Which East African Country Has The sickest Celebs Who Pull The Sickest Stunts?
A celeb is only as sick as their last stunt. If your celebs don’t stunt, they aren’t worth talking about. Nigeria is however just a galaxy ahead of any other African country. Therefore it would be really unfair to talk about Nigeria in reference to any other African country. So i shan’t.
Let’s keep all this local. Let’s compare Kenya., Uganda and TZ and see who comes out tops.
Uganda
Bobi Wine
Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine holds it down for Uganda like clip to tie! This lad is nothing short of an earthquake! Any doubts you may have about him should be done away with when i say, “Convertible Ford!” No? How about “ Cadillac Escalade”? Sit down lad. Take the entire seat!

Jose Chameleone
Fat Joe dropped an album called J.O.S.E and i’m pretty sure it was a dedication to this lad because Jealous Ones Still Envy! Jose Chameleone stunts like your daddy, his daddy and their chief!
Lad sits pretty in a Cadillac Escalade, a Cadillac Escalade, convertible BMW and a *defecate* load more of other big boy toys! Afterall, big boys do big things like drive big toys!
Bebe Cool

Lad does it big reclining in an American H2 Hummer. What do you have to bring to the table?
Tanzania
This lot is really conservative about stunting. But make no mistake about it, they stunt nonetheless… I just can’t find proof of it online.
Kenya
Jaguar
Kenya’s Jay Z of sorts is a lover of automobiles. So much so that he acquired a collection for himself.

1. A silver Range Rover Sport
2. A black Mercedes E240
3. A beige BMW 5-Series
4. His ninja car: A Toyota Mark X
Jimmy Gait
Jimmy got himself a classy Mercedes Benz C200
Nameless
Lad has a BMW X5. And for the haters that usually pop up, unless you drive something better, take a seat. No one wants to hear you whining.
And now to weigh the results: Uganda are the obvious winners. And by a mile. They are however followed by Kenyans with Tanzanians coming last because they have nothing to offer from the internets. There, Uncle Chim Tuna has said it!
Meet The Guy With The Most Facebook Pages
With the growth of social media in Kenya, there are sharp brains out here who have seized the opportunity to hustle and flow. So much so that social media has become the sole provider of their daily bread.
We’ve already seen the likes of Facebook King OJ Oballa make a killing out of social media, however now there’s a new blood in town. Aggrey Sayi AKA Aggrey Mmoja is a testimony that social media is a lucrative business. A 4th year B.Com (Marketing Option) at the student at Kenyatta University, Aggrey, has risen to become one of the most sought after social media marketer in Kenya.
Aggrey turned his addiction of Facebook into some serious cash in 2011 when he started social media marketing. You may ask where his inspiration comes from? Well, the social media guru divulges that the fact that social media marketing is relatively untapped and also much related with the course he takes and so it’s just a bed of roses for him.
Admitting that social media marketing is a money-spinning venture, Aggrey adds that apart from the cash, it also enhances marketing and visibility of businesses and brands. He’s even contemplating registering a social media company and also creating his own social media site.
So just how many pages does he manage? Over 50!!! Take a look at some of them;

Where The 5 Hottest Parties Will Be This Easter! Act Like You Know!
Kenyans love a party and the only thing they love more than a party is an excuse to party. I was caught flatfooted last year thinking no one would be out on Christmas. but my phone didn’t shutup the whole time!
And this time i’m not being caught off-guard. Let me tell you where the hottest parties will be this Easter. and trust me when i say that if you’re caught flatfooted this time round, you are nothing but a square! And no my fault be dat!
#5. Platinum Thursday – Changes Pub Westlands
Last week most of Nairobi’s celebrities that matter were in Changes. Check out these pictures if you don’t think i’m speaking truth.
But away from that, you had better be at Changes this Thursday. And if you aren’t, you’d better be at an overnight mass. but if you’re like me, cool, you know where to be at. Changes has the sickest offers all the way to midnight and the baddest girls will be out at Changes. The best dressed and the most sociable lot atleast. No ratchet lasses allowed in.
#4. Galileo Xtreme
This is where the party will be at on Good Friday. so come on down and celebrate life and love. Actually, come and celebrate your paycheck here! I know you’ve been paid, it’s Friday night and you’re looking for a good one. Well, this party will be the hottest on Friday! Rar!
#3. Aries Party at Crooked Qs.
I know you know all the hottest parties are in Westlands aye? If you didn’t, now you do, act like you do. and if your friend doubts you, slap him for me. Com on, no dulling, be quick about it. Good! Now, this one is for anyone who is or knows an Aries baby. The he-goat star sign wants to be celebrated and it must!
#2. Bacardi Beach Party
This one is for anyone adventurous looking to travel to the Coast. The only thing that should be your mind should be the sand under your feet, the starry skies above head and the beat drowning away all your sorrows. Well that and hooking up for the remainder of the night!
The spot to be at if you’re around Mombasa and it’s environs will be Aqua Bar. only catch is that there is a cover charge, 500/- from 2-8pm and 1,000 from 8-6am. The lads on the decks will be DJ Protege, Kaytrixx the Entertainer, DJ Creme and DJ Bonez.
#1. Santa Fe

why Santa Fe? Well, other than the fact that they have ample parking space (anyone who drives around Westlands understands just why i keep harping on and on about parking. But away from that, they have the sickest inhouse Djs and they are guaranteed to keep you on your feet all night long. It’s guaranteed to be a sick party all night long!
Top 10 Presenters With the Craziest Twangs!
In Nigeria, most presenters don’t blow grammar through their nose. They speak in accents and in a language that the locals can all understand. But that is “just” Nigeria: the only African country with a mature entertainment scene. And we are in Kenya.
In Kenya, our radio and TV presenters all speak with a twang. Some of these twangs are so forced they end up sounding zany. As i did my research for this article, a Capital FM news anchor struggled to say Willy Mutunga’s name. Sad. I strongly believe that we shiould embrace being Kenyan. i’m not saying speaking sheng on every station but i mean that we should speak like normal educated Kenyans do. Lose the twangs.
But with that, here is a list of the news anchors on either TV or radio with the zaniest twangs around:
#10. Yunia Amunga
Capital FM’s Yunia amunga’s twang is by far the easiest to decipher. Her twang is a domesticated one while most people on this list sound like pirates whenever they say something that has an “R” in it -like aspaRagus or actoR!
#9. Chao Tole
Yet another capital FM employee features on this list. Chao is a presenter on Capital FM’s “Lounge” and she has quite the pronounced twang. Oddly enough, when Brits come to live in Kenya, they don’t acquire the Kenyan manner of speaking… Atleast not in this particular manner of speaking.
#8. Ruhila Adatia
I often miss alot of what Radio Africa’s Ruhila Adatia says when she’s reading news off Ghafla on Kiss FM. I actually nearly didn’t pick up on the fact that she’s reading Ghafla until Baba Ghafla picked up on the fact! but she features low on this list because in her defence, she speaks like Busta Rhymes raps: fast. I like Busta.
#7. Linda Nyangweso
This Ms is a radio presenter on Kiss FM -seems we have a tie between Capital and Radio Africa. That means that i have to struggle to understand a word she says when she’s talking into the mic. I actually end up listening to her voice instead. and it’s actually quite lovely. Very soothing.
#6. Robert Nagila
This lad says his name like Elmer Fudd would. You know, the hunter on Bugs Bunny! the Wabbit hunter. yep, him. Wobert Nagila and he share quite alot in common.

And even Chrau Makwere once commented on Wobert’s accent at a press conference.
#5. Victoria Rubadiri
with such a lovely strong African name like Rubadiri, i’d expect this lass to be way lower on the list. But when her name came up, even Chege Miati insisted that she should be way higher on the list. Lass was on Capital Fm but is now on NTV. Spoilt vote! because of her Capital just might get away with not having the most “R” pirates on this list.
#4. Corrine Onyango
HomeBoyz Radio is well represented. How could any list of twangers be complete without mentioning Corrine Onyango? She doesn’t glide over the “R”s she says, she eRects monuments to them. You become awaRe of how many “R”s the English language has!
#3. Yvonne Chege
I’ve met Yvonne Chege. She’s a nice person. and she’s very beautiful. But we must discuss just how much this beauty who used to read news on 1FM twangs. she twangs so much that we noticed she shares aname with Chege. She was like a goat in the midst of sheep. 1FM presenters don’t twang at all. Then switching from Tina Kagia’s link to Yvonne Reading the news and you notice a staRk diffeRence.
#2. Charles Gichane
What can i say about this lad? He counldn’t say a Kenyan name! He actually fumbled. He reminded me of Tulugbe’s “Don’t Jealous Me!”, a webcam series where the lad…. It doesn’t matter. His teachers can’t say his name right and he rants about that. I would love to hear Mr. Charles gichane say my name during a debate. His tongue would slip and impale itself on it’s own sword!
#1. Makosewe
She made the list because i actually thought she was a Nigerian… For all of 3 seconds then i felt cheated. I felt betrayed. I thought there was a Nigerian at Capital. there was hope for me yet! but alas, it was all a carefully calculated lie to dupe hapless Nigerians into tuning in! But why Makosewe? Why Chris Kirubi? Why the deceit? Why the lies?
I’m done being melodramatic now.

Top 5 Hottest DJs To Watch Out For! These guys Are Guaranteed To Blow Up!
A year ago i did a piece about Kenya’s top 10 hottest DJs. the people who can get any party going. The list had amongst others DJ Creme, DJ Joe Mfalme, DJ Hypnotiq and DJ Hassan. But you can read it here. That’s right, just click the link.
but away from all that. do you know the hottest new DJs to watch out for? well, fret not. The ghafla Allstars led by the raving captain uncle Chim Tuna are here to tell you which DJs to watch out for. And trust me when i say that these youngins are too sick! It’s an epidemic on this here list!
#5. DJ Fresh
this lad knows his music and how to fuse the tracks together. To be honest he’d be number two on this list but he kept dropping set. I mean literally. The system kept switching off right as he worked the crowd up. Talk about blue balls. When i’m just about to burst a move, the music stops!
#4. DJ Abstrakt
First time i heard this lad mix up a set i was impressed. The lad actually managed to hold down an event at Santa Fe on his own. If that’s not impressive then i don’t know what is. The lad had Abstrakt Saturdays and he didn’t dissapoint.
#3. DJ Phillz

First off, i love this lad’s passion for what he does. And you get that from just having a 5 minute convo with boyo! and that’s even before you catch him on the decks spinning his 1s and 2s. and when he starts, you can’t help but jam along!
The next 2 lads are just where it’s at. all they need is that mainstream recognition. They have everything else underwraps. I dare say that it’s just a matter of time.
#2. DJ Fab

This lad is on another level. i dare say that that when he finally gets the higher ups to listen, he’ll blow big time! That’s actually the level he’s at! And to keep it real, i see this happening real soon. watch this space!
Lad worked under VJ Mobi’s Monster Radio and cut his teeth there. he’s mixed at Volar but if you want to dispell any doubts, catch him at Santa Fe doing his thing! but you’d better come prepared to sweat it out. Trust me, you will dance your heart right out!
#1. DJ Genius

If i had my way, Ghafla TV would be a reality. And i’d have this Dj on the decks. why? He has everything going for him. He actually spins at F2, not because of a lack of spinning opportunities, but because he’s a purist. He believes in that baptism by fire! And no one will give it to you quite like a Kenyan teenager.
This lad is just too much truth in such a small pack! But as they say, small things are explosive, don’t believe me? Just ask dynamite! Kaboom! This lad sets everyone on fire! Dey catch fire! What fire? Black fire! E have you dancing like you have the soul of a black choir! Yeah, i just borrowed some of M.I’s lines but trust me when i say that’s straight gospel truth! Ask yourself where all of Kenya’s best entertainment acts started out and you’ll have set all your doubts at ease.
Catch him this Friday at Galileo Xtreme if you need any further clarification.

Your favorite drink and premiere party planner, Bacardi, is back again with one helluva gig you do not want to miss. Bacardi wants you and your friends to have one of the most memorable beach parties this weekend.
This Easter, Bacardi will be at the Coast, with only one mission: to throw the beach party of the year. Your mission should you accept, would be to attend and celebrate like there is no tomorrow. Deejays Protégé, Kaytrixx, Crème and Bonez will be on the wheels of steel doing what they do best. Remember, it’s all going down on Saturday 30th March 2013 at the Aqua Bar, Nyali International Beach Hotel.
Gate charges are KES 500/- between 2PM and 8PM and KES 1000 thereafter (8PM-6AM).
Robert Alai Released
Controversial blogger Robert Alai is free on a cash bail. The blogger was earlier detained and arraigned before Milimani Courts on charges of causing annoyance to Francis Kimemia.
Earlier on Sunday, Alai had revealed in a tweet that Kimemia, some high ranking IEBC officials and a High Court judge had a secret clandestine meeting at a hotel in Karen.
That tweet seems to have not gone down well with the head of Kenya’s civil service, Kimemia hence leading to Alai’s arrest. the move however doesn’t seem to have gone down well with a section of Kenyans who took to twitter to show their support for Robert Alai.
Let’s wait and see just how this situation will play out.
Fena Gitu To Rock Godown Centre On The 6th Of April.
How much do I love Fena! For a musician of her callibre, she is pretty affable and down to earth. And once, at a very awesome event I attended and wrote about here, she was called on stage for an impromptu performance and not only did she oblige, she rocked it like she was getting paid to! The event was by Mumala, at Ethiopian Dass.
She is currently flying high with her club banger with Kagwe Mungai ‘Dutch’ and her own song ‘Africa Massive.’ So naturally when I saw this update on her Facebook update yesterday, I was stoked. Then Godown Centre officially confirmed this today “Performing at the GoDown-GiG, Saturday, is the one and only FENA.” The Lord must really love you and me.

According to the bio provided there, Fena started out as a back-up vocalist for Muthoni the Drummer Queen and Dela in 2009 before pursuing a solo career in 2010. She has since performed at several events in Nairobi and across Kenya, most notably: FENA LIVE AT SHEBEEN, FENA LIVE AT CHOICES, and Blankets and Wine. Others include Kilifi Arts Festival, Molo Footloose Festival for Peace, Arts and Beer Festival, Kinanda Arts Festival, just to mention a few. FENA has had the pleasant opportunity to share the stage with both local and international greats such as; Sauti Sol, Dela, Muthoni, Neema Ntalel, Harry Kimani, Kidum, and international icons; Fally Ipupa (Sawasawa Festival, May 2011), Vivian Green (Lounge Unplugged, September 2011), and UK-based singer/rapper Lush (Molo Footloose Festival for Peace, February 2012).
I personally love her other songs Fenamenal (wo)man and down, so I have marked my calender. See you there.

Kwani? Open Mic To Take Place Next Tuesday 2nd April 2013.
Have you heard of Kwani? Good. Have you heard of Cindy Ogana? Great! What about Raya Wambui? You should.
Raya is one of those poets that enchants and arrests with every word, every nuance and every action she ’embarks’ on on stage. If you haven’t listened to her, you need to. How about on Tuesday next week!
Kwani?’s open mic event is back and the poster is succint. “Open Mic is back at Arfa Lounge on 2nd April 2013 from 7pm. Purchase advance tickets at ksh200 via mpesa. Simply select “Buy Goods” on your mpesa menu, Enter the “Till Number” and follow instructions to complete the transaction. Tickets at the gate will be ksh250.”
Those details are in the poster. By the way I would encourage you to go, the few I have attended have blown me away! Cindy Ogana, Hot 96’s presenter and events guru is the EmCee.
Actors Monologue Challenge Takes Place Tonight At Club Sylk.
Last week I told you about The Actors Monologue Challenge and today is DDAY. The event is by Eddie Kimani prolific actor and radio presenter for Capital Fm among many other things. Entry is only 300 kshs.
The event’s bio hasn’t changed but incase you want a recap here goes. “This is a live stage event, where Kenyan actors showcase their skills in front of a live audience and industry professionals. Also, it’s the only show where the audience votes for their favorite performance.”
The 1st Actors Monologue Challenge, which took place on 29th January 2013 at Club Sylk was none other than Shirley Mungai. Carol Oywa and Chris Wangalwa were first and second runners’ up respectively and automatically qualified to take part in edition 2. That goes down tonight. Brian Ogola was the Audience Choice winner.
Lemmi go ahead to explain how the night works so that should you attend, confusion will not linger. In ‘AUDIENCE CHOICE COMPETITION’, the first 8 actors who sign up the night of the show get 2:00 minutes to perform a monologue on stage in front of a panel of industry professionals.
The second and main category is called ‘THE CHAMPIONSHIP’. In this round, 16 people who qualified through pre-vetted process, are given 3 minutes to perform a monologue of their choice. They are encouraged to bring props and costumes that compliment their performance. The winner of this round is the champions and will have to defend their title in the next edition.
Who Can Participate you ask? Anyone over the age of 18. Application for entry will be closed once the cap is reached or if the window for application has closed, whichever comes first. The limit is always 16.
Vote For Sauti Sol’s Soma Kijana In The International Songwriting Competition.
Sauti Sol are what ladies call heartthrobs. Their voices are known, their music loved, their posters adored, and their names whispered and sighed everytime male singers are questioned for talent or lackthereof.
They recently performed with Dela at Treehouse, if you missed that woe to you. And they had just come from Atemi’s listening party where she was launching her sophomore album, Manzili-state of mind. Well earlier today they tweeted that their song Soma kijana required your votes and I, have made it my mission to see that you do.

How? Simple, go to this link and follow the steps, I just cast my vote. When you go to the homepage, you have to submit your email address. Then, scroll to the very bottom of the page, the category is World Music, in all the categories, they are alphabetically arranged. Look for Sauti Sol’s name, it’s a few names from the bottom, click on the tick box to your left, scroll down to the bottom left on the cast your vote section and click that. The song you are voting for is Soma Kijana.
You can vote once a day.
Blackman Features Sara Mitaru’s Younger Sister Wambura On Nairobi Sessions.
Nairobi Live Sessions is back this week and it’s revamped! The set is different, and in addition to Blackman, Allan ‘Sucre’ Wanjohi joins the ‘cast’ so to speak.
Allano-sucre as he’s popularly known, is a photographer, music teacher, vocalist and bassist for Villagers Band and other singers like Dela. The videos by the way are shot by the amazing photography king Mutua Matheka. Now back to the song.

The guest this week is Berklee based student Wambura Mitaru. She also happens to be an in-law to Blackman. Wambura is an amazing singer and this video goes a long way in showcasing her vivacious vocals. She’s one of the Kenyans flying our flag high in Berklee in additon to Jason Sibi-Okumu and Kathy Kiragu, pianist Jazz Girls founder.

That the Mitaru sisters can sing is no secret, and I love that unique tone that colours their voices. In this clip, Wambura lives up to her name, making it rain on us vocally! But don’t take it from me, listen keenly to Radi and Umeme below and make your own judgement. Nairobi sessions seeks to slowly change the perception of East Africa and Urban Music. I for one is very convinced that talent abounds in these streets. Kudos Blackman.

Blackman Features Blinky Bill Of Just A Band on Nairobi Sessions.
Just A Band recently released a new song Matatizo, did you read about that or watch the video?

Well Blackman recently featured him on the revamped Nairobi Sessions and I have shared the video below.
If you missed an earlier story I did, Blinky Bill shared the story of how he came to fall love with the song Matatizo. Coincidentally, when that Ted Ex video was shot, JAB had not considered doing their rendition of that song. They thus came full circle.

The about section says “Blinky Bill of Just A Band performing a “Twende Kazi/Get Down” medley Live on The Nairobi Sessions. “The Nairobi Sessions” is an initiative by award-winning Kenyan Music Producer David “Blackman” Muthami to showcase Nairobi’s urban music scene. Totally un-rehearsed, the unplugged Nairobi Sessions introduce you to artists that you may already know and some that you will get to know.” I think that basically captures everything about this video. All videos are shot at a guitar shop in Sarit Centre. I think the name is Hedgehog Creative, I could be mistaken.

Heard Of #PurpleDayKe? (Pictures In Support Of World Epilepsy Awareness Day)
If you’re a spoken word or poetry aficionado in Nairobi, then you must know Sitawa. Wait, there are two Sitawas, both amazing female poets.
The one I’m refering to today however is Sitawa Wafula, Kenya’s Mental Health ambassador, poet, event organizer et al. Her cap has many many feathers. Now today, she is on the forefront of a campaign called #PurpleDayKe where Kenyans wear something purple and tweetpic it in support of the Epilepsy campaign. Below are some of the pictures posted thus far. Today happens to be World International Epilepsy Awareness Day. Some of the pictures include Daddy Owen, Boniface Mwangi and Robert Munuku of PAWA 254, Georgie Ndirangu, singer Zosi and Angela Muiruri, Miss Kenya USA.

And finally, because I support this campaign, I decided to tweetpic something I wear everyday.

House Of Lungula Cast Release Harlem Shake Video.
I just ‘introduced’ you to one of the actors of this soon to be released movie.
If you watch the video, the guy in red is Gerald Langiri who I just wrote about here. The whole cast of House Of Lungula decided to end production on a high note by doing their own version of Harlem Shake. It’s very brief but quite enjoyable.

It is one of those productions that has quite the cast! Have you seen them? Click here, that easy. House Of Lungula which I suspect is almost out is Kenya’s first sex-themed comedy. Lizz Njagah and her hubby Alex Konstantaras are the brains behind this clearly epic film. ‘HOUSE of Lungula’ is a Sexy Comedy movie touching on the sexual habits of Kenyans. Starring: Ian Mbugua, Lizz Njagah, Gerald Langiri, Sarah Hassan, Helena Waithera, Lenana Kariba, Gitau Ngogoyo, Nice Githinji, Diana Nekoye, Lydia Gitachu, Auma Njagah, Sheila Kwamboka and Alex Konstantaras. This is how she describes it. “It is not explicit but rather an overview of Kenyan’s weird sex habits. It features the crème de la crème of actors in the Kenyan industry and it will be out in a month or so”
Watch the video below.

HomeBoyz: A Tale Of Enterpreneurship Meeting Passion and Music!
When DJ John Rabar and his brothers started out, they were DJs. nothing more, nothing less: atleast on the surface. But the Rabar brothers had something special in them: Ambition. They wanted more and they had that God-given business acumen.
Armed with nothing more than that, they embarked on their journey. Maybe it helped that the three brothers were in it together. They were able to fall back on each other for support whenever things got complicated and rough.
Remember their beef with Code Red? Whatever the case may be, they won. They have a radio station, a football team and a rugby team. They had a bottled water business venture and have branched into event organizing.
So what’s the moral of the story? Well apart from celebrating HomeBoyz success, what i’m driving at is that we need more Rabar brothers in Kenya’s entertainment scene. We need more innovators. More businessmen to drive this industry further. Don’t just rap or sing. Actually turn it into a business.
The HomeBoyz portfolio has a rugby franchise, a football franchise, a recording studio, a radio station, they used to have a water bottling company and an events organising company. Think big! All this was built from a single DJ mixer and deck.
Robert Alai Summoned To CID HQ Over His Tweets
Controversial blogger and tech-writer Robert Alai was this morning summoned to the CID headquarters on Kiambu road for questioning. This comes after the blogger made “grave” allegations via his Twitter handle that the police felt contravened the law.
In the tweets, Alai alleged that Justice Lenaola (a High Court Judge in the constitutional division) was meeting some of the plaintiffs in the case and tagged Chief Justice Willy Mutunga in the tweet. Here is the series of the tweets;
“Why is Justice Lenaola meeting litigants? @WMutunga” Mar 24, 2013
“Isaack Hassan also has joined Kimemia and Lenaola at the club.” Mar 24, 2013
“Francis Kimemia and Justice Lenaola now meeting at a private members’ only club in Karen.” Mar 24, 2013
By the time this article went up, the controversial blogger was headed to Milimani Court to face charges. Alai was in the company of Norman Magaya, ODM Youth 2012 chairman.
Journalist Bogonko Bosire advised the blogger to go defend the tweets if indeed they are true, if not apologize. “My word to Alai as I always say, being summoned is okay, if what you wrote is True go defend it, if it is not apologize, but being summoned to defend yourself is a great chance for you to prove what you said is true……..We must always be ready to defend what we say and write, Social media should always exercise the highest standards of commitment to Truth…..Go tell the truth if it’s true and again Apologize if it’s not….That is my take,” posted Bogonko.
Alai has always been followed by controversy and you can catch up with that HERE.
Santa Fe Was Where The Party Was At! Check Out Our Photo Gallery!
Santa Fe was the location. Partying was the occupation. Look, i realize just how lame that opener was but please bear with me. I sweated out most of my awesome at Santa Fe gyrating to the tunes being kicked by the house DJs!
I was over at Santa Fe this past saturday catching the sites and sounds and enjoying what i do best: imbibing and mingling with the rest of the beautiful people. The party was off the hook because honestly, the Dj is really good. DJ Fab i believe is his name. i don’t want to know why he calls himself fabulous but truth be told, lad can mix with the best of them. Don’t get me wrong, DJ Fresh is also good but this Fab chap is just a cut above most of nairobi’s DJs.
Anyway, the service is really good -read fast. And friendly. Without further ado, check out the photos below:

House Of Lungula Actor Adds Fifteen Kgs For Role.
Fellow writer Jeff told you about this movie a while back. It is one of those movies that I bet will get tongues wagging for months on end!
The cast is a galaxy of local stars, see them here. Now one of the actors in the movie, who by the way is holding a dress in one of the pictures I’ve asked you to check out is prolific actor Gerald Langiri. He’s the guy behind the uber popular Facebook page and website actors.co.ke.
Gerald must be Kenya’s most famous screen lawyer. I think. He has been featured on Citizen T.V. court drama Mashtaka as a lawyer. He was in Mali on NTV as, wait for it, a lawyer. Go figure. He’s now a superitendant in the new Series Maisha that I wrote about last week. Well he stars in Kenya’s first sex-themed comedy House Of Lungula, and to clinch that role he had to add weight. Now Gerald has no hang ups about calling himself chubby, if his self -debasing status updates are anything to go by. He tells me he binged on junk food for two months to add a whooping fifteen kilogrammes! I wont even tell you how much I weigh, but I’m no where near 98 kgs! Exhale. Would you add or loose weight for a role? Why you ask? It adds to the humour! Apparently flab adds to the fab, for the character atleast.

Langiri who was born and bred in Mombasa, is quite accomplished as is evident. He was nominated as one of the best Kenyan actors during the 2012 FilmBiz africa search for the best actors in Kenya. He has done several short films under the One Fine Day Films workshops and has also established himself as a Casting Director with several castings under his name. His next feature film is from One Fine Day Films and Ginger Ink titled “Veve” to be released in 2014. He is currently working on a series which should start airing soon. Also cast is the much hyped series Two Sides which is still in the pilot stages. In 2012 he produced and directed a short film titled ” The bigger man” which he submitted to the U-Film-It competition and it won third runners up.

He took up acting as a career in 2011 and left a well paying IT Manager job to pursue his passion and desires. His IT knowledge led to him starting the website www.actors.co.ke. He’s been on the forefront to set up Kenya Actors, that motivated him to set up this site.
A member of the Kenya Film Television and Producers Association, Gerald hopes that the young aspiring actors will be able to better their careers via his initiative which so far has become the leading website for anything acting in kenya with a huge following and he is the to go to guy for information on acting in kenya.

Open Letter To Bloggers
Kenyan bloggers have come under fire recently from the Government and the public for the kind of material borne on their sites. Whilst, some bloggers are being bank-rolled to become certain people’s mouthpieces and gone ahead to spew detestation, there are sober ones who have rejected the tantalizing cash and stuck to objective blogging.
Such is the heartening story of rapper/blogger Cabu Gah. He recently turned down a lucrative deal from a politician who wanted to use him as a propaganda tool but declined flatly. In his words; “he wanted me to be their social media mouthpiece and to use my social media influence as a blogger and opinion-maker” to “shape people’s minds, propagate our political objectives, whip up our support online, expose the flaws of our opponents and push our agenda and ideals to the public through creative writting, opinion pieces,hard-hitting articles and mind control…”
It was at this point that Cabu Gah found it wise to advice fellow bloggers who might find themselves in a similar situation and get tempted to take the cash. Here’s counsel;
Dear Bloggers,
I dont know who you are working for…I dont know which politician has made You their Minister for Social Media Affairs…AND I AM NOT SAYING it’s wrong, No…It’s perfectly fine… But Listen here, if this country goes to the dogs…If this country goes up in flames…If this beautiful country falls apart… YOU MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED GREATLY. Are You writting the truth? Are You reporting facts? Are You on the side of justice? Can You prove Your claims??
Fellow Bloggers, DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CREATIVITY to burn this country! Hitler used propaganda. Rwanda used propaganda. Sierra Leone used propaganda. And Liberia used propaganda too. And through media PROPAGANDA,those countries went through the DARKEST MOMENTS Ever! NO AMOUNT of Salary is Enough to cover up the destruction of a Nation.
I LOVE KENYA TOO MUCH. TOO MUCH. And i’d rather live in peace with an empty wallet, than push political propaganda just for 32 cents. I am NOT JUDAS. I WILL NOT BETRAY MY COUNTRY. Social Media Bloggers, from Facebook, to twitter to the Kenya Daily Post, I ASK YOU IN THE NAME OF THE LORD GOD, NEVER LET A SALARY compromise Your Morals. PUT THIS BEAUTIFUL NATION FIRST. ALWAYS.
And May God bless Your creativity, talents, gifts and social media skills. Now and Forever more.
KENYA NI JINA. Nchi ni WEWE.
Kiss 100’s Adelle Hits Out At MPs
Last week, a section of Members of Parliament complained that the salary allocated to them is too low for their job description. The MPs even alleged that the salary would put them in a “compromising position” and make them miserable personalities.
This news did not go down well with Kiss 100 mid-morning presenter Adelle Onyango. Adelle lashed out at the MPs criticizing their move to demand for higher pay and told them to look for other jobs if they are not satisfied with what has been offered.
Here’s her rant…
So, there are some MPs already demanding higher salaries!!!!
“Four MPs-elect on Wednesday accused the SRC of setting a salary regime that would put MPs in a compromising position and make them miserable personalities….Mr Njoroge Baiyia (Githunguri), Mr Yusuf Chanzu (Vihiga), Mr Oyugi Magwanga (Kasipul) and Mr Johanna Ng’eno (Emurwa Dikkir ) told the Nation that reducing MPs salaries to as little as Sh532,500 was unfair given their job description and that of other constitutional office holders, whose perks remained high.” (Daily Nation)
When you apply for a job, you KNOW the terms of the job including salary and if you think the salary is to little you don’t apply for it simple. Can they go look for other jobs that will not make them “miserable personalities”!

Kenzo Now Offering Relationships Tips
After announcing that he is going celibate and even declaring that he is now a teetotaler, Ogopa’s Kenzo is now offering relationship advice. For some time now the singer has been sharing his two cents on matters relationship.
For some time now, the “Mama Milka” singer has been offering free relationship tips on his Facebook Timeline which has always been received with a lot of enthusiasm from his fans. However, today’s post was the most read and shared by his fans, I guess because of its feeling.

7 WAYS ON HOW TO MAKE YOUR RELATIONSHIP LAST FOREVER
Many relationships break within a short period of time but we all never take time to find the reasons why we broke up with our Ex-Girlfriends and boyfriends. So here are the ways to make your relationship stronger and it lasts forever.
1. BEING HONEST; If you aren’t honest with yourself, about who you are, what you want, where you are going… you can’t possibly be honest with your partner. So be honest with yourself first
2. TRUST; Nothing makes a relationship shaky faster than broken trust, it’s very hard to repair trust. Trust your lover from the smallest detail
3. RESPECT; If you want a solid relationship, respect is an essential part. You need to respect your partner’s needs and wants, their weaknesses and strengths, their dreams and goals. You need to respect who they are
4. COMMUNICATION; it’s hard to trust someone who won’t communicate with you well and effectively. this includes body language… become aware of your body language, and make certain that it reflects the actual words that come out of your mouth. Listening is as big a part. Don’t make conversations a competition Focus on things that you have in common that’s what brings you together
5. ATTENTION; when you give your partner and your relationship attention, they will notice and respond. When you give them less, they will notice that, too. Give your attention in ways that show that you are thinking about them, not about you. Giving your partner attention doesn’t necessarily even involve time with them. It can be picking out something that they will like and getting it for them, or making them something, or planning a trip that they will enjoy, etc. Giving them attention simply means spending time and energy on them, even if most of that time and energy isn’t actually with them
6. INTIMACY; the more intimacy your relationship has, the stronger it will be… provided that the intimacy is mutual.
7. COMMITMENT; everyone needs it for a good, strong, deep relationship. The commitment I am talking about here doesn’t have to be marriage. It simply means that you can rely on the other person to be there, to put effort into your relationship, to keep you near the top of their list of priorities.
My dear fans don’t just read this and leave it here. Apply them in your relationships…good morning

Julie Gichuru Reiterates That She HAS NOT Left Citizen TV
Shortly after the news that Julie Gichuru was taking a break from TV, the social media was flooded with all manner of hearsays with most guys arguing that Julie is after all not coming back to TV even after she had affirmed that she would be.
Monday afternoon, the anchor came out to dispel rumours that she has left Citizen TV and her return to TV is uncertain. “Oh my word, what rumors abound… Once again, no, I have not left Citizen TV and yes, I will be back on air in the near future :o)” read the post on her fanpage.
Even though most of her fans sought to find out where she will be and when she will be back, no response emanated from her camp. There were even tittle-tattles that Julie is headed to K24 to join her former workmates who moved to the Uhuru Kenyatta-owned TV station.
So for now it’s a wait-and-see situation.

Citizen TV Unveils Its Latest Screen Siren
I have no idea where Citizen TV fishes these sweltering anchors from but wherever it does, the station has never gone wrong about it. After unveiling two hot anchors sometime last year, Citizen TV has once again uncovered a new gorgeous anchor.
Last week, the station unveiled its newest stunning anchor, Syombua Mwele on the 7PM sports section. Until her debut on TV, Syombua or Sions as known by her workmates and fans was a presenter on Musyi FM. An award-winning (Groove Awards, Radio Presenter of the Year – 2011), Syombua is a born again Christian as well as a motivational speaker.

Syombua will now be hosting the “Jungu La Mwanaspoti” section filliing in the gap left by journalists who decamped to K24.
Ghafla! wishes Sions all the best in her new role.

Take A Look At The Amazing Site Sana Has Set-Up
I have seen several artists’ websites but I can tell you for sure that most of them cannot match the one that singer Sanaipei Tande recently launched.
sanaipeitande.com was established earlier this month and has more material than most sites that have been in existence for quite some time now. Complete with About, Music, Video, Gallery, Blog and Contact sections the site gives information about the artist and the upcoming events.

Furthermore, the site has a press and play button where guests can listen to all her hits just at a click on a button. Meanwhile her single, Wish, dropped Friday but has not been released online, however, be sure to catch it here.

But Alas! Kenyans Come Out To Support Robert Alai!
Controversial blogger and rabble rouser Robert Alai -whom i admittedly do not always see eye-to-eye with- has presented himself at the C.I.D headquarters. I salute that decision. it is better to walk in as a man than be dragged in like an animal.
Alai is allegedly being sought to answer to claims that he participated and promoted hate speech and made false accusations about Francis Kimemia, the cabinet secretary and head of Kenya’s civil service. Personally, i think it is brave of him to stand up for what he believes and to do so when he is speaking out against the government. With that said, the way he seeks to pass his claims is usually detrimental to the message he tries to pass across.
But with that said and done, Kenyans have started a twitter hashtag to support and call for the release of Robert Alai. others however are calling for punitive action to be taken against Robert Alai.
Get in the know by following the unfolding story on Twitter at #SomeoneTellKimemia and #ReleaseAlaiNow.
Sauti Sol And Willy Paul Set To Collabo!
Remember Willy Paul? Sure you do! When he’s not out making really stellar music, he’s out demanding 100,000/- Kenya shillings for a collabo. Speaking of which, i wonder whether Sauti sol will be parting with this amount and how that arrangement will work out for both parties involved.
But away from that, Willy Paul and Sauti Sol are reportedly set to do a collabo. a while back, the popular Kenyan boy band recently tweeted the following:
“Studio with Willy Paul. A Hit-Song in the making.”
![]()
i for one have always said that i believe Willy Paul to be a truly gifted vocalist and though the lad is a gospel artist, i’m sure he will still be able to work with the critically acclaimed Kenyan group seeing as how versatile Sauti Sol are.
This looks like it be more than a record to look forward to, it looks like a step in the right direction for Willy Paul in-terms of the growth of his career.
But i guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
Check Out This Video Of Shee Waruinge Twerking Her…
I just came across this interesting video of Shee Waruinge twerking and i had to share it. For those of you not in the know, twerking is an African American dance move performed by females that basically involves them shaking their yansh. Yansh for the uninitiated is the pidgin term for derriere.
So basically, i’m guessing Shee and her friend were just kicking it listening to some Taarab music and they decided to let loose or rather Shee decided to let loose. And you can enjoy watching her shake her derriere right here.

Changes Threw Down The Sickest Platinum Thursday Yet! Check out The Photo Gallery!
Changes was stupid sick last Thursday! Wait! My apologies. I have been accused by some readers of writing in a young way so i end up losing them because they cannot relate. Let me write this in proper English:
Changes was the place to be last Thursday. Dean Martin -the lad incharge of hosting Platinum Thursday- was celebrating his birthday and he pulled all the stops. So many celebrities were in attendance that had i not been drunk i would have posed for alot more photos. but never fear! Our new inhouse photographer vincent was at hand and he saved the day!
Check out the photos of the night you missed (if you weren’t sharp enough to come out then).

Photo Of The day: Jesus Comments On The “Controversial” Condom Ad!
The condom ad was a good ad. It addressed the real issues in marriage today. These days even women are straying. That is a fact and burying your head in the sand because the monster will still bite you.
And the only word Uncle Chim Tuna can come up with to describe the reception that ad received from Kenyans is hypocrisy. Kenyans are hypocrites. And Gado seems to share my point of view. And he has done a nice editorial cartoon about the same. Jesus has broken his silence on the condom ad.
Check it out below:.

Who Should Represent Kenya In BBA 8?
A couple of years ago, ok, so maybe not years ago. But a couple of months we asked you which socialite you thought would be a good representative of Kenya in Big Brother Africa’s 8th edition.
That was before the field was narrowed down. We can now take an educated guess as to who it will be representing Kenya. And that is why i’m asking who you would like to see represent you. The field has been narrowed down to Shaffie Weru, huddah Monroe or someone new.
Kenya has had her best BBA outing when a celebrity was taken to the house as an inmate: sorry, a housemate. Anyway, huddah monroe will bring sexy back but Shaffie will bring charisma into the house and let’s be honest, Shaffie weru can charm the scales of fish. But someone new, an ordinary Kenyan will bring the unkown into the equation.

but now you have your say. Who would you love to see represent you? Vote now!

Meet Ola, The New Girl In Nick Mutuma’s ‘Life.’
Grey and Glitter is one of those titles that rolls off your tongue in a poetic kind of way. Still wondering what this has to do with the title?
Meet Mutemi Ola, the beautiful and ambitious 19 year old C.E.O of Ola Fashion House. She, with Nick Mutuma’s help has organized an event and is inviting you. Ola fashion line is set to set the bar in the African Fashion industry. Her motivation? ‘I don’t think that the only way to gain recognition in the entertainment industry is by shaking your booty on a music video, I’ll let my work speak for it self’. My pal says that sadly, only the pretty girls say that and pretty she is! Grey and glitter is set to be held at Skylux on the 29th of March, and the entrance is only 500 bob. Think high fashion, think glitz and glam, think fabulous!

This 19 year old evidently knows what shes talking about. When asked why Glitter and Grey, ‘ I was hanging out with Nick Mutuma and Kevin Kemama and that’s how the idea came about’. She describes the event as perfect for any girl who wouldn’t normally attend an event at Skyluxx but wants to see what all the fuss is all about.

Please note, since this is a high fashion event, you have to dress up, “no RACHETS allowed’ reads the memo. The fellas must bring class to the red carpet too. “My birthday falls on the 29th so I thought why not celebrate, anyone who’s born in March will get a surprise at 1 am!” It is rumoured that bouncers will be on high alert as high profile guests shall be attending the event. There you have it.
