Socialite Risper Faith Denies Beating Ala-C

Risper Faith became ‘moto ya kuotea mbali’ after pictures surfaced of her allegedly beating up Calif Records’ own, Ala-C  surfaced online.

This was after she made appearance in his Video “Kula Na Macho” and the artiste refused to pay up. In addition Ala-C thought that talking smack to Risper was a good idea after refusing to pay up, Risper would have none of it and that is when she decided to point him with the key.

Risper has come out to say that she DID NOT beat up the artiste just pointed as key at him

Sanaipei Tande Simulates Sex On Camera (VIDEO)

Sanaipei Tande is one of the sexiest lasses we have ever had in our entertainment scene. The lass who at some point was in “Sema” a group that was launched to stardom through a Coca Cola talent search competition before leaving and embarking on a solo career was also at some time linked romantically to Andrew Manga, one half of “The Buccaneers” rap duo. But this isn’t about her past. OIt’s about the present.

And in the present, the lass has shot a rather bold video of herself simulating sex. Personally, I think this to be a bold step in the right direction but I know just how conservative Kenyans like to pretend they are so I don’t know how people will take this. So let me just share the video and let you be the judge:

Kenyan Founder of Europe’s Biggest Award Takes Major Selfie with Acclaimed Nigerian Author Chimamanda Ngozi (PHOTO)

If Kenyans are not hell-bent to take over the world then I don’t know who else are. After Obama, came Lupita, then Adongo, the Wanyamas and now Pauline Long.

The founder of BEFFTA Awards, a distinctly special awards ceremony honouring the best showbiz and entertainment personalities in the black and ethnic communities in the UK, USA, Africa and globally, Pauline Long who is also a TV host (Pauline Long Show on Sky Channel 182 from 1pm-2pm every Tuesday and Wednesday) in the UK, has been Kenya’s greatest ambassador in Black Entertainment, Film, Fashion, Television and Arts in the UK.

Her busy schedule pairs her with world-renowned celebs and we lost count of the number of celebs she’s rubbed shoulders with, I mean, the lovely Kenyan is the founder of one of the Europe’s biggest awards ceremony.

Anyhow, over the weekend she was hanging out with acclaimed award-winning Nigerian author who has just handed Lupita Nyong’o rights her great book – Americanah -, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The two even posed for a major selfie to cap it all.

Take a look;

Forget Local Coverage, Al-Jazeera Interviews Vera Sidika (Photos)

A butt-load of people are working themselves into a frothing rage due to the fact that Vera Sidika is not only unrepentant over her bleaching but also due the fact that she has spent a whopping amount of money to achieve the yellow-yellow look.

Maybe the casual  dropping of figures spent on her hair and skin in a third world country is what is making people mad, but I don’t see people being THAT enraged over politicians nonchalantly spending tax payers money  to pacify the Anglo-leasing ghosts. Take that negativity hurled at Vera Sidika and spin it to things that actually matter and not her apparent crimes against African culture and the Bible.

vera_bleACHED.jpg

However, the vitriol hurled at Vera Sidika due to her bleaching seems be the wind beneath her wings. After an interview with NTV the trend,Vera is being interviewed by an Al Jazeera correspondent Malcolm Webb

Sadat Muhindi: “Work Hard to Succeed; Don’t Bleach”

The debate on bleaching and how it leads to success doesn’t seem like it’s about to get over and done with. Despite Vera Sidika trying to prove how whitening her skin has brought her fame and has brought her fair winds to her sailing.

However, not so many people tend to read from the same script as the video vixen.

Wealthy and flamboyant entrepreneur, Sadat Muhindi, has come out to instruct young girls not to look up to to the likes of Vera but Lupita Nyong’o and Emmy Kosgei.

“I would like to encourage our young girls to work hard in school and at work to make money for themselves. Look at Lupita, Michelle Obama, Emmy Kosgei the late Miriam Makeba among others they didn’t need to bleach to be successful but rather work hard,” opines the Maliza Umaskini founder.

He takes a swipe at Vera’s over-the-top ostentatiousness saying Vera should stop humiliating herself with $3000 shoes.

Sadat_Muhindi.jpg

Sadat Muhindi

“Tell her next time she talks about designer stuff she should do some research first. Asijiaibishe na $3,000 shoes thinking they’re expensive. If that’s so, then your “billionaire” isn’t spending much on you. Expensive shoes for female celebrities go for as high as $20,000 and handbags of up to $500,000.”

On bleaching, Sadat says,

“If a man wanted to have light-skinned women I believe he would go for European or genuinely white ones and not bleached ones. Black is beautiful. I wish girls you knew that.

Vera Sidika’s Unapologetic Skin Lightening Gets NTV and Classic 105 Talking About the Bleaching Outbreak in Kenya

A while back bleaching was a West African thing with a World Health Organization research revealing that 77 percent of women in Nigeria use skin bleaching products, followed by 59 percent of women in Togo, and 27 percent in Senegal. But it’s slowly spreading to other parts of the continent and in parts of Asia …parts that were once colonized.

There has certainly been a wave of bleaching in Kenya and Vera Sidika’s loud and proud admission to bleaching has not only caused a discussion on social media but also in the media with Classic 105, Kiss 100 and NTV getting in on the discussion.

After Vera Sidika admitted to bleaching, Victoria Rubadiri sought to find out the opinions of Kenyans on the streets and disadvantages of bleaching from a renowned dermatologist. You can check out the clip below

{youtube}mHffnf26rOk{/youtube}

Maina  also got his listeners on the bleaching issue, posing a series of  question to his listeners

“The bleach discussion …women are doing dangerous and crazy things to get lighter skin. Why are women bleaching? Is it because of guys? Is it because they’re having low self-esteem?

We saw a huge example when Vera Sidika showcased herself having bleached her skin and spending a fortune in doing so. (…yaani, she was ‘Aromated’ …she looks very different!) What makes women think that having lighter skin will make them more beautiful? What are these ‘social pressures’ that are driving women to bleach? Why don’t they accept themselves as they are?? This is crazy!!! Lupita Nyong’o is dark and she is fabulous – she was voted as the most beautiful woman of 2014. So what is this with women going ‘yellow yellow’? Iko nini?”

Reasons Why We Should Quit Condemning NTV’s Campus Diva

NTV’s campus diva expose shed light into the kind of society we are living in. A society where girls date older men not only for the money but also due to the fact that older men are more ‘loving’.

When I viewed the story, I could not bring myself to condemn the girl because how she is right now largely stems from a childhood, her background. I blame two things for her situation poverty and probably daddy issues, these two factors can make you do some crazy things.

She clearly comes from a needy back ground because what she describes as an affluent lifestyle is not what many of us would describe as affluence. She seems content with the dingy room and shabby clothes and bad hair.
Also the fact that she goes for older guys screams of ‘daddy issues’ which is NOT her fault. Maybe she had an absentee dad or if he was there he was probably distant, or cruel, or super stern or an alcoholic. In my opinion we should not rush to ‘slut-shame’ her; in such situations there is more to this situation than meets the eye. I think therapy, financial help from non-sleazy sources and love is what this girl needs as opposed to condemnation

Nation F.M Presenters’ Careless and Hypocritical Comments Land Them in Hot Soup

Anto Neo-Soul’s and Ciru Muriuki’s support of Vera Sidika and mockery of Aluoch the Campus Diva has caused quite the snowstorm on social media. Many were of the opinion that both girls are on the same business, two peas in the pod and supporting one and condemning the other was extreme hypocrisy.

Anto’s opinion that the media is not there to raise anyone’s kids rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Here are some of the comments from the people who thought the careless rude comments were not supposed to come from a station that preaches ‘sense’:

Viozil Wa Cazorla: u made the most stupid comment today and 4 that u lose a fan (me) I know it doesn’t make any difference. Clearly u doesn’t know the role of media in society and shaping kids, every aspect of their even influences who they become. Spare us the crap of not bringing up kids…nyi ndio watu CCK ilikua inasema mko incompetent in media nkt

Harry Karl Marex ‏@KarlMarex Anto Neo Soul has made the most careless statement I have ever heard from a celebrity. so #Brainless #TheTrend

Prophessor KulaMoto ‏@KulaMoto @Ambani_Saka: Does Anto Neo Soul really know the major roles of Media in any society?” he’s only there coz he can talk fluently

Intellect Mogul ‏@GicheruGicheru Anto Neosoul is mad the campus diva has taken the rich guys he wants to have

@GicheruGicheru: The man dating Anto Neo soul does not spoil him

George M ‏@alkiggs :If what I heard from Ciru Muriuki and Antoneosoul last night is what #NationFM is calling sense on air, then the word is misused! @KinyanBoy

Guya Julius ‏@mtotowaguya :But If @cirumuriuki & @AntoNeoSoul attacked Aluoch & defended Vera when its clearly the same bznes, then they must be the coolest hypocrites

‘Yello Yello’ Gospel Singer Reveals the Tribulations of Being a #TeamLightSkin

The entire weekend, the bleaching/ skin-whitening debate has been forced down our throats thanks to one Vera Sidika who admitted/ revealed on national TV that she bleached, sorry, whitened her skin for a whooping Ksh50 million!

Well, the debate set tongues wagging the whole weekend with most opinion-formers taking a swipe at her.

Gospel singer, Sarah Fana Hagos, added her voice on the debate wondering out loudly how she wished people would know the tribulations of being a #TeamLightSkin. “I wish somebody understands the benefits of having a darker skin,” Sarah chimes in on the debate.

Sharing her sentiments on Facebook, she said;

“So I have just been told, to get my skin color coasts 50M ksh!!??I wish somebody understands the benefits of having a darker skin.I remember when I was shooting my video Elshaddai, for 8hrs under the hot sun of utawala,my skin was burnt totaly until i was looking so dark and I couldnt stand on the sun shine or even cooking was hard.latter I had to see the dermatologist and was given medecine which pilled of my burnt skin.it took 2month for my skin to heal.thats why I couldnt shoot my 2nd video on the sun.

Dennis Itumbi Responds to National Intelligence Report that Casts Shadow of Doubt on His Academic Credentials

Yesterday, Sunday Nation, carried an article in which a National Intelligence Service (NIS) report alleges that Dennis Itumbi is among 50 students from Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC) in Nairobi whose qualifications are open to questions.

According to the NIS security vetting brief, Itumbi allegedly led student unrest at the institution and used this as leverage to force the then management of the college led by Eliud Sang to “award him and his class (of 50) Diplomas in Broadcast Journalism while they were enrolled to do a certificate course in the same”.

“In 2001, he joined Kenya Institute of Mass Communication as a parallel student to pursue a certificate course in journalism. He, however, was awarded a Diploma in Broadcast journalism in unclear circumstances,” says the brief.

Dennis_Itumbi_director.jpg

But what says the embattled Director for Digital, New Media and Diaspora Affairs at State House? Well according to him;

“If I forged my papers or forced/blackmailed anybody to do that, why not arrest me?

I am ready to present myself to any police Station to make arrest easier and faster….that is how criminals are and should be handled.

Thanks guys for all the calls and comments, asante KIMC for all the photos sent my way reminds me alot. I cannot respond to all, but you got my appreciation.”

Rough! Nation F.M Presenters Mercilessly Ridicule the ‘Campus Diva’

The controversial ‘Campus Diva’ has been on the line of fire especially on the streets of Twitter after she declared that she loves older richer men as opposed to younger men.

It’s not only Kenyans on Twitter who have gone HAM on her but also Anto Neo-Soul who described her as ‘not hot, so she shouldn’t be a diva adding quite mercilessly that ‘Divas are supposed to be hot people!’

Anto also said that ‘She takes away all the hard work that Kenyan women have taken to break the glass ceiling”
His co-host agreed with him saying that most girls do it ‘’to be famous, they are applying the Kim Kardashian Model of fame.” She was also of the opinion that the Kim Kardashian’s way of life encouraged women to parade themselves as sexual beings rather than intellectual beings.

When Larry flipped the coin and asked them what they thought of Vera Sidika, they were very supportive of her and yet, the campus diva’s modus operandi is a lot like Vera Sidika’s.

Ciru further entangled herself in the web of double standards by supporting Vera’s mantra that’ her body is her business’ and yet, she butted into the Campus’ diva’s business. Condemning how she chose to use her body.

Adding that if you are being a socialite ‘you should do it well’ that is be attractive, and yet she was the same person who said that women should not ‘parade themselves as sexual beings ’

Citizen TV’s Swaleh Mdoe in a Road Accident. Check Out His Car

Citizen TV’s Kiswahili Managing Editor and celebrated anchor, Swaleh Mdoe, was early Sunday morning involved in a road accident but was lucky to escape unhurt.

According to reports, the incident took place at 2AM on Sunday morning as the popular Swahili anchor headed home. Mdoe got hit by a speeding driver at the Kasuku Center roundabout in Kileleshwa on the driver’s side making the car to spin before it stopped.

However, Mdoe escaped unhurt thanks to his robust Mercedes Benz car.

Speaking to him on phone, he confirmed the incident but said he wasn’t hurt in the collision.

“Yes, I got an accident jana at around 2AM when another car hit me on the right wing of the driver but the air bags came out. The windscreen is cracked and my Mercedes is now a write-off. But I am OK,” said Mdoe.

Both cars were towed to Kilimani Police Station.

Highly Intelligent Kenyan Women Speak Out On Vera Sidika’s Bleaching: Adelle Onyango

Shut up and listen up and you just might learn something!

I had to get one of Kenya’s most intelligent celebrities; radio personality Adelle Onyango to speak about Vera Sidika’s bleaching ways. Why? Because who better to speak out on bleaching? When you think about it, the two are polar opposites. One is voluptuous, the other, not as endowed. One is light skinned vixen, the other, a proud dark skinned ebony goddess.

VERA_BLEACHING.jpg

One is dating a very successful Nigerian oil tycoon, the other went through a public break up. One uses her man’s money to invest (by her own admission), the other goes it alone.

But both are highly intelligent women, aye, both Vera Sidika and Adelle are highly intelligent. Now for Adelle’s take on bleaching:

ADELLE_GONE_BAD.jpg

First, my opinion is not based on any moral stand point. I think asking me to glorify a hurting individual is asking much of me. And doing that is a disservice to said individual. Bleaching one’s skin cannot be equated to fake nails and weaves. Why? Because of the health implications you expose yourself to. Bleaching has been shown to lead to skin cancer, liver disease and of course acne eventually. An individual who is willing to risk those diseases surely does have serious insecurities. And we may laugh it off, make it a trending topic but at the end of the day, I think she needs people around her who can help her address those insecurities.

Then there’s those of the school of thought “my body my business”, surely, the girl was on national television making it our business.

How Jaguar & Sonko Made Oil Libya at South C the Safest Place on Saturday Night

On Saturday night and early Sunday morning, the Oil Libya gas station based on Mombasa Road at South C was the safest place in Nairobi as musician Jaguar and Mike Sonko decided to hang out there.

For 5 hours (between 11PM & 5AM) the two influential but very down to earth friends hang out with their friends and even fans who stopped by to fuel were not stopped from saying ‘hi’ and even took photos with the duo.

One thing that stood out though was the level of security as Sonko’s security detail and Jaguar’s bodyguards manned the perimeters of the gas station to ensure their bosses and friends had fun without worrying about their safety. In total, there were about 10 security officers (4 armed G4S bodyguards and 6 cops) on the lookout.

Jaguar_Sonko_3.jpg

When they finally decided to drive out at around 4AM Sunday morning, their huge convoy consisting of 15 high end vehicles (among them Jaguar’s new Jaguar F-type and Sonko’s 3 Mercedes S-Class) left the place deserted.

And This Is Why Vera Sidika Has Been Trolled So Savagely By Kenyans On Twitter (VIDEO)

Vera, Vera, Vera. That’s the name on everyone’s lips. From Mine, God’s Chosen Blogger to Maina Kageni, to you and you mother. No one seems capable of keeping Vera’s name out of their mouth. And that will keep Vera laughing all the way to the bank and I guarantee that! Well, if she’s smart enough to take advantage of the hype. But I want to share with you the reason why Kenyans have been getting a violent case of the hates -the chronic condition that replaces diarrhea with hateration.

And trust that this was a funny one because right from the introduction, the LOLs were extreme:

Larry: Ummm… So, Who is Vera Sidika…
Vera: I’m a former Dark-skin….

Kenyans On Twitter Mercilessly Tear At Vera Sidika! (PHOTOS)

Vera Sidika has garnered over, nay, well over 7,000 tweets. If she isn’t a movement then I don’t know what is! The only other people I have seen inspire so many tweets over a weekend are Robert Alai, Raila Odinga, Uhuru Kenyatta and Ghafla. Wait, add Aromat to that list. And as you can see, not everyone in that bracket is a “person” per se.

But this is about the savage attacks Vera Sidika had to weather over the weekend and here they are:

@muleim

Why are u judging @vee_beiby? Maybe Vera is trying to raise awareness about Albinism, have you guys thought of that? #BleachedBeauty

Celebrating Fathers: DJ Creme Pens Sweet Letter To His Son

It takes a man to raise a man. And DJ Creme has risen to the occasion. The man who got a son whom he named Jamari has been a major part in his infant son’s life and I for one appreciate men who rise to the occasion. I also got my mitts on a letter he penned to his son and I want to share it with anyone who may be gearing up to embark on the journey of fatherhood. Check it out below:

“ The walk through this road of father hood has been the best journey I’ve ever traveled. Its been enlightening, its made me a 1000 times better than i was before my son Jamari came through. See, you’d never believe in unconditional love until you get a son who you’d literally do anything for. Ive learnt to cherish every moment with my son, watching him grow, being there to see his first moments in every thing he does. My schedule gets crazy but i always make time, we connect and i know we’ll be the best of friends when he’s all grown and can understand the world around him. I’d never trade being a dad for anything. I wanna be the best dad there is…its a beautiful thing!!

I wrote something for jamari before he as born and i thought id share….

I know you will dream and achieve mighty things. I know that you will envision greatness. Greatness comes with an abundance of blessings. Money and power are such..My son, I’ll be truthful, both are sweet, addictive..almost unforgettable.

But take heed, they have destroyed even the strongest at heart. In everything, humility. Never detach yourself from the humble self…such will blow the many winds of prosperity and long life your way.

My son, everything I have written is from the heart and I want you to do it better even than your father did. Ive never doubted it even for a second, I know you shall be great among men..loved and adored by the world.

I can’t wait to see the look on your face as you open this letter some years to come. I’ll be there to hold and hug you, to pat you on the back telling you that the best is yet to come, the good tidings limitless.

Your mother and I will always be there, the three of us, laughing and dancing through life. We shall be there to paint your world with beautiful colors. We shall be there to make your life an unforgettable story.

We love you Jamari…Our Handsome Warrior! “
