One of Nairobi’s top actresses was allegedly weighing up on committing suicides after her bid to join Africa’s biggest reality show hit the wall.

Big Brother Africa Hotshots might be exciting many people from across the continent but one actress Elle Ciiru was sent to shock when she found out that she was not among one of the lucky participants to represent Kenya at the Continental reality show. She allegedly went on her Facebook page and wrote; “Fighting to not commit suicide so kindly let me be. Work continues but I need to be left alone for a while. I invite abusive men to beat me to death please”. She pulled down the post before we could manage to get the screen shot.

It is still not clear whether the BBA fallout was the immediate cause of her reaction but sources close to her say she did not take well the news that she had been rejected by BBA honchos to represent Kenya. Attempts to reach Elle Ciiru did not bear fruits as we could not reach her phone on her phone.

The senior writer-cum-columnist at the Standard Group has found himself in a rather awkward situation to earn a spot among the hottest items that are currently trending on twitter.

By now I guess all of you probably know that Tony Muchoma has been accused of allegedly abusing a lady sexually. Better known as the Scribe or Smitta; Tony has drawn the attention of nearly every twitter users in Kenya and you know what that means. The guy has not even pleaded guilty of the offense but twitter panelists are already condemning him to doom.

Yesterday, Tony Mochama a.k.a Smitta Smitten was trending on Twitter after a woman came out accusing him of being a sex pest . It was alleged that Smitta had groped the said woman in the accuser’s house.

Twitter was on overdrive with women condemning this ungodly act  while men felt that this was the use of assault as a weapon.As a way to ‘destroy a man with a great career’

Robert Alai also weighed in on this trending topic and was of the belief that Tony should have been given a chance to answer to these damning accusations before being crucified

It seems Gospel Sensation Ruftone has decided to boost his fame by delving into acting.

The singer featured in KTN’s MSHAMBA series where he lost Comedian MSHAMBA on their way to the capital from Western Kenya.
In the comedy series, Ruftone acts as Mushamba’s cousin who is helping him to travel to Nairobi to search for greener pastures. But the ever naive Mshamba proves to be so problematic that Ruftone gets so angry with him.

Mshamba then receives a call from one of his friends back home who informs him that his lover Sele is getting married to Johny.
Mshamba vanishes from the rented apartment back to kakamega, effectively ending his subsequent attempt to go to Nairobi. Ruftone is left astonished when he realizes Mshamba has disappeared back to Western. 

So is Ruftone trying his other luck in acting? It is not the first time the gospel singer has featured in local series. He also at some time appeared in Citizen Tv’s Inspekta Mwala as a law abiding citizen who broke traffick rules and reported the incident at the nearest police station.
It’s left up to you to judge. Is Ruftone wowing in Music or the acting industry or both?

After Ghafla Kenya EXCLUSIVELY reported that TONY MOCHAMA was on fire for what was alleged to be sexual assault on an undisclosed women, the scribe has come out to refute the allegations leveled against him.

Commenting on the article done by Ghafla Kenya, Mochama says that Wambui Mwangi is on a mission to wreck his career and that she has hated him for so long for what he claims are the ‘Men Only’ articles he writes, which to her look chauvinistic.

Mochama goes on to say that Wambui is trying to remain relevant and to attract attention. He, however, admits that he indeed was in Wambui’s house with other writers from across the continent and there is no way he would do such a wicked thing.

Dear Ghafla,
Sorry I lost my phone at storymoja hay fest over the weekend. I was at said Wambui’s house with lots of other (local and international) poets on Sato aftey but at NO point did I assault anybody. Wambui Mwangi herself was conspicuously absent, ‘coincidentally’ latergiving a talk on ‘MEDIA and MISOGYNY’. Wambui has hated on me for years, specifically for my ‘Men Only’ column which she calls chauvinistic (its a Sato humour piece) – and I think she invited me to her place as a set up to create this hullabaloo to gain ‘feminist’ relevance (she is a bitter, childless, fifty something whi is always ranting at me on CKW. I do not know when I ate her goat). Regardless, I am suing her for slander and defamation to my reputation. Never in my life have I sexually assaulted anybody, or needed to, and its not on Saturday in front  of everyone that I would begin. Wamboi all day has been tweeting to my employers and creative sponsors. Clearly, she is on a career-wrecking mission, but I am suing her for a million, and she will not succeed in her wicked scemes. Quite frankly, I also think she is a little clinically insane, to invent this wicked fiction about me. I am sad, angry, vexed and perplexed,  but atalipa kotini. Thanks. Tony.

The Scribe is under fire from one of his fellow writers on what is termed as sexual assault.

The social media has been awash in the better part of the day with allegations that the renowned writer sexually assaulted an undisclosed woman.

WAMBUI MWANGI, a renowned writer, has spent the better part of the day accusing Mochama in her twitter account of sexually assaulting a woman in her(Wambui) house.

 Here are some excerpts from Wambui’s tweets:

It could be that the scribes were meeting in one of their own’s house when the alleged ordeal occured.

However, efforts by Ghafla Kenya to reach out to Tonny Mochama through his phone number for comment proved futile as the receiver of the call twice said it was a wrong number.

Pombe Bhangi is just one of those videos where the artistes sing/raps very little in the song, but it comes viral.

This is because of the employment of Raila Odinga’s ‘Pombe Bhangi’ phrase and the girls letting loose and going wild.
News of the raunchiness and ratchetness present in the video spread faster than chicken-pox in a schoolyard and soon everyone was flocking to youtube to watch the video.

Of course when a song gets that ratchet and goes that viral, sooner or later rumours are bound to cling on the video like a tick to a cow. The rumour that has been hard to shake off was claims that the video employed underage girls. A claim that the Pombe bhangi creators have viciously denied

This girl looks so much like the all talented Lupita Nyongo and I took a second closer gaze to distinguish her from the Lupita we all know.

Is she her sister or something? Lupita’s dad should come out clean less he wants to be illuminated on dead beat Kenya as a dad absconding his parental obligations. Anyway just to make matters clear she is not Lupita’s sister or a relative for that matter; I do not even think they are related at all, she is just a perfect look-a-like of Lupita.

Am talking about the girl on the right hand side; her stunning resemblance to Lupita is the one that caught my attention to her. Dark in complexion, killer smile and short groomed hair which are all so typical of the Hollywood star Lupita Nyong’o are also the physical description of this girl. Guess what her name is?

Controversial is the word… and Caroline Mutoko is the name!

Caroline Mutoko has ruled the airwaves for the last 10 or more years. From Capital FM to Kiss 100 her voice roared like a lionness attracting a male mate in the jungle.
The ‘Radio Queen’ was so full of herself in what she termed as exercising the strength that a woman posses within a chauvinistic state. Yes, chauvinistic is the word. Kenyan is ‘known and believed’ to be a male dominated state, from politics to entertainment, church to kindergaten, office to the farm.

To Mutoko and many more women who believe in equality and gender parity, this would never happen. Well and good. Nobody wants to see women being intimidated and subjected to uncalled for treatment. Absolutely nobody.
Infact we Kenyan men care for women so much that the women themselves cannot  realize this!
Back to Mutoko’s story.
A recent research that was exclusively covered by Ghafla Kenya revealed that Mutoko is among the most  HATED women in Kenya! Jeez…I dont even want to imagine how one feels when they realize they are hate. I mean nobody wants to be hated. Everybody deserves love, unconditional love for that matter!
It’s so appalling and logic-battering when a renowned radio personality with ‘excellent prowess’ in the industry turns out to be among the most hated WOMEN in the country.
Oo again! Are women hated? Or rather, should women be hated? Hell NOOOOO! How do you even start hating a woman especially when you are a man? So how comes then that a whooping number of Kenyans put Caroline Mutoko in the same basket with ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensuda! 

These and many more questions will make part of Kenyan history and I want to believe they will linger on and on as long as Caroline Mutoko exists. Look here, Caroline Mutoko is one woman who just dug her own grave, bought herself a nice coffin and hammered enough nails into it, only the last one was remainining before The Radio Africa management decided to save the worst for the last.
As reported by Ghafla Kenya early on, Mutoko has been moved to a more advanced role in Radio Africa… a senior role!
Now if that’s news then more news is that employees in Radio Africa have been mistreated.
Look, on radio or TV, your listeners are the most esteemed clients. They are the customers who command the highest level of respect and the best services from the presenter in the show.
However, for the last couple of years Caroline Mutoko was on radio, her voice was INTIMIDATING, INSULTING, HARSH, UNAPOLOGETIC and IRRITATING.
She was so full of pride and arrogance, intimidating the passive and active audiences in equal magnitude. She generally underrated listeners and when confronted, she couldn’t even imagine an apology coming her way.
Caroline earned herself the hatred that ranked her among the top ten most hated women of all time in Kenya.  Leaving Kiss 100 is A BIG REPRIEVE to the masses! It Is more of A WIN than it is A LOSS!
Who would care even if she faced  a sack! Not Me!
You remember the altercation she had with Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko? That itself accelerated the hatred graph.

I mean, Sonko is a man of the people! How do you take to a national radio to insult MTU WA WATU??? To worsen it all, you attack a man of the people from his strongest point! When Sonko helps people, you don’t call that giving out handouts!!

How many handouts have you given yourself?

Oo! Mutoko is single and contented! This perhaps justifies the fact that her hatred for men runs deep down her spine! After all, which man can put up with a woman with so much aggressive a behaviour!  
With the likes of the ever HILARIOUS SHAFFY WERU and the QUEEN of K24’s The Couples Show, KALEKYE MUMO, expected to take over from Mutoko, Kiss 100 once again is tuneable,  enjoyable and listenable.

The breast ‘insult’ that bloggers made about Vera was rather a tough one that Vera could not digest well and she ultimately come out of her den to defend them and threaten bloggers with litigation.

Wah! Vera is one angry lady now; I mean African Celebrity News has really gotten into her veins. The site was alleging that Vera’s nipples surgery had gone bad and that they were bleeding; this why the vicious Vera wants to sue the writer for libel.

Whoever wrote all those nasty stuff about Vera you better run and run faster because if she catches you; you sure will not only be the guest of the state but I guess Vera herself will work on you because she is SO ANGRY.

Ohh actually the poor Vera does not know who the writer is because it is just a gossip site after all, so probably she cannot sue a ghost writer or can she? Actually I think Vera noticed it too that is why she changed the tone of her voice; “Why on earth would a human being wish someone bad and evil? Don’t you have a heart??? I’m out here try a live peaceful from y’all bloggers always writing shit and you still go ahead and lie so as to make news with my name? Write all u want but NEVER wish someone evil” the furious Vera wrote.

Is she actually pleading! Anyway it is so inhuman to wish anyone such worst stuff; whoever wrote those allegation need to style up and be empathic. How would he/she feel if she was in the same shoes?

Age: 23

Bachelor of Arts & Social Sciences graduate Laveda was born in Dar Es Salaam. She’s single and describes herself as ‘eccentric, loving, caring, simple and fun’. Laveda is the eldest of three children and she has a younger brother and sister. She says her mom is her role model, because she has moulded her over the years and inspired her in different ways ‘through the struggles and joy of life’.

Laveda says her favourite foods are pasta and minced meat, and prawns. She loves to read John Grisham novels and enjoys the music of Shakira, D’Banj, Miriam Makeba, P.Square, Rihanna, Beyonce, Tiwo Savage, Yvonne Chaka Chaka and Brenda Fassie. She’s a mean entertainer herself, she plays the saxophone, sings, acts and dances and thinks she’d make a ‘potential’ presenter. Laveda’s favourite movies include The Notebook, Titanic and Avatar.

She entered Big Brother Hotshots to be a role model and act as a voice for Africa’s youth. Laveda says that viewers can expect ‘massive entertainment’ from her and that if she wins, she’ll give her mom some money, ‘surprise disadvantaged children’, travel and invest the rest.

JJ calls himself ‘an entertainer’ on the back of his work as a ‘singer, rapper, actor, songwriter and director’. His inspiration behind entering Big Brother Hotshots is the platform the show provides. ‘It’s a necessary foundation for me to be able to produce my own music even if I don’t win the money,’ he says.

He says that viewers can expect to be entertained, and that they’ll also have a gym partner every morning. If he wins the money, he’ll fix up his parents’ house, invest in his career by working n his first international album and give some money to charity.

JJ loves Italian and Japanese food, his favourite book is Shakespeare’s Macbeth and his favourite TV show is Elementary. His favourite musicians are JP Cooper, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and MiCasa’s J.Something. His all-time favourite films are 300, The Vow and American Gangster, with his favourite actor, Denzel Washington.

He believes that the best thing about Africa is that ‘the people are all full of life’. His favourite place in Zimbabwe is Inyaga, and outside it, Manchester in England, ‘home of the greatest football club and where I found my feet and my passion’, he says.

Do not be fooled by the struggle braids and seemingly laid back persona, RaJayJayof the Pombe/Bhangi fame is quite the opulent lad.

At least according to this video he posted online. In what looks like the Kenyan Version of MTV Cribs, Rajay Jay engages us in session of freestyle before ‘hallaing’ at a lady called Michelle whom he refers to as his ‘bi*@!’Christ!

He informs us that the crib is where his next video will be shot. Hmm can’t wait for it, will it be better than Pombe/Bhangi or did Pombe/Bhangi get a lucky break?

NINTH Guy is Samuel Majani. Prefers to be called Baba Ghafla…Or Mista Majani. Majani is the FOUNDER of Ghafla. BEST Boss in the World! And HE IS only 24! Yes,24! Daaaaaammmmmn! Its illegal to be making all this mullah ONLY at 24! But then again…..Majani’s story is quite simple…He dropped out of college because he couldn’t handle masomo na assignments. And then started a blog for other Kenyans who couldn’t handle masomo and assignments too. Otherwise known as MUSICIANS. Haha. Majani lives in Gachie…In his bungalow surrounded by 4 dogs and 16 cats. Like an old,divorced pensioner in West Germany. Majani’s favorite food is …Wait for it…MANGOES! Whaaaat???!!!?? Who sits down and decides to make mangoes his favorite dish?? Who cursed You when You were little?? Majani’s fave hobbies is EXERCISING. Yaani, hitting the gym. And, clearly, its NOT working…If we can judge by the progress of his body. Talks like a Motorboat in a South Mugirango Dam. Charles lives in Ruaka..Right next to Runda Estate…My Friend,If YOU CANNOT afford to actually LIVE IN RUNDA Estate,MOVE out of the Neighborhood!! Sio kujificha kwa Majirani. Nyarongi’s fave dish is Ugali and Chicken! Eish! Same dish in a whole damn Office! We should all get married to each other! Nyarongi is 25 Years Old…and counts Tupac Shakur as his best musician Worldwide. Get over it, already! Tupac is DEAD! Like everybody else in this love-forsaken office,Nyarongi is SINGLE. And his hobbies include swimming and frisbee. Frisbee?? How do You expect to find a girlfriend while playing Frisbee?? Nyarongi has a crush on Huddah Monroe. Am I surprised?? NO! Nyarongi is the TECHNICAL MANAGER at Ghafla.

ELEVENTH guy is Victor Omega. At first I thought Omega was his nickname..turns out it IS HIS REAL name! Wooooiii. You know You are screwed when You end up being named after a watch company. Omega lives in Kahawa Wendani…Part of the crew that was blocking Thika Highway for hours protesting the release of Officer Katitu. Omega loves Madondo. Just Madondo. He eats Madondo plain kama jamaa wa Mjengo. Omega is in his mid twenties…Or better still,Old enough to end up in random clubs and squeeze himself under socialites’ cellulites. Omega is single..Like Everybody else! Omega spends 49 hours per day…smiling. At nothing. No wonder he is SINGLE. No girl wants a dude who smiles at nothing…He could be planning anything…Including cutting You up and chewing up Your small intestines and then using Your open skull as his soup bowl. His fave arist is Passenger. Passenger?? Who the croomplashcka is Passenger???! And when asked asked about his crush…He said “Definately NOT Risper Faith…” so that basically means,RISPER FAITH! Omega is a SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER at Ghafla.

TWELFTH guy is Irari Ngugi. Ngugi lives in Kikuyu. I wouldn’t expect him to live in ANY OTHER hood. With a name like Irari. Or Ngugi. Irari is the silent criminal…Silent,calculating,observant and a secret plotter. Irari can write too…Real interestingly. And provocatively. Irari is SINGLE. Did I even have to say that??? Clearly,there is NO WAY You can have a girlfriend with a pose like that! Single dudes allover this place like Syrian fighters in Baghdad. Get women,For Christssakes! Irari has several fave artists..among them is Jay Z,Kendrick Lamar and a woman called Jill Scott. Jill Scott, by the way, is the Atwoli version of America. Hajawai chanua nywele.  His fave dish is the oft-mentioned Ugali,sukuma (phew) and beef. Classic bachelor dish. Even a rat can fix that meal. THIRTEENTH guy is Kevin Njuguna. Or Kevo. Kevo NEVER says a word. Like,NEVER. He is sooo damn silent we have to shake him time after time to confirm whether he is still alive! He sits at the far end of the office…so engrossed in his work..He could explode any minute. Kevo is a cool guy. Real cool and decorous. Interestingly,Kevo likes partying and investing. Investing ,Yes. Partying?? Well…I need to see him partying to believe him. He lives in what he calls the “Kasarani Suburb”. Wait a minute Mr. Party Guy,Did You just call Kasarani a surburb?? NO WAY! STOP flattering Your town. Its just Kasarani. Nothing more. Nothing less. Kevo’s fave dish is Nyama choma. YEEEEAYYYY!!!! Finally,One Ghafla employee with a reasonable fave dish! Everyone else be like, ” Ugali Kuku…Ugali Kuku…Ugali Kuku…Blah blah blah…” Like a bunch of wannabe Luhyas. Kevo is 25. Oa,My friend. His fave artist is Bob Marley. God Bless You,Kevo. God Bless You. FOURTEENTH person is a lady….Phyllis Wangechi. Phyllis is another silent cat. She creeps into the office so soundlessly You wont know she is there until You actually check. She actually sits right at the door…That means she can sneak in,spend 40 hours and sneak out and You wouldn’t even see her! She’s behaves like a female tiger hunting mongooses in a thick Indian forest…so slick. And inaudible. Phyllis loves fashion and partying…Fashion,I agree. Partying?? I have to see her to BELIEVE. Not unless she is talking of party za watoto wa jirani. Talking of Jirani,Phyllis lives in Langata. Mtaa wa Baba. Her fave FOOD is ice cream. Yes,Ice cream! You can recover from Your shock now. Phyllis is in her mid-twenties. Whatever that means. And she has a MAJOR Crush on a Kenyan ninja named….Chicco Lucarrelli. Whoa! Never heard of such a dude! FIFTEENTH person is another lady…called Sheila Kanja. Kanja Kanja! Where do I start?? Kanja, like her friend Phyllis, is another calculating hunting tiger. She NEVER SAYS A WORD. NEVER EVER! At first I thought she was dumb…Until she sneezed. And whispered “Excuse Me”. Sheila speaks a minimum of 12 words per day. Unlike Sue. Or Tonny. Both of whom speak a minimum of 23 words in a split second! Sue doesn’t even have to open her mouth to speak. She can speak while still silent! Inaitangwa talanta. Haha.  Sheila is in her mid-twenties and she loves Food,partying,fashion,movies and adventure. Maybe she should try an adventure called SPEAKING! Sheila is taken and says that the list of the artists’ she adores is wayyy tooo long. Sheila is still stuck on her University crush ,a ninja called Meshark Nakolo who is probably married by now…With sixteen multi-cultural kids. And two Deadbeat mentions on Facebook. Sheila handles the Customer Care services at Ghafla.

Last person is Salim Bakar. Salim….Hmmm Have I ever heard him talk?? NO. Does he have a mouth?? I hope. Salim is in his 20’s. And he loves photography and traveling…Yes,traveling to alien lands where people DON’T talk. Or look at him. Haha. Salim loves chicken and pilau. Phew! Pilau is a welcome break. In an office sooo obsessed with Ugali. Salim is NOT dating…You expected that,No?? Salim’s fave artist is Papoose…Or Julio Eglisias. Salim,You are a REAL MAN. Sikika Sasa is a show on KTN hosted by the famous Jeff Koinange which is meant for the members of the general public to grill their leaders on matters devolution in the country. The show is currently trending on twitter but the question asked is why?

Oh my! Jeff Koinange sure knows how to ask leaders those intriguing questions what would make our leader armpits’ sweat as they think for the appropriate answer to respond with. Nairobi’s governor Evans Kidero and Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru were at the receiving end as the audience were launching avalanche of questions to them.

Dead Beat Kenya is what many men don’t want to hear. Ironically, the page that has aroused mixed reactions among Kenyans is going so viral that it has forced its way to international media houses.

At first it was BBC, and now CNN.

The world now seems to know what Kenyan men and women who are accused of absconding parental duty are going through.

The page has, however, faced outrage from the accused parties with others threatening to seek legal redress against the manager of the page.

It’s believed that Jackson Njeru, the founder of the controversial page, is under pressure to get rid of the page as it is seen as being defamatory and untrue.

As the page gains more and more fame, Kenyans are eager to know what happens next now that the exposed have gone to court to have it dismantled; the latest being a Kiambu MCA who was accused of being a dead beat dad despite swimming in massive wealth.
