A while back, Tahidi High was the crème de la crème of TV shows; people would rather break their arms and legs than miss an episode of Tahidi High.

Tahidi High explored something we could all relate to; High School and the shenanigans fueled by unadulterated teenage hormones. So big was this show that it can brag of some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry such as Sarah Hassan, Dennis Mugo, ‘Miss Morgan’ and ‘Omosh’.

Advertisers literally fell over each other to endorse a student from Tahidi High and they formed a large part of our advertising…for a while. Fast forward 7 years on, Tahidi high is probably one of the most redundant shows on TV. The likes of Shirleen Wangari and Abel Mutua were lucky enough to scatter while the program was still hotter than lava. It seemed like Tahidi High was fast cementing itself as the launching pad for young acting talent in Kenya.

And it all falls down.

Tahidi high is no longer minting big stars as it used to and by the look of things the writers seem to have thrown the concept of reality out of the window. Some of the students had been in Tahidi high longer than Methuselah was on earth that it makes one wonder ‘Kwani wanarudia Form 3 mara Ngapi’?” But thankfully, they finally finished school.

I don’t know what happened to Tahidi High but the writers should find a way of getting us back glued to our screen. I really want Tahidi High to win. Bring back the glory days. For now, we’ll wait popcorn in hand, pearls clutched, for the possibility of a new and thrilling episode of the Tahidi High.

After Lupita ‘happened’ everyone seems motivated to pursue their dreams; besides the Hollywood “IT” girl already declared and proved that “No matter where you are from your dreams are valid”.

Speaking of dreams, there are a lot more dreamers in Kenya right now who are motivated by Lupita. Meet Peter Thiong’o. However, his friends refer to him as “Loo-Peter Thiong’o” because…well…he’s a loo cleaner.

Nevertheless, his dreams are still ‘valid’ especially after Lupita won a “kiosk” after being in “slavery” for 12 years. Similarly, “Loo-Peter” hopes that after being a janitor for 20 years he can also win “kiosk” like Lupita even if they are two so that one can sell candy and the other shoes.

According to the account holder, Davis “…goes from xul to xul defiling young xul galz.” They go on to allege that he molested their 14 old daughter.

However, everything about the account doesn’t look right. First of all, all indicators point to a parody account created specifically to drag Davis’s name in mud. ‘Mamaya Nani’ has only 13 friends and the post about Davis is the only one visible on the Timeline.

Secondly, why would they post a matter that’s already in Police files on social media? And finally, everything about the grammar just raises eyebrows.

This story has since been published on Kenyan Post, something that has made Davis react since his reputation is on the line.

After speaking to Davis, it now turns out to be a serious case of a name tarnishing.

He reveals;

For a while now, we have been treated to some rather ratchet dates on Tujuane with people actually going as far as calling a girl they consider unattractive “ugly” while expecting no backlash from Nairobi girls… smart chap that was. But away from that, i would venture as far as to say that Tujuane hasn’t witnessed the making of a successful couple since they debuted on NTV but all that is set to change.

Why? Well, because they finally got the math right and came up with a winning formula. Finally, a lad who can make the rest of Nairobi’s ashy lads stand proud. A lad who has his date swooning for him and all that lovey dovey stuff that I cannot understand.
For starters, they did something different for a date. Not the stereotypical dates and all but rather a bike riding session where the lass was taught how to handle a bicycle for the first time in her life.

For so long, I have heard Nairobi lasses bemoan the lack of romantic Kenyan men but this lad whom the hosts of Tujuane stumbled upon came through to save the day! And save the day indeed he did. Check out the promo video of just how suave this lad was/is:
