Roads to Savannah, and all sides of outering road were impassable as drivers and touts joined in the demonstrations. Five men who were part of a gang that accosted and undressed a Jubilee female politician at the Coast have been identified.
The lady, one Martha Wanguo was descended upon by rowdy youths who alleged she was engaged in voter bribery. In a crazy and ugly incident the youths went on to attack her stripping her half naked in the process.
Police now have used a video recording of the incident to identify five members of the gang and have proceeded to release the images saying they will track them down and bring them to justice. Mombasa OCPD also called on the public to help them identify the men whose faces have been circled in a video capturing the incident.

This past Saturday, I attended my friend Collo’s birthday party in Donholm. It was pure ratchet mayhem with a real sense of style. I grew up in Donholm so it was looking forward to partying in the hood where I evolved from toddler to man.
When I arrived at Collo’s place, he welcomed me with a bear hug. He has always been an amazing guy who walks and talks like a mafia boss. He has a sharp nose like that of Carlo Gambino. He has flair, sang-froid and he wears a suit superbly well by bulging his gym-built fame fiercely into it. I think he would make a great seducer but he has dated the same girl since campus. Good for him.
Anyways, hugged me, shook my arm with that firm luhya grip and started telling me jokes. He always believes that everything he says is funny. And that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that he laughs at his own jokes. But wait…that’s not even the worst part. The worst part Is that Collo doesn’t laugh like ordinary people do. His laugh takes over a room. It comes on just fine, a regular laugh by any standards. You will be laughing too. But then when the humor subsides, you will stop laughing. At this point however, Collo’s laugh will just be crescending. And he will be making eye contact with you. Ha Ha HA HA Heh Heh. And you will try to laugh again to join him because you know you’re supposed to. Because you don’t want to appear rude. But it doesn’t come out right because it’s not a natural laugh. He will squeeze out a couple of words sometimes between chuckles. And then he will stop as suddenly as he started, and you will be relieved.

To my surprise, he pulled me out of my sit and swung a punch towards me. Even though it came unexpected, i ducked. I don’t like fighting but I was almost forced to defend myself. Luckily though, Collo’s boys showed up quickly and dumped the guy out of the house.
The chic herself was confused, upset and incredibly embarrassed over her lover’s lewd conduct. Given the unfortunate turn of events, she insisted she on leaving the party too to go console her drama baby boyfriend.
My seduction, which began with great hopes was about to be inducted into the museum of great failures. There it was to sit alongside other failed projects such as the Nokia phone, Blankets & Wine and Nick Mutuma’s music career.
But I was Etemesi. I couldn’t just let my effort go to waste. I held her hand as she was walking away and asked for her number. Dennis Itumbi had quite a birthday party over the weekend. In what has come to be dubbed the Chapati forum, Dennis Itumbi organized a volunteering project to offer tasty meal to hundreds of street families on that day.
Many turned out and it is estimated they made thousands of chapattis to feed the street children who came in huge numbers for a rare treat. While it was a noble cause and a pretty exciting event both for the volunteers and the street children, there was a problem as a couple of rowdy youths began scrambling for the meal when it was being served.
It became a security risk when the unruly street kids started flinging objects in the air and it resulted in wild commotion and police resorted to firing gun shots in the air which left several people scampering for safety and several sustained injuries.
The event was otherwise a huge success though critics said it was a pure PR exercise and that Dennis Itumbi and the Jubilee government in general could do better to find a permanent solution to the street family menace. Here are photos of the event.
It feels like it was just yesterday when the lively Lynda Nyangweso announced that she was expecting a child with the love of her life, Lance Osiro. She also revealed that her baby will be coming in June this year and took this announcement as an opportunity to to fight the stigma faced by plus size women especially when it came to pregnancy.Such as plus sized women being told that their weight increases the risk of various pregnancy complications.

Rose Mbula became known in the country and became sort of a hero after she survived a tragic fall from a skyscraper in India.
The fall left her skull severely damaged but the doctors managed to salvage a few bones and stored them in her stomach for reconstruction injuries.
After her accident which shook up the whole country, the The Kenyan High Commission gave scanty details over what led to her fall.Despite the insufficient details, Kenyans came out in droves to help Rose’s family raise Sh700, 000 required for reconstruction surgery and Sh300,000 for plane tickets to India .
Sadly after her valiant fight for survival, Rose has passed away .

Drama was witnessed in Kileleshwa as SONU chairman was involved in an altercation with a man said to be his opponent.
The Students Organisation of the University of Nairobi (SONU) chairman, Babu Owino was seen roughing up a man said to be his opponent.
Campaigns have geared up at UoN as SONU 2016 Elections is scheduled for April 1, 2016, and Babu Owino is once again vying for the chairmanship.
The SONU chairman is viewed as a dictator by his critics who have since baptize him the Museveni of UoN over his prolonged stay at UoN and his unrivaled appetite for power.
SONU elections are held annually and Babu Owina is defending the chairmanship post for the 6th time; he first became the SONU Chair for the period 2011/2012.

Njambi had put up a spirited fight to make sure her mummy gets well, but unfortunately her mummy didn’t make it.
The Trend panelist Njambi Koikai was raised by her grandmother whom she used to refer to as ‘mummy’. Njambi fell sick almost at the same time her mummy was admitted to the hospital.
While Njambi was admitted to Nairobi Hospital for condition called Endometriosis that caused her lungs to collapse, her mummy was in the hospital to seek medical help for a chronic disease.
Njambi’s grandma was suffering from pancreatic cancer. Njambi had taken it to herself to raise money for her grandmother’s treatment and also to carry out cancer awareness campaign.
But last Friday the Trend panelist was struck by tragedy, her beloved mummy succumbed to cancer. Njambi broke the sad news at 9:29pm:
“My grandma, our mummy has passed on. May her soul Rest In Peace. This is painful. Pray for us all.”

A woman who unashamedly went ahead to ‘expose’ a one night stand she had with Willy M Tuva has come out to apologize for her actions.
The lady had sensationally given a blow by blow account of how the celebrated radio and TV host had persistently gone after her when the two met in a hotel. According to the lady Tuva was in room 209 while she was in 207. From her earlier account, Willy Tuva kept knocking at her door begging to be let in. She went on to the women gossip group Kilimani Mums and decided to share the false information seeking to get ‘advice’ from her friends. Good luck, the acclaimed host got the information early and discovered the account was fake one and the lady behind it one Esther Wanjiku was arrested by the police and proceeded to issue an apology.

A few days ago, Vera Sidika was ranting about how a certain news outlet said Nigerian actor chose to work with Huddah Monroe over her because she was a slut. Well, the Nigerian actor has ‘dumped’ both of them.
Vera Sidika and Mike Ezuruonye were the main video vixens in KCee’s video ‘Ebeano’. The two almost clashed days ago after a Kenyan blog quoted the Nigerian actor saying Vera was hitting on everyone thus preferred to work with Huddah Monroe.
Well, apparently Mike isn’t working with the two Kenyan socialites in any project. The Nollywood actor is instead working with Miss World Kenya 2004, Juliet Ochieng, for a new movie.
Mike confirmed he would be flying into the country to shoot when he responded to Vera’s rant. Juliet also flew to Nigeria weeks ago to cast for the movie which is expected to be released sometimes in April.

Tom Mshindi’s troubles seem to compound by the minute. The Nation Media Group boss has this week been dealing with the explosives coming from the affidavit by his former confidant and junior Denis Galava.
As if the pressure and scrutiny the affidavit has brought is not enough, the NMG boss has been dismissed by none other than the President himself from a job he had barely spent time at. After being appointed by the Attorney General Githu Muigai to as Chair of the Kenya Copyrights Board the president has dismissed him from the position appointing someone else I’m his stead.

A Gor Mahia fan and a friend to Dennis Oliech has decided to answer critics and what she calls gutter press following the publication of reports that the all time Kenyan top scorer was broke and headed back for poverty.
She took issue with the manner his life was being observed and actions wrongly judged as well as what she termed distortion of facts. In quite a lengthy post, Deborah Auko popularly known as Nyar Ovaseas, took issue with the Star reporter whom she termed as being obtuse and malicious.
She went on to give a break-down of issues she had in the story. Her post has gained quite a number of support with many asking Kenyans to mind their own business as Oliech is not about to be broke any time soon.
Deborah also took issue with the fact that no reporter had ever bothered to ask Oliech the state of his mother whom the footballer has been funding for her treatment for 5 years abroad. Here is the rant and see if you agree with her.

1)Oliech has only sold one property among the properties he owns,and there is nothing wrong with that..the reason people invest in property is not to get buried with them, but to reinforce themselves with on a rainy day.
2) There is nothing wrong with Oliech drinking 18 year old whiskies..and nothing wrong with him taking 5 year old whiskies at space or 1824..Uhuru Kenyatta takes Johnnie Walker gold reserve,Raila Odinga takes Jack Daniels.
3) There is nothing wrong with Oliech renting a three bedroomed apartment in kileleshwa rather than throwing out his tenants at his palatial runda or kitisuru properties..he has no wife..no children..what does he need a mansion for..if an apartment in kile is gutter,u need to visit your relatives at Mukuru kwa Ben where a single stove can burn an entire settlement.
4) This particular friend who apparently says “Des siku hizi hana kakitu” is the reason Oliech is relevant, nowadays only choosing to spend on and with people who matter and not anyone else.
5) There was nothing wrong with Oliech drinking or enjoying his cash when he played for Nantes or Auxerre..I have never understood why Kenyans feel the need to manage people’s lifestyles when they can’t manage their politics..The day Kenyans will manage their corruption issues, politics etc then can they come dictate who drinks what where with who..its not your money boss..si pesa ya mama yako.
The most puzzle I have taken with this article and its author is the fact that it’s a known fact Oliech’s mom is a stage 4 cancer patient who Oliech has been managing solely for the last 5 years..the mother is on palliative treatment in a private hospital abroad,bills which oliech has been footing for the last 5 years, Many Kenyans busy judging oliech cant even try managing a chronic malaria patient in Kenya for a year let alone 5 years and abroad.

This year has seen many Kenyan celebrities take on a strong political stance and actively engaging in political related activities.
Usually the celebrity community is the exemplification of middle class aloofness to the middle class. However many have actively participated in the sensitization process urging Kenyans to register. Kenyan creative talent is usually understated overshadowed by the perennial social and political squabbles.
However once in a while great talent and ideas do make it to light and one artist’ efforts are a perfect example of this. While Marvel and DC Comics keep on wowing us with their superheroes, one Kenyan has gone ahead to create African superheroes albeit inspired by the Hollywood characters.

The biggest project Noti Flow has been involved in is perhaps featuring in Art Attack’s ‘Same Love (Remix)’.
The song has not only dominated discussions in Kenya but has also been a topic of discussions on international stage as the likes BBC have shed light on the Kenyan song.
The Kenyan ‘Same Love (Remix)’ was inspired by Macklemore’s 2012 gay rights anthem dubbed “Same Love”.
Macklemore talked about the Kenyan ‘Same Love (Remix)’last month when he was in England with Owuor Arunga, his bandleader who is also a Kenyan.
Macklemore mentioned the gays and lesbian in ‘Same Love (Remix)’ who risked their lives exposing their faces.
“Ben [Macklemore] is the one that showed me the song. He was picking my brain about it, trying to get a feel for what Kenya was like.” Okayafrica quoted Owuor Arunga.

The third month of 2016 is already almost over… And so far,alot has happened. Lions have escaped from their confinement and found themselves into the homes of Lang’ata dwellers,Vera Sidika has quit the first ever Kenyan Reality Show,corruption has hit stupefying levels,a Governor has had his security withdrawn,the old retirees at KFCB have been having a very active diary and of course, alot of music has been released. Some of it good. Some,plain stupid.
The show must go on,so they say,and the show here must still go on. However bad it is. Music must still be released,videos must be shot,entertainment must still be provided and artists must still create.
However,some of the creations that have already been released in 2016 are not really all that. Some of them have been done by big names but they still fall very short of everyone’s expectations.
While 2016 has hit us with wonderful music like ‘Letigo’ by Nameless and even surprisingly,’Tenda Wema’ by Gospel music renegade Ringtone and Christina Shusho,still, we have been seeing a lot of bad music getting dropped everyday. And,sadly,accompanied by VERY nice,high quality videos.
As far as music video production in Kenya Is concerned,we are definitely moving in the right direction. 95% of our artists today have been consistently releasing very amazing videos ; high quality,great angles,amazing camera work,wonderful shots,great cinematography,wondrous locations,beautiful women,perfect editing. But the music being the videos,sadly,still remains bad. Bland. Boring. Lame. Dry. Shitty. Crappy. Dead.

10. Prezidential – Octopizzo
The problem with too much hype is that,people always expect the product to match the hype. And when it doesn’t,it’s a sore anticlimactic finale. Prior to releasing his first video for 2016,Octopizzo, ever the bombastic megalomaniac,created such a huge hype and anticipation for it across social media and TV stations that we expected something of Kendrick Lamar’s level. If not beyond. And then March 8th 2016 came. And he dropped that single accompanied by video – Prezidential. I listened to it and quit listening half way. We all did. The video,I must say,was superb; spectacular shots,genius editing,great color combination, Best picture quality,amazing production. But the song. The song. Piece of shit. Octo has consistently been feeding his ego with the wicked serpent of dangerous self-glorification. And it’s clearly evident in all of the songs he’s been releasing of late ; pompous, grossly self-aggrandizing,deep vanity and excessive showmanship. And that’s been his downfall. Prezidential is not good. It’s horrible. Just the same Octopizzo yapping about the same jibby-jabber. Lame lines. No soul. Nothing new. Sickening and easily forgettable. Stuff that makes Donald Trump run for President. To make music great again.
9. Akothee – My Sweet Love
I know this one is a little bit contentious. But we all know. Your grandmother knows. Miss Akothee CAN’T sing. Period. Sure,she’s a great entrepreneur. Maybe a great soul. Maybe a tad bit entertaining. But she has the musical skills of a pig. And not even Diamond Platnumz, the god of Bongo,could save her ass. They both sound horrendous in that song actually,if you ask me. Bad chorus. Pathetic stanzas. And Akothee’s songwriting is as bad as the guy who photoshopped Seve Gat’s into China. My Sweet Love was not sweet at all. Not to me. And I don’t care. Good? Good. Wonderful video though. But with all that money,sure,she could afford it.
8. Bolingo Na Ngai – Obinna
This Nigerian-wannabe Clown should never have been allowed into a music studio. And yet it was. He keeps doing music. I am not sure for who. Maybe to deaf octogenarians at a forgotten City Council home. He’s not even a brilliant comedian. And now he’s so enamored with music. And thinking he can sing. This Bolingo Na Ngai thing is supposed to be a Gospel song. But even God has class. Sure,He is an all-loving,all-gracious God but that’s no excuse to feed Him cheap,lowbrow third-rate stuff you can’t even feed your chickens. And No,attempting to fuse Lingala and Nigerian patios will never work for you Obinna. Never. Good God.
7. Wedding Ringer – Nazizi
After three decades away from the Industry,this is the song you are going to come back with? Even Ndarling P would do better than this. Wedding Ringerwas so massively promoted and popularized,I couldn’t wait for its release. There were all of these expensive social media hype campaigns for the song. Even a frickin ‘ billboard along Jogoo Road announcing the coming of the song. If only she spent as much creative skill as she spent money in the making of the song. Wedding Ringer is not even a song you want to play at your Divorce proceedings. Leave alone at your wedding. Nazizi can’t even sing to start with. And her Jamaican patios thing kind of faded away like some 10 years ago. Wrong song. But amazing video. I mean,it was beyond HD. It was 4K. But still,nothing new. Nothing fresh. Nothing interesting. Just another former Queen of Rap trying to sound mushy. And failing disastrously. No weddings for me please.
6. Muthoni Drummer Queen /Kagwe Mungai – Hot This Year.
Excuse me? Hot what? This year? Not even Hot this week,kids. You cannot call your song Hot This Year and it’s no longer ‘Hot’ three days after release. If only Muthoni stuck to spoken word and poetry. And throwing those massive Blankets and Wine gigs. And Kagwe? What should he concentrate on more? Looking pretty? Or modeling? I’m not sure.
5. Third Party Lover – Dela
How do you go from covering Adele so flawlessly,garnering all of these massive international rave reviews to doing a song that is a cheap knockoff of Ugandan female dancehall singers? Third Party Lover is a third party song. For third party listeners. With third party jobs. It’s plain lame. And not very inspirational. She laments over the most basic stuff in the most basic way. The beat also sounds like it was jacked off from Cynthia Morgan’s German Juice. Her Adele legacy was so strong. And she washed it all down with this rundown,unoriginal cheap attempt at being a ragamuffin bad gal. Bad move.
4. Usinikazie Dus Nyau – Timmy Dat.
Like Tyra Banks would say, ‘How could you?!!! I was rooting for you. We were rooting for you. We were all rooting for you!’ There’s no one new Kenyan rapper I had mode faith in than Timmy Dat. Somehow,he had won me and I was so excited he was here with us. All of his past jams have been massive hits. And surefire club bangers. And then he did Dus Nyau. And went from rising star to same old crap real quick. Dus Nyau? Like for real? My 16-year old high school cousin wouldn’t even sing something this bad. With lyrics this cheap. And then he put Shaniqwa in the cheap video. Come on now. You cannot be allowed to make so many mistakes in such a short time. Massive fail. He should he sued.
3. Proff – Wako Wapi
This guy used to be a background singer and dancer for Redsan. Free advice,go back to the Redsan band. You were clearly never meant to make it on your own. Never ever. Not with songs like ‘Wako Wapi’. But then again, I’m not sure Redsan would even agree to sign you back with the band. He may not way to be associated with the embarrassments you’ve been causing yourself. Mr. Professor.
2. Alaine – Wafula
She came in Kenya once, we fell in love with her. Now she thought she could always come here and bore us dry with her laughter and silly attraction to fictional luhya men. Who thought that a little freestyle at the Carnivore would materialize into a real song? Complete with a video? Come on now! Alaine stretched the joke too far. Literally. What happens at the Churchill Show remains at the Churchill Show. You just don’t take it beyond that stage. You shouldn’t. Pole sana but even Wafula is not impressed. And then they brought Churchill into the single! And made him rap. Who said God’s ways of punishing people weren’t mysterious? Wafula is a song that should never have been done. And please,Miss Alaine, could you not visit us for sometime please. We will be just fine. Stay at home,mami. We have enough problems already.
1. Noti Flow – Birthday Cake.
This is probably the worst cake anyone can ever eat. Especially on a birthday. It’s tacky,raunchy, sleazy,steamy,sweaty,butt-sy, messy,tawdry,gaudy,dirty. I won’t say much on the Rap skills-or lack thereof – of notorious Instagram icon Noti Flow. I will let you watch the song and read ALL of the YouTube comments. All. Nothing I can say here is going to come close to how raw, visceral,sincere,brutally honest, unforgiving and vicious the YouTube comments on this song are. She does sound like a dying Japanese cat,yes. And her raps sound like squirrels locked in a brutal midnight forest fight. Or like snakes making love. Read the rest of the commentary on this song on YouTube and you will agree with us that this is THE WORST song. Not of 2016. But probably the last decade.
