The country is mourning; from Ghafla offices to the villages where families lost their loved ones, everybody is in a sombre mood; that is for those who really know the pain of losing their loved ones.

As empty rhetoric from those supposed to ensure security for Kenyans becomes the order of the day, activists led by Kakamega County Senator Dr. Boni Khalwale, who calls himself Boni Mtetezi, have promised to stage demonstrations along Harambee Avenue to protest the rising levels of insecurity in Kenya.

28 innocent Kenyans faced the brutality of Alshaabab insurgents in Mandera, who ambushed the bus they were travelling in, paraded Christians and short them at close range, then fled to Somalia, thanks to the porous Kenyan border with the conflict laden state.

Pressure has been piling on Inspector General of Police, David Kimaiyo and his counterpart, Cabinet Secretary for Internal Security Joseph Ole Lenku to resign from their seats because they are believed to fail in their duties and this is among the reasons the demonstrations have been scheduled for tomorrow.

It can be remembered that Harambee Avenue hosts majority of the government offices including that of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto among others.

Other activists to stage the demonstrations include Boniface Mwangi, Okiya Omtatah, Betty Waitherero, Leone Igwee among others.

Khalwale is among the opposition leaders in Kenya known to vigorously rub shoulders with the Jubilee government over its activities.

The bodies of the slain Kenyans are lying in Chiromo mortuary where they were flown to on Saturday evening and families, relatives and friends were allowed to identify their loved ones on Sunday.

May the soul of Dominic Omae, my classmate and close friend, and those of other 27 Kenyans rest in peace.

Thus contradicting themselves as 6 years ago, the daily reported that the said ‘self-made woman was an accountant who fleeced Kshs 35 million from an oil company.

She appeared on Daily Nation newspaper 6 years ago accused of stealing Ksh 35 million. Today, the same newspaper lying to us how she magically made her money in business. Macharia Franjes Gaitho Murithi Mutiga we are not fools.

Atelka was last seen on 22nd November, Saturday 4pm at South Civo. He was dressed in a yellow T-Shirt, blue pair of jeans trousers, and blue shoes.
We reached out to the father who confirmed that the boy had gone missing and was yet to be found so any help from the public to find the boy would be welcome.

As if that was not enough, Citizen TV has once again eloped with KTN’s talented reporter.

Sources privy to Ghafla Kenya say that Wilkister Nyabwa, one of KTN’s most revered human interest stories reporter is on her way from Mombasa Road to Dennis Pritt road in Hulingham, where she will be prying her trade from.

After astounding services to KTN, Nyabwa, an established reporter in Kenya, has called it a day in the Mombasa Road-based media house and now she is on a mission to start new life with Citizen TV.

It is believed that after revered journalist Alex Chamwada called it a day at Citizen TV after two decades of dedicated journalism, RMS was in a mission to replace the celebrated anchor and they therefore quickly rushed for KTN’s Asher Mwilu and Sam Agina.

However, the two repelled RMS’ advances and this prompted the Hulingham-based media house to tempt Wilkister Nyabwa with heavy perks, effectively landing her services.

It is also reported that Nakuru-based SG Limited photojournalist has been poached too.

Wilkister is said to have held a farewell party with friends at SG limited offices and officially bid them bye.

Ghafla Kenya sort to seek Nyabwa’s comment on this and all she could repeatedly say is “no comment”. She said she had nothing to comment about.

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko is the latest casualty of the rogue hackers who have gone from account to account, hacking celebrities’ accounts and owning them up, subsequently posting anything they want, leaving the public to believe it is the user who is posting.

Sonko’s twitter account was hacked last weekend and funny posts tickled down the handle, leaving his followers perplexed and wondering what their Senator was up to.

However, on learning this, Sonko quickly took to his facebook page to denounce the tweets and warned that his account had been hacked and that people should ignore everything tweeted.

Controversial blogger, Dikembe Disembe, has, however, refused to accept that Sonko’s account was hacked. Instead, Dikembe has gone ahead to bash Sonko for turning against Inspector General of Police, David Kimaiyo, days after he astoundingly defended him when Kenyans demanded for his resignation.

Dikembe, on his facebook page, has posted some of Sonko’s tweets and mocked the Senator for being a hypocrite.

This is what he posted:

“Senator Sonko now insults IG Kimaiyo but when we called for national dialogue he was among the police officers who were deployed to guard state house, plunging the country in unnecessary political rhetoric of power grab. He even put on police uniform and helmet.”

 

I am sure we have all watched that clip of a young girl cruelly being beaten by their house help.

The clip starts with a house girl feeding the little one who seems to have a problem with eating the food which looks like mashed paw papaw or pumpkin. The maid then descends on the poor child with slaps amidst the toddlers wailing.

A few minutes later it looks like the child is trying not to throw up but unfortunately throws up. The house help who I think should be put in jail then hurled the hapless child on the floor like a rag doll, picked up a torch and beat the screaming child. And that was not it, the shameless house girl who has now been identified as Jolly Tumuhiirwe then stepped on the child, kicked her on the head as she lay sprawled on the floor.

Ah! Hackers! Hackers! Hackers! These are people who went to school, spent their parents resources to learn how to give others sleepless nights.

Well, the latest among those who are facing the wrath of these criminal geniuses is Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi sonko whose twitter handle has been hacked.

Many of his followers were taken aback by the tweets that tickled down their accounts from Sonko, tweets that looked controversial.

Some tweets were critically criticising and hurling insults at top security officials in the country and the government at large, which Sonko adamantly supports.

After learning of this heinous act by hackers, Sonko quickly took to his facebook page to bash all the tweets from his account and warned his followers against taking seriously what they received from his twitter handle.

Sonko said that his twitter handle was hacked and he is trying his best to reclaim the handle from the hackers. This is what he updated on his facebook account:

“Kindly ignore all tweets coming from my twitter account..It was hacked yesterday am doing all I can to get it back..Sorry for any inconvenience.”

A few weeks ago Kenyan fans were treated to a rude shock after 2chainz allegedly missed his flight and ended up missing what would have been the biggest rap gig off all time done on Kenyan soil.  The Jameson Party Live

The new story is that the consumer federation of Kenya  tweeted earlier on, quoting that Jameson has no right to hold on to any monies owed to the revelers for a failed event, Jameson had promised that 2chainz was still going to come on 12 December where he would perform alongside artistes who would be revealed prior to the concert. Jameson therefore requested all who had paid to hold to their tickets quoting that they would not have to pay again come December 12. 

It seems however that some fans have not been content with the new arrangement and have chosen to go ask for their money. Which Jameson has returned. does this mean that 2chainz might not be coming after all?

 

 

Being nominated for a major continental award is no mean feat for an individual, considering the number of blogs created each, the expansion of knowledge thanks to technological developments and the fact that the world has become more of a global village where ideas fly quicker than before and information is shared faster than it used to be early on.

Nominees for the award of the African Blogger of the Year were announced two days ago and among them is a Kenyan writer facing off with his compatriots and others from Nigeria and other countries within the continent.

Writer Philip Etemesi, a self-proclaimed sheriff of the town who almost every ardent reader has come across his stories, articles and conversations is in the nominees list.

From Capital to Mwalii Kenya, Etemesi has remained one of the most astute, consistent and trustworthy writers of our time. His achievements in informing Kenyans are much speakable but will need the rest of your day to expound. I have, however, gathered enough energy to let you know why Philip Etemesi deserves this award more than any other nominee.

He started off as a writer with Capital. Capital, as we all know is an established media house that has been in this industry for years. At Capital, Etemesi wrote for Capital Campus, a section that dealt with campus news and events as they unfolded.

Here, an ardent reader will vividly remember how Etemesi brought the inside stories of campus life; how university students went about their activities within and without campus, helping those who knew nothing about campus life to have a glimpse of the same.

He did opinion pieces that a campus student would not want to miss. He interviewed campus students, revealed the one-day relationships that divine most campus students, the bitter truth of how loans from the government made some students crazy and how those who had been deprived of freedom by their parents and guardians spoiled themselves after realizing they had all the freedom they were craving.

I remember vividly of a story Etemesi did on how a housekeeper in Campus ruined a student’s Valentines day. That was one of the many catchy pieces Etemesi did. In a nutshell, Etemesi made all of us know what campus was exactly made of.

It is a relationship and creative writing blog that has almost all solutions to your relationship disturbances. Etemesi, together with Majani, were the architects of this blog after keenly studying the relationship landscape in Kenya and beyond.

To date, almost four months down the line, Mwalii Kenya is the only true and reliable relationships blog standing. With the scintillating revelations and creativity by Etemesi, the blog has over 700,000 users, with over 220,000 likes on its Facebook Page.

Two Kenyans Chris Kirubi and Nancy Muthoni have been featured by international media CCN on their program ‘Marketplace Africa’.

With a tremendous growth witnessed in the country’s real estate market, CNN’s Isa Soares took a closer look in the growing sector with a special interest in Nairobi’s hottest properties, ‘Two Rivers’ development, which will house the largest mall in Sub-Saharan Africa outside of South Africa.

Chris Kirubi, one of the investors in ‘Two Rivers’ development was approached by Soares, he wanted to know more about the project.“Two Rivers portrays that Kenya is becoming of age and is able to take on bigger projects and we hope that as we lead the way, others will follow. We believe Kenyan’s deserve more…Our intention is that once people walk into the mall, they do not leave unless they are going home to sleep” Kirubi told Soares.

Nancy Muthoni, Executive Producer and host of KTN’s program ‘The Property Show’ was also a person of interest to CNN’s ‘Marketplace Africa’. Having observed a lack of knowledge around the process of buying homes in Kenya, she decided to create the program to provide viewers with the A, B, C of home ownership.

The two were featured on CNN’s ‘Marketplace Africa”, the program that covers the macro trends impacting the region and also focuses on the continent’s key industries and corporations.

China is normally associated with fake goods that find their way into Kenya where its market is almost the biggest in the world.

From mobile phones to fashion to vehicles, the Asian nation is well known for copying original products and coming up with what looks like the original.

This time round they have angered the Land Rover manufacturing company by coming up with a brand that looks exactly like Range Rover Evoque, but with a different name, Land Wind X7, which again slightly differs with the original land rover.

It will not take long before we see this copy of Range Rover Evoque cruising our roads as China’s products easily find their way into Kenya.

We have witnessed such scenes many times especially when it comes to the death of a prominent person. Which scenes am I talking about? The scenes where exes, illegitimate children and unheard of wives crawl out of the woodwork.

This scene was witnessed a Lee Funeral home when a woman claiming to be Kajwang’s wife was kicked out unceremoniously by Kajwang’s family from Lee Funeral home where she had come to view the body of the late Kajwang.

The woman known as Faith Vivian Kajwang’, had angrily burst into the funeral home claiming that she had a right to view the body, she was accompanied by  her daughter, 18-year-old Christine Otieno.She also accused Kajwang’s first wife Rose, of excluding her from the funeral arrangements.

I made a follow up by calling some of my informers who still work at GBS,  X  would tell me that the management had the article but had not acted upon it, if anything  the situation had worsened. Salaries  have still not been paid since August and from the look of things the management has no intention of making the payments soon, or ever.

The GBS directors have laid down rules that limit the workers from any kind of action, my sources reveal that whoever demands for pay is fired immediately and without notice. The junior African managers are also help in contempt by the Korean Directors,they are humiliated openly and are sometimes slapped before their juniors.

GBS has made it impossible for its workers to have a voice. The workers are fired at will perpetuating an age old custom of theirs, firing and hiring at will while making the same vague promises to the new recruits.

Owing to the state of unemployment in the country, the workers have chosen to work subserviently hoping for a better day, some have resorted to getting loans with a promise that they will pay as soon as GBS pays their dues. Four Months later, GBS Hasn’t paid, and Won’t pay until someone takes action.

Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko is a man of many words. He likes making news whenever he has an opportunity.

Despite being one of the biggest and most powerful DJS in Kenya, DJ Pinye seems to shun the glare of publicity.

He is one of the few DJs who keep a low profile and it’s really difficult to see his Name plastered on any blog, tabloid or weekly pull-out. This was until recently when Papa Dennis’ disgruntled team accused Pinye of being a ‘stumbling block to Music careers.’

This was after he snubbed ‘Injili’ by Papa Dennis despite it receiving favorable airplay on Trace TV, Channel O and even NTV Uganda’s The Beat.

An opinion that was echoed by ‘Banjuka ‘hit-maker DNA who claimed that Pinye had also declined to play ‘Banjuka’ when it first came out.

W called the man in the middle of all this drama, DJ Pinye who seemed uncomfortable that the spotlight had been turned on him.

Pinye informed us that he didn’t have much to say on the issue except that he had told Pap Dennis all he needed to tell him in Regard to the video. For those who missed it, Pinye had told Papa Dennis that his video was not up to par.

Former Classic FM’s radio presenter Ciku Muiruri narrates how she narrowly escaped from the jaws of agitated men who wanted to strip her.

With incidents of women stripping appearing to be on the rise, more women have come out to condemn the vice and even share their own personal stories regarding the same. Ciku Muiruri has shared her story and she discloses just how she managed to evade a mob that wanted to strip her.

She was only twenty years old then, she was going to Thika when she found herself in the enemy’s territory. Her black and white skirt with a slit at the back had sold her out, suddenly she attracted the attention of hungry carnivorous predators. Matatu drivers and touts were slowly getting agitated, they needed to act very quickly.

While they were stilling swarming up trying to figure out how they would launch their attack on the prey that had just presented itself within their grasp, Ciku seized the golden opportunity and took to her heels towards a hotel that was a few meters ahead. Sensing their victim was slipping, the mob sprinted in hot pursuit of Ciku.

Even before she reached the hotel, a car popped up, a lady driving it quickly waved signaling her to rush in. The two drove off leaving the mob cursing the nice lady who had abruptly disrupted their plans to feast on Ciku.
