Mzee Ojwang was not only ‘betrayed’ by his former employer, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC), there are also others who let him down in his dire hour of need.

Talking about Mzee Ojwang’s predicament is a drill in his nerves; even so, the pain isn’t in his eyes. It’s on the people who unapologetically let him down when he desperately needed them.

Did you know Mzee once did a commercial for a company that specializes in optometry? (the practice or profession of examining the eyes for visual defects and prescribing corrective lenses.) Well, he did and the company in question is Optica Kenya.

Imagine this, Mzee once beat the drum for them but when he fell sick for an illness the company specialized in, Optica Kenya was nowhere to be found.

You may be asking yourself why they should bother about the old man’s wellbeing, I mean they paid him and probably their contract is now null and void right? Wrong, to date, Mzee’s images are still conspicuous on Optica’s shops all across the city from Moi Avenue to Tom Mboya Street.

Optica Kenya, to date, is still using Mzee Ojwang’s images to advertise itself yet they didn’t bother about Mzee’s eye condition when in fact he was suffering from a condition they are the masters of treating.

Ironically, their slogan is ‘jione tofauti’; seems Mzee alijionea kweli… What a shame!

Sarah Hassan famously known as Tanya from her days as an actress with Tahidi High is one lass who has perennially graced our screens with nice displays of her acting prowess.

She started off with Tahidi High as Tanya and later made significant appearances on other TV shows, something she has held onto to date.

In case you missed it, Vera Sidika was yesterday busted for being a high end prostitute. It appears as if her vanity and greed got the better of her.

But life is so unfair. While the common man was busy making Vera Sidika famous and fapping over her pictures, the rich man was busy giving her org*sms and playing on her derriere like a kid on a bouncing castle. I think we all knew Vera was a prostitute, we just needed proof. And the proof was in the pudding.

So it happened. What can the socialite do to redeem herself now?

Get saved

This is the easiest escape route. Get saved and release a song with Jimmy Gait or Willy Paul and she’ll be good. She could even start her own church and become Archbishop Dr. Vera Magdalene Sidika. Who wouldn’t attend a Vera Sidika church? Even ‘Team Mafisi’ would be inspired to turn to ‘Team Kondoo’. The gospel will be, ‘If Vera did it, we all can. Glory….Glory!!!’ Note that due to her bleached skin, Vera already looks like a ghost, so moving form ‘ghost’ to ‘The Holy Ghost’ shouldn’t be that had right?

Go even harder

If you look at it from a business perspective, what this whole expose’ has done for her is offer her more advertisement for her services. I’m pretty sure her mail is jammed right now and her phone is buzzing endlessly. If demand outweighs supply, she can get co-prostitutes to assist her with the job. Since gleeful haters like me are having a field day pushing an ideological crusade against her perceived shamelessness, Vera could just go ‘chini ya maji’ and let stuff cool off. Walking around with the tag of ‘National Whore’ will not be easy. A perfect option would be to set herself up in a cave in Afghanistan and chill with the Taliban. Through such a tough sabbatical, she’d learn to be smarter and learn strategies of how not to get caught plying your illegal trade.

Perhaps all Vera needs is to lower herself to an acceptable job. According to historical trends, Kenyans forget things easily. If Vera decides to switch to a respectable profession like acting, her fans would still cheer her on. Times are tough girl. I could even hire her as my personal ASS-istant..

Change her face

A huge plastic surgery champion, Vera could change her face so that people wouldn’t recognize her anymore. Just like a fugitive on the loose, she can completely modify her appearance and come up with a new moniker. If it’s possible, she could also revert her skin back to the dark shade that God initially gave her.

Ugandand socialite Zari Hassan made headlines when she toppled former Miss Tanzanian from being girlfriend to celebrated Tanzanian heartthrob Diamond Platinumz. Zari, who is a mother of three, caused a stir in East Africa as Diamond declared his undying love for her as they toured places together and publicly sunk their lips into each other.

Regardless of all these happenings, Kenyan comedian Vinnie Chipukeezy is not giving up on the Ugandan socialite and it seems he is willing to take the game to Diamond’s door to try his luck.

Chipukeezy has revealed his undying affection towards Zari, saying that he is still contemplating giving her gold because she already has Diamond.

Zari is expected to jet into the country where she will join Kenyan socialite Huddah Monroe for the Art of Luxury event at the Skylux Lounge.

Is Diamond threatened? Will Zari give in to Chipukeezy’s advances?

There is no doubt Boniface Mwangi has a convincing tongue; if he can manage to get ‘Karate Kid’ starring, Jaden Smith, to have a face-to-face chat with his family, then sure he can move mountains with his amazing parlance.

Boniface nailed down Jaden Smith and he made sure his family too got a piece of the popular Hollywood actor.

Jaden is also the son of legendary actor, Will Smith. He starred in 2010 blockbuster, ‘Karate Kid’ that cemented his name on Hollywood’s wall of fame.

The kid is also Hollywood’s highest-paid child actor. Boniface rubbed shoulders with the talented actor while he was on a trip to the US. He showed Jaden his work and convinced him to have a chat with his family back in Kenya via a video link.

As usual, money was the bait he used to lure the self-style socialite into his trap. Unlike Vera, Huddah was a bit cautious while trying to validate whether her admirer was genuine or just a penniless member of Team Mafisi trying his luck to find a free or pocket-friendly ride.

If you intent to take Huddah to your bed, better be prepared to part way with $ 10,000 (Kes 920,000) because that’s the amount that makes her tick.

In the literary circles, Grace Ogot’s work was praised by high-browed scholars in the academic world and fellow authors who referred to her as one of the most prolific female authors in the country.

Her books The Island of Tears, Land Without Thunder and The Promised Land were met with rave reviews, cementing her name in the literary wall of fame.

When she was not working, Grace was a doting mother to four kids and wife to the former Chancellor of Moi University, Professor Bethuel Ogot.Roles which she served well.
