The Oliech Family Saga Explained By A Lawyer (Dramatic Twist Included)

Fishbone Entertainment CEO Dennis Oliech has been in a tiff. His mom allegedly secured a  loan from KCB to finance a 2 million shilling project using a 40million property as collateral. Now this may have been a mis-step by mama Oliech, but still, she found herself at the doors of the Nairobi courts yesterday, screaming her head off at a KCB lawyer in the following video:

{youtube}yLwOsoGIi3M{/youtube}

Why would she do that in a seemingly open and shut case? And why would the rest of the Oliech family cause all the drama they have, in suing their own mother?

If it doesn’t add up for you, then here is the explanation footed by Ghafla’s own top-notch, in-house lawyer:

“There is a high probability that the family is together and no issues amongst its members. KCB took the land title deed and the only way to get it back is claim that the woman did not own the land and could therefore not dispose it off. You do this by showing via a court ruling that the land has other parties who are not part of the KCB loan issue. So its a strategic move by the family to get the land back.”

Yup, there you go. The whole drama may be an organised ploy by the whole family to correct their mother’s alleged error. What do you think about it all? Leave your interesting or creative responses in the comment section below:

Kambua Does It Again!

SoundMind 2012 brings you a hot new gospel track from one of the most beloved Christian music artistes, Kambua.

Her new single, A Matter Of Time, features great fusion between her and the crisp production. But we don’t expect less from one of the fastest rising producers in the country, Jaaz Odongo, who also produced Fena Gitu’s Africa Massive.  A Matter Of Time will be featured on the Freedom Mixtape

The song was written by Charles Righa, who also provides additional vocals and Jazz Odongo, who also produced the track. The guitars are played by Newman Owor and Jaaz Odongo.

Check out the behind the scenes footage of the ‘Colour Kwa Face’ video shoot

This was one of the most productive music that has ever come from a Kenyan artiste (not the only one, though). This song came together with the campaign to fight the mistreatment that comes with Albinism and that that the people suffering from it have to go through.

The ‘Colour Kwa Face’ campaign and song made it possible for a very good number of those suffering from Albinism to get help through the provision of sunscreen lotions all over the country.

Apart from all that productivity, this was a pretty good song done by Nonini and featuring Christine Apondi.

The behind the scenes footage of the video shoot and the project is finally out and you can get to see it below.

Size 8 in yet another TV Show

She is currently one of the most consistent celeb in Kenya right now. If she is not hosting your favorite dance competition show, Sakata, she is on your speakers blaring one of her hits. You can’t just close an eye to her, in short.

Well, speaking to 1FM, the petite singer revealed that she will be featuring in yet another local drama series. Though she wasn’t ready to divulge more details regarding the program, Size 8 however said that the series will premiere in January. The actor is not new to acting as she appears in Citizen TV’s Mashtaka where she plays the defendant, plaintiff or witness.

Most people do not know that Size 8 won her first local Kenyan credits from her acting roles in television, film and theatre. The singer also revealed that when she first started her acting career she knew that this was one of the best decisions she ever made.

Kisima Awards: A Tale Of Controversy And Disappointment.

Kisima Awards seem to be imploding and no one from the Kisima Academy that did the nominations is willing to speak up to defend the franchise.

This is either cowardly or strategically brilliant -time will tell. But for now, Kisima is doing more harm than good to it’s brand because the silence is only fuelling the suspicion. Top artists such as DNA, Daddy Owen, Cannibal and now Size 8 have pulled out. All this says is there’s a dip in confidence in the brand “Kisima” as an awards entity and a steep one if ever i saw one.
If Kisima keeps hemorrhaging stars at this rate, they will be left with a roster that isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. Yet they seem the least bit concerned with dealing with the rumours circulating about a dishonest selection and nomination process. Just how are songs from 3yrs ago such as Just A Band’s “Ha-He” in the running? Don’t get me wrong, i’m a huge fan of J.A.B’s but come on!
Then there’s the fact that Camp Mulla are going head to head with upcoming artistes and that fact has left Uncle Chim Tuna wondering whether Kisima understands the tag of upcoming or this is there way of reinventing the wheel. Camp Mulla are no longer an up coming act so making them have to compete against the small fry is insulting to their brand and unfair to up coming acts who won’t get the recognition they deserve.
I sent an email to the Kisima Academy but as a the time i decided to write this piece, the hadn’t responded even though the individual behind their twitter handle is as active as a jack rabbit’s sex life. So i have chosen to interpreter this as cowardice rather than strategic forethought.
Tina Kagia has been asking alot of pertinent questions and so has Adelle O both of One FM yet they have been met with the “great wall of China” in as far as cryptic and evasive responses have gone.
But i reiterate that if Kisima wants to maintain it’s brand and possibly build it should do is study a page from t5he Groove Awards playbook. They need to be transparent and forthcoming with information because all they are doing now is alienating the audience and without said audience’s goodwill, they are merely another CHAT Awards waiting to happen.
Kudos to DNA for stepping down on grounds of principle and here’s a shopulder shrug for Size 8 who stepped down for “personal reasons” but when everything is said and done, to offer 2million as your top prize then fail to attract top billed acts is just weak!
Kisima, over to you, we await to hear your side of the story.

This is what to expect from Jamaica’s Jah Cure this December

So, it has finally been confirmed that Jamaican singer, reggae sensation Jah Cure will be touching down on Kenyan soil in late November ahead of his concert which will be going down on the 1st of December.

Jah Cure will be bringing his soulfull and mostly romantic reggae music to Kenya, Live on stage as part of his ‘Call on me’ Tour. This will be another legendary concert from a Jamaican artiste and hopefully, he won’t lose anything.

With songs like, ‘Call on me’ (which is also the name of his tour), ‘Forever’, ‘Longing for you’, ‘In your arms of love’, ‘two way street’ and many more, there is absolutely no way you can have a bad time at this concert, unless ofcourse you don’t love reggae.

Jamaican artistes’ expertise, as I have noted in all their concerts here and all over the world, is in capturing the revellers’ attention in concerts. They even fix in short conversations and stories in between the concerts. Only reggae artiste are good at this and if you have never witnessed it, this is your chance. The energy that Jah Cure expels to his fans, is overwhelming.

Check out one of his concerts below so you may know what you are in for.

You Don’t Like James Bond? Sorry, You Are Now Alone

Starring Daniel Craig in his third outing as 007, the latest James Bond film, Skyfall, has been praised by critics, with some hailing it “the best Bond ever”. Most of writers with UK’s top newspapers have turned around to hail the movie even before its premiere. Take a look;

The Independent’s Geoffrey McNab said: “If not a full blown triumph, this is certainly one of the best Bonds in recent memory.”  McNab added in his review: “Mendes has gone back to basics: chases, stunts, fights. At the same time, he has subtly re-invented the franchise, throwing in far greater depth of characterization than we’re accustomed to in a series of films that are often proudly superficial.”

The Times’s Kate Muir called it “a great British bulldog of a movie”. “From the moment the orchestral sound of Adele belts out, sending a nostalgic shiver down the audience’s collective spine, we know this will be a triumphant return to classic Bond,” she wrote.

The Daily Mail’s Baz Bamigboye gave the film five out of five, calling the film “a fantastic combination of 007 meets Bourne meets Spooks meets Home Alone”.
Skyfall sees Dame Judi Dench reprise her role as MI6 director M, while Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw and Naomie Harris join the franchise as Bond’s co-workers. The decriers also praised Javier Bardem’s performance as villain Silva, with McNab saying “he combines pathos, grotesquerie and a Hannibal Lecter-like viciousness”.

However, The Guardian’s Xan Brooks was not as impressed as other critics. Giving it three stars out of a five, he praised the “whiz-bang first half” but said the film “falls prey to a common failing of many 50th birthday bashes: it allows sentimentality to cloud its judgment and loosen its tongue.”

The film opens in the UK on 26 October.

Octopizzo Set To Collabo with Mavado!

Stop whatever you’re doing and read this. Kenya’s hip hop king Octopizzo is about to pull a fast one on his fans and critics alike. Octopizzo, is taking his music a notch higher, this time involving international act, Jamaican musician, actor, DJ and music producer Mavado.

Octopizzo star seems to shining brighter every day be it in his diverse business ventures or his music career. Octo’s collabo with Mavado has been possible by none other Homeboyz Radio’s top DJ, G-Money. If you remember well, G-Money is the guy who organized for Wyre’s She Say Dat remix with Jamaica’s Ce’cile.

Octopizzo who could not hide his joy revealed that this is the best thing that ever happened to him and assured his fans that the end product will be a massive tune that will rule the airwaves for the longest time. If the plan materializes, Octo will be joining the list of world renowned artistes like Ace Hood, DJ Khaled, Rick Ross, Alicia Keys and Birdman who have worked with Mavado previously.

Really Octopizzo is unpredictable just like he said. Only time will tell what kind of stunt he’ll pull next!

Remember Attitude? He is About to Make a Comeback

You might remember Attitude as the gangster rapper from the mid-2000s who brought a new sound to Kenyan hip hop and married Mercy Myra. He did some sick collabos when he was around in Kenya.

Now the rapper has announced that he is getting ready to produce some new material:

“Back in the studio… Working on a project which actually has a release deadline!! Re-creating my style, but i think y’all gonna dig the result!! Excitement!!”

He even posted a photo to prove it.

We hope the Atlanta-based rapper will hit us up with some Kenya-friendly material and possibly collaborations with some of his former partners like Mercy Myra, Bamboo, Harry Kimani, Abbas Kubaff and Chiwawa.

People have been saying that nothing meaningful ever comes out of Tusker Project Fame. Well, this season, the organizers are planning to prove naysayers wrong.

The fifth season of the reality talent show will see the first ever TPF album, which will be released today at the Tribe Hotel. The Top 10 Fresh Hits Of The Season will feature music from all the contestants who made it into the top 10 of the show. Each artiste contributed a song to make the record that was executively produced by Universal Records.

The album was produced by some of the top producers in the country including Ogopa Deejays, R-Kay, Freddie Dillie, Eric Musyoka, Tim Rimbui and Madtraxx. The album features a wide range of genres from afro pop, RnB to neo-soul.

“Each song in the album remains true to the artiste’s music identity and brings out their vocal strengths. Each artiste is showcasing their talent and giving you an insight into what to expect from them as they launch their solo careers. We are very excited to be part of this turning point in the Project Fame story,” said Universal Group’s Gerrard Foster.

At the Tribe launch, media and industry influencers will be treated to an exclusive showcase of all the songs on the album plus a live performance by TPF5 winner Ruth Matete and one of the runners-up, Rwanda’s Jackson. The album will be available for listen on tuskerprojectfame.com from Friday, 19th October.

CONFIRMED: Jamaican artiste Jah Cure coming to Kenya

I’ve been dreaming of this day for the longest time and now, it’s about to become a reality. One of the biggest reggae artistes, celebrated in Jamaica and Internationally, will be performing in Kenya in a month’s time.

Jah Cure, real names Siccature Alcock, is well known in the reggae circles for his distinct, unique voice. The kind of voice that could be used to ‘toa nyoka pangoni‘. Husky, yet melodic. You don’t get to hear this kind of voice often, and the music that he makes leaves everyone’s mouth wide open, yearning for more. Especially the ladies.

Cure will be coming to Kenya in late November, as one of his stops for his latest tour dubbed ‘Call On Me Tour’. He will touch the stage and rock the massive on the 1st of December 2012 and I am almost sure this will be something like the Tarrus Riley concert. Maybe even better. No! I am positive it will be better.

You are probably wondering who is behind this huge and ‘legendary to be’ concert. Well, it is non other than ‘Big Tunes Live’, the same guys who brought us Tarrus Riley and Etana. Other sponsors of this concert are Q TV and ofcourse, Dohty Family Entertainment.

The concert will be going down at the Kasarani Indoor Arena from 7PM till late. The advanced tickets go for Sh. 2000 and Sh. 3000 at the gate. The V.I.P entrance goes for Sh. 5000.

Tickets are on sale at ticketskenya.com. Get yours now.

Check Out MALI’s Nandi Dancing in Bamboo’s Video Back in the Day

You might know her as the beautiful trouble-child on NTV’s hit soap show MALI where she plays Nandi.

In an interview with Ghafla!, Mumbi Maina revealed that she was once a dancer. A hip hop dancer would you imagine? With a crew and all. She even had evidence of that. She let us in on the fact that she had appeared in a Bamboo video.

That video was none other than Compe. We searched for the video, a sub-par quality version was all that was available on YouTube. But it was clear that Nandi was the chick with the weird dance move that sadly (or is it thankfully?) never caught on. We gif’d out the dance move so you could have time to watch it over and over and try to figure it out. Check it out below.

4 Reasons Why The TV Presidential Debate Is A Horrible Idea

While the TV Presidential debate is a first for Kenya, I still think it’s an awful idea and I am not mincing my words as I declare this! Granted, it’s an idea whose time has come but from the looks of things, Kenyans aren’t prepared to deliver something quality.
The Kenyan version of the presidential debate will be a complete disaster because of a couple of factors I do not believe anyone has taken into account. And what is shocking to me is that those sensible enough to see the pitfalls have kept quiet leaving the job of spotting the antelope to me and as Ngugi wa Thiong’o said, the antelope hates more he that pointed it out than he that shot it with bow and arrow.

And given this fact, I have no choice but to leave diplomacy at the door and jump right in.

#4. There are still far too many clowns still in the running for President.
There are too many jokers pretending for the seat of power and these harlequins are still in the field. So we’ll have a debate of 20+ candidates and some of these fellows won’t make it to the ballot papers. Even a few of those that do will get what? 3,000 votes? Come on!

#3. The sheer number of the debators
So how will it work hmm? In the American debate, there were only two candidates yet both wanted to get in the last word and that at times resulted in nothing but noise. Well, in Kenya, even if we chisel and whittle the field down to just the leading contenders, what you have is a classroom of children making alot of noise.

#2. The moderators
While I have no problem with the moderators, the truth is, they aren’t the best we could have picked. Not while we have John Sibi-Okumu, Richard Chacha, Jeff Koinange. Come on, if this debate is going to work, we need everyone to be the best. The best moderators, the best cameras crew etc.

#1. The quality of debators
The debators are Kenyan politicians. Enough said. Kenyan MPs save for Peter Kenneth and Martha Karua aren’t eloquent. I would hate to have to be subjected to an hour of incessant noise.

That is Uncle Chim Tuna’s humble opinion.

PHOTO: Huddah Monroe in Octopizzo’s Clothes

Octopizzo has worked hard to ensure he gets celebrities are seen wearing tees from his latest line, Ivo Ivo Ivo, to ensure maximum publicity. And one of the latest personalities seen with it might bring just that.

She is a socialite, model and serial gig attender. She is controversial. Some love to hate her. She might also be a pop culture commentator considering how her opionion on Marya’s song, Sishiki Simu, sparked an epic Twitter fight. You can’t just ignore her.

This time she makes it on Ghafla! for something she is wearing. She is almost unrecognizable with her clothes on. Presenting Huddah Monroe in an Octopizzo tee. Click on the image to enlarge.

Check out photos of other celebrities wearing Ivo Ivo Ivo tees here and here. Check out other photos of Huddah here and here.

The likes of the hilarious Eric Omondi (yes, he is a born again Christian), MC Jesse (you’ve seen him on Churchill), Dr. Ofweneke (the Kenyan with a Nigerian accent) will be in the house to tickle your ribs the entire afternoon. The international acts include the Energetic Joey (USA), South Africa’s The Napsta and Funny Man Dr. Shogo (Nigeria).

Rapper Kills It On the Slaughterhouse Beat

I’m lighting and thunder/I might bring it under/I might swing and bring up a storm/My next plot is keeping it red hot/And deeper than Bedrock and hotter than warm.”

In the track Mighty, Zedek takes a stab at The One instrumental originally used by Slaughterhouse. The danger of using a beat previously featuring the current reigning rap super group, everyone knows how well the instrumental can be used and so the bar is already set high for anyone who attempts it. To put it simply, Zedek does what you should do when faced with this challenge. He raps his a** off.

His skill at complex technical rhymes is fully on display. The syllables clash and connect in such a brilliant way that even those indifferent to rhyme schemes will marvel at just how well the verse flows. Punchlines? Expect them and not just simple metaphors but the kind that extend into a running theme.

But the part that probably gets to every Kenyan listener is when the flow flips and his verbal assault switches to Swahili. It’s a great track that hits at several levels.

Zedek is a Kenyan rapper, born and raised in Nairobi but a Pittsburg resident for the past two years. He says, “I’m not quite the archetypal rapper in that I don’t always represent what the stereotypical rapper embodies. I think that people generally have ideas of what ‘good’ music is or should be. One of the reasons I started doing music was to see how far I could push that idea or how much people are willing to accept as different but still good. Hopefully I can help make underground, obscure or alternative rap bigger than its been.”

The beat samples Boogie Down Productions I’m Still #1 and Lenny Kravitz’s famous hit, Fly Away. Check out Zedek’s impressive flow which perfectly merges hip hop and rock below.

ESTHER ARUNGA TIMBERLAKE EXCLUSIVE: Kenyan Minister after Timberlake’s life (PART TWO)

I hope you read the first part of this unravelling story about the Kenyan Governments activities concerning the Quincy Timberlake and wife, Esther Timberlake saga, submitted by non other than Esther Timberlake herself. If not, you will need to. Here’s the link, otherwise this next part will just confuse you.

The saga continues…

Our source explains that one of the key motivations for Hon Kajwang’s actions against Timberlake was for the selfish reason of breaking up his marriage. Timberlake is married to erstwhile TV anchor and barrister Esther Timberlake (nee Arunga). The Immigration Minister was a deacon at an SDA church in Nairobi, where Esther previously fellowshipped, before he rose to his current position in cabinet. Questions have been raised as to why he has been pursuing this couple with such fervor. In his defence, the minister says he was working on orders “from above” – a response that leaves more questions than answers – who is above and what are his intentions?” When it became impossible to continue holding Timberlake, the minister was later forced to come out publicly and officially confirm that Timberlake was indeed a Kenyan.

The couple is now living in Australia where they sought asylum with their 2 year old son. Other ministers and senior government involved in Timberlake’s torture are yet to be exposed as are their insidious motives. To date, the lives of the Timberlake family remain at risk in Kenya due to their stand against the powers that be, and due to their political resolve.

Our source further revealed information about some highhanded government officers currently hiring goons to track Timberlake to far flung regions such as Fiji, Manus and Nauru in order to take him down. They’re determined to use food poisoning, sedative liquids or even use other Kenyans living in other countries to take him down. Earlier this year, the goons fulfilled the demands of their masters by brutally harming Timberlake in an attempt to murder him. A short while back, the Kenya Red Alliance in Sweden asked the government to release Mrs Timberlake and allow her to campaign freely for the next parliamentary representation.

Also the hired goon operating the Internet gangs have managed to hack their accounts and manipulated them for selfish achievements.

Our source who still works within the high ranks of the Kenya’s security intelligence plans to hand over the Timberlake’s report to the Oscar Foundation which had compiled the names and pictures of the extra-judicial killing victims and the dates and places where they were picked by the police. Some of the alleged police officers’ names are also contained in the report. CID officers seen here misusing their powers after they arrested Timberlake and his wife without warrants of arrest.

Colonel Mustafa & Marya Getting Back Together

After their mysterious break up some time last year, Ogopa’s Marya and Colonel Mustafa seem to be winking at each other again. It what seems like a rekindle of past love, the two have been flirting in public most recently.

Let me take you back just kidogo; when the two broke up rumour mills were abound with all sorts of what might have led to the split of the two. However, Mustafa came out to clear the air with the following statement:
“She’s a Christian and am a Muslim. Kuna mmoja alifaa abadili dini so Mustafa niitwe Emmanuel so ikakua kuna tatizo kidogo so that’s it.” Now yesterday Marya took to Twitter refuting the claims and adviced guys to follow Mustapha on Twitter for “the real deal”. “I didn’t break up with @colonel40 (Mustafa) because of religion. To get the real deal follow (Mustafa)” read the tweet.

Colonel Mustafa added his voice to the conversation and in what could show the two could get back together, he tweeted the following:
“Today Marya hit me up… So al be thinking of her… Hey hey hey baby… Labda tukijaliwa tutarudiana tena…”

Let’s wait and see how this will play out.

Rapcha and Mwafrika Move Raiyaa to NTV

If you are a fan of the TV show Raiyaa you must have noticed that the show has new faces as your favourite presenters Raptcha and Mwafrika have been missing in action for a week now. Well, the rib-tickling and educative show is now moving to NTV.

Asked on Twitter by his fans whether this is true, one of the hosts and creative director of Raiyaa, Raptcha tha Sayantist, confirmed it. The transition caught fans unawares with some taking to Twitter to express their anger and disappointment;

“RAIYAA on k24 thz guys hv nothing to tell us kafaa kina raptcha”
“kwani cku ixi c raptcha analeta raiyaa”
“#Raiyaa sasa hao ndo akina nani? We want raptcha and mwafreeka bAK.”
“Kwani raptcha ako? Hii raiyaa wako k24 hawaleti show”

Raptcha also revealed that the show will premiere on NTV on the 26th from 7.30PM. He also promised a bigger and better Raiyaa beacuse the show will be airing for half an hour as opposed to the 5 min. it used to get at K24.

Can’t wait for it…

Influxx Swagga Takes Shots at Kisima for Nominating Daddy Owen Instead of Him

Influxx Swagga has worked hard over the past year. Part of that hard work was put in so that he could get his shine at the Kisima Awards. When the nominees were announced, his name did not appear in any of the categories.

Now the rapper is mad at the organizers for not only refusing to give him a chance but for also telling him that it was not his time yet when he inquired about why his name was left out.

The rapper has now written a letter expressing his disappointment over the whole issue. Check out the full letter he hopes members of Kisima Awards committee will see below.

“Kenyan music awards have been very unfair to new artistes in the mainstream music industry. What the organizers don’t understand is that this is dangerous to the awarding industry because more record stables and artistes will come up with their own award system because the awards have failed to represent the Music Industry equitably hence crowd the market and in end lose its profitability.

I was the only Kenyan artiste who released a double album within their nominating bracket of 1st April 2011 – 1st April 2012. In addition, I was featured in a New York music magazine still within the period triggering big New York artistes like Kannal to request for a collaboration with me which is featured in my forth coming album.

I was the only Kenyan artiste as well who featured an album on iTunes and just to mention one of the Kenyan new artistes voted to fame by music fans though the Zuqka weekly charts.

Despite submitting my music early enough, KISIMA AWARDS did not nominate me for any category. They nominated the same artistes they have been nominating and even went ahead to nominate other artistes who did not submit their music like Daddy Owen.

When contacted to explain why I did not clinch any nomination, they issued a statement in a tweet that ‘my time will come’. I want to positively disagree with them. I think that my time is now, that is why I submitted my music to them and began to strategize a perfect voting network even before they released their nominees list.

I had even finished branding my fourth album “WAZITO” which I was scheduled to released during the KISIMA voting period because I was sure of at least a nomination in either the hip-hop artiste or the boomba artiste categories.

The truth is, if I had been nominated for the artiste of the year, I would have pocketed the two million shilling price comfortably if the voting process would not be manipulated.”

ESTHER ARUNGA TIMBERLAKE EXCLUSIVE: Kenyan Minister after Timberlake’s life (Part One)

And the saga goes on. This time, it gets worse than before. More State secrets revealed to the point of life threatening ordeals. Still, this iron lady stands tall unveiling more that we know not of, about our Government.

This is the latest from Esther Timberlake.

“Our confidential source confirms that due to his revelations of torture in the hands of the Kenyan government, controversial mystery-man Quincy Timberlake might be haunted for a long time to come. Revelations by a former chief adviser to Prime Minister Rt Hon Raila Odinga also alluded to the government-sponsored harassment that Timberlake endured.

“Killings by the police in Kenya are systematic, widespread and carefully planned. They are committed at will and with utter impunity,” U.N. Special Rapporteur Philip Alston said in a written statement on his preliminary findings after his visit to the country.

It is now official that Kenya’s Immigration minister Hon Otieno K’ajwang overstepped his mandatory powers by torturing an innocent Kenyan for his stand on democratic, freedom of worship, marriage and political matters. It is now alleged that Timberlake threatened to unearth the rot at the Immigration that he saw take place during his illegal confinement. It is from there that the minister unleashed his wrath on him and vowed to silence him. Several security intelligence personalities(National Security Intelligence Service) attached to the Immigration department who have requested that their identities be hidden confirmed that Timberlake’s torture had been well planned for months. Hon K’ajwang’ through his officers doctored a fake passport and ID card in Timberlake’s name. In conjunction with the CID officers affiliated to his political party, the minister went ahead to implicate Timberlake in migration wrongdoings.

The CID led by Director of Serious Crimes Unit Henry Ndombi forced Timberlake to confess that he’d leave Esther and break all communication with her. It is alleged that this happened at Karura forest where he was surrounded by police with guns held to his head. One by one they continued pouring more unwarranted charges which didn’t see light of the day as judges and magistrates got fed up and blocked them due to the charges inconsistencies. Several of them including immigration officers Mong’are, Njuguna and Opon paid Timberlake visits at the cell where he was illegally detained. They entertained themselves by commanding him to sing the Kenyan national anthem and cite the loyalty pledge on several occasions They worked together with Esther’s parents with the aim of ensuring that he was either deported from the country or locked up for life. They were so desperate that they went to the extent of concealing a white substance in to his suitcase. Their plan was to use the media to expose him as a drug smuggler and subsequently have him locked up for life for life – an allegation that the former director of the CID dismisses as atrocious.

The courts later discovered that the State concocted the documents in order to get Timberlake deported at all costs. The Immigration Department was forced to humbly chew their pie after all their plans were quashed by several diplomats who turned down their offer to stand in court and testify that Timberlake originated from their countries. These included diplomats from Nigeria, South Africa, Congo and the US. Reports further revealed that he was also compelled to confess in order to buy his freedom. The State used threats and compromised several editors in the mainstream media to ensure Timberlake’s life within Kenya was made unbearable. In Kenya, the media’s the most powerful entity. Media in Kenya has the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because of this, the powerful and wealthy use it to control the minds of the masses especially against the character they’d love to hate and victimize. If people in the media cannot decide whether they are in the business of reporting news or manufacturing propaganda, it is all the more important that the public understand that difference, and choose their news sources accordingly.Citizens were warned against employing, associating and socializing with him. Issues that would later attract more hate from the public, leaving him exposed to the risk of assassination. Members of ODM attached to the PM swore to make all attempts at ending his life from wherever they were across the globe. Timberlake, aware of the danger facing him and his family, embarked on a mission of moving his family to various undisclosed locations for their safety. They suffered hunger and disease-no one would do business with them, employ them or associate with them. Landlords, property owners and hotel managers were also warned not to accommodate them. By the grace of God, they managed to survive that torturous period.

“What shocked me is that even after the chief magistrate’s declaration that Timberlake had no charges before Kenyan courts, some CID finger print officers affiliated to ODM took it a notch higher by proceeding to manufacture groundless charges against him. The sad truth is that whether Timberlake has a case to answer in Kenyan courts or not, the police will not corporate with him to keep him and his family safe or to provide him with important documents such as Police Clearance Certificate of Character in order to complicate his life further,” our source confirmed. He further added that Timberlake is being denied this certificate in order to frustrate his political campaigns for the next general elections. Furthermore, they confirmed that by deliberately denying him the certificate, it was going to be difficult for him to access jobs in Kenya in order to feed his family. ” The aim is to create mental and physical pressure on Esther to get fed up and abandon her husband. It’s a miracle how Timberlake survived all these hard trials. Officers made unbelievable demands on him. In order to access the certificate he was to first abandon Esther as his wife, give up his political stand and pay Ksh 250,000.”

The situation remains dangerous for the couple as they do not know what the humiliated officers could do upon Timberlake’s return to Kenya. Possibilities of attempts on his life are discernible. Plans are already in place to attack him on his way from the airport and carry him to an unknown place. Mainstream media has already been compromised to report him missing days after his assassination. They say he has information that shouldn’t be leaked out about some government officials.”

Check Out Wawesh Remix Bamzigi’s Track

In June this year, Bamzigi released Light It Up, a product of his collaboration with top producer, Pro’voke. “We did the track on a Hip Hop Mizuka beat. We mixed electronic elements,” Bamzi told Ghafla!Kenya when he was preparing the release.

Bamzigi’s return saw the coming of a new music sound in Kenya. With Bachette, he introduced the Mzuka sound, ditching the Bounce, the last one he attempted just before his hiatus.

Now the track has a club remix in which he features Nessa. It was produced by the ever-fresh Wawesh Mjanja, whose treatment of Dela’s Weche Tek solidified his credentials as one of Kenya’s top beatmakers. Check out his latest remix below.

Finally, Here is Kenya’s Own Busy Signal

It is without a doubt that the Reggae/ Dancehall music is so much adored  by a big section of Kenyans thanks to the influence from Jamaica. However, the Kenyan showbiz does not have so many Reggae/Dancehall artistes despite the unrivalled love for the music.

Meet Nellex Madiba AKA Nellex Cuty, a budding dancehall musician who sounds like Busy Signal and even adorns the same hairstyle (cornrows) like the Jamaican dancehall sensation. The upcoming dancehall artist already has one song under his name and he is not stopping there as he has recorded over 16 audio songs and still going strong.

Dubbed “Ratish” (slang for muratina – a traditional Kikuyu brew) the song is so full of energy for you who love dancehall music. Here are some of the lyrics for the song “ah..where you get dah sweat muratina, ah where dat call karatina, me No Deal with Mama Pima (l say) granny, granpa love muratina …” The song is sampled from Mad Collabo Riddim by producer K.kroniq and video done by Santana.

Nellex says that he also enjoys drawing tatoos and of course pertaking of his favourite drink “ratish” during his free time. Check out the song below;

With Malonza on top of her ‘To Do’ list, Uganda’s Jannette comes to Kenya

It has been quite a while since we saw the little sweet Jannette on screen, sites… hell, she hasn’t been seen anywhere. She is one of those ex Big Brother Housemates who have managed to keep on the low. Avoid the media like S.T.Ds. She has done a pretty good job at that too.

All that is now about to change. Remember how cozy Jannette and Malonza were when they first stepped into the BBA house? I have a feeling that spark is about to be rekindled once Jannette steps foot in Kenya. Especially since Malonza is the only agenda that is bringing her here.

Jannette made it public that she will be coming to Kenya on the 18th of October 2012 (tomorrow) to visit Malonza. I miss her crazy acts under the influence of alcohol and I bet we are about to witness it all over again. Knowing Malonza, he won’t waste this chance. Not again!

Welcome to kenya Jannette. May you leave with unforgettable moments.

Guess who’s turning 28 today!

That’s right! Music is not all that we support. We also dive into the lives of those who caress our ears with their music and make moments worth going through. On their birthdays, this is our way of saying thanks to all that they’ve done for Kenya and it’s entertainment scene.

This is an ecstatic day for one Holy Dave who has just turned 28 (according to a sweet whispering bird). I have no idea what you will be doing on this huge day, but Dave, feel free to misbehave and act natural. We will lay off the paparazzi ish on you just for today… just for today! Enjoy it while it lasts.

Happy Birthday Holy Dave!
