Main Switch Represents Kenya At Chris Brown Concert (Video)

American music star Chris Brown was in Ghana in March ahead of his concert in the West African country. The tour was marred by controversy as the singer lit up a joint on stage during the concert held for the launch of a Technology City Project called Hope City, something that had the authorities up in arms.

However, Chris Brown denied the allegations claiming that the weed was fake and that Ghanaian media blew things out of proportion. Aside from all the marijuana drama, here’s some positive news; we know very few Kenyans attended the concert. If you missed it, don’t worry because Main Switch group was there and caught the action on tape.

For those who don’t know, Main Switch is the recording stable that produced Jaguar’s latest single, “Kipepeo”. Here are the videos from that concert;

Big Brother The Chase Update: Housemates Locking Lips Already! (Photos)

This year’s Big Brother has started with so much energy from the housemates. Yesterday, we saw our very own Huddah Monroe ask for a morning massage from Uganda’s Denzel who readily offered. Well, it appears that opened the floodgates for ‘action’.

Last evening, the first kiss of The Chase was recorded as Ghana’s Selly and Angola’s Biguesas both from the Rubies House wet kissed as other contestants looked on. It all started as a casual game of spin the bottle in the garden which resulted in Selly reaching over to Biguesas for a passionate kiss much to the amusement and applause of her fellow housemates.

South Africa’s Koketso could not match up to Selly’s antics when it was her turn to kiss Zambia’s Sulu. Koketso simply hugged the dreadlocked Zambian and gave him a perk on the cheek.

Sally kisses Biguesas

Meanwhile in the Diamonds House, Sierra Leone’s Bolt and Ethiopia’s Betty also had their intimate moment as they kissed passionately in the dark as fellow housemates slept soundly. The two Diamonds Housemates couldn’t keep their hands off each other early this morning and shared a passionate fumble in the dark.

When things got a little too heated, Bolt jumped out of bed and rummaged through bags, pockets and boxes, clearly searching for something. Whatever it is that Bolt was trying to find proved elusive. The Sierra Leonean then gave up and headed to the kitchen to get a glass of water. Thirsty Betty seemed to appreciate this kind gesture and repaid Bolt in kind.

News: Bolt and Betty Kiss!

Bolt kissing Betty

After giving him the smooch of the century, she slipped her hand under Bolt’s shirt and the two lay in each other’s arms, with no care in the world.

It’s Big Brother The Chase and clearly, The Chase is on.

The recent happenings in the country took everyone by surprise and utter shock from; the wave of insecurity in the Western part of the country to the first ever reported case of bestiality p0rn0graphy. It’s sad.

We stand tall & claim to be Kenyan. We tweet & hashtag other countries yet, we watch our brothers & sister suffer. Its NOT the government to blame, it’s NOT the NGO’s to blame & Its sure not Obama’s for NOT making stop in KENYA. Its US. It saddens when we blog, talk, and point fingers at the would be culprits of injustice. Busia, Mombasa, Garissa & many more have witnessed massacres!

Elephants & Rhinos getting killed like they aint nothing.. Where is our pride? When did we stop being proud of our heritage? How are we gonna stand out and be the face of Africa?
During the campaign period, we had lots of tours championing for peace b4 & after elections, how effective were they? It’s SAD!

Today I Challenge you, show love by having a Kenyan flag on your profile..share it with a peace message.

Huddah Nominated For Eviction On Day One Of Big Brother

Kenya’s Huddah, Uganda’s Denzel and Ghana’s Elikem received the highest number of nominations in Diamond House. Huddah led the pack with seven Nominations followed closely by Denzel with six and Elikem with four.

The Housemates charged Huddah for being shallow-minded, self-centred and inconsiderate while it seems Denzel has no respect for women, tries too hard and not much of a team player. Elikem on the other hand was shot for being too bossy as well as being a strong competitor in the game.

Meanwhile, Bolt (Sierra Leone), Fatima (Malawi), Annabel (Kenya), Betty (Ethiopia) and Neyll (Angola) got two Nominations each while Nambia’s Dellish escaped with just one Nomination.

The lucky lot who dodged the Nominations dagger in the Diamond House were Botswana’s Motamma, Tanzania’s Feza and Nando, South Africa’s Angelo and Ethiopia’s Bimp.

This is How Each Diamond nominated:

Motamma: Elikem and Huddah
Neyll: Denzel and Huddah
Denzel: Bolt and Dellish
Annabel: Fatima and Elikem
Fatima: Huddah and Annabel
Betty: Annabel and Denzel
Elikem: Huddah and Betty
Feza: Betty and Denzel
Nando: Denzel and Huddah
Dellish: Bolt and Huddah
Bolt: Denzel and Neyll
Angelo: Denzel and Neyll
Bimp: Elikem and Huddah

Whatever it is that the lucky five washed in before entering the Big Brother House has worked for them thus far. It remains to be seen if their luck will last any longer.

Sarakasi Trust Pushes SawaSawa Festival From June To December!

There’s a festival that Sarakasi Trust has run since 2002. The festival is called Sawasawa festival!

The objective of the event is to develop audiences, bring profile and exposure to Kenyan artists. It also helps to build capacity, in the area of cultural entrepreneurship and festival production. Well this year’s Sawasawa festival, has been pushed from June to December. However since Kenya is celebrating its Jubilee (50 Years of independence), the organizers have moved the Festival to December. From inception, the festival takes place around the Madaraka weekend in June.

Sarakasi Trust, aims to create a unique festival with an African identity, appealing to the Kenyan public at large. Sawa Sawa festival seeks to promote and stage the performing arts, through platforms like workshops, exchanges between local and international artistes, technical skill and cultural sharing workshops. Others include  community building (theme) activities, jam sessions/studio recordings, media activations and the multi stage multi day concerts. Past Sawa Sawa Festival attracts audiences of over 100,000 people. They apologize for any inconvenience. Now you know.

Dear Lord! That’s what I yell everytime I watch In The Forest.

So this time, Gerald decided to bring singer/presenter/actress Sheila Kwamboka, better known by her moniker Kwambox. Sheila was cool, calm and collected as Gerald asked question after question, that would make any person cringe! Sheila, yawa, slap him! Now the questions ranged from Sheila’s purported stripping to get into Big Brother, to her tips on giving good head. I kid you not! By the way guys, keep the cat!

Cabu Gah Speaks Out About Huddah Monroe!

Cabu Gah has broken his silence and like Poseidon, he is ready to rouse rabble! If you don’t understand what I mean, I suggest you google Poseidon! but away from that and back to Cabu Gah, he has decided to tell Kenya what he thinks about Kenya’s BBA 8 representative Huddah Monroe.

Here’s what he had to say:

“I credit Shee Walcott Waruinge for bringing Huddah Munroe to my attention…I was told she was a twitter bigwig and was quite a big deal in that world…I am not exactly a sworn twitter afficionado,so I wouldnt have known her that much.

I also got to learn that she’s the ‘Queen of Tweef’ ,the twitter equivalent of beef. And I was told that NO ONE messes with Huddah Munroe because she can shred up your sorry ass with the mercy of Adolf Hitler! Uh,Uh…And the likes of Vera Sidika (Who is this? Uncle Chim Tuna does not know her!), the booty bomb, are a testimony to the verocity of Huddah’s tenacious tweets!

But WHO EXACTLY IS HUDDAH MONROE? First and foremost, her two names are sooo foreign-sounding that I was shocked she was even a typical Kenyan. Also,I got to browse thru her ample cache of photos and,OH MY GOD,this b*tch is F*CKING BEAUTIFUL! And Hey! She’s such a photo lover that she practically takes photos ANYWHERE,ANYTIME!

She could be involved in a grisly road crash AND STILL pose for a few sexy photos! Yup,next to her mangled car! She could be in church,in the queue, going for sacrament and still steal some minutes to pose for a couple seedy photos WITH the sacrament! And her gorgeous arms thrown around the beffudled Priest! Yes,she literary WORSHIPS photos!

Huddah Monroe IS a SOCIALITE. A socialite is a high-powered person, especially female, who spends ALL of her life showing up for VIP events, hobnobbing with the powerful, dating celebrities, carrying around pet dogs, posing for semi-nvde photos,gate-crashing red carpets and drinking herself silly!

Socialites are super gorgeous, insanely beautiful, rather rich, spoilt, kinda blonde,party-loving and they adore attention!

AND THATS THE BEST DESCRIPTION FOR SEXY HUDDAH.

Huddah has more nvde photos than the total bill for Ruto’s Hustler Jet…she has been rumoured to be dating the King of Bling,Prezzo and also the King of Bullsh*t,Ian Mugoya.

She is rumoured to be filthy rich, though Shee Waruinge, another budding socialite, told me a WHOLE DIFFERENT story!

Anyway,I heard that Big Brother PICKED Huddah Monroe as Kenya’s Representative to the House! WOW! What a perfect fit! SHE’s EXACTLY WHAT WE NEEDED. Exactly.

Big Brother is all about alchoholism, nudity, spontaneous sex and endless cursing AND Huddah is the PERFECT epitome of EVERYTHING Big Brother promotes!

Huddah drinks like a Kiambu mechanic, swears like Snoop Dogg’s daughter, goes nvde anytime, anywhere and is rumoured to be a confessed sex practitioner!

Yeeeeeeeeah! THATS MY GIRL! Thats My Bitch!

Huddah,WE ARE WITH YOU ALL THE WAY! Do Your thing, teach ’em a few tricks, spice thngs up,get super crazy, sex up tha whole flipping house! Yeah, drink yourself stupid if you want! Teach those cats a couple crazy 254 bitch rules!
And,above all,BRING BACK THE DOLLARS HOME! Win that shit! Cuz,Baby,You were born a WINNER!

Go,Go Huddah! We got Yo nvde back!

Kenya,

Lets put the hate aside and support a sister. Yes,lets vote, vote, vote!

I HAVE 100% faith in Huddah. And so should You.

#team254,FOREVER”

Not sure whether sarcastic or sincere! but I love him for standing up for Lynda Nyangweso!

The Real Reason Why StarTimes is Not Showing Free-To-Air Local Channels

Last September, the Ministry of Information and the Communication Commission of Kenya defended the pay-tv service providers for not offering the free-to-air content for free. The two digital pay-tv providers, StarTimes and GOtv have been criticised by consumers for including the local broadcast channels, supposed to be free, in the paid-for packages.

However, there is more than what meets the eye because ideally, all consumers with set-top-boxes should be able to watch free-to-air channels even when their subscription has expired but this has not been the case.

Commenting about the situation, Dennis Itumbi revealed the truth about the situation. Here’s what he said;

Yes StarTimes is not showing free to air local channels and not only them even on Signet (KBC) the channels are withdrawn – Now listen carefully to this background, there is a global deadline to switch from analogue to digital TV by 2015, Kenya wants to be on digital platform by end of year, a deadline that is being pushed for the third time now. Towards that end it was advertised and KBC created Signet and won the first Digital signal through their subsidiary Signet, then Pan African TV through their subsidiary Star Times won the second signal, according to regulator CCK the two were sufficient to supply the digital needs but Media owners using their muscle wanted a third one without competition allocated to them, that has not happened their reaction withdraw their stations from the bouquet supplied by SIGNET and STAR times – only K24 and KBC have remained, the move has affected all free to air decoders including Microvile, Gospel, Rockdale etc. are lacking the 3 channels too. StarTimes thru CCK has reported this to the government because it looks like sabotage by the said MOA for digital migration scheduled to take place in September this year – so good people on Star Times and Signet there you have it, THE FACTS.

Huddah Monroe Viciously Attacked!

Ladies and gentlemen, all I can say is, “Shaking My Damn Head!”. Huddah has been viciously attacked by her very own country men akin to the manner in which Kenyans On Twitter attacked Prezzo when he was 1st in the house!

But in their usual fashion expect to see a change when it begins to look asthough Huddah may be close to bringing the money back to +254 they will quickly decamp and become her #1 fans! but away from the typical behaviour of KOT and on to what they have been saying on their internets:

@theladygee: #Huddah & this amish Ethiopian make u want to throw ur folks a party for making sure u stayed in school #smh. Its painful. …

@TheRealWambo Are you even serious?!How can you compare Prezzo and #huddah .She’s borderline illiterate!

@Kayumbet: #IfHuddahIsAt21Then ya’ll didnt understand! #Huddah‘s P is the one tht is 21yrs into business!

@JbMwamjeni: #Huddah Monroe is 21 Because She Uses The Chinese Calendar Where A Year Has 32Months… o/”

@GigiScheise: Oh.my.god.I praaaay #huddah gets nominated this week. #bbathechase .Her basic intellect shows thru her mindless chatter.

#IfHuddahIsAt21Then then Methusellah was 40 when she died

#IfHuddahIsAt21Then Olekyapi’s dental formula has no teeth missing

#IfHuddahIsAt21Then then Nelson Mandela is on puberty.

@DedanManyara: #ifhuddahisat21then Drake is still at the bottom

Some are downright funny, others just lame.

Did American Singer/songwriter The-Dream ‘Copy’ Jemedari’s Mixtape Cover For His Fifth Album?

I’m sure you guys didn’t know that this is The-Dream’s real name, Terius Youngdell Nash. He was born in January 25, 1977. His Wikipedia describes his achievements quite explicitly, so that is my approved source.

The-Dream, is an American singer-songwriter and record producer. He is known for co-writing chart topping hits such as “Baby” for Justin Bieber, “Umbrella” for Rihanna, “Me Against the Music” for Britney Spears and “Single Ladies” for Beyoncé. In addition to working with Nivea and Rihanna, The-Dream has also penned songs like J. Holiday’s “Bed”, Usher’s “Moving Mountains”, Yung Joc’s “Coffee Shop” and Jesse McCartney’s “Leavin'”. He also co-wrote Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body”, Ciara’s “High Price”, and co-wrote a majority of Mary J. Blige’s 2007 Growing Pains album. He featured in Drake’s album Thank Me Later in the song “Shut It Down”. He is signed to Def Jam records. Other artistes of repute he has worked with include Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Brandy, P-diddy, Ciara, Shakira, Jessica Simpson and Jennifer Lopez. He by the way has has two ex wives who are both singers, Nivea and Christina Millian.

http://thatgrapejuice.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/06/the-dream1.jpg

Now that I have painted a picture, lemmi get to the controversy. Remember Jemedari? He is the artist who wrote a letter to the president in form of a song. Read about barua kwa rais here. He is also one of the brains behind Suits and mics, read about that here. Now Jemedari released a mixtape last year, and the cover art is quite something! Thaa, that is what has ‘been lifted’. Given, you can’t copyright an idea, only its expression, and plagiarism is a ‘heavy’ accusation to throw around. See the picture below and judge for yourselves, and incase you think he’s making it up, the dates are shown clearly. Jemedari was previously an online reputation manager for Martha Karua, but currently in Media Max which owns K24.

The Dream’s album drops tomorrow 28th May. It will feature among others music’s royalty Beyonce and Jay Z, Kelly Rowland, Big Sean as well as Fabulous!

Busting Huddah! Who Did Huddah Lie To About Her Age?

How old is Huddah? That is today’s million dollar question! And why do women love lying about their ages? On BBa, Huddah’s profile claims her age to be 21. That would mean she was born in 1992 aye? can I get a shout out from all the children of the 2000s? She is you agemate!

But is she really 21? She herself has cast doubts on that in an interview she gave to Drum Magazine. in that recent issue of Drum, Huddah said she is 23 years old. That would put her year of birth at 1990. Not a big lie but why would you go on record contradicting yourself? I smell jaguda tings!

Anyway, let’s just chill out and let her entertain us on BBA 8!

Willy Paul Goes To Ngara To Look For Prostitutes

Last night Gospel singer Willy Paul and his two friends, Peter Mulei and David spent time with some prostitutes in Ngara, Nairobi. Their mission was to preach the Gospel to the red light district girls, something that has not been done before.

This is part of the campaign that Willy Paul has set up to reach out to the call girls. The campaign, ‘Xtreem Reach Out’ is a community based project which reaches out to prostitutes and schools/colleges as well as the destitute with the aim of educating the community on sound moral and values in the hope of bringing sanity to youth and this generation.

Last night, the ‘Mpenzi’ singer managed to convince a good number of the girls to cross over and change their ways of life. According to Willy Paul, 80% agreed to change and even gave out their contacts and promised to go to church every Sunday and give their lives to Christ. However 20% of them threw harsh words at them.

Willy Paul & Peter Mulei

The campaign is open to all, so feel free to join.

Collo Goes Lingala!

Self-proclaimed king wa rap Collo has just unleashed his latest single, ‘Kudyambo’ and you won’t believe; it’s lingala! This comes as a surprise to his fans who am sure never saw that coming. But that’s what makes a good musician.

This just goes to show how matured an artist Collo is in the industry because honestly it takes courage for an artist to deviate from their signature genre to try out something totally new and nail it! Take a look;

{youtube}QlBCFTYvzt4{/youtube}

The official video is expected to drop in July, for now Collo is calling out for all the DANCERS in Kenya to come up with the best routine/ choreographed dance for “Kudyambo” and upload their clip(s) onto YouTube. HERE‘s more information about that.

You can download the song on www.mdundo.com for free.

Collo To ‘Create Jobs’ For Dancers, Find Out How And Apply!

Collo is releasing a new song! After Floss na wewe, I’m curious to know what the song is about.

That however is not the raison d’etre for this article. Collo, has today announced that he will be running an online dancing competition in Kenya. The 3 top dancing groups will be featured in his new music video. Start today, 27th  May, the competition will be on. He released his new single “Kudyambo” a while back. You know the drill, to download the song go to Mdundo.com. Read about Floss na wewe here.

Collo explains: “Over the past years I have seen a significant increase in the quality of many Kenyan dancing groups. I think it is only fair to give them a chance to feature in a music video. The industry is often very unfair and success is related to the performers current network in the industry. This initiative is an opportunity for any Kenyan to show their skills, get a fair judgments and a chance to get the attention it deserves. The competition will take place on YouTube, and the dancing groups participating should upload their video to the channel before 26th  June for submission. The Collo team will announce the winners 1st July.”

He elucidated: “My team and I will focus on the quality of the choreography, and we will decide which routine for Kudyambo we like the most. We will be looking at the number of views the video has as well. It is important that the group makes it clear in the video who they are and how we can reach them”.

Get the song on mdundo.com.
Submit the video to YouTube before 26th  June

FREE Music Downloads Now Available. Legally.

Include the name of your dancing group in the video.
Winner will be announced 1st July.
Official video will be shoot 14th  July.

How Well Do You Know Your Big Brother Africa Kenya Representatives? Read Their Profiles Here!

how well do you know this BBA season’s Team Kenya captains? Not too well I suppose because for Huddah, I’m sure all you know are her nvde pics and epic Twitter fights right? Well, fret not, Uncle Chim Tuna has got you covered! Here is a brief profile on the two beautiful ladies; Huddah Monroe and Annabel Mbaru:

Huddah Monroe

Age: 21 (?)

Born Alhuddah Njoroge, Huddah Monroe grew up in a rough environment in the heart of Eastlands. Some whisper that this might have been in Huruma Estate but i have never gotten any confirmation of the same from Huddah herself.

Her favourite foods are: anything Chinese and Ugali, and fish.

Her reason for entering BBA is because she believes it’s a once in a lifetime experience and she felt she really needed to be part of it. “Plus it has brought a lot of opportunities in life for a lot of people,”

She gets her moniker from her idol Marilyn Monroe whom she looks up to because, “she was intelligent, a go-getter, a sexy woman with a charming smile and also very popular”.

Her strengths will include her feminine wiles and femme fatale savior faire, the fact that she relishes in controversy and she knows how to take a punch having been in many a verbal confrontation on social media.

Her weaknesses are the fact that she has a lone wolf approach to everything, her pride and the fact that she is very confrontational.

And Huddah is already on her seductive tip. Check it out here.

Annabel Mbaru

Age: 24

She is a student and a fashion designer with a penchant for philosophical literature.

She sites her favourite foods as being NIGERIAN, Ethiopian, Oriental and Italian. The lass also is open about the fact that she loves being the centre of attention so what better place for her to be at than in the BBA Mansion?

Ghafla Exclusive: Kenyan Celebrity In A Lesbian Relationship?

Ladies and gentlemen, I have nothing against lesbians. The hot ones. I personally don’t care whether they are lipstick lesbians or true blue dykes. I like them. Then again, it could be that I am just enamoured by the thought of two hot ladies engaging in some lip action and more that I cannot talk about.

That being said, lad, set down that tub of Vaseline! uncle Chim Tuna isn’t Hugh Hefner….. Yet!

But that being said, i am about to drop a gem on you! So be quick to tell Kenya Post and the rest of those so called entertainment news sites that they should be waiting anxiously for Uncle Chim Tuna a.k.a Mheshimiwa Msema Kweli as I have affectionately dubbed, to drop a gem.

Keep it Ghafla! as Chege Miati would say it, “Ni kama ndrama, ni kama vindeo! Risasi na twangala twangala!”

Fast Off! Huddah Asks For A Morning Massage!

Big Brother The Chase just got underway but already we’ve started seeing tell tale signs of what is in store for us. Fast off, this morning, Denzel from Uganda is already performing morning massages to our very Huddah Monroe.

As the rest of the crew decided to stay with the clowned fellas doing their fire task, the two-some went to the bedroom after Huddah asked the Ugandan lad for a ride. Just as expected, any hesitation or ‘No’ would put the latter down so neither did he even think twice about the request which seemed an offer to him!

Have you ever thought of a free massage expert? Hope not but in this case, think of Denzel. The guy seemed interested in what he was doing despite the fact that no reward was awaiting! It was really a long drive paired up with some questionable sexy screaming from Huddah which made the dude get more guts of doing the “ting”.

Huddah_denzel.jpg

Huddah & Denzel

As the service went on, the Rubies cute lass was heard asking for permission from Denzel to fart, who again with no hesitation permitted her to go ahead! Was this an obsession with the service or something else?…

Could this be the beginning of some ‘showmances’ in The Chase,or it will be something bigger than that between the duo?

Prezzo On How To Survive in Big Brother

He has been there, he’s done it; so when Prezzo speaks about Big Brother you’ve got to pay attention. Well, the Big Brother The Chase just got underway less than 24 hours ago and Prezzo has some wise counsel for the housemates.

Big Brother recently caught up with him just before the reality show kicked off and offered some tidbits on how to make it in the Big Brother house. Here’s an excerpt of that interview;

Big Brother: Welcome Prezzo. How has your life changed after Big Brother Africa?

Prezzo: My life has changed drastically because ‘Prezzo’ the brand became a house hold name not only in east Africa but worldwide.

What do you think is the biggest misconception that people have about you?

The fact that people think I disrespect women, I don’t. I love and respect women because I was raised by one. My misunderstanding with the female Housemates was due to the fact that apart from Goldie, they were like my sisters and therefor I felt the urge to address the issues as they came. As for fights between me Goldie, it’s only normal that people in a relationship argue from time to time.

What did you do to prepare yourself mentally and emotionally for your time inside the Big Brother House?

I had my eyes on the prize way before I got in to the house. Because of the isolation from the outside world, I looked at it as if I was going to serve time for 90 days in an upgraded, glamorous kind of prison.

What are your tips for dealing with the isolation from the outside world and surviving in the House?

You have to put all of that behind you and focus on what you want achieve. If you spend too much of your time thinking about loved ones back home that will kill your game and you won’t perform to the best of your ability because your mind is not focused, that can lead to you cracking under pressure.

What items would you recommend packing for the House?

Get some good outfits packed because BBA is a reality show so you have to look good all of the time.

When you are inside the House, is it important to build alliances or should you much rather keep to yourself?

It’s important to find a balance but ultimately alliances are important because they help to showcase your ability to play with the other Housemates’ minds and the viewers will get to see how smart you are. If you keep to yourself it can make you come across as boring and that will not work to your advantage.

What are you most looking forward to about #BBATheChase?

I am looking forward to watching from the side-line and seeing it from the viewer’s perspective because I never had a chance to watch BBA before my participation in the show. So it’s going to be pretty interesting.

We are looking forward to romance in the Big Brother House this season. You also were involved in a romance while in the BBA House. What is your advice to the new Housemates on finding love inside of the Big Brother House?

I say don’t take it lightly because it could be your destiny and who knows maybe God planned for the two of you to meet in the House. Whenever love comes your way, don’t side-line it

Any last words for the Housemates going in?

Nothing happens coincidentally, so believe in yourself because you were chosen to be in the House for a reason. Remember that you are on a reality show so be interesting and forget about the cameras in the House, and most importantly have fun with it.

Understanding The Kenyan Representatives To Big Brother ‘The Chase’

Big Brother Africa is the name, The Chase is the game and it’s on already! As usual Kenya is well-represented by two fly lasses, Huddah Monroe AKA Alhuda Njoroge and Annabel Mbaru. But how well do you the two housemates?

Annabel_BBA.jpg

Student and fashion designer, 24 year old Annabel says she doesn’t have any children – but considers her pets to be her babies. She enjoys reading philosophical literature. Her favorite foods include Ethiopian, Nigerian, Oriental and Italian and she lists her favorite TV show as Big Brother.

Annabel’s favorite place in Kenya is Mombasa, because she loves the water and says it’s the only place she finds peace and tranquility. Outside of Kenya, she loves Greece or Rome because of the way they have preserved the artifacts and culture through the generations. “I love art and I’d kill to live there!” she says.

Annabel says she loves attention and is looking forward to having Africa’s eyes on her 24/7. “It makes me feel like the princess I’ve always been,” she says. Her family is happy she’s going to be on the show and she says they can’t wait to tell everyone they’re related to her.

Huddah_bba.jpg

21 year old Huddah is a model with a Diploma in Programming. She loves Chinese food, ugali and fish.

Huddah’s favourite place in Kenya is Mombasa, and she says the best thing about Africa is the diversified cultures and natural resources. Her favourite place outside Kenya is Miami, because it’s a beautiful place and she loves tropical weather.

Her role model is Marilyn Monroe, because “she was intelligent, a go-getter, a sexy woman with a charming smile and also very popular”. Huddah entered Big Brother because she believes it’s a once in a lifetime experience and she felt she really needed to be part of it. “Plus it has brought a lot of opportunities in life for a lot of people,” she says.

She says having Africa’s eyes on her 24/7 will make her feel like a star, because she loves the attention. She says that if she wins the USD 300 000, she’ll double the money, expand her brand and build a business empire.

Uncle Chim Tuna Takes Shots At All The Blogs That Lied To Their Readership About The BBA Contestants!

For a long time now, I have been inundated with tweets, subtweets and snide, catty remarks about Ghafla being a gossip site. What astounded me is the fact that blogs such as PressPlay, Kenya Post ad nauseum got so much traffic from eroneous reports on who was going to BBA!

Ghafla!Kenya was eerily quiet on that subject because we knew that all the stories swirling around were rumours. But as the Akan say, it may not speak but it breathes. Then I finally broke my silence on the matter and guess who was correct?

And what about the story that KenyaPost stole from Ghafla about M.O.G’s girlfriend? The shameless blog didn’t even change my wording or the pictures used. I was right on the money about that aswell. And what about the story I broke about Amina leaving HBR and moving to Capital? Yeah, on the money there aswell.
And the piece about Anita Nderu moving from NTV’s Teen Republiq to Capital? Money shot!

So what advice does Uncle Chim Tuna have for all these other bloggers and sites? Turn Hebrew and follow me like your Moses through the wilderness of false stories and I shall lead you to the promised land of truth! And I’m not even petty about bloggers like Kenya Post stealing my very words either!

So keep ity Ghafla!Kenya to ensure that your stories are true instead of pretending to have the gospel then cocking up the facts so monumentally! And if you run a little blog like Kampus something -can’t remember it’s name- you had better start referring to me as “Mheshimiwa Msema Kweli” because let’s face it, you wait for Chim to post it so you know what is tru and what isn’t.

Like him or hate him, Uncle Chim Tuna is just that guy! The one with all the true scoops! I’m done gloating.

Meet Rio-D, The Rapper That Posed With An Ak 47! (Part 2)

I just shared with you the first part of that story, here’s the second bit of that interview.

Read part one of this interview here. Papergang’s first huge performance was in Tanzania, and that came about as a result of an EATV interview. The presenters really digged their flow and hooked them up with Fiesta event organizers. He has performed in many campus here, almost evry major town in Tanzania as well as a show in Uganda.

Finally to the gun story, he vehemently denies any deliberate wrong doing! He innocuosuly borrowed a gun from his policeman friend, to shoot the video. He explains that on the ‘fateful’ day, they were policemen there as a formality, and the gun did not at any one point leave the premise. Posting the picture ellicted such a heated debate that he was ‘nabbed’ and interogated for hours! He narrated how he got a call from strangers requesting his assistance because they wanted to pursue a music career.

They turned out to be policemen, who arrested but he was later released with no charges pressed. He edited the gun part in the video thus you shall not be viewing that. That video will be released on the 25th of May. He is now part of the Boomba production company, it’s contactual though. He not only appeared in the Juliani Utawala video, he also shot it. He plans to release a documentary of the arduous journey that has been music. Some of the hurdles he has had to surmount include opposition from his family because he chose to do secular music. Others include music not getting played until you know the industry bigwigs, as well as lacking funds to record when starting out. He says he has taken all that in his stride.

He did throw in an intersting fact, that he performed with Camp Mulla before anybody knew who they were. And he does co-own a clothing company that dresses celebrities in Nairobi. Despite my incessant nagging, he declined to name the police station where he was held, he says that is behind him. His future projects include opening his own video production company, he however has no interest in being a music producer.

Here’s that picture again.

Meet Rio-D, The Rapper Who Posed With A Gun. (Part 1)

Have you heard of Rio D? He was the guy that posted a picture of himself with a gun, and had policemen after him.

He posted a picture of himself with a gun, and literally had cops looking for him! More on that story in part two. When I saw that picture I actually thought it was a joke, but apparently it sparked such a raging debate on social media that police got wind of it. He was here earlier today to clear the air on the fiasco that he was embroiled in. Decked in tattoos, it twas one of the thing that I had to ask. He said as a hiphop artist, tattoos are part of that culture and each one he has holds a special place in his ‘heart. There’ll be a Ghafla video posted soon.

Two are of his name, a g-clef which indicates his love for music, as well as 100%. That peeps out of his chest. That he says describes his describes his indefatigable spirit and unquenchable urge to go ham in life. R.I.O are the initials to his real name, the first being Robin. Rio-D is a jack of many trades and a mastes of them all! He is a fashion designer, rapper, model, student, videographer and until recently a journalism student. He was in Zetech collge. He began music when he was 13 years, but recorded his first song in form 2. That was when he started performing, something that led to him going to three different high schools. Music was the bane of his high school life, and a bone of contention. His first video though unofficial was released when he was in form two.

After high school in 2011, he overheard that Prezzo’s MMG was looking for a team to work with. He sent prezzo his song hoping to collabo with him, but his team ended up getting signed. The team is called Papergang comprising of himself, Lyon Cash and Maggie who flew out to the States before they were signed. She records in Zone 11 and sends hooks. Zone 11’s producer happens to be Rio-D’s cousin, and he also sends them beats once ina while. His new song is one such collaboration. Their first song was lyrical pastor although paper chase was their ‘official’ release. Unfortunately, they parted ways after one and a half years, due to directional differences. That explaisn why they didn’t appear in the my city my town song or video, now you know! Wait for part two of the interview in a bit.

His acknowledges that being interviewed by Qatar’s was one of the highlight of that tour.

Scepta takes up-to 3 months to record a single song. His heart has to be at peace before he releases any song.
