Look At How Poor And Weather beaten Wyre And Bigted Were Back In The Day. (photo)

Before Wyre became a superstar that he is today, he was just another regular guy with a powerful voice clamoring for a big-break.

The big break came soon soon enough. But before that, allow us to introduce Big Ted, a man that looks and sounds just like his name. Big Ted of old was a scrawny, ashen and completely weatherbeaten man who later made it to the big league.

If you have been lucky enough to bump into him lately, you will be mesmerized by his choice of dapper bespoke suits, pocket-kerchiefs and pricey Italian shoes.

Today, We flash it back to the day when Big Ted was a promoter and working with Wyre. Who knew they’d become so big?

7 Photos That Prove That Hope Kid Has The Hottest ‘Wifey’ In The Game. She Looks Like An American Video Vixen

From a distance, Hopekid is usually very calm and collected; he is not all over the place embroiled in controversy or showing aggressiveness. But do not be fooled by the calm demeanor.

Don’t let the sweet look hoodwink you as when it comes to bagging a hot lady, Hopekid is really aggressive (in a good way). Just look at this super cute mami he is dating, she has one of those American video vixen bodies.

Her name is Yvonne Orio and just like the cookie/biscuit her name sound like, she is really a sight for sore eyes

Look! The Man Who is Responsible For Mugo’s Woes Was A Former Friend! (photo)

Yesterday Mugo Wa Wairimu paraded on social media, the man who had him undone.  In an update filled to the brim with bile, Mugo said “The devil incarnate behind the malicious allegations. Let him come out now that I’m safely in police hands…”

The man, who bespectacled photo was paraded online for all to see used to be an employee at Prestige Clinic before he was fired. We obtained a photo of him and Mugo at what seems like a work meeting in an eatery.

This leaves a few questions unanswered and  few speculations. Was the jilted former employee so mad at Mugo that he would do anything to see the man that had fired him go down?

That, like other unanswered questions shall all come to light in good time. 11988211_1145859492095633_1982620382611405273_n.jpg

This Is How Long Mugo Wa Wairimu Will Be In Custody After His Arrest #‎DoctoredAbuse‬

After being under the glare of the limelight for close to two months, Neno Evangelism Pastor Ng’ang’a got some sort of reprieve after Mugo Wa Wairimu jumped onto the hot seat.

Mugo stands accused of taking advantage of his unquestioning patients by sedating them then raping them. After a painstaking cat and mouse game with the police, Mugo was finally taken into custody yesterday.

According to Robert Alai, Mugo is expected to remain there for the next two weeks as authorities carry on with the investigations

“Prosecution allowed detaining Mugo Wa Wairimu for 14 more days as investigations continue. “posted Alai.

Alai is of the opinion that Mugo’s lawyer might be his own undoing. Writing this “I wish that he knew how serious his case is for him to get a better lawyer. That Macharia guy won’t help him much.

Just the Place to Turn Up! Beautiful People, we Are Having a ‘Karaoke Pool Party’ Tonight.

Nothing quite captures the party night life more vividly than the sake-soaked image of drunken “salarymen” crooning & shaking their bodies like they are having an episode of epilepsy only to figure out they are dancing to Queen B’s most loved song “Drunk in Love”.  And not for the first and most definitely not last tim

Once in a while we need a night twisted with insanity and loads of fun to keep us in check. It’s but our right.

Tonight we turning up the party heat a little bit different, with Karaoke + pool party. Ain’t a fun of pools…i get jitters! I FEAR drowning! However, I love seeing people having the confidence to croak their night away hogging the mic like their life depended on it (smiley face). Since not all of us can pass through the scrutiny of judges at ‘The Voice’, lets just settle with what we have.

The beautiful Wakesho shall be tonight’s host of the most anticipated event. Party in the diaspora will be held at at Sepeko Pool Bar and Lounge, the very prestigious The Smith Hotels, Rongai.

Party starts at 9pm and ones and two’s will be DJ Krystals.

Experience this and much more, free of charge.

Come ready to let loose, sing and dance all night!

Making It As A Kenyan Artist Is Not Easy, and This Is What Some Resort To…

The hustle is real; Making it in the Showbiz industry is obviously not a joke. However, it is rarely in the open just how far most of these artists go to maintain the glitz. Most will tell you they are being real but we all know that’s a lie.

No artist will be caught out plain or leading ‘kawaida lifestyle’ in the name of being real. There are all these games from car to shoe not even mentioning the basic video and song production. It is no coincidence then that most of those yet to make it will indulge in any other side business to make ends meet. Muki Garangm WAPI co-founder, poet and hip hop artiste is open enough to admit this in his post below;

Did Kenya’s Richest Female Singer Use Nigerian Voodoo To Acquire Her Enormous Wealth? She Speaks Out

The claim that people have consulted with witch doctors and maybe sold their soul to the devil has become some sort of cliché.

Yes, there are those who resort to traditional shamen or sell their soul to the devil but not everyone who is rich got their money in a twisted way.

Churchill Show Comedian Caught On Camera Passionately Kissing Mejja’s Super-Hot Girlfiend (Photos)

Owago Onyiro teetered into the limelight by pushing the envelope and cracking jokes that were too hot for TV. Jokes so dirty, that his clips were often blue-penciled from the main clips for having language that should not be broadcastbefore the watershed on TV.

But we all know that people love their dirty jokes and that is why Owago has become such a big name in comedy and also it does not hurt to have Jalang’o as your mentor.

The young man who is currently riding high on his phrase ‘ichieni’ celebrated a new year. And as celebrities do, his party was fun and a bit crazy. From getting showered with alcohol

And then to kissing girls including Mejja’s girlfriend, Owago really had a blast! So how did Owago end up kissing Miss Erica Tafari?

The MC asked if any woman wanted to kiss Owago, the floor was open. A fan came out and kissed him and shortly after Erica took to the stage and planted a wet one on him. People could not believe their eyes, but it happened and we have the pictures thanks to one Fred Lamecki.

This Is The Blunder Citizen Pulled On The Ruto and Sang ICC Case

To err is part of the human make up. In journalism, errors abound and there are those which are simple slights of a strained hurried mind like typos, misspelled names and wrong dates.

However, when you mislead an entire nation on a legal fact form an international court with a bearing of nation importance, it has got to take some painful self-pinching. Sure there were other media houses too that fell for it but the number of times they reproduced the wrong information and the clout they have demands a bigger stick be used on them.

Here is their blunder in different shades…

James Smart at It Again, This Time Correcting Citizen’s Huge Blooper That Misled Most Of The Country

It is certainly becoming a hobby of his I guess, as James Smart, keeps taking journalists through their mistakes day after day. sure we all make mistakes but huge bloopers however embarrassing on the unfortunate person of the day are pretty humorous. After correcting a correspondent from the Star probably suffering from delusions of self grandeur, James Smart, (an accomplished journalist in every sense of the word) was at it again. This time the unfortunate victim was Citizen TV, the country;s most viewed station.

On such a a sensitive topic, and by virtue of the sheer number of people relying on them for information you would expect them to be a tad sharper, but it appears the itch to be the ones ‘Breaking’ the news was too hot to resist. Citizen TV, pulled a blooper of the ages and the ever watchful James Smart was at hand to correct them. here is his post;

Conspiracy Theory of The Day: First Mumias Sugar Now Someone is Messing with #Kakamega Chickens!!!

When I first heard sometime in August that the Kakamega County Governor had declared a state of emergency on a shortage of chicken in the county I laughed it off. This was clearly a case of some governor up to mischief and seeking ways to bloat or account to budgetary misappropriations.

Now it seems the soft spoken guy was serious. As someone from the county, I feel justified to use the perennial political fallback line ‘someone is out to finish us’ (culturally, socially and totally).

Two things are always present in any homestead in Kakamega and to a larger extent, the Western region, a few plants of sugar cane and some fowls, that the demand should be that high to get to an emergency situation is close to fictional at the very least. Listening to the suggestions being offered as a solution the whole conspiracy plan becomes clearer. There is a plan to finish the indigenous species and feed us with those broilers in an attempt to tame the free creative and assertive Luhya spirit. The idea of improved kienyeji breed does not even start holding water, ati they are softer to cook! Something is a foot #KakamegaChickens

This Young Man Needs 3.5 Million For A Kidney Transplant. Can You Help Him?

Kenyans are known to have big hearts .Hearts so big that they give generously when it comes those in need. Despite all our differences, we unite to help the sick, fight for justice or feed those in drought or war-stricken areas.

A courtesy we extend to our neighbors as they seek refuge from their war—torn countries. And that is why 32 year old Steve Alex Muchiri is reaching out to Kenyans for their help. He is looking for financial aid to enable him to have a kidney transplant since he has End Stage Renal Disease –ERN.

Steve narrates his story to Ghafla.

“Around two and a half years ago, I started experiencing high blood pressure whose cause was still a mystery. But we went to a hospital where they administered medicine for the condition.

The drugs administered then failed to control the pressure so we had to seek for more help. A doctor from Mater Hospital in South B performed a kidney biopsy which revealed I had mild sclerosis (formation of tiny scars inside my kidney walls)” he says.

Before adding that “The doctor attempted to rectify the situation using medicine such as Nebulet and Asppersoline to no avail as the blood pressure still spiked. Things got worse in late November of 2014 a situation that was worsened by the onset of muscle cramps especially during the night or when I rested.

I sought help from various hospitals including Agha Khan and after some evaluations the consulted renal specialist dropped the devastating news that I had signs of kidney failure. And they advised I start on dialysis which I have been on ever since.

In the event I fail to have a kidney transplant then I will be hooked to the dialysis machine for the rest of my life, a process that cost a whoping 100,000.Luckily my family members were willing to donate a kidney and one of them was my sister whom we belong to the same blood group. However before I get her kidney some tests need to be performed to establish whether the kidney was compatible with my body. The whole kidney transplant process expected to take place in India will cost 3.5 million Kshs.”

The patient

Steve has been on maintenance dialysis for the last 6 months since January 2015 at PCEA Kikuyu Hospital and Chogoria Mission Hospital. He needs 800,000 thousand for pre-transplant tests and procedures, 2.5 million for the transplant and fees, 300, 000 for return air tickets for three people and 200, 000 for accommodation and upkeep.

If you can help in any way kindly contact his family on 0721227826 or  send money to Paybill Number 558854

After Mugo wa Wairimu’s Arrest, Here Are Five Other Things Kenyans Can’t Wait To See Happen

For a moment, it seemed as if Kenya’s most wanted man (by public demand) Mugo wa Wairimu was going to go scott free and not even see the inside of a police station. This is especially after the cops pulled their clichéd excuse of carrying out investigations and looking for the suspect.

Sure, this may all be an act and in the end be a chasing after the wind but at least, Mugo wa Wairimu can be termed as being arrested. In the light of this much awaited action, here are five other things Kenyans would be eager/thrilled to see happen

#1. Teachers get their full pay rise. Aside from getting all the young lasses and lads out of sight for at least three months, it would basically ensure we never hear a pay strike again. Boring as the prospect maybe it will be good for a change.

#2. Donald Trump Fails at the primaries. He has turned himself from some respect icon by many on the entrepreneurship lane to our version of foreign enemy. A defeat would do much good.

#3. Ruto’s ICC case verdict. I know Sang is there too but he hardly makes the headlines and few give as much as a tut about him. Whatever the decision it will be long coming and change quite a lot.

#4. The local premier league ends. It has been a one horse march leave alone a race. With the green army thrashing team after team their fans can’t wait for the champions to tie it up with the unbeaten record still intact while the rest of us just want our quiet time and peace back, and forget KPL even exists.

#5. Jehovah’s Wanyonyi resurrection. Just for the laughs and the reaction it may cause. I know three days are done but this guy had his own swag you just never know. See the swag below;

Five Most Underrated Artists In Kenya

Attention somehow escapes the most deserving issues and people. In the entertainment scene, a queer taste either on the part of listeners or whoever plays the role of the gatekeeper in the industry leads to the aforementioned distortion. In attempt to right this wrong, I highlight below a list of eight most underrated artists in Kenya.

Here we go

1. Kayvo-Kforce

kforce_3.jpg

No he is not your kawaida underground artist and I doubt he refers or considers himself as such. His talent, relevancy and the sheer number of songs he has out put many of the artists who hog the limelight to shame. That he ranks with among the top in lists of the best rappers and hip hop artists anywhere and yet videos get minimal views and it is rare to hear his songs on radio/ TV is equally dumbfounding. Whether rapping in English or Swahili he is adept in getting the message home whatever the topic. He is in my very informed opinion the MOST underrated artist in Kenya period. Check out his recent video  Don’t Play

2. Fena Gitu

fena.jpg

If Kevoh is the most underrated artist in the country, Fena is the most underrated female artist. In a country constantly depraved and craving for fresh female talents it beyond comprehension and smacks of a conspiracy!! Being on Coke studio is not enough don’t get even there. I mean why is she not like she bust on to the sane this year, and the lass can sing, rap anything from afro to soul to hip hop and pretty sure anything in between. We Kenyans…. At least she made the trend hence the reason her collaboration with Wangechi has more views in a short time than previous and more outstanding work. Check out two of my favorites; Fenamenal woman and Jabulani

3. Smallz lethal

smallz_lethal.jpg

He has been receiving some media love of late but still it is not enough. The one half of Washamba Wenza, Smallz Lethal is someone who should be dominating the scene and his not doing so is not due to lack of the right effort. From the groups’ hits like Usijichoche to his recent solo projects the there is no reason to explain why the artist has been kept out. His vernacular rap makes Kisii the sweetest language around. ‘My City’ is my favorite check it out and yes it is in Kisii.

4. Kagwe Mungai

 kagwe_mungai.jpg

Before you start accusing me of having too much Hip-Hop on the list, here is a crooner with international class written all over his songs and videos. Kagwe Mungai’s songs are playful in a poetic way(sh**t what does that mean?) you know what I mean. He can sing, he is diverse, has great videos and makes average songs great when doing collaborations. Somehow those whose songs he improves get more limelight than him!!! This guy is simply underrated… check out Bad Girls

5. Naomi Wachira

naomi_wachira.jpg

The saving grace of my list is that aside from the first artist, it was not ranked otherwise I do not know what I would feel having my Naomi Wachira as the last on it,…unless I was saving the best for the last. This lady can really sing and any of her songs will fit perfectly in your playlist. There is too much of her work to go around and as the established trend I share my favorite ‘I Believe’ when all adornments are torn away from music, I believe that’s how it would sound like.

Have I left someone out? Reach out and lets appreciate quality music.

Mzungu Millionaire Horrifies Many As He Dumps His ‘High Maintenance’ Wife On Facebook

Break ups are rarely easy, but they are especially hard when your lover publicly denounces you to random strangers, family and friends without any chills.

A certain Kenyan woman was recently denounced by her German Husband on Facebook.  Pleschke Heinz-Georg the alleged CEO and founder of Dauerurlauber, claims that his pretty young thing has been unfaithful and has swindled him off some money amounting to One Million.

The grave announcement was made with this Facebook post “All friends, note. After the unfortunate incidents in recent weeks, caused by the unlawful conduct before my wife…, I hereby give official separation from her known. From now on, I take no liability for all her financial or other transactions. I wish her all the best for the future. But please, do not come back.”

lesk.jpg

The wife then replied angrily with “I don’t argue with fools. I am your third wife by law without counting girlfriends in between. Does it mean every woman you met is bad? Go to court and apply for a divorce. Facebook won’t help you in any way.” much to the entertainment of their Facebook friends and prying Kenyans.

According to Citizen, the elderly man claims that the battle which has now escalated to Facebook started out when he withdrew about a Million Kshs from the bank and gave it to the wife. The money was used to be used to purchase a car she badly wanted.

xtrail_for_woman.jpg

Could this be the car he wanted to buy her?

The money was left in her care and he claims that she stole his car and the money after asking to borrow his car to visit her friend. He says he waited for her to come back and when she didn’t he went home to find that she had left with her belongings, his car and the Million Kshs. He then discovered that she had changed her number and then eloped with her Mombasa-based lover.

In addition to philandering and making awry wit his money, the German National describes his wife as “high maintain” and “a spendthrift”

“She’s the high maintenance kind of woman who likes to show off. She wasted the money on drinking with her friends, and she could hotel-hop with her clique drinking all kinds of expensive liquor.” he complained.

After Nairobi Artistes,Now Embu Artists Hit The Streets To Protest To The Government Of Embu Over Lack Of Support. (Photos)

Looks like the 70% Airplay clamor is not just a Nairobi thing. Or a passing fad. More and more sections of artists, from different towns and of different talents, are now coming forward and organizing protests of their own and it’s catching fire.

Some bunch of weeks ago, irked Nairobi artists stormed the Nation Centre to try and pressure the media (and Government) into implementing the 70% Airplay constitutional requirement for local content.

The protest was so huge that international media entities, including BBC,joined in the fray…Al Jazeera even did a one-hour special talk show on the state of Kenyan Music and the source of all this bitterness and revulsion towards excessive Naija content.

And soon enough,Culture CS Hassan Wario jumped in too… And some executive legislations were passed.

And now, exasperated artists from Embu, under the banner ‘United4Talent’ decided to stage their own protest after what they called lack of attention from the Embu County Government, poor representation, impropriation of funds meant to boost youth and arts and a slew of other ills affecting them and their pockets.

And in a protest fervently organized on social media,by among others, leading Embu town blogger Charles Kimenjo, political aspirant and businessman Collo, poet June Cullen and current Miss Embu Gladys Njeru Koki, the protest happened today starting 9.30am allover the dusty town.

After massive lobbying and much grassroots organization, the artists, comprising rappers and singers and poets and models, poured into the streets and marched all the way to the County Government offices from where they presented their plight and had a closed-door session with Local Government representatives.

12002291_431150753757934_2068168108255288200_n.jpg

Talking to Ghafla on phone,Blogger Charles Kimenjo termed the protest a success and expressed hope in how things were projected to look in the near future.

‘The protest was a massive success. Artists came out in full numbers… Ready for anything and more importantly, ready to make their voices heard and respected. It was a full house as the whole town was brought to a standstill by tens of frustrated artists who have for long complained of poor representation, lack of financial support and exorbitant charges charged to young people to start business and grow their talents… ‘

Well… We applaud the United4Talent participants and salute their courage and commitment to justice and prosperity.

Check out the photos…

Sam West was born on June 14, 1985. He is a radio personality in one of Kenya’s famous media houses, a media mogul and of course a comedian. Airtel Kenya Promotes Upcoming Photographers! See Details.

Airtel Kenya has been supporting budding Instagram photographers through a series of events and opportunities under the #FacesOfKenya campaign. The brand worked with famous Kenyan Instagrammers; Asif Khan , Mutua Matheka and Sarah Waiswa, to use the power of the internet and Instagram to tell stories of the things that matter to young Kenyans.

The three Instagrammers took over the Airtel Kenya Instagram account and went on a tour of the country’s three cities, Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa, documenting and narrating stories of exciting Kenyans that they met. The journey kicked off on June 1st and led to a workshop hosted by a famous New York photographer Jose Silva where Nairobi’s budding photographers were treated to sessions on how to improve their craft. This month, as part of the programme, the brand held an instameet event where young photographers took part and had a tour of Nairobi documenting the beauty and potential of the city. The photographer with the top photo with the most interactions from the event was Mr Paul Kidero who was given an opportunity to take over the Airtel Kenya Instagram account on a tour of Malaysia’s iconic city Kuala Lumpur.

According to Mr Adil ElYoussefi, Airtel Kenya’s Managing Director, providing opportunities such as this is key for the company’s brand identity. He said “ Airtel’s brand believes in promoting the power of potential both for the community in which we work in as well as internally as a company. This is important to us as a brand as we believe in the potential of our customers, partners and employees. We believe in providing the right tools and forums for each one of us to succeed in achieving whatever is important for each individual including promoting and supporting local internet content. We are interested in continuously seeking to recognize exciting new ideas and talent that promotes solution based thinking and good storytelling. This approach is a definite fit with Airtel culture, and a direct mirror of the country’s exciting and innovative approach.”

Airtel Kenya has in the past promoted initiatives that give young Kenyans a platform to showcase the wealth of talent, empowering them and creating positive impact in the community. It recently launched Airtel Jam Sessions an intimately shot show that invites awesome upcoming stars to jam and talk about their hustle. Through this initiative the company worked with Amos and Josh, Kiu, S.O.C and Dandora Music among many more on this project and aims to continuously develop more content and opportunities to showcase more growing and exciting music talent. The company also launched Airtel Future Shapers a set of written photojournalistic features that profiles young, fresh and ambitious trendsetters in technology, the arts and culture. Covering young and dynamic talent such as Top 40 under 40s youngest awardee Esther Kinuthia and fashion trendsetters such as Sylvia Njoki and many more on their work and lessons that they share for those wishing to join their path. Last year, Airtel partnered with one of France’s most popular music channel, TRACE Urban, as the official partner of Africa’s first mobile song competition- “Airtel TRACE Music Stars” in a bid to unlock Africa’s musical talent. Airtel TRACE Music Star became the biggest talent competition to ever take place in Kenya and Africa. Benjamin Webi was crowned Kenya’s winner of the 3-months music competition.

Nameless’s Heartrending, Deep And Totally Romantic Message To Wahu For Their 10 Years Wedding Anniversary.

It is a love story that has hit the 10 year mark today. Nameless and Wahu it seems, was a match made in heaven.

The two are the envy of the many, they are probably the first celebrity couple that has managed to stand the test of time. Today, Nameless sent a heartrending message to his wife on social media, a short, pithy, witty and romantic message of gratitude to his wife of 10 years, It read:

Today marks 10 years since the day your parents handed you to me to be my wife… I cannot explain the meaning you have brought into my life.. you have been with me through thick and thin, through triumphs and failures..you have taken me in with all my strengths and weaknesses and have stood by me through the Best and worst moments. We have hustled together ,and we are still hustling together …you are my ride or die! Happy 10th anniversary Wahu Kagwi.

Tina Kaggia Hits The Internet With An Unsavory Fashion Fail.

Tina Kaggia, the mellow Voiced classic Fm presenter is wanderlusting, enjoying her holiday with her significant other at one of the many locations in the expanse that is the world. Other than treating us to appetizing photos of gourmet food, drinks and a breathtaking view of calm blue waters (that speaks of serenity and money)  she has shared in equal measure, an unsavory fashion fail.

I may not have an eye for women wear but the pink bikini she chose for her water fun moments left her exposed in a bad way. She looks bloated for reasons that I can tell from just looking at the picture. The bikini top  does not fit ( I shall let you do the honors of being the judges- Ya’ll are welcome)

Maybe she is just carefree. I am carefree too. I like to think of myself as a hippie sometimes  but the good thing, unlike Tina, I am not a celebrity. When you have a standing like hers in the society, then you have to scrutinize what you post to the interwebs. Again that’s me. Maybe some of you fancy photos like these .

Kenyan Male Sex Workers Make History As They Do Something That Has Never Been Done Before In Africa

Many of us are familiar with the term female sex workers as they commonly prowl the streets of Nairobi and its environs trawling for clients in micro minis and other provocative clothing.

But male sex workers commonly referred to as gigolos are a rare occurrence. But contrary to popular belief there are men who trade in teh flesh and they are not isolated cases, they are many. They actually have a union called HOYMAS, full name  Health Options for Young Men on HIV, AIDS and STIs.

The sex worker’s organization based in Nairobi will do something no other male sex workers have ever done. They are launching Africa’s first ever the savings and credit scheme (SACCO) by male sex workers.

The reason or this SACCO was because of its members who “noted that accessing financial services such as small loans from financial institutions was difficult .So they formed the SACCO to pull their contributions and access some of these services.’

Breaking: Controversial Doctor, Mugo Wa Wairimu Arrested!

After almost 4 days of eluding the police, Mugo Wa Wairimu has finally been arrested in Limuru and is currently being held at the Tigoni police station.

But just like the time the story book, the social media activist is still Face-booking diligently and fervently despite being in the police custody. He has even vowed to sue Citizen Tv for the defamatory story saying in an updates:

Citizen can now cool their heels. We will meet in court soon.

I SAY IT AGAIN; Mob justice, media or otherwise only replaces due process in failed states. Kenya is not Iraq, Syria or Yugoslavia. There is a competent police force to handle any manner of criminal investigations. If I’m guilty of these otherwise serious allegations, may I Rot in Kamiti maximum prison and subsequently in hell in the name of the most High God. Those baying for my blood can as well go to hell on a one way ticket. It’s unlike me to stop on my way to respond to every barking stray dog. I’m happy the DPP has ordered the director of CID to launch immediate investigations into these allegations. Im further happy that I’m now under the safe hands of Limuru police. I’m ready, more than ready to co-operate with the police 100 percent. That’s all I got to state for now.

Why Desperate Kenyan Models Stick To Their Agencies Despite Getting Sexually Abused Over And Over By Their Bosses

Recently, the CEO Of Shado Modelling Company in Mombasa was busted for soliciting sex from his employees. Leaked Whatsapp messages revealed that he was having sex with his models in exchange for tiny favors such as rent, food and fare. How the beasts rule this land. Kenya’s modeling industry is fueled by sexual favors

Many young girls in Kenya, especially college girls want to be top models. But they never actually make it. It’s just a merry go round of unsavory stories that include getting baited with fake promises, getting shagged by promoters and bosses and getting underpaid. But why do these models stay?

CEOs of modeling agencies use their statuses to lure models to their studios and sexually abuse them, while belittling, humiliating and disorientating them at the same time. The girls become like slaves clinging on to hopes of future superstardom.

The question is, Just what makes a model stay and endure such an ordeal at the hands of sexually aggressive bosses? What prevents them from fleeing at the first whiff of danger?

To understand this better, I think it’s first important to explore the psychology behind the relationship between a model and her agency.

While starting out as a model, you need to be able to harness your vulnerability. You need to approach agencies with desperation and place your insecurities and trust in

A typical modeling agency bigwig knows this and will promise you great this while boosting your confidence, reading your levels of discomfort and buoying your energy. Trust is a vital component of the working relationship between models and their agencies. To say no to the requests of a boss is to look unprofessional. No girls wants to be saddled with the tag ‘diva’ or ‘difficult-to work-with’, .

No model wants to be seen as difficult by her bosses and photographers. That makes it hard to speak up when they feel uncomfortable or sense potential abuse. The chances don’t come easy and sadly these models are gagged by the fear of losing work.

For a Kenyan model, turning down sexual requests from an agency boss would be dicing with one’s career. What is clear, is that the abuse of models is far more nuanced and complex than the entrenched narrative of a young, naive girl being preyed upon.

What happens in the modeling history is wrong. Someone needs to solve it before things get out of hand

Embarrassment Galore:Kenyan Delegation To Italy Thoroughly Embarrased. (photo)

A delegation of Kenyan elite left for Milan, Italy on a visit that sought to strengthen the ties between Italy and Kenya in matters, social and economic.

President Kenyatta’s visit to Italy follows a similar visit to Kenya by Prime Minister Renzi in July during in which a Sh34 billion financing agreement was signed between the Kenyan government  for the construction of the Itare Dam in Kuresoi.

At one of the meetings however, the Kenyan delegation showed up for talks without notepads or writing materials of any kind while their Italian counterparts were armed with writing materials and looked ready.

Was the delegation from Kenya in tour or business again? Check out this photo.

This Year’s Edition Of Rugby Sevens Will Be Super-Exciting. And This Is Why

Rugby Seven simply referred to as Sevens holds a special place in the hearts of Kenyans because that is why they get to bond, have fun and channel their inner patriotism as we cheer our favorite teams to victory. And this year’s edition promises to have that extra zing!

This is after Safaricom announced its decision to sponsor the 19thedition of the Safari Sevens tournament to be held at the Safaricom Stadium, Kasarani from 2nd to 4th October. The telco has given Sh.30 million to Kenya Rugby Union in support of this year’s Safari Sevens.

lkru.jpg

Sylvia Mulinge, Director – Consumer Business, Safaricom, Richard Omwela, Chairman, Kenya Rugby Union and Ronald Bukusi, CEO, Kenya Rugby Union

The announcement comes five months after Safaricom withdrew its sponsorship of rugby following allegations of corruption and fraud within Kenya Rugby Union (KRU), and barely a month after the company – alongside fellow sponsors Kenya Airways and Bamburi – agreed to resume talks with KRU under stringent conditions.

In August, KRU Chairman Richard Omwela assured sponsors that the KRU Board would improve governance, accountability and transparency within both the Union and the sport. Since then the Board has initiated measures aimed at cleaning house, including placing the Forensic Report by audit firm PKF before KRU’s Independent Disciplinary Committee.

“We have reviewed the steps taken by KRU to address the issues we raised when we withdrew our sponsorship in April, and are confident in the progress we are seeing,” said Sylvia Mulinge, Director – Consumer Business, Safaricom.

“The Board has assured us that pending the decision of the Independent Disciplinary Committee, those individuals adversely named in the Forensic Report will not be involved in the governance or financial decisions of the Union.”

The sponsorship however does not extend to 2016 edition of the National Sevens Circuit or Safari Sevens Tournament, with Safaricom adopting a cautious approach towards full sponsorship of the circuit until it is fully satisfied with KRU’s remedial measures.

“Our sponsorship of this event in October does not mean we will relax our vigilance or enable continued inaction from KRU. We expect the same levels of transparency and accountability that we expect from all our partners,” said Ms. Mulinge. “We are willing to support rugby in Kenya because we see its potential and the commitment of the players and fans, but we will not do this at the expense of proper governance.”

Some of the changes effected over the last few months by the Omwela–led KRU board include new HR procedures, financial processes and guidelines to engage and remunerate managers, coaches and players.

In addition, the introduction of a new C.E.O and C.F.O has led to separation of the board to provide strategic direction, with the operational arm of the Union now being led by a Secretariat.

“We admit that we should have been more vigilant in matters concerning the management of the sport, and we thank Safaricom for their willingness to support and invest in a sport that has the potential to perform just as well as athletics does on the world stage,” said Mr. Omwela.

“We are committed to cleaning up rugby from the inside out and have even applied to World Rugby to seek their endorsement so as to give the Safari Sevens Series greater global presence.”

While Safaricom will not be the title sponsor for the event the company remains optimistic about a full turnaround in the management of the sport, which will this year mark 19 years since the Safari Sevens Series was launched in 1996.

After Mugo wa Wairimu,Here Are 5 Other Doctors Who Have Raped And Sexually Molested Women In Their Clinics. This Is How They Did It. Number 4 Is Horrible. Eeeww.

Lest you think that Mugo wa Wairimu is a novelty, and that his dastardly actions have never been executed by anyone else in the medical practice, you’re wrong. He’s not a special case.. But yet another statistic in the dark pileup of rapist medics.

What he did and how he did it was also not so original. Many other quacks had pulled off similar crimes… In a fashion almost exactly like that of Mugo. But they eventually got busted… And arrested unlike Mugo who now has gone missing but can still Facebook and taunt authorities.

And to show you that this whole ‘let me sedate and rape my patient’ madness is not really a preserve of political blogging bigots,Here are five other cases similar to that of Mugo. Number 4 is seriously disturbing. Eeeeew.

1. Dr. Jay Cho

Dr. Jay Cho was a 71-year old American doctor of Asian origin from Pennsylvania. Over the course of 5 years or more,Dr. Cho drugged over 12 women and raped them while they were half-dead. But his cover was blown earlier this year after women started going forward accusing him of taking sexual advantage of them and sedating them. And after investigations were done,Dr. Cho was arrested and charged on several charges, including rape, aggravated indecent assault, drug delivery by a practitioner, criminal use of a communication facility, indecent assault, possession of a controlled substance and harassment in connection with incidents involving 12 different women. It was said that the Doctor over-prescribed Narcotics ‘like candy’ to his needy patients. But all this time,Dr. Cho was a highly distinguished medical practitioner since he had had over 43 years experience and had been voted one of the Best doctors across Pennsylvania. Cho was held on a $375,000 bail which translates to roughly Ksh. 40,000,000 in the current exchange rate! Yes, 40 damn million! His case continues.

2. Dr. George Doodnaught

dr_george_doodnaught.jpg
Now Dr. George Doodnaught was a Canadian doctor and highly-qualified anesthesiologist working in the North York General Hospital. What Mr. Doodnaught would do was simple ; for close to ten years,Doodnaught would inject his victims with a powerful anesthetic and then proceed to rape them while they were aware! Yes,he didn’t have to sedate them or blur their minds to rate them. All of the women interviewed said that they were 100% aware of Doodnaught raping them but they couldn’t do anything since they couldn’t move their limbs. It was then revealed that Doctor Doodnaught kissed the patients as they lay on the operating table. He fondled their breasts and made explicit sexual remarks.

In 13 of the cases, he was accused of placing his penis in the mouth or hands of the victim.

Doodnaught’s attorney Brian Greenspan told Ontario Superior Court Judge David McCombs that the height of the operating room table, as well as the presence of various machines and IV lines would have made it difficult if not impossible for Doodnaught to even get close enough to the victims.

Greenspan also said that there are many doctors and nurses going in and out of the operating room. “No one saw or heard anything that would indicate sexual assault,” Greenspan said.

However, it was said that Doodnaught stood near the patient’s head with a sterile sheet over the upper body hiding him from the sight of other staff. And then forcefully injecting a powerful drug that would immediately cripple his victims and then raping them and forcing his penis into their mouths.

3. Dr. Darren Chotiner

darren-chotiner-md.jpg
This was a 46-year old distinguished practitioner from Bremerton,Washington who had been practising since 2007. Dr. Chotiner was busted after it was revealed that over a period of years,he had mercilessly raped and groped 11 different women.

Dr. Chotiner’s misdemeanor ranged from inappropriate comments and advances by the doctor during office visits all the way to allegations of indecent liberties and rape. All of the victims so far are adult women.

But while investigations went on,15 more women came forward and accused the Doctor of inappropriate behavior, touching them indecently and also raping them.

 4. Dr. Joshua Drah

Dr. Joshua Drah is a Ghanaian national who had been operating a small clinic in Madina,Accra named Universal Mission Clinic. It looks like his main universal mission was to rape not one, not two but THOUSANDS of women across Accra. He was a gynecologist and also performed hundreds of illegal abortions on hundreds of women who trooped his dirty clinic and sought his services.

What makes Dr. Joshua even creepier is the revelation that he would RAPE these women as he performed an abortion! You heard that right! Right in the middle of an abortion, when the woman was all bloody and messed up and in a state of dizziness and pain,Dr. Joshua would then RAPE her! While the peraring bed was all bloody and messed up and his gloves were still on and bloodied. And the tell the woman that he was doing it to ‘open up her birth canals’. Oh Lord!

After his arrest,Dr. Joshua attempted to deny ever doing any such thing but then a secret video of him raping women while procuring an abortion on them was played in court. He was silenced and sentenced to jail for a decade. It was also revealed that Joshua’s victims were well in their thousands. His story revolted a nation and sent Shock waves across Ghana.

5. Dr. Binh ‘Ben’ Chung

Original.jpg
Yet another Asian! Dr. Chung was a 41-year old practitioner operating from the Sin City,Las Vegas. Dr. Binh wasn’t just a rapist… But a damaged, dark soul who would record his dirty activities on video and then go play it for himself in his bedroom back at home. Dr. Binh would, like all rapist doctors, sedate his victims first and, once they were unconscious, would press the record button on his camera, undress the women, get undressed himself and then jump on them while at the whole time recording himself and making silly faces to the camera.

After his arrest,Dr. Binh denied ever committing such atrocities but his wife stepped forward and took police to their home. Upon arrival to their home, his wife told the police that she had bumped into a hard drive belonging to Dr. Binh hidden in the bedroom. And after watching what was contained in the hard drive, she was shocked to her bones.

Dr. Binh’s wife then gave the hard drive to the police who after watching it’s content, discovered THOUSANDS of phonographic videos featuring Dr. Binh and hundreds of his unconscious victims. 60% of the videos involved children. Sometimes girls as young as 6 or 8.

Speechless….

Well….There you have it. Creeps are allover this place. From America to Africa to India. But while all these others were arrested, arraigned in Court and sentenced, our rapist creep is still hiding in a LAWMAKER’S house allegedly! What a shame!

After Jaguar Blasts Them For ‘Killing’ Sonko, James Smart Takes A Star Correspondent to A Journalism 101 Session On Twitter

The Star does appear to be engaging in some form of a ‘Comedy of Errors’ rendition given the rate at which it is developing an affinity for the farcical.

After Jaguar pointed out their error on one of their Twitter posts where they ‘killed’ Sonko, James Smart has sarcastically taken one of their correspondents a refresher of the art of reporting news. The

The correspondent, a certain Sonu Tanu was covering the Moi University graduation ceremony and had the spine to include his daughter’s name as a highlight of the graduation  ceremony indicating her achievements like it was the main story. Here is James Smart comment on Twitter, notice the composition style marking.
