Sheila then went on to revel that despite societal pressure, she is really comfortable with herself and is not in a hurry to settle down.”I was born solo, so no worries or trouble with living solo” she said.

Last year, popular fashion blogger Sharon Mukami Mundia of This Is Ess got engaged to her boyfriend Lonina Leteipan in the most grand of ways.

She was flown over Mt. Kenya before her boyfriend proposed by the beautiful Lake Michaelson. Her engagement story blew up social media and some point, her site where she had shared the story practically crashed.

And from them on, people have been dying for a dose of the Lonina-Mukami romance.

Sharon has already had her traditional ceremonies but her main ceremony will be later this year. She was however not keen on giving out the details of her upcoming wedding as she got overwhelmed by the reaction that her engagement story wrought.

“I’ve had my traditional ceremonies but not the main ceremony which will be later this year.” she told fans on her You Tube Channel.

“I’ve gotten a lot of questions about my wedding and just giving updates. I feel bad because I know I started off thinking and saying I would share updates but things changed after I shared my engagement story.

The reaction that came about after the proposal made me nervous, it scared me and made feel like perhaps I was sharing too much.” She said.

When she shared the story at first, she thought she was just sharing with people who read her blog and she didn’t think it would be a huge thing.

But then it blew up, became this huge thing and got a life of its own, spinning out of control and becoming something she could not manage anymore. And that got her really anxious and she promised to never to share pictures of her private life again.

But this decision came with a dilemma of its own, she was caught between keeping her life chini ya maji and at a controllable level or opening up to her fans by sharing her wedding details.

Ciku Muiruri’s beloved daughter, Erica Gachoka is leaving the country for studies abroad.

Erica, aced her IGCSE exams with straight A’s before proceeding to the luxurious St. Andrew’s Turi for her college. She completed successfully and now she is headed to the University of Nottingham to do a Bsc in Industrial Economics.

“This week my daughter leaves Kenya for the UK to join the University of Nottingham to do a BSc in Industrial Economics. She was born just the other day. Tears…! Hanging out this weekend with her Godmother Sheila Mwanyigha and tomorrow with the family to wish her well in her next chapter of life. Love! Blessings! GOD IS GOOD! ALL the time….”

Ciku Muiruri posted the news feeling both proud and a little bit sad considering how close they have been.  Her daughter has grown in front of our eyes courtesy of her mother who delighted in sharing all her daughters achievements with her social media followers.

We wish the young lady a great time abroad and all the best in her studies.

After over 5 months since its audio was released, Gilad and Dela finally unveiled the visuals to their emotion-laden ballad, Nakuahidi – Swahili for ‘I promise you.’

The video which is a Harmony Africa production was directed by PrivaTe 19 who vividly brought the story line to life, highlighting the life of our brothers and sisters serving in the front line.  A story of hope and desperation, joy and celebration.  A story of love and promises that come with it. Of greetings and goodbyes.  This marked the first time Gilad switched directors since his debut single – Unajua.

Produced by MG Studios, the song talks about two lovers bidding farewell to each other as one has to leave to fend for the family, hence the promise to see each other again. From the start, Nakuahidi was poised to be a unique offering for both artists and their fans.

 “I recorded my bit and then approached Dela after hearing her Swahili cover to Adelle’s Hello. The song just felt perfect for her vocals. When I met and played it to her at a parking lot, she agreed to come to the studio later on. In the end, the song had evolved into the emotional ballad that we have,” Gilad said.

Even though Nairobi is the Capital City, and also the home of all things truly wild and nocturnal, Mombasa has been steadily becoming the absolute entrainment hot-spot for years – Not just for the sand and the sand, not just for the windy beaches and breezy villas, but also for the wildness exhibited in the nightclubs littered across the Arabian-style town.

According to Bruce, who is also a legendary producer, talent scout and iconic leader of Kenya’s entertainment industry, Mombasa’s success at maintaining an ever-hype party life boils down mainly to five things – proper membership base, women, proper marketing plan, theme nights, good sound, good music and obviously security.

“Ladies are the life of the party. Anywhere across the World… You didn’t have a good party if the ladies didn’t enjoy themselves… And to keep them, who are your best clients, you need to entice them and make them keep coming again and again… And that’s how we introduced things like theme nights to keep them fresh and always anticipating something new… “Bruce says.

All of this would be useless if you didn’t plan out a proper marketing strategy, Bruce adds.

“Most people start clubs just for the same. And then, sit and expect people will automatically flock in. Wrong. You’ve gotta go out of your way to get the clientele. Gotta market that joint with the last drop of your blood if need be… Luckily, unlike then, today there’s social media for that… “

In fact, Bruce is a Director of Club Casablanca, one of Mombasa biggest nightclubs.

“Somehow, this club was never meant to be. It just happened as a necessity. We used to run a club called Toyz back then… Back in the 80’s. Still in Mombasa. Now, around 1987, that’s when the USS Kitty Hawk came to the Coast. It’s a massive Aircraft carrier that hosts  some thousands of marines… “Bruce says of the origin of Casablanca.

“Now, these Marines would come to party at Toyz, our initial club. But Toyz was high end, sort of very exclusive joint that didn’t allow twilight girls in. We just didn’t. We had a rule. But for the sake of the marines, most of them single dudes with very hot blood, we temporarily allowed these girls into Toyz. For the men to party with… We broke a rule, for the marines. And these men-hunting night girls found a home at Toyz… For the first time. “Bruce continued.

But after the marines – plus their ship left, the Twilight girls didn’t go with them. They continued to patronize Toyz… As they had had their embargo lifted.

“After they left, we wanted to take back Toyz to what it used to be. An exclusive, classy haunt for the classy and the exquisite and the moguls. We had to find an alternative for this clientele.

But after seeing that there was quite a huge demand for these girls, and that they would really become a cash cow, the team had an idea…. and they decided to start a club specifically designed for them! And call it Casablanca!

“Yes… And that’s exactly what happened. We opened a huge club called Casablanca… Dedicated to all folks. Its obvious and evident that its success, to date, has never been matched.

Casablanca still stands… To date. Still buzzes, still rattles the town, still roars and still shakes the City. Decades later.

Mac Muga. A song that was done by Ali Kiba back in 2007 that subliminally took shots at some former superstar who squandered all of his wealth,fame and fortune and crawled back to a life of penury and destitution after many frivolous wild nights with women and booze.

Speculations started immediately. Who was the subject of that song? At whom was Ali Kiba directing his jibes? Who was the subject of the mawkish song that was sang with so much raw emotion and even melancholy?

Quickly,it was decided that the song,which became an East African smash hit,was directed at none other than former high-flying Tanzanian crooner Mr. Nice.

Tales started abounding.

We started hearing of what a sorry mess Mr Nice had become.

We started hearing stories of what a waste of talent the man had become even after he was once the Number One East African star. With crossover hit records including Fagilia,Kidalipo and Kikulacho.

The man who invented the infectious Takeu style of dance was now a ghastly,ghostly figure of his former glorious self.

A broke,drunken wretch living a life of a scrawny street dog.

The Mac Muga song came and went… And for a minute,we forgot the Mr Nice tribulations to focus on other pressing matters like the General Elections,butchering each other over the election results and everything else in between.

And then in 2013,the cancer that refuses to go resurfaced ; Mr. Nice got signed by Grandpa Records.

It was a beautiful time and the Grandpa fraternity was praised for dragging this scuzzball from his death bed and giving him life again.

But less than three months after he got signed,Grandpa Records dropped the artiste like the proverbial hot potato releasing what remains to be one of the most hard-hitting analysis of any human being ever done by a record label.

Grandpa released this scathing statement to the media,

To Grandpa Records fans and friends we’ve decided to drop Mr nice from Grandpa Records artists’ roster. Mr Nice has been terminated for violating the agreement we entered with him. For the sake of media and the general public we will summarize and say this, Mr Nice is the most difficult, uncooperative, lazy, unreliable artist we’ve ever worked with. The points and incidents of conflict are too many to mention here. To be brief Mr Nice had previously signed a deal with Sallam Sharaf and Lamar in Tanzania and did not disclose this to us at the point of being signed to grandpa records. All in all, aluta continua we tried our best but he failed us.

And with that,Grandpa said adios to this terribly unreformable thug.

We blogged about it. Bitched about it and spent our tea breaks and beer gatherings analysing the sudden turn of events.

Again,we moved on from discussing the fellow and he crawled back to his native Tanzania,broke,dejected and dumped.

Flash Forward to mid 2016 :

 Around the first of August 2016,which is last month,Mr Nice,who was on Citizen TV the other week to try and wow you with his bogus has-been tales,moved into the Athi River neighborhood in Machakos County,Kenya.

Broke and miserable as usual,the man moved into a little one-bedroom house at an estate called Sunset Boulevard.

The rental house goes for Ksh. 16,000 per month.

After settling in the estate,it was time for him to reclaim his former glory and find ways to make some coins to pay his house rent and also satiate his insatiable desire to get drunk as hell. Also,to afford food. That is,if he eats at all.

And that’s how he met some Kikuyu guy whose name we wont publish,an events organizer around Athi River who took him (Mr Nice) under his wings and started hustling for local shows around Kitengela for the former Tanzanian superstar.

Soon enough,the promoter,a well known figure around Athi River,started booking Mr Nice for cheap shows around dingy clubs in the Kitengela environs.

Mr Nice started performing in the clubs every weekend… Sometime even on weekdays,settling for some thirty thousand,twenty thousand and even sometimes,as little as ten thousand per show.

But as they say,old habits die hard.

Even after having a house rented for him and having some guy running around trying to book him for local shows around the neighborhood,Mr Nice’s burning desire to hit the bottle never quite left him.

He remained the ill-mannered,uncultured womanizing alcoholic he always was and always will be.

Barely a month after settling down,Mr Nice started hitting local pubs to while his evenings away ordering bottle after bottle after bottle.

On a lazy evening,Mr Nice started hitting some rundown,makuti pub to play pool with the Boda Boda guys for hours. Drinking his whole evening away,laughing and mingling with the barmaids,taking a Boda Boda home after an evening of wastage and wantonness.

“Amekuwa jamaa wa mtaa tu… Jamaa wa kawaida huku… Mimi nimembeba mara mob… Saa ingine hata halipangi Boda Boda… Huwa ameshaakunywa pesa yote… Lakini namfikisha tu nyumbani… “ one Boda Boda operator told Ghafla.

Always the tipple-loving boozer,Mr Nice continued his drunken and whoring ways,eventually befriending some barmaid who used to work at the Blue Bridge pub located in the neighboring Jam City slums.

Everyday,Mr Nice started visiting the Blue Bridge pub not just to drown himself in alcohol but also to see his girl,the barmaid.

The tiny Blue Bridge pub where Mr Mice has been drinking his whole life away with the pub’s barmaid who was then SACKED after she wasted a staggering Ksh. 30,000 worth of drinks stock with Mr Nice.

Things happened fast and within no time,Mr Nice started sleeping with the barmaid day after day,taking her home after she was done selling for the night.

And then,trouble started.

Mr Nice just couldn’t afford to pay for his runaway drunkenness. But he needed to drink so bad.

Therefore,he started visiting the pub every single day. And started drinking FOR FREE.

The barmaid didn’t see into Mr Nice’s cheeky schemes and,blinded by her affection for him,started supplying him with free drinks on a daily basis.

He drank and drank and drank. And never paid for a thing.

And by the time the pub owner discovered what was going on,the barmaid had wasted away stock worth Ksh 30,000 on Mr. Nice.

She was promptly SACKED. And now,the pub runs the risk of closing down.

“Huyu Mr Nice alikuwa anakuja hapa kila siku kulewa na huyo msichana… Wanakunywa Wanakunywa mpaka asubui. Na halipi… Wanakunywa tu… Baadaye, it was discovered hawa watu walikuwa wamekunywa stock ya thirty K. Huyo Dame wa bar alifutwa hapo hapo… “ one of the pub guys who frequents the pub confidently told us.

After the sacking, the barmaid was left jobless and hopeless.

And then she moved into Mr Nice’s house.

“Hata saa hii wanaishi pamoja… Mr Nice na huyo dame… “ a Mr Nice neighbor,who just lives a block away from him,told us.

Even as his tribulations confounded him,Mr Nice’s love for the bottle never quite left him.

“Last week alienda hapa… Kuna pub huitwa Savannah Delta…. Alienda hapo kukunywa. Kumbe jamaa hana hata pesa… Jamaa akakunywa machupa all night. Bill ikafika 1,700. Jamaa anashindwa kulipa,ilibidi ma waiter wachukue phone yake… Hata saa hii sijui kama amerudishiwa phone… “ a source who witnessed the whole embarrassing fiasco confided to Ghafla.

Unable to settle such a little bill,Mr Nice was thoroughly embarrassed after the staff at the Savannah Delta club,in Athi River,confiscated his mobile phone and sent him away. Soaked in shame.

The Athi River club that confiscated Mr Nice’s mobile phone after he was unable to settle a cheap Ksh. 1,700 bill after a long night of drinking.

Other reports paint an even less glossy image of the once high-flying Tanzanian star who,last year,had to be suspiciously admitted at the Kahama Hospital in Shinyanga, Tanzania for two weeks for what he claimed was food poisoning by his political detractors. Many questioned the authenticity of that claim.

Also,back in November 2015,that’s like a year ago,the downcast singer appeared on East Africa Television’s Planet Bongo to address his destructive drinking habits and said these words which startled the entire East Africa,

”That’s why am getting drunk alot! Because I have money. It’s my money! So I drink all the beer that I want because of my money!”

Mr. Nice even bragged that he can drink so much so that he may end up sleeping at the pub. And that he’s perfectly fine with waking up in a dingy pub,drunk and incoherent.

The man’s legendary arrogance remains. And his appetite for drinking -and drowning his little finances down the pub drain- seems to never want to leave him.

Truth is,Mr Nice is as broke as a Class Four girl in the Huruma Slums in a tattered dress. He doesn’t drink HIS money. He has none…He lives off women and barmaids and cheap friends and handouts and favors and kickbacks. And drinks his whole life away…Putting everyone around him in trouble. Even himself.

The entire Athi River community is staring at a disaster waiting to happen. And if no one moves fast enough and saves this man from himself,we will not be having him around long enough to even do stories such as these.

Ali Kiba has been vindicated.

There’s nothing Nice to write home about.

Poor soul.

Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior was in tight spot recently after a woman took him to court over allegations that the senator had abdicated his responsibilities of a dad over the child he had sired out of wedlock with the woman.

The lady Victoria Ndung’e Musyoki caused quite a stir with revelation of how the Senator had pledged millions of shillings in different expenses.  The lady is back this time bragging that she was the 2^nd most Googled name in Kenya during September.

In her debut Swahili song which is sure set to be  big hit, the Chocolate City signed singer drops a couple of lines one which insinuates Huddah hits on to older men for money the so called ‘sponsors’.

On top of exhilarating and funky beats, Victoria “Kimani opens with the following lines ujue Natoka Mbali, Victoria Kimani nani, Wanajua Mi Ni Nani..Sihanyi Mabuda, Mimi sio Huddah…”

It may have been a simple case of artists freedom but it sure will strike home and Huddah, being the prima donna she is will sure have a response.

Given her recent fights with fellow socialites, Victoria Kimani may have opened a Pandora box unless she did have some scores to settle with Huddah. For now we enjoy the great song she has released featuring Airline as we wait for the response. Here is the song.

 

 

Celebrated female rapper Xtatic revealed on her social media that she is an atheist.

What’s more she revealed that she was the secretary of the Atheist in Kenya association and was scheduled to be a speaker at a workshop on ‘Godless Parenting’.  

The first post got so much heat as many associated her with devil worship. Such was the reaction on internet the rapper got on last Friday’s The Trend to explain not just her lack of beliefs but also how she is raising up her daughter.

“Boom tonight. I tackle what i can regard as ignorant reactions. 
I’ll be talking on the ‘godless parenting’ issue that has got people’s panties in a bunch so you can see that it is no different than any kind of parenting but parenting as an atheist/free,critical thinker in a highly religious world and more on the misconceptions on atheism and agnosticism.”

Many of the comments were condemning and rebuking her stand. The rapper was in good mood and took the challenge answering questions from when she made the change, her parents’ thoughts about her and views of life after death. On social media she has gone on with her message of love talking of usually controversial topics from homosexuality to African Spirituality.

Jesus come get a few of your people now … ✋??, a grown man with the same similar brain capacity as all human beings wrote this? 
This kind of IGNORANCE is what we plan/want and need to eradicate. We need to keep this form of foolishness from our children. 
I mean, aren’t the children burning schools religious and in HIGHLY RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS?

Grace replied with “Thank you Paul. God is Absolutely Amazing! All the Glory back to Him.”

It seems that the Kenyan socialites are getting paired up.

First it was Risper Faith who introduced her handsome man, then Huddah unleashed some light-skinned guy said to be from Tanzania, now Vera has unveiled her new man.

In a photo taken presumably in Dubai where she is doing some club hosting, Vera showed her fans how her man welcomes her. Not with a hug, not with a kiss but with a handful grab of your butt.

Esther Passaris caused a stir when she paraded hectares of her yellow skin thighs a few days ago. But that wasn’t an isolated incident.

The fact that Esther Passaris, who is in her 50s, can make the whole nation talk about her thighs, is absolutely impressive.

Most pentagenarians have thighs that have been infested with wrinkles, and which not many people will want to take a second look at.

Even though Ms Passaris denied photos which showed her thighs, which were taken when she graced Miss World Kenya event at the Villa Rosa Kempinski, Esther has other photos taken at separate places which also showed a huge chunk of her skin.

They say that a woman’s instinct to protect her children can be compared to a lioness guarding her cubs.

But unfortunately this fierceness doesn’t apply to all women. And some mothers betray those they were chosen by Mother Nature to protect in the worst of ways. Such as this woman did when she picked some random men to abuse her 10 year old daughter in the worst of ways.

Michelle Mertens from New Mexico, US arranged for at least 3 men from dating website Plenty of Fish to abuse her 10 year old daughter Victoria .

The reason for this was because she enjoyed watching the depraved act of men sexually assaulting her own daughter.

According to the police, the young Victoria was found dead on her birthday, her body dismembered.

The young girl’s body had been injected with stimulant drug crystal meth; she was sexually abused, strangled and stabbed to death.

Her mother has been arrested alongside Fabian Gonzales who is said to have been the abuser.

The two acted in the company of Marten’s cousin Kelley who held the 10 year old down while 31 year old Gonzales raped and later throttled the tot.

Kelley went on to stab the child before they chopped her up and set her on fire in a bathtub.

Speaking to the press after the arrest of this monsters, Albuquerque Police Chief Gorden said “This is a horrific tragedy for our community. I want to assure the public that we will pursue justice and we will make sure that we exhaust every resource into this investigation.”

Men, born again Christians to be precise, are being caught in ugly sex scandals on Whatsapp. It all started with Bro Ocholla who caused chaos on Embakasi Prayercell.

Several miles away from Kenya, a South African preacher decided to end his life after realizing his ‘D’ photo was readily available for his faithful on Whatsapp.

Pastor Letsego of the Christ Embassy church in Limpopo, South Africa mistakenly sent a photo of his manhood on Whatsapp group with a caption reading; “Wife is away; it’s all yours tonight”.

Daily Guide says the pastor was intending to send the nude photo to his lover who is also a member of the church.

Pastor Letsego immediately left the Whatsapp group when he realized what he had done. He also stopped answering calls from anyone.

The man of god decided to give shame a wide berth by hanging himself; his lifeless body was found dangling on a rope in his house a day later after he sent the raunchy photo on Whatsapp.

Prior to the incident, the deceased had been rumored to be fooling around with a female church member only known as Miriam.
