Why Number 8 Will Always Be The Magic Number To Octopizzo

Kibera’s finest, Octopizzo, is obsessed with the number 8 for a good reason. The rationale behind Octopizzo’s fixation is the vital role the number plays in his life.

To start with, Octopizzo’s name is reminiscent of an octopus which has eight tentacles. Octo also happens to come from Kibera which is represented by number eight, Matatu route.

But those two aren’t the only factors why Octo cherishes the number 8. As a matter of fact, the rapper says the number has always been special to him since time immemorial.

Octo recently paraded eight wonderful ladies from different tribes and race who play a crucial role in his life away from all the fame and fortune.

OCT.jpg

As if that is not enough, Kibera’s finest will be launching his album on the 8th of August. (Remember August also happens to be the eighth month of the year.)

There you go…See how the number eight keeps on bringing good luck unto the life of Octopizzo aka Numba Nane!

Kidero Receives Support From Classic FM Presenter After He Was Roasted By Capital FM Producer

Nairobi Governor, Dr. Evans Kidero, is arguably the most hated man in Nairobi following heavy downpour that wrecked havoc in the city.

Yesternight, a considerable number of Nairobi dwellers slept on the roads after running water rendered some roads impassable.

Following the saddening incident, most Nairobians have come out to spurt their frustrations and anger to their Governor whom they blame for what befell them.

Capital FM’s Joe Muchiri took to the social media to blast the Nairobi County boss.

In a new twist of events, Classic FM’s Larry Asego has popped out to ‘defend’ Kidero. Larry says the Nairobi governor is not entirely to be blamed, he instead pointed an accusing finger at the plastic bags that have blocked the City’s drainage system.

Below is what Larry wrote:

We can blame Gov Kidero all we want, but we and our plastic bags/bottles/trash strewn all over are equally to blame. Nairobi has been flooding for over 10yrs and we have consistently done nothing. This time the only reason we are angry is because we spent the night on the roads and maybe our kids nearly slept hungry. In true Kenyan fashion we will forget in two months after rains are gone and we will go back to our drainage blocking patterns. We will talk about it in bars and share “war” stories about it and move on. When it suits us we turn a blind eye, when it inconveniences us we shout from the rooftops. Till the day we understand that if I throw that empty yogurt pack from a moving matatu it will affect me in future, we will keep suffering from the blessings that is rain. We still wont harvest the rain water, we will still approve construction of structures that block waterways, we will still construct roads on a concave and not convex manner because we opted to give “my cousin” an engineering job he got using a fake degree, we will not learn. So Gov Kidero please do something that will last longer than your tenure in office, la sivyo let’s just request Sonko Rescue team to invest in boats on our behalf because we will be needing them. That’s just my opinion, I stand corrected though.

See 1 FM’s Neomi Ng’ang’a And Antoneosoul Shake Their Goodies In Studio

One FM’s lass Neomi Nga’ang’a is known to be a fun-loving radio personality and even her voice on radio tells it all. Charming and ever laughing, Neomi has amassed enough support to land her an Oscar of its kind thanks to her prowess behind One FM studios.

On the other hand Antoneosoul, a Nation FM presenter, is an artiste who has passion for music and desire to entertain through the same and as a host on radio.

Recently Antneosoul released a brand new jam and he has been from one studio to another to hype his jam.

He recently landed in 1 FM studios and the person who hosted her was Neomi Ng’ang’a.

The two fun-loving celebrities seem to have finally found the time they have craved for a long time and switched off the microphones to show the world their other side.

Antoneosoul is particularly seen shaking his small body vigorously, luring Neomi into the same and the two go on to shake their bodies like they are boneless.

Here is the video that is already circulating around the social media:

10 Highest Paid African Presidents. Uhuru Could Have Taken A Pay Cut But He Is Still Ranked High. What Number One Pockets Will Stun You (Photos)

Have you ever asked yourself just how much African Head of States and Governments take home at the end of the month? Worry no more, the list is finally out!

Africa is the poorest continent on the face of the world. Even so, its Presidents are some of the highest paid on planet earth.

The huge disparity between what African leaders pocket and what their subjects take home each end month just tells one only the messiah can save this dark continent, literally!

Our own President made the cut to be included in the list of highest paid Presidents in Africa. Unye was ranked impressively 5th.

After announcing he would be trimming his handsome salary, Uhuru rakes in a cool Kes 12.7 million per annum or Kes 1.06 million a month.

The President’s salary has seen him land at position 5 on the list. If you think Uhuru’s pay is a big deal, wait tell you see what Cameroon’s Lion Man takes home.

Paul Biya, Cameroonian President, is the ‘lowest’ paid Chief Executive in the continent, he earns peanuts as basic salary, Kes 20,807 a month.

Wait a minute! His tulittle allowance though, totally INSANE! Biya banks Kes 58.8 million a year or Kes 4.9 million a month. (Allowance)

Now am confused! I don’t comprehend how someone is the lowest paid yet at the same time he harvests millions.

Well, number as I said will make you scratch your head…

I can’t understand in my wildest fantasy how the President of Somalia topped this list. I would beg to differ but numbers don’t lie, the Somali leader pockets a staggering Kes 144.6 million a month.

How can a leader of a country that has been the theater of war for the last two decades be earning so much?

That’s sheer absurdity, anyway check out the full list below:

1. Hassan Sheikh Mohamoud, Somalia Kes 144.6 Million

2. Paul Biya, Cameroon Kes 4.9 Million

3. Jacob Zuma, South Africa Kes 2.1 Million

Meanwhile, that man AND his girlfriend are laughing at your thirsty ass–together. That’s what you need to know. Have a little self-respect.

Dangerous Shots Fired: Huddah Monroe And Vera Sidika Viciously Attacked By An Upcoming Socialite

Vera Sidika and Huddah Monroe are the two most established socialites in Kenya after making their debuts early enough before the practice had taken roots in the 254.

The two have gone ahead to do crazy things for themselves all in the name of living up to the demands of the ever expanding and demanding practice in the world.

Vera in particular altered her physical appearance, embracing a skin bleach passionately and enlarging her boobs and adding some fresh to her body to spot a completely new look.

Huddah on the other hand has not done much to spot an improved look but much has happened in her life all in the name of becoming an attractive socialite with high demand.

Despite all their efforts to look more appealing, upcoming socialite Pesh has taken shots at the two, giving them the worst taste and giving them a close shave that will definitely leave them bald-headed.

Pesh has criticized the two for altering their physical appearances to impress and said that a real socialite should not bleach and enlarge boobs to attract more people.

She went ahead to say:

P Unit’s Gabu Is Mad. Really Mad. Find Out What Is Pissing Him Off

Gabu aka Buganya has taken to the public to spew out his rage. The rapper is claiming his hard earned cash is being misused by people he’s had a grouse with for long now.

The hustle is hard for Kenyan artists, misappropriating their money will surely be met with justified backlash.

P Unit’s Gabu decided to give MSCK a piece of his mind after he smelt something fishy in the way the music regulatory body was (mis)handling artists’ money.

Such allegations are likely to deal a heavy blow on the newly elected MSCK leadership and rekindle earlier mistrust that existed between artists and the music regulatory body.

Bunganya claims MSCK is using artists’ money to run white elephant projects. And also says MSCK should be answerable to member’s money.

Below is what Gabu wrote:

It’s until now that we get info that the monitoring system MSCK put in place is not working and we need a new one? MCSK and the monitoring system provider should be answering why the member’s money was used to pay for a system that does not work. Hence the importance for an audit. MCSK cannot be collecting money on behalf of members, spending it and auditing themselves … We are surely brighter than that. We sit on boards of other societies and know how the systems work. When is the last time MCSK published a governance report as required by law …

What Is Ugandan Heart Throb Maurice Kirya Doing With Lupita Nyong’o?

Lupita Nyong’o was in East Africa recently shooting her latest film “Queen of Katwe” on location in Uganda. “Queen of Katwe” is a film based on Uganda’s chess prodigy Phiona Mutesi.

While there, she hanged out with Kansiime and Ugandan stud Maurice Kirya and she apparently dined at the musicians’ hotel in Uganda.

“I have met Lupita a couple of times in Kampala recently. But we have limited our conversations to professional stuff. She is a very good actress and has very big things coming up. She is East African and we all appreciate her and what she is doing. As an actor, it would be an honour to act with her on the same set,” he said to Word is.

INSIGHT: How Rapper DNA Hijacks Other People’s Songs And Makes Them Sound Like His Own

Rapper DNA has a smart way of taking over people’s songs and making them sound like his own. While listening to the ‘Welle Welle’ remix, I kept on wondering how he managed to convince Timmy, the original owner of the song to give him two semi-choruses as well as a verse yet other featured artistes just got one verse each.

DNA was invited to Timmy and Rap Damu’s turf, and proceeded to spray-paint his name all over it. Maybe he bullied the guy. But that’s not the first time DNA has taken over a track that wasn’t his. He’s the don of that kind of venture. He’s domineering and hard to ignore. And that’s a good thing.

Over the years, DNA has kept on crushing the unspoken rules of a guest rapper. While the ‘Welle Welle’ remix shook up the showbiz scenes last month thanks to DNA and king Kaka’s versess, recent history is littered with overbearing of the former Grandpa rapper’s cool but lyrically deprived verses taking over a song. Here’s some of the best examples of artistic undermining by DNA …

Dumbala remix

Wanasema dumba kumbe ni jasho.” I don’t know what DNA means with this lyric. Still, he manages to be the most memorable voice in a scattered and forgettable remix. Jay A, the owner of the track raps like a high school kid at a Debate Club funkie. The rest of the rappers seem lost. DNA rules it

dna2222

Fimbo/Chapa

Although this is clearly the end product of a record label meeting gone awry never let it be said that Grandpa Records doesn’t support young talent. The label knows how to drive traffic, and this lump of saccharine bubblegum pop full of lost rookies was never going to be too difficult for DNA to save. He did, show the power of a good rap cameo to garner a reaction. Even if most of it was open-mouthed incredulousness. This was meant to be a group song but it ended up a DNA song

Kamua Leo

Although it would pain Kidis to admit it, DNA stole his crown on his breakout song. On his verse, the kingpin of easy-flow music invites us into his world of aspirational living and partying, just after Kidis has invited us into his world of newcomer seriousness. He gives us a change of pace, cementing his position as this generation’s heist king

Una

The guest verse holds a legendary level of importance in music. It’s often through featured appearances that new stars are minted and current ones reassert their dominance. At the time P-Unit, released this jam, DNA had just emerged and he was more than eager to show why he was the boss

Verdict? Quite simply, it’s always exciting to hear a talent shine outside of the confines and comfort of their own solo work. Even though his lyrics aren’t bulky enough to be marvelous, DNA has saved many songs that would otherwise have been whack. And he does this through hard work and the desire to remain relevant.

This is the Next Big Tune in the Gospel Industry

When Jimmy Gait released ‘Mzuka Huu’, it became an instant hit that got massive airplay across both mainstream media, the internet and YouTube. He then released ‘Neno Moja’ which also became a hit. Now he is back again with another single, titled ‘Lokole’. The brand new single is meant to be a prayer for everyone who is going through a situation but still hold the belief that God will visit you and change the situation, so they would experience God’s power.  Gait has been one celebrated gospel singer who barely lets the dust settle before he releases another song while staying to his much quoted objective ‘changing things’ in the music sector.

One thing that I believe will likely to captivate you from the new single is  the dance beats, clarity of the video itself and Jimmy Gaits signature melody. The song has been produced by Teddy B.

Already the song has been embraced by most radio stations and is already enjoying massive airplay.

Keep it Ghafla, for the audio to be released soon.

That aside, Gait is headed to Germany on Friday for a tour as well as business.

Octopizzo Opens Up About His First-born Daughter Like Never Before. Very Touching Indeed!

Lately, Kenya’s all-time top rapper Octopizzo has been opening up about some of the people who have been so influential and crucial in his life and family.

The hip hop maestro started with celebrating his two house helps who he said have been there for his kids every time he is away with his wife, and said that they are the best nannies anyone would have.

In fact Octopizzo became the first celebrity to public shower praises on their house helps.

And now the singer has yet again revealed a secret he has always kept to himself about his first-born daughter.

Tracy (name of the daughter) was born pre-maturely in 2009 when Octopizzo was a nobody and had no money in his pockets.

The little girl was put in an incubator in Pumwani Maternity home and the bills accumulated up to KES 18,000. Octopizzo had only KES 200 and had no way out.

It was his best friend’s girlfriend who came to his rescue and paid all the bills to get Tracy out of the hospital.

Forget The Round Abouts And Drums, This Is Why Kidero Is On His Knees Apologising To Kenyans Yet Again!

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero is on the spotlight yet again after making news with his drums and roundabouts a few months ago.

It is hitting Kidero that being a boss of a city of this magnitude comes with heavy and demanding responsibilities and perhaps this explains why the governor is so apologetic to Kenyans.

The capital has been soaked in water after heavy torrential rains pounded the grounds, saddening everything and flooding the city.

Kenyans have been sleeping on their wheels as floods cover major roads, putting their lives and daily endevours in jeopardy.

Many have blamed the county government for laxity. They say that the flooding is due to poor drainage in the city and that Kidero’s government seems to be doing nothing to deal with the problem.

Kenyans have lost lives and property thanks to the heavy downpour and this has prompted Kidero to tender a heartfelt apology to Nairobians, promising them immediate action to get lead of the problem.

Kidero said:

Good morning Nairobi, first and foremost my sincere condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones as a result of the current heavy rains.

On behalf of the County Government I would like to express my sympathy to those who have lost properties, commuters in Nairobi who have spent hours in traffic, school children who have been stranded as a result of the heavy down pour experienced in the last two days.

It is worthy to note that In two days we had 10% of the annual rainfall150mm of the 1870mm in 365 days. This is worse than El Nino rains experienced in Nairobi in 1997.

I would like to assure Nairobians that the county government in collaboration with KURA and KENHA are doing their best to unclog all blocked drainage systems in the City to ensure smooth and efficient flow of water. We are also liaising with the Meteorological department closely to share with us the actual rainfall forecast for the coming days inorder for us to advise Nairobians accordingly as well as the traffic police commandant to ensure flow of traffic is manageable during this period.

Again my sincere apologies to all Nairobians who have lost their loved ones, lost properties, spent long hours in traffic as a result of the rains. We continue to work towards the Nairobi we all want.

‪#‎BetterCityBetterLife‬

The question still remains, is this the usual empty rhetoric politicians make to escape the wrath of angered Kenyans? Definitely yes. They have done this before and this will not be any different.

Journalists Across The Media Divide Team Up To Mock Njoki Chege After She Attacked The Star’s Oliver Mathenge

Nation columnist Njoki Chege has been making headlines since last weekend after she penned a teary piece in her column bashing and mocking the Star newspaper’s Oliver Mathenge over what she termed as mannerless idiocy of displaying his status on the social media.

Njoki did not directly mention Oliver’s name but the jibe was directed to him considering that Oliver is a proud husband to his newly married wife and has flaunting her on the social media recently.

It seems Njoki’s article rubbed the media fraternity shoulders the wrong way as her fellow journalists have come out blazing with anger and fury.

It all started with former Star and current Standard writer Nzau ya Musau posting a picture of himself with his wife in the car headed for work.

nzau

Nzau captioned the photo saying:

Just me n my beautiful wifi swimming our way to work in our “duppy conqueror” jalopy this morning. This one is a special dedication to njoki chege, akule hii kwanza. Someone help me craft suitable hashtags.

And he went ahead to tag several other writers from different publications, among them Oliver Mathenge himself and the Star’s Gracey Kerongo.

It is here that the fire was ignited and the journalists went on to roast Njoki Chege with a number of hashtags all aimed at telling her off.

Here is a sample of the comments they gave:

Is The Sonko Rescue Team Lying ? Who Really Rescued The Makini School Students From Raging Floods?

The floods in Nairobi are CRAZY, especially for people in South B and T-Mall just to name a few.

I hear Ngong’ Road was a huge mess too. Yesterday some students from Makini School became stranded for 10 hours after their bus got stuck in the middle of a flood. But thanks to the Redcorss rescue team, the students were rescued, alive and well. This is according to credible dailies.

An excerpt from the star

But Sonko claims that his rescue team saved the kids….

sonko_r_t.jpg

Watu Wangu,

We thank God. Our Sonko Rescue Team Swimmers and Divers with the help of other Public Members managed to rescue all the Makini School Kids whose Bus was being swept away by the Floods due to heavy rains Last Night.

The situation was complicated but we are happy that No life was lost. Thanks too to all those who were far but still continued to pray for the Children.

*My Word of Caution to School Patrons, Religious Institutions and Other Staffs/Groupings is that; Avoid Late Hour Trips especially during this rainy season as it endangers the lives of all those travelling.

May God Continue to Protect the Children who were in the incident and Give them good health even after spending hours in the cold rainy waters.

Blessed Wednesday Wote!!

Hmm…something fishy is going on. The diving into the murky, raging floods sounds too far fetched for me.

Caroline Mutoko Will Be Peeved If You Called Her Carol’ Now Judge Ian Reveals How We Should Address Him

Former radio Queen Caroline Mutoko has always expressed that she doesn’t want to be referred to as ‘Caro’ and calling her that will probably really piss her off.

She made it clear that she wants to be referred to as Caroline and now Judge Ina has come out to inform us how we should address him.

ian_mc.jpg

Pretty idle, so here goes: Please call me Ian. Just ‘Ian’. Not Mr. Ian (Mr NEVER goes with a first name alone. NEVER.) Don’t call me boss, mkubwa, mdosi, mheshmiwa, or any other title that many enjoy being called. Don’t try get my attention by saying, ‘kssssssssss’ or ‘wewe’ as I WILL ignore you. Just call me Ian. Don’t ask me how I am unless you REALLY want to know. If you do, be prepared for my truthful answer. I don’t do the expected, booooooring ‘good’, or, ‘fine’, If I say hi, please don’t tell me how you are. I didn’t ask. Thank you for your time. Good evening

This Is The Hilarious Vehicle On Kenyan Roads Doing Rounds On The Internet (Photo)

One truck has attracted the eyes of Kenyans, in as much as folks are laughing their lungs out at sight of the vehicle, the owner will certainly have the last laugh if heavens continue opening.

A monster Prado truck spotted on the roads of Nairobi is currently the talk of social media. The sheer size of the improvised vehicle has stunned Kenyans who couldn’t hide their laughter.

The truck is almost twice the height of a normal SUV with extremely large wheels and suspension. The car dwarfed all other vehicles that were within its vicinity.

The plate is equally conspicuous, ‘Mr. Karanja’. While Kenyans are making fun of Mr. Karanja’s ride, the dude seemed to have been adequately prepared for the heavy downpour experienced in Nairobi.

Last night parts of the city were flooded and we saw some vehicles getting submerged, this is where Mr. Karanja’s truck comes in handy.

It seems that road monster was specially designed to deal with such kind of situation, it can’t get stuck like others vehicles.

Oh! All those teasing Mr. Karanja should also know the guy is loaded, notice the personalized plate? To get one you will be parting with a million bucks, the ninja is no ordinary hustler. Lanes!!!

Sorry Ladies, Grab Your Handkerchiefs And Cry Because Eric Omondi Has Gotten Himself A Hot Foreign Woman (EVIDENCE)

Ladies and gentlemen. Sorry…..I meant ladies and ladies. I want you all to stand up and applaud for someone. I know ya’ll might be feeling ‘kiwaru’ in your throats right now but it’s always good to BE NOBLE AND acknowledge defeat. Donge?

Because dating a Kenyan woman is too mainstream, Comedian Eric Omondi seems to have gotten himself a mamii from foreign locales. I don’t know if she’s Colombian, Mexican, Italian or Portuguese because when you listen to her talking, you don’t pay attention to the words. You are simply abducted by her perfect vocals and locked up in a cage of delicious delight.

Yesterday evening, Eric posted four videos of him and the mysterious lady teaching each other their respective languages while looking really comfortable on a couch. As premature as it may sound, I must say Congratulations amigo. Felicitations omera!! If a wedding ever happens, the chicken with the fattest legs is mine.

But what caught me is the lady’s smile. The smile I tell you. The smile and the accompanying laughter. Move away from her smile and you’ll notice her burnished complexion. A pair of arched eyebrows look down on her sweeping eyelashes. Her delicate ears frame a button nose. A set of dazzling, angel-white teeth gleam as she blows gently on her carmine-blue fingernails. It’s a pleasure to see her flowing, moon shadow-black hair. Her enticing, constellation-dark eyes gaze at the camera over her puffy, heart shaped lips. Her lips are pink and enticing. She has a bouncy personality and a sugary voice, which I adore. The description can fill more pages than a Robert Ludlum novel.

Now I have broken the commandment that says ‘Do not covet your neighbor’s wife.’ But she’s not really his wife yet isn’t she? So I might be forgiven for the resurgence of my thirst claptrap Maybe all the ‘Eric Omondi utaoa lini’ talk will subside now. Through the videos, Eric seems to be sending a message. He seems to be conveying the message “look here bishes, I am a taken man now.”

Maybe Eric has decided to settle down as a spiritual cleansing of sorts. Settling down with a foreign woman seems like a respite from the drudgery of assembling a gazillion Kenyan groupies who kept on reminding him him why he is a star in the first place. Even lions get tired of chewing gazelle flesh all the time.

But let’s also not rule out the fact that this is just the same old classic Eric Omondi. The insinuations of him settling down might just be a farrago of nonsense. Eric loves posing with beautiful women – all the time. he even gave Huddah a semi-kiss. You know the saying’ pose with a beautiful woman to attract beautiful women’? Yes? No? I don’t know it either. But asking Eric Omondi to settle down is like asking Mswati to be monogamous. – never gonna happen. Well, unless the good lord decides it’s miracle time.

REVEALED: The Results Are Out! Here’s What Your Favorite Kenyan Socialites Got In High School…(Mean Grade)

I meant the High School of Life…I,as Larry Madowo would say, intentionally forgot to add that part. But did you die? No. Good…so come with me. And let’s see who scored most. And who floundered like they mama.

Kenya’s entertainment scene is inundated with all manner of shisha-smoking,barely-clad,body-baring and globe-trotting social misfits collectively called ‘Socialites’…Never mind that, unlike real Socialites, the likes of Paris Hilton and Olivia Palermo, who are bound to inherit billions from their family enterprises, our socialites weren’t born into wealth. And won’t die in it either.

Ours is just a collection of attention-seeking,social media-mad narcissists who will flaunt anything and everything they’ve acquired-nay,traded-like there’s no tomorrow. But going by their lifestyles, there really may not be a tomorrow.

But it’s time to separate the proverbial wheat from the chaff.

Whose tha Baddest? Whose the illest in this game? Whose the bestest!!? And whose plain sick in the head and needs psychiatric rest?

Come with me. And let’s rate these “Boss Ladies”. (Insert laughing emoji)

‘Violent Carjacking And Kidnapping’ Caught On Camera in Nairobi’s, Westlands

Carjacking is one of the most common crimes in Kenya with people being robbed sadistically, raped or killed in the hands of their assailants.

It’s every driver’s nightmare. So imagine it’s your birthday and you are looking forward to a night of celebration and someone carjacks you and not only that they kidnap you and threw you into a van…blindfolded.

You do not know where you are headed to, until you are thrown out of the van, face on the floor begging for God’s salvation because who wants to die on their birthday?

Then you hear people yell “Surprise” then start singing “Happy Birthday”
Well this was their messed up albeit well meaning surprise a young man found himself in after his friends threw this surprise party at Sankara

Radio Personality Roasts Kidero Following Flooding In The City… Here Is What He Told Him

The capital city has been experiencing heavy rains that have led to flooding and tragedies among them death and injuries.

The latest was the death of 10 people in South B after a wall collapsed and buried them as they went around their duties along it.

It is also reported that the city has been flooding thanks to poor drainage in Nairobi County.

Kenyans are said to spend the night along Ngong Road as there was massive flooding, rendering the ever busy road impassable.

This has greatly angered Nairobi residents among them Capital FM’s Joe Muchiri who has taken to his social media account to blast Nairobi County boss Dr. Evans Kidero.

Muchiri has wondered why a city like Nairobi would have poor drainage yet Nairobians elected leaders to look into such issues.

He said:

Again what is a #Kidero SMH it’s primitive & backward for a city like Nairobi to be having a drainage problem yet we have “Leaders”

Why Comedian Sleepy’s Birthday Will Go Down In History As One Of The Greatest On Kenyan Soil

Lots of celebrities celebrated their birthdays this May, from the likes of Avril, King Kaka, Chipukeezy and now Sleepy.

On Monday, Chipukeezy was a hot topic on news outlets thanks to what he did prior to his birthday.

Yesterday, Chipu’s fellow comedian, Sleepy, turned a year older. Unlike Chipukeezy’s birthday which was overhyped on social media, Sleepy’s was a low tone event but it had far reaching effect.

Sleepy demonstrated a new and acceptable way of celebrating birthdays. The comedian decided to celebrate his big day with the less fortunate.

Sleepy visited Mama Fatuma Children’s Home in Eastleigh to share the joy of clocking another year with the kids there. He was accompanied by Bahati, Owago, Eddie Butita, Obinna among others.

The comedian carried his birthday cake to the Children’s home, it was the kids that sang him birthday song as he cut the cake.

Erick Omondi, Amos And Josh Team Up To Give Obama A wonderful Welcome… Here Is What They Did

Comedian Eric Omondi is known to remix songs done by other artistes, of course with their consent, to give them a completely new and sweet look.

His parodies on various songs are also entertaining and captivating. It seems Eric has given comedy a break as seen recently and ventured more and more into music.

He recently remixed Shali Martin’s Rafiki Pesa using Diamond’s Number One beats and the song quickly gathered moss and traction countrywide.

And now Erico is at it again. This time round he has teamed up with Amos And Josh, TPF 6 finalists who are making it big in music after the reality show projected them to fame, to remix their song Baadaye as they welcome Obama to Kenya.

The US president has indicated that he will be visiting the country in July this year and this is a way Kenyans are bracing themselves for the same.

Here is a section of the remix which Eric shared on his instagram account:

‘CNN Marketplace Africa’ Explores the Growth of African Telecommunications, This Week Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore Got Featured

The Telecommunications business in Africa is vibrant and highly competitive. In the last five years, the continent has had the fastest telecoms growth in the world.

This week, ‘CNN Marketplace Africa’ reports from Kenya, a country where roughly 80 percent of the population subscribe to a mobile service.

Safaricom Limited is the largest telecommunications company in the country, with an annual revenue of more than ten million dollars

Safaricom’s CEO Bob Collymore, reveals to ‘Marketplace Africa’ how important mobile services are in Kenya: “People will often sacrifice on the quality and the quantity of the food they eat but will not sacrifice on how much they spend on the mobile phone because it’s an essential part of their daily lives.”

Collymore says that the growth is attributed to understanding the micro nature of the economy: “Here we allow you to buy airtime for as little as 5US cents and that’s what made the difference. In Kenya we call it the kidogo economy… the kidogo economy means that people buy things one cigarette at a time. You go to some places, it’s a squeeze of toothpaste at a time not a tube of toothpaste; and we responded to that. 99 percent or more of our customers are paying as they go.”

Eight years ago, Safaricom created a mobile based money transfer platform known as M-Pesa. The service is believed to be used by 21 million people who Collymore say conduct “a million transactions a day”.

This service is used in various ways: “It’s now being used for all sorts of things, it’s being used to pay micro-insurance, its being used for savings and loans, its being used for aid, so If an AID agency wants to distribute money directly to the beneficiary they’re using the mobile phone to do that and has had a critical impact in growing economic activity.”

The platform was previously hosted in Germany but delays there slowed the service, and   motivated Safaricom to move the platform to Kenya which offers twice the speed in connectivity.

Collymore explains to Marketplace Africa’: “We spent several millions of dollars undoing this and now we are seeing faster transactions. It used to take about six seconds to complete a transaction, now it’s taking about three seconds to do that, so we’ve halved the time and now we have a platform that we can start to build some real cute functionality.”

Dr. Fred Matiangi, who works at Safaricom, discusses the impact of mobile banking in Kenya, telling the programme: “Today in Kenya, you can check your account with the national social security fund very easily from the comfort of your house. So that M-Revolution as it were is the focal point around which innovation has grown in our country and continues to thrive as it were.”

The increase in mobile capabilities is allowing companies like Safaricom to step into sectors they haven’t before. Collymore tells ‘Marketplace Africa’: “We think there are opportunities which could be presented by the digital migration that we are seeing across the continent. So we think there’re lots of opportunities rather than being distracted by moving across into different geographies at this stage.”

Collymore concludes ‘Marketplace’ Africa saying: “We use the phrase ‘going beyond the limits.’ It’s by going beyond the limits that we went into mobile money; it’s by going beyond the limits that we are now looking at the opportunities around digital migration.

‘CNN Marketplace Africa’ was seen yesterday at 0730 on CNN, DSTV Channel 401

Shaniqwa Caught Flirting With A Super Hot Chick In Public

Sassy KTN socialite, Shaniqwa, has been ‘trapped’ by the alluring beauty of some girl he landed his eyes on, Team Mafisi will equally be mesmerized.

Just to set the record straight, Shaniqwa isn’t gay neither is he a girl, there have been a lot of murmuring touching on his sexuality.

Now that we are reading from the same page, the ‘cheap’ socialite was struck by beauty, one that he couldn’t let loose without waxing lyrical about her.

Shaniqwa is openly salivating for some lass that made his blood boil this chilly Wednesday morning. The socialite was first to admit the girl’s beauty made her have undying crush for her.

Talking of crush, today is Women Crush Wednesday (#wcw) just in case you forgot. The kasocial ‘holiday’ where users post photos of women that they find attractive or have a crush on.

Oh! This is why Shaniqwa could afford to flirt with the chick in public. She is one fine girl that most men will agree deserves 10 over 10 rating.

Check her out below and rate her:

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Benefactor (The Otonglo Boy)’s Mother Among Those Hospitalised After A Wall Collapsed On Them In South B

Remember the Otonglo boy who left President Uhuru Kenyatta in stitches in 2014 with his acting prowess in drama festivals in Mombasa?

Well, the boy who the president promised to educate to University level is a sad one after rumours surfaced that his mother is among those admitted in Nairobi West hospital after a wall collapsed in South B killing 10 people and injuring many more others.

The heavy torrential rainfall pounding the bear surface of the capital has left everything sodden and weak, flooding roads due to poor drainage and bringing walls and buildings down.

The latest incident is the perishing of 10 Kenyans after a wall collapse in South B, burying anyone near it.

According to blogger Robert Alai, among those caught in the unfortunate incident is mother to Daniel Owira, famously known as the Otonglo Boy, a high school student who made headlines with his narrative Otonglo Times.

This information is yet to be confirmed but as it has been before, Alai is among the few most updated bloggers around.

Obama Speaks Out After A US Professor Advised Him Not To Visit Kenya. Here Is What He Said

Obama’s announcement that he will be visiting Kenya come July has elicited mixed reactions around the globe with many wagging their tongues about the possibility of a sitting head of American government making a grand entry into Kenya for the first time in close to a century.

Obama’s promise to visit Kenya has been received so well by Kenyans who believe that the US is in appreciation of the Kenyan system of government while some Americans believe the president of the free world should not visit a country threatened by terrorists, thanks to the recent Garissa attack that left 148 people dead.

One of the people who have advised Obama to snub Kenya yet again is Professor Robert I. Rotberg who penned an opinion in an American blog Politico.Com explaining that Kenya is not a safe haven for a person of Obama’s caliber to visit.

Rotberg argues that it will cost America colossal sums of money to guarantee Obama enough security and that visiting a country that is ethnically divided considering his father comes from the Luo community that is in constant wrangles with the Kikuyu community will farther fuel ethnic schism.

Rotberg has since received a rejoinder from blogger Dikembe Disembe.

And now Obama has spoken out yet again about his visit to Kenya.

Speaking to a group of entrepreneurs drawn from across the world at the White House on Monday, President Obama said promoting transformative entrepreneurship among women and youth the world over, is a critical part of his administration’s diplomatic agenda and the sixth Global Entrepreneurship Summit to be held in Nairobi in July, and which he is expected to attend, is in line with that policy.

“There are brilliant young people and hard working women and innovative thinkers in communities all around the world but they haven’t been given the chance yet and together we can make sure that anybody who’s got the creativity and drive to work hard no matter where they come from, what they look like, what their background is, they get a fair short at pursuing their dreams,” Obama added.

His statement is a clear indication that his visit to Kenya is a reality despite opposition from a section of ignorant individuals who view Kenya as no safe a place.

Tired Of Flaunting Cash And Flashy Rides, Sonko Now Takes His Flamboyance To Airplane (Photos)

Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, is the king of flossing; from golden blings to customized vehicles, he knows it all. Now the sensational legislator has upped his game, Mtu Nguyaz is taking on the sky!

Sonko ought to be an artist rather than a politician, a week can’t pass by without the Nairobi Senator making headlines round the entertainment circle!

Sonko has flaunted everything with exception of a plane, he doesn’t own one, not yet! The flamboyant politician has however taken his ostentatiousness to aviation industry.

Not only did he pose for a photo in a plane, Sonko also claims he is now a highly qualified pilot.

“Watu wangu i’m proud to announce that i’m now a highly qualified pilot. The 1st flying politician in Africa.” The proud Senator wrote.

Was Sonko secretly attending aviation classes or was he just pulling our legs? Well, if his words are anything to go by, then the Nairobi Senator is the man! (Though I strongly think Sonko was just blowing his own horn.)

Wait, Did Betty Kyalo Finally Get Married (officially) To Dennis Okari??

The apple did not fall far from the tree. Betty Kyalo’s daughter is a miniature version of her Mum. The resemblance is uncanny, like a mother who has been overwhelmed by the joys of motherhood, the sassy KTN news achor never lets a moment pass without catching mischief with her 10 month old daughter.

The KTN presenter is grooming her daughter Ivana to be like her father, Dennis Okari. In the below photo she dressed her daughter in her fathers ensemble…

That ladies and gentlemen is half the story.

Betty and Dennis Okari have not  married officially despite having a baby together.  But have  they been  living together as husband and wife all along? Was this photo a deliberate way of  telling  us (in a veiled manner) That the couple is married? Or where did Betty get these clothes that the daughter is wearing?? From her husbands wardrobe of course!

With a string of melodic Swahili songs like Jana Usiku, Kookoo and Hapo Zamani, Elani have established themselves as one of Kenya’s hottest music groups.

The three are so good that they were picked for the 3rd season of Coke Studio Africa so you should expect them on your screen soon.

While we await their debut at C.S.A, the three have something pretty dope for their fans, they collaborate with a talented musician called Chikwaza for what is slated to become one of the hottest gospel tracks this year.

So how did Elani find this musician? You ask?

We met Chikwaza at Daystar University when he performed a few of his songs for us during a talk we gave at the school. We were blown away by his talent, his commitment to his craft and above all his love for God.

After Leaving Wedding Show, Sarah Hassan Joins A New Show

After about 2 years at Kenya’s premier wedding show ‘The Wedding Show’, Sarah Hassan left the Citizen TV Show. This is because the station did not renew her contract.

Now Sarah Hassan is now part of the cast of Stay on KTN.

STAY is a Kenyan TV series that touches on the cultural differences surrounding interracial dating. It revolves around the life of Nubia (played by Mkamzee Mwatela) who, against all odds, must make her relationship work with Shane (played by Jason Corder). But will it?

We have Nico (played by Gerald Langiri), who is Shane’s loyal driver and confidant, at least up until Shane’s mother (played by Carol Dunlop) arrives unexpectedly in Kenya to visit Shane. And she has come with her own marriage plans and the wife she wants for his son. To her surprise, Shane is already dating a black woman.

The schemes, plans and comical drama that unfolds next to try and break Nubia and Shane’s relationship are nothing short of eyeball-glueing as you will be hooked to your TV.” reads their description on Facebook.

Here is Sarah Hassan, Adelle Onyango and Kaz who are all part of Season 2 of Stay

Bam! Robert Alai Exposes His Biggest Enemy David Matsanga! (Evidence)

Robert Alai and David Matsanga, even though they don’t really see eye to eye are really peas in the same pod. They’re equally controversial, silly, brash, arrogant, noisy and foolishly fearless.

After many acid months of taking shots at each other, spitting at each other, hurling epithets at each other and getting on each others nerves,Alai has started off the month by firing the first salvo of many.

And it truly is a salvo…

Robert Alai, the social media activist and God-knows-what-else has now released a damning expose on his perennial nemesis,Matsanga.

And,it’s,eeeer,quite a gem.

According to Alai,or his sources,David Matsanga, the activist and ICC busybody has fathered a child out of wedlock and then proceeded to threaten his baby mama. And there’s SMS evidence of the same.

Alai also alleges that David Matsanga resorts to threats and insults whenever he is called upon to provide financial support for his baby mama and the child.

There’s quite a cache of screenshots of Emails and text messages between Matsanga and his baby mama that Alai has attached onto his blog post. A proof of just what an obnoxious man this ICC propagandist really is.

You can follow the story HERE as it was originally reported and check out the damning evidence in form of screenshots that Alai publicized.

Chicken,it seems,have come home to roost…
