For those who don’t know, Huddah Monroe and Vera Sidika have finally buried the hatchet.

The two socialites took to social media to forgive each other and took turns blaming the media for all their woes…how original.

Following their newfound friendship, fans have been wondering whether Huddah Monroe will be joining Vera Sidika in ‘Nairobi Diaries’. I mean who would not want to see these two socialites together in a show?

But unfortunately this might never happen as Huddah revealed that she has no intentions of joining the show

Last evening,the Twitterati was up in arms over some 1 minute or so grainy clip that showed DP Ruto’s pilot verbally and physically harassing a feeble Female cop to the extent of shoving her,hard,and yelling expletives at her even using the ‘F’ word on her severally,browbeating and haranguing her.

It’s a sad and outrageous clip… The pilot,of Caucasian origin,even attempts to forcibly snatch her police rod before she quickly and fearfully grabs it back,ignominiously.

All of this happened as an eager crowd,obviously there to see the DP,watched in angst and disbelief. The crowd,comprising mostly of men,at some point attempts to holler and growl at the obviously mannerless pilot but their grunts of disapproval at shut down by the Pilot’s audaciousness.

This racist white bastard is the man hired to pilot the DP around the Country. And probably abroad. And while the Country is livid at the clip,the Deputy,who must have seen it before all of us or have been briefed about the altercation before it even hit the Twitter backwaters,hasn’t said a word,publicly castigated his errant pilot or done the noblest thing and sent the atrocious pig packing.

Quickly… Lessons we all can learn from this unfortunate incident where a BLACK FEMALE POLICE OFFICER is openly attacked and abused by a WHITE GOVERNMENT PILOT in broad daylight.

1. Racism Is Still Very…. Alive!

Obviously,one of the motivating factors that drove the Caucasian pilot to harass the poor black cop was the simple fact that he’s white. And that his people,for thousands of years,have consistently harassed,mistreated,bullied and tyrannized black subjects and gotten away with it. His being white is like an open card to violence,entitlement,prudish behavior and a warped,sickening superiority complex. He didn’t even take time to allow the poor lady to make her case… He looked at her from a serpentine,racist angle and blew off on her mainly because,compared to him,and his pink pig skin,she was black trash – and as far as his people are concerned,black trash has no business lecturing a superior white male. Welcome to America.

 

2. Impunity Still Reigns Supreme

Some may argue that the pilot is some nice guy who wouldn’t hurt a fly. Well,we don’t know him that well and we might be inclined to believe them. But still,he was captured on camera,in broad daylight,almost beating the daylights out of a hapless POLICE OFFICER. why? Well,he chauffeurs the Deputy President around. What’s not to do? When you pilot the second most powerful man in the country around,chances are,you will have very little time for little people trying to screw up your little plans. The simple fact that he sits next to power,draws his salary from the coffers of such a powerful individual and gets to hang out and have the ear of a man of Ruto’s mettle means that he will have very little patience with any other person who will be a million times less significant than his Boss. He acted out of importance. And out of the fact that the law MUST bow down to him. Given his position in society.

3. Police Are Not Always The Problem

We tend to believe that Police are always the problem. But that’s not really the case. Sometimes,they’re not. Sometimes the police are only doing their work until some powerful bastard stumbles up on them… And screws them up. Sometimes,the police are not the douchebags they’re almost always painted as. Sometimes,the police are honest people,sincere employees and dedicated servants. Until some other powerful individuals step in the ring…. And the game changes. Fast.

4. Mental Colonization Is Still Alive

As the black female cop gets harassed and bullied around,shoved and yelled at,there’s a team of locals gathered who,the best they can do,is make noises,grumble and lowkey hiss at the Pilot instead of gathering themselves,marching forward,launching an attack at this vile pig and PHYSICALLY protecting the poor lady from the wrath of the man. Instead of taking immediate angry action,they chose to idly stand around,make feeble noises and talk at the man… Afraid of confronting him, afraid of charging at him,afraid of moving forward,enmasse,and lunging at him for being such a dirty racist prick. He seemed to scare them all. Simply because he had pink skin. And the attitude of the colonial master. It showed,many years after independence,black Kenyans are still terrified of a rambunctious white man spewing hate and commands. Pity.

5. Power Corrupts. Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely

The greatest reason why this even happened is because of power – that morally degrading factor in humans. Had the pilot not been a pilot in the first place,had he been some other lowly Kenyan doing some lowly job at some lowly boss,he’d not have had the audacity to yell at and even hassle a whole police officer in a country where the police evoke terror amongst citizens. But given his social status,his job and his assumed superiority over lesser mortals,it was very easy for him to launch the sort of daring attack he stupidly did on the police woman. Kenya is a country that deeply fears and obeys her men and women in uniform and for a civilian to go off on an officer so brashly,it can only mean one thing – they’re powerful and then know it. And they’ve been irreparably damaged by their power, drunk and sloshed in the power.

6. Show Me Your Friends…

That William Ruto walks around with such a toxic man says a lot about the DP. I am 100%sure that this is not the first time this pilot has acted in such a brash manner in public. Having worked for and with Ruto for a period of time,Ruto must be aware of the man’s nature,rash character and mannerlessness. But Ruto still choses to keep and enjoy the services of such an obnoxious mortal. A man so recalcitrant,he will publicly yell at and shove a woman in uniform. Is this the first time this pilot has behaved in this manner ? I doubt. This is a man whose red temper and impatience Ruto must be aware of. This is a man whose perversion and disrespect for the law or law enforcers Ruto is aware of. Definitely. But still,the good old DP chose to keep the man. Chose to let him remain on payroll,his virulence notwithstanding. If these are the types of men Ruto rolls with,men with no regard for the law and men who treat uniformed women so brazenly, you wonder how Ruto views his subjects too.

It seems that popular actress Nyasuguta is in trouble with a man.

In a post on Facebook, Nyasuguta revealed there is a man who is blackmailing her into jumping into bed with her and he is willing to go to great lengths to get a taste of the nookie. Including calling the police.

President Museveni won the Thursday 18^th poll by a landslide but funny Ugandans are not celebrating. Even kids don’t want the incumbent head of state!!

Yoweri Museveni emerged as the victor of the recently concluded Uganda’s presidential elections even though analysts pointed out various irregularities in the election.

Scooping a whopping 60% of the votes cast, you would expect Museveni to be a man of the people but his case is more of an enemy of the people.

Ugandan children were caught on camera stoning the de facto leader as they chanted words probably cursing him. (They were speaking in Luganda).

But it’s not business as usual in Uganda as they have been met with unadulterated hostility for their political stance and fans have not only slaughtered them on social media but have vowed to boycott all their shows.

Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, has locked horns with Citizen TV because of marijuana!

Was it a genuine gaffe or was it just another jibe meant to strike at the heart of the flamboyant Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko?

Deputy President William Ruto has locked horns with the son of retired President Moi over their choice of candidates in Kericho Senatorial by-election. The Star newspaper added fuel in the already blazing inferno!

Baringo Senator and Kanu Chairman, Gideon Moi, is supporting Paul Sang for the March 7^th Kericho senatorial by-election while Deputy President William is rooting for JAP’s Aaron Cheruiyot.

The two leaders have publicly disagreed on different occasions over their choice of candidates. The Star newspaper claimed Ruto said Gideon Moi was uncircumcised.

Arap Samoei caught hormones with the headline on the front page of the Star newspaper and he decided to fire back.

Ruto tweeted to express his disapproval of the Star’s screaming headline saying he understood ‘sales matters’.

“My statements have never been about trivialities like circumcision but as always the STAR is at it. I understand sales matter. “Isorait!” Tweeted DP Ruto.

The Kenyan socialite is currently ballin at the coastal beaches of the neighboring Tanzania where she was caught on camera stealing two pairs of slippers.

Stage IV cancer patients have 6 months to a year to live since the relative survival rate is just 22%. Janet Kanini a stage 4 cancer patient survived. How???

She was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in India and she had to come back to Kenya for a 4 month chemotherapy treatment.

Janet Kanini Ikua beat all odds to triumph over the deadly disease and she has Doctors Beyond Borders and her unwavering faith to thank.

The NTV N-Soko Property Show host explains Doctors Beyond Borders helped her seek medical assistance in India.

She however says her faith was what kept her going even when all odds were against her; she suffered blood clot, stomach pains (her stomach were full of injections holes.) and plus the statistics about stage four cancer we not favorable to her.

“I would really just try to ignore what the body say because that’s all what faith is all about. Ignore what reality is telling you and believe in what you can’t see, believe in something better.” Janet explained.

Doctors in India confirmed she was totally free of cancer after the 4 month chemotherapy treatment. Watch Janet explain her journey through cancer in the video below:

A video of a driver jumping out of a moving car leaving his passengers in peril has gone viral as people could not believe just how irresponsible some people can get.

The driver decided to jump out of a moving matatu and dart across the highway in a bid to escape the Alco-Blow police. It took the intervention of one of the policemen to stop the car that already had its tires punctured from running through the road block.

We are no business server but we just had to jump on this; the whole Uber menace. As you all probably know, the mobile ride hail company which launched in 2009 and which is headquartered in San Francisco, California made an entry into the Kenyan market much to the agony of traditional taxis.

Not something to write home about as the same has happened in many other parts in the world. The Yellow Taxi service in San Francisco for example is reportedly closing down because according to management, Uber has officially taken them out of business.

Now why the Kenyan case is quite unique is the fact that it has ceased to be just something to make memes about on twitter but an issue that now requires the various authoritative facets to intervene starting with the police department and soon to be followed by the office of Public Prosecutions. This follows a grotesque event which happened last night when a group of unknown assailants blocked an uber vehicle after it had dropped a passenger, torched it into flames and beat the life out of the driver. Only God knows what would have happened to the passenger if they were caught up in the drama.

Now bearing in mind this is not the first time such an attack has been initiated on Uber, it means we have a problem, a galactic one for that matter and it looks as if nobody has come forward to offer a sustainable solution. Because yes, there are many people out here making a living out the taxi business and yes, just like the rest of us; they have bills to pay and it’s not fair for some American start-up to just come and overlook that fact.

It is also ignorant of them to think that things will always be the same that they can continue to exploit and offer substantial services and we’ll just sit there and watch all in the name of supporting our own. In addition, competition is healthy and instead of coming up with savage ways to fight it, why not try to match up.

I’m thinking majority of them don’t know how so here is my two cents to go about it:

Taxi Meters:

This has been something in the pipeline as reported by business daily a few weeks back that Nairobi County would be embarking on a plan to implement Taxi meters in Nairobi cabs to regulate the mostly exorbitant prices rampant with traditional taxis. Now, I think you have an organization which can fast track and ensure it’s implemented ASAP because you are seriously losing out. Your fares most of the time are purely dependent on the mood at that particular point in time or the money problems you are currently facing. So when I approach you asking to hitch a ride to Westlands, you quote 700 bob knowing very well that’s overpriced. But since you know I’m desperate and I’m limited for choice, you just sit there and watch as I grapple to make a decision. Now Thank God for Uber which uses GPRS technology to calculate fare for me and in this case fare to Westlands comes to roughly 300 bob.

Vehicles:

You Taxi driver parked along Moi Avenue take a second and look at the good condition present with Uber cars. They are more often than not new and in perfect condition which is something every customer is looking forward to. You don’t want to take a taxi so that to get into a meeting on time only for it to break down halfway there because the owner wasn’t responsible enough to check the oil before he left for work in the morning. When was the last time you ever took the car down for a wash or service? Your guess is as good as mine.

That Little Thing Called Hygiene:

Uber drivers normally pay keen attention to their appearance and grooming. They understand very well that image is everything so more often than not they will ensure that they wear a clean shirt with an equally clean pair of socks to march. And it won’t end there, they will also go ahead to garnish that with a lot of courtesy and sometimes a bottle of water if you get lucky. As a customer, you feel like you are really getting value for your money and you won’t hesitate to use that service again. Plus I doubt if many of us like to put up with a driver who smokes and rubs their genitals while in transit.

The Know Factor:

A few months back, we ran the story of One Ann Mbaru, a contestant in the coveted Big Brother Africa. Apparently she had found herself in hot soup when a taxi driver threatened to rape her. This happened when she was chucking a popular club in Westlands to go meet up with a friend in another club. That episode left her traumatized and attracted the attention of a number of media outlets. She was seeking justice but it wasn’t as easy. Considering she was a bit tipsy when the incident happened, she couldn’t remember the intricate details of the driver and the car in question and with that she had no case to argue in court. The said offender is probably out here committing the same offence to numerous innocent girls across Nairobi knowing very well he cannot be traced.

Uber on the hand makes sure that all the details of your driver are all there to peruse. His name, contact number and even his car number plate. Now if they dared try anything, getting them would be easy as 1, 2, and 3.

Lastly, traditional drivers need also to embrace technology if they are to survive this Uber wave.  The reason I subscribe to the service myself is the fact that it’s easily accessible; that I don’t have to worry when I make my way to out of town neighbourhoods and bars that are not accessible to matatus and even normal taxis. Can you imagine yourself in a house party somewhere in a gated estate in the middle of Kitusuru and you want to go home? And you are drunk and nobody is interested in walking you to the nearby shopping centre to get a taxi? Of course your phone becomes your savior.

The Webuye Jua Kali Band singer Daudi Zakari could not contain his joy after Ruto gave him the car saying “I am thankful to the Deputy President for what he has done for me. May the Lord bless him and give him heart to help more disabled people who have talent.” he said.

Zakari came by his gift after Ruto was impressed by his passionate performance during a funds drive at Matulo Friends Girls Secondary School last year .And so he promised him the car which was delivered yesterday at Masinde Muliro gardens.

Julie Gichuru is a well known media personality as well as a role model and an inspiration to many upcoming lady professionals and those seeking a career in media.

What is not usually known is that she played quite a key role in the journey of one of Kenya’s most popular music bands, H_Art The Band. Last week the group decided to share the story of their first ever event performance and their first ever big pay they had ever received.

Apparently, Julie Gichuru saw them perform at an episode of Fatuma’s voice and being pleased with their performance invited them to perform at her wedding anniversary. They only got to perform one song and from that they were given 50,000 KES.

They had never held so much from a single performance especially having done just one song. Due to the amount they were having, they decided to request her to get them a cab and here she pulled a further surprise ordering not a cab but her driver with a Range Rover to drop the group to town. We Had never performed anywhere else other than in the streets So, this was going to be A big event to us. We went around our neighborhood and borrowed a few clothes here & there just to look presentable plus called on our band members to escort us just in case. On reaching the venue, we could not believe our eyes the party was HuGE – we felt under-dressed but we were there already so we put our chins up. KIDUM was first on stage *Oh God Why??? *Performing for almost 2hrs. Time was moving fast, it was midnight all of a sudden & we started having doubts as to if we will get a chance to perform . We Started Panicking the Host Was nowhere to be seen. We Really Wanted a chance to perform before the guests started leaving. After Minutes of Panic, We Got a Chance to play one song woo-hoo❕❗❕ELATED , we poured our H_❤ RT s on the stage that night with just that one song #ulizaKiatu. From the young to the aged we could see them dance & enjoy them Good Vibes. We were so proud of ourselves. After stepping offstage, she PAID us a WHOOPING 50,000 in CASH
