Manono Proved Kenyans Can Ressurect From the Dead, Kemboi Constantly Proves We Can Run. Can YOU Prove This? #AirtelMusicStar

And it’s been quite a crazy week here in the capital. The pandemonium that we experienced on Monday with the highlight of it all being one man by the name of Manono who resurrected from the dead.

As you are all aware, a video has been circulating online of the chap being brutally thrashed by an anti-riot police to the point of unconsciousness. Later, the chap is alleged to have died and that’s when social media again exploded with majority of Kenyans condemning the act.

Before it all could settle down, Manono resurfaced yet again and he was seen doing rounds across the various media houses narrating his ordeal word by word. It was truly unbelievable!

Now not only are we known as a country of long distance runners, party goers but also a place where people come back from the dead. I’m telling you even Game of Thrones has nothing on us.

And guess what; Airtel wants to add us yet another title, it wants to crown us as a nation of singers. This they are doing through the second season of Airtel Music Star which is currently underway. It happened for the first time last year and the winner, one mayunga from Tanzania walked away with a whooping 1.5 million shillings alongside a recording deal and song with the multi award and multi talented Akon.

This year the stakes are no different as the 1.5 million is still in the offing, so is the recording deal but with yet another superstar, the luscious equally talented Keri Hilson.

All you have to do is load up some airtime on your airtel line, call 0900733733, sing your song and wait to become the next big thing; The superstar which will put Kenya on the map and give competition to the likes of Diamond and Davido.

Finally Uhuru Remembers The Family Of Muslim Teacher’s Who Died Protecting Christian Passengers And This Is What He Does(Photos)

Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are on a tour in the much maligned NEP region.

The first stop was in Mandera and here the president had a special mission among the plethora of usual presidential tours activities. Mandera county is the home of the Salah Sabdow Farah, the 34 year old Muslim teacher who in selfless act of courage shielded his fellow Christian passengers people he did know from fierce terrorist bullets.

He literally took a bullet for strangers he knew nothing of. While he has been forgotten after a week of praises following the incident, the President’s action yesterday ensured his action will not be futile as far as his family is concerned. Not only did he posthumously award the teacher with a presidential award, he also gave the family 4 million shillings for their upkeep.

It may not be worth a man’s life but it is a gesture that is a long way from the usual neglect such heroic acts undergo. Here is the photo of the widow and the late teacher’s young child at the awarding ceremony.

After The William Ruto Debacle, Will Robert Alai’s Word Alone Be Enough? Ever Again?

Robert Alai is like the one-man TMZ version of Kenya. He can be credited, and rightly so,with breaking many of the news that we end up digesting, consuming and regurgitating weeks later. That’s one thing we’ve come to accept… But not with a full heart. Or a desire to credit him as the source.

Sometimes last year,on a boring Sunday morning (like all Sunday mornings) Robert Alai dropped a video of Hon. Alfred Keter, the Rift Valley prickler, causing havoc at a weighbride. He was accompanied by some Indian lady whose name I can barely remember.

Hon. Keter was a total mess. He appeared very drunk, sounded arrogant and entitled, name dropped a lot and even frequently used unprintable American swear words (but getting the pronunciations very wrong).

Video had gone viral by Sunday afternoon. All media had picked it up. But none of the media editors or reporters expressly credited the video to Robert Alai.

That same evening,Larry Madowo would host the cantankerous Member of Parliament, along with his female irritant, and they’d processed to butcher LIVE Television interview as we know it. All this time,Alai’s name didn’t – wouldn’t – feature anywhere.

And there’s a reason.

Alai is also responsible for the exclusive video showing a local televangelist,a pea-brained businessman,a local singer, some popular Senator and other fellows smoking cigarettes, drinking and also making wild threats to Raila Odinga – straight to the camera.

Today, little of heard of almost all of the protagonists in that dinghy room. But Raila Odinga still holds sway.

Alai, even when he’s the sole purveyor of some piece of breaking news, seems reluctant to OWN the news and to demand credit.

He appears like a slack protector of his own property – and rarely does he splash his own name – in the form of a watermark – across all of the material he exclusively publishes online.

Unlike Mohammed Ali or say,the less manicured,Cyprian Nyakundi,Alai does not boast his conquests around. He rarely owns stuff he’s exclusively broken to the masses and rarely takes issue with people who peddle his exclusive news around as if it were their own.

Even with an arrogance that can be simply unmatched,Alai never seems to want to beat his chest over something he exclusively reported. Why? You may ask.

Well,Alai, unlike TMZ,does not pursue stories – much less pay for them. All Alai did was carve out a ‘People’s Champion’ persona and therefore, earned the trust of the people who now, trust him with their news and their videos and their exclusives.

Therefore,Alai is rarely at the scene of the action. Neither does he,despite what he says, personally investigate stories before publishing them.

He has provided his personal phone number across his social media accounts – Facebook, Twitter- and so,anyone who follows Robert Alai, and he has hundreds of thousands of followers, can quickly text Alai anything they wish, anytime they wish.

Eventually,Alai ends up with a network of informers from allover the Country – both lowly and powerful people – who can call or text or WhatsApp him anytime soon as a story breaks.

But Alai is NOT a media company. He’s a one-man news machine. He therefore cannot be everywhere, every time. Neither does he have reporters on the ground – or office – to follow up news for him and to ascertain a story’s truthability.

Therefore,it’s easy to dupe Alai. It’s easy, also,to machinate a story and send it to Alai. He doesn’t solicit the news. It’s sent to him by anonymous people, most of whom could be driven by malice and mischief. And still,he might publish it.

Enter Twitter. Another one of Alai’s main sources of news – and also medium of conveyance.

Unlike traditional media,Alai does not receive press alerts. And in a rush to beat traditional media,he might end up in a shit hole many times over.

When he ” broke ” the news of William Ruto’s sudden collapse and subsequent hospitalization,Alai didn’t even have the exclusive news in his hands. He simply scanned through a couple tweets and several anonymous texts and BAM! It became exclusive news… Only known to him.

It would later turn out,The Deputy President was not actually admitted. He didn’t even collapse and didn’t end up rushed to hospital at all. It was all a malicious report, the DP was for as a fiddle and doing just fine far in the North Eastern Province.

Alai would later eat humble pia and attach his update with some several screenshots of tweets he must relied upon in coming up with his ‘Breaking News’.

Interestingly, some of the tweets were made using FAKE accounts of public figures – and yet Alai believed them too, just like anyone else.

Well, while Alai has been reliable before,in breaking scandals mostly,he may never reach the stage where his word alone will be enough and final.

Also, most of what Alai considers news is really just sleaze and gossip and basic propaganda, stuff that is generally deemed gutter press and stuff that may always be taken with a pinch of salt.

Yesterday, Robert Alai’s reputation was badly damaged. And that incident makes you wonder how many other things has Alai claimed in the past that were actually false and mere propaganda.

In this age, social media and traditional media must move in sync – social media for the hard truths and traditional media for the final word.

Kenya Knocks Nigeria And South Africa Off Their Feet With Africa’s FIRST 360 Degree Video. This Will Blow Your Mind Away #BlazeKe

Continental powerhouses Nigeria and South Africa may have the oil, the power, the influence but they are definitely lagging behind in the technological department, especially 360 degree videos.

In this new world, virtual reality and video technology take centre stage. The 360 degree video shot in Kenya, is about Robert, the Muay Thai trainer.

It was all courtesy of Blaze Kenya which celebrates young people who have excelled in whatever they are doing, big or small, and anything that has a positive impact to the world.

Blaze celebrates young people who are doing the unthinkable, and the unconventional things.

For starters, Muay Thai which Robert has specialized in, is a combat sport originally from Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques.

Blaze movement filmed Robert doing his stunts in a 360-degree video. The 360-degree video looks superb, it will definitely blow your mind away. Watch the video below:

Of William Ruto’s Sudden Hospital Admission,Boniface Manono And The Never-ending Circus Of Speculation In Kenya’s Social Media Games

The week is not over yet and we are yet to authoritatively decide what to believe from what a section of our politicians are telling us, what the mainstream media is telling us,what the bloggers are propagating, what social media is yapping about and what tech savvy Government busybodies are tweeting.

It’s been an interesting week, for sure.

It started off with the chaotic CORD protests that are now turning into something of a circus of the absurd, creatively dubbed ” Sheesha Mondays ” by Kenya’s hilarious online community, the CORD protests have not been short of everlasting punch lines and dramatic – sometimes brutal – takeaways to last us for a week or two, in the process, reducing the CORD principals, tear-gassed and teary, into weekly laughing stocks.

But one thing elevated this week’s edition of ‘Sheesha Mondays’ to something of a urban legend – the brutal beating on a protester-cum-job seeker who would be so caught up in the melee, images of him receiving a dog’s beating trended worldwide.

Following morning, some creative fellows decided to throw and spanner in the works and make some haste declaration – the guy with a green hoodie and blue jeans had died.

The guy that was captured on camera getting mercilessly brutalized by a brutish GSU guy had succumbed to the injuries.

All media picked up the ‘story’. Including yours truly.

Facebook groups even rolled out his funeral program. And we were all roped in.

Couple hours later, another story emerged – Wait… the dude is alive, he’s sitting up in his shack in the slums, waiting for treatment.

zacab88.jpg

More confusion.

The story got even deeper. And messier and definitely juicer. The protester was now oscillating between names – He was Ben Ngatia in the morning. And Boniface Manono in the evening.

He was a Ndumberi dweller in the morning. And by evening, the dude was a Kibera constituent.

I’ve never seen a more confusing day in the news.

Raila Odinga, his submissive gang in tow, even observed a moment of silence for him. Turns out the dude was alive after all.

Now we had to update our articles for the umpteenth time.

As if the blogs and the radios and the Politicians and the busybodies weren’t confusing enough, the dude comes with his own version of the story. Entirely different from what anyone else had concocted.

Oh, come on!

Now, he was not even  a CORD protester. Ouch. He was now a job seeker, who was busy minding his business, with a rock in his pocket. What a way to mind your business.

Don’t even get me started on how he ended up changing shoes in one beating episode. Jehovah God. Whatever happened to continuity.

Enter the VVVIP who had suddenly collapsed at his Karen home being rushed to Karen Hospital.

The rumor mills went on overdrive. Who could that be? Who? Is he the guy we think he is? Dammit! He is! We soon discover.

The Internet almost breaks with the news of Deputy President Ruto being rushed to Nairobi Hospital.

One powerful blogger is behind it all. And we tend to always believe him. Why not today?

He insists his version of the story is true. Government mandarins state otherwise. We sit back and watch the episode unfold, gleefully, ready to drop the usual nonsense comments we are so adept at.

Silly theories revolving around dark powers and torches are bandied around. We laugh and laugh and laugh.

No, he isn’t admitted. He is in Mandera. Yes, He is admitted. He is NOT in Mandera. You know what, fine, Here are the pictures. See? He is in Mandera.

Psssh. Old pics. In fact, wait a minute, this was last year. Last freaking year. Dude is admitted.

The back and forth goes on. And on. We grab virtual popcorn. And wait. It later turns out, Dude is in Mandera after all. And we have more than enough pics to go around.

zacab775t.jpg

There he is,allover the place, looking healthier than the guy serving you tomato soup at the cafeteria. Laughing and shaking hands and definitely not looking like a guy who’s just survived a health scare.
How now!?? We wonder.

Our blogger insists his story is true. He isn’t the type that eats humble pie.

Shucks.

Boniface Manono’s telemundo is now starting to look like child’s play compared to the Ruto versus Alai babel.

All in one week.

Come on now! Can everyone stop being a source of news in this Country? Please?

Phew! And it’s only Friday!

Dr. Bonny Khalwale Talks About Jacob Juma Haunting And Here is What He Wants The DP To Do To Avoid Misfortune (Video)

Jacob Juma’s death deservedly hogged all the media attention but just in the same vein his burial and the rituals said to have accompanied it have filled public discussion since his body was buried.

Early today #TorchWentOff was the trending subject a reference to the torch the businessman was buried with to look for his killers and according to popular belief, should it go off, the killers would meet dire consequences.

Coming from the highly superstitious community of the Luhya, especially on matters death, Juma’s murder has had many of the region’s elders calling for investigations and now Kakamega Senator Bony Khalwale is calling for the DP to speak on the matter given the several times the late businessman tweeted saying the DP posed threats.

The Senator wants DP Ruto to give clarity on the matter saying Jacob Juma’s soul will haunt them should the Luhya leaders fail to follow up to the conclusive investigation of his murder. Here is that video courtesy of KTN

They Are Now Calling Him The KING Of Kenyan Women….Find Out Why This Business Magnate Is Wearing That Crown (Photos)

Legendary entrepreneur Joe Kariuki doesn’t seem to stop. Neither does his money. His ventures don’t stop, his outreach doesn’t stop and clearly,we are getting to understand why this man with the heart of gold is quickly becoming the single-most powerful social force in this Country.

I mean,he was recently named as one of the Top 40 African innovators by a leading Rwandese Think-tank,sitting pretty amongst African barons and moguls including the fabled Aliko Dangote.

That seems to be the impetus that spurred the innovative music impresario to venture deeper into entrepreneurship, philanthropy and mentorship.

And now,it’s Kisumu’s turn to strike it big…With his flagship Amsha Mama project that has taken off like an Airbus across the Country, touching women in ways that not politics nor petty saccos ever could.

Joe Kariuki,a non Kisumu local himself is endeavoring to empower over 5000 women all over Nyanza through the Amsha Mama initiative which will hold a massive festival to help empower women in small scale businesses on the 4th of June 2016.

“I am a big fan of small scale businesses. I do believe they are the backbone of Kenyans economy,” Joe says. “Supporting them and uplifting what they have build up,we also raise up our nation bit by bit to bigger economical heights step by step.”

As ponited otu by Joe and his team, many people think that the upscale business just begun big but it all starts with an idea and then do what is necessary to doing what is possible to suddenly dong what is impossible.

Quite a gem of a thought there,eh?

Mr. Kariuki’s philanthropic venture has helped empower women all over the country and East Africa as  Amsha Mama aims to uplift women in small scale business, and also create business opportunities to women while also giving them a platform to empower each other.

Amsha Mama goes beyond just helping with ideas, capital and platforms, we go through the journey with our women, as they grow and change into entrepreneurs and be the best they can.

“It is wish that more women become business oriented and big tycoons to the nation’s economy…Women are the new game changers, let’s give them the chance,” Joe concludes.

And sure,we cannot argue with such brilliant thinking.

“I Was Fooled” Robert Alai Admits Mistake Following Alarming Post Of Ruto being Hospitalized

Robert Alai has his fair share of admirers as well as detractors and the neutrals take either side depending on his actions. His recent social media post regarding the health of the current DP has ensured he has many people either baying for his blood or taking shots at his perceived eagerness to see ill befall the DP. He stuck to his guns however, saying that the fact that the DP is elsewhere, does not necessarily mean he was not at the hospital last night. Finally he accepted that he had been misinformed and fooled saying, ‘

Many however, will not hear any of it, and have given a taste of his vitriol criticism tearing into his tweets. Here are some of the trolling and criticisms he has received online.

“I Was Sick Now I Am Healed” See The Transformation Of The Chief Who Hecckled In Uhuru In A Rally (Photo)

The effects of alcohol are well documented and can have lasting and deplorable effects.

In some cases they take on a dramatic turn ending up shaming the individual and those close to him. This was the case of one Joseph Wycliffe Rotich who at the time of his moment of infamy was a chief of Mawingu in Nakuru County. He was drunk yet still attended a rally shouting as he was drunk before going ahead to declare himself the most drunken chief in the region regardless of the President led fight against illicit brew.

A sack swiftly followed but luckily for him, NACADA empathized with his condition. He was taken in for rehabilitation and now 53 days he says he has healed and is sorry for his actions and now wants back his job.

“I would like to ask for forgiveness because I was seen misbehaving in that video. I was addicted and I believe addiction is a sickness of which I am healed today,” he said

He has truly changed spotting a nice neat suit and drinking only water and very much sober. Here is his new look.

Forget Tinder, Tagged or Even WeChat, This Is the World’s Most Exclusive Dating App. Only the Likes of Larry Madowo, Caroline Mutoko and Maureen Kunga Can Get In

In a world where things like shopping, paying taxes and sending mail have all gone online, its not surprising that something basic like dating has gone online too.

Nowadays, you can get to meet a potential spouse or a hook-up with the click of a button, so prowling is now easier for members of Team Mafisi.

It’s often easy to find your soul mate or FWB simply by joining dating apps like Tinder or WeChat but there is a new dating app called ‘The League’ which is making internet dating a bit harder or easier depending who is looking at it.

‘The League’ is a dating app that aims at hooking up professionals to other professionals in order to create power couples as the founder revealed in an interview on Buzzfeed.

{youtube}eS_P2KTPrRg{/youtube}

Attaining membership is not easy as it allows only a small, select group of people, kind of like the Capital Club (Dubai) of dating apps, and there is a waiting list.Imagine that? A waiting list to join an app! Crazy Huh?

Aside from the unbelievable waiting list, the app has been deemed ‘elitist’ as it’s only the crème de la crème in society who can make their way in, so guys with impressive profiles like Larry and Caroline Mutoko are more likely to get in than the common mwanachi.

According to the founder, this is what sets the app apart from other dating apps:

The app is only available at Apple’s app store but they intend on launching it on Android.

What do you guys think? Is this your kind of dating app or nah?

Ruto Resurfaces in Mandera amid Rumours That He Had Been Hospitalised after Jacob Juma’s Spirit ‘Started Working’ (Photos)

Before he was buried, some traditional rituals were performed on Jacob Juma’s family  and during his burial ceremony, to ensure that the killers did not go scot free after finishing him.

Among the rituals was the placing of a torch and a knife in his coffin which would give his ghost the ability to haunt his killers from the after-life.

Before he passed away, Juma had tweeted that Ruto wanted to finish him and some politicians even called for William Ruto to be investigated.

The rapper has now done that for a record three times. He proposed to his baby mama Daisy Kiplagat and the late Nigerian singer Goldie who he started an affair with at BBA.

Going back to Michelle Oyola, Prezzo and his fiancé spent a great deal of time showing off the engagement ring after Michelle said “YES” to his proposal.

He will appear in court again of Friday for bond hearing. That aside, below are the trendy stories:

Stinking Rich Nairobi Tycoon Michael Njeru To Be Arrested Upon Returning Home From Mozambique

Nairobi Principal Magistrate Daniel Ole Keiwa has ordered that Transcend Media Group owner Michael Njeru be arrested once he returns home from his trip in Maputo, Mozambique.

Mr. Njeru defied court orders barring him from travelling outside the country. The Nairobi tycoon has been locked in a divorce battle with his wife Anne Evelyn Wambui.

Wambui accuses him of battering her and locking her out of their matrimonial home in Lavington . The two had been married for 21 years before they separated.

Wambui cited assault and infidelity as some of the reasons why she wanted her marriage to the businessman to be annulled.

What made this case attract the attention of Kenyans are the demands by Wambui. She wants her embattled ex husband to pay her Kes 1.3 million as upkeep every month and a further Kes 3.3 million as school fee for their children.

As if that’s not enough, Wambui wants Kes 10 million as insurance cover plus a court order restricting Michael Njeru from accessing their home.

To make sure her husband doesn’t do anything ‘nasty’, Wambu asked the court to freeze Mr. Njeru’s firearm license saying she feared her ex hubby could cause harm to her and her children. And the court ruled in her favor on his request.

Matiangi Bans Prayer Days In Schools To Curb Exam Cheating In Shocking Rules That Have Shocked The Nation

The Cabinet Secretary for education Fred Mataing’I has deservedly earned his reputation as one of the hardest working members of the Jubilee cabinet.

However, his latest move, radical as many of his moves has just redefined the craziness that most of the time guides government policy formulation. In a bid to curb examination cheating in the final year exams at the Primary and Secondary School the CS announced a raft of changes that are hilarious at best and likely to be ineffective at worst.

Among them is the banning of visiting days, Candidates prayer sessions popularly known as Prayer Days along with any other third term social activities. Visiting days and Mid-Terms have also been banned, while term two has been extended to 17 weeks instead of the usual 14 weeks with the schools closing on 29th August and not the earlier set date of 5th August.

The KCSE’s will be done in September while KCPE in October. The exams will be supervised by the Heads of Institutions, KNEC officials and contacted invigilators. These changes will affect all public schools.

Amid All the Stone Throwing, Tear Gas Canisters,Boot Crushing and Tribal Bigotry, Just Remember We’re All Kenyans and We’re Poor. Instead of Killing Yourself, Do This Instead! #TasteaFeeling

For the last couple of days, there has been a photo doing rounds on social media of a cop brutally beating a protestor in the recently held CORD demonstrations. The highlight of it all was is when the officers’ boot was up above the protestors’ face, a protestor who seemed to have zoned out and the officer looked as if he was just about to crush his skull, taking away his life.

It’s one of the most grotesque scenes you could ever experience and it bubbles all manner of feelings within you. Surely, was it really worth it to shed all that blood, experience all that pain in misery just for a few individuals who only have vested interests in the whole thing?

Founder of Nailab and entrepreneur raised a very interesting hypothesis that no matter what, the victim and the person carrying out the atrocities were all in the same spot. They were probably all earning below 40 K a month and were really struggling to make ends meet.

However this is not the first time this is happening and we hit our social media pages up in arms asking for mass action, rebuking, accusing, condescending, warning and doing all manner of things. But as soon as the fire dies down, then its business as usual until another “Wanjiku” is crushed on a pavement.

And the sad part is that this kind of primitiveness and tribal bigotry is sometimes advanced by Kenya’s middle class who definitely should do be more civil. People like me and you who have gone to school, are probably professionals somewhere and appear to live sober lives.

People, who go to caramel for dinner, have drinks at mercury while pretending to be all bourgeoisie and sophisticated. In the confines of our toilets however, we chuck out our phones and post all manner of verbal diarrhea on our twitter handles.  It’s totally pathetic if you ask me!

I would rather you just catch up on the latest movies on Netflix, update your IG on your latest shisha escapades while pretending nothing is in the offing. Better still, you can attempt to make a change and do better.

Like have you heard about Coca Cola’s Taste The Feeling? It’s a campaign that advocates togetherness, sharing and generally appreciating one another. That is definitely what we need in Kenya. We need to understand that everyone is important, that they bring something to the table!

Where is theexultation of bringing our country to its knees and losing everything we have taken so long to build? Where is the joy in seeing your brother who probably gives you an advance now and then when you are broke lying there in a pool of blood writhing in pain courtesy of your “people?”

Your guess is as good as mine on this one.

8 Hilarious Memes from Boniface Manono’s ‘Resurrection’ That Prove Kenyans Are the Funniest Comedians Around

5 Rich Foreign Celebs Who Came To Kenya As Refugees And Have Since Made More Money Than Our Struggling Artists (Photos)

Making it big in a strange land far away from home is a dream, so long a shot, which sounds almost impossible. Many ‘prodigal sons’ try and go back devastated to their fathers’ lands with nothing but shattered dreams to offer.

So what makes these Burundians and Congolese thrive in Kenya? What was it that the Kenyan soil offered them to even beat some of our own best? Was it a ready market, audience or an opportunity?

So who are these Kenyan wannabes that have made Kenya their second homes?

Kidum-in-African-outfit.jpg

His name is such a household everyone identifies with. Even the self-proclaimed atheists know some of his gospel tunes like ‘Mungu Anaweza’

He found himself in a band, without a manager and struggling with an already crowded industry but still tried to break barriers to become one of the most celebrated artistes.

Kidum flies business class to perform internationally and still remains amongst the most sought after musician in functions.

He fled his native Burundi at the height of civil war that pitted his countrymen and women against each other.

Robert ‘R KAY’ Kamanzi

rkayeiu7bue.jpg

R-Kay might not be a show stopper when it comes to performances, but wait until it comes to music productions. He is famous not only in Kenya but in East Africa as a whole and is the most decorated music producer.

His recording label has seen many artistes, both veterans and mushrooming, rushing to his studios for a chance to record their hits.

R-Kay also allows new artistes who are still struggling with finances a chance to record for half the fee…a night and armor, huh!

Not only does he produce music, he is also a singer, a song writer and an actor. He also fled Burundi due to unending conflicts.

Solomon Mkubwa

solomak88k77.jpg

This is one Burundian everyone thinks is Tanzanian. He spent so many years in Magufuli’s land but fate didn’t want him there and so he came to try the Kenyan industry.

All his songs have made it so big in the gospel industry and have gotten him awards. The songs are sung everywhere, from clubs to churches, in concerts, in rallies and public functions.

Nazizi Flashes Her Sweat-soaked Bulging Groin In Viral Photos

The things she can do are extremely startling!

Nazizi is taking fitness too serious. She’s pushing herself to the limit doing stunts that were otherwise a preserve of folks with ambitions to be ninjas.

From Losing Virginity At 12 in the School Toilet, Struggling With Weed, Having an Alcoholic Dad, A Weed Peddling Mum And Starting Out In Music, Here Is The Dark Side Of Juliani You Did Not Know

Juliani’s rise from the Dandora backwaters to the pinnacle of Hip Hop scene in Kenya is well documented but usually with little in depth details.

He has previously been reluctant to be open but now ahead of his concert celebrating his first album, he has been divulging details bit by bit. Now he has gotten a bit more personal. In his latest three articles on the Medium platform, Juliani has revealed what his child hood was like, his relationship with the parents and the personal challenges he had to go through.

He reveals he smoked weed mostly when writing music taking it more as a spiritual exercise and how it mostly came due to the fact of growing up next to Kitu Sewer and the Mau Mau pioneering legends like K-Shaka. He was close to his mum helping her run the chapatti and beans restaurant.

His father he says “Dad never gets home early. He always shows up late, drunk. Shouting to let the whole neighborhood know he is back. Even the dogs stop barking. Or maybe his singing drowns the barking.”

While his father and himself were consumers of the weed, his mother was more of a peddler, supplementing her income from selling mboga with the high earning green of the weed. As Juliani himself puts it “Back in Mathare, before we moved to Dandora, my mum sold weed to survive. She was known as Mama Mboga. She had the sukuma wiki and nyanya on display, yeah, but the real mboga wasn’t. And it earned her more money.”

His father would later be saved making a sudden decision and burning the entire weed and cigarettes in the house in front of the kids. On his sexual life, his experiences mirror those of many kids in a place where sexual education is scanty and adult supervision and guidance hardly present. As he writes

“My experience happened in the school toilet. Every Friday in our school was overall cleaning day. Whereby classes took turns in washing the entire school. This particular Friday was our turn. The teacher were always not around, the activities were supervised by headboys and school prefects.

I was tense but I had to do what I had to do after all few of my friend knew what I was up to. The girl of my choice was tall, light skinned and we always make eye contact in class. I occasionally threw chewed paper at her; This wasn’t paper mache, we called it paper mate! Strange childish way of declaring love!

The date was set. The girls washroom of course were separate from the boys but after a certain hour of time the rules don’t apply.

I didn’t know what it means, how to do it. I just had to. My “partner in crime” was aware and we made a decision; how and when it’s gonna go down.

And it went down! the clothes and indeed the deed.”

All these was part of his growing up and he says it shaped him, his music career was equally dramatic, from hustling for fare to get to competitions from the likes hosted by Budha Blaze, his experience in being part of Kilio Cha Haki album and so much more.

Noti Flow’s Strange Looking Feet Ignite Bleaching Rumors (Photos)

Noti-Flow’s patchy feet have had fans questioning whether the controversial rapper has paid a visit to River-road and joined the bleaching battalion.

The rapper who is known more for her controversies rather than songs was once a coffee-colored beauty but her looks nowadays are gravitating towards Brenda Wairimu’s yellow-bone color.

This Is Kenya’s Most Successful DJ And The Number Of Shows From Malawi To Dubai Is More Than Enough Proof (Photos)

To rank deejays in terms of skill alone is to be quite narrow-minded. Like any other career, the whole act and not talent alone is required to succeed and dominate the industry.

It is hard to argue that DJ Joe Mfalme is not the most dominant Deejaying act in Kenya right now. He is in basically all platforms you would expect to find a DJ of repute in. From a Radio show, TV show, online platforms, Mixes, and live shows; he’s surely got it all.

It is in the latter that he really thrives and basically blows the competition out of the water which says more about his overall act considering he is a one man show not a group of deejays like the rest of the leading acts in the country.

As others hassle for gigs on a week to week basis to supplement their hustle, he is fully booked from month to month all weeks with gigs around the Nation, Continent and internationally.

Check out these pictures and from shows across town and nations and his schedule running to June to appreciate that when it comes to grinding it out, his game is on another level.

Shock To Passengers As Vera Sidika’s Fake Breasts Fall Off Inside A Plane

It was all horror and panic as Vera Sidika’s heaving pair of massive, gravity-defying, torpedo-shaped breasts fell off her chest inside a Boeing plane just as it was about to take-off at an airport in Guangzhou, China . The socialite who has been hopping around the Asian nation over the past few days was about to fly back to Nairobi when her boobies decided to pull a Raila-esque demonstration

Chaos erupted inside the Business class cabin when other passengers suddenly got treated to the near unbelievable level of mammarian visibility. I’m talking kids jumping to their arms of their mamas, grandmothers screaming with screeching soprano voices and hostesses making frantic calls in an effort to try and contain the situation.

Eye witness reports state that the undulating globes, fell to the floor, then leaped skywards before going back down again with a resounding bounce, The breasts which had existed only in the imaginations of common men and the memories of sponsors were now lying on the floor in full exposure and display. For once, they were no longer obscured by an expensive Louis Vuitton top.

As a result of the incident, Vera was evacuated from the plane and rushed to a nearby hospital.

Speaking to Ghafla exclusively, she said she believed it was the screws attaching her breasts to her chest that had become loose as a result of excessive fondling by her sponsors.

“Kwanza ule sonko wangu wa Dubai alikua anazishika ni ka anakamua ng’ombe. Alafu ule mwingine wa Nigeria alikua anazivuta ni kama anachuna maembe.”

But new information reaching us states that doctors in Guangzhou have figured out a whole new and sensible reason for the rare occurrence

According to the medical personnel who attended to Vera, the silicon breasts were way past their expiry date. Dr. Chang, a plastic surgeon, confirmed that a tattoo below the left nipple clearly read ‘Best Before 5/5/2016’. This means that Vera was still donning the pair for close to two weeks after their expiry date, causing them to rot and fall.

It truly is a sad ending to the pair. Wowing audiences with their unique mix of shapeliness and heft, the large curvaceous mammaries had captured the hearts and minds of breast loving Africans for a very long time.

As for now, Vera is considering asking for contributions from Kenyans to enable her buy new breasts. She is already liasing with Bikozulu (Master of Online Harambees) to set up the Saidia Sidika Fund with the hashtag #SaidiaVeeBeby

“Each year, millions of lives are affected by Vera’s breasts”, wrote Bikozulu in a blog post. “With their bouncy, friendly exterior and deeper underlying plasticity, these breasts are of great value to all of us. People of all ages, colors and creeds are susceptible to them. Now it’s just a matter of getting this issue out there for everyone to know and assist in any way they can. It’s time Kenyans truly recognized the full size and scope of this devastating tragedy that has hit one of our national icon.”

But no matter the kind of opinion each one of us concerning the issue, one thing is for certain: We will continue to hold this large pair of breasts close to our hearts. One important lesson to young girls has come up though. Don’t use technology to further your booby goals. No matter how tiny they are, be proud of them.

RIP Vera’s breasts
