Today marks a grand day in Kenyan History

Over the weekend, Lupita flew into the country successful evading the media during her sister Esperanza’s wedding ceremony.

The wedding took place at the Great Rift Valley Lodge where employee phones were impounded to avoid any leakage of the photos to the press.

In fact the only photos the public got to see were the ones shared by the official wedding photographer. And we wondered if Lupita had actually come to the country or it was just unfounded information since people could not spot her in the wedding photos.

But upon further scrutiny, there she was blending in to the bridal team, and she looked really nice, though a bit different  from the Lupita we know

Last Saturday, Citizen TV’s bombshell Janet Mbugua said ‘I do’ to one lucky man.

Dressed in a pristine white lacey mermaid gown with a long train, Janet was so elegant and one could not help exclaiming that Eddie was indeed a lucky man.

But despite it being their big day, the two were not the only ones attracting the crowds as there were two other people stealing the show. Two tiny tots, Zawadi and Raha who are daughters to Eddie’s twin brother and Grace Msalame looked positively ravishing in their matching outfits and well braided hair.

At one point or another, a Kenyan has partaken of the ‘Holy Herb’, ‘Mary Jane ‘or ‘Ganja’ if you please. But while some just dabble with it for others it’s a serious problem.

NACADA chairman John Mututho revealed that the worst weed smokers in the country come from the coastal town of Malindi. They smoke so much weed that the highest number of Cannabis smokers come form the region and the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse chairman called it the worst situation in the country.

In addition, the youths also use Hashish which Wikipedia describes as “a sticky, thick, dark-colored resin (like sap) which is made from the flower of the female cannabis plant, Cannabis sativa. The name hashish comes from an Arabic word meaning dry weed. Hashish has much more of the chemical THC (which makes users feel good or happy) than marijuana.)

The reason for this rampant use is because in that area “, cocaine and heroin are expensive. Therefore the youths fall for the cheaper stuff due to its affordability”.

To curb this grave situation, NACADA intends on setting up Rehabilitation Facilities before things go to the dogs, with one Rehab center being set up at the cost and the other in Central

Last Saturday,a new face was introduced to Kenya’s media Industry. A fresh face full of buoyancy and life…A face that had braved weeks of a grueling TV show competition to emerge as the Ultimate Presenter.

Jamal, buoyed by his slinky looks,sharp dressing sense,sonorous voice and ebullient smile,entered the competition sure of not just breezing his way through to the finals but also ultimately clinching the crown…And walking away as a winner. And sure enough, this sleek fashionista blew away the judges so much so that,on 30^th May 2015,at a fun-filled, confetti-flooded,albeit tense Final Live Show on KTN,Jamal was declared the Winner Of The Presenter show…In The Entertainment category.

After the sweet victory,Jamal set out straight to work…And he’s the freshest face-and voice-on our TV screens now.

Jamal,a ladies killer and a clear Judges’ favorite was born in Malindi but after 12 years,he moved to Kitui from where he finished his Primary and Secondary education before moving to Nairobi and did Public Relations at Graffins College and later Joined KEMU University from where he is still pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Arts and Journalism course. Currently, Jamal is a third year student.

Growing up,Jamal used to play football…And it’s the one sport he totally loved and adores with all his heart. Actually,his prowess in football was so good that his friends had nicknamed him BAROS after a Liverpool player before been nicknamed Didier Gadda yet again after the Ivorian football legend. And that still explains why Jamal is a diehard Chelsea fan…

This new spanking TV superstar spends his spare time traveling, swimming, going out with pals ,making new friends and playing Play Station.

Jamal’s greatest dislikes is being misunderstood (Awww),being judged by his appearance and actually prefers to be judged by his family and friends because those are the people who, according to him, actually do know him.

Jamal is also very religious-He’s Muslim-and prays five times a day! Five times!

Celebrated and veteran show host Jeff Koinange has been a man under siege ever since he was accused of court contempt a few weeks ago.

The journalist was arrested and arraigned in court where he was required to appear but once again failed to do so.

And now the court has fined the journalist 2M shillings together with his fellow accused Tony Gachoka. The two also face a possible 6 month jail term if they fail to part with the money.

Jeff had been warned not discuss a matter about a certain company but went ahead and invited Tony Gachoka with whom they discussed the matter.

This prompted the court to issue a warrant of arrest against the journalist.

Rashid Abdalla and his wife Lulu Hassan are one celebrity couple that everybody admires so much and would want to emulate when they finally marry. They have been together since the turn of 2010 and they seem to be enjoying every moment they live. With two kids, the couple is surely an admiration.

But it is turning out that there is so much we don’t know about these media personalities. And we could start off from the year 2007 when they met and got engaged after only two weeks of knowing each other well. That was a risk worth it.

Anne Kansiime is the queen of comedy and has become popular thanks to her antics and charming nature. But do not be fooled by her smile and hilarious shenanigans on You Tube, she bites. She is what Muhammad Ali would call “one that dances like a butterfly and stings like a bee”.

While she was in Johannesburg performing, the Rich Gang duo walked on stage but Kansiime declined from handing over the microphone to Ivan in fact she called King Lawrence Ivan’s “backup dancer.”

Spited, King Lawrence decided to make it rain on Kansiime letting money fly all over the stage, but Kansiime remained unfazed saying “These guys are very good, they are here to offer me free security, so no one can touch me!”

 

But it did not end there as Kansiime was not done with them and called them Sangomas (Withdoctors ) saying “no wonder as I checked in at the airport, they thought I was a sangoma like these guys. They thought I was also here to shake calabashes. Please send the money home your people need it.” Kansiime said.

Now it was Ivan’s turn to try and impress or intimidate Kansiime, and he threw money at her but she walked off the podium and insisted on following her. But the drama did not end there and there was drama offstage when Kansiime let the show organizers have it in a Facebook post.

“Having showed up with the love and paid highly to enjoy your evening only to be disrespected by amateur organization, poor sound, and a very unapologetic and unremorseful promoter, I feel sorry for my fans,”

Kenyans on social media have had one of the most scintillating yet shameful week following tweefs between Capital FM producer Joe Muchiri and socialite Huddah Monroe.

Huddah particularly called Joe all sorts of names, forcing us to cover our faces in shame. Like it was not enough, her followers joined in to bash the big Joe.

The producer reiterated though in a soft way and by yesterday, Huddah had recoiled to her cocoon, surrendering to the bombshells that dropped from Joe’s clique.

And as the dust settles down, Capital blog has jumped to the defence of Joe Muchiri. Through an article titled Lessons From Huddah Monroe Vs Joe Muchiri Tweef, the writer wonders why one would display their body publicly shamelessly and when questioned all she does is post unpalatable words.

The later seems to take a dig at Huddah for displaying herself in a manner unacceptable within our confines.

In fact this is the same question Joe asked and which triggered the tweefs.

Huddah is spending her time in Uganda currently where she is believed to be seeing the sponsors she advised ladies to have.

 

 

Felix Kiprono has been making news the world over thanks to what he asked for from President Barack Obama. The Ruto lawyer requested the US president to allow him have his daughter as the wife when she turns 18, something that has gotten everyone the world over speaking about it.

In fact the news has been published and broadcasted on various media channels across the globe. Felix said he is ready to part with 50 cows, goats and sheep as dowry for the lovely Malia.

And as this petered away, a Kenyan lady popped up and penned a letter to Felix, urging him to ignore Malia and instead marry her because she has always loved him.

Anne Kioko caused a stir on the social media when she said:

I write this letter with a lot of expectations and prayers for a positive response. I live in a simple house in the outskirts of Nairobi and have to wake up very early to go to work to avoid traffic jam, but I am not always lucky in the evenings. I am a 27 year old, beautiful, single Kamba lady but I have been raised in Nyahururu. I am well educated and cultured, with almost (the) same complexion as Malia and a beautiful smile. One of my Kalenjin friends has taught me how to prepare Mursik and cook brown Ugali. Actually we could start some business of exporting milk to other counties, I am a very hardworking woman and within no time we will build our own white house. Kiprono, please recall the offer to President Obama and consider my application, we can explain to him when he comes to Kenya.”

She urged Felix to consider marrying him and quash his desire for Malia Obama. Anne has, however, refuted claims that he wanted Felix. She instead says she was mocking him indirectly because it was unrealistic for him to leave beautiful ladies in Kenya and go for Malia.

Felix has, however, stood his ground and said his desire to marry Malia is so high that no one will break it. He says he saw the letter Anne wrote her but he ignored it because he was focused.
