Well according to a media guru, when ratings are poor, the co-hosts are more expendable .but the hosts are pretty safe, case in point Rashid Abdallah and Teacher Wanjiku, Teacher Wanjiku faced the axe, Angela Angwenyi and Lorna Irungu , Lorna was laid off.

In addition Angela Angwenyi will be hosting a new show “The Political Roundtable” which will be made possible by her prowess in politics; after all, she holds a degree in Political Science.

The mainstream media industry in Kenya is growing tremendously despite some setbacks from the digital migration quagmire which have threatened to derail and delay its growth.

But with the realization of digital broadcasting in Kenya, competition for viewership and content will surely be taken to another level. TV stations in the country will be assessed basing on the type of content they channel to the audiences, unlike before when they were commanded massive viewership thanks to their reach.

Perhaps this explains why Standard Media Group as realised KTN is not enough to reach the audiences and beat competition from its close competitors. The media house is on the run to establish a TV station to partner KTN in content distribution to the mass audience.

KTN which is expected to get a sister station

A close and reliable source has revealed to Ghafla! Kenya that in fact it is the digital migration saga that has delayed the functioning of the new TV station. Plans to launch it are at an advanced stage with everything in place, waiting for the stalemate that has seen other TV stations shut down to be resolved.

The newest TV station will be airing current affairs issues, unlike its sister station KTN which will be bestowed with responsibility to deal with all other issues not related to current affairs.

Our source reveals that SGL has seen the need to start another TV station to catch up with Nation Media Group which already has NTV and QTV.

With the digital migration, there is more space for more TV stations to be put up and the latest move by SGL is aimed at exploiting this potential.

The new TV station will be on air immediately digital broadcasting effectively takes effect.

Did Lupita take the whole world for a ride? Well, some ‘disgruntled’ thieves opened the Pandora’s Box when they returned the pearl-embellished dress they thought was worth Kes 13 million.

She stole the glamour at Oscars 2015 with a dress that got the whole world talking. Alas! Kumbe it was just the case of ‘Ujaluo’ after all!

According to TMZ, the thieves that stole the pearl-embellished dress that was said to be worth Kes 13 million, returned it after they realised it was as fake as a five thousand Kenyan note.

The thieves are said to have returned the dress to the London West Hollywood hotel after they took two pears to a Los Angeles’ garment district where they were told they weren’t real.

The annoyed thieves called America’s leading celebrity gossip blog, TMZ, and reported about the dress’ whereabouts. The thieves notified TMZ because they wanted the world to know the much publicized Lupita’s 6000 pearl-embellished dress was FAKE! Ujaluo nayo!
