy child in the manner accepted by both nature and society.

And now in her very last episode of her short series, Caroline has bashed the idea that a man must be present in a woman’s life to help bring up a boy child in the correct manner.

Caroline quips that there are great men who have garnered international acclaim and yet they were raised single-handedly by women.

The Radio Africa Chief Marketing Officer gives an example of her late sister Regina Mutoko whom she said raised her son through the help of her uncles, brothers and other male friends without necessarily needing a man in her life.

To make her point sound even more relevant, Mutoko went on to narrate how US President Barack Obama was raised single-handedly by his mother and grandmother, and grew up to become one of the most prominent figures in the world.

Mutoko urges women to believe in themselves as they bring up their male children because she strongly believes they are capable of raising very respectable persons.

Is this the reason Caroline decided never to marry? Well, this she knows herself too well. Here is the clip she uploaded in her you tube channel:

Octopizzo Lends P-Unit’s Frasha His Support As He Goes For Top Seat

Rapper Octopizzo is one of the most celebrated hip hop artistes in Kenya today thanks to his prowess in the hip hop industry. His game, for a long time, has been on top, with his closest rivals trying to catch up with him for a long unsuccessfully.

This perhaps explains why the singer becomes a subject of focus whenever he throws his support behind someone. He is known to harbor some ego you know.

Well, Frasha is delighted after Octopizzo rallied behind him for the forthcoming MCSK elections where Frasha has indicated that he is vying for the Director of MCSK seat.

Frasha himself is an established singer who has built himself a name through the P-Unit group. P-Unit has been one of the finest singing groups in Kenya and they have been in the industry for quite some time now.

Posting in his instagram account, Octopizzo urged his fellow musicians to vote wisely in the forthcoming elections and by that Octopizzo seems to have meant that they should vote for Frasha.

He said:

frasha

It seems many artistes are throwing their weight behind Frasha as they have indicated through their social media accounts.

Socialite Tings! After Dressing Like Adelle And Wearing Make Up, Shaffie Weru Twerks Vigorously

Shaffie Weru has really gone feral with this cross-dressing dare.

A challenge he had to take after failing to comply with Kalekye Mumo’s desires. She wanted a box of costly chocolates, perfume and a gold watch, by Wednesday after he failed to attend her pre-birthday party. If he couldn’t come through with the gift he had to come to the office dressed as Adelle.
Well he chose the latter and this resulted to a mess that was him parading around in a crusty wig and Adelle’s tiny shorts and tights.

But it does not stop there; he takes it a notch higher and TWERKS.

This Is What Amani And Jalango Did In Studio This Morning

In recent times, Amani has been around the media block.

Just the other day she was hosted by the Str8 Up crew for an interview and later, she received an invitation to Kiss ‘After Burn’.

amani.jpg

This morning, the sexy Grandpa Record’s singer was hosted on Radio Maisha ‘Maisha Asubuhi ’and after the interview, part of the Maisha team challenged the ‘Kizungu Zungu ’ singer to a dance off.

And Amani really killed it while doing the Shoki a dance popularized by Lil Kesh , a dance so popular that Nigerian politician Orji Uzor Kalu did in a bid to woo voters.

Between Amani and Jalang’o who did teh Shoki dance best?

The Singer Who Caused Controversy With An Arsenal Song Is At It Again. See What He Did This Time Round

He made headlines with his song that made some internet users trade insults all over the social media. The man behind the controversial song is once again tilting the spotlight to himself.

The song was called ‘Arsenal’ and Haq is the singer who dropped it. He was simply praising his favourite football club but the words used in the song rubbed some people the wrong way.

{youtube}VHKxwPOUOec{/youtube}

But Haq wasn’t done after releasing the video, the sprouting singer went on a mission to sharpen his lyricism to make sure he will be making people to voluntary lend him their attention when he hit the airwaves again.

The singer has dropped another song dubbed, ‘Bila Mapenzi’ which I have to admit is quite an improvement on his side.

For a moment, I almost confused him to a Tanzanian artist, the song has well refined Bongo tune and even Haq himself perfectly manipulated his voice to conjure to the beat.

‘Bila Mapenzi’ is a story of a young man in search of love. He finds it in the oddest place he least expected. The story is well told in singing so check out the video below:

These are the Top 5 Radio Co-Presenters In Kenya and Number 3 Is Actually From KBC

Radio has been the most popular media channel in Kenya and the world over. This is because of its advantages which range from reach and diversity to portability and easy access. Majority of the populations across the globe will tell you that radio is the most readily available source of information which they easily access and listen to.

Today, almost all electronic gadgets have inbuilt radios that can be listened to at any time anywhere. Phones, i-pads, laptops and almost everything has at least a radio embedded in it.

Kenya has come a long way since the days of VoK and KBC to oversee a significant growth in radio stations in the country. Today, the country boasts more than 82 radio stations spread across the republic.

Despite this stiff competition, there are shows and co-hosts who have been at the top of their game year in year out, wowing the audiences with their prowess behind the mics and probably commanding the largest listenership in Kenya.

These make the best co-hosts and the top five include the following:

Gidi And Ghost – Radio Jambo

gidi

The ‘Unbwogable’ hit maker and IT guru combined with the former Harambee Stars coach and who remains as the most successful national team coach are one of the most listened to co-hosts on radio in Kenya today. The two are well known for their laughter coupled with incisive programmes like the Patanisho section where couples, families and friends re-unite after a break-up. Gidi and Ghost Asubuhi is one of the finest radio shows in Kenya today. As it turns out, so many listeners and especially those from upcountry uncontrollably get thrilled by Radio Jambo’s morning combination, making their show one of the finest on radio. This makes the two inseparable and a perfect combination to listen to.

Alex Mwakideu And Jalang’o – Radio Maisha

mwakideu

The departure of former Radio Maisha queen Esther Ingolo who went to work for the Mombasa County government threatened to break the otherwise up-coming Standard Group owned radio station. However, when Jalang’o left Kiss 100 to team up with Alex Mwakideu, hope was restored and as expected, the two have lived to many listeners’ expectations. Jalang’o and Mwakideu combination is arguably another best radio duo to ever be behind the microphones and the audio consoles. To date, the two have taken the Maisha Asubuhi show to another level thanks to their prowess on radio matters.

Bonnie Musambi and Cynthia Anyango – KBC

bonnie

There was a time when KBC was everybody’s favourite radio station, probably because it was the only available radio station then. The state-owned broadcaster enjoyed monopoly for a long time until when media freedom was realized in Kenya with the coming up of more radio stations giving it a run for its money and listenership. Dspite KBC today playing third fiddle to other radio stations, Bonnie Musambi and Cynthia Anyango have given the station an edge over other radio stations, thanks to their dexterity behind the microphones. Cynthia Anyango worked at Sheki FM before her talented was spotted and got poached from the Mombasa-based radio station. Her coming to KBC helped complement the ever effective Bonnie Musambi, effectively putting their Zinga La Asubuhi show among the best radio shows in Kenya. It is not a surprise even as many people have shifted allegiance from KBC Bonnie and Cynthia still command a massive following, thanks to their competence as a morning combination.

Maina Kageni and Mwalimu King’ang’I – Classic 105

maina

Tune in to 105.2 every morning and a deep, commanding and authoritative voice will meet your ears as Maina welcomes you to the Maina and King’ang’I in the morning show. The two, Maina Kageni and comedian Churchill are one of the best combination on radio today. Maina has always spoken the best and authoritative English in radio while Mwalimu King’ang’I has always brought the best comedy on radio. Classic 105 is arguably famed because of the two’s undying competence on radio. Maina and King’ang’I in the morning is a show you wouldn’t want to miss.

Massawe Japanni And Cleophas Awinja – Milele FM

massawe

Massawe Japanni and comedian Cleophas Awinja had made Q FM one of the most revered radio stations until there was a mass exodus from the nation media group-owned radio stations. It was Massawe Japanni who left first. Awinja lamented that his life wouldn’t be the same again without Massawe. And as it turned out, Awinja meant every word he uttered. He followed Massawe to Milele FM and the two were once again teamed together. Since then, Milele FM has been on the rise especially on the evenings. As people leave offices for their homes, Milele FM is the station to tune to. Massawe and Awinja are one of the most entertaining radio personalities in Kenya today.

Is The 90-Day Rule, Total Bull Crap or Worth The Wait? #StoryLab

Steve Harvey was ‘born’ and he came with the 90 Day rule. And women across the world adapted this and ran with it. Men on the other hand, hated the man for opening our eyes! The 90-day rule for those who may not know is, not having sex with the guy you just for 90 days. In these three months, you are to learn about the short and long goals of the man trying to woo you. It’s a system that basically protects women, many, if not all, men HATE it. 90 days without sex??? Who’ll do that?

mumbi.jpg

Before the 90-day rule was conceived, ladies gave up the cookie mostly through pressure from the dude or manipulation. Now we are brighter thanks to Steve Harvey! Or so we think. Waiting doesn’t really contribute to a man’s staying with you or leaving. If he his intention was to tap and go, then he will tap and go…even if you make him wait a year. But if he wants you for the long run, he’ll stay; tapping you tomorrow or the next year won’t matter.

abigail_4.jpg

So then comes the question, what’s the trick of keeping the man guessing and on his toes? How long do you wait before parting your legs, or kissing? Men, how long is too long or how short is too short? Do these ‘rules’ even work?

Cause according to the men around me, 90-day rule is B.S!

Stay tuned for episode 4 of How to Fins a Husband, let’s see if Sarah Hassan (Carol) finally mastered the art of mystery in her relationship. Tuesday 10pm at Channel 161, Maisha Magic, be glued on your screen.

THE LIST: Introducing The 10 Greatest Kenyan ‘One Hit Wonders’ Of All Time …….They Released One Good Song Then They Went To Sleep

For as far back as i can remember, there have been artists associated with only one song – and one song only. It may have been their debut recording, or it may have come after an entire career’s worth of show business perseverance They released that one massive jam and just couldn’t beget the next. Perhaps their instant success shocked them into a comma. You never know.

The music world runs on a “what have you done for me lately?” mentality. We’re obsessed with something one minute and couldn’t care less the next.

One hit wonders are a unique brand of artistes. They will subvert the odds and public expectations. They will be remembered for surprise breakouts. Their names become cemented in college basketball lore. And like that, they are gone. Here are some of Kenya’s ‘greatest one hit wonders

See Also: Five Annoying Traits Of One Hit Wonders

“Bambika” – Shanky Radics and Lyrical Erico

shankyyyy

There is an ironical lyric in this song which goes, “Bambika bambika nah ii goma noma, kwa sababu tunaanza na hatutakoma.” Well, ‘walianza na wakakoma.’. Shanky Radics and Lyrical Erico just couldn’t conjure up another hit. I saw Shanky perform at a Miss University gala in 2013. The boos were louder than his music. Poor guy. Recently he was on the trend and no one understood why he was there.

“Manyake”- Circuit and Joel

joeeee

Another anthem that made parents want to block the ears of their kids. In fact, the song was originally called ‘Juala’ but people renamed it to ‘Manyake’ by force. The jam was as massive as Judy Anyango’s behind. The video was shot in a butchery and the quality was as poor as that of Fagilia by Mr.Nice. However, that didn’t matter . All we wanted was to sing along

“Amka Ukatike” – Czars

czars

A high school kid called Czars came up with this song. It’s production was top notch and the boy’s flow oozed talent. Czars was destined for great things but then he just went missing. Up to this date, no one knows where he is

“Toklezea”- Chantelle

 chaaaa

She got married, had a baby and then erased music from her priorities list. She just might have turned out to be one of Kenya’s greatest female rappers had she not given up

“Walking Class’ – Ala C

ala c

‘Walking Class’ is a clever title for a song. It’s been two years since the Calif Records star had a hit. Some might argue that it’s still too early to label him a flop but I know a one hit wonder when I see one.

“Unanijazz” – King Georgez

I couldn’t even find his picture on the internet. He jazzed people of course. Perhaps he crowned himself ‘king’ too early. He could have been one if he had continued releasing such songs.

“Leta Wimbo” – Sema

semaaaaa

The ‘super’ group Sema was formed in 2004 after the Coca-Cola popstar talent search. Kevo, Pam and Sana later parted ways in 2005. Now the last person standing is Sanaa. After the split, she went on to be a household name, leaving the others wondering what they did wrong.

‘Gyal” – Shavey & Slice

SHAVEY N SLICE

The road was clear for them since Kenya doesn’t have many dancehall artistes. They had the chance to rule the industry like Wyre and Redsan but then they just chilled like they had won a one million dollar lottery. Good luck to you guys wherever you are

“Njaro za mamboch” – Alahola

The internet doesn’t recognise him too. Alahola made mboches look so yummy. I think people who like ‘nyemelearing’ maids got inspiration from this song. A club banger it was but I have no idea where the guy disappeared to.

“Usichoke” – Henrie Mutuku ft Rufftone

henrieee

A true gospel sweetheart. Henrie had a voice that even forced atheists to listen to The Lord’s message. Her hit single Usichoke still plays regularly on Classic 105 and 1fm.

You Will Not Believe What Lupita Nyong’o’s Dad Did To A Senator

We knew Peter Anyang Nyong’o as a Kisumu senator and since March last year, we now also know him as the father of Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o.

And it turns out; the senator is quite the sassy. As demonstrated by a letter, devoid of chills that  he sent to Adhiambo Gwendo, a nominated Senator in the Republic of Kenya.

SENATOR.jpg

How can I join you in welcoming the cabinet secretary to my county? Is he coming as a personal guest or in his official capacity? Or, is he coming as a jubilee operative? In which case, I am the wrong person to invite. Thank You” wrote Nyong’o.

Here is the letter:

Dazzling KTN’s Presenter Reveals She Thought About Changing Her Breasts To Make Them Bigger

She is talented, pretty and about all successful, by Kenyan standards of cause. Even so, the soft-spoken model-cum-presenter, Lois Hannigan, isn’t immune to the temptation of making modifications on her body.

The creator is funny in his own unique way, know that saying that no man is perfect, it’s totally true. Even drop-dead beautiful girls who make you have the wildest dreams have one or two things they wish they could change about themselves.

KTN’s presenter is no different. For those who don’t know her, Lois Hannigan is a common face on Yolo, a teen show that airs on KTN on Saturdays. The lass is beautiful by all definitions but the thought of changing her breasts has also crossed her mind.

Speaking to Ghafla! Lois revealed she has thought about enlarging her tities. The Yolo presenter however clarified she wouldn’t yield to the pressure of making any change on them.

“If I was to change anything, I would want bigger breasts I guess. But I wouldn’t change them.” Lois disclosed.

She clarified she was comfortable with her ‘small’ breasts even though the thought of changing them has crossed her mind.

Emmy Kosgei Trashes Divorce Rumors, Announces Pregnancy As She Enjoys a Getaway with Hubby (Photo)

They say that there is a lid for every pot meaning that each person has that one person meant for them. And for Emmy Kosgei, her lid was her husband Madubuko.

But the Kenyan society was not very fond of Emmy’s choice of lid, and they expressed that they did not like this lid too much citing that it was too old and soon they would part.

The bad wishes soon escalated to rumors that the two were parting, something which Emmy Kosgei says isn’t true. Speaking to The Star Emmy said that “Everything (in our marriage) is going on normally and becoming even better every day. The rumors (about divorce) were just dubious and malicious, propagated by people of bad will. People talk a lot of things and much of that is very untrue. But I never dwell on such things.

And that we should expect a child very soon from the couple who are currently in Abuja looking all-loved up.

“Ma boo..! #thelfie choose to live, choose life… believe in yourself coz you got what it takes to make it! Trust in God in all u do.. Blessed afte pals…” Emmy Wrote.

The Beautiful Sanaipei Tande Tells Off Her Man

After being played by her man, the sultry songstress has decided to turn her back on him saying the dude ‘ankula huu’.

It has been long since Sanaa made any headline on the numerous news outlets. Even so, the sparking hot singer has found her way back to limelight.

Sanaa has decided to drop a new video where she was telling off her man for cheating on her. It’s another sensual video after the steamy ‘Mfalme Wa Mapenzi’ that was banned from the screen for ‘provoking’ our sexual feelings.

Dubbed ‘Ankula Huu’, Sanaa’s love song has the visual appeal to make you glue your eyes on her. She incorporates her flirtatious dance with her sweet smoky voice to make ‘Ankula Huu’ magical.

She sure knows how to make folks talk about her and she did just that with her new song. This one will make Team Mafisi salivate again!

Avril’s Fiancee Gets Mad After Maasai Mara University Students Fondled Her Butt

Celebrated Kenyan songbird Avril was on the receiving end of Maasai Mara University students’ thirst after they fondled her buttocks as she performed on stage during Mzazi Willy M Tuva’s Mseto campus tour show.

As Avril performed, the male students would not resist the urge to touch her fundamendols clearly showing how thirsty they were over Avril’s contoured body.

And a few weeks after the incident, the singer has spoken about it, giving her views over the same.

Among the many things that Avril revealed about the incident is that her fiancée, who is South African, is a very disappointed man.

Avril has revealed that the fiancée was taken aback when he saw the photos of the students touching and taking selfies with the singer’s butt.

avril

She says that she is, however, glad that her fiancée understands the situation she normally gets in whenever she gets on stage to perform.

Avril also talked about the incident telling a local blog: “Mob psychology is a tough thing to understand. No one has the right to touch someone without their consent but you’ll find that it’ll happen many times because people are different and what is wrong to some people might not be wrong to others. When one person does something, there always seems to have something like a domino effect.”

CABU GAH DIARIES: SEXUALIZATION. 10 Kenyan Female Entertainers Who Have Refused To Be Sexually Compromised. No Matter What.

Yesterday I did a piece of 6 Kenyan Female Artists who’ve embraced SEXUALIZATION. By that,I meant female artists who’ve infused sexual connotations and their sexual allure into their art. Either by the way they sing, what they sing, music videos, publicity photos, the body parts they wish to show us when the camera rolls or even interviews.

And as I promised, here now is a list of 10 Kenyan female entertainers who’ve said NO to SEXUALIZATION. They’re sexy, they’re beautiful, they’re gorgeous and they’ve got burning hot bodies but still, they’ve refused to sexualize their image, they’ve refused to sensualize their art, they’ve refused to eroticize their music, they’ve refused to sexually stimulate their music videos or studio photos for the sake of showbiz, for the sake of numbers, for the sake of competition and the sake of the corrupt music industry.

And even though they’ve done a couple sexy songs,or worn a couple sexy numbers in their music videos, still,You get to see that they did it BECAUSE they were women. Not because they were sexual objects first. And then musicians second.

Here’s the LIST of the Sexualization Rebels.

They’re Kenyans India.Arie,Adelle,Zahara,Janelle Monae,Jill Scott….Kenya’s Solange Knowles whose sister Beyonce is the embodiment of showbiz sexualization.

1. WAHU
Obviously, Wahu had to top the list. She’s been one of Kenya’s foremost female artistes and boy,the girl is dangerously talented. She blew up after releasing the feminist anthems LIAR,SITISHIKI,KIBOWBOW and other such fast-paced Ogopa Deejay-produced tracks. She espoused the power of a woman. And the independence too. She roared into the industry by bashing errant men and, while doing it,still looking sexy and keeping her Campus boyfriend. Wahu never felt the need to sexualize her music-or image-for the sake of her showbiz status. She simply relied on her power vocals and brilliant song-writing skills to win us over. And she did….much to our (men) chagrin. She was a go-getter from the word go. And her fairytale wedding-and marriage to-singer Nameless totally yanked her off the sexualization radder. Good girl…gone better.

2. AMANI
Amani’s a good singer. But not sooo good. She’s also beautiful. And classy. And very secretive….good for her. Amani started off the same way Wahu did- at Ogopa Deejays doing those fast-paced dancefloor-friendly jams that really took us through the spirituous 2000s. After she did the hugely-popular jam “Papi” in the early 2000s,she followed it up with more hard-hitting jams like “Talk To You,Bad Boy and Usiwe Mbali. But it’s her 2002 hit Ninanoki featuring Kamonski that really made her blow up. It was a huge hit. Huge huge huge. Amani still remained relevant and active and even though she sang about letting her man hit it in the song “Tonight” she still didn’t over-sexualize her message or dress super provocatively in the subsequent music video to pass her bedroom message across. Amani also has remained fiercely protective of her privacy. And personal space. It has hurt her brand, no doubt. But she seems not to mind. Well…

3. SUZANNA OWIYO
My Lord, there’s NOT an ounce of sexualization in this mama. Not an ounce. She’s straight up business….From beginning to end. She’s sang at the Nobel Ceremony, met Oprah Winfrey and entertained Presidents. All this without ever having to show some flesh. Or flash a thong. Or show some cleavage. One word- Classic.

4. NAZIZI
I must say that I do NOT know what Nazizi is really upto of late. Man,she’s been posting all these crazy,lip-pouting,semi-nude photos of herself of late. Either she’s trying to show up just how amazing she’s starting to look after hitting the gym or she’s desperately trying to hog the limelight and create a buzz for her new projects….as well as fighting for attention from these other new cats in the industry. Still,Nazizi, for the longest time, has parlayed her craft without ever needing to undress. Or look sexy. Or sound so. She actually was the tomboy extraordinaire. And she lived up to that asexual image so well that we were all shocked that a woman like her could actually get married and get a kid. She remained famously asexual. But of late…Girl’s been trying too many things. Desperate.

5. MUTHONI DRUMMER QUEEN
Muthoni’s more of a man than she is a woman. There’s NOTHING sexy in Muthoni DQ. And that’s the point. She’s got a business mind. And a tigerish entrepreneurial spirit. She’s result-oriented. All the time. And has her busy mind on the money. 24/7. With such zeal and famous drive,it’s hard to tell a woman to sit back and do her make-up. Or dress sexy. Or look so. Or sound so. She’s got a man’s image. And a man’s hassle. Can’t knock a girl’s hassle. To hell with sexiness! Utajua Nai Ni Ya Nani…..

6. WANGECHI
She’s the post-teenage genius rapper who encountered the very-publicized car accident late last year. She’s signed to music mogul Kevin Provoke. And after meeting her twice,I concluded one thing; Girl ain’t never compromising her image for nuthin’. Wangechi is another Nazizi. Dangerously talented and still NOT at all concerned on how to look sexy,be sexy or sound so. Damn,Girl doesn’t even have a damn boyfriend! She’s asexual like that. Her rap jams are iller than ill. She’s the Female Kendrick Lamar. But still,You will never see her go the Nicki Minaj way. Her boobies, butt and cleavage will stay hidden. For a loooong, looooong, loooong time. Sad.

7. STL
Hmmmmm…..I actually tend to differ. STL’s image is really sexualized. Or partially so. The amount of flesh she flashes in her music videos, photos and public performances is testament to that. She’s a tricky balancing act…she’s a tomboy. And a surreptitious sexual beast at the same time. She’s confusing really. And most of her song lyrics?? Profane! To say the least.

8. FENA GITU
She’s not thaaaat popular. I am not even a fan of whatever is it she does. Or sings. Or raps. Or whatever. And she dresses like six male drugs peddlers in Lagos,Nigeria. She’s never going to sexualize her image. Or show you some thigh. Never ever. But to be honest, its even better that way. Some people should just sing. And go home.

9. SAGE
Try singing like a goddess and then dressing like an usher. Tough, right? And yet Sage-Rabbit’s baby mama-manages just fine. Sage has the talent of the heavens. She’s a vocal powerhouse. And a dangerously gifted composer and performer. But still,Sage is yet to capitalize on her sexy body and genuine good looks to get ahead in this very competitive industry. She’s content with the little space she occupies. And doesn’t seem to ever want to show us some cleavage to get ahead. Or promote a single. Smart girl. Rabbit must be such a lucky ninja! Aaaarrrgh!

Lupita-Nyongo.jpg

10. LUPITA NYONG’O
We all agree she belongs in the list, right? Especially with that hair and those full princess-esque dresses, she belongs nowhere better. Than here. We hope Hollywood doesn’t corrupt her though….But if the recent photoshoot she did for a French magazine is anything to go by,I am afraid. Very afraid.

There Is More To Eric Omba Than Begging His Estranged Wife Gloria Muliro For Forgiveness. He Opens Up Like Never Before

Eric Omba came under the hideous glare of the spotlight after he was exposed as a philanderer. Begging for his wife’s forgiveness via social media only made it look worse for him and many feared that his career would go the Robin Thicke way.

Remember how Robin killed his career by releasing a cringe-worthy album that was a complete and utter flop in a bid to win back his wife Paula? Well Omba’s social media shenanigans were doing more harm than good and thankfully he shifted the pleading and groveling away from the public eye and is now concentrating on publicizing himself. Building his portfolio.

Africa Link decided to do an interview to find out who Eric Omba really is. Is he more than Gloria Muliro’s husband? And what is the connection between him Ruth Matete and Pitson?

Did Eric Omondi Just Swim In RMS Pool As Citizen TV’s Kirigo Ng’arua Sat On The Poolside And Happily Watched?

Eric Omondi is one of the funniest comedians in Kenya today. He is known to crack a joke out of anything and that will leave fans with aching ribs.

But it seems the comedian has taken the game to Citizen TV’s Kirigo Ng’arua after doing it with Huddah Monroe and Jackie Mariba. Oh no, with Huddah and Jackie, they just kissed.

Eric was hosted on Citizen TV’s Breakfast show by the dynamic duo of Willis Raburu and Kirigo Ng’arua, and among the things the comedian did was to promise Kirigo that he can swim perfectly, and not just swim but swim for her.

So they set off to the swimming pool. Kirigo sat on the poolside and Willis Raburu was there with his camera capturing every moment.

Eric stripped and remained with his boxers and made good his promise. He dived into the swimming pool and swam for the TV siren as she enjoyed every moment.

In the video uploaded by Willis Raburu in his Instagram account, Kirigo is heard happily cheering every move Eric makes in the ‘blue’ water, clearly indicating she is enjoying what the comedian is giving her.

Here is the video as uploaded by Willis Raburu:

Jehovah!!! Is This Kiss FM’s Shaffie Weru Dressed Like A Lady? This Is Total Absurdity (Photos)

He has the beard of Rick Ross and probably the most masculine face and voice I have ever come across. Wearing makeup and dressing like women! That I have to admit Shaffie Weru COMPLETELY took many by surprise, including me.

There are some men who can dress like ladies and come out looking stunningly gorgeous; the like of Kevin Mwangi better known as Shaniqua belongs to this category.

But NEVER Shaffie Weru. No! The Kiss FM presenter has been the embodiment of everything testosterone for a long time. Seeing him in ladies’ outfit is a downright betrayal to the male species.

Just like Eve used her charms to convince Adam to eat the forbidden fruit, Kalekye Mumo managed to use her secret weapon of choice to inveigle Shaffie into accepting to wear makeup and dressing like lady.

Then he goes on to try ladies’ seductive move, ohh my! Some things should never happen. Shaffie should just have left this sickening stunt for Eric Omondi.

Anyway, the outcome was HORRIFIC! Just see the photos for yourself below:

New Survey Ranks Nairobi As Number One In Entertainment Africa!

It doesn’t get better than this folks! That little club that recently opened in your hood is probably one of the many little reasons that Nairobi has been voted as the  top entertainment  city in Africa. The whole of Africa! Imagine that! We beat Nigeria with all their oil wells and south Africa with all that gold! And Uganda too, with all those, uhm,.. bananas!

This was calculated on the expenditure in terms of movies, clubbing and the general entertainment  scene. So the next time you feel like you want to crash a party, hit it running, party till you drop. Even the continent agrees that we, then Nairobians are the party people par excellence.

Obama Reveals To Kenyan journalist Why He Has Skipped Kenya Since He Became US President

Barack Obama has openly and frankly indicated that he is not coming to Kenya any time soon despite having ancestral roots in the country.

The US President’s father is a Kenyan who was born and raised in K’ogelo, Siaya before relocating to the US where Obama was born.

Obama has been in Africa as US president and the closest he came to Kenya was when he visited the neighbouring Tanzania where he spent a few days touring the East African country.

He clearly skipped Kenya and dodged questions then on why he never visited Kenya despite his grandmother, Sarah Obama living here.

This is the reason why Standard Group editor David Ohito confronted the US president with questions over why he has skipped Kenya.

“Are terror threats the reason why you have skipped Kenya?” Ohito asked Obama early this year.

Obama quickly defended himself saying, “No no no.” He then went ahead to explain other issues without elaborating further on the same.

Obama said:

Finally an Event with a Cause! Join the Campaign & End Water Poverty

WHAT: MY WATER! MY RIGHT! World Walks for Water and Sanitation 2015

WHERE: Freedom Corner, Uhuru Park, Nairobi

WHEN: 22-03-2015

Kenya Water and Sanitation Civil Society Network (KEWASNET) and End Water Poverty, the global CSO coalition, invite you to attend the international mobilization demanding universal and sustainable access to water and sanitation less than a week from now on Sunday, 22ND March 2015 in Nairobi at Uhuru Park.

As part of a global mobilization on and around World Water Day, organized as part of the international World action for Water and Sanitation campaign, KEWASNET will join civil society groups around the world in walks to demand change in water and sanitation policy, calling for the realization of the human right to water and sanitation, and more extensive government funding and programmes to expand access to the 1.8 billion people who access faecally contaminated water and the 2.5 billion people who live without access to a toilet.

With less than two weeks until World Water Day, there are already hundreds of thousands of people worldwide registered to take part in the mobilization, drawn from countries across the world and civil society organizations of various sizes, representing various sectors and campaigning across a range of issues all linked to water and sanitation.

Mr. Samson Shivaji, the KEWASNET CEO said: ‘‘We are calling on people at Uhuru Park to join us in this very important mobilization to show politicians that we will not give up on our demand for a dignified life, with adequate access to water and sanitation – a basic human right.’’

Mr. Shivaji said: “This is a unique opportunity for the people of Nairobi to take part in the global mobilization to defend the human right to water and sanitation, demand changes in their area, and have their voices heard both locally and internationally.’’ ‘‘Tackling water and sanitation must be a central concern of government, and we citizens must remind our leaders that water and sanitation are cross-cutting issues at the heart of development.’’

‘‘Water and sanitation issues are inseparable from issues of health, gender, education and economic growth. Access to the basic human right of water and sanitation therefore has the most potential to impact and alleviate global poverty.’’ ‘‘If we fund in the right way, we can overcome the water and sanitation crisis, and in doing meet our commitments to human rights and increase our national wealth, both economic and moral.’’

“Our approach to provision of Water and Sanitation must seek to address inequalities and promote Gender Equity. KEWASNET has an overarching concern regarding growing pressure on water resources, including pollution and scarcity, and the implications this has for the quality and quantity of water for peoples’ water, sanitation and hygiene needs.”

At a global level, more than one in eight people do not have improved access to a safe water supply, while almost 40% of the world’s population remains without access to sanitation – the most off-track of all the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). In regard to health targets, it is estimated that 50% of the hospital beds in the global South are filled by people with illnesses caused by inadequate water, sanitation and hygiene (UNDP 2006). Total economic losses due to inadequate water supply/sanitation services are $260 billion per year, while there is a $4 return on every $1 invested in sanitation.
