No wonder Machakos County still tops the charts as the most developed one in Kenya. This is something that has not gone down well with some people but it seems the trained journalist is giving detractors a deaf ear.

Dr. Alfred Mutua is the most revered governor in Kenya today thanks to his development record that has seen his county remain at the top as the most developed in the country.

Despite in-house fighting in the county, (you know he does not see eye to eye with his deputy governor) the Machakos county governor is doing wonders in the Ukambani region, and this has seen him receive approbation from all quarters.

But if you thought you had seen enough, you are in for a rude shock. Mutua has once again stunned the country with one of the finest and well refurbished hospitals in Kenya.

Forget the likes of KNH in Nairobi and MTRH in Eldoret, Machakos county is the next destination for many patients from across the republic and beyond. (Now someone will say we are paid to do this…to hell with your negative thoughts).

The state-of-the-art hospital that Mutua has put up in Machakos has got everyone fascinated and lost for words.

Former Mother-In-Law’s sizzling hot actress, Celina, came out in one piece after the car she was in got involved in a road accident.

Catherine Kamau popularly known as Celina from her role in Citizen TV’s Mother-In-Law yesterday escaped unhurt after her German-made BMW threatened her life.

Ivy (Celina’s car) broke its front shock absorber while the actress was behind the wheels. The car hauled along the road before coming to a stop.

Lucky Celina wasn’t speeding otherwise it would have been another story altogether. She escaped the incident unhurt and she was quick to update the social media about her tragedy.

“Poor Ivy itabidi nihame Huku ushago. Was lucky I wasn’t speeding woiiiii I thank God” Wrote Celina.

The actress has since pulled down the post on her Instagram handle but not before we got hold of the photos she posted.

It is been three centuries or so since this woman of great value set foot in Kenya. Now we all know what she has done for the last 2 years or so. If you don’t know for sure you don’t belong to this country. Just burn your phone/PC, book a one way ticket to the Kenya-Somalia border, proceed further into the war-torn Somaliland and become a hermit.

Lupita won the Oscar for her stellar role in the film 12 Years A Slave. Then what followed after that has been glory and glory.

Recently, the US-based Kenyan was in Uganda to shoot yet another film. Kenyans felt quite bad that she just visited Museveni’s territory and ignored her motherland, Kenya.

They bashed her and demanded that she comes back to see her fellow Kenyans.

Reports indicate that Lupita is not back because you and I wanted her here but because her sister is being walked down the aisle by her man.

The actress’ visit is a highly guarded secret but believe it it has never happened in Kenya. That Lupita is in the country and nobody knows? No.  We all know she is around. 

The accent, the beauty and of course the brains are some of the features that any noble man would use to define Victoria Rubadiri if they were given an exam test to describe this sultry NTV anchor.

Very composed and effective in front of cameras, Vicky, as many call her, is a force to reckon with every time she steps into NTV studios to keep us up-to-date with the latest developments.

Well, forget everything she does at NTV. That by now we all know.

 Did you know that apart from being an NTV anchor Victoria Rubadiri has another job at the All Saints Cathedral Church?

Well, I guess you didn’t know unless you are an All Saints Cathedral goer.

Victoria’s prowess as a TV siren and her photogenic character prompted the church’s leadership to consider her for a job.

She is one of the announcers of church programmes for the giant Kenyatta Avenue- situated place of worship.

And by the way if you did not know, Victoria is saved and can’t trade anything for the salvation she has. She says that it is this salvation that has made her who she is and she is ready to stick to it to the very end.

Silas Mwenda, a versatile new singing sensation, started his journey to stardom after being discovered by Talanta Awards which he was crowned the Best Upcoming Artist at the 5th Edition of Talanta Awards in 2012.

Since then, it has been milestone after milestone for the soft-spoken and humble singer now an actor.

Silas made foray into the flourishing film industry last year after he was selected to feature in an amazing film called ‘Love Lilly’ which was shot in Denver Colorado, New Mexico and Los Angeles by Chesthut Films.

The 26 year old has just been featured in a money-spinning Pepsi TV commercial.

In the commercial, Silas plays the role of a football player and has just completed rehearsals for the main shoot slated for end of June in Seattle.

The Pepsi commercial, sponsored by US Airways, will air this fall during the season for American Football and will also be onboard all US Airways flights.

What a way to do things!

Yesterday, the head of state dominated headlines for various reasons. The dust is yet to settle on Uhuru because he did the unexpected and he is now a hot topic again!

Apart from his stint in Machaa, Uhuru also sparked gripping chitchat after details emerged he would be travelling to West Africa for the inauguration of Nigeria’s President Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, with a record breaking entourage.

The country’s second in command, William Ruto, will instead represent the head of state in Nigeria with a lean team of only nine people.

Uhuru is once again wagging on people’s tongues for his unforeseen action that has been greeted with lots of accolades.

But the big question is, who is this guy she is edging. 

A large part of the ‘Hapa Kule News’ cast was sent home recently. The fired cast mates claim that they were shown the door after they demanded a pay rise.

One of the peeved fired actors revealed that they got paid 8000 Kshs per month but their employers Protel Productions had promised a pay rise of up to 8,000 Kshs per episode in season 8 which translated to 32,000. Meaning that their salaries would have quadrupled. But this was not to be as their pleas for a higher wage resulted to them getting axed.

Those shown the door Mang’ondu, Ras Njoro, Afande Supu, Makulukulu and Muthiri are now receiving help from an unlikely source. Senator Boni Khalwale and Mutula Kilonzo have all intervened judging from some tweets, which you can check out below.

Julie Kaka has been wagging on people’s tongues ever since news broke that she had won best behind award at an event in London.

The Afro Models Awards which was held at Crown Moran hotel in London, last weekend, witnessed titanic behinds battling it out for the top prize.

Ugandan equivalent of Vera Sidika and Huddah Monroe put together ( buttwise) beat off competition from all over ‘well-endowed’ Africa and the Caribbean to scoop the prestigious bummy award.

The win just confirms the Ugandan has the most sought after bum in Africa, Corazon Kwamboka, Vera Sidika and others should stop posting their ‘little’ buttocks on social media and allow Julie Kaka to reign supreme.

The award is an annual events that recognizes and rewards and the contributions of individuals and organizations, both of African Caribbean and non-African Caribbean origins, towards the growth, development and empowerment of; fashion, modelling, creativity and personality.

Other categories on the award include; Best Newcomer Designer, Best Personality, Most Beautiful Model, Best Model Magazine, Best Fashion Event, Best Catwalk Model, Best Designer, Best Fashion Blogger, Best Triple Threat, Best Legs, Best Behind, Best Chest, Best Model Agency, Best Casting Site and Best Accessories Designer.

Joke gone totally bad! The King of comedy made a remark on Churchill Show that irked NTV news anchor.

Churchill got on the nerves of NTV’s Smriti Vidyarthi with his statement that was interpreted to be a racial slur.

Hold on, before I proceed with the whole story, today is throwback Thursday. The day that we unearth memories that once raised eyebrows.

Our #TBT spotlight today illuminates Churchill for the racial slur he made two years ago on his eponymous show.

Back to the part where the comedy giant ruffled Smriti’s feathers, Churchill was only cracking jokes when his tongue slipped.

“”Nani anaweza pronounce jina ya kale kamhindi hupresent news kwa NTV?” Asked Churchill on Toto’s Corner segment.

The eleven words uttered by Churchill was what landed him in a pit of hell fire. Smriti quickly responded to Churchill’s itchy words on Twitter.

The humorist was forced to pen an apology to the NTV anchor explaining how he never meant to take a shot at her with his words.

Hapa Kule News has axed almost its entire cast. The next time you will be watching the show on your screens be sure to be seeing lots of new faces.

Hapa Kule News, a show which airs on KTN on Tuesdays has decided to fire almost its entire cast after failing to reach an agreement on remuneration.

On speaking to one of the actors who was laid off, he says Protel TV and Studio (the studio that shoots the show) was paying them peanuts.

The disgruntled actor revealed they were being paid Kes 2000 per episode shot, meaning they were taking home Kes 8000 a month.

He goes on to tell Ghafla! they had agreed with their employer to be added an extra Kes 1000 for the cast of season 7 which ran from December last year to February 2015.

The cast was also to be paid Kes 8000 per episode for shooting of Hapa Kule season 8.

Their employer however forfeited their agreed payment plan insisting that they had to continue earning Kes 2000 since KTN wasn’t giving them ‘good’ money.

Since both sides weren’t ready to devise an acceptable compromise, Protel studio decided to fire the cast with exception of the bigwigs, Fred Omondi, Abel Mutua and Njugush.

Mang’ondu, Ras Njoro, Afande Supu, Makulukulu and Muthiri were all shown the door.

Ghafla! has also learnt Hapa Kule yesterday conducted an audition to scout and bring on board a new cast.
