Last Saturday Bahati peed on the presidency when he decided to order Uhuru off his seat so that he could flirt with the First Lady. His action drew uproar and Bahati has since come out to address the eyesore that happened at Kasarani.

While some are blaming President Uhuru for lowering the value of the presidency, others squarely laid the blame on Bahati.

“The truth is I got really emotional and whatever I did could have gone out of hand. I truly love the President and I was only acting like a child would with a father. I am truly sorry to the President and all Kenyans who felt I did something wrong,” Bahati was quoted by MondayBlues.

The Jubilee Alliance Party launch at Kasarani has brought with it numerous side stories that now have overshadowed the main launch story.

However, for all the drama one man is sure laughing his way to the bank. Musician Jaguar who is in quite close terms with the president reportedly made away with 1 million shillings as fees paid for his 4 minute show.

It is really a cool sum for the just four minutes after which the musician left and headed off to Kisii on a humanitarian mission to Kisii village in Nairobi that was razed by a fire disaster which left hundreds homeless. here are pictures of his performance at Kasarani.

 

 

 

 

Diamond is the undisputed king in East Africa, probably Africa as well. But last Saturday night some dirty trick was played to devalue Chibu Dangote in the face of his bitter rival, Ali Kiba.

Belittling Diamond will not work, Mombasa governor should know better. After the Peoples’ Convention at the ODM’s 10th anniversary celebrations, Governor Hassan Joho threw a bash to wind up the day in style.

Protocol calls for juniors to perform first before seniors take to the stage, but this was not the case in Mombasa.

Apparently organizers decided to switch up things a little bit. Ghafla! is told that Joho, who is a favorite of Ali Kiba, decided that the ‘Aje’ hit maker should perform last. For no apparent reason other than favoritism; contrary to protocol.

Diamond was not informed of this iniquitous plan, and disaster happened when he realized he had been tricked to curtain raise for his archenemy.

Diamond learnt Ali Kiba was to grace the stage just after he had dropped a mind-blowing performance and this is when he decided to take matters into his own hands delaying to leave the stage and asking the fans to join him instead.

Diamond’s ego couldn’t allow him to leave the stage for a junior singer. His prolonged stay on stage even caused a sudden wild rush of revelers towards the stage.

People wanted to know what was happening as they saw Diamond being talked to. Apparently organizers of the gig were persuading Diamond to leave the stage so that Ali Kiba could also perform.

In the long run, Diamond left the stage and Ali Kiba had his time with the revelers that thronged Mama Ngina Drive.

Bahati was one of the headlining acts at the official launch of the new JAP at Kasarani.

His performance which saw him literally un-seat the president and spend quite some time singing to the first lady. His act, of sitting on the symbolic presidential seat attracted and still attracts a lot of venom.

Critics and supports have sparred online on whether the gospel star was right or wrong. However, as this continues Bahati is clearly relishing the rare moment of privilege and the attention that came with it. 

On his social media his celebrated what he called his short term presidency and was clearly elated by the feat.

Later he would explain his actions as down to emotions which had him carried away until he forgot all protocol.

Willy Paul should have just been a secular musician because he’s doing such a fantastic work while performing in nightclubs.

Both politics and showbiz witnessed beehive of activities over the past weekend; while Diamond and Ali Kiba were rocking Coasterians, and Bahati Nairobians, Willy Paul pitched camp in Nakuru.

Willypozee started off his date with Nakurians with a gig at Egerton University- main campus, before he made his way back to Nakuru town to drop performance at Club Sting.

Dressed in a combat cap and a black vest, Willy freely mingled with revelers on the dancing floor as he sung his hit songs.

The controversial gospel singer blew away party-goers at club Sting when he sang his new hit song “Fanya”.

The Kenyan political scene is straddled by dynasties. It is almost a given that a son, wife or even grandson of a current strong political leader.

After JAP took over the city with their party launch, ODM decided to return the favor this time heading to the coastal city Mombasa.

Here the party held a colorful and pompous celebration  for their tenth aniiversary. Top bongo artistes Ali Kiba and Diamond Platinumz headlining the performances. The celebrations which were graciously hosted by Ali Hassan Joho and the delegates as well as party officials were thrilled by performances with Diamond Platinumz in particular setting the stage alight at night.

Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has made headlines across the globe after his brutal acts were exposed. Western media have named him the most brutal dictator of modern time.

The 74-year-old president of Equatorial Guinea has been ruling the tiny oil-rich Central African state for 37 years; he ascended to power after overthrowing his uncle and had him executed by firing squad.

Teodoro cemented his grip on power by ruling with an iron-fist; he has been accused of skinning his enemies alive and eating their testicles, brains and livers.

The Equatorial Guinean president is said to eat his opponent’s testicles to boost his sexual prowess, and other organs as a form of revenge.

One of Teodoro’s opponents, Severo Moto, was quoted saying the Equatorial Guinean president devoured the testicles of a former police commissioner.

Severo, who is in exile, revealed the cannibal president had tried to woo him back to the Central African country to eat his testicles.

“[He] wants me to go back to Guinea … [so he can] eat my testicles.” Severo was quoted by Daily Mail.

Teodoro’s former aide also spilled the beans on him revealing that the dictator claimed he could kill anyone without going to hell.

“He can decide to kill without anyone calling him to account and without going to hell because it is God himself, with whom he is in permanent contact, and who gives him this strength.”[sic]

Ken wa Mwangi’s job at Kenya Airports Authority is at risk after he trended all over the weekend following his sexual comments directed at children.

Ken wa Mwangi took to Facebook to make what he thought were wise and macho comments. This is what he posted and followed up in the replies;

The comments quickly became viral with many wondering what a grown up man like him was doing with class six and nursery children. The post was immediately taken as some sort of personal confession and Kenyans on Twitter and other social platforms called for his arrest.

His employer KAA has now responded following all the negative publicity their employee has brought them. They responded by stating that investigations were well underway and that as an organization they respect women and children rights.

 

 

Ken wa Mwangi has tried to appologize saying it was all a joke but it is difficult to see how his employer will be buying that.

Three women wearing buibui were last Sunday killed by police when they attacked Mombasa Central Police Station.

The three; Tasnim Yakub Abdullahi Farah, Fatuma Omar and Mariam, were reportedly trying to free some prisoners held at the police station.

The attackers entered the police station complaining their phones had been stolen only for one of them to throw a petrol bomb at police officers while the two went on rampage stabbing other police officers.

Officers on duty at Mombasa Central Police Station responded with heavy fire killing all the three terrorists on spot.

The female terrorists were wearing bulletproof vests while one was wearing a suicide vest that failed to detonate when police opened fire at her.

The bodies of the three terrorists that had been disfigured by police bullets, were left lying on the ground for hours before they were taken to Coast General Hospital Mortuary.

Last Saturday the flamboyant Lupita Nyong’o was out to make a fashion statement with her ultra expensive jewellery.

The Kenyan actress strutted down Toronto International Film Festival red carpet wearing jewellery worth $624,000 or Kes 63 million.

Lupita was at Toronto International Film Festival for the premier of ‘The Queen of Katwe’; the movie that was shot in Uganda.

Everybody was eagerly waiting for Maina’s comeback… And when he finally showed up at work, even his boss couldn’t wait to pose with him.

Maina Kageni has been missing in action for weeks after a tragic accident in Kajiado. While initially it was reported that the Classic FM presenter suffered a knee injury after slipping, Ghafla! established that Maina had actually been bitten by a snake.

Most of these ugly encounters have been because of unpaid dues; mostly because of unpaid parking fees.

Multimillionaire tycoon Donald Kipkorir and even Governor Evans Kidero have had their vehicles clamped over unpaid parking fees.

Mombasa governor yesterday flagged off 47 ODM branded buses from Mombasa to the forty seven counties to transport party delegates from all over Kenya to participate in ODM’s jamboree which is slated to be held in the coastal city on Saturday.

A club in Mombasa has decided to take the clubbing scene to another level.

It is paying revelers to party and not just some allowance or freebies but actual salaries. Club Hypnotica in Mombasa has set a first in the clubbing industry by scouting 24 of its most consistent patrons to be paid monthly under contract by the club.

Their job is to do the very thing they love and spend much funds on, partying wild. Speaking to Baraka FM the club manager told of how they intend to use the model set famous by the likes of Huddah and Vera who get paid to headline parties and events.

 The manager Daisy said they are looking to create jobs this way and will start by the 24 girls who will later be narrowed down to 12 girls. 

 

Jacob Juma’s widow could become homeless as a bid to kick her out of the 5.5-acre parcel of land in Karen has been initiated.

Even before the mystery surrounding Jacob Juma’s death is solved, petitioners claiming to be the rightful owners of his parcel of land in Karen are giving his widow a headache.

Some six lawsuits have been filed in court claiming the ownership of the expansive piece of land where Jacob Juma’s house in Karen sits.

The petitioners claim the late businessman forged documents to claim ownership of the piece of land in Karen; they want the court to kick out Jacob Juma’s widow, Miriam Wairimu.

The plaintiffs include; Auriel Marie, Joy Kimemia, Mary Wanjiru Chege, William Silala Sano, Suakei ole Parkire and Latoo Enepriakanga Nchepai.

All the people claiming ownership of the land wants the court to bring to book the offenders responsible for forgery of documents that state the contested parcel of land belongs to so and so.

Mwafaka Awards recently unveiled the nominees in the gospel ministry in a very glamorous event that attracted top acts in the entertainment industry.

Over the last 2 years, there has been a worrying trend of high school students getting busted with drugs and alcohol and even engaging in reckless sexual behavior.

Just last year, 40+ students of Kibirigwi Girls, Mukurwe-ini Boys, Kaheti Boys and Kanyama Secondary School and others from Kirinyaga County were intercepted at Kiangwachi, a few Kms from Karatina with bhang, alcohol in a bus heading to Nairobi. To make matters worse, the young people were even engaged in sexual activities in the said bus.

About a month later, 8 students were smoked out of a house in Lolwe Estate Kisumu County where they were also allegedly involved in an orgy.

Now another shocking incident has hit the news after 7 students were arrested in a house in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay. The students were said to be engaging in orgies and the neighbors raised the alarm due to suspicious nocturnal activity in the house.

“I have been interacting with these students mainly to learn their behavior. The boys confessed to me that they have been engaging in sex orgies in the house.” one resident said.

The students had been sent home for school-fees arrears and instead of going home they rented the house in which they engaged in these irresponsible activities.

Boy bands are a phenomena that didn’t start with the Backstreet Boys. They’ve been here much longer than we can imagine,from the days of the legendary Beatles to the eras of the Jackson 5 moving on even to the Bob Marley-led The Wailers and also the Freddie Mercury-led Queen.

And as we moved into the 1990’s,boy bands found a new voice and reformation with a much less menacing tone,more manicured look,softer style of music,more crossover appeal and even bigger and better exposure and packaging.

Most boy bands of the 1990’s that were wildly popular in Kenya were comprised mostly of R&B singers and also pop stars.

Backstreet Boys. Boys || Men. N’Sync.  Westlife. Take That.

But unbeknownst to many,even Kenya had her own local boy band that was all the rave, driving girls wild at the Carnivore Grounds on many a cold,idyllic nights.

Before the Sauti Sols and the HarttheBands and the Just A Bands,there was Five Alive,a musical powerhouse made up of the iconic Eric Wainaina,the burly Victor Seii,Bob Kioko, Chris Kamau, and David Mageria, who was later replaced by Joe Kiragu.

These Kenyans dominated the music scene in 1996 and drew their musical influence from Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

And anyone who was an avid music lover back then will not forget the band’s evergreen hits including the classic Oh Ndio Ndio and more.

Even though they didn’t last long,they did leave a lasting impact.

Victor Seii went on to become a producer of note and Bob Kioko went into broadcasting before leaving to get into real estate. Chris Kamau married the group’s producer Amina Noordin and headed to the US and it’s still not clear what happened to both David Mageria and Joe Kiragu.

Eric went to to become our Bob Marley… Ok,that’s too ambitious an analysis but still…

But Amina Noordin,to whom one of the band members was married,was not the only producer of the band.

Also,there was Bruce Odhiambo,one of the most esteemed and accomplished master producers of the 90’s and still,even of today.

Odhiambo even says that,at some point in 1995,the band received a cool Ksh. 250,000 as payment for a performance.

And in 1995,that was wayyy too much money. We’re talking millions here… For five dudes with cool voices,much more than the bands of today have ever received at a go.

And to keep fit,stay in shape,protect their vocal chords and maintain their ability to belt out the highest and deepest of notes,these band members would jog to Libra House daily. Yes,all the way and swim almost on a daily basis to clear up their lungs.

“Music was business… It was everything… I have never seen,to date,the kind of commitment,dedication and pure hard work that the Five Alive Band exemplified… It was sheer effort. Absolute drive and willpower… ” Bob remembers.

“Five Alive took home cheques worth 100,000 thousand Kenya Shillings plenty of times… That was like a million shillings plus… Back then,” Bob recalls.

Few of the local bands sweating it out on stage today pockets that much.

Maybe Sauti Sol have gone home with a pretty fat paycheck but not quite as fat and scrumptious as the one that Five Alive used to walk to the bank with.

“Back then,music was a business. Music was music. Three weren’t too many players in the field… And the thirst for authentic Kenyan tunes was very real and unquenchable, ” Bob says.

Today,with around a hundred thousand Bob,which really is not much,you can easily book a band to perform for you all night. And even cook dinner for you as the other members scrap your floor.

In the 1990’s,that was purely unheard of.

Big money was spent back then in the good old days of Carnivorizing a Friday night out in 1995 Nairobi City.

The cheating woman who was in her birthday suit was twerking for the driver as he placed his manhood on her butt. The driver was the one who took photos of their romantic escapade in a lodging.

The cheating lovebirds who both work for Nakuru County government took time off work to go smash in a lodging. And they were stupid enough to take photos while they were naked.

The driver who is attached to the governor’s office was identified as Joseph Mugambi while the cheating married woman was identified as Esther Githinji.

SDE says Mugambi accidentally uploaded a single nude photo of Esther and him on ‘Cross-Fire Nakuru Debate’ WhatsApp group.

The photo showed a naked Mugambi standing facing a mirror as he took photos, while Esther (also naked) was bending over rubbing her butt against Mugambi’s manhood.

By the time Mugambi realized the mistake he had done (accidentally uploading his nude on a Whatsapp group), the damage had already been done. The photo was widely shared on other social networking platforms.

The incident which happened last week prompted Nakuru Public Service Board to launch a probe into the behavior of the two employees.

Apparently the two lovebirds have not reported to work since their nude photos went online. Nakuru Public Service Board will take disciplinary action against the two if they are found guilty of flouting the employee code of ethics.

 A head teacher in Kisumu yesterday committed suicide and left behind a chilling suicide note.

George Oruongo the head teacher of Nyabondo Boys Boarding Primary school committed suicide citing pressure from people who were forcing his transfer to another school. Among those cited were the area MP  Nyakach Adumo Owuor.

“I have been frustrated by TSC and ministry (Education) officials both at the sub-county and county level, who ended up transferring me,”

The head teacher killed himself in the school compound and left behind the lengthy four paged suicide note saying he would not be transferred and pressurized to go to Seme as if Nyakach had no schools.

He still had the sense to apologize to his wife and children while directing a number of people to look after his property and children. He said in the note that he was dying for his stand and despite alerting security organs he got no protections from the people who threatened his life. He had served as headteacher there for 11 years and was due to get into the his new school on Tuesday.

He also promised to make his Kenyan trip memorable one, promising a performance that we will never forget.

His Zimbabwe and Kenyan trip will be his maiden trip to the continent and he is super stoked as he has always desired to perform on the African soil.

All Muslims are required to make pilgrimage to Mecca at least once during their lifetime. And going to Mecca to pray was Abdiaziz Aden’s death wish.

Am told pilgrimage to Mecca is the fifth pillar of Islam and a religious duty that all Muslims should undertake if they are able, at least once in their lives.

Cancer patient Abdiaziz Aden who is from Korogocho slums, had no means of getting to Mecca. After doctors in India told him he had only three months to live, Aden had only one wish; to go to Mecca to pray.

Kenyans of all religious backgrounds united and raised money to facilitate Aden to make a pilgrimage to Mecca to fulfill the religious rite.

Aden arrived in Mecca a few days ago and he was able to pray at Al Kaaba mosque, the most sacred mosque for Islamic faithful.

Millions of pilgrims usually make their way to Al Kaaba mosque during Hajj to pray, the mosque is considered the “House of Allah”.

“May Allah grant Shifaa (health)” Aden wrote on social media upon praying in Al Kaaba mosque.

Gospel singer Mercy Masika put up a spirited search for the boy who was seen in a viral video singing her song ‘Mwema.’

Tredy Bradly was traced and Royal Media employee, Daizy Kayech, took her in as her own child. Daizy, Mercy Masika and other well-wishers have been tirelessly working to make sure Tredy is enrolled in school.

Daizy yesterday broke the good news saying Tredy had been accepted at the prestigious Sankofa Academy in Syokimau, on a full scholarship basis.

A man today has suffered what could be termed as emasculating shame at City Star Restaurant.

This is after what was supposed to be a smooth sailing date went south with the lady involved leaving the man on his knees after saying yes and as the man went for the kiss, she declined. The patron at the popular joint were treated to free drama as the man was left on his knees for several minutes trying to find different angles to kiss the lady.

Try as he may did not succeed and ended up being embarrassed and the subject of speech from several of those present. Finally he gave up and resumed his seat as the planned magical moment never happened.
