Gospel kids Willy Paul and Bahati are Fiercely Taking the Industry by Storm, Check Out Why They Are ‘Badder’ Than Most

Gospel singers Willy Paul and Bahati are definitely a force to reckon with and if that is anything to go by, the singing duo is actually setting a benchmark in the gospel industry.

Well if you did not know let me enlighten you a little bit; this year, singer Will Paul has undoubtedly dominated the headline on the media by his numerous achievement. Winning the globally renowned Atlanta awards and yesterday’s Mwafaka awards, Willy’s career is ultimately on the rising and the singer is firmly cementing his foot print on the gospel industry. He managed to outdo some of the big names in his nominated categories and finally clinch the gold.

On the other hand, singer Bahati seem to be doing exactly what Willy is doing; winning it all. He clinched the Groove award, the continental AFRIMMA award and yesterday’s Mwafaka awards. The country’s most humbled singer is also set to release his latest single debut today and much can only be expected from him.

Forget the Glamour, Check Out The Flip Side of Mwafaka Award 2014

Just like any story, there is a good side and the bad side of it, to remain impartial in our writing; we the Ghafla team always seeks to give the two sides of the coin, today I will illuminate on every angle and every side of Mwafaka Award 2014.

First things first, the official communicated time for the kickoff of the award was 3:00 pm but the enthusiast fans had to wait for two hours till the ceremony had to begin. Some of the big names were conspicuously absent during the award gala at the K.I.C.C. too; a likely indication that the recognition and trophy only does not attract artistes unlike monetary incentive would.

The big names missing in action include: Bahati who won best video of the year 2014; his award was received by his team on his behalf, Willy Paul who won top male artist of the year 2014 and best collaboration together with Gloria Muliro, Larry Madowo who won TV presenter of the year; his award received by his colleagues of QTV and last but not least Tim who won audio producer of the year; his award received by his lovely wife.

Up to the time this article was being written, there was no official press release of the award gala and the information had to be sourced and sorted by the individual writer or media house so the information in this article is subject for review. All in all, the award gala was amazing and the master of ceremony DR. Ofweneke was just superb with his duty.

Anonymous Attack Again! Kenzo Matata is the Victim this Time Round

The increasing incidents of hacking of celebrities’ websites and social media accounts has continued to send worries across the country and it seem the hackers would not stop just yet.

Well over the weekend, musician Kenzo Matata became the latest victim of hacking by the anonymous group of hackers. Kenzo reported that his Facebook and Twitter accounts were starting to behave in a ‘funny’ way and he could not log into both accounts. The singer urged his fans to avoid his accounts as he was no longer in control of them.

It is not known why these hackers are hitting on celebrities but it is rather a disappointing occurrence given the effort and time it has taken these hard working celebrities to build their fan base on the social media. Kenzo joins the like of Sautisol among others who have fell prey to these thirsty scavenging predators.

Jaguar’s Music Producer Responds To Pulse Writers Article About Fake Kenyan Celebrities

In today’s issue of the Pulse magazine, one of their writers has gone in on Kenyan artists who fake it till they make it. And trust that it rubbed me the wrong way but more on that later. For now, let us concentrate on the matter at hand. The article which is called “Wannabe Celebs” was done by Eleanor Nandwa and it was the perfect example of how simple minded Kenyans love to trash and tarnish efforts by their own at the expense of building their industry.

The story quoted Ringtone who was attacking Papa Dennis for going to South Africa to make a video and he was hiring vehicles to that end.
Personally, I fail to see what the problem is with the method of faking it till you make it. Because it is a proven method. Tried, tested, and has proven itself. You think not? Think again fool!

Rick Ross, B.I.G, Tupac, everyone has borrowed a leaf from this playbook. The only difference is that they get to do so inform of “contracts”. You need to understand that the money rappers and artists are given after signing a contract to say Arista is an “advance” that they have to pay back with interest. If that is not faking it till you make it then I do not know what is.

And yet you have Kenyans quick to rubbish their compatriots efforts at building themselves. And I am not alone in my disdain for this nonsense. Phil Makanda, the brainiac behind Jaguar’s hits had this to say:

http://photos-d.ak.instagram.com/hphotos-ak-xaf1/10608049_296982860487379_1778217385_n.jpg

Just my thoughts: I don’t see a problem in hiring #mansions or #flashy #cars for #music #videos If at all they are accessible. A music video is a #product like any other, that ought to be well packaged to appeal to its audience. Its simply telling a story in the best way possible… One can’t own all the cars or #houses in the world but u can use those at your disposal to your advantage… Unfortunately As the rest of the #world moves fwd some conservatives will always remain behind doing the same old … Just my thoughts… @ringtoneapoko@realpapadenis

This Lass’ Love for God Will Have You Thinking Twice About Your Wavering Faith

Barely two years in the music industry, this gospel heartthrob has been releasing song after song and is currently working on another single dubbed ‘Adonai’ which shall feature Guardian Angel. This reggae jam will be released to the public in a few days.

Only in her early 20’s, Chuchu’s love for God is admirable to say the least, makes you question your wavering faith. For a 20 something year old, I must say she’s found her path quite soon unlike most of us.

She has released three singles so far; Upendo, Beautiful & Naondoka, and promises an album release by mid-next year.

Here’s one of her songs, hope it inspires and aspires your life; {youtube}iN6pyUMmGWg{/youtube}

Citizen TV’s Kambua devotedly Expresses her heartfelt Accolades to Singer Bahati

Humility is a virtue that many would love to emulate in their personalities but one singer is a living example of what humility really means and in a nutshell if I ask you who may that be, definitely many will utter gospel singer Bahati.

He is certainly the most humbled celebrity ever known, a fact that has earned him inspiration from all quarters. Despite his sky rocketing career, singer Bahati has never fell short of being humble or rather he does not fell to appreciate the journey to his much celebrated career. It is of this reason that Citizen TV’s Kubamba host and gospel singer Kambua has ultimately revealed that Bahati is her favourite celebrity.

“In my line of work I get to meet some amazing people who have allowed themselves to be used by God to influence and impact the world. This is one of my favorite ones” Kambua wrote in her Facebook page referring to singer Bahati.

Rough! Chipukeezy Blasts Risper Faith Live On Radio

I didn’t know Chipukeezy had it in him, the ability to viciously blast someone.

Do not be fooled by the small frame, wide smile and the jokes from Mlolongo he is a fierce! And not the Tyra Banks kind of fierce, the ‘will maul you ‘kind of ferocity. He went all ape-sh**t on her and Blaqy.

It all started when Chipukeezy started informing Caroline Mutoko of a video that has been trending for a while, Blaqy’s ‘Money Maker’.
He first  went off on Blaqy  whom he claims was lied to by his mum or someone else that he can sing .So he went to the bathroom while his voice  should be left to singing in the bathroom .He then emphasizes on Blaqy’s complexion calling him a  ‘very black man ’

IMG_1613.jpg

Risper and Blaqy share a moment

He goes on to mercilessly describe Risper Faith as a girl who ‘goes nude for our attention and so that we can know she exists. He then goes ahead to describe her as a very confused girl, who has completely lost herself

Meet Jeff Koinange the Musical Maestro

The language of music is an international language, the only language that cuts across all divide and which one Jeff Koinage strongly belief can heal the blistering problem of ethnicity in the country.

If you did not catch a glimpse of last night’s Jeff Koinange live, worry not because I will give you a hiccup of what transpired. Reputedly many of you know Jeff as the Larry King of Africa (Larry is a renown international television host guru; for those of you who do not know him) as this guy has traversed the continent and interacted with leaders like no other person. Leave that alone, seemingly Jeff can also sing well, I mean not hip hop or blues but he is classical, country music is his thing.

Yester night, Jeff hosted Elvis Otieno a country music singer in his show; Elvis is a Kenyan who fell in love with country music a passion that drove him to be a country music singer. The pair sang country music together and they just rhymed so well that one could not but wonder whether they had did a rehearsal for the show. What a voice! Enough said, just check out this video for yourselves here:

Dr Alfred Mutua Mourns Fallen Nation Journalist

Grief stricken Kenyans continue to mourn the death of Bob Odalo, the “Daily Nation” writer who passed away last week.

He was a famed writer who reported from Machakos County. Bob passed away after falling ill in and being admitted to Mediheal Hospital, Nakuru.

Among those mourning him are his fellow colleagues from the Daily Nation and Governor Alfred Mutua who posted this on Facebook:

Rest in Peace veteran Nation journalist and friend Bob Odalo. No other writer understood Ukambani politics better than you. I will miss you.

Gospel Meets Secular! Artistes Across the Divide Unites For a Course

You are probably wondering whether water can mix with oil, stop there for just a little bit, it is not the first time though, it has happened before, let me first jerk up your memory; do you remember the hit Si Siri by genge King Juacali and gospel rapper and lyrist Juliani? Yes it has happen again.

This time round incorporating gospel singers Daddy Owen and Size 8 and secular artistes Octopizzo and Dela, a new song dubbed Malaria Ni Hatari has been launched to promote the course of fighting the menace of malaria in the country. The song seem to follow in the footstep of a similar song by Nigerian artiste Omawumi (Omawumi – Mortein World Malaria Day Theme Song) which was also geared towards the same course.

‘Daily Nation’ Journalist Passes Away

Grief grips the hearts of ‘Nation Media Group’ employees following the demise of a long-serving writer, Bob Odalo.

Bob passed on last week at Mediheal Hospital in Nakuru after falling sick during a visit to his family.
Bob will be remembered by many for his impeccable coverage of the Kyanguli Fire about 13 years ago in which 59 students died.

The Nation editorial management announced his death by saying: “Bob distinguished himself as an aggressive, perceptive, insightful and dependable journalist. He had a wide network of contacts and effectively served the Lower Eastern region. He will be dearly missed by all his colleagues.”

This is Why Citizen TV’s #OpinionCourt is Trending on Twitter

Last night Citizen TV’s news anchor Anne Kiguta hosted cabinet secretary for Health Mr. James Macharia to discuss Ebola counter measures and this discussion has elicited a lot of reactions to gain a top spot among the most trending items on twitter.

Macharia’s stand to defend the move by national carrier not to abort flight to the affected West African nations is the one that is drawing a lot of people to air their frustrations. Macharia defends his stand arguing that Ethiopian Airways and Rwanda Air are still flying to West Africa so if Kenya Airways was to stop flying to West Africa, passengers would still slip into the Country through Adis Ababa or Kigali. He further insisted that a blanket ban on flight would not have a big outcome in curbing the spread of Ebola. The cabinet secretary also stated that the country was ranked by World Health Organization as a level 2 nation therefore the risk of Ebola was very minimal; he later revealed that the country was sending two doctors to Monrovia in Liberia and Free Town in Sierra Leone to assess the situation on the ground.

Well here is what really made people to talk on twitter; first thing first many people think the Cabinet secretary does not understand the meaning of the phrase ‘Prevention is better than cure’. They do not see the meaning of the national carrier to keep on flying to West Africa, accidentally slip the dead virus in the country then start grappling with the menace of Ebola. Actually the Cabinet secretary said in case of any incident of Ebola infection surfacing in the country; the government would administer Ebola experimental vaccine Zmapp to patients with acute symptoms of the Virus.

Check out Kiguta’s conversation with the cabinet secretary here:

Journalist Tries To Humiliate Martha Karua,Her Response Is Legendary

A Standard Newspaper Journalist put pen to paper to describe Martha Karua and her political ambitions .

In an article titled ‘Our country needs no saving, but ‘Okoa’ Kenya will salvage Karua from the brink’ the writer Peter Kiamani wrote this about Martha after he met her at a breakfast party “…What I disliked the most was the grimace she flashed when she attempted to smile. It was painfully fake. But since politics is not a beauty pageant, or even keeping it real, I hoped Martha’s diminutive stature or inelegant smile would place no obstacle in her ascendancy to  the high office, which she made no secret was her next ambition.”

He then goes on to rubbish her political career adding that her only home to make a apolitical comeback was through Cord’s Okoa Kenya Movement

Check out Martha’s reply below :

Sonko’s Family Set For A Reality Show

Uh… Wait, what?

My exact sentiments about this story.

So, I just stumbled upon a story on Standard Digital about the Nairobi Senator’s daughters getting a reality show and I am confused. See, when I think of a reality TV show, I immediately think of ratchetness. Or ratchetry if you will seeing as neither of those words actually exist.

Anyway, word has it that the Senator’s children will have a reality show soon based on their lives. And to be honest, understanding the Tv show rating system as it is, I know for a fact that unless the show has some level of ratchetness, it’ll be a dud.

And that is why I do not understand this entire affair. Why would anyone choose to go that route if their parent is a politician. then again, this is Sonko so there aren’t that many shocks to be had here.

Victoria Kimani Responds to Allegations That She Snuck Into The White House (Photo)

If you are a follower of Victoria Kiamani on Instagram, I am sure you have come across her well documented visit to the White House.

She took selfies before the White House and posed for photos with the likes of Buffalo Soulja, the legend himself Femi Kuti, AY, Dbanj, among others  while they were there.

white.jpg

Well according to Pulse, Victoria was not invited to the Us-African summit and made it to the US-African Summit only because she was posing as a Nigerian artiste.

v_at_usa.jpg

Pulse goes further to claim that since Kenyan artistes were not invited by Uhuru to the Summit; she had decided to sneak in using her Nigerian Label, Chocolate City.

Victoria Kimani took to Social Media to respond to these embarrassing accusations ,This is what she posted:

ok so pick up Today’s Standard Newspaper …. The story is ALL over the place , with extremely incorrect information .. But it’s a fun

KTN’s Linda Oguttu Give #KOT a Dose of Their Medicine

They are definitely Africa’s most fierce group on twitter; Kenyans On Twitter better known as #KOT is a force to reckon with, mess with them and surely you will have ten thousand reasons to quit twitter.

First thing off the trending topic #Ebola is raising much concern with KOT, reason being? The national carrier Kenya Airways has refused to halt its travel to the affected countries in West Africa. The carrier claims it is taking all the necessary precautions by screening all the travelers from the West African states to make sure Ebola does not sip into the country. On the other hand, KOT thinks the steps taken by the carrier are purely for public relation purposes.

Look at it this way, nearly all developed countries which have far better sophisticated medical accessories have halted their travel to the affected West African states, but a national carrier of a country that is still ranked as a developing nation says it has mechanism to curb the spread of Ebola, I mean guys KOT has a thing to justify their concern.

Now this is where KTN’s news anchor Linda Oguttu comes in, apparently she does not like hearing all the noise being drummed by the bandwagon, she is more inclined to giving her fact according to what the World Health Organisation says. Linda differs with KOT and here is her argument on her twitter post:

The President Lashes Out At Ghafla

The president is definitely angry with Ghafla bloggers for apparently disclosing a thing about his escapade with socialite Vanessa Chettle during the Dala 7s in Kisumu over the past weekend.

The self-proclaim King of bling could not digest the news that was posted on Ghafla and got on to this twitter account to express this opinion. “These freakin bloggers are becoming a severe butt itch, much as they be talking about a President i might as well own shares.” Prezzo is certainly not pleased by our post and he also indicates how loaded he is to buy shares at Ghafla.

Well the country is a democratic state and surely the King of bling was right to iron out his concerns. We on the other hand are just doing our job of feeding our enthusiastic infotainment thirsty fans with what they want to hear, do not hate the player, hate the game.

Ego Or Baseless Complaints? Nyambane Starts His Tenure At The Nairobi County Council By Pissing Off Everyone

For a long time now, Nyambane has been on the Ghafla radar for all the wrong reasons. So much so, that even while serving the people in the heartland of the Kisii people, he was informed about it and he tried to reach us. And we did indeed have a chat. You see the problem with reaching such important people is that they design their schedule such that you cannot reach them unless they want to reach you.

But away from the background to our relationship with Nyambane and now to the story at hand; So it is rumoured that Nyambane landed at the County Government headquarters in what used to be referred to as the Nairobi City Council (I refuse to even hint at it’s less classy, more tangible alternative name that rhymes with sheet).

timthumb.jpg

And when he arrived there, he saw his office and wasn’t impressed at all. So he had all his subordinates squished together to create room for himself. But that is actually a good thing, forward thinking -they are now conserving heat in this cold bleak weather. Plus now that they are in each other’s space, they are getting better acquainted.

But I called up the comedian cum government bureaucrat cum entrepreneur up to get his side of the coin and this what he had to say to me:

“First off, what’s your name again? (Uncle Chim Tuna) Okey, Uncle Chim Tuna, let’s get this right, it’s the County Government, not the County Council.

Even if I were to change my bulb, some people would like it, some would not. There will always be people to complain about any change. And that is a story in public domain, I would rather talk about something more important. Something geared to keeping Nairobians informed because I can work anywhere. I don’t need 15metres to work.”

There in lies the science behind the title to the article. Is this a man focused on delivering -a goal oriented man who might have unwittingly stepped on his subordinates toes or is this a megalomaniac talking?

Personally, I do not mind him. Having spoken to him, he strikes me as a kindred spirit, a douche.

Maina Kageni Buys an Astonishing Ksh 13 Million Worth Jaguar Sports Car (Photos)

He is definitely marking his territory just like an alpha male would do, if anything is to go by, Classic FM’s presenter Maina Kageni has certainly set the trend among the celebrities with his exclusive ride.

Maina joins the ranks of celebrities like Jaguar (The One Centimeter hit maker and not Jaguar a car nor the big cat of western hemisphere), Nameless, prezzo among other who all have a thing for exclusive European made high quality vehicles. The British made car is usually a benchmark in the automobile industry and owning such a car is just an indication of another social class in which the owner belongs.

Well the next time you spot a white Jaguar sport car around the city; it may just be your favourite Classic FM Maina Kageni driving past you, but I do not mean now you start stirring at every white Jaguar car that passes you. Check out the photos of Maina’s car.

Risper Faith’s Behind Is Bigger and Sexier Than Ever In New Naughty Bikini Pics

Risper Faith was thrust into fame by her enviable derriere and if the hits on ‘Money Maker’ are anything to go by, Risper will not be leaving the limelight anytime soon.

In photos that we got from one of the people involved in the money-maker project , Risper  showed off her most famous asset and looked more bootylicious than ever in a barely there  bikini and red swimsuit!

Opinion: Find out Why Socialites’ Careers are Genuine and Should be Respected

Well before you even think of shouting at me or anything of the sort, let me enlighten you just a little bit, at least socialite do not steal, they earn their money.

Well if you hate socialites with vigor, then I have no idea of how much you would love or hate an armed robber or a murderer. This comparison may look rather awkward but I just have to catch your attention first. The simple definition of a socialite is any person who is well known in fashionable society and is fond of social activities and entertainment. Underline fashionable, I guess this is where it catches many people off. Unfashionable people in society will not like socialites.

The crap that really generates hate for socialites is the explicit pictures and videos they keep flooding the social media with. One thing about social media I like is that no one really forces you to be their friend(s), like their page(s), follow them, comment or share their posts; get that right. For instance, when socialites upload explicit material and it goes viral over the media, I really wonder who are these people that get their hands on such kind of material(s) yet in the open, condemnation is usually the order.

Socialites do not rob anyone; the people just make them earn their living. Look at this scenario for instance; if any of the renowned socialites like Vera Sidika, Huddah Monroe, Risper Faith, Corazon Kwamboka, Venessa Chettle, Pendo among others get to upload a ‘nasty’ stuff, then the whole social media get rejuvenated and people finally get to talk. If you are a ghafla enthusiast you can definitely tell the number of times the stories related to socialites have topped the list of stories with the most hits. The bottom line; people definitely want to hear a thing or so about socialites. They MOSTLY make their money by exposing their body. Just amazing even Vera Sidika has a mobile application about her.

Love or hate them, just do not blame the social media, if there is a demand for infotainment, we simply got you covered in a morally conscious manner.

The above article totally reflects the opinion of an individual.
