It is a case of the hunter becoming hunted as EACC chairperson Mumo Matemu and his vice Irene Keino were suspended early today by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
In a twitter post by State House spokesperson Manoah Esipisu, the president has suspended the two pending investigations into corruption allegations leveled against them.
It is ironical that Mumo Matemu has been grilling prominent persons implicated in a corruption syndicate in a list tabled in parliament by President Uhuru Kenyatta late last month.
It is now his turn to face the axe as parliament continued to discuss his dismissal as the Commission’s chair.
Matemu has been embroiled in controversy this year especially when it emerged that his two assistants Prof. Jane Onsongo and Irene Keino had written to the president urging him to suspend him only to rescind their decisions.

Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo is one of the most vocal female MPs in the August House today. She has taken on her male colleagues head on for a while and even had an altercation with her party members a few months ago when she claimed that she acquired the ODM ticket to run for the parliamentary seat fraudulently.
Millie is a lawyer and behind her is a story that tells who Millie really is.
According to the Nairobian, the MP has come out to explain why she has no child of her own.
Millie is married to a Zimbabwean, Mr. Mabona, and she says that the distance between her and her foreign husband cannot allow them to have a child of her own. She also adds that she is not comfortable having a child with him and present it to Kenyans as their own child.
“One of the reasons I still don’t have a child is my lifestyle – I am married to non-Kenyan and I do not want to have a child with another man and purport to present it as my husband’s baby. Because of the distance and my age, we cannot have a child naturally, unless of course we go back to the biblical times of Abraham and Sarah. But miracles are in short supply nowadays,” Millie told the Nairobi.
Millie went on to share her secret with Taita Taveta women rep Joyce Lay. Lay is also said not to have a child of her own but one she got through assisted reproduction.
Millie also reveals that she always gets pressurized by her colleagues to have a child of her own.

The gospel industry has been in disarray after two of their youngest and most promising stars picked a fight in public.
Things got worse when Willy Paul decided to spite his frenemy Bahati by releasing song that had caused the fight to begin with. Yesterday, the two were reconciled during the biggest gospel award show in Kenya, the groove awards.
Willy had to say this about their reconciliation:
Veteran Genge singer Hebert Nakitale famously known as Nonini is a dejected man after what he says is a massive let down by fellow urban artistes.
The recently concluded Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) elections are the cause of Nonini’s indignation after his favourite candidate lost out to amateurs in the music industry.
Nonini locked horns with P-Unit’s Frasha when he drew a prank on April Fools’ Day, fooling Kenyans that Frasha had relinquished his desire to vie for the MCSK director seat in favour of his rival gospel songbird Lady Bee.
The self-proclaimed father of Genge had vehemently campaigned for Lady Bee but as things turned out, both Lady Bee and Frasha were beaten to the seat by one Mwalimu.
This has greatly angered Nonini who took to his facebook page to vent his anger at his fellow artistes. Nonini feels that Lady Bee lost because the established artistes failed to turn out to vote for their favourite candidates.
He says that it is a pity that they saw no importance of turning out for the elections but instead busied themselves with other things.

Alex’s sister has shared a photo of the two, a photo taken 20 years ago when Alex was a young boy babysitting his sister’s young boy.
Describing how Alex was then is a bit difficult but the photo speaks volumes. He was this young innocent boy whom then nobody thought he would grow to be the voice that Kenyans are so fond of thanks to its depth and the authority with which it is executed.

One of the country’s pioneer comedy series, Vioja Mahakamani, has been off air for some time now. Its loyal viewers can now breathe easy because it’s coming back!
The nation was shocked to awake up to the news that the entire cast of the old Vioja Mahakamani had been shown the door.
The national broadcaster, KBC, decided to get rid of the old hogs in order to inject fresh new blood into the comedy series.
The renaissance saw popular faces on the entertainment scene filling in roles the old cast used to play. Will they be captivating like them?
The new cast include; Nice Githinji, Dr. Ofweneke, Okal, Ayimba Irene, Nungo Marriannne, Julius Maasai among others.
But ever since the new cast was unveiled in February, it has taken them close to three months to get the comedy back on air.
Vioja Mahakamani will be hitting the screen starting this April the 26th. You can catch up with it on KBC this Sunday as from 7:30 PM.
When Emmy Kosgey finally married the man she loved, she had done so much as far as music is concerned and many of us feared that having married a West African, we would never see her and her sweet Kalenjin tracks again.
We were literally worried that the Nigerian culture she had been introduced to would absorb her from us and completely swallow her prowess as one of the most talented Kenyan local singers.
How wrong we were to date is incomprehensible.
Emmy Kosgey has proved us wrong even when we spent most of our time speculating of a possible break up with her husband, Pastor Madibuko. Rumours littered the air that Emmy was divorcing Madibuko, but the iron lady came out and strong denied the allegations and effectively cleared the air.
Away from that, Emmy has once again demonstrated that East, West, home is always best. Neither did she succumb to culture shock. Her native Kenyan culture is still freshly embedded in her heart, soul and mind.
This has been demonstrated in a new jam that she released a week ago, a jam done in her native Kalenjin language.
Just like the Taunet Nelel or the Ategsin jam, this latest release which she calls Obwa is a definite hit. You won’t believe this? Only time will tell.
Obwa is a song that speaks about a sinful nation full of corruption and bribery and all manners of iniquities. It is a jam that tells the nation to turn back to the Lord to seek forgiveness and as true as the word of God is, their sins will be cleared completely.

It is the first time that the gospel star has gone public with his mother! She claimed to be just another woman next door trying to raise her children but there were a bunch of people who were using Jihad as an excuse to commit atrocities. She demanded change and we urge all Kenyans and especially muslims to join in.

The attack on Garissa University College three weeks ago sent shivers down the spines of Kenyans, with many becoming increasingly cautious with their movements and associations.
The police have also been on high alert after it was established that terrorists are still planning to attack Kenyans even more. This explains why even a single incident cannot be taken for granted by the police.
However, what is now baffling many is the manner in which the authorities are conducting their operations. It seems the wrong people are being targeted as culprits roam freely amidst us.
We are justified to say this after a Nairobi-based photographer who adds up as an artiste was taken into police custody on suspicion of being a terrorist. Worse still is that the artiste is still languishing in Lang’ata police cells after the police refused to release him even after they were told the truth.
Msingi Sasis Bekko was arrested yesterday as he took photos at the Galleria Mall in Karen on suspicion that he was a terrorist. Msingi is a Nairobi Noir photographer and all he was doing was his job.
In a letter addressed to activist Boniface Mwangi by the victim’s brother, Msingi is still being held at Lang’ata Police station and fears that he might disappear because it has happened to others before.
His family fears for their son’s life and the manner in which the police are handling him is just pathetic.

And Tv stations know it, thus the coming of Telemundo to DSTV. And they have something pretty superb for those that love their soap operas
Telemundo’s latest telenovelas Queen Of Hearts and Part of Me is set to capture more hearts and grip fans of DStv 118, this April and May with intriguing story lines and favourite familiar Telemundo faces.
Queen of Hearts premieres on 27th April at 17:10 is set in the glitzy “Sin City” of Las Vegas and features the hit theme song by Latino superstar Enrique Iglesias “Bailando.” Lead actor Eugenio Siller’s (Aurora) song: “Te Espare” also features in this bittersweet love story of two doomed lovers.
Reina Ortiz, played by Telemundo newcomer Paola Núñez is a modern day Cinderella, orphaned and living a simple life with her difficult stepmom and stepsister. She meets and falls madly in love with valet – Nicolas Núñez played by Siller, who is waiting to change his luck by winning a big poker game. Tragedy strikes on their wedding day, when groom Nicolas does not show up for his wedding.
Reina then suffers a terrible accident resulting in her losing her memory.
Reina loses eight years of her life and wakes up to find she has a husband and daughter she doesn’t recognize and a life of power and luxury she can’t begin to understand. Now Reina will have to reconstruct her past, slowly piecing together the puzzle in an atmosphere of secrets, traps and deceit.

The second telenovela to launch will be the supernatural thriller Part Of Me starting on Telemundo on 11th May at 16:20. It features Telemundo talents familiar to SA audiences, viz. David Chocarro from Someone’s Watching, as Diego Ochoa and Jorge Luis Pila from Aurora, playing Gerardo Fonsi / Juan Gerardo Suárez.
The premise of this telenovela is that two women, one from Los Angeles and the other from Mexico share a tragic and supernatural destiny that bind them together even after death. Laura Flores is Monica Serrano, a world-renowned LA pianist with an impressive fortune who dies after the betrayal of her ambitious and deranged niece Elena, and the man she loved, the much younger husband, Gerardo.
But by way of a mysterious talisman, Monica’s soul, does not want to accept her death and begins to occupy the body of Adriana Aguila, played by María Elisa Camargo, a modest waitress who has died at the hands of a dangerous gangster. In Adriana’s body, Monica’s soul will do the impossible to defend her children and seek justice to avenge her death, while Adriana’s soul wanders hoping to reconcile with her the love of her life, Diego.

Ambia Roy like 25 Years old? With dreams the size of elephants up his young back the young entrepreneur ventured out on a niche that no one else had thought of before, he started the Kenyan Fashion online magazine.
In a country that did not exactly glorify fashion save for a few fashion bloggers who were still trying to carve a niche for themselves,
Roy gathered into his lair, a formidable team of fashion connoisseurs: Writers, models, designers and photographers. A team that would provide the much needed wholesome fashion content that the Fashion circle so desperately needed.

One of the most listened to and revered radio shows in the country, the Gidi and Ghost show, on radio Jambo is on the brink of extinction following an imminent departure of one of its founders and drivers Gidi Ogidi.
The show has established itself as one of the most popular among Kenyans thanks to the genius of Gidi Ogidi and his co-host Jacob Ghost Mulei.
However, the show on Radio Jambo is likely to take a new look after Ghafla! Kenya exclusively learnt that its main host Joseph Gidi Ogidi, the Unbwogabble hit maker, is set to leave at the end of his contract.
Ghafla Kenya has exclusively obtained a letter Gidi wrote to the Radio African Group Human Resource Manager requesting that he leave the station in the next 6 months after his contract expires.
Gidi says in the letter that he will also be relieved in case the HR considers terminating his contract at this stage but be paid in the period it will stand until its completion.
“It is with regret that with this letter I tender my resignation from your employment and therefore giving up my post of Radio Jambo presenter observing 6 months’ notice from the date of the letter as per the terms and conditions of my contract of employment. Should you wish to forfeit this period of worked notice I would be willing to exchange the period for paid absence,” reads part of the letter we are in possession of.
Gidi has been one of the most vocal and listened to radio personalities in the country and his departure from the station will definitely come with its consequences.
When we contacted Gidi for comment, he simply said:
“I cannot deny or accept the information at this moment but Kenyans will know everything in the near future”.
When Judith Nyambura Mwang debuted into the limelight with her song ‘Mama’ amny fell in love with the baby faced singer and her high-pitched voice.
Her breakthrough was however in 2010, following her collaboration with A.Y on his hit single “Leo” and since then she has gone on to produce various singles, some of them have done really well.

Born and raised in Nairobi, Stanje Mgenge moved to Australia in 2013 to pursue further studies. Staying true to his passion, Stanje ventured into music and has released his first single dubbed ‘Blank Space’, the song is Gospel-ish…though he’s not a gospel singer per say. But who said you have to be a gospel artiste to give thanx to the Lord?? He may not be a gospel artiste, but Stanje does believe in the Lord and that’s all that matters if you ask me.
In the song, Stanje thanks Him for the far He has brought him, through the rough journey that has been his life, he’s a better person now than where he was and that’s all thanx to God. He actually bares all the ups and downs he has undergone thus far.
The song was recorded and mixed by WOLALI who owns Black Empire Studios. Wolali is born West Africa (Togo) though he’s now settled in Australia since 2008. He is well known for his Media Production company called ‘Black Empire Studios’ and also happens to be a talented artiste. Wolali is the perfect example of a Jack of All Trades, his artistic ways cuts across; Painting, Designing, Composing, Song Writer, Sound Engineer and Filmmaker. With his roots at heart, Wolali gives back to people from African Community living in Australia through the Adelaide Community. His real name is Fofo Folly.
Aside from songs, Stanje has also been featured in a short film titled Left Out, in which he played one of the lead roles. Though in Australia, Stanje stays true to his home country, giving respect to Nonini and Juacali for their songs while labeling the rest of Kenya artistes as ‘noisemakers’. Not forgetting Rabbit has been and always will be his favorite artiste and role model when it comes to music. He actually dedicates a whole line to him, whispering a prayer for his sickened mother, information he picked up from Kaka Sungura’s song ‘Kafiri’. And without fail, fake pastor Kanyari was mentioned.
Unlike the usual norms we see from Kenya’s who leave the country even for a weekend and come back with an accent, Stanje hasn’t lost his Kiswahili touch! 2yrs later, the man still speaks well Swahili and Sheng. Dear fake people, please learn a thing or two.

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko locked horns with former Kiss 100 presenter Caroline Mutoko two years ago when she bashed the senator for giving handouts to Nairobians instead of offering long term solutions that would change their lives for good.
This did not go down well with the senator who called Caroline names on radio and their relationship worsened afterwords, with comedian Chipukeezy finding himself being dragged into the squabble for allegedly eyeing Sonko’s daughter.
And after Caroline Mutoko, another journalist has bashed Sonko for his continued engagements of giving ‘handouts’ to Nairobians through his Sonko Rescue Team.
The SRT has caused a buzz in the city, with many wondering how and where the philanthropic politician is getting his wealth from.
In a detailed piece, Nairobian’s Joseph Mboya disagrees with Sonko’s freebies he has giving Nairobians at the expense of long term solutions such as good hospitals, schools and other developments.
Mboya is not the only one bashing the senator. Several other politicians have expressed their displeasure at what the senator is doing, terming it a con syndicate aimed at blinding Kenyans as their money is being embezzled.
“Sonko Rescue Team is a case of rogue charity,” Mboya gives this title to his insightful piece.

“It has occurred to me that the black man is not a human BEING.” Nancy says in her opening sentence in an article published by the Standard.
The beautiful Ugandan news anchor is clearly disgusted by the manner in which black Africans are handling themselves in the face of the world.
This comes after South Africans rose against their fellow Africans who are foreigners in their country in what is seen as xenophobic attacks meant to chase them away from South Africa.
Nancy says that it is a pity that as Africans we are rising against each other because we believe that black people are not human beings like white people.
“It has occurred to me that the black man is not a human BEING. Because he has failed to just BE. For so long he has seen himself as black. And nothing else. He has failed to develop his identity beyond that, his identity is always dependent on someone else’s.”
Nancy says that as black Africans, we should be ashamed of our activities just like we are ashamed of our black skin. She wonders why we think our black skin is a shame to the world when we should be proud of it instead.
“We loathe the blackness of our skin because it is a badge of shame. The blacker the skin, the blacker the shame. It’s so bad that we come up with terms like “lightskin” to refer to those who are lucky enough to be one degree removed from the extremity of our shame.”
