Lizz Ntonjira is fairing impressively well in her endeavors eight months down the line after she called it quit at the Kimathi Street based TV station.
So where was she all this while, perhaps working at another prestigious Western media? The former NTV anchor is now a student in the US.
Lizz left NTV to pursue her education abroad at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, USA.
Her stint in the university has seen her sharing stage with the world’s most powerful man at a conference that was held in Washington DC.
The former NTV anchor was among speakers that took to the podium to address audience at the Presidential Summit, Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders Initiative.
The summit is flagship program of President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) that empowers young people through academic coursework, leadership training, and networking.
Lizz was representing her university at the event. She took on the stage, the same that President Obama used earlier, to address the audience.
Her speech centered around women empowerment, she narrated her own story.
“I speak not for myself but for the voiceless, those that are continually sidelined and frowned upon because of their marital status. Their right to dignity. Their right to equal recognition and those like me, who have to vociferate from the rooftop to be heard.” Lizz Ntonjira.
