In an era saturated with upstart MCs all vying for the coveted status of ‘next big thing’, the story of Nairobi’s native, KASH is a refreshing exception to the quick route to fame and success.
Kash has made himself notable through a scholarly approach to the game with his powerful word play, Boss-like delivery, and a confident flow that commands audiences across diverse cultures.
Taking from his favorite artists a love for powerful lyricism, Kash advanced to writing his own lyrics from the age of 15, soon amassing stacks of notebooks filled with rhymes and observations. Without a D.J or producer to provide a beat, he industriously started creating his own sounds and lyrics while rapping out loud and being caught up in his own musical world, leading to perfecting his current skill.
He has since followed up with a brand new video for his latest acclaimed single that’s set to catapult the Rapper to even greater heights. Check it out;

Kash is currently working on his debut album K.O.D (Kash On Delivery) under his label GrindHauz Entertainment and Partner company X-Hoodz Entertainment. The release date is yet to be confirmed.

Military Swagg Team’s music doesn’t fit under one genre as they have proven to be quite versatile although their passion definitely points to a deep love for Hip hop. They describe their music as ‘Urban Hip Hop’.
As for whom they look up to in the industry, one name stands above the rest and this is local artist Kantai. This is because, for them, he burst on the scene and paved the way for Kenyan Hip Hop in.
In 2010, Military Swagg Team was created by four Kenyan youth who decided to come together and combine their creative juices resulting in musical euphoria.
The four were-:
Prior to the release of their first album, Military Swagg Team released a mix tape titled Road to Riches which served the purpose of giving the public a feel of what their music was all about.
Their biggest track off their sophomore mix tape was titled E-Sir’s Back, which although has Western influence, gave the Kenyan public the strong vibes that kept it close to home. This track gained popularity to the extent that various local artists proceeded to sample the beat and give different renditions of the original beat.

Last week we told you how a study revealed how the average Kenyan who had an unlimited amount of money at their disposal and made decisions based exclusively on quality when buying would do.
He would wear a Rolex, listen to Sauti Sol or Beyoncé and would most like to watch a football match with Arsenal F.C.
Well, the research company that conducted the study now also reveals that Jaguar is the best artiste in Kenya! “In the category of the best musical performer or singer, the first place went to – Jaguar”, reads part of QUDAL – QUality meDAL – DEEPMA Research findings.
“For best quality Kenyan music group, the majority of the Kenyan examinees in the QUDAL Research nominated Sauti Sol, while Jaguar won in the in the category of best singer in Kenya.”
The QUDAL – QUality meDAL – Kenya 2014/2015 Research (www.qudal.com) was conducted by the Swiss organization ICERTIAS – International Certification Association GmbH (www.icertias.com) on the territory of the Republic of Kenya during June 2014, by means of an online survey and the CAWI – DEEPMA method (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing – Deep Mind Awareness). 1.200 citizens of Kenya who were 15 and older were interviewed, using the Internet participated in the research. The survey encompassed the entire territory of Kenya.

The last time I heard about Prezzo’s ex, Chagga Barbvie, the Tanzanian beauty was attacking Huddah and Prezzo savagely. That was then. I actually believed -erroneously it seemed- that her best verbal attacks were spent up when she attacked huddah but it would seem I was wrong! She has torn Vera Sidika, Huddah’s nemesis, a new one!
She, it seems has a keen eye and she attacked Vera when she noticed that the lass is “stealing people’s social media photographs and posting them as her own. I got some print captions of her busting Vera and trust that while the attacks are vitriolic, they are funny. Or maybe my sociopathic tendencies are showing and I should tuick in my petticoat…
Anyway, check them out below:

Late this year/early this year, Ogopa DJ artistes found themselves out in the cold after Ogopa Deejays unceremoniously ended their contracts.
It was aid that Lucas head honcho of the record label was not too happy when reports surfaced that the artistes were trashing the label’s name over unfinished projects among other things.Among those booted out were Marya, Kenzo, Mustapha and Avril.
About 7 months after she was unceremoniously booted out of Ogopa, Avril speaks to Drum about her music post Ogopa. This is what she said:
“I am working on setting up a team to push me forward. As you may know, my contract with Ogopa ended last year and so I am working on setting up a team behind Avril to set the ball rolling once again. While releasing an album is not top on my list of priorities. I am working on a new single which should be out very soon”

Ladies and gentlemen, there is currently an exhibition going on at the KICC that seeks to bring together the countries of the Great Lakes Region together in a bid to combat unemployment and to empower the youth. The new drink in town is here beautiful people! This Italian drink is not only stylish but has also been brewed with nothing less than the finest Italian ingredients!
Having been around for 50years, Peroni Nastro Azzuro is a unique blend of beer that fully gives you the superior and authentic Italian taste. This Italian beer was launched in Kenya in 2012 and the growth has been tremendous! What better way to celebrate this milestone than with the introduction of Peroni can??
Just launched the other the day at Mercury, Nakumatt Junction where the who and who in the society attended. This new drink in a can will be distributed by Crown Beverages Limited a subsidiary of SABMiller and will retail at Kshs. 200.

“The Peroni premium consumer will now have a choice of a new pack that will compliment both at home and out of home occasions which are both growing in popularity in Kenya” said Crown Beverages Marketing Manager, Pinkie Nyandoro. “The can pack translates to approximately 60% sales of the premium beer category in key supermarkets , we therefore saw great business potential in making a foray into this by adding 500ml to the Peron Nastro Azzurro collection”.
Check out the pics of how it went down;

I have always found it shocking that Kenya’s media is thorough enough to allow foreign media to break news that happens locally. Such as the Lamu attacks that were carried out earlier this month. But away from that, I ovewrheard a very interesting argument between some people who were arguing about the politics of the day and they begun arguing about which television network has the best news.
I felt that this was a very peculiar argument to have, afterall news is news and facts shouldn’t change but I was shocked to learn that some of my friends are of the same opinion. And so I would like to find out which TV stations you prefer when it comes to news. And so this poll was formulated. So please, ladies and gentlemen, let me know which the most trust worthy news network is.
Is the most accurate news on KTN or NTV? On Citizen or K24? On GBS or KBC?

After keeping mum about the entire fiasco, Colonel Moustapha has decided to open up about his relationship with Huddah. For those of you who do not know what that was about, how about checking out this link?
Now, as we proceed, allow me to point out that things ended in a not so rosy fashion. The pair aren’t even on speaking terms anymore. they are currently on colder terms than this horrible weather. What I wouldn’t do to be able to work out of office! i would move to Mombasa for sure!
Anyway, he recently opened up about how he felt about Huddah at the time and this is what he had to say:
“Huddah and I definitely had a special bond, and she is a very good woman if you actually spend personal time with her. I did, so I know” Mustafa explained.
Well, Huddah is currently in West Africa -she seems to have an affinity for Lasgidi. Wonder whether it’s the weather or the men. Anyway, she’s over that entire chapter of her life from what I am made to understand.
Truly, women come into being when they get hitched! I have been going through some pictures of Emmy Kosgei’s since she got married and I must confess that she is blossoming like a flower! The gospel nightingale is looking more and more beautiful with each passing day of marital bliss! Check her out below:

Fatherhood. Nothing quite like it. And i feel we need to celebrate the fact that some men are taking their roles as fathers seriously. DJ Creme is one such man. And his son has grown unbelievably big, unbelievably fast. And Creme seems to be reveling in his new role as a father.
he took to social media to share some of the joys of fetherhood by posting a picture of him bonding with his son as they took a stroll through their hood. And my word, father and son are a splitting image! The pair of them look like they may aswell be a time sheer image -you know, looking back in time.
Check out the pair below:

Seeing as this is an entertainment site, I figure I am within boundaries stipulated when I talk about what entertainment writers share. That said, i can understand and I am fully aweare of how sensitive the information contained herewith is. But I couldn’t help but share it and hope for official state clarification on the matter.
While trawling the internets for a story, I came across a post Cate Mukei -who works for the Star- had shared on social media that I want to share with all and sundry. But first, a little background. There have been clashes in Lamu, Kenya, which have left innocents dead.
The government is struggling to get the situation under control. Well, the comely lass shared what seems to me to be official government communication of a state of emergency of sorts in Lamu. There seems to be a curfew in place. But what do I know about these thing? And seeing as this is not a GHC class, allow me to share the picture:

For those who know Tamasha by name but have no clue why its such a famous joint, allow me to educate you about this sophisticated place.

It seems that black stars in Hollywood are getting in touch with their African roots.
We saw Lil Wayne perform in a checked Maasai shirt at this year’s BET awards and Chris brown was also spotted in an Ankara Shirt.

The latest celebrity to rock an authentic African style is Michael Ray Nguyen-Stevenson a.k.a Tyga. He wears a shirt with Maasai beads incorporated in to the design.

Risper Faith. Whoever thought she would have valid relationship advice? After all the ruckus kicked up by Njoki Chege, who by my humble (not so humble) estimates was spot on when she said that men are not attracted to women who let themselves go after getting married and I must throw my weight into her corner to support her.
But this isn’t about Njoki Chege, it’s about Risper Faith and why she feels or rather thinks men cheat on you in relationships because let’s be honest, women like her.
And wouldn’t you know it, Risper has also identified weight as a major issue as to why men cheat.
You see, relationships are a contract of sorts and if certain things (such as your weight) change too drastically, then I as your man would have grounds for terminating our contract. In a video I have got my mitts on, Risper Faith was asked by the good folk at Msupa who asked her whether she agrees with Njoki Chege’s assertions and what did she say? Well, for the answer to that you would have to listen to the recording below:

So, last week, fearless and straightforward writer/ blogger, Njoki Chege, gave women another reason to hate on one of their own when she put on paper what everyone talks about but is not bold enough to put in black and white.
Anyway, Njoki’s piece is still eliciting sharp reactions, a week later! The latest to respond to the “creative writer who enjoys creating worlds with words” and self-proclaimed City Girl is rabble-rouser in chief, Cabu Gah.
Here’s what he wrote;
“Last Week,a little girl with the looks of a troll and the smile of a raccoon blew up the internets….Calling her fellow Women ‘FAT’ and ‘Boring’ ! What cheek!
Never mind she didn’t exactly look like Sharon Mundia of ThisisEss or Brenda Wairimu. Nope.
Her overall look isn’t anything to write home about either…I mean,You don’t attack Women by chiding their physical appearance when a You look like a cornered rat Yourself.
That aside.
Njoki, the tiny rabble-rouser pretended to be a MAN…And wore the cloak of a Man….to advocate for ALL MEN.
So,I,today, will pretend to be a woman…Pretend to TOTALLY and wholeheartedly understand a Woman, dive into her stilettos and tell YOU WHY WOMEN CHEAT….And,Just like her, advocate for the Whole Female species…
And without further ado….
THS IS WHY WOMEN CHEAT.
1. You are FAT. Yes,I followed that same Njoki cue on this one. Ladies LOOOVE a sporty Man;With chiseled abs,a contoured chest and Almighty muscles….Not a fat,pot-belly piece of flesh….With a chest that resembles a War zone and a stomach so huge You could hide under it in case of an attack in Lamu. No. Ladies dont want a Man with No relatable shape …A Man that looks like something a child drew. No! They want Usher. Not Rick Ross. They already own a pair of boobs. They DON’T NEED YOUR pair too! Cut that shit!
2. YOU ARE SKINNY. Just Because they asked You to cut all that fat,Doesn’t mean that they asked You to go all out and emaciate Yourself! And then end up looking like a minor character in a CNN Documentary on Famine in Ethiopia. No. Cut the crappy fat,BUT still maintain a BODY. No lady wants to lie on Your skinny ass chest…No lady wants to wake up next to something that looks like it fell from the Wardrobe overnight! Eat,Bro,Eat. Its a shame to have those ribs sticking out like that! And that pelvic bone hurts her during sex! Eat an egg or two. Cover up those shameless bones splitting her soul up anytime You hug her!
3. YOU ARE A LYING, CHEATING BASTARD.
Mostly,Women wont start CHEATING Until You Do! Yeah,Right! You heard Me! They will patiently sit there….Watch You cheat,Watch You act all sneakt and cheeky,Watch You setting up random rendezvous with Sheila,Watch You switch off Your phone and disappear all Weekend and DECIDE,ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Am Cheating on this Piece of Shit too! Dammit,I am! So,Keep acting funny….Keep seeing those little hoes,Keep lying and Keep sneaking around, coz she’s about to flip that table on Your ass, and,Unlike You,she won’t cheat with a cheap,low-life school dropout from Kariobangi.NO. She will GO BIG. And cheat On You proper! With Your County Governor. Endelea.
4. YOUR BED GAME SUCKS.
Sure,Yes! If You can’t ride that ass under the sheets,Please get up,dress up and make room for a man who can! Not sneaking onto her like a Serengeti Vulture and confusing her with Your crap and then, less than 3 minutes later,You’ve already ‘cum’ and are now rolling over like a sack of Watermelons in Githurai. No. Ride that ass. Drive her crazy! Let her scream! And grab the sheets! And lose herself! You either do that OR SHE WILL FIND a Man who will. Drive her crazy. Or Drive Your ass home! And if she will still stay with You,even with Your horrible, horrible sex, then, she WILL CHEAT.
5. YOU FORGOT SHE EXISTS.
Women LOOOOVE ATTENTION. BADLY. If there is anything she would die to get from You,its ATTENTION. Be attentive to her. As You are Attentive to the 9 O’Clock News. Notice anything new in her. Notice her new hairstyle… Manicure…Earrings… Notice her. The moment You STOP Noticing her, that’s the Moment she will look for it elsewhere. While You were too busy Noticing the new sparkle in Your car rims,Another guy is now too busy Noticing how those shoes perfectly match with her clutch bag. Endelea kuzubaa…
6. YOU ARE TOO MEAN.
Yup,I said it. Every,And I mean,Every Woman LOVES to be spoilt. Once in a while. Others,Everyday. And yet others,Occasionally. Go ahead,GRAB HER that ka-dress. Or jewellery. Or wine. Or shoes. Anything. I mean,Reach out for Your damn wallet and actually spend some shit on her! Doesn’t have to be too costly…But SPOIL her,Anyway. Otherwise, she will get a Ninja who can. A guy with a Real wallet. Not just a useless piece of camel leather. She is tired of the Njahi and Madondo plain. How about a trip to TRM today,Mr.Mean Guy??!!? Or Imma find Me a secret guy who can afford it?!!??
7. YOUR CONSTANT,BASELESS ALLEGATIONS.
Well,What Do I mean by that?? I mean,If You keep accusing her of sleeping with her boss, let’s call him Jim,and she is NOT actually sleeping with Jim,You may tempt her. Anytime she is late,You ask her whether she was with that fool Jim. She received a phone call,You suspect its from that fool Jim. She buys HERSELF a new shoe,You accuse her of receiving gifts from Jim. You guys have a small fight,You remind her that You are NOT Jim. Or even encourage her to “Go to that Jim”….One day,she will GET TIRED of Your constant, false accusations. She will tell You time and again that she and Jim have absolutely NOTHING going On. But You won’t believe her! And so one day,she will get fed up with Your insecurity, fed up with Your baseless allegations and fed up of Your jealousy. She will be hurt…And pissed off and disappointed in Your lack of faith and trust in her….And she will ACTUALLY CHEAT ON YOU with that Jim You’ve always suspected! She will prove You right! Because You pushed her too far…Way too far! Yes,You actually encouraged her to do it!
8. YOU GOT BORED OF HER COOKIE.
Truth be told,Regular cookie CAN BE BORING. Eating from the same damn pot can be boring. Quite boring, I know. And,somehow, You may end up getting bored of her cookie. And totally FORGET to eat it at all. Sometimes,You might find it hard to get hard (see what I did there) whenever she is naked around You…..But No matter what, whether its boring or Not,YOU MUST EAT It! And Cherish it…Love it or atleast pretend to! Eat it at all times…Never neglect her cookie. Or act bored of it. Because the moment You do,she will find a Man excited enough to dive into it like a scuba-diver in the Ruwenzori Falls…so,its either You give it to her,No matter how bored You are of it,Or she will have to organize random rendezvous with ANY random guy just to give it to Him. And by random guy I mean Random. Just Anyone. Including the Milk Guy. Or Your son’s Maths teacher.
She has sexual needs too,Mr.Clueless. Keep starving her.
WATCH OUT!!!
Well,I know some Women will Agree with this Article 100%…..Others will Only agree around 70%…And yet Others will Only agree with just a couple points…
As for the Men,I am hiding under a rock as I am writing this article…I hope I will be safe from Your attacks.
Aaaand that’s WHY WOMEN CHEAT!”

The body of singer Juliana Kanyomozi’s son is expected in Uganda this evening from Nairobi.
The cottage is slated to arrive at the Entebbe International Airport Tuesday evening at 7pm aboard Kenya Airways, according to Eddie Ndawula, the singer’s manager.
“On Wednesday, a funeral service will be held at All Saints Cathedral at 10am. He will be laid to rest in Matugga, on Friday, at 4pm,” he said. Matugga is the ancestral burial ground for Keron’s father Mr. Amon Lukwago.
A night vigil was organized at the singer’s residence in Lungujja in Kampala last evening where family, friends and fans assembled.
Keron Kabugo, 11, succumbed to asthma at the Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi, on Sunday morning after he was transferred to the hospital on recommendations from doctors at Nakasero Hospital where he had been admitted first after suffering an attack while at school at Aga Khan Primary school.
Social media was awash with condolence messages from fans, friends and music personalities to the songstress and Lukwago, since news filtered in on Sunday morning. Her colleagues in the music industry including Ugandan artistes Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool, Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and fellow Tusker Project Fame judge Ian Mbugua and Hermes Baraka used the forum to extend their sympathy for her loss.
May his soul rest in peace.
Props: Daily Monitor
Kenyans love to listen to radio as they go about their daily chores. With over 116 FM radio stations as of 2010 it is time to separate the chaff from the wheat as we seek to find out which duo takes the props for the best mid-morning show segment in Kenya..
Without further ado..
1. Adelle Onyango – Kiss 100 FM
After quitting 1FM’s evening show this lady joined Kiss 100. She has managed to amass a sizeable following using her social media platforms most notable Twitter where she uses the #TeamAdelle hashtag.

2. Robyn Raey and Batman – Ghetto Radio
Now this one is a very interesting duo. From discussing sexual matters at 11:00am to relationship issues, one cannot help but note their audience is growing bigger by the day.

3. Tina Kaggia
Not much has been heard of her since she’s on maternity leave. She deserves a mention though.

4. Syombua Mwele and Jeridah Andayi – Radio Citizen
This is a duo whose mastery of the Swahili language will amaze you. They’re a relatively a new partnership but already building a following.
5. Dr Ofweneke and Ambia Hirsi – Milele FM
Another Swahili station. Their show is known as Kazi Mpando and helps alleviate poverty amongst Kenyan youth in these uncertain times of unemployment.
6. Obinna and Sanaipei Tande – Nation FM
Formerly Easy FM, then Nation FM this is the only station that prides itself in pushing “sober conversations” on our airwaves.

And now time to vote here:

Njoki Chege started off a fiery debate last week when she blamed a man’s philandering ways on women’s weight and lack of style. It has been the hottest topic since Vera Sidika decided to lighten her skin and people are still talking.
The latest celebrity to weigh in on the matter is Curvaceous Grace Mslame who said this
Seeing us I can live in my bubble, just read Njoki Chege’s piece on “Fat=Cheating”, plus her interview on the Trend, & now her new article today on pretty much GoldDigging, well my 2cents here, if it matters really, is I get it! I really honestly do get where she’s coming from on both articles; But here is my issue- My kids are now 3yrs and am probably my heaviest now & though I may be much busier, truth is if I wanted to, I would be making healthier choices, but sometimes as women & men likewise we tend to get comfortable & lazy & also one thing am learning especially for me as a single Mom, because I don’t have a man to come home too I come to a place of acceptance & unconditional love from my two girls, so that pressure isn’t really there, but in real essence how it should be is, only until a woman realizes that she needs to get to a place where she needs to workout for herself, eat better for herself, dress smarter, all these things should be because you love your body, it’s your temple take care of it & you’ll be surprised at the confidence you’ll get if you do it for you…
All must be to done for your good, don’t do it for your partner, that said the bible is clear that “The Woman will crave the attention of a Man” So it all goes back to knowing your worth & that He made you beautiful, so if your spirit is right you’ll also want your body to catch up with it, so do it for you!! Because a man won’t cheat because your fat! He’ll make the choice to cheat anyway, so you’ll do all these things to impress him only to be cheated on, then loose the will to even try to look beautiful, because the reason you look beautiful every morning is for him & not you, so that correlation between weight gain=cheating is not that black & white, because Though men are visual beings, cheating is a choice! And he who makes the decision to has the problem, and that should not be pegged on your weight. A good man would simply address it head on & you work as a partners to bring out the best in each other. I could go on forever really, but calm down people Njoki Chege is only doing what I’ve always had a problem with- Maximizing on Controversy, sucks but that’s what sells, but I must say that I like that she is starting necessary conversations., though leaving a sour taste for many…
Her new article, Well… I actually posted a similar one on my blog earlier this year; Revelations… My view then… But more evolved… Only thing constant in life is change eh;-)

Yesterday we revealed to you the newest celebrity parents in town; Betty Kyalo and Dennis Okari and now there’s more.
The delightful KTN anchor has now also shared a photo for her new baby and was even kind enough to reveal her name to us. Betty posted a picture on her IG page with the caption, “Early mornings with my little girl #inlove”
Even though it’s a silhouette photo (clearly to convey mystery), the newborn can be seen leaning on her shoulder sleeping serenely;

In another post, she reveals her little angel’s name. The little girl has been named Ivanna.
The name has both Hebrew and Greek origins but has same meaning; “Gift from God” and/or “gift of the gods” in Greek.
