Robert Alai Terms Female MPs Pro-Thong And Corrupt. See Why

The stripping of women debate found its way into parliament and it needed the intervention of the sitting speaker to cool down tempers that were escalating.

Some MPs had to be sent out after they could not control themselves.

However, female MPs seemed to be totally irritated by their male counterparts who disagreed with them over the correct dressing mode that should be adopted in the country.

Mbita MP, Millie Mabona, in particular and her female counterparts shouted down every effort made by their male colleagues who tried to defend the strippers.

This is why blogger Robert Alai has expressed his disgust at the likes of Mabona and her female colleagues who shouted down male MPs who tried to make their points clear.

Alai has labelled the female MPs pro-thong and corrupt.

It can be remembered that Alai is among the few who are strongly opposed to skimpy dressing by women. He has been heard supporting stripping of skimpily dressed women despite receiving massive criticism.

Here is what Alai said about the MPs:

alai

“Tell the pro-thong parliamentarians that shouting down someone because he disagrees with them is corruption. The pro-thong group led by Millie Mabona and Shebesh have no argument they can bank on. It is all shouting and sabotaging those who don’t agree with them. I am proud of Irungu Khangata and Mwaura M Isaac. You were the voice of reason in parliament. ‪#‎NudityIsNotMyChoice‬”

Hey? Here is A Throwback Photo That Couldn’t Wait Till Thursday!!

Why wait for two more days to post this TBT while I could post it on Tuesday(today) and still look cool? (insert lots of black American accent here)

I was going through my business of the day, which includes staring at a computer screen for hours and just grinning sheepishly at Facebook drama, a guy lost a Mama to another guy, so they are tearing at each other.. etcetera etcetera.

That is not enough though, there are a couple of internet freaks who really kill me (figuratively) They hog all those sweet, thought of posts, they post merchandise and continue with the tell tale whining.

Are you interested in internet marketing? Do you want to work from home and earn 5k a week?

I scratch my head furiously, disturbed at the new level of cyber  con artistry. What happened to the good old days, when hawkers would run the streets with a twaddle of City council close at heel?

My reverie is interrupted by this photo.

I Know a Couple of Men Have Been Misbehaving but Branding Kenyan Men as Lesser Beings to Gorillas Is Outright Wrong Chweya, No! #MyDressMyChoice

Being the editor, most of my time is spent perusing the numerous articles, separating the chaff from the wheat and ensuring you’re served a full cup when it comes to drawing your reading pleasure. Yesterday it was business as usual until I came across something very intriguing, something so mind boggling that it knocked me off my feet and threw me in a haze.

It was an article by one Edward Chweya condemning Kenyan men to the dungeons of ineptness comparing them to Gorillas; actually referring to them as lesser beings. While Kenyan Men Strip And Harass Ladies, This Is What A Gorilla Did To A Lady In Gabon

Now that was bold, really bold. I know some men have been going around committing all manner of heinous acts but still that doesn’t warrant you to compare us to baboons. Let me shock you by telling you that majority of us are gentlemen who wear colognes( I can understand the feeling of cuddling with a man with smelly armpits), respect women and treat them like queens; encourage them to pursue their dreams and once in a while allow them to walk around without panties(coughs). So comparing us to Gorillas? No No now that’s just crossing the line.

what_meme.jpg

But I don’t blame you. You simply jumped on a bandwagon and advocated for a cause which I assume you found quite enthralling. Not that I’m disputing it as undressing women is outright shameless and doesn’t have a place in modern day society. What I have a problem with is the way you generalized the whole matter. Like one James George Frazer once said, “The propensity to excessive simplification is indeed natural to the mind of man, since it is only by abstraction and generalisation, which necessarily imply the neglect of a multitude of particulars, that he can stretch his puny faculties so as to embrace a minute portion of the illimitable vastness of the universe. But if the propensity is natural and even inevitable, it is nevertheless fraught with peril, since it is apt to narrow and falsify our conception of any subject under investigation.”

And he was a smart one this one as he went ahead to offer a solution to this unfortunate scenario. He suggested that “we endeavour to broaden our views by taking account of a wide range of facts and possibilities; and when we have done so to the utmost of our power, we must still remember that from the very nature of things our ideas fall immeasurably short of the reality.” And what exactly is the reality? Is it what you brought out in your article? I honestly think not.

read_a_book.jpg

You went ahead to give a couple more of examples of how primeval we were. What specifically caught my eye was how you seemed disgusted by the habit of men urinating and carrying out natural habits in public. The word here is NATURAL and I disagree that there is really much you can do about something that comes naturally. As a matter of fact, this portrays Kenyan men as open, open to many things I suppose. And can you really compare urinating in public to sexual molestation?

And what has this got to do with love as you blatantly claimed that Kenyan men don’t love their women? Weren’t we the same people who stood beside them in times of despair and fully supported them when a few barbarians went on a stripping rampage? I’m very disappointed with your utterations considering some of your colleagues threw their dignities to the dogs and donned dresses just to show their solidarity.

tony.jpg

And I agree that some men batter their wives which is disgusting and appalling but exactly how many? Just a few rotten apples and you’re already drawing conclusions? What about those men that are constantly battered emotionally and even physically but still hold their head up high just to maintain sanity in the family and uphold the valuable tenets that define manhood? Why didn’t you think about them before penning your article?

Why aren’t you thinking about the men who work tirelessly to ensure their households have a meal every single day and a trip to the coast at least every December? What happened to shunning down negativity and always thinking positive?

You mentioned how a female friend of yours banished Kenyan men and swore to instead date a Gorilla (what’s up with you, your friends and Gorillas by the way) and how this insult sent chills down your spine. Why did you just sit there and listen? Wouldn’t have made sense if you took the time to enlighten her that there are actually decent men still left; your male colleagues perhaps who are languishing in the helms of loneliness and only seeking solitude from their left hands?

In simple what I’m saying is compare us to anything, anything but not Gorillas in Gabon.

Is Victoria Kimani Secretly Harbouring a Nigerian Accent? The Truth Will Leave You Stunned

Who thought Nigerians could be this influential, I bet no one expected Victoria Kimani to be affected by Nigerian pidgin this fast.

Having stayed in America for a considerable period of time to learn and speak the American English fluently (I mean not going to the airport and coming back with an American accent), it is hard to believe Nigerian pidgin could affect Kenyan songstress Victoria Kimani.

She moved to Nigeria to boost her music career, Nigerians are dominating African music showbiz so she opted to move to Nairaland, that way her music would have a bigger reach continentally. A well calculated move but one thing she didn’t anticipate, Nigeria would totally change her, even her music style has changed, she now sings with Nigerian accent. (Guess she couldn’t live a lie)

Oops! Did I just say Victoria now sings with a funny Nigerian English? Yes, the songbird has released a new track singing with Nigerian accent full blast. Dubbed Show, the song is another party track that the sexy Singer has released following the success of the hit Prokoto featuring Diamond Platnumz and Ommy Dimpoz.

Show comes with a cool groovy tune that has this mature flow to it, it also doesn’t fail to take you to the dance floor. Victoria Kimani does an amazing job with her vocals on an overall excellent beat by Tekno Miles. This could easily be the party jam of the season. Check out the song here:

Former Citizen TV Anchor Reveals What He Smoked When He Was Growing Up In Kibera Slums

Former Citizen TV news anchor Johnson Mwakazi has revealed what he went though during his days as he grew up in Kibera slums.

Speaking during the launch of a campaign dubbed Mothers Against Drug Abuse (MADA) in Kiambu County, Mwakazi revealed that as a young boy growing up in Kibera slums, he was exposed to dangerous drugs like Marijuana and many other dangerous drugs.

This means that Kibera slums is one of the areas in Kenya where drug use and abuse is rampant.

Mwakazi left Citizen TV a few months ago and joined Fountain Media Group as the Editorial Director, after amassing massive following due to his deep voice and polite manner of presenting news.

Here is what Fountain Media Group (FMG), Mwakazi’s new station posted about his speech a few days ago:

They Try But Fail. This Is Why Kenyan Secular Female Singers Have, Do Not And Will Never Make It In The Industry (Part 2)

Continued from here: https://www.ghafla.co.ke/news/music/item/26644-they-try-but-fail-this-is-why-kenyan-secular-female-singers-have-do-not-and-will-never-make-it-in-the-industry

Someone said that shallow brooks dry quick, empty debes make the loudest noise and that a liar needs the smartest of minds and a very clear memory. So is borrow and morrow that rhyme so well with sorrow.

Female singers in Kenya tend to be more interested in beauty than their music career. Some plunge themselves into singing to showcase not their talent but what their mamas gave them. The curvaceous contours, the protruding butts, the coloured faces; faces coloured with crown paints meant for wood, fashion and many other things that are anti-singing. As one guy said, serving two masters is the hardest thing one can do. Singing and beauty showcasing are water and paraffin to be precise.

You may argue that some have managed to do so but trying this in Kenya is like trying to walk on water because Jesus and Peter did.

Lack of creativity is another factor. Creativity is the most important aspect for a singer. If you are not creative, then singing is not your thing. You remember Tanzania’s Matonya. He was talented with voice but died musically because he lacked creativity. He no longer sings. And if he does, I bet he sings for his brothers and relatives.

Recently, Avril released a single named Nikimuona. Before its release, Avril had publicised the song to an extent that we thought it could turn out to be a hit. Awe unto us for thinking so. Nikimuona to date is one of the worst songs I have ever heard.

avril

Avril

The song lacks creativity from the word go, tries to force feelings on us and to make it worse, some lines have been copied from somebody else’s song. And you say you want to compete Avril! You simply can’t.

Avril has been in the industry for so long but every time she releases a single, she turns out to be a big disappointment. Even when Diamond of Tanzania gave her a chance to shine in East Africa and beyond, what Avril did was just to appear in Diamond’s Kesho video. She smiled all the way through the video without uttering a word. That is failure.

By now nikimuona should not be playing in our media. Infact Avril should not have released that song. She is the reason why this article has been drafted.

Other female artists who over time have demonstrated how poor they are in terms of creativity include veterans Amani, Wahu Kagwi, Muthoni the Drummer Queen among others.

For instance how does a singer like Marya go on to sing like,” halo, sishiki simu, sishiki simu…blah blah blah”. Even a two year old can sing that. What is that now! What can you learn from there? While Jay Dee is singing on how to avoid con people Marya is telling us she cannot pick phone calls. Nonsense!

marya

Marya

Love for money has also seen our ladies slumber musically. They are effective when it comes to pursuing money at the expense of their careers. They go to gigs to collect money, not to sell their music and talent. They charge colossal sums of money to perform their poor music.

Others fall in love with rich men to gain materially. I am not saying that Amani dating a Nigeria man is largely because of his money but these are some of the reasons why Amani is no longer the Amani we used to know.

She has put relationships before her music career. Amani no longer releases sweet songs like she used to do a while ago. She is now busy with her West African man. So is Avril with her South African fiancée, if at all they are still dating.

Emmy Kosgey is in Nigeria where she will no longer sing her Kalenjin songs and get the recognition she amassed before following the oga broda.

The likes of Kendi are pathetic. Kendi releases songs after gold-digging a mzungu’s money and then calls herself an independent woman. Kendi for your information Lady Jay Dee has been in a marriage without children for more than 10 years but she has always remained strong and hard-working.

Oh, hardwork is another factor than has facilitated our ladies’ downfall. Our ladies are too lazy to work to work hard and improve their talents. Successful people have always burnt the midnight oil, spent extra time in what they do and dedicated themselves to their work. This, to our ladies is a dream.

Even great footballers like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi work extra hard to be what they are. So is Yemi Alade, Juliana Kanyamozi and Lady Jay Dee.

amani

Amani

But as much as we may lay blame on our ladies, producers, DJs, promoters and managers have also facilitated their donfall. Male producers take advantage of our poor musicians and exploit them to help them record their music. Promoters, DJs, managers too take advantage of these ladies.

When one fails to comply, that spells the end of their career. And if when they comply, they live to regret why they had to sleep with someone to be helped.

That is the society we are in. Our media has also turned against our ladies. Foreign music is the order of the day. 90% of the music played in Kenya is foreign.

That is so devastating. It is so appalling. Unless something is done, our female artistes will live peeping from under the carpent as foreign artistes take centre stage.

They Try But Fail. This Is Why Kenyan Secular Female Singers Have, Do Not And Will Never Make It In The Industry (Part 1)

Someone said that shallow brooks dry quick, empty debes make the loudest noise and that a liar needs the smartest of minds and a very clear memory. So is borrow and morrow that rhyme so well with sorrow.

Before I confuse you further with these cliché phrases, let me make a quick u-turn and start afresh. The Kenyan music industry, especially the secular section of it has seen beautiful singers with inviting figures, curvaceous and contoured bodies and sweet voices bow in with respect and admiration only to fall with a thud and so much shame that many of us have found it difficult to tell this to the world.

Today, I am bold enough to tell it on their phases. It is difficult for a reasonable man to face a lady and tell her her weaknesses, especially in public. However, since I cannot find a proper channel to air my disgust at what our ladies are doing, I am compelled to belch and vomit at them, however in a constructive way, in public.

While the Kenyan gospel industry is trying its best to remain relevant in the world of singing, Kenyan female singers in the secular industry have continuously proved that they are third, fourth or fifth fiddle to their counterparts from East Africa and beyond.

I will start off with the closest examples that we all know. Tanzania’s Lady Jay Dee is a veteran in the music industry in East Africa and beyond. She has a decade or so in her music career and she seems to be stronger each day, each moment.

jaydee

Lady Jay Dee

Her counterpart, Ray C, who is arguably my best songbird in East Africa despite being embroiled in drug abuse scandals, pornography and many more sagas that almost threw her career into limbo, has continued to show signs of her old self; the singing mojo that clearly defined her for long periods showing some flashes after that rehabilitation spearheaded by her president, Jakaya Kikwete.

Many more female artistes from Tanzania keep sprouting and flourishing despite the challenges that they face. They include the likes of Shaa who recently did a collabo with Kenya’s dancehall king Redsan.

Ray-c-12

Ray C

Shaa winning a collabo with Redsan is no mean feat itself. Redsan is an international artist who has done great singles that have not only earned himself a name but also for Kenya. This again shows how hard Tanzanian female singers work to establish a good reputation and name for themselves.

Away from Tanzania where the least of female singers is endless, I take a boat through Lake Victoria to Museveni’s kingdom.

Here, Juliana Kanyamozi is the greatest name in the singing industry. She adds up as a radio queen in her country. She is a songbird to admire. Her music is credibly appealing to the listeners.

kanyamozi

Juliana Kanyamozi

Despite the challenges that come with singing, Juliana has managed to remain strong in the industry. She is among the many Ugandan singers who have overcome the strong tides and manoeuvred through the difficult times. Juliana is a household name not only in Uganda but also in East Africa and beyond.

There are many more female singers from Uganda who have managed to remain relevant for long periods of time and who give their male counterparts a run for their money.

Back to our beloved country Kenya. Who has bewitched our beautiful singers? It is crystal clear that our female artists have failed or are unable to sustain themselves in the music industry.

Those who tried to remain relevant found it hard partly because they lacked the experience to do so and partly because the Kenyan environment is not conducive enough to encourage and nurture their talent.

As much as I may sound more of a hater than a counsellor, it is prudent if you pointed out a female musician from Kenya who came, conquered and remained relevant like the likes of Lady Jay Dee, Ray C and Juliana Kanyamozi. I stand to be corrected if there is any.

To be precise, no Kenyan female artist has managed to sustain herself in the industry, to hit the international scenes like other foreign musicians like Yemi Alade and Tiwa Savage of Nigeria, Jay Dee and Ray C of Tanzania among others.

A closer examination into the reasons why this is the case helped us discover a number of factors behind the collapse of female artists in Kenya. From digging their own graves to the societal factors, the female singing skill is an endangered one in Kenya.

From desire to impress to lack of enough support, kind payments to egocentrism, all are covered here, under one roof.

Breaking:A Lady Allegedly Dies After Being Stripped and Molested Last Evening, We have The Identity Of One Of The Perpetrators

It is all fun and games until a life is lost in what most men would call “disciplining the women”, yesterday an infuriated lot met at Uhuru park to stage a demonstration against Gender-based violence. While the women turned up in large numbers in a bid to liberate themselves, most men chose to watch what they thought was a free show from sidewalks, throwing lewd comments here and there and trashing what was otherwise a justified move by the Nairobi women.

Shortly after the demonstration, a video was uploaded of woman being stripped At Kayole, she is reported to have sustained serious injuries from the same and was rushed to the hospital.

Credible reports have it that she succumbed to injuries earlier today.

It is unfortunate that we have let this madness spiral out of control, we have let our regressive misguided sensibilities dictate the kind of lifestyle we lead. It is sad that people who have no moral up-bringing have taken it to humiliate innocent women to satisfy their perverted lifestyles.

Did we have to watch untill someone died for us to notice that the rain was beating us. unnamed.png

Yesterday this man on the screenshot below, Harry Bayo posted that he was in the party that stripped the late

He would post “Kayole we have done it, #spotthemstripthemnaked Mihango stage around 7.30pm

He would proceed to gloat about his achievements in shaming the women, shortly after the police were notified, his account would go missing, he had deleted it and vanished into thin air… Clever fool.

We have been able to trace him despite his misleading pseudo name.  Ladies and Gentlemen, Here is the man who was among those who stripped two Women at Kayole Yesterday.

Real Name:Haroun Mayienda

Residence: Komarock Estate

He runs M-pesa shops and a host of other odd jobs. He should be arrested immediately! Lets stop Gender based violence once and for all, anyone who knows of his whereabouts please notify the authorities.

Deputy President William Ruto Reveals His Favorite Kenyan Song!

The country’s second in command has openly disclosed the song that makes him want to stand up and shake the bones in his body.

Can you guess which song is DP Ruto’s favorite? Probably it must be one of those Kalenjin songs, right? Wrong ! The deputy president is a man with style and he likes trendy songs. I am not insinuating Kalenjin songs are not trendy; my bad if I sounded so, but I am talking about a song that has a wider reach, one that is well identified with the youth.

Ruto’s favourite song is Jaguar’s One Centimeter, yes, that is the song that interests the deputy president so much. He himself revealed so this morning on Capital FM, Ruto has fallen in love with the hit song.

“Am very humbled kuskia DP Ruto amesema One Centimeter ni one of his favorite songs” revealed a jovial Jaguar over the phone. The singer revealed that’s one of the highest nods he has received for his work. He adds that his fans should look forward to bigger things from him; key being the remix of ‘One Centimeter’ coming out in a month. It will be bigger and better. Watch this space!” Jaguar concludes.

Fashion Diary: Men’s Fashion, How to Rock Black and Red like A Boss!

Men’s Fashion has evolved past the gray flannel suit, bold bursts of color are now acceptable on a Jamaa who knows what he is wearing , while the safest colors for a man to wear would be white and black, no woman loves a man who wears the same colors always, don’t be vague.

Black is one of those colors that every man should have in his closet, any man who cares about how he steps out of the house should invest in black. Lets talk about how you wear black and Red.

Black and Red

This variation in the color hues creates a feeling that you can almost lay your hands on, I have always had a soft spot for Black and red, be it on women’s dresses or the male ensemble, there is something in red, like Je ne sais quoi. something that is technically inexplicable,

Will Smith dons his wild wild best in this brightly hued suit

will smith

This may not be a favorite of the many, especially if the color is predominantly red with flashes and dashes of black thrown in sporadically in shoes and the tie, i don’t know many men who would have the guts to pull this look

Dennis Kaweru of La Giacca rocking a predominatly black outfit with a break in the red Mao blazer.

with the trend on Lace taking the fashion circle by storm, how about this Lace bare back coat. Men couture high fashion black red suit

Lace bare back coat. Men couture male editorial high fashion black red suit

Red Suit

Red a. Black Contrast Knot Silk Tie Set by Steven Land

I'd rock a black shir and socks with that, and some different shoes, but that suit is hot

It doesn’t matter whatever the variation in the red, the results are always pretty much the same “Dapper

A Woman Fearlessly Slaps a Male Molester in The Middle of Nairobi Street! Awesome! #MyDressMyChoice

Never try to argue with a pissed lady especially in the streets of Nairobi, or at least keep a safe distance lest you want a simmering slap on your cheeks.

One man learnt his lesson the hard when he annoyed an already jittered lady demonstrating in the street against the recent tide of women stripping. Any man using his sixth sense would have figured it out men were the reason why the ladies were hitting the streets, pissing them off again was the last thing any man would have thought of doing.

A group of women met some men around archives area who were not pleased by the ladies demonstrations, the two groups faced off with each throwing words around. Shame on you! Shame on you! The ladies sang as they pointed to the group of men. The ladies gained momentum as their chants reverberated across the street making some men to pull backwards and watch from a safe distance.

The men standing from distance started throwing some words to the demonstrating ladies, since their words were not clearly heard by the ladies, a good Samaritan offered to be the mediator between the two warring groups. The man offered to relay the message the men were conveying across and this is what got him into trouble.

“They are asking if you are wearing underwear” the man uttered as he tried to convey the message the other men standing from a safe distance were saying. One lady moved closer to the man as if wanting to listen diligently to what he was saying then out of nowhere, she smeared a blasting slap on the man’s cheek. Writhed in pain, the man turned and walked away perhaps thinking the lady could somersault and unleash some more karate kicks on him. A lesson well learnt!

Check out the video below which was uploaded by activist Boniface Mwangi himself:

People in the United Kingdom React To forceful Stripping of a Woman by Embassava Touts

We gained independence about 51 years ago, but still many women have to deal with blatant disrespect of their bodies such as the case of a woman who was stripped by Embassava touts.

These barbaric acts have caught the eyes of international media and here are some of the reactions from the UK following the stripping of the woman by Embasavva touts.

Lewis, Leicester, United Kingdom-These men are barbaric! So instead of looking the other way because they were apparently offended they decided instead to rip off her clothes and savagely beat her! What kind of backwards country is this?

Alexandra, London, United Kingdom-They kicked her in the genitals! Why are men so afraid of women? Why are some men so vile towards women?

Mr Ex, Kidderminster, United Kingdom- You forget, we here in the UK live in one of the few civilized countries on Earth, most of the world’s population lives to very different standards than us. As a species we are ultimately doomed.

Pebes-A country full of unevolved superstitious and religious apes.

Cheshire, Manchester, United Kingdom- Poor, weak men who are not able to control their sexual urges.

Frooty, London, United Kingdom-All women have the right to wear what they want without the fear of violence or rape. Any man who disagrees with that is not a real man at all.

Tomcat, Midwayup UK, United Kingdom-Weird logic these people use, according to their warped ideas she was wearing an indecent skirt, so they stripped her, now if they’d covered her up it might have make sense apart from the assault that is real ‘men’ don’t hit women for any reason.

Riverqueen, Devon, United Kingdom-Sick to death of giving money to these countries. We don’t help the women at all, just let the barbarism continue. Stop aid per se and help some areas of countries – Plan International is amazing and their help to educate is invaluable. Stop giving it to the already wealthy who do NOTHING to drag their countries into the present.

Louise, UK –Are men really at the mercy of their sexual urges? I’m not having a ‘dig’ I genuinely wonder. The mess they make of their lives; from affairs to rape to divorce etc is unfathomable. Even old men, you see them abroad, in their 70’s paying young women for sex. They often ruin their lives for sex. Testosterone must be such a curse.

MOSTON LAD, MANCHESTER, United Kingdom-Is this just an excuse to violate the woman and expose more of her to “tempt them. ” What a load of fecal matter they are. Also, it will harm their tourist industry. .All of them should be rounded up and imprisoned.

This Is why Kenyan Entertainment Will Keep Falling Flat On It’s Face!

Kenya has a lot of talent, it’s an endless flow of talent but most of these talents do not amount to anything. And I believe the ‘failure to launch’ condition that constantly plagues us is caused by the unbridled copy cat game that goes on.

Case in Point, Real House helps of Kawangware was a show created to give us a hilarious peek into the lives of house helps in Kenya.

It went on to win awards and now Kenyan producers and script writers are bombarding us with constant programs of ‘funny ’mboch programs such as NTV’s Auntie Boss.

The guys behind the Real HousHelps Of Kawangware also produced Hapa Kule news ,a news parody show that gave us hilarious takes on news and other hot topics .Now we have ‘Jameni’ a clone of Hapa Kule and Redykulas. Jameni is a concept that I have seen somewhere probably in Redykulas with the cross-dressers, impersonation of public figures and skits.

Still on the comedy scene, Teacher Wanjiku popularized jokes in an accent and perfected it .Now everyone is doing jokes in accents the only variation is that the jokes are now in Luhya and Somali accents. Then there were the tribal jokes that every ‘comedian’ forces down our throat. And let’s not even forget the unending serving of ‘My Uncle ’Jokes, don’t you have other relatives to misuse in your not-funny-anymore jokes?

Then there was that time when Kiss 100 got a comedian on the show and it became a hit, soon after that EVERYONE had a serious person and a comedian in their breakfast show.

Willy Paul decided to do Bongo music and soon every gospel musician was trying to be Rose Muhando or Diamond. Nigerian music became cool and soon musicians were trying to do their best version of Nigerian songs.

Ghafla is the most famous entertainment blog but as you can now see, there are so many small blogs trying to be Ghafla instead of venturing into something of their own. There can only be one Ghafla. Period.

As demonstrated above, most Kenyans are not original. Whatever they do seems to be a clone of something else and this in my opinion, many trying their hand in entertainment will bite the dust. This is because many have refused to think outside the box and try something new. Something that has not been tried and tested.Nigerians have done their ghost movies and it seems to have worked for them. They have done their music in ethnic languages and we still enjoy their music even if we can barely understand or sing along.

Tanzanians are doing their own thing too and that is why you will see Nigerian music and Tanzanian music on constant replay in Radio stations. These two counties’ music gets even more airplay than our Kenyan music. This is because they are doing what comes naturally to them, they are not trying to sound ‘Brirish’, American or like another country. They are being different, they are being them!

Suzanna Owiyo And Emmy Kosgey Dance Their Bones Out In the Netherlands As They Remix Taunet Nelel

Kenya is well known in the Netherlands, especially the Hague following its leaders’ cases in the International Criminal Court (ICC) where the likes of Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko have caused fracas more than once.

The appearance of Emmy Kosgey and Suzanna Owiyo in an event in Amsterdam appeared an ordinary visit by Kenyans until the two songbirds took to the stage.

It was here that the world was brought to a standstill, thanks to the remix of Emmy Kosgey’s Taunet Nelel song that the two did.

The remix put everyone on their feet, dancing as the two songbirds interchanged and exchanged lyrics, with both Kalenjin and Luo languages taking centre-stage.

suz

It was crystal clear that the two had done enough practice, which made everything very perfect.

Emmy and Suzanna were performing in a Masterpiece concert with the theme: Music above fighting in September this year but the video came out two weeks ago.

It makes the parents the happiest couple on earth after their efforts bear fruits. This exactly what gospel singer Mercy D Lai is going through at the moment after she was blessed with a bouncing baby boy last evening.

Robert Alai Tells Aljazeera Kenyans Are Not Ready to Accept Any Kind of Dressing

While you are busy drumming up support for #MyDressMyChoice, Robert Alai is equally engaged in a different mission trying to water down your support, so far it appears his mojo is working perfectly well.

As controversial as he has always been, social media screamer Robert Alai is indispensable, even when international media Aljazeera was reporting on stripping incident in the country, they had to factor in Alai’s opinion regarding the same. But why when he has openly opposed #MyDressMyChoice?

The reason is simple, #NudityIsNotMyChoice. Yes that is the reason why Aljazeera had to look for Alai. He started an online campaign #NudityIsNotMyChoice which is set to counter the pro-women #MyDressMyChoice. Alai’s hashtag is actively trending on Twitter, it is only a spot down of #MyDressMyChoice.

Talk of the devil having followers then Alai has many, his tag has is filled with comments from folks who are strongly opposing skimpy dressing. “Kenyans are not so much developed to accept any kind of dressing, until the society matures enough, then the argument for infinite freedom is neither the here nor there” Alai told Aljazeera.

Here is the video:

Wahu and Nameless’ Daughter Utters First words. The Words will surprise you

I think it is safe to say that Wahu and Nameless is Kenya’s most beloved and famous couple. Even my grand mum knows them and if my grandma knows you, then you are a big deal!

The couple last year welcomed their young daughter Nyakio and time has really flown. Nameless yesterday shared a milestone in his daughter’s life, her first words.
He shared a video that will make all the ladies catch baby fever and their ovaries do a somersault just from watching how adorable Nyakio is.

The little girl yesterday uttered her first word, and it was not mum as many would expect. Her first words were ‘Daddy’ and she even adamantly refused to utter the word mama choosing to suck her thumb instead.

Even After #MyDressMyChoice Demonstration, Woman gets Stripped And Viciously Beaten In Nairobi

They say you can take the man from the village but you cannot whip the village from the man even if you used the hardest nyahunyo or beat them down with a club.

In the Kenyan scenario, it seems despite being constantly educated about the effects of sexual assault on women, being shown the glaring statistics on sexual assault, some men just cannot be TAMED. Or changed. The demon of chauvinism cannot be exorcised.

After women took to the streets of Nairobi yesterday to demonstrate against the stripping of women, disrespect of women, catcalls and other forms of sexual harassment; a woman was yesterday harassed in Kayole.

https://www.ghafla.co.ke/images/igallery/resized/23101-23200/IMG_0960-23107-600-600-70.jpg

Women gear up for the #mydressmychoice protest

According to Classic 105 news beat, the woman was stripped by a gang of men at the stage in Kayole for dressing ‘indecently’. What’s worse the woman is currently hospitalized after sustaining serious injuries from the incident.

It seems that these men were trying to send a message to Kenyan women, that our bodies are not ours, if we try to fight or challenge the harm inflicted on us by taking to the streets, we shall be put into our place.

I am of the opinion that regardless of this, women and men have got to continue the fight against such decadent behavior. And we should not cower or shush in fear of these perpetrators of gender violence, the fight must go on!

A luta continua!

Rapper Khaligraph Jones Begs For Love. Will He Be Accepted? Find Out Here

Kenyan rappers are releasing single after single, all in the name of entertaining their fans and try to remain relevant in the turbulent Kenyan music industry. From Octopizzo to Khaligraph Jones to Rabbit, in the last few days we have seen tracks after tracks littering the market, thanks to the rappers’ stiff competition among them.

Octopizzo recently released ‘Something For You’, a song that is doing well in the music charts. His closest rival, Khaligraph Jones has also come up with his own single which he has collaborated with Idd Aziz.

In this latest release, Come Dada, Khaligraph and Aziz are looking for love. Here, the two are wooing a certain lady into their hearts, something that is proving hectic for the two.

However, what captivates most is the type of lyrics the two are using. The lyrics seem to be sweet for the lady towards the end of the video, and she probably must have found herself in the box of the two singers.

Here is the new video as done by Idd Aziz and Khaligraph Jones:

After The Mukimo Taunt, Standard Group’s Silas Nyanchwani Takes On Demonstrators For #Mydressmychoice

He made headlines with his jibe at Kikuyus and their Mukimo meal. Almost everybody jumped for his neck including myself.

As if that was not enough, Silas Nyanchwani has clearly come up with what will stir up anger from women and men opposed to stripping of skimpily dressed ladies.

As almost every celebrity is against the stripping, Nyanchwani is clearly opposed to what happened yesterday in the streets of Nairobi where women and some men took to the streets to demonstrate against undressing women.

Two ladies, one in Nairobi and the other in Mombasa were stripped naked by unruly men who felt they were scantily dressed and that they eroded morals and values in society.

In his twitter account, Nyanchwani thinks that there are more important things to demonstrate for, like the Kapedo killings, runaway inflation and the raping of women.

Here is what Nyanchwani tweeted:

To some, this might sound nonsensical but there is pure truth in it. How and why we’ve forgotten the basics of life is the question we should be asking ourselves.

Did Robert Alai Just Get Stripped??

Alai has never been a favorite of the womenfolk, to begin with, he has a face that only a mother would love, secondly, his views on life border on madness and complete insanity.

Lately he has been receiving a dose of the concoction that he dishes out, in exhalted circles, we would say that Alai “got served”

It all begun when he publicly insulted Esther Passaris, calling her loose among other names that only him can write. Then women have not been impressed by his display of sheer bravado,

“Alai has deep seated emotional issues, someone must have touched him in the wrong places when he was growing up..” He is a man who is battling mid-life crisis by choosing to vent his frustrations on guileless people, when  we cannot deny the fact that that he has more guts than any other blogger, he is totally un-justified to take out his emotional issues on random people.

Ian Mugoya’s Ex Has Clearly Moved On. Meet Her New Man (Photos)

Once upon a time Ian Mugoya dated one of the hottest and richest women in Kenya Anerlisa Muigai.

Anerlisa is the daughter of one of Africa’s greatest business women; Tabitha Karanja CEO of Keroche Breweries .But Anerlisa is not all about her mum’s money as she flew out of the nest and started her own company Nero Company Limited the ‘Executive’ mineral water company.

Anerlisa and Ian seemed like the perfect couple, she a successful business woman and he, a flourishing model and media personality. It read like something from a modern day fairytale.

But just like many love stories that came before their time, theirs came to an end and they all moved on. Anerlisa recently showed off her new beau and by the look of things she couldn’t be happier.

Emmy Kosgey Takes #MyDressMyChoice Campaign To Nigeria

After that infamous stripping in downtown Nairobi on a woman by matatu touts, yesterday saw a number of Kenyans take to the streets to protest what they termed as harassment aimed at women by Kenyan men.

The debate has been raging on and on and now it has hit the international headlines.

Yesterday Aljazeera aired these latest developments in Kenya in their prime time news and as reported early by Ghafla Kenya, views and comments have trickled in from almost every corner of the world.

Nigerians have taken to social media to rant at Kenyan men for what they are doing, forgetting that it is not all Kenyan men who strip ladies.

Among those spreading the gospel of #mydressmychoice is gospel singer Emmy Kosgey who got married by a Nigeria man a few months ago.

Emmy has taken to twiitter to post a photo of herself in a dress with the caption #mydressmychoice.

emmy

em

Well we expect this to spread in Nigeria like a bush fire because by now Emmy is much one of them as she is one of us here.

Probably this is the reason Nigerians have had a chance to learn of what is happening here and opted to teach us one or two lessons.

Internationally Recognized Kenyan Teen Pens Down a Poignant Letter to President Uhuru

The Kenyan teen that has been on the spotlight of international media decided to personally contact the commander in chief following recent tide of intolerance against women committed by goons who appears to be “untouchables”.

Sophie Umazi Mvurya the CEO and Founder of I Am Kenyan project found it weird women being attacked during #MyDressMyChoice protest as the police watched. The incident shocked the youngster who was recently ranked among ten most outstanding teens who have changed the world, she used her position and influence to pen down a distressing letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta.

sophiee

The teen highlighted her concerns about the rising impunity in the country and urged the president to take control of the law enforcement officers. Down is the letter Sophie addressed to the president:

Dear Mr. President Uhuru Kenyatta,

Knowing very well that you may not see this post I will go ahead and share it hoping your social media managers will share the message with you.

Your country is becoming a lawless state under your nose. The police who are meant to protect the public and uphold the constitution stood there and watched as goons hired by Embassava Sacco and other people assaulted both the men and women in the #MyDressMyChoice protest.

Where is Freedom of speech? My freedom of expression? My right to a secure nation? Take control of your law enforcement officers. This is unacceptable! The levels of impunity in the police force are working against the state of the nation and very soon will be unable to differentiate police officers from goons. #MyDressMyChoice

This Is What Juliani Has To Say About ‘Kikuyus, Luos’ And The Men Who Strip Women In The Streets

Kikuyus and Luos are the largest ethnic communities in Kenya and politically, they are the communities that have been in the forefront in defining the political landscape in Kenya.

However, as ethnic as Kenya is, it has never missed quite a number of challenges that come with this ethnicity.

Instead of Kenyans making use of the diverse cultures and values that we poses, we go on to sideline each other along ethnic boundaries.

This perhaps is the reason singer Juliani has used examples of the Kikuyus and Luos to bash the ethnic stereotyping that Kenyans have mastered so well and that they use to insult each other.

Juliani feels that at this time and age such incidences should not be occurring.

He has specifically taken issue with the manner in which men have faced all manner of ridicule after a section of criminals stripped women in Nairobi and Mombasa.

Juliani wonders why all men should be put into this category, just like Kenyans are used to including a whole community when one member commits a crime or does something appalling.

Juliani is clearly disgusted that ethnic stereotyping and tribalism are still very rife amongst Kenyans, despite efforts made to eradicate them.

This is fantastic and good for them for taking a stand. I haven’t seen what these men called inappropriate but absolutely nothing should be a reason why you strip a grown woman or child of her clothes because you decide its inappropriate. I hope they really get justice and well done to what seems like a peaceful protest. Human rights issues should never be seen as not important. Stand up Africa for your rights.

Everyone one has a right to dress the way they want. A lady was also harassed the same way in Abuja weeks ago in broad day light by some guys on the street becus she wore a dress just above her knee, I wasn’t pleased at all.
