The topic was Blogging, professionalism and Irresponsibility and what seems to stir a hot debate is the fact that monitoring of bloggers is viewed as an infringement.

Mark Masai hosted the renowned bloggers in the country and their argument was centered on the recent development in which bloggers were being sued for criminal libel on their work. The bloggers argued that blogging should not be regulated as unlike the mainstream media; blogging is only an expression of opinion in matters of public interest and that there is no defamation on its work.

The bloggers insisted that social media conversations should not be monitored and challenged the government to sue them if they have the proof of any infringement on civil rights and further underlined that any form of regulation should be drafted by the bloggers themselves. I love to laugh and I tune in to as many Kenyan comedic TV shows as possible, some are pretty fantastic, others not so much or rather they are not my type of comedy.

One of the most fantastic shows in my humble opinion is NTV’s offside. ‘Offside’ is a bright and relaxing 20 minutes of television that airs every week on NTV.

The two host Obinna and Otoyo bring to us the funny angle of  happenings in Kenya. From some drunken ‘ Lewa-nese ’twins(who had me cackling  )to SONU’s chairman hilarious struggle with the English language, all these clips always leave us begging for more.

Overall, the show is pretty interesting and is showing no signs of slowing down .What do you guys think of the show?

You know Faith Muturi as the host of hit gospel show Cross Over 101 that airs every Sundays 10:00am on NTV .

When she is off-screen, the TV host is also a Corporate Trainer and MC, Motivational Speaker and Mentor. But it seems that we might get to know her as more than a Corporate Trainer and MC, Motivational Speaker and Mentor. I think it is safe to say that Faith is also stylish, check her out in her beautiful Kente dress

For the sake of those living in a cave, let me summarize who this two great artists are and why its newsworthy. Flavour is one of the most talented singers in Nigeria today, he has released a couple of songs; “Ada Ada”, “Nwa Baby”, “Chinny Baby”, “Oyi” with Tiwa Savage just to mention a few.

 

Victoria Kimani on the other hand proves over and over again that she’s just not Bamboo’s younger sibling but an artiste on her own path. Signed under Chocolate City, she’s released a couple of songs too; “Mtoto”, “Oya” ft Mi, “Prokoto” just to mention a few.

Apart from her pretty face and curvaceous body, Arsenal fans would definitely love Grace Msalame yet for another reason too.

Just a day a go, Grace disclosed that her beautiful twin angels were Arsenal fans and praised the team for clinching the much coveted Community Shield trophy. Grace posted on Instagram photos of her twin daughters posing with Arsenal jersey. “Even my girls know which team is the winning team” wrote Grace on her Instagram post.

When news of the death of Esther Arunga’s son filtered into Kenya’s media thanks to Kahawa Tungu sorry, I mean Robert Alai, the country was shocked. No stranger to controversy ever since joining what many believe to have been a cult called “Finger Of God”, to her estrangement with her mother and father. However, the death of her young toddler was quite a shocking blow.

 

A follow up was attempted to find out and possibly offer assistance to Esther Arunga and her family who currently reside in Australia but the Kenyan embassy was told to keep off the case as Esther Arunga and her family have requested the Australian police to keep the criminal case to themselves and keep the Kenyan authorities off their backs.

That is not where the new developments end, it has now emerged that the controversial Kenyan couple of Quincy Timberlake and Esther Arunga have moved away from the area they lived in previously out of concerns for their safety and to ensure their family’s privacy:

According to reports, the couple moved out with their only surviving child out of their Goiodfellows Road town house in Kallangur to an unknown destination.
The house the couple were residing in reportedly goes for 250-350 Australian dollars per week. That’s 65.600 per month to 114,800 Kenya shillings per month.

Meanwhile, in Kenya, it is reported that both parents of the couple are now unable to reach out to their children with Quincy Timberlake’s mother even demanding to be put intouch with him but all to no avail.

James Chanji Wamukoya well known to you as Mshamba has received a far good reception with his own comic opera dubbed ‘Mshamba’ where he is playing the lead role.

He is the same mshamba who was also part of the cast of Papa Shirandula and Gavana, yes he is the same guy, if you have a thing for him you definitely have to catch his new comedy ‘Mshamba’ which premiered last Monday on KTN at 7:30 PM and will henceforth be airing on the same time every Mondays.

Mshamba is a situational comedy that depicts the story of a man by the named Mshamba and his uncle Bishop; the two who are semi illiterate believe that only Nairobi would be the breakthrough to success.

The show has been received well by the audience who flocked Mshamba’s Facebook page showing their appreciations to the comedian.

 

Having gone off the face of the media for a while, Juliet Kwamboka known to many as Toxic is definitely Kenya’s first socialite and she may just be preparing her come back to limelight.

Here is a hiccup of the event as it unfolded over the weekend; first off, Othman Radadi and Shazar Anwar won the bikes and quad categories respectively. Radadi, who had a time of 1.54.02 admitted that though it was a tough course, he was happy with his performance while Quads section winner Shazar Anwar finished four laps with a time of 1.40.02.

The event was sponsored by Redbull Energy Drink  and Mzuka Media and graced by Dirt Masters who were the event organizers.

After the sudden demise of veteran actor Derrick Amunga on 3^rd of August, the funeral committee has have finally disclosed the burial arrangement.

A commemoration mass will be held on Wednesday the 13th at Kenyatta National Hospital chapel from 12 noon then the body of the late Amuga shall be taken to Kenya National theatre on Thursday the 14th for fellow actors and artists to pay their last respect. The body will then travel to Amunga’s home in Kakamega for final resting place.

Derrick known for his role in the popular TV show of the 90s, Tausi, as ‘Master Sugu’ was allegedly knocked down by a motorist and rushed to Kenyatta Hospital where he succumbed to injuries he sustained. Rest in peace Derrick.

This where guys started ironing out their concerns, Why would you take a lady out for a sleep over at the Maasai Mara on a first date if indeed you did not have any no sinister motive? Well we all saw the dating duo sleep in different tents but you just never know.

Then there is this issue where men get intimidated by ladies who have bigger income than them. This guy, Dj Nruff when he heard that the lady was in real estate, he actually wanted to know how much she makes (maybe to compare with his own earnings) and the wise lady never disclosed, a good move indeed.

For those of us who subscribe to ‘I would rather cry in a Ferrari than laugh on a inelegant bicycle’ school of thought, Robin Williams death should come as a lesson to us.

Robin Williams, actor of Mrs Doubtfire and Jumanji committed suicide after battling depression something which he has been very vocal about.
He was able to make us laugh and yet, he himself was sadly not happy despite all the fame and success. It is really sad.
