It was just the other day that Ghafla Kenya ran a list of some of the most educated celebrities in the 254. But the most outstanding was gospel singer David Muthengi aka Holy Dave.

This man is a lover of books as his academic credentials depicted. He has almost almost everything except that PhD he has now enrolled in at the giant University of Nairobi. Holy Dave is destined for doctorate or something like professorship.

Well, seems he is not the only one who has an unquenched thirst for education and knowledge.

Another celebrated media personality has followed suit to fine tune his academic qualifications.

KBC’s Bonnie Musambi is the man who will be making trips to Daystar University lecture halls to fine tune his already glittering qualification as a media personality.

Ghafla Kenya has exclusively acquired documents showing Bonnie already enrolled at the prestigious institution of higher learning which has so far produced some of the finest media personalities to date.

Bonnie has been the perfect voice on both KBC radio and TV but it now seems he is not yet done with it. His desire to be better and to prepare himself for anything this crazy world offers has seen him once again return to class.

Ghafla Kenya contacted Bonnie for comment on the same and indeed he confirmed that he is going back to class to fine-tune his skills.

He, however, declined to reveal what exactly he will be doing at Daystar University.

Is he leaving his job at KBC? Hell no. He is still at KBC and will be attending classes as he works.

It was just the other day that NTV’s Yvonne Maingey resigned as a news anchor with the station to concentrate on her studies months after she had left her job at Gigil to join the Nation Media Group-owned TV station.

Bonnie’s case prompted us to question if he would also relinquish his position as presenter on radio and TV but he clarified it and said he would work as he studies.

Ghafla Kenya wishes Bonnie every trace of good luck as he quenches his thirst for knowledge.

Since she dropped her first Album called ‘Sacrifice ‘back in 2007, Alaine managed top capture the hearts of Kenyan who are die-hard dancehall fans.

The lady who is the proud owner of beautiful vocals jetted into the country last year for a sold-out performance and also visited the hottest Kenyan shows among term the trend. She also dropped by for a Churchill show.

And while there, Churchill recommended that Alaine should get herself a Kenyan man, preferably a Wafula. A Bukusu Darling for herself.

What started as a free style on the Churchill Show  ,became a long running joke on Twitter and now Alaine has included a song named ‘Wafula’  feturing Mwalimu Churchill to her new album. Ten of Hearts.

Hmm.. I guess Alaine has found her Wafula in a song.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has been embroiled in court battles with his political opponents wanting him to step down as governor because they don’t recognize his degree which he earned from Kampala International University.

The opponents have been to court more than ones to have Joho booted as governor on grounds that he has no degree, which is a requirement for one to become governor of a county.

Well, this has prompted Joho to enroll for a political science degree course at the University of Nairobi to save his gubernatorial seat.

Kenya Today, a local blog, has published a photo of Joho in class and says that the governor is very keen to get a degree to silence his detractors who have been on his neck all along.

Joho is governor of Kenya’s second largest economy but this has not shielded him from scrutiny over his academic credentials.

I have to admit when I first saw this image, my stomach turned forcefully .And I think it’s an image that will haunt me for a longtime.

We have heard of stories of Kenyans getting lured into slavery with promises of making a quick buck by brutal slave lords posing as employers. Photographs and video of girls being beaten while hanging upside down or being stabbed to death as well as images of men being tortured to death have been circulating on social media.

(I was about to go to bed when I received the sad news about this girl which has troubled me greatly. This young lady worked as a house help in Oman but was killed by her Boss because she wanted to go back home as she felt that she was being misused since she did a lot of work and was paid peanuts. The boss allowed her to go but he had ulterior motives, because he ambushed her and shot her in the head. Is this what we call humanity? )

Today, Kanze Dena, one of Citizen TV’s longest serving anchors, shares a photo taken with the likes of Kambua Manundu, DJ Soxxy and DJ Moz back in the days when they had not established themselves well at the Royal Media Services.

Kenya’s most learned socialite, Corazon Kwamboka, was taken aback by another ‘sufficiently endowed’ lady. Corazon had to take a bow for her.

The creator used a lot of clay in shaping up Corazon Kwamboka and her like. Her plus size body is exceptionally stunning.

The Kenyan socialite posted a tantalizing photo of her crush on her Instagram handle followed by an ambiguous statement.

“Love her body, but her eyes take me to heaven. My love Supawnm.” Wrote Corazon.

After a lot of anticipation, East Africa’s biggest mall, Garden City, is set to open today as stage one of the sprawling 32 acre project on Thika Highway nears completion.

Garden City promised “ Unique state-of-the-art design making maximum use of natural light and fresh air, and boasting the largest solar paneled carport in East Africa, the new mall promises to bring many ‘firsts’ to the Kenyan retail market.” Basically it promises paradise on earth.

But as they enjoy their grand opening , there is a crisis surrounding the mall, as it has been alleged  that the mall was built on donor money.

According to the The Guardian, CDC, formerly the Commonwealth Development Corporation uses British aid money to build malls, luxury hotels, gated communities and mega developments. They have invested in countries such as El Salvador, India, Mauritius and others.

An 84 delegation will be accompanying Uhuru to West Africa for the inauguration of Nigeria’s President Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, on the 28th to the 30th of this month.

That begs the question; how will the 84 senior government officials fly to Nigeria given that the presidential Jet, Fokker 70, has room for only 25 passengers?

Or maybe he will be escorted to Naija with more than a single jet???

This new development is already sending shockwaves in the country. As early as this morning and the social media has already started making jokes of the President trip to Nigeria.

Controversial blogger, Robert Alai, shared the names of all the top cream in government who will be heading to the land of Ogaa.

On Tuesday evening reports emerged that former Vice President and Funyula MP Moody Awori had died. The reports spread quickly like a bush fire and many took to the social media to condole with Awori’s family, relatives and friends.

Well, many believed these reports because as it looked, they came from a very credible source on twitter.

A twitter handle with the same name as that of Nation newspaper was the source of this information and many who saw the tweet about the alleged death of Awori believed everything.

But as it turned out yesterday, Awori is alive and kicking and the source of the news was a fake twitter account that does not belong to either NTV, Nation newspaper or its affiliates.

Nation came under scrutiny over the same and this forced them to clarify the matter through NTV, saying that they never tweeted such information and showed their verified twitter account.

Moody Awori has since appeared in public with his family members to clarify the matter. He was just another victim of social media murder.

Mzee Mulei Nganda was 98 when he made a request to meet the country’s fourth President. Three years have since passed for his dream to materialize.

Yesterday, the Commander-in-Chief visited Machakos County for official duties. Uhuru spared time amid his busy schedule to meet his old friend that had been dying to rub shoulders with him once again.

Mzee Mulei used to work for the Kenyattas during his youthful days, he was the first family’s designated chauffeur.

Mzee came into the public eye in 2013 when he was featured on KTN, he was narrating how he used to drop and pick Unye to kindergarten. He made a request of meeting his former ‘master’.

The President yesterday honored Mzee’s wish when he visited Machakos County. The two old buddies shared fun time rekindling past memories.

One of the gravest mistakes ever committed when the Nairobi city life went live on snapchat was the cluelessness and naivety  of the westerners. I was disturbed to learn that some Wazungus still think that Elephants roam freely in our streets as families in the village keep leopards and cheetahs as pets. Really? You can’t be that dumb. 

 Anyway, Nairobi got trolled nice and proper on the day it went live on snapchat. No amount of response would dilute the skewed mentality that the west had on Nairobi. Even more infuriating was when they posted a flag of Kenya Upside down.

The fact that Nairobi is the second city in Africa after South Africa to be on Snap Chat is not Consolation enough. 

The comedian has never shied away from airing his thoughts through his social media accounts. He would state what he feels and thinks fearlessly and still walk away with it.

Sleepy is also very exciting at times with his posts and sometimes we tend to think he is cracking a joke even when he means serious business.

Well, on this one, he seems serious than he has ever been before.

The comedian has been moved by what Huddah Monroe did early today and this has prompted him to shower praise on the socialite and show his love for her.

Huddah posted a photo of himself shopping in Kibera, a photo that went viral and attracted the attention of social media users.

It also captured the attention of Sleepy who sees this as simplicity and humility.

Kenyans in Taita Taveta County were treated to a spectacle after the president arrived in his presidential helicopter which was flunked by 12 other equally impressive helicopters.

In the aircraft were some cabinet secretaries, the vice president and other senior government officials. They had all come to inspect the Standard Gauge Railway which is looking pretty dope, it makes you forget that you are in a 3^rd world country .This move has however elicited backlash and been seen as a waste of taxpayers’ money as Kenyans felt that they could have used fewer choppers.

When the leader of a Sovereign nation humbles himself to the level of the commoners, the nonentities and the simpletons, it calls for celebration. I remember going through horrible time in high School. The food was bad, everytime the notorious cooks added a little too much kerosene, we would rise up in arms and demand for our rights, our Principal then, Mr .Nyagia would descend from his throne and walk to the dining hall, give a short speech and sit down with us to eat the bad food… though we could see him struggle mouthful after mouthful, the end justified the means. We ate the food and moved on.

Government propagandists yesterday found themselves in a quagmire after they issued two contracting statements following Yumbis attack.

Even though the government was quick to rectify the jumble, the impact on Kenyans was irreversible. Lots of folks dashed to the social media to spew their frustrations.

One of Kenya’s most prolific football teams, Gor Mahia is known for their rogue and overzealous fans that often cause havoc whenever there is a loss.

But Olunga is not just good on the pitch but is also a whiz when it comes to the books. The 21 year old striker scored an A in his K.C.S. E and is now a Geospatial Engineering student at the Technical University of Kenya. For those like me who do not know what Geospatial engineering is,it is a broad field that crosses multiple specialties that focuses on multiple dimensional mapping and organizing

Boda Boda transportation has become very popular in Kenya not only in remote areas but also in urban areas.

Especially because of their convenience and how they are able to meander through traffic and access in areas inaccessible by cars. They have become one of the main forms of transport in Kenya.

Western Kenya is famous for some of the weirdest incidences in the country. From heavy babies at birth to convoluted and twisted ceremonies, the region has year in year out been on the spotlight for both the good and bad reasons.

It was the other day that a mother in Bungoma gave birth to the second heaviest child in Kenya (6.3kgs). in 2014, the heaviest child was born in the region. He weighed 7 kgs.

Well, that aside, Vihiga County is on the spotlight once again after one of the rarest incidences occurred. It was a funeral services where a deceased man was being sent off.

But what stunned many a people and the media in general is the manner in which the funeral was conducted.

For the widow who was burying her husband, the funeral was her wedding day. She was forced to dress in a white wedding gown like she was wedding the corpse.

Mourners also thronged towns in the county, singing and dancing covering more than 20 kilometres. It was a mix of dance and rejoicing.

An attention whore  in simple Queen’s English is a girl on the internet who will do anything for attention.. often she will claim to have been raped, complain that she’s fat or no one likes her (fishing for compliments), post pictures of herself in her birthday suit  or just type provocative messages to members of the opposite sex in the hopes that one might not realize that she is just a fat attention whore. another common trick of the attention whore is to claim that she is bisexual or a lesbian. 

 Her name is Maura Malanga, a failed socialite attempt that is trying so hard to keep up with a world that has since forgotten her relevance. A Photo of two Aston Martin Vanquish has been doing rounds on the internet today. Kenyans seemed to be astonished to discover the British-made road monsters are owned by some ‘heavyweights’ from this country.

The two sports cars aren’t cheap, not at all, the guy/guys who bought them had to part with approximately Kes 27 million. That’s the price one has to pay to own the fine piece of British engineering.

Aston Martin are very iconic cars, James Bond (From popular fictional movies) always drives one in his movie.

Owning an Aston means one has already crossed the wide gap separating the filthy rich from folks struggling to meet their basic needs.

I don’t know how old Catherine Kasavuli is but she has been anchoring news since my parents were children. Yes, she has been in the game for that long and has not seemed to age one bit.

Before leaving for Royal Media services where she worked as a news anchor before retiring, Catherine Kasavuli honed her skills at KTN. And she was back to the station once more, but for the Friday briefing with Betty Kyalo…and she still looks good.

She should give us tips on how to remain youthful.

It was on January 4 precisely when the country woke up to very disturbing news of the sudden untimely demise of the eldest son to former premiere Raila Odinga and his wife Ida Odinga.

Nobody believed the news until it was confirmed by his family that indeed Fidel Odinga was no more.

And five months later Mama Ida Odinga has opened up about the death of her eldest son, Fidel Castro Odinga, a man many believed would inherit his father’s political dynasty.

Speaking to KTN Morning Express, Ida narrated how she was lost for words on learning of the demise of her son.

“The worst thing on earth is watching your son die helplessly,” Ida told KTN.

Ida narrated how she received a call from her daughter Rosemary who told her that Lwam Bekele, widow to Fidel, had called her crying that Fidel was not breathing that Sunday morning.

Ida screamed loudly, alerting his husband, Raila Odinga, who was in the gym that morning. The two quickly changed their gym gear and drove themselves to Fidel’s house which was a stone-throw away. They couldn’t find a driver that morning.

On arriving, they found an ambulance outside with its engine on and the paramedics were inside trying to resuscitate Fidel.

Finally, they gave up and told Ida and Raila that Fidel was DEAD!

This greatly broke their hearts. Raila narrated how he tried reaching out to everyone but their phones went unanswered. It was the longest day of their lives.

Finally it was official Fidel Castro Odinga was dead. Ida says the pain she underwent through has forced her to help mothers who lose their children because she understands what they go through.
