Guess which artiste is the most popular trend in Nairobi right now

If you asked me why he’s trending, I’d say it’s his new awesome genre of music and persona. but that’s just my opinion. He dissappeared from the music scene for a while due to some unfortunate controversies but all that is history now.

He is the guy with the new Bachette flow, the electronic beats and creative videos. The bird… no, the plane… actually, it’s the African Superman Bamzigizigi.

Yes, he is now a big deal considering everyone is talking about him or to him, and I say he deserves it. If you have listened to his latest music, you are probably on the same page with the rest of us. This dude is just bachette(for those who don’t understand this word, look it up in the bachette dictionary)!

This is my favourite of his latest songs so far. Join me in singing along to its lyrics at the Ghafla!Lyrics site.

‘Double’ reason why this year’s BBA will be hotter.

The Big Brother has just twisted things up for the better… I think. For the viewers, this will be a joy ride, but for the participants, this might just turn out to be either the best or worst experience of your life, depending on the decision you make on this remix.

This year,

every contestant is required to sign up with… wait for it… a patner. As if it’s not hard enough to live with people you don’t know, they now have to spend all their time with the person they will choose, be it their mother, brother, spouse, maid or even their in-law. On top of that, two more countries have been addded. Sierra Leone and Liberia.

I know the fun (for us viewers) will begin from the second month, after they’ve all grown tired of each other. I for one, am gonna love this. Caos in the making.

So, don’t come one, but come two for the auditions. Entry forms can be collected at the nearest Multichoice office from the 5th of February. You can also sign up online at the BBA website and send it back to their email address:bba@endemol.co.za.

More of East Africa on M-Net

The Nusu-nusu productions has created a new show that will be airing on M-Net. M-Net decided to increase the East African content on their station by the launch of

Mashariki Mix last week.

Mashariki Mix showcases East Africa’s lifestyle, diverse people, parties and its wonderful food with so much more. It airs every week for about thirty minutes, presented by BBA’s Nic Wagondu with Tahidi High’s Sarah Hassan.

This was not the only East African show that was proposed to M-Net, but is the only one that was picked so far. We can only hope that more will follow.

These are the five most liked music videos

Everyone is watching and liking them on Youtube, and some are even sharing them with their pals on facebook and twitter. These are the five most liked Kenyan music videos:

1. 254Low Cypher Vol2. Camp Mulla and their pals are on it as usual. With their second volume of the 254Low Cypher, they are just getting started. Watch this space, if you got swagg enough!

2. Just a Band & Nonini-HAHE remix. The Mgenge felt that he had to jump on the track and he did well too. He has put the hit song back where it belongs.

3. M.O.G feat Mr.Vee-Heartbreaker. This gospel song describing the devil as a heartbreaker, has ironicaly touched the hearts of many. Yes, gospel is here to stay.

4. Mababa squad-Bure kabisa. This Kenyan Kwaito song has had many laughing. All about the ‘uselessness’ of the normal guy.

5. Creme De La Creme and STL Scratch Routine Sounds. Watch the perfection of this Dj combined with the vocals of this angel and you will understand why it’s here.

“It is my time now,” Kimya.

His brother blew up the music scene with mad freestyles and hit songs like ‘compe’ after backsliding from the gospel world. Even though Bamboo was huge,he still did not take the light away from

Kimya.
Kimya first hit the radios with the Ukoo Flani crew together with Richie Rich and later formed Headbangers Entertainment.
It is through Headbangers that Kimya Miyaki has been able to come back to the scene with great tracks. Fully Urban Hiphop influenced, Kimya shares with us his lyrical prowess on each and every song that he has done and the latest of these are no exeption.
Mostly in English, Kimya raps about the street life, love of music and loyalty to all things just.
A revolutionary sound he gives with his crew, Headbangers entertainment.
He has recently done alot of tracks and is busy pushing them through twitter, facebook, reverbnation, just to mention a few of his music sources.
If you love Hiphop, this is the voice for you.
Here is a taste of his latest music.

Anto Neosoul new song ‘Qwerty love’…awesome video

Soft voice Anto Neosoul shot the video of his new song ‘Qwerty Love’ publicly outside the Kenya Archives building. With invited dancers and his band with him,

the public could not resist flocking the scene. The shoot set was something like a party on the streets as everyone is dancing and moving all over, just having a good time.

Inhouse entertainment shot and edited the behind-the-scenes video with an I-Phone 4 yet the quality is still amazing (goes to show the magnifisence of the I-Phone 4). Hardly months after chips funga, Anto comes back with a greater love song. Ladies will kill for this qwerty love song.

Kapella, “I did not diss Collo”

Fast upcoming Hiphop rapper Kapella from the Coolagang has lashed out to allegations about him dissing the self proclaimed ‘King wa Rap’, Collo.

Kapella tweeted,

“I did not diss Collo and I don’t intend to. I respect the dude alot. My bro, Lyon Cash dissed him. I just featured on the track.” It’s good that’s cleared up.

He went further to say that he is off the beef vybe. The young rapper is here for the money, and with this new perspective, money he will make.

I’m still diggin’ his latest track ‘left right’. He realy does belong on the mic. Have a taste of the single below.

Five Things to never tell a DJ in a club

Listen and listen carefully… or in this case, read and read generously.

Due to my nature of hard raeving(as my palz call it), I have come to be an expert on how to please and piss-off Djs, but for my love for these music gurus, I will only give but a few things that you should never tell a DJ. You will figure out the rest on your own.

1. “Punguza sauti!”… as intoxicated as you are, you should try as hard as possible not to say this to the Dj, because you probably not okay. You should have stayed home with your sterio palito.

2. “Play me that song that goes like…” You should realise that Djaying is a professional like any other, and therefore there is something called planning. Most DJs have a playlist that they follow after they practiced, to ensure they hype their fans. Requesting a song, especially one that is on its way really pisses them off. Just go there when it’s request time. You make it worse by saying “I’m the one who told him to blend it with that song!”.

3. “We’re never coming back here if you don’t play our track.”. Honestly, the DJ doesn’t care. wether you come or not, he/she will still get paid.

4. “How much do they pay you for this?”…noboby asked you how much you earn, so please just mind your own business.

5. “You suck!”… If you realy have to say this, watch out for the bouncers. If they are near and you still go ahead and say it… that’s just plain stupid.

I dedicate this Konshens track to our awesome DJs.

The real deal is near

This Saturday, all roads lead to Tamambo Tapas Bar for the much anticipated performance by the band,

The Itch:The real deal featuring David Nilson on Trumpet.

Those who have ever attended a live band show know for sure that there ain’t no better way to listen to good music than from live musical instruments.

The show kicks off at 8:30PM with entrance going for 200/- per head. Don’t miss out.

New track release for next week by the African Superman

The African superman and founder of the Kenyan Bachette music,

Bamzigi zigi has announced the release of his new track due next week.

Sources say that the new 3050 music is titled ‘Murderer’ and will be hot as usual. Bamzigi has recently made a huge comeback to music with his new flow and genre of music that he calls ‘Bachette music’.

According to Bamzigi, bachette is a word that can be used to mean anything and everything. kind of like a universal word. Cool huh?!

The most liked Youtube Kenyan video

Almost a week ago, Citizen TV did an interview with the ‘king of bling’ CMB Prezzo, who’s real name is Jackson Makini. Right now,

the video is trending in the youtube charts, beeing the second most liked Kenyan video after Kibaki’s statement on ICC ruling.

The video features Prezzo’s lifestyle; his house, cars and basic living. He hangs out with rapper Cannibal and another upcoming rapper in his living room while beeing interviewed. He displays his tatooes and explains what they mean to him.

Indeed Prezzo has come a long way from ‘naleta action’ to ‘4sho 4sheezy’. He realy does live his lavish lifestyle after all.

Watch the interview below.

US based Kenyan Reggea singer to begin tour

Some may call his music Afro Urban, like himself, but if you listen to it you can’t help but notice the reggea feeling that overcomes you. His songs are kind of similar to those of Bob Marley and The Mighty Diamonds. Freedom songs I’d call them…

KG Omulo is set to begin his tour around the world, promoting his debut album Ayah Ye! Moving Train which has a political revolution agenda. He has recorded the album in Florida and Penssylvania, USA. Filled with inspirational tracks like ‘No means no’ and ‘moving train’, the ulbum is a ‘uhuru’ special.

He should concider collaborating with the Jamaican roots singers. They would definately produce hits.

Here is a sample of the songs in the album.

And he is back…

We all loved this duo that brought us hits like ‘bado tunapanda’ way back when kapuka was the only vibe.

I still don’t know where XYZee went, but we are glad that atleast one of them is back in the scene.

Lexx Kinyua of XYZee has come back with a bang. Forget alshabab, this is the real deal. His latest single, ‘first love’ is doing well both on radio and TV. Most, if not all of his fans are celebrating his comeback.

‘First love’ is about a guy who had travelled abroad for studies, only to come back and find that the love of his life had already moved on to another guy. Girl couldn’t wait. Sad story really, bad good music. I’m not a professional on music but the vocals on that song are just great.

Good to have you back Lexx. Don’t do your dissapearing act on us again though. We don’t love fake magic these here parts.

Watch the video below.

‘Uhuru Clothing’ will be launched in Nairobi on…

It is about time US based Uhuru clothing should be launched in Kenya considering it represents us and Africa as a whole. Patriot Thomas Mwicigi,

the CEO and founder of the Uhuru Clothing label is planning to come back home around March to launch his much loved designs here in Nairobi.

Invitations will be sent to local and international celebrities to grace the event that is already much anticipated.

Back in the year 2007, in Texas, Uhuru Wear was launched, due to lack of African attire in the State. Here at home Thomas has worked with musicians like Camp Mulla, Prezzo and Mad Traxx on his clothing line. They have done photoshoots and made agreements on wearing the Label on their next video shoots instead of advertising European brands as we always do.

Country music comes to Kenya

It’s about time we had a country music concert in these here parts of Africa. Coincidentaly,

the worlds most famous gospel country group are coming to town. Branded, a group from Texas, USA, will be performing at the Faith Evangelist Ministries(FEM) church in Karen this month.

According to the church director, the award winning crew was invited to Kenya to spread the gospel through their music which is not what the Kenyan citizens are familiar with, live.

You might have heard some of their hit songs like, ‘heroes’, ‘simple life’ and ‘there’s no white christmas in Houston’ just to name a few.

Put your rodeo hats on, and let’s ramble.

I know where Trapee is

Everyone is wondering where this guy went. After dropping a nice track ‘my vidiyo’ which was an immediate hit in all the stations both in TV and radio, he just dissapeared from the radder.

Well,

he has been hiding behind his facebook walls, updating his status every 30 minutes. A really inspiring guy he is, with strong and deep status updates like, “There are 2 ways of making money:,2 do what ur told n follow where the money leads u,or 2 do what u love n let the money follow u..” as his latest.

Come on Trapee, you are a great artiste so be as active on your music as you are on facebook. #realtalk.

Reason why everyone is turning to Gospel

It is a fact that the Gospel music genre has taken over the Kenyan music industry without a doubt. I was in a certain club last weekend and was suprisingly not shocked to hear

Esther Wahome’s ‘kuna dawa’ playing and guys were actualy dancing and jumping to the tune. Let’s just ignore the disrespect of the holy song by the Dj, and accept the dominance of the gospel tunes everywhere.

It is also a fact that most downloaded skiza tunes are from the gospel genre. No wonder more and more people in kenya are getting ‘saved’ by the day and churches are more attended especially by the youth.

It is artistes like Daddy Owen, Juliani and Kevoy Yout just to mention a few, that bring these good youths to the church and this is a good thing(for those that only live for parties and alcohol).

Activities and concerts like the Groove Party atrract thousands of youths. Big up to all the gospel artistes. Good work.

Here’s how you can be the next Kenyan Big Brother show representative.

The Big Brother reality show is scheduled to kick off in May and auditions are beeing held for the next Kenyan contestant who might just be the next big thing.

Hoping that the contestants will be well mannered as all the previous ones,

Multichoice Kenya has invited everyone from all over Kenya to come and try out there luck.  BBA is known to open doors to many and bigger opportunities in various fields, like acting, music and the likes.

The BBA awards have always eluded Kenyans and we are all hopeful that this time round our representative will bring home the price.

This is the only chance you get to re-live your school days and actually enjoy it more than you plan to. It will go down at the Volar Club and Restaurant from 9PM till dawn.

This is a new theme that will change the usual same old clubbing vybes, and create new memories that will last a lifetime.

Jaguar challenges Prezzo once again

The King of bling might just have to step up to the game a little harder seeing as the competition is terribly stiff. Jaguar,

a bonified hustler and fans’ choice, has once again declared that he is better than Prezzo both musically and in lifetyle.

Jaguar who is currently driving a fine Range Rover, says that for you to be good in what you do, you actually have to do it and live up to your reputation.

Jaguar was quoted from a source saying, “Even if I was to take a break for the next year, I don’t think Prezzo would catch up with me.”

Cartel, “I sold my car for…”

Music/video producer, Cartel, sold his car to get something even way better. While most Kenyan celebrities are buying stuff to make them more comfortable,

living la-vida-loca, cartel is busy investing for the cold future.

His Pajero bought him new video equipment to produce better video quality. The camera he bought is very unique and quite expensive. We are looking foward to viewing the new videos.

Drummer Qween for Drum Jam Festival

The drummer qween is set for stage on the 22nd of January at the Safaricom House, Michael Joseph Centre.

Various artistes and bands will also be playing at the event,

which will be from 2PM to 6PM.

Entrance will be granted at Ksh.200 per head.

Don’t miss this band-set performance.

Kapella hitting ‘left right’

Kapella’s new single ‘Left right [looking at me]’ is getting a great reception on youtube. It’s actually one of the most liked videos in the Kenyan category next to

Camp Mulla’s Cypher.

Kapella is from the Coolagang Crew, an urban hiphop group that’s slowly rising to the top. It’s only a matter of time before they are the next big thing in the new generation rappers category.

‘Left right’ is about the Kenyan hype(which is the only music topic that will sell nowadays).

We are now just waiting for the video, and it is about time you start producing some to complete your good music.

Broke? No worries… Jaguar’s got you

Last Sunday was the Koth Biro football finals at the Ziwani Grounds. It was a lucky day for those that came unprepared ‘pocketwise’.

Jaguar just decided, since he loves his fans so much, to give them a little taste of his money since we are already sharing his music anyway. I have to say, that was a realy generous gesture from the ‘kigeugeu’ singer.

Fundi Frank had to esc*rt Jaguar out of the field as the crowd was getting wild.

It is actually encouraging to see that music in Kenya, with enough hustle, actualy pays.

Other artistes like Juliani was also present at the game. One thing’s for sure, I will be where Jaguar is at the next event.

How ‘Makmende’ turned Genge

Have you heard the remix on the ‘ha-he’ track? They just could’t resisit the genge flavour. Mgenge true,

The Godfather Nonini decided to jump on the track done by one of the best and most original band in Kenya.

The founder of the genge genre of music comes through with a rather fast-paces rap, fusing just right with the techno-like tempo beats. He later concludes with a marvelous last verse, kind of  something like “hatukua na mlango ya kubisha on opportunity! Tukatengeza opportunity in our own community…”. This represents the struggle Nonini went through when starting his music with Clemo and Jua cali, with a studio in the house.

The video will be coming out soon, and I can’t wait to see it. I wonder if Makmende will be on his violent mood this time.

Concert with Afro Jazz sensation

If there is anyone out there who doesn’t love jazz, there must be something realy wrong with your taste of music. But there is still hope for you. Afro-Jazz artist,

Christine Kamau, will be peforming at the Kenya National Theatre Concert mall on the 26th of January.

The concert starts at 7PM to 9PM. Tickets will be available at the gate. Don’t come one, but come all. Ghafla will definately be there.

The mystery of Kantai’s whereabouts

When Kantai’s ‘I got issues’ single and ‘I’m so happy’ with STL hit the radio stations and TV shows, he was the talk on most ‘raia’ mouths. The lyrical prowess that this n***a has is just awesome. You can also tell that he isn’t forcing his english ‘tweng’,

no, it’s just natural since he spent some time in the States.

Known as a ‘G’ to most of his close friends and haters, Kantai once ruled this music scene and would still be the king if he stuck to what he does best-Rappin his breadh out.

C’mon man, Brenda went on with her life in music, what about you G? New generation rappers such as Coolagang and Camp Mulla would go so well with you and your mad lyrical flow.

Remember ‘kewowo’? Yeah, it got us drunk and all hyped up everytime it was played. Come out from whatever hole your’re in Kantedda. We miss your flow (no homo)!

Is Mavado coming or not?

I think it’s time we accepted that the Mavado concert was not to be. After fans ran to the shops to purchase fresh white tees and pants (some even getting white boxers),

Mavado went on and canceled the show, sending the apology video to Youtube. That was that. It would have all been okay if they just dropped the story, but nooooo… both Mavado and the organisers (G Money crew) had to promise us a show on 28th January.

Well, here we are, one week to the ‘so called’ concert and we ain’t heard nothing yet. I am one of the Mavado fans and this is why I am so pissed at the organisers for not beeing real with us. I wonder what Mavado says about this. Are we to get another apology, coz this is getting old real fast.

I hope the Sarakasi organisers that usually bring a Roots Reggea artiste every 1st June will not less us down the same way (ignoring the fact that they brought Fally Ipupa last year-he is not a reggea artist).

Yes!…she is the African qween.

Emmy Kosgei has taken both Kenyan music and culture to higher heights. She has literally taken Kenyan music far and wide through out the world. Having been in various countries and continents to perform her songs,

Emmy has represented both Kenya and Africa to the fullest with her beautiful African attire.

Her sence of African type of fashion makes her stand out from other Kenyan musicians. ‘Trully Afican’ is the best frase to describe this artiste.

With numerous awards under her name(four time Grove Award winner), Emmy Kosgei is a force to reckon with. Her performances in any event are electrifying and unforgettable. Her song ‘Taunet Ne Lel’ is a huge hit all over Eastern Africa. It stunned fans when she performed the song at the recent promulgation celebrations.

Gospel music has taken over the Kenyan music industry and it is because of the likes of Emmy Kosgei. She is forever to be celebrated as an African Qween that she is.

Kaberere’s fyam ‘kiburi’ video.

Gospel artiste,  Kaberere shot the video for his latest song ‘Kiburi’.

The song is about a man who was given so much by The Lord,

but later forgot where he came from. Things turn bad for him later on. The lyrics to the song are available at the Ghafla lyrics website. The song was done in december 2011 as the first single in his solo project and was recorded by Timo at Still Alive Records.

The video was done by J Blessing.

Watch the video below.

On-line pirates still at large?

I know I know, we all have to stop, we realy do… but at what cost, huh? At what cost? To have to wait till we get enough money to purchase the original songs,

especially during this dry January! It’s expensive enough that I have to buy albums for Kenyan songs that I’m fond of (yeah, that’s right… I don’t support piracy for Kenyan music and movies). Despite some of us beeing partriotic and all, we are still hypocrates if we continue downloading other music and movies from pirate websites (but we just can’t help it). It’s as addictive as facebook and twitter.

Local sites like Tubidy and waptrick have us all flooding in to get these stuff free of charge, and we all know how we Kenyans feel about free stuff. Should we then blame it on the sites? Coz there is no way you would expect a Kenyan to say no to free goodies.

Wether you are a pirate or not, one thing we should never entertain is the piracy of local content. Let us just buy our music and movies, after all they are cheap nowadays!

It’s more soccer for Carol Radull.

Radio personality Carol Radull jetted to Johannesburg on Monday with the Supersport Crew, in preparation for the 28th edition for the African Cup of Nations.

She will be the host for a show called

‘Hello Africa’ on Pay TV station bringing in news about the African Cup of Nations. She will also be interviewing top football stars in between the analysis.

Watch her live on Super Sport 4(SS4), from Saturday 21st to 12th February, every evening.

Mr. Njiiru will however not spend Vallentines day alone, as Carol will be back in Nairobi on 13th of February.

Vallentine reggea love song from Linda Muthama.

For all those lovie-dovie reggea fans out there, comes a Vallentine reggea love song from beautiful controvercial singer Linda Muthama. The song will be released in

February and will is titled ‘sitaki’ (is it just me or are almost all Kenyan love songs titled ‘sitaki’, ‘mimi na wewe’ or ‘mpenzi’?). Anyway, it’s all good.

The song is about the usual cheating man(as if ladies don’t cheat), and has a reggea flow to it.

Linda Muthama will be performing the song on the vallentine week, and at the same period, will be shooting its video. Really looking forward to seeing the video Linda.

Kenyans on annimated comedy.

The Kenyan animation film industry is growing better and faster by the day. Even musicians like Jua Kali and Just a Band are fond of using them in their videos.

Alot of movies and documentaries have been produced in Kenya through animation, and are quite interesting.

One of the best animation films in Kenya by Kenyans that I have seen is the

‘Legend of Ngong Hills’. This is a short Maasai folk tale, based on an ogre who likes attacking a Maasai Village, eat their cattle and destroy their property. The ugly orge soon falls in love with a beautiful Maasai maiden, Sanaiyan. It is funny and like I said before, very interesting film. It is available on DVD in leading retails across Kenya.

I also saw another rather political based funny annimation film on YouTube, that replicates our politicians in the Transformers’ mode. Hahaha… I’ll not say much about this. You just have to watch it for yourself. Great stuff!

Watch both trailers below.

And Volume 2 is out…

Back again with their 254low, C-Mulla has done it yet again. Only a month since the 1st volume,

C-Mulla has collaborated with yet other lava-spittin rappers to give you this fast paced freestyle, 254low Cypher Vol2, with beats from Creme de la creme.

This volume presents Taio Tripper from Camp Mulla, B.L.C’s Smooth Poet, and MuthaLand’s Babu and Uneek. I don’t know where these n***az keep coming from, but I wish they were here way earlier.

The graffiti in the background is also so urban and fresh, and blends with the artistes’ flow and swagg.

If you ain’t seen it yet, here it is.

I’m Calling BS On This Whole Esther Arunga Drama

Like a cockroach that refuses to die, Quincy Timberlake has crawled back into our lives once again. Last time around he came under the guise of representing Benny Hinn Ministries. This time though, he has taken his trickery one step further, and is trying to ride on CNN’s brand to perpetuate his story. A ‘mysterious’ account named SydneyNews has been set up on the CNN iReport site, and has been dedicated to perpetuating news focused on Quincy Timberlake and Esther Arunga (NOTE: iReport is a section of CNN’s website where any Tom, D**k and Harry can submit news for CNN to check out).

What has followed is a pure propaganda campaign, aimed at getting the conman Quincy and his motley crew of God Finger worshippers back in the spotlight. Like any other confidence trickster, Quincy, Hellon and company thrive on any ounce of fame they can squeeze out of an unsuspecting public. The articles posted on iReport have Quincy’s fingerprints all over them. They contain unsubstantiated rumours about how ‘Raila tortured Timberlake’ or how Esther Arunga was forcefully aborted by Dr. Frank Njenga. The same unverified facts and delusions of grandeur that characterised the Finger of God Church are also evident in the article posted about how Esther Arunga will come back to TV with a 930, 000 shilling salary.

It’s a damn shame that other blogs on the internet picked up these fake iReport articles and reposted them as fact. Quincy Timberlake needs to stop his nonsense or be stopped ASAP. He has already destroyed the life and career of Esther Arunga, and other promising young ones who were gullible enough to fall for his conniving ways. He is an embarrasment to the Kenyan music fraternity. Let’s give this guy a media black out once and for all. I have now officially washed my hands of this matter.

From the slum film school…

From the largest slum in Africa, comes a project from the Hot Sun Foundation, comes the first ever film school in the ghetto,

Kibera Film School. Aimed at promoting talents in filming arts and giving opportunities to the Kenyan youth to tell their stories to the world, Kibera Film School rises from the dust of the shunty town to show that the ghetto also produces big revolutionary names.

Founded on August 2010, the film school can be found at Olympic, Kibera. It has been visited by various famous actors like Afre Woodard and connectors like Buddha Blaze.

For those aspiring producers who don’t have enough capital to enrol in film schools, visit this studio for more information.

Juliani:Na bado…!!!

He is the true defination of ‘from raggs, to riches’.Gospel rapper, Juliani has proved to be a man of his word and dreams. Since he started rapping, he mentioned his dream to buy a Mercides Benz in most of his songs-“nataka ku-improve niwe baller/ni-buy ki-mercides/lakini ma-fans hawataki ku-buy ma-CDs…” (from Mtaa Mentality). True to his word,

Juliani owns a silver Mercides C class, and to top it all, he recently added a BMW 5 Series to his garage, bought from his own sweat and determination.

This is a real husler and is the perfect example for all that I have been writing about (hustle in the music industry). It is without a doubt that getting money in this industry of ours is realy realy… realy hard. To make it, you have to have the heart and determination like Juliani’s.

Juliani started off from the great urban hiphop rap group, UKOO FLANI MAUMAU, and slowly but surely rose to where he is now (The most celebrated artiste in kenya). I remember his first video with Kitu Sewer ‘Na Ka’, way before he had dreadlocks, infront of a gate in Dandora, spiting mad lyrics… no one ever imagined him beeing who he is right now, except himself.

Juliani’s music is recognised worldwide. He has contracts with huge companies like Google+. You know what that means… more money!!!

With all this success under his name, it is great to see that this christian faithful is still humble. I would take my hat off for you Juliani, if I had one.

Silly facebook Kenyan celebrity comments…!

Facebook and tweeter is the in thing these days, with people saying what they’ve always wanted to say but couldn’t do it live. Celebrities take this chance to take swings at other celebrities, or even start up a wierd rumor as well as advertising their music and side businesses.

With all this, comes those that just post silly but funny comments on their walls,

like say for example, Gidi Gidiolla(his facebook username), often posts funny jokes and comments, like this one as his latest, “women say ati all men are bad……who told you to try all of them?”. This is followed by even more random and silly comments from friends and subscribers.

Another funny-post guy is the ‘Get Physical’ musician, Alfayo Way. Actualy, I won’t talk much about him, the photo for this story says it all (got it from his wall photos).

As for this status update, I will not mention his name but I will surely remember you in my prayers: “Are you still a virgin?…call 0726****** for help!” …I have no words for this.

Raw Music International features Kenyan Underground Music.

Raw Music International is all about ducumenting underground music from overlooked parts of the world. I know we all know some guys who do way better music than some of the acknowledged artistes here, but have not yet got the chance to be heard.

The documentary features contemporary music from

deep in Kisumu. The mixtape has a Reggea taste and a dose of Hiphop, by Olima Anditi.

Most of the underground producers, as is documented ,use fruityloops to produce beats for the hardcore rappers, and still manage to come up with good ones acompanied with great lyrical flow from underground rappers like Eli-sketch.

It is about time these magnificent producers and rappers received any kind of funding to support the talent out there.

Listen to the mixtape right here.
