Behind the fame and success, Ugandan veteran singer Jose Chameleone has his own inspiration and someone who he thinks is the best artiste the world has ever seen.
Despite having his musical roots germinating in Kenya and having close friends in the 254 who are also artistes, Chameleone has overlooked his friends for American Pop King the late Michael Jackson.
In an exclusive interview with Ghafla Kenya, Chameleone admits that there is no African artiste he can copy from.
Who is that African artiste you look up to musically?
“Honestly, nobody, nobody! There is no African artistes who has reached that level I can look up to”, Chameleone says.

“Maybe Dbanj but as a businessman. I respect him very much because he is a smart business guy”.

A couple of days ago I was watching, ‘How to Find a Husband’, the second episode of Kenya’s steamy series, comes on Tuesday at 10pm on Maisha Magic, Channel 161. Billy (Justin Mirichii) went on and on about how he loves Abigail’s (Mumbi Maina) natural hair, flirted with her, ordered for drinks… Only to find out it’s not her natural hair but a weave. They guy had a lot of nasty ish to say, woke up and left her with the bill! Claiming his a MAWE guy…Men Against Weaves.
This got me thinking about men love-hate relationship with weaves, so I did a small survey in the office. From seven guys, this is what I got in summary;

Amani is one of the most established artistes in Kenya who have been in the industry for more than a decade and still going strong.
The veteran songbird has had an experience that is insurmountable in the music industry, and along the way someone has been an integral part in her glittering career.
Speaking to the Nairobian Amani revealed that American music luminary R.Kelly is one person she holds so close to her heart and that he is one of the people who have inspired her music career.
Amani recalls when in 2010 she was picked to represent Kenya in the Airtel One8 Project and was the only female artiste from Africa to be picked for the project.

“That Airtel endorsement put me on the continental platform. I remember once being stopped at the airport by two fans from Cape Verde for autographs. I was shocked. I have performed in countries that I would never imagine,” Amani told the Nairobian.
The songstress recalls how the Project enabled her and other 7 artistes record the song Hands Across the World with R.Kelly in his house in Chicago.
It was here that Amani developed her relationship with R. Kelly and since then, the singer has continued to inspire the Kenyan songbird and she is not looking back any time soon.

The former Miss World Kenya and anti-jigger campaign has quashed claims that celebrities abandoned her during the burial of her month almost a month ago.
Cecilia Mwangi has said that the showbiz industry stood by her when she lost her mother through unclear circumstances a month ago.
Cecilia’s mother was found dead in her farm in Kitale three days after going missing.
And after photos of the burial ceremony emerged showing very few celebrities at the ceremony, talk went round town that the showbiz industry had abandon Cecilia.
However, Cecilia has dismissed the claims saying that in fact celebrities stood by her during the difficult time and excused those who did not make it saying that the burial was on the weekend of the Valentines Day and she understands many celebrities had duties to run.
She is very grateful for the support she received from State House and other celebrities who stood by her.

He was arrested for impersonating NTV’s popular screen sirens on the social media. Ashnaam Mohamed had perfected the art of click baiting (writing sensational or provocative headlines on the internet) using popular celebrities’ parody accounts to get traffic on his own site.
The most affected persons, Victoria Rubadiri and Kobi Kihara were utterly shocked to find out the same magician who was featured on NTV’s the Trend was the one who was smearing dung on their well-manicured personalities. The two breathed a sigh of relief when the 21 year old was arrested.

One thing though, Ashnaan was not arrested by cyber crime police. It was the ‘infamous’ Anti-Terror Police (ATP) that apprehended him. Why was he arrested by terror police while he committed a cyber crime?

A fortnight ago,the internet was set ablaze after a blog EXPOSED what supposedly was private messages that Kenyans sent to Maina Kageni on his super popular morning show,Classic 105. The messages had actually been ‘revealed’ years ago. But they enjoyed a resurgence a few weeks ago. Again.
The show,almost always,discusses private bedroom matters,the foibles of men,the shortcomings of marriage,sex shenanigans,marital upheavals and general hedonism and debauchery in society.
And the show has legions upon legions of diehard listeners who do not just listen passively but also contribute greatly to the program by calling in to air their dirty linen or texting Maina Kageni-Or Classic 105- via their phone numbers to lament about their dysfunctional marriages,inept husbands,incompetent wives,dull sex lives and other X-rated nitty-gritties.
And then one blog cleverly decided to not only RE-EXPOSE the phone numbers belonging to these Kageni fans…But also expose the EXACT messages these listeners had allegedly texted to Maina. Typo and all.
And the internet was set ablaze.
I followed the whole drama silently but avidly and finally decided to call up these numbers and ask these people what they had to say regarding these damning allegations.
But I called too late….since 70% of all the people whose phone numbers were exposed had by now totally SHUT DOWN their phone numbers. To never be reached or called ever again.
The other 30% is the people I talked to. And all of them,every single one of them,denied culpability… Either claiming that someone used their phone,or that the phone they were using was a company phone and still others told me that I was contacting a wrong number .And yet others categorically stated they they were NOT called the names that appeared on Maina Kageni’s database.
It was interesting. Quite interesting to hear them either deny knowledge of any sent messages or even deny they weren’t who I thought they were.
Most told me that they had been called a billion times before regarding the same issue while others simply hang up on me. Or picked up the phone and refused to talk.
Well,here are the responses from the culprits mouths. They’ve categorically denied involvement in this whole scandal.
“I have never texted Maina…”,’ This is NOT my number’, ‘My name is NOT Mary….’, and ‘I am NOT even married’ are the kinds of predictable answers I had to put up with. Through every phone call.
Well,here we go. I have posted a screenshot of the listeners message to Classic 105. But blurred their number for privacy purposes. And then I’ve embedded a recorded response from them. After I called them up….

CALLER NUMBER 1 is a guy who at first admitted that he is Steve. And then he denied he isn’t Steve after I asked him about Maina Kageni…He denied denied denied that he sent a message to Maina Kageni claiming that his mother sexually molested him….Listen to the conversation.
CALLER NUMBER 2 is a lady who texted Maina Kageni telling him that her husband left her for an older woman…And left her with a 1/12 year old kid…But she denied it all. Claiming she didn’t send the texts…And claiming that she doesn’t even have a kid. Its interesting. Listen.
CALLER NUMBER 3 is a guy who after I mentioned Maina Kageni,started acting shifty. Claiming that his number was NOT personal. It was an office number…But he had sent a text to Maina Kageni telling him that his wife is a drunkard and that he is afraid of her…Listen.
CALLER NUMBER 4 is a woman who texted Maina saying that she is a drunkard and that drinking doesn’t affect her at all. And that she takes 3 bottles of Viceroy per day. And it doesn’t affect her children at all.
CALLER NUMBER 5 is a person who texted Maina Kageni saying that her husband was poor in bed…But the phone was picked by a man. Who claimed that he never sent the text neither was he aware of his number being used to text Maina Kageni. He also claimed he isn’t married…Well,Listen.
Ok,the victims-or culprits-have spoken. And denied involvement. I think,either this whole thing is a shady,fake blog bullshit….which means these people are honest. Or all of these people are simply lying after being exposed. I do not know what to believe. You be the judge…..

Veteran Vitimbi actor Mzee Ojwang Hatari has hit headlines since the other for all the wrong reasons after it was revealed that the respected man is ailing and living below the poverty line.

Citizen TV’s sports anchor has been bereaved. Mike Okinyi announced he lost his beloved son.
Mike yesterday through his official twitter handle announced the heart-breaking news about death robbing him of his son, Twani Kitwana.

Mzee Ojwang’s heart-breaking tale touched so many Kenyans who have since been airing their frustration with the government for turning a blind eye to the country’s heroes and heroines.
Almost the whole country went into tears the moment Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, unearthed Mzee Ojwang’ whereabouts. The veteran comedian had been stuck in a cocoon of poverty affected by partial blindness.
Apart from the philanthropic Mike Sonko who took Mzee to the hospital, Kenyans have busy reminding the state it has forsaken its sons and daughters who have made the nation proud.
Funnyman, Eric Omondi, took time to pen a letter to the commander in chief. Eric was informing the President about Mzee Ojwang’ plight.
He went emotional on the letter revealing how the veteran actor had been on the screen for over four decades making the nation laugh yet was when he fell sick the government wasn’t extending its helping hand to him.
He argued the head of state to assist Mzee saying if Kenyans dared put up a helpline like they did during the Turkana drought, the whole nation would be ashamed.
