Mutahi Ngunyi Next on the Hangman’s Noose After Caroline Mutoko

After killing off Caroline Mutoko, Kenyans online have now turned up the heat on political scientist Mutahi Ngunyi. Some Kenyan has set up a page called, “R.I.P. Mutahi Ngunyi” with its description reading, “he WAS the most tribalistic person in kenya…R.I.P”.

The admin of the page seems to be perturbed by the way the renowned political commentator has been basing his opinions along tribal lines. In his words; “I have closely followed your political commentaries and always got this impression that you were seeing politics through a national eye. I didn’t even imagine which ethinic [sic] group you belonged to. I must say that today 5th Feb 2013, I am very disappointed that you have resorted to ethinic [sic] considerations & mathematics. I have indeed given up on all political commentators! You were the last one I was hanging on. Am ashamed to be Kenyan!!”

This comes just hours after Mutahi released what he calls, “The Tyranny of Numbers” in which he highlights 7-point minimum scenarios for the 2013 elections (watch the clip below). Meanwhile, the Facebook Page seems to be growing by the minute as it now boasts of over 4000 Likes having been set up just 12 hours ago.

Was Ghafla’s Chim Obiajulu Caught F*nger*ng A Girl At Blankets? Robert Alai Has The Photos!

Yesterday i got a call from a very good friend; the beautiful Linda Naisalei. She told me to check my DM. I didn’t. Had no credit and the shops are too far.

I checked my DM today in the morning. She had sent a Direct Message to me informing me that a photo of me was circulating the internets in which i was f*nger*ng a lass. I am a vainglorious schmuck so i was excited to hear that the internets were rife with tales of my indiscretions. Here is the offensive photo;

chim_jpg.jpg

PS: Walalahoi is a twitter troll account run by Robert Alai.

I was however disappointed to find that the photo which Robert Alai purported depicted me getting cosy with a lass wasn’t me. It was just a pathetic attempt from Robert Alai to tarnish my already murky image. Infact, the photo doesn’t allow for anyone to identify the lucky lad.

On Sunday night, I actually went home alone after watching mighty Nigeria flex puny Ivory Coast. I went to an empty bed sadly. If indeed i was the lad in question, i would atleast have had company for the night.

And just so the internets know who i am next time, i have two tattoos on my neck, a tattoo on my wrist and 3 on my torso. My hair is wiry so i look like i have a neglected perm when it grows long.

Why this troll article you ask? Well, like i said, Chimwani Obiajulu is a vainglorious douchebag who couldn’t pass up the chance to force-feed Robert Alai his own bull*defecate*. Plus i enjoy a good laugh. But here’s the photo. You decide if i was the lad in question:

Kenya’s First Internet-based Opinion Poll for Elections Launched

Following the launch of the IEBC API that opened up Kenya’s Electoral data, Ajibu Limited, has launched an online-based opinion poll that will allow Kenyans to particpate in a public poll for all elective positions. Opinion Yetu aims to open up the expression of views on upcoming general elections to a majority of Kenyans.

Watch the Last 2 Uongozi Contestants Battle it Out

“We found a way to solve a problem that has dogged the Kenyan political scene for a long time. It’s no secret that opinion polls in Kenya have been subject to criticism from both the Wananchi and politicians,” said Stephen Odunga, CTO for Ajibu Consulting Limited.

Obama Directly Adresses Kenyans About Elections

An increasingly recurring element is the limited number of people involved in opinion polls, most of whom are almost invisible to the public eye. Users will be allowed to register using their national identification numbers along with their counties of representation and mobile phone numbers.

20 Hilarious Photos from Sonko’s Website

The information that has been to the IEBC API will determine the authenticity of a participant and lock out those who haven’t registered as voters. Ajibu says the  data from the poll will be used by news media, public affairs groups, institutions, political campaigns, companies and marketing agencies.

Interested participants are are encouraged to take part in the poll by visiting the main site.

Comparing Gloria Muliro’s “Follow You” And Chris Tomlin’s “I Will Follow”

Yesterday, I compared the similarities and differences between Hopekid’s song “Dream” and Popcaan’s song “Like a Dream.” Turned out people on Ghafla! thought that Hopekid jacked that song. But in the comment thread for that article, someone named Jacqueline Cheruiyot alerted us to similarities in another recent gospel song by Gloria Muliro named “Follow You.” Jacqueline suggested that Gloria Muliro stole the song from an American gospel artist named Chris Tomlin, so let’s compare the two:

First off is Gloria Muliro ‘s “Follow You”

{youtube}xeMfmRaAJCw{/youtube}

And then compare that song with Chris Tomlin’s “I Will Follow”

What do you guys think, Ghafla! peeps? Did Gloria Muliro outright steal from Chris Tomlin, or was she simply inspired by him? Have your say in the comment section below:

6th February 2013: Ten things you should know this morning

Ahoy beautiful people! How’s the week coming along? Here’s what you should know this morning;

#1 Looking at this photo you’ll concur that Citizen TV’s Janet Mbugua has undergone an “extreme makeover”.

#2 The flamboyant youthful politician Mike Sonko has acquired another ride with customized plates. Take a look.

#3 Kiss 100’s radio queen Caroline Mutoko finally speaks about the sensitive marriage subject that she’s been avoiding like the plague. Check out her sentiments.

#4  Wedding bells are about to chime for Prezzo and Goldie. The two’s wedding is set for 9th of February!

#5 The big booty girl from the ‘You Guy’ video gets herself a new toy… Mr. Dildo. Take a look at this photo.

#6 Bootylicious socialite Vera Sidika trashes claims that she’s dating Camp Mulla member, Shappaman.

#7 PULSE Magazine tries to start beef between Huddah Monroe and Vera Sidika just days after the former was involved in an epic tweef with Shee Waruinge.

#8 Once again as usual, controversial blogger Robert Alai takes to Twitter to attack a Kenyan legend. Find out what he says about him.

#9 After leaving Kiss 100 last week, Jalang’o lands himself another radio job at Standard Group.

#10 Famous socialite’s hubby compels her to delete her Twitter and Facebook accounts after argument on the social sites gets personal.

There you have it; more news to follow, keep it here.

Husband Tells Socialite To Delete Her Twitter And Facebook Accounts After Argument Gets Personal!

Remember the epic tweef between Kenya’s Kim Kardashian, Huddah Monroe and Shee Waruinge that we reported on late last week?

Well, the repurcussions of her tweef with with Huddah Monroe are far reaching. Shee who has appeared in the popular comedy/drama show “Mother-In-Law” on Citizen was told by her husband to take down her personal social media accounts.

It’s not really surprising given how personal the tweef became. So ladies and gentlemen, Shee Waruinge was officially ordered to commit Twitter seppuku and also Facebook and she pulled the plug on her accounts

But will it last? I doubt. Shee is an extrovert and i see her being driven back to Twitter by her need to express herself. Watch this space!

Robert Alai Takes To Twitter To Attack Kenyan Legend!

To be honest, i just can’t get enough of Robert Alai. Even when he has a point, he blunders during the delivery of the message that you can’t help but be put off!

Remember his Kileleshwa residents should be raped twitter rant? Yeah he had a message but his delivery was so disastrous that everyone was put off. Well, earlier today, he attacked Eric Wainaina and simply came off as a bully.

Why pick on someone who is more concerned about his? Someone who keeps to his own lane? Well, his attack on the peace minded Eric Wainaina even prompted Marcus Olang’ to jump top Eric’s defence. Way to look like a bully Alai.

And i know after this article one of his many twitter accounts will attack me but this was just uncalled for! Here’s what Alai said:

: Eric Wainaina must be hiding somewhere waiting for violence so he can make money “singing for peace.”

And Marcus Olang’s response was:

You’re pushing it”. -» : Eric Wainaina must be hiding somewhere waiting for violence so he can make money “singing for peace.”

PULSE Magazine tries To Start Beef Between Huddah Monroe And Vera Sidika!

On Friday past, Pulse EXCLUSIVELY ran a story about the buxom buttocked, voluptuously shaped Vera Sidika having beef with Kenya’s own Kim Kardashian, the beautiful, outspoken and lithe Huddah Monroe.

We as Ghafla opted not to touch the story. We figured that there was more than meets the eye here. We can exclusively report that after doing abit of digging, Uncle Chim Tuna has established that there was very little fact in what was reported.

When it happened, Huddah Monroe suspected Vera Sidika of disseminating the rumours. And as i said before, given Huddah’s position, it’s understandable that she regards everyone with suspicion. Imagine waking up to find a story about you in the papers that has no bearings on any information you have. Won’t you suspect the other party?

<Huddah Monroe>

For her part, Vera was shocked that Huddah chose to attack her. Understandable. Her yansh (bottom) would never be found in murky waters! Not Roxxie! And with that, a beef was nearly born!

Vera chose to instead clear the air and posted this on her Facebook page:

“I got no beef wt nobody. That’s not me at all…r they tryna create one? I don’t get.”

US President Barack Obama addresses Kenyans directly on the forthcoming general elections (video)

The general elections that will be taking place in March has most people, not just in Kenya but all over the world, filled with tension and worries.

No one would even think about having the same unfortunate turn of events this time round, that we had back in 2007. With the political and economical progress that we have so far achieved, a backward step is unacceptable.

When I say everyone is concerned about this beautiful country and its people on this coming general elections, I really do mean everyone.

US President Barack Obama has just issued a statement through a video uploaded on YouTube a couple of hours ago, in which he addresses the Kenyan people directly.

This you have to watch. Take a look.

Comparing HopeKid’s “Dream” and Popcaan’s “Dream”

I was checking out some songs from new gospel sensation Hopekid, and I stumbled across this video of his named “Like a Dream.” Admittedly, I was a bit behind on discovering this song, but the comments on YouTube caught my eye. Loads of people were accusing Hopekid of stealing the rhythm, title and tune of Popcaan’s “Dream.” Being that it was YouTube, which is known for having a rather vicious community, I decided to bring the debate over to Ghafla! where we have a bit more level-headed contributors in our comment section. Here are the two songs side by side for you to listen and compare:

First, Popcaan’s “Dream”

Rabbit does acoustic performance of ‘adisia’. This, you will love (video)

There is just something about hip hop being performed in acoustic that melts the heart and effortlessly grabs the attention and affection of a hip hop head, way better than it would on beats, snares and kicks.

That effects however, can only be effective if the lyrics are deep, or if not, just plain interesting. When it comes down to the lyrics, Rabbit has it all figured out. That is probably why this acoustic performance of his song, ‘adisia’ is a killer.

Rabbit got to, for the first time, give an acoustic live performance of his song ‘adisia’ on the Nairobi Sessions show.

The Nairobi Sessions is an on-line show initiated by award winning producer David “Blackman” Muthami, showing the riches and diversity of the Nairobi urban music scene.

The Nairobi Sessions hosts a selection of artistes in every show, and gives them the opportunity to give a live acoustic performance.

Check out Rabbit’s adisia in acoustic for the first time below, with Blackman on the acoustic guitar and Mumala on the vocals. You won’t be disappointed.

Caroline Mutoko Finally Opens Up About Marriage

After reading yesterday’s post about an advice to women who listen to Classic 105’s breakfast show, Kiss 100’s Caroline Mutoko has broken her silence about a subject she avoids talking about; marriage. She agrees with the sentiments expressed in the article and here are her reasons;

S’one sent me your post on married women and I simply have to agree. The reason I never comment on the issue is because I’m not married, so why go there? I don’t have the right to comment, but I think I know crazy when I hear it. But as a chick to say to other women “get a grip”, bad, bad idea.

Secondly, the last time I mentioned I didn’t think it helped or made sense to whine and bitch about one’s marriage publicly it in a social setting I was told “…you can talk now, just wait until you are married and miserable like all of us”.

Ooookkkeyyy….. so is the foregone conclusion that ladies are destined to be miserable once married. Why? How?

I know some amazing married couples & I know it’s about a partnership at the end of the day. I have never varied from my clear definition of what I want – a friend, a companion, a partner-in-crime. All that other drama is nuts. It takes two.

Then again if the idea is to get married expecting HIM to make everything wonderful, well I guess………………..

Jalang’o Lands At Standard Group’s Radio Maisha

Friday, Ghafla! exclusively informed you about Jalang’o leaving Kiss 100 to concentrate on his already established media company and taking his business to the next level. However, the funnyman interest in radio seems to be unwavering because this morning he was on air in another part of town.

This morning, Jalang’o made his debut on Standard Group’s Swahili radio station, Radio Maisha. Jalas, as he’s popularly known, received his appointment letter and will be on orientation for a week. In his Facebook post, Jalas revealed that he’s settling in his new job and thanked God for the new opportunity.

He will also be joining Walter Mong’are AKA Nyambane in the creative and content department.

Ghafla! wishes Jalang’o all the best in his new assignment.

K24 Boss To The Rescue of A Destitute Kid (video)

Barely a month after being appointed Mediamax’s Executive Director, Granton Samboja is already down to his philanthropic ways. Saturday, K24 aired the story of 14-year old Dennis Maina who suffers from bowel incontinence and was in dire need of medical attention. His mother was in no financial condition to raise the KSh.150,000 needed to transform Maina’s life.

However, after watching the touching story of the talented boy who repairs electronics in Kisiriri village in Narok North county, Mediamax Group Executive Director, Granton Samboja offered to foot the bill. The boy will now receive treatment at AIC Kijabe Mission Hospital with the boss promising to follow up on his education immediately he’s treated.

The Big Booty Girl In the “You Guy” Video Trashes Claims That She’s Dating Camp Mulla Member

With her fame rising every new day, bootylicious socialite Vera Sidika is bound to face so much hullabaloo about her lifestyle. Just yesterday a well-known blog had borne the allegations that the well-endowed backside model has a fling with Camp Mulla’s Shappaman.

The site published a photo (check it out below) of the two during the just concluded Blankets & Wine at the Carnivore and asserted that the two were “having a good time together” insinuating that Vera and Shappaman are in fact an item.

However, Vera has since come to rubbish the claim terming it “A BIG JOKE”. In her words, the seemingly unamused Vera said, “OMG…Shappaman Is like my kid brother. What is this? A BIG JOKE!@!”, responding to the blog’s article.

Didge is Back on 125 & Sage’s Hot New Track

Didge is one of the best soul artistes we have in the country. And when he collaborates with some of the most promising hip hop groups around, expect something special.

As if those ingredients were not potent enough, add one of the most consistently solid producers, Dillie, and you get one of the best tracks out so far this year. Dillie has worked on tracks for some of the biggest hip hop acts in the country including Juliani, Octopizzo and Muthoni.

Rap group, 125 have collaborated with gifted singers Didge and Sage on Can’t Take It and the result is an almost old school-sounding track that should definitely blaze up the charts, that’s if Camp Mulla created a market for all-English hip hop in Kenya. You might remember 125 from this hot cypher.

Check out Can’t Take It below.

Want To Get Into BBA 8? Here’s A Sure Way How!

Have you ever dreamed of being in the BBA house as a housemate publicly taking a dump and showering? Having your s3x-life put on display for million asthough you’re an animal being viewed on the Discovery chanel?

Then this is an announcement for you! Uncle Chim Tuna together with the rest of the mad team at Ghafla have decided to give you a cheat sheet on how to bamboozle your way into the house.

#1. Don’t be shy!

1st, you mustn’t be shy. When asked to strip by the panel of judges, do so. That’s if they ask. If they don’t ask, then there’s no better way to leave a lasting impression than by voluntarily taking your clothes off! It might land you in the looney bin but isn’t it worth the risk? If they ask you to stop, hold them hostage with a little striptease. Tell them that they must send you to Madiba’s land if they don’t want to see you in your natural state!

#2. Entertain!

Sing them the song of your people! Sing with all your heart. And if all you can do is croak like a randy toad, the better! Hold the panel hostage and tell them that unless they send you to the lad down under and into the BBA House, you will keep singing!

#3. Tell them you’re an exhibitionist!
Let the panel know that being viewed on international (actually continental) television copulating is a life long dream of yours! If they allow you to do so they will not be disappointed. If this doesn’t work, threaten to give them a demonstration all on your own unless you get shortlisted!

#4. Be nice.

Be unbelievably nice. Kill them with your niceness. Be the good guy/ naive girl. Everyone likes to see people fall off their perch high above the rest of mankind. It’s called schadenfreude. The panelists won’t be able to rest it. It’s a human condition. They will be eager to see you knocked off your lofty perch!

#5. Do all of the above!
Nothing will confuse and possibly scare them quite like doing all the above mentioned thing. Be nice while standing n4ked: offer them lollipops while standing n4ked as you sing them the ear-splitting song of your people! Dance for them while nvde as you inform them that you’re a passionate exhibitionist! It will certainly work… Or it will land you in jail or in Mathare Hospital but who cares?

But my advice is useless unless you register. And you only have 10 days left to do so!

Photo Gallery: Eric Wainaina at the Alliance Française(Kesho Imefika Concert)

Arguably one of the best and definitely the most famous Kenyan artiste worldwide, Eric Wainaina is one musician you need to see perform live to experience the best of neo soul music.

He performed at the Kesho Imefika Concert which was held at the Alliance Française last week (28th January).

This is how the epic event went down as seen by Quaint Photography.

Wedding Bells: Prezzo And Goldie Wedding Set For 9th Of February!

Last year on the 12 of November, reports about Prezzo being in Lagos to meet Goldie’s parents for a traditional ceremony in which he officially asked for Goldie’s hand in marriage rent the internets. Actually, i caught wind of the story from Big Brother Africa’s site.

The ceremony i spoke of is known as “Ibankwu” by my Igbo people and I believe Kikuyus call it “Rurocio” or something close to that. According to Big Brother Africa’s website, the wedding was set for the 9th of this month. Here’s how they carried the article written by Joe:

“It is no longer news that Nigerian music queen Goldie and Kenya music president, Prezzo are an item. Goldie has always had a thing for men outside her home country Nigeria and even since when they were in the BBA house; they had been having a good relationship.

Though things went out of hands at the end of the show, their loves story continued after the show. Like a knight in shining armour, Prezzo headed for Nigeria to ask for his lovers hand in marriage. We can confirm that the two are set to marry. Last week in a formal ceremony at Goldie’s parents’ residence in Lagos, Nigeria, Prezzo asked for Goldie’s hand in marriage.

The wedding ceremony will hold in February 9th in Lagos. Prezzo promises to take the whole of Kenya down to Nigeria for the ceremony.”

But as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating ergo we shall know just how accurate these reports were come Saturday… But with that said, i wish them all the best and so do the rest of Team Ghafla!

Watch Internationally Acclaimed Film on Post-election Violence Here

Kenya: Until Hope Is Found is a documentary about the post-election violence that is using a unique distribution model.

The documentary, also available on YouTube, follows severely traumatized men and women in Kibera, Kenya’s largest slum and the epicenter of the post-election violence, as they go through a workshop together called Healing & Rebuilding Our Communities.

The workshop is hosted by the Alternatives to Violence Project Kenya, a Quaker initiative of the Friends Peace Teams. Mureithi’s work spreads a message of reconciliation to Kenyans and is a timely contribution towards what the Council on Foreign Relations has warned could be another violent presidential election on March 4th.

Prior to Kenya: Until Hope is Found, Mureithi produced ICYIZERE:hope, a documentary about a reconciliation workshop in Rwanda that brings together 10 survivors and 10 perpetrators of the 1994 genocide, with encouraging results.

Kibaki and Moi Make It Rain (video)

Mid last month President Kibaki signed into law the Bill awarding himself and his predecessor, Daniel Moi, a handsome retirement package. The gratuity hands the president and former president Sh12.6 million for every term served. This basically makes Baba Jimmy the latest baller in town.

And your favourite political satire show, XYZ, did not delay in sensationalizing that. Making a remix of Lil Wayne and Fat Joe’s “Make it Rain”, the XYZ creatives quickly pieced up a sidesplitting clip of Baks and Mo1 flossing their newly acquired fortune.

With a super car and cash vault in the background, the two spit flounce their cash and diss their haters. Click HERE to watch the funny clip.

Flamboyant Mike Sonko Acquires Another Ride With Customized Plates (Photos)

The youthful immediate former Makadara legislator, Gideon Mbuvi AKA Mike Sonko is widely known for his obsession with flashy stuff. From golden rings to classy chains and posh cars, is what defines Mike Sonko’s style.

They say when you have it flaunt it and Sonko seems to follow that to the latter. Yesterday he added two “smart” cars to his ever expanding fleet of flamboyant cars. The cars, perceived to be environmentally friendly, will be part of Sonko’s campaign machinery. And just to popularize himself, one of the cars has personalized plates labeled, Senator 1, signs that he’s confident of clinching the Nairobi senatorial seat.

Take a look at the cars below doing rounds around Nairobi for campaigns.

Maina and King’ang’i In The Morning: Can A Kenyan Man Help A Woman Without Having Ulterior Motives?

So today in the morning, Maina and King’ang’i seek to find out whether or not it is a good idea for a person to seek help from their ex. Actually, the question was: “Is it possible for a Kenyan man or woman to seek help from their ex without ulterior motives coming into play?”

And i was reminded of a relationship i was in back in 2011 that fell apart because i sought for help from my ex. My then ex was irate that i had my ex over at my apartment to help me when i was sick. I don’t see anything wrong with that nor do i see anything wrong with asking your ex for help whether monetary or otherwise.

<This is what my girlfriend must have felt about me>

<But in my defence…>

Yesterday some lady called in to say that her ex was the one helping educate her daughter and although they kissed after not meeting for over 20yrs, that was as far as it went. I don’t cosign this because to me, kissing is cheating.
The 1st caller said that because we are human beings, it is only natural that we expect something in return. He would only help out his ex if he knew he could expect something in return.
The next caller spoke in reference to the lady who is having her ex educate her daughter as “kuku na mayai inatumbukizwa”. Apparently, “mayai inakulwa asubuhi na kuku ni ya jioni”!
The men who called seemed to only help out when they knew they could expect sexual favours in return… I think i know where my ex was coming from!
The 1st lady caller called in to say that a man cannot assist you without expecting something in return. He will eventually demand something in return and it is often sexual in nature.

The next caller called in to say that for the past 6years, she has been helped out by some lad who even flew her to Mombasa for a holiday. That was when everyone in the office called bull*defecate*. THIS IS THE QUINTESSENTIAL KENYAN WOMAN IN A RELATIONSHIP: A PARASITE! How do you keep stringing a man along like this then say that he is just a brother to you? He flew you to Mombasa for heaven’s sake! And you claim he got nothing for his troubles inspite of you sharing a room with him? I smell bull*defecate*!

From this point all the rest of the women called in to gloat about how they know men who are taking care of them and they give nothing in return… From men who take care of women and their children to those who buy women little luxuries like clothes and silly trinkets. They called in to gloat. Even Chege Miati who is usually rather zen and mellow said that no woman ever wastes his money expecting nothing back!

What do you think?
