Last Sunday, controversial man of cloth, Bishop Apostle Kanyari ‘310’, lost his top of the class Range Rover to thieves.

The self-proclaimed doctor is once again making headlines thanks to his stolen Range Rover worth Kes 8 million.

310 came out of his Salvation Healing Ministry church in Kamkunji after dropping a sermon to his flock only to find his Range missing.

But the good Lord works in mysterious ways, there is no way a man of god can lose a fine piece of British engineering to mere thieves! Kanyari prayers worked miracle, the Range Rover was recovered. Can I get an amen!

Some two hours after the road monster was stolen, Buru Buru police officers found it along Kangudo Road.

The police say a woman and two men were behind the theft of Panda Mpegu’s classy ride. They added that the thugs escaped on foot as they shot in the air.

But how did police catch up with the thugs that stole Kanyari’s vehicle? Apparently the SUV had tracking device which assisted the cops to pin point its precise location.

So you can bet there was no miracle at play in the Range Rover’s recovery!

Last night, Citizen TV’s screen siren, Janet Mbugua, made her way back to the screens to anchor news alongside her colleague, Hussein Mohamed.

Yester night’s prime time news was perhaps the most captivating one of recent times. Hussein Mohamed took Janet by the horns indirectly urging her to tell viewers she was expecting a bundle of joy.

“Tell us what you have been eating to be this big.” Hussein was heard making fun of Janet.

The persistent Hussein eat up a considerable chunk of the first minutes of news bulletin just making a monkey out of Janet.

At one point, Hussein even asked Janet to lift up the paper that she was holding which was blocking her protruding belly so that viewers could get a clear view of her baby bump.

Janet however didn’t bulge to Hussein’s demands, she went on to anchor news like nothing had happened!

Twerk, before the loonies took it  and scandalized it, was an African thing. It was a form of identity in the villages, women got value from it. It was a harmless pastime  before it went viral and global. And now every nook and crevice is teeming with bikini clad booty, twerking in reckless abandon. .. I need a drink. 

But while at it. It might be crucial to give twerkers some airplay. I mean this is the least we could do to appreciate the efforts. Making that booty bob up and down is no mean feat. It requires energy, drive and self esteem.

Last month, we had to contend with the global troll that made Nairobi look like a little, pathetic city in the corner of some un-discovered realm. It was the  night that Nairobi went live on popular app, Snapchat. I was particularly peeved that some westerners were so naive to think that we kept lions and leopards as pets..Really? Retards much? 

 But then again, like the hospitable lot we are, we moved on, un-deterred by what the age old norms have taught us to call “the eyes of the frogs that stop not the cow from partaking in a stream” –  we latched onto the new cool, the netflix series, that the media had erstwhile reported would put Kenyan on the world map. (as if we’d die if it didn’t).The sense8 was on all levels, the coolest thing after Lupita’s debut on hollywood. If featured , among random derelict estates within Nairobi the legendary Ngara, globe roundabout. 

But while we may have been happy at being on the world map, turns out that we were put out there in a skewed frame. The series (this is a spoiler) portrays Nairobi as a dangerous place, teeming with evils, drugs, aids and hunger. 

I mean, they even missed the fact that Nairobi, the city under the sun, is one of the only cities with a game park within its demarcations? And how dare they miss the socialites? And parliament? What about Uhuru park, or central park? Did you people even sample the nyamchom at the Njuguna’s?

But. People see what they love to see. You might want to see the series. The plot is awesome.. The Nairobi parts? Not completely un-palatable. 

If it might interest you,The show has a respectable 8.4 rating on IMDB and a 4.1 on netflix out of 400,000 votes not bad for a series that is barely a month old.

For a few people its love at first sight for others it’s a working progress.

So was Lulu Hassan’s first meeting with her current husband love at first sight? Well it was actually love at first ‘sound’ as Rashid first came across Lulu Hassan’s voice in a Radio jingle and wanted to get introduced to the lady with the velvet-like voice.

Love triangles are pretty sticky as we all know and as a Tahidi High girl found out.

Sheila Mulinya who is renowned in the world over for her production skills having produced local shows such as Tahidi High, Maskani and Ndoa on NTV has been taken to court for allegedly sending 500 abusive texts to her love rival.

The reason for all the drama is one A.P Brenda Mukolwe who claims that her spouse had been having an affair with the media girl and when Sheila got ditched ,she chose to insult Brenda via text.

Sheila on the other hand says that she has know the guy since high school and have dated close to an year claiming that the man in question James Makomere, had told her that the only relationship he had with Brenda was as her baby’s father.

She went on to paint Brenda as the ‘home wrecker ‘in this situation alleging that “She has been buying expensive gifts for my man to lure him. Later she started throwing insults and made a big scandal out of the matter. I feel offended and demeaned, that is why my lawyer advised we seek legal action.” she says.

The matter is now in a Kakamega court where Sheila is expected to respond to accusations of sending abusive texts among other charges.

The biggest award show in Tanzania Kilimanjaro Awards went down over the weekend.

The man of the night was Ali Kiba thanks to his freshest hit ‘Mwana’ who led with 4 awards and Diamond followed with 3 awards.

Sauti Sol and Jaguar had been pitted against each other in the category of Best East African Song for “Sura Yako” and “Kioo” respectively.

Others in the category included Jose Chameleone for “Wale Wale” and Victoria Kimani for two songs “Show” and her collaboration with Diamond and Ommmy Dimpoz “Prokoto”.

But Sauti Sol beat them all to emerge the big winners; they were however not present to accept the awards and Mzazi Tuva picked it up on their behalf.

Former Citizen TV revered anchor, Johnson Mwakazi, has made a thunderous comeback on the screens with his show that is now the talk of town.

His decision to leave Citizen T.V for Wholesome TV (WTV) was questioned by many but for him it was a done deal.

It’s now a year since he left the leading media house in the country and he appears to have no regrets. Johnson Mwakazi’s new show dubbed a ‘Wholesome News Review’ focuses on the stories making headlines in Kenya and beyond.

Contrary to popular media philosophy; ‘what bleeds leads, Mwakazi’s show gives emphasis on answering needs, he looks at news from a whole new different perspective.

The show airs in three different TV stations namely; Zuku Channel 34, Go TV 818 and Startimes 37.

Mwakazi co-hosts the show with Elijah Mwangi (one of the news anchors at WTV) who seems to understand news items far too well. Surprisingly, this is not the first time we are seeing Elijah and Mwakazi together.

Many will remember Elijah as a reporter at Citizen TV but very few people knew that he was actually an intern regardless of his on air presence during Power Breakfast and lunch time news as a reporter.

Apart from the Wholesome News Review, Mwakazi is also known for inspirational moments. ‘2 Minutes Sense’ that airs on WTV is Mwakazi’s brainchild. Coincidentally, Elijah also does the 2 minutes sense!

Arguably one of the most composed faces on TV, Ben Kitili has graced our screens for years. Since his days at NTV where he formed a formidable relationship with anchoring partner Liz Ntonjira, Ben Kitili has been a force to reckon with and his presence at KTN is not regrettable either.

Away from the cameras and the screens, this man is a proud father to a young cute and adorable daughter.

The daughter, who Ben calls Ruby, was born a few months ago with the anchor’s wife, Amina, but she would confuse you for how she has grown.

Most people thought the revelation by the Seeker of Truth would dent Huddah’s already rotting reputation but it somehow built her CV.

In an Instagram post, Huddah hinted she takes part in the oldest profession. Although it can’t be immediately established when she said so, the picture and the caption were hers.

It was on the eve of the marking of one year since Al Shabaab militants killed hundreds of Kenyans in Lamu County when the terrorist group once again descended on the county, this time round aiming a military base.

However, as it turned out, their attack was very botched as military officers sprayed them with bullets, killing 11 of the militants. Two officers who were caught in the exchange also lost their lives.

13 AK 47 rivals were also recovered from the militants.

The attacks come after Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett warned of a possible al shabaab attack as muslims in Kenya prepare for the Ramadhan.

Al Shabaab has been carrying out attacks on Kenyan soil, the most recent being the killing of 147 people in Garissa University in April, majority of them being students.

Well this is an unlikely trio.

From a distance they are so different, 2 actresses and a socialite and it’s unlikely that you would catch them hanging out. But on a night in town Catherine Kamau (Celina) and Ida Wanyoike (Olive) bumped into none other than the gorgeous Huddah Monroe.

Weekend activities were interrupted on Saturday as part of Nakumatt Lifestyle, one of Nairobi’s first malls went up in flames.

The fire was said to have started at a food court after two explosions rang the air on the first floor of Hazina Trade Centre at roughly 10pm.

It is not the first time a war of words and verbal diarrhea has erupted between the two esteemed men in the republic. In fact if there a cliché one would use to describe the relationship between Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and lawyer Ahamednasir Abdullahi is it is paraffin and water.

Twitter enthusiasts were treated to a bitter exchange of accusations and allegations between the two individuals, with Dr. Boni Khalwale making one of the most controversial allegations of 2015.

In his tweet, Boni said that he has sufficient evidence to show that Abdullahi is not a Kenyan, but a Somali from Somalia plying his trade in the country.

The allegations sparked mixed reactions from Kenyans who had a lengthy and entertaining discussion over the same.

Lawyer Abdullahi responded by telling Khalwale he just pities the people who accidentally elected him to the Senate.

Walk through a street in Westlands and you won’t fail to see a drunk man launching a horrendously pompous, snobbish and offensive verbal assault on a cab guy. Walk further down the street and you’ll see an overly drunk weave-donning bish being aided in movement by her caring BFFs.

Campuses

Campus students and beer are like Romeo and Juliet. The romance is so strong that even books can’t break it. In fact books are a campus student’s ‘mpango wa kando’. Alcohol is the first love.

Trust campo guys to find joints with the cheapest liquor all the time. Kegs and ‘makali’ are their proffered drinks.

Slums

Guys in slums are slaves to the almighty chang’aa, also known as Ng’ang’o. Mama pimas are the highest earning businesswomen. They are the entrepreneurial queens. Low income and stressful life conditions means that the local peeps have no choice but to rely on cheap illegal brew. The direct effect of the cheap brews is domestic violence.

The only similarity between the two will be that prime time news will be the same and KTN will remain as it has been.

The move to come up with the new TV station is believed to be among others, to exploit the space created by digital broadcasting, to cater for the needs of the ever expanding audience among many others.

Sharon Mundia was every man’s dream until the day a less known man hit headlines when Sharon revealed his identity as the man who has completely swept her away with love. I personally was disappointed and envied this man big time (hope my future best half is not reading this).

Lonina Leteipan is the man who flew Sharon to the slopes of Mount Kenya where he assured her his love and showed her what is in place if she marries him. But did you what Lonina does for a living? Well, just like Eddie Ndichu, he is a banker.

Just last week we heard of a story of a young girl who jumped into a septic tank to her death after her teacher resorted to humiliating her publicly after finding love messages on her phone.

This week we were appalled to learn that two teachers from Nairobi Primary school named Jane Otieno and Anastasia Nyamai allegedly summoning a fourteen year girl then forcing her to masturbate in their presence.

Her ‘crime’ was allegedly having ‘too many boyfriends’ a claim which the young girl denied.

The teachers who were clearly hell-bent on embarrassing her for this supposed crime forced her to take her clothes off and commanded her to arouse herself sexually.

Pleas of being on her period fell to deaf years and the teachers insisted that she masturbates snf later on chose to humiliate her further by making snide remarks about her bloody hands.

This appalling incident took place this was on February 18 this year.

The event clearly upset the little girl who went and reported the shocking incident to the parents who say that their daughter is now traumatized, missing classes and is being victimized for this incidence.

The parents now want the TSC to revoke their licenses.

To avoid getting victimized a judge issued restraining order against the teachers to prevent them from harassing the minor
