For the past few days South Africa’s city of Durban has seen South Africans rise against foreigners, killing them and destroying their property all in the name of forcing them out of their land.

Horrific pictures from the killings where foreigners are set on fire have been doing round the social media, with many calling for an immediate end to the xenophobic killings.

And now the latest person to weigh in on the same is comedian Eric Omondi. Through one of his social media accounts Eric has posted a photo of a foreign burning down after being set on fire and lamented the unfortunate happenings in the South African city.

Eric has said that it is so regrettable that at this time and age some blacks are killing their own blacks simply because they are foreigners in their country.

He said:

Nairobi Governor, Dr. Evan Kidero, has been on the centre of controversies for some time now. He has been mocked, rebuked and cursed for his good deed that offended Nairobians. Ciku Muiruiri is the latest celebrity to throw a jab at him.

I think Kidero is now immune to all kinds of criticisms; all sorts of insults have been thrown at him that any addition doesn’t have an impact on him.

The ‘changaa’ drums he had placed on Nairobi’s roundabouts were the genesis of his woes. The tailbacks caused by his plan to decongest the city infuriated Nairobians who were stuck in traffic for hours resulting to the criticisms the embattle governor faced.

Ciku Muiruiri has also factored in her comment regarding Kidero’s drums. This was after a concerned Kenya proposed a solution to the drums.

The sketch made the former Classic FM presenter laugh her lungs out saying it was too real to be achieved in Kenya.

She wondered how Kidero could achieve such kind of dream when he spent Kes 40 million on mere drums. Oh! Have to admit I didn’t know drums were also that expensive!

Deep sigh. If only. We can dream. But if we spent 40 million on those drums – DRUMS! – This would theoretically cost what? LOL.

There is no doubt comedy pay bills but cracking jokes alone isn’t the only vehicle most comedians are relying on to ferry them to their seventh heaven.

This hard financial time calls for innovativeness and it seems Churchill Show comedian, Sleepy, has already discovered another profession to substitute his comedy career.

Believe it or not, Sleepy’s side hustle is mixing! Yes, the comedian is also good on the spinning decks. (Not confirmed.) As a matter of fact, he goes by the name VJ Sleepy.

Larry Madowo is among some of the most experienced news anchors in Kenya. And part of his experience is attributed to the Kenya Television Network where (KTN) where he worked as a business news reporter and anchor before switching allegiance to NTV.

It is been years since he left KTN for NTV and his experience has grown even further.

With his The Trend show which has since picked so well among many viewers, Larry has built a name for himself as one of the few revered journalists in the country and he seems not to flinch from doing his best each day.

And now, finally, after years and years of staying away from the Standard Group-owned TV station, Larry is making a grand comeback on KTN tonight.

Hold on. Larry has not left NTV for KTN.

It is his nemesis-turned-friend Jeff Koinange who has invited him to his bench on the JKL show where he hosts various guests every Wednesday and Thursday.

Koinange is repaying Larry after the latter hosted him on his the Trend Show on NTV where the two buried the hatchet after Jeff had previously mocked Larry.

The last time a female Kenyan celebrity described a Kenyan man, ‘major feelings were caught ‘.

This was because she (Ciku Muiruri) unapologetically called them penniless and mediocre looking. Further adding that they treat women like crap and that they should be bred out!

Following an attack on Garissa University College which left 147 people dead, the government quickly moved and suspended 86 individuals and forex bureaus whom it suspected were behind the financing of Al Shabaab who have continued to ravage the country with unnecessary killings.

And after the government started thorough investigations on the suspended entities, two directors of a blacklisted forex bureau have been found guilty after the court was told they were operating without a license.

The directors of the Sky Forex Limited have been charged for operating without a license. The two were charged at the Milimani Law Courts with transacting a foreign exchange business without a license from the Central Bank of Kenya.

The Banking Fraud Unit in an affidavit presented in court says that the two are being investigated for money laundering activities.

It was said that the suspects operate several bank accounts with Equity Bank.

Mr Abdi Rashid Jama Ibrahim and Mr Ali Mohammed Xirsi appeared in court early today to face the charges.

The prosecution’s application for a three day extended detention of the suspects was granted and the suspects are held at Kileleshwa Police Station.

The suspects were arrested on 12 this month at Rehema House, 5^th floor along Kaunda Street and police have been carrying out investigations.

The lively Sheila Mwanyigha once found herself in unfamiliar waters when she discovered she was the other woman in a relationship she seriously cherished.

She was speaking to Rashid Abdalla (Lulu Hassan’s husband) on his segment, ‘Swali Moja’. Sheila was deeply in love with the guy. She didn’t imagine for a second that she could be the other lady in the relationship.

Did she deliberately date someone’s man? Nope, she didn’t. The man was her first love, everything was running smoothly until the dude travelled abroad for further studies.

Easy FM’s Sheila Mwanyigha Reveals How She Was Once a “Side Dish”

Money and fame are intertwined and when they come, they do so with other very many benefits. Among them is massive transformation physically, spiritually, emotionally and materialistically.

This explains why the Rashid Abdalla (Q FM presenter and husband to Citizen TV’s Lulu Hassan) you know today is not the Rashid Ronald you will see in a photo he has just shared.

Well, for Rashid Abdalla, who is arguably one of the finest and most fluent Swahili Radio presenters, life has been a learning experience.

The Q FM presenter has shared a photo which seems to have been taken before the fame and money and which shows his humble beginnings.

The mention of terrorists in Kenya sends cold chills down the spines of many thanks to the deadly attacks the terrorists have carried within our terrorists, killing more than 300 people in less than two years.

The latest incident in which 147 people were massacred in Garissa is still fresh and scary among many Kenyans, with many still trying to come to terms with the loss of their loved ones.

This perhaps is what has prompted a business tycoon in Rongai, Nairobi, to introduce an ‘armoured’ matatu in a bid to scare away terrorists.

Photos we are in possession of show the matatu designed in a way that it looks of a military vehicle, all in the name of making terrorists believe it is a military guzzler.

For the better part of the week, rumors that Hussein Machozi died have been on heavy circulation on social media .

This is thanks to some rather gory photos of a dead person who was said to be Hussein making rounds on the internet. It was said that he had been involved in accident.

Speaking to Mzazi Willy Tuva, Hussein who is signed to Kenyan Record label ‘Candy and Candy’ denied these nasty rumors. Stating that these photos have seriously affected his mother and sister who passed out in shock and were admitted to a hospital thanks to the tragic news.

It’s arguably the country’s most lively show in the morning. Almost every time one boards a matatu to the CBD, it’s Classic FM that you will hear on the radio. But things may soon change if Francis Wangusi’s words are anything to go by.

Communication Authority Of Kenya’s (CA) Director General, Francis Wangusi, has decide to crack the whip on errant radio stations. Maina and King’ang’i’s show is likely to be affected most if Wangusi’s quest sees the light of the day.

The CAK published new rules that empower it to regulate media content. The proposed regulations seek to give the regulator powers to revoke the licences of radio and television stations that air adult-rated content between 5am and 10pm.

Most of the traffic at Classic FM comes from Maina and Mwalimu Kingangi’s show which flourishes as a result of discussing controversial topics revolving around matters sex.

The CA boss said once the proposed code comes into effect no radio station shall be allowed to broadcast or talk about sex during the watershed hours.

Maina’s loyal callers will soon be forced to find something else to talk about because interactive call-ins/discussion sessions whose contents are suitable for adult-only audiences are also prohibited by the proposed programming code.

Wangusi also put on notice the notorious stations that are fond of breaking all the rules in the books. Guess who he had in mind?

If these proposed codes are passed into law, Classic FM or rather Maina and King’ang’i will be forced to find alternative topic to discuss or rather shut the show altogether.

Kenya got shell shocked when Al Shabaab insurgents descended on Garissa University College a fortnight ago and killed 147 innocent Kenyans, among them 142 students of the university.

This prompted massive outcry worldwide with vigils held to remember the victims of the massacre.

Among those who organized events to commemorate the victims was activist Boniface Mwangi who has been holding a night vigil for the victims at the Freedom Corner in Uhuru Park, Nairobi and the other day he organized a concert to remember the deceased.

It is this concert that attracted the attention of the world and cast Boniface Mwangi into the limelight once again but for all the good reasons.

Congratulatory messages have been trickling in hailing Boniface as one of the best activists the country has ever seen.

And now four media personalities have pledged their support for Boniface, saying that they will always rally behind him after what he did at Uhuru Park.

Cleophas Awinja and Massawe Japanni of Milele FM, Wilbroda of Citizen and Jalang’o of Radio Maisha say that they will stand by Boniface Mwangi in all his engagements.

Awinja spoke on behalf of them all and said:

It is another year and it is the 20^th anniversary of the CNN Multichoice African Journalist awards, awards that are given to the most outstanding African journalists who have excelled in their professions.

The awards seek to recognize journalists whose work has been applauded world over and as had an impact in many people’s lives.

Kenya’s Joseph Mathenge is the current of the award after his images from the Westgate terror attack were recognized the world over after they were published by the Standard Newspaper.

Mathenge was immensely recognized for his role to create a clear picture of what transpired during the Westgate attack which left 67 people dead and several others injured.

KTN’s John Allan Namu has also won the award before thanks to his role as an investigative journalist who went to greater heights to uncover the most untold stories of our time.

And now 2015 is here.

The big question we are asking ourselves is, “Will a Kenyan journalist once again clinch the title?”

After years of working with Citizen, Alex Chamwada handed in his resignation in 2014 so as to venture into his own projects.

Fast forward to April this year, he made a grand comeback to where it all began KTN. Chamwada had worked in KTN between 2004and  2006 and will be coming back in a new show called The Diplomatic Narrative.

Now another person from Citizen TV’S Tahidi High has now pitched camp at KTN where she has played the role of Lynne, Doc’s love interest in the real Househelps of Kawangware.

A woman’s actual age is bound to be a sensitive matter when put into discussion. Especially if the woman is older. It’s quite obvious that as members of the female species age, they prefer keeping their ages classified. This always leads to speculation, approximations and estimations. So popular Classic 105 presenter Maina Kageni sat down and estimated that Diamond’s bae Zari Hassan’s age as 41 years.

Okay, estimation is not a sin. It’s totally fine to estimate but only if the actual bit of information or exact figure is unknown or debatable. Enter the problem. Zari’s age isn’t unknown or debatable. It’s public knowledge that she’s 34. The bio in her website clearly states so.

So why does Maina Kageni keeps reffering to her as a 41 year old woman every morning? Only the gods can tell us. The presenter has developed the habit of doing so after playing songs by Diamond- he loves playing songs by the Tanzanian star by the way. Maina loves Diamond. He’d kill a lion for Diamond. He’s always showering praises on Diamond like “What an artiste!!! What a true African man!! What a song!!!”. Then instead of just leaving things there, he finds it appropriate to say, “And yes, he’s expecting a child with his 41 year old Ugandan lover.”

Every man knows that it’s a crime to inflate a wopman’s age. When you tell her she looks 20 when she’s 30 she’ll jump on you with cute little pecks but when you refer to a thirty something lady as old, she will hate you forever. Yes she refereed to Maina as a bloated human. Meaning he’s full of himself and doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Women don’t like aging, they want to beautiful forever, Zari is mad because Maina’s huge fan base now believes she’s a despicable 41 year old woman who preys on young men – Madonna style. Note that Diamond is 25. I’ve been informed that she also went ahead to complain on air at a Ugandan radios station about why some men can’t handle the fact that she and Diamond are a happy couple. She went on to say how some age propagandists are calling her a granny and claiming she’s 40 or 50 while some are saying she has abandoned her kids

Zari has every right to be infuriated. Any woman would be. In fact, she should be commended for not blowing the whole issue out of proportion. As the gentleman he portrays himself, Maina should apologize on air. It’s just the right thing to do.

In a bid to rally the youth behind him since his popularity was waning, Kidero picked up one of Kenya’s ‘swaggiest’ musicians Prezzo to accompany him for a very important mission.

Prezzo joined Kidero and the Nairobi County Executive Roads Mohamed Abdulahi, Acting Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Public works, James Macharia and they toured the Southern bypass on Langata road to check on the status of its construction.
