The Citizen TV screen siren posted this:

5 Celebrities That Grew Up in Dirty Poor Slums but are Now Rich and Famous

Sometimes watching these celebrities live their lives can make us forget their once humble beginnings from whence they came. Some of them even try as hard as they can to forget this because their new found pride in success cannot allow them to admit that they were once at the bottom of the pile.

But sometimes I ask myself why should you be ashamed of your background? Coming from poverty to success and fame only means that you deserve twice the respect because you worked two times harder than those that were born into it.

Hollywood celebrities know this and that is why they even going round touting just how far they came from. Back home there are a few of our celebs who aren’t ashamed of their past and will sing about it, but for others they even adopt fake mothers because their real mothers are well, not up to standard with their new found fame and success.

Here is a list of Kenyan celebrities that are testimony to the come up, those that have come from the raggiest of rags to fame;

Octopizzo

Octo is the one Kenyan celeb that can proudly said he has left his mark not only in Kenya but abroad as well. From working with the UN to going on tour in European countries, Octo has truly arrived.

But of all his accomplishments, I would only hail him for one thing, he remembers where he came from and that’s the slums of Kibera.

Anyone would tell you that Kibera is among the humblest of humble when it comes to neighborhoods. And when you talk dirt poor, well you wouldn’t be blamed if you thought it originated from the slums of Kibera.

But Kibera’s finest, Octo, has done well to create a positive brand around his home mentioning it every time in his songs: “Namba Nane”.

Willy Paul

As a young man, Willy Paul, has managed to claw his way to the top of the gospel music industry. This is no easy task seeing there are many well primed veterans in the gospel music industry than in the secular.

However you can’t be as famous as Willy and not have any controversy following you around. From stealing songs to dumping his own mother, Willy Paul is a-kin to controversy.

As was he was exposed by Ghafla a few weeks ago, Willy Paul had indeed dumped his own mother in the shanty she raised him in Mathare and was masquerading another more successful woman as his mother. At one time he even pretended to ask for help to find his fake-mother who may as well have been fake-lost for all we know.

Still Willy’s rise to success sees him making it to this list.

Bahati

Despite being so popular in the gospel music industry, Bahati has remained as the hood he came up in.

Bahati is yet another celeb from Mathare and grew up and came up with Willy Paul. The two despite their recent public disputes are like two sides of the same coin.

Kaligraph Jones

Kaligraph is the hulk of Kenya’s rap-industry and coming up from a hood like Kayole which is known for its dangerous living, you’d understand why Kali would want to buff-up as much as he has.

But like Octo, Kali is proud of his up-bringing and tries to create a positive brand out of a neighborhood like Kayole.

Kaligraph Jones has accomplished a lot but perhaps his biggest accomplishment to date is remaining the same, at least according to me.

Huddah

As the queen of Kenya’s Instagram, many can say they know who Huddah is, the girl that travels all over and lives a lavish lifestyle.

But nothing is really known about her past and where she came from. However recently she posted a photo of herself next to a garbage dump in the slums of Kibera claiming that she grew up in a neighborhood just like it (Well we’ll take her word for it).

And just like all these celebrities you can make it. Orange brings you the Star Africa Sounds 2015 Music Contest for a chance to live your dream as a musician.

The Power Of Journalism: Jomo Kenyatta High School (Nakuru) Deputy Head Teacher Runs For His Life After Seeing Media Cameras

Call it the power of a camera, the power of journalism or the fear or a camera or the fear of journalists.

This phrase was put into perspective when a deputy head teacher in Nakuru showed his prowess in athletics albeit in a muddy and vegetation-covered track when TV cameras abruptly arrived in the school’s compound to gather news about a malpractice by the school’s administration.

The Deputy head teacher must have known that he was in the wrong and couldn’t risk his job and shame by facing the glaring cameras that were in place to capture every detail of the malpractice.

The school had sent away forms 3 and 4 students to buy high density mattresses despite a directive by the government that parents should not incur any extra charges except the fee they pay for their children,

Word reached journalists and as they arrived at the school’s compound, the deputy head showed them heels as he took off at a supersonic speed into the nearby banana plantation.

A cameraman with a well-built body went after him but realized he couldn’t keep up with his speed. He had to give up. However, cameras were able to capture the teacher’s disappearance and the journalists who had arrived to interview him were left in stitches with laughter after realizing how dreadful a camera had become at that moment.

‘Lokole’ New Hit Single From Jimmy Gait

When Jimmy Gait released ‘Mzuka Huu’, it became an instant hit that got massive airplay across both mainstream media, the internet and YouTube. He then released ‘Neno Moja’ which also became a hit. Now he is back again with another single, titled ‘Lokole’. The brand new single is meant to be a prayer for everyone who is going through a situation but still hold the belief that God will visit you and change the situation, so they would experience God’s power.  Gait has been one celebrated gospel singer who barely lets the dust settle before he releases another song while staying to his much quoted objective ‘changing things’ in the music sector.

One thing that I believe will likely to captivate you from the new single is  the dance beats, clarity of the video itself and Jimmy Gaits signature melody. The song has been produced by Teddy B.

Already the song has been embraced by most radio stations and is already enjoying massive airplay.

Keep it Ghafla, for the audio to be released soon.

That aside, Gait is headed to Germany on Friday for a tour as well as business.

Lanes! Corazon Kwamboka Flaunts Her Kes 1.1 Million Gold Watch (Photo)

Kenya’s most learned socialite, Corazon Kwamboka, has decided to wobble on people’s tongues again! This time it’s her exorbitant wrist watch that has earned her a spot on limelight.

Where do these socialites get cash from? No need to seek an answer for that rhetorical question when the obvious answer is crystal clear.

Just like Vera Sidika who decided to shock the country two months ago when she bought a bed worth a million bucks, Corazon Kwamboka too has decided to buy a golden Rolex watch worth slightly over a million shillings.

The socialite made sure haters were aware of her new pricey possession, she took a jab at them.

“Rolex baby! Your house lease on my wrist! Not on the same level gold Bebe. Time for Wine with my old friends $12000.” Corazon yapped.

Check out her costly watch below:

Does that watch look like it costs that much really?

This Is The Woman In The Life Of Milele FM’s Dr. Ofweneke

Milele FM is lucky to have one of the finest voices on its airwaves. The voice of comedian Dr. Ofweneke has always ruled the airwaves and his comedy behind the scenes is arguably one of the finest.

However, the jokes and laughter that you enjoy every morning come with a cost. In the life of this established rib cracker is a very gorgeous woman, a woman the man himself has lauded and says he is blessed.

Dr. Ofweneke has shared a photo of his beautiful wife, a wife who last year gave him a child.

He cannot hesitate to shower praises on her, telling his followers how much he finds himself blessed whenever he returns home to find a beautiful face welcoming him.

In a rejoinder, his wife has lavished praise on him, saying that she loves the comedian to the moon, stars and back to earth and that she is the luckiest woman alive.

The two are sharing their love publicly days after The Nation’s Njoki Chege tore apart the Star’s Oliver Mathenge for continuously flaunting his newly married wife and telling the masses everything they do even in their private life.

Njoki’s warning has not bothered Dr. Ofweneke though and it seems he is among the many who have learnt to live by and with the writer’s scathing rants.

Here is what Dr. Ofweneke shared:

NTV Journalists Respond To Uhuru’s Declaration That ‘Gazeti Ni Za Kufunga Nyama’

Recently while in Bomet County, the C.I.C harshly spoke against news papers, calling what they wrote hokum and emphasizing that newspapers only good for wrapping meat.

This declaration was apparently in response to mainstream newspapers declaring that there was war in Ruto’s backyard.

This comment has of course rubbed members of the 4th Estate with Ciku Muiruri boldly declaring this.

During Press Pass, NTV journalists gave their two cents on the president publicly trashing their hard work

Emmy Kosgey Squashes Claims She Gave Birth To A Baby Girl. Here Is The Relationship She Has With The Baby her Hubby Flaunted

Just when Kenyans were beginning to celebrate Emmy Kosgey’s blessing, she has come out to blast our bubble! The baby WASN’T hers!

Sorry guys, earlier we had reported that celebrated gospel singer, Emmy Kosgey, had delivered a bouncing baby girl after her husband came out flaunting a baby.

See also: Emmy Kosgey Gives Birth To A Bouncing Baby Girl!

Emmy has since come out to shed light on the baby everyone has been talking about. The cute girl is her granddaughter. Yes! Emmy is now a young grandma.

Her stepdaughter, Velma, was the one who gave birth to the pretty baby girl that everyone thought was her daughter.

Bet folks are just eager to see the gospel singer have her own child! Emmy took on social media to set the record straight about the child.

“Help me congratulate my step daughter Velma Williams for making me the youngest grandma.” Emmy wrote as she posted a photo of Velma.

10 African Presidents With Most Expensive Jets. Uhuru’s Plane Dwarfed By Mugabe’s Luxurious Boeing (Photos)

Of all 54 countries in Africa, Kenya has scooped a spot amongst top ten high flying leaders in the continent. Unye’s jet is superior to at least 46 other Presidential jets in Africa!

The Presidential jet (Uhuru’s) was struck by controversy when it failed to deliver Uhuru to Dubai where was supposed to connect a commercial flight from Dubai and subsequently fly to LA for the 2015 Milken Institute Global Conference. (A lot of stories have since sprung up to explain the fiasco.)

But make no mistake of underrating the Dutch-made Fokker 70 plane, the Presidential jet is highly rated in the continent.

The 20-year-old customized plane has a range of 2,710 km with room for 25 passengers. It didn’t come cheap neither, the state had to part with approximately Kes 1.9 billion to buy the President the jet.

Oh! Before I forget, Uhuru’s Fokker 70 was ranked 8th amongst top ten most expensive presidential jets in Africa.

Now if you think Unye’s jet is the ultimate piece of luxury, wait till you see Uncle Bob’s jet. Mugabe’s Boeing 767 cost Zimbabwean tax payer a staggering Kes 38.5 billion. It’s big, it’s faster and it’s the most luxurious Presidential craft in Sub-Saharan Africa. One African leader couldn’t allow Mugabe to carry the day!

The King of Morocco is the main man! He cruises on Boeing 747, the largest flying commercial plane on the sky, sorry I forgot Airbus A380 is now operational. Boeing 747 is the second largest.

His plane…

Only the likes of Obama and Chinese President, Xi Jinping, use Boeing 747 as their Presidential jets. To comprehend how big the plane is, wait until June when Air Force One touches down at JKIA, if you will be lucky enough to be at the airport, then you will understand what am talking about when I say the King Of Morocco is the king of African skies.

This Is How Massawe Japanni’s Wedding Went Down 8 Years Ago When She Married The Radio Maisha Head Who She Has Known For 13 Years (Photos)

Massawe Japanni has been a captivating figure on radio thanks to her enthralling voice, talent and ability to execute a show that not only attracts but also entertains and motivates.

She first fully came into the limelight when she joined Q FM where she formed a formidable partnership with the ever hilarious yet entertaining Cleophas Awinja, he of the Papa Shirandula show where he did wonders with Jalang’o before they left for other options.

But even before she joined Q FM, Massawe was a happy wife to one Tom Japanni, a man who would later be entrusted with the powers to lead Standard Group’s Radio Maisha.

It is 8 years ago since the two tied the knot in a colourful ceremony and Massawe, knowing better it is not Thursday, cannot wait to declare her undying life for the man she says she has known for 13 years.

This means they dated for 5 years before they married.

Massawe has renewed the vows she made to Tom 8 years ago and says that she still loves him the same way she did then.

Here are the photos and the message she sent out to her hubby:

10 Books That Will Turn You Into A Superstar

I’ve always been a reader but sometime in 2013, I felt I was too smart a writer to read. Great ideas would come to me naturally and so I had the perception that other people were the ones supposed to read from me not the other way round. I was wrong and I realized this courtesy of Nation media journalist Philip Mwaniki. He taught me the importance of maintaining a reading culture within myself and I will always appreciate that.

Mwaniki and I currently don’t see eye to eye. We fell out while I was working for him on a blog called IzVipi.com. In fact, there’s so much bad blood between us that as a judge in this year’s BAKE awards, he decided not to include my blog in the nominations list. This is despite the fact that I was fresh from winning a continental award. I hold no form of regret or bitterness. I still hold the things he taught to me to heart. They say “A wise man can learn a lot from his enemies than a fool can learn from his friends.”

But enough about Mwaniki. Books are important for a bright mind. My brain still churns out plenty of ideas without my eyes having to read anything but my language wouldn’t be close to near perfection if it wasn’t for my love for books.

Today’s generation is so immersed into the internet that it misses out on the rich wisdom in books.

Recently I received the following email from one of my loyal readers:

“What book recommendation would you make for a male in his early twenties looking to become wiser, motivated, and have the biggest positive impact on his life?”

I have made such a list in the past, but I’ve read dozens of books since then and so it’s time for an update.

Being a superstar is not about appearing on TV all the time and having hundreds of thousands of social media followers. it’s about being a real man, a unique man with abilities that can’t be surpassed. It’s about being a champ in life and in your respective field of interest.

Before I share the books, I must state that they i selected them not for fine prose or excellent storytelling but because they will push you to accomplishing goals centered around masculinity, earning money, and getting laid (which is very important). I believe if you give a smart man the right tools, which these books contain, he can figure out how to use them in his own unique situation.

Here are the books, in the order that they should be read:

The 48 Laws Of Power

48 laws of power

This book by Robert Greene can probably be renamed “Socialization For Dummies.” It gets even introverted guys up to speed on all the little tricks and games that people play. It can be used not only as defense for when they are used on you, but also as offense for when you want to extract your goals from others. The fact that it has been long criticized as “manipulative” is a hint to the power that it contains for those men who are settling into adulthood. It’s our generation’s “How To Win Friends & Influence People.”

The Art Of Seduction

artofseduction

If you want to be an instant hit with chics even if you look like a cross bread between an old mzungu sponsor and Mugabe, go read this book. Sacrifice those hours you spend watching Game Of Thrones and immerse yourself into the paragraphs of this masterpiece.

The Art of Seduction (2001) is the second book by American author Robert Greene. The book profiles nine types of seducers and eighteen types of victims. Greene uses examples from historical figures such as Cleopatra, Giacoma Casanova, Duke Ellington and John F. Kennedy to support the psychology behind seduction. The book contains 24 seduction techniques. Greene saw The Art of Seduction as the logical follow-up to The 48 Laws of Power since seduction is “about power and manipulation as much as it is about romance, about how to make someone fall under your spell.”

The War Of Art

war of art

On the path to becoming wealthy or accomplished, you will encounter a devious force that rises up against you: yourself. Steven Pressfield, author of Gates Of Fire and The Legend Of Bagger Vance, explains that it’s so difficult to complete projects you’ve envisioned because an internal force called “resistance” will try to prevent you from reaching your potential. It sabotages you, urging you to laze around, give up, or idle your time away instead of working hard. He gives you a strategy to fight against it. While the book is mostly intended for creative types, it can apply to any task in which consistent effort is required.

Think and grow rich

think n grow rich

This is the best self-help book ever written in the history of the universe. It teaches you not just how to make money, but how to achieve any goal you want in life. The author, Napoleon Hill, analyzed the success of the American business titans of his day and then distilled their behavior into a thirteen-step framework that you can apply for your own goals.

Think & Grow Rich is one of the most widely American books of all time, and it is no surprise to me as to why: the techniques simply work.

The Power of Habit

power of habit

The Power Of Habit aims to rid you of bad habits such as procrastination or overeating by carefully dissecting them to identify the true reward you’re receiving. This allows you to change the habit into something positive that sticks with you.

If you want to do something that requires willpower—like going for a run after work—you have to conserve your willpower muscle during the day. If you use it up too early on tedious tasks like writing emails or filling out complicated and boring expense forms, all the strength will be gone by the time you get home.

It also introduces the concept of a keystone habit, something that improves many areas of your life simultaneously. Bad habits are often the first roadblock to achieving your goals, and this book arms you with the tools needed to change them.

Starting Strength

starting strength

I’m firmly in the belief that the modern man needs some type of fitness program to develop confidence and fight the atrophy of his muscles that result from office work and chair-sitting. Therefore he’s going to need a beginner’s workout program to get him in the gym and start building muscle mass and definition. The best book to accomplish that is Starting Strength, which focuses on compounds weights such as the squat, deadlift, shoulder press, and bench press, with dedicated chapters focusing on each. This book is often described at the best weightlifting book ever written.

Influence

influence

This is easily the most important psychology book ever written, condensing the most effective persuasion tactics into one volume. It teaches six main principles that are easily adaptable to use in commerce and getting laid:

  • Reciprocity
  • Scarcity
  • Liking
  • Authority
  • Social proof
  • Commitment/consistency

Examples and explanations are given throughout, so it won’t take a big jump in brain power to apply them to your own life. It’s an easy read that will teach you more practical steps to convincing other people to give you what you want.

The Way Of Men

the way of men

There is no manual for men on how to live a modern life. Mainstream culture constantly bombards us with propaganda to weaken and feminize us. The Way Of Men is the antidote, exploring masculinity and what it takes to be a man.

“Men are dropping out and disengaging from our slick, easy, safe world. For what may be the first time in history, the average guy can afford to be careless. Nothing he does really matters, and—what’s worse—there is a shrinking hope of any future where what he does will matter.”

Hold on tight during the second half of the book where the author clearly lays out how masculinity is being attacked and marginalized, increasingly seen as something that needs to be treated instead of exalted. The main benefit of this book is that it gives insight into your own behavior while helping you swallow the red pill.

Sex: She Comes First

she comes first

This book teaches men how to give the woman first priority when it comes to bedroom matters. With what is apparently a real enthusiasm for cunnilingus, Ian Kerner (Ph.D) approached this project with the goal of providing a more extensive guide to the subject than had ever been written before. His dedication shows; Kerner even has quirky, descriptive names for his maneuvers.

Why you need to read this book: Make a mental list of the aspects of your sex life that are either a forgettable afterthought or a total mystery. If going downtown is anywhere near the top, you’ve got a problem — this is one of many Kenyan women’s most consistent complaints about men, and yes, this almost certainly includes you.

Discourse: How to tell A Story

discourse

This short story collection is written with Twain’s characteristic wit, and it’s a rare instance of the father of American literature actually explaining his process.

Why you need to read this book: The craft of storytelling comes with its own rules — such as artfully getting people’s attention instead of demanding it like a jackass — by which every guy should abide. Besides, as Twain says, a clumsily told story “is very depressing, and makes one want to renounce joking and lead a better life.”

reading this books alone won’t change your world. implementing the things you learn is what will. So if you get an idea, be quick to practice it.

They Say Larry Madowo Isn’t A Male Socialite Yet His Actions Prove Otherwise (Photos)

Larry is one of the most outgoing new anchors on the Kenyan screens, he is very open about his private life and this has portrayed him in a different light altogether.

Recently the NTV anchor took issues with local blogs for writing non-stories, he unapologetically bashed blogs in a lengthy article he wrote on Daily Nation.

Larry’s abhorrence for bloggers comes as a rude surprise given that he is a male socialite, a hot topic for keyboard ninjas to write something about.

Don’t be startled, this is not sheer malevolence but an assertion arrived upon as a result of Larry’s action on social media.

Apart from auctioning their bodies, female socialites are good at flooding the internet with photos of themselves enjoying ‘rare’ luxuries.

This is also true with Larry Madowo, the NTV anchor has been filling the social media with photos of himself doing usual stuff normal people do without having to advertise themselves on social media.

We all know the likes of Vera Sidika and Huddah Monroe are the ones who are fond of uploading their photos whenever they do anything; eating, enjoying their leisure time, flaunting whatever possession they have etc.

Larry Madowo also has a penchant for the unwonted gratification, when he flew to Vietnam he made sure he kept his Kenyan audience updated with every single detail that happened around him.

Now he is in the US of A and is posting photos of the food he is eating over there, ‘Ati best food in Pittsburgh,’ typical male socialite behavior!

Vera Sidika Slammed For ‘Copying’ Huddah And Zari

Vera Sidika is constantly compared to other socialites, I guess it’s something that comes with the territory .

And the fact that she will be making an appearance at an all-white party in Tanzania, something which Huddah and Zari have done in the past, people have assumed that she is copying them.

vee_tyz.jpg

This is despite the fact that all-white parties have been done in the past multiple times and do not ‘belong’ to someone. They have just gained a lot of popularity in the East African region in recent times. Here are some of teh reactions to this evnt:
Avenell Ngara Zari make white parties the best u should host bleach parties they suit you better
Deby Debrah haha copying zari the boss lady woie but ni sawa mimi sina shida wacha nifanye homework

And this is how Vera Sidika hushed out her critics:

Vee S Beiby Marya Maria it’s not my party I’m not the event organizer I’m getting paid to make appearance. Here’s one thing. I will never turn down money just Cz yall think I’m copying one person or the other. I’ll host Cz they paying me for that.

Ababu Namwamba Is The Most Romantic Man In Kenya! What He Did For His Wife During Mothers’ Day Will Blow You Away (Photos)

Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has been in the headline recently for all the wrong reasons. He was embroiled in a corruption scandal as chair of the Parliamentary Accounts Committee (PAC).

This saw him booted out of the committee and an immediate replacement found.

And now it seems Ababu really needed time out to re-energize and his best destination to gather himself has been in the Iceland.

The lawyer is gallivanting in the coolest climate of Iceland with his wife Priscah Mwaro who has shared intimate photos of the two sharing every sweet moment together.

The photos are already doing rounds on the social media.

Ababu is seen kissing and giving her his back on the shores of the great sea.

Here are some of the photos the lady has shared and the sweet message she sent to Ababu:

True Love brewed in Budalangi, served in Reykjavik, Iceland…the best Mothers Day gift ever! Glory, all honor and all praise to you mighty God for the gift of a loving hubby. Thanks friends for standing by us. Ababu Namwamba

Gather all those entities on social media in an event where there will be entertainment (DJ’s music and artistes’ performances), fun games ( wall climbing, skate boarding, etc), a football banter section for all football fans to gather and represent their teams, speed dating and speed networking. There will also be a fashion show which will a major part of the Mtandao Festival Franchise and will target budding local fashion designers.

Diamond Platinumz Discusses Willy Paul For The First Time… Here Is What He Said About Him And His Request For A Collabo

Willy Paul is the only gospel artiste in Kenya to effectively embrace the Bongo Flava style of music which has greatly defined him ever since he plunged into himself into the music industry.

He has since released a number of hits that have seen him bag several awards and put his status on higher level.

Despite a number of controversies, his music is highly valued and accepted in Kenya and his talent is just undisputed.

Willy Paul has been looking to meet East Africa’s finest singer Diamond Platinumz of Tanzania for a collabo because the two sing almost the same way.

His efforts have been hampered by religion, Diamond being a Muslim and Willy Paul a Christian.

But finally after word reached Diamond that Willy Paul is looking for him, the Tanzanian heartthrob has responded.

Speaking to Mzazi Willy M Tuva, this is what Diamond said about Willy Paul:

CABU GAH DIARIES: Is Chris Kirubi Flirting With Sharon Mundia And Amina In This Video?? Isn’t He Supposed To Be Their Boss? I Dont Get It! (Video)

Chris Kirubi, the wealthiest Kenyan alive (Am I right,Forbes?) Just shot a video of him and his two female employees celebrating some good news. But his conduct in the video is,to say the least, discomforting. As you’re about to see.

My attention to a video that was shot and uploaded by the Capital FM people was drawn by a post that was done by my good friend and upcoming media mogul Beatrice Ndung’u who,in a Facebook post on her SEMA RADIO TV page, wondered…

“Is it just me or what but when watching this clip of Chris Kirubi congratulating Sharon Mundia of ThisisEss of (sic) her recent engagement, looked creepy of him on how he went about it as her boss at Capital FM”

Those are the words that Beatrice Ndung’u,or her people at SEMA RADIO TV,posted and attached the said video for scrutiny. Piqued,I immediately watched the video and immediately agreed with the author of the post; Why is the boss of such a giant media house getting so flirty and touchy and chatty with his junior-in fact, very junior-employees!!??

The first taste of awkwardness in the video starts off when as Chris Kirubi, the Aliko Dangote of Kenya,is busy having what I would call disjointed conversation with Amina-a Capital FM presenter-Sharon,the engagement girl walks in.

It gets real creepy when the man who is supposed to be Sharon’s boss and the man who we all know as the Ultimate Tycoon lets loose and, uninhibited, scoops Sharon into his waiting arms and hoists her up in the air…swinging her and, while putting her down, planting quite the smooch on her. And it’s a labored smooch…

Cree-py.

And all this time, cameras are rolling. It really does look like a high-school reunion sort of thing…Between two jumpy girls…Not a Boss of Kirubi’s repute and his muuuuuch younger blogger employee.

But Sharon is so unbelievably sexy and hot and gorgeous, who wouldn’t want to give her the sort of hug Chris accorded her!!? And to bamboozle her with a billion smacks on her chubs?

The awkwardness continues…

As the chatter is going on,Chris, ever the gentleman, gazes into Sharon’s eyes deep…And affectionately throws his hand around her svelte waist..And around Amina’s,too. For good measure.

Oopsy.

The chit-chat goes on…Kirubi asks Sharon,”Who is this guy!?” And Sharon is caught off guard but not before the good DJ says,”I am jealous…” It gets more weird.

And as Sharon is narrating her ‘engagement experiences’,Yup,the works, from the serenity to romance to rendezvous to picturesque backgrounds atop Mount Kenya, she says,”He took me in a helicopter…”

And Chris, needlessly,is shocked,”In a Helicopter!!?” He feigns surprise. “Imagine CK,Why didn’t you think of a Helicopter!?” Amina asks the besotted DJ who croons,”You know I can’t afford….”

Very funny,Mr Billionaire.

And while the whole convo is going on,Chris is clasping both babes in his arms…Sandwiched between them. Real, ummm, close.

Uh-uh.

The chat is light and hearty and sweet and then Chris goes,”You know men are very important in a ladies life…” and Sharon muses,”And vice versa….”

The video cuts to some quick break before it resumes with Chris dishing out what is supposed to be life advice and,in the end, mutters some “Congratulations” a million times before rubbing the girls close and, let’s face it,making them a little uneasy.

And while all this is going on,DJ CK’s arms are still weirdly THROWN around the waists of both damsels…One of whom is happily-I assume so-married and the other has just been engaged.

The DJ then asks Sharon to take her fiancee to his office before it is agreed that he may come in late and miss the date….And then it gets more awkward as the DJ,clearly slurring, tells Sharon “Bring him let’s have a drink…” And you can hear one of the girls saying,”Oh Lord….”

And after another mini-second break, the video comes back with Amina ‘cutting her Boss off’ and wondering whether she will be sacked but the good Ol’ DJ promises her that she is NOT fired and that cutting a Boss off is normal…

And then another girlie moment, another uneasy laughter and another cringe-worthy moment follows…

The closing of the video is actually the weirdest part…Because, let’s face it,this is supposed to be a Boss-Employee camera moment not a Hannah Montana Disney party.

Hmmmm…..

Personally,I admire CK,and find him hugely inspirational and his story greatly motivational but, ummm, after that ka-video…I am not so sure.

Is this how Chris Kirubi always is with his employees? He has thousands…And is he usually this sweet and genial and free with pretty much anyone under his payroll?

Is this how a Boss should conduct himself around his junior employees!? Or are we reading too much into this whole video!?

Personally,I found the whole video rather awkward. For so many reasons…But I could be wrong….

Is this how, say,Linus Gitahi would clasp and squeeze Victoria Rubadiri and Smiti Vidyarthi on camera? Is this how SK Macharia would grab Janet Mbugua and Lilian Muli while noisily smooching either of them in a celebratory mood? Is this how Patrick Quarcoo would squeeze Adelle Onyango and Tina Kaggia between himself and laugh and get so weirdly chatty with them on a normal Tuesday afternoon?

Well,You watch the short clip for yourself and let me know what your impression will be immediately it’s a wrap…

But,to quote the words of Beatrice Ndung’u,Chris Kirubi is acting real “creepy”.

Sort of…

But,in hindsight,if this is how he truly and usually always is,then Chris Kirubi can actually be the ‘Dream Boss’…I mean,if he’s this sweet and charming and cheery, who wouldn’t want to work under him? Or for him? Don’t we all want to be lifted up by our bosses? And spurn around? And to be held so tantalizingly close? We all want….Definitely!

(Click Next Page To Watch The Short Clip)

And have a bad day. Or a good one…Depending on what you expect from your bosses…

This Is What Hapa Kule News Thespian Had To Say About The Likes Of Huddah Monroe And Vera Sidika

The socialite ‘profession’ is giving many girls in Kenya and the world over sleepless nights thanks to the success those who tried it early on have achieved so far.

Huddah Monroe drives a high-end car thanks to her involvement in this activity. She can also visit any place in the world at her own volition.

On the other hand, Vera Sidika has managed to bleach her skin and sport a new and advanced complexion. She has also expanded her posteriors and anterior, giving her an edge over her socialite colleagues.

This and many others are some of the reasons why wannabe socialites are on the run to expose everything their mamas gave them to the world in a bid to attract thirsty ninjas.

And now Njugush of Hapa Kule News has shared his thoughts on socialites.

Speaking exclusively to Ghafla Kenya, Njugush starts by bashing those who expose their nudity to the public because they want to become socialites. He goes on to wonder where the likes of Huddah and Vera get their money yet they do not work anywhere.

Njugush, however, says that he is not hating on anyone and as long as they are happy with what they do, no one should be bothered.

Here is the interview as it happened:

“Mungu Akileta Mtoto Analeta Sahani Yake” Is NOT What Sauti Sol Say In Their Nerea Song! This Is What They Exactly Say

Sauti Sol made headlines yet again when they collaborated with TPF 6 finalists Amos and Josh to release what has been described as 2015’s best hit, Nerea.

Many applauded their work while others bashed it saying it was one of those controversial songs that are overhyped because the singers are celebrated and deemed fit to release anything.

Nerea has been the talk in town and with many parodies from across the republic and beyond, this shows that it is a people’s favourite.

But many have been trying to sing out the song for themselves, bringing out different versions of the song.

The part that everybody has been missing is “Mungu akileta mtoto analeta sahani yake”. This is what all of us have been singing. We are all wrong.

In fact Sauti Sol and Amos and Josh do not say this in their song. Instead their song goes like, …Mungu akileta mtoto analeta SAA NI YAKE!

Well, now you know.

Here are the lyrics:

Verse 1(Delvin):
Nakuomba Nerea, Usitoe Mimba Yangu We,
Mungu Akileta Mtoto, Analeta Saa Ni Yake,

Ciku Muiruri Strongly Warns President Uhuru Kenyatta

President Uhuru Kenyatta made away with yet another rant on the fourth estate when he publicly told a gathering in Bomet County to ignore newspapers and stop reading them and instead use them to wrap meat from the butchers.

This latest incident has greatly divided the country with some in support of the president while many are chastising him for downgrading a part of the society that performs so crucial a function.

The media itself is taken aback by the president’s remarks, with opinions and comments flying from all channels of communication telling off the president.

And now media genius Ciku Muiruri has taken her time to share a word of advice with the head of state, warning him against abusing the media because this comes with some dire consequences.

Sharing what the president said in Bomet, Ciku has told Uhuru that it is utterly wrong to pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel.

Ciku goes on to tell the president that he is getting bad advice for the same. So who is this advising the president wrongly?

Here is what Ciku said:

Uhuru Kenyatta‘s contempt for the Fourth Estate is… worrying. Don’t pick fights with people who buy ink by the barrel. You are getting bad advice, sir.

Standard Newspaper Writer Reacts To Being Named One Of The ‘Top Homosexuals’ In Kenya Among Maina Kageni

It’s only in Kenya where someone’s sexuality will make front page news…yes in a country where we have bigger problems such as terrorism, corruption and cholera; we are more concerned about what people do in the confines of their bedroom.

Yesterday, The Citizen ‘unleashed’ a list of ‘gays’ naming Maina Kageni, Binyavanga Wainaina and others as the top homosexuals. One of those named Joji Baro has been visibly livid over it, despite being openly gay and clamoring for attention on the blogs…

lipton-tea-city-of-animals.jpg

Binyavanga on the other hand could be least concerned over the issue and maintained radio silence over it, now Makau Mutua has responded to this saying:

“Being gay is human. I would be proud to be gay. Except I am not gay. Paper outs “gays.” #HomophobicCitizenWeeklyOutsGays.”

After Ice Bucket Challenge, This Is The New Gimmick In Town That Has Seen Churchill Challenging Maina Kageni, Jeff Koinange And Julie Gichuru

Do you have a wind of the new prank in town? Well, celebrities are already taking part in it, but will it leave up to expectations?

Remember Ice Bucket Challenge, the gimmick that was best repeated the world over? Apparently Kenya has started another interesting prank that has seen celebs like Churchill participating.

This new stunt has no particular name neither does it involve dumping a bucket of ice water on someone’s head to raise money for some charitable organizations.

The challenge requires one to tell the world about a person that they celebrate or hold in high regard, once you are nominated you have record a short clip telling folks about the person that inspired you to be who you are.

Churchill was nominated by KJ (John Kiarie) and he subsequently passed the torch to Maina Kageni, Jeff Koinange and Julie Gichuru.

See video of Churchill taking on the challenge below:

Asante Brother K.J John Kiarie, ACCEPTED THE CHALLENGE, Would also like to nominate Maina Kageni, Jeff Koinange and Julie Gichuru. ..tukiendelea…

No More Of Njoki Chege’s Ranting, This One Has Literally Killed Her Career

Njoki Chege, famously known as City Girl, is one of the few ladies who have embraced the convention of taking on men head on, hitting them where they least expect and attacking their strongest areas fearlessly.

The Nation newspaper has given her the platform to rant and bash in equal measure, ridicule and despicably laugh at everyone whom she feels does not belong to her class. This has greatly inflicted unacceptable pain in the target group, with many feeling she is attracting traction through unscrupulous means.

Well, forget the rant on the Star newspaper’s Oliver Mathenge and his newly married wife. The rant might be so recent but it seems its impact is not as immense as that of her previous article where she advised her fellow ladies to avoid men who are football enthusiasts.

Njoki must have bitten more than she could chew because this latest rejoinder is not only meant to remind her of how ignorant she has become with time but also to let her frankly know that she is on her death bed in matters writing and becoming relevant.

However, let’s not be ignorant of the fact that it was her honest opinion and her writing prowess is unimpeachable, only that it is used for almost all the wrong courses.

A seemingly insulted former Moi University student leader who is known to have a craving for Barcelona, leave alone being a fanatic, has penned a detailed rejoinder to Njoki’s article that advised ladies to avoid football fanatics like a plague.

The rejoinder is already going viral on the social media and by now I guess Njoki Chege must have gotten wind of it. Here is what Mwamburi Mwang’ombe, he of the famed Mashoka confrontation in the Eldoret-based institution of higher learning, told this self proclaimed counselor.

MARRY THOSE WHO KNOW THE GAME

In her “DATE A MAN MARRIED TO FOOTBALL? NOT ME!” which is done in relatively good prose but frail argument, Njoki Chege complains about a host of things about the game of football and relationships. She advises ladies thus: “If your man, my dear girls, screams and claps when the likes of Sanchez step into the field, then that man is a closeted homosexual. How else can you explain a man shrieking in glee at the sight of another man? So, stop being disagreeable because your favourite player — who is also your secret crush — has failed the entire team.” I mean the Njoki who is always running into people’s relationships and nerves because she has never understood the offside rule in football? She does not know football is probably more creative than drama which her coach offers as an alternative by her coach in secondary school.

You have heard, for you definitely cannot know, those who have spared their virginity to the outermost rim of life only to surrender it to the ‘wrong’ persons. Those of us who have lost our virginity most recently are like the team which concedes a late goal. It is the most painful. We are the types who go around blaming everyone of the opposite gender thinking that: “all (wo)men are the same”. The late goal awakens us to the mistakes that are mostly made at latter and ripe stages of life. As such, we should forever be keen because the final tide may become the figurative straw that broke the camel’s back.

On the other side are those knocked-out the Tyson style. Those who pave way very early in life because they believe it is needless to waste energy shielding what you will eventually give. Hush! These is not about virginity or lack of it thereof, it is about life and death. Na hata kama ni about virginity and sex kwani “tudu nikii?”The Late Bruno Metsu would always tell Senegalese football players in their world cup matches that “every match is a match of your life”. Football, like any other sport is the sure mimicry of life… it presents lessons which are applied daily in life.

Njoki, football is not a silly game where 22 men kick and run after an inflated piece of pigskin. Every panting, sweating and scoring is the jaw-dropping battle of life outside here. It is an intellectual battle which is a precipitated statement of patriotic, economic and ideological conquering of the strategic and privileged. It is a spherical body in the shape of the world, on a flat play ground representing the equal chances that life gives us until we mess up. However, there will be issues beyond our ability and comprehension. They are the referee who plays God and makes the ultimate decisions of and over our lives. Once he decides it is a penalty there is nothing we can do. The 90-minute time limit teaches us of our frontiers in life and the time within which we have to conclude our business on this side of the universe. Then, there are spectators who ‘know’ more than the players and the coach. These are people who are experts of everything including nothing. They are ‘experts’ who advise you about everything in your life. They are outsiders who “mourn louder than the owners of the corpse.” Achebe.

In life, the very ambitious always find their behind eaten. This makes more sense to those who have played against teams like Barcelona which penetrates anything that is agape. It is for the simple reason in football that you cannot attack and defend at the same time. If you go for goals, you leave your defence prone to counter-attacks. The very serious in life do not follow the madness that football is thus eventually lack the tactics of this game of life. For this reason, lovers have had to come home to cheating spouses because they were busy attacking opportunities.

Whenever Jose Mourinho plays against Barca, he plays defensive, his players run least and they spare their energy for a strategic pounce on the formidable enemy. We must always know when to attack in life for the rules in the football pitch teach us all. To Chelsea, it is not the flowery, decorated and classy presentation that matters but strategy to get the trophy. There comes a time when clinching the trophy is all that matters. You know what a man who wants a lady does. It happened to Njoki when her boyfriend who” was all about football… and clapping very hard and screaming like a woman in labour when Manchester United scored a goal…” came seducing you. It may be the reason some go for those spouses who may not be as beautiful/handsome but are result oriented when it comes to marriage. We do not need models to take to coffee dates and orgasmic orgies at lap-dancing clubs when it comes to marriage. Such women have been stress to men who have fought to snatch their babes from more blessed revellers

However, there are those who can manage beautiful and productive football like Team Barcelona. Arsenal has tried to imitate them but they never get the results because life cannot be an exact duplicate. In addition, these games present solemn social spheres of life. Whenever Barca plays Real Madrid, the secessionist narrative of groups like Al-Shabaab, Boko Haram and ISIS are brought to the fore. Barcelona comes from Catalonia which is pushing for self-determination from the main Spain. Every match with teams outside Catalonia is broader than just football. The political aspirations, fears and hopes of its people are embodied in every strain or turn that the magical Messi makes for them.

The other thing that we see in football especially by the whites is an assertion of their superiority to the black race. Unlike our Kenyan teams where players carelessly hit against each other as they injure and aimlessly run in the pitch, Europesan football is a show of class, wit and strategy. Watch them play and see the ball running constantly as the players move calculatively move around with ease. Let the ball roll, labour less and play best. What of the 400 million US dollar ‘fight of the century’? What lessons are in and outside the ring? It is not just how the whites can hype what is theirs to suck all the money in the world but also the politics of “you cannot win a major war on American soil” from outside. Do you know that Manny Pacquiao represented the poor masses of the rest of the world who feel oppressed, robbed and abused by Mayweather of the rich system?

Ever known what Muhammad Ali’s philosophy of “float like a butterfly and sting like a bee” has done to all facets of human life? I have just stung you like a bee only to marvel at the beautiful floating butterfly should you be lucky to see me.

If you do not change tactic, football will forever get a men’s hundred per cents in everything. If you study football and be counseled of it, you will conquer him and stop whining on magazeti ya kufungia nyama. By the way, how do patrons of the pen like Philip Ochieng’, David Ndii, Roy Gachuhi et al write on the same day and paper with Njoki Chege? Doesn’t she suffocate from their resultant linguistic and logical aroma? Is she capable of abstract thought needed to sustain a column? It may be the all the City Girl does is to hallucinate on paper.

Life is a game, you can take these lessons to bed and see the results.

Njoki must have bit more than she could chew because this latest rejoinder is not only meant to remind her of how ignorant she has become with time but also to let her frankly know that she is on her death bed in matters writing and becoming relevant.

Let’s not forget, however, that it was her honest opinion and her writing prowess is unimpeachable, only that it is used for almost all the wrong courses.

After DP Ruto, Another Law Maker Scrambles For A Piece Of Legendary American Singer (Photos)

Deputy President, William Ruto, isn’t the only politician who rubbed shoulders with celebrated American worship leader, Don Moen. Another politician also met up with him.

Renowned gospel legends, Don Moen and Lenny LeBlanc, have been making headlines ever since they touched down in the country on 2nd of May.

The two were in the 254 for ten days to spread the Word through singing, their visit saw them mingling with the country’s second in command.

But Ruto isn’t the only political figure who hanged out with Don and Lenny, nominated MP, honorable Isaac Mwaura, also got a piece of the two.

The legislator caught up with the two singers at Nairobi Baptist Church, Ngong Road, just before they dropped a moving performance.

Apart from exchanging words, they also spared a few minutes for photo shoot, see the pictures below:

While some celebrities like showing off their families to the whole world whenever wherever, others like keeping theirs under water.

They say a man does all he can to keep his family safe, if this is true then the like of Onsarigo have shun limelight from their families for a good reason.

Not for long though, photos of Dennis and his family have somehow managed to find their way into social networking sites.

The Senator’s Daughter Has A Touching Comeback After She Was Caught Kissing Some Lips Hard!

Last week we showed you a photo of Salma Mbuvi in a photo where she was kissing some girl hard. The pretty girl chose to live her life the only way she knows how, not limited by what society expected her to live like. Her life is hers, and Ya’ll can drive yourselves to hell.

Uhm well, when she is not kissing some girl, or catching up with mischief, the outspoken girl knows how to be sweet! We can now probably speculate on who she loves the more between the mum and the dad.

This is the message she sent out to her mother on mother’s day”

“There is always a story behind everything. How that picture got on the wall, how that scar got on your body some of this stories are easy to tell some of them are hard to tell but behind every story is a mothers story because that is where you begin…you may be treated as a maid…you may be treated as a chauffeur and many other things but one thing for sure, you will always be loved for everything you do I don’t know what I can give her in return of everything she has done for me I don’t think money is worth it because it doesn’t last forever all I can do is ask God to bless her for me and to give her more years on earth…thank you so much mama for always being there for me as a best friend as a sister and everything…all that I have,am, and hope to be I owe to you, so this is for all the time I forgot to say thank you happy Mother’s Day to you happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there.”

After Cracking Us With “Matapaka” Member Of Parliament To Be Arraigned In Court Alongside Accomplice Ms Bardi. Details

The “matapaka” finally got owned.  Never before in the history of politics has a simple phrase gone so viral. A few months ago member of parliament Alfred Keter and his accomplice, Ms Sonia Birdi found themselves on the limelight  on grounds of impunity after an altercation with officers at Gilgil weigh Bridge where the two had gone to demand the release of a truck belonging to the nominated member of parliament.

Just when we thought that the “Matapakas” had gone scot free, Keriako Tobiko directed the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to proceed and charge the two for breaching Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya and the Provisions of the Ethics and Integrity Act 2013.

President Uhuru Kenyatta gave the EACC 60 days to prosecute the cases and ordered public officials mentioned to step aside whilst investigations continued.

Justice is Served.
