Big Brother Hotshots boss Biggie was not pleased by the fashion show display and the general behavior of the housemates and henceforth decided to slap them a week long cut of luxuries in their budget.

BBA Hotshots contestants were expected to win the 100% wager in order impress Biggie and win themselves supply of goodies that they usually request for. Biggie thought the housemates were over confident and that they only waited till the eleventh hour to put together their outfits yet they had a lot of time to prepare themselves for the fashion show. He didn’t feel the need to award them with goodies so they will survive with the little stock till Monday when food stuff will be brought in the house.

Biggie also had an issue with the housemates’ behavior; he was specifically concerned with the housemates’ lack of courtesy as they failed to welcome guests that were invited to impart more industry skill and insight to them. Their open display of not so pleasing manners in the presence of a make-up artist that visited the house also played a role in Biggie’s ultimate judgment for the fashion show event; he felt housemates should be thought a lesion from their ill character.

It is the second last Thursday of the month and a chilly morning in Nairobi. BBA Hotshots contestants lost the fashion show 100% wager therefore Biggie decided to punish them with a week long cut of luxuries in their budget; they will all be forced to survive on the little food they can salvage till Monday when they will be supplied with food stuff again. Nairobi senator Mike Sonko is full of surprises and the recent revelation about him being a skilled basketball player is the one that I guess will throw people off balance as maybe guys are so much used to him being ratchet.

Forget all the ratchetness that is usually associated with the Nairobi senator; this guys is actually a good basketball player. Give him the ball and the skills he will portray will leave you wondering whether really this is the one and only Sonko you have known all this while. Should Mike Sonko quit politics, basketball should probably be on top of his list as his next hustle because he possesses such marvelous skills when it comes to dribbling the ball and making a basket.

We all slip up and make ignorant comments but Pat Robertson of 700 Club honestly has a tendency to make offensive comments.One too many times.

And his latest comment about the possibility of getting AIDS from towels in Kenya has made people blow one, maybe three gaskets.

Anyhow, Princess Farida a chakacha queen turned gospel artiste sent us an email defending Pat.She is currently on tour in the U.S.A and stopped by the 700 Club,which Pat Robertson hosts.

This is what she wrote:

” When I arrived in America this week, I was not aware of the controversy surrounding a remark Dr. Pat Robertson made last week on “The 700 Club” television program.  On the same day I first visited the CBN studios in Virginia Beach, Virginia, The Christian Broadcasting Network had already apologized for the misinformation and deleted the comment from its’ online archive.  

Here is the apology published on “The 700 Club” Facebook page which is followed by more than a million online subscribers:

“On last Thursday’s The 700 Club broadcast, Dr. Robertson was responding to a viewer’s question about a mission trip to Kenya and getting Ebola. In his answer about the health dangers posed by such a trip, Dr. Robertson misspoke about the possibility of getting AIDS from towels. CBN recognized this error immediately and removed that statement from the online archive. CBN apologizes for any confusion.”

 Many people are unaware of how Dr. Robertson is constantly scrutinized and immediately denounced in the media for anything he says that could be incorrect, politically offensive or misunderstood.  Sadly, none of the media outlets who eagerly spread news of the unfortunate remark, with the purpose of condemning CBN, have followed up with news of his official apology.  Nor are they likely to do so.  Apologies don’t sell newspapers or go viral on the Internet.

 I am not defending Pat Robertson because I don’t believe that is my responsibility.  However, when I consider the millions of people whose lives have been blessed through the ministry of CBN, Operation Blessing, Orphan’s Promise, Regent University and countless hours of worldwide programming offering hope to hurting people, this particular mistake seems miniscule and a poor reason for damning a good man who has done so much good in his 84 year lifetime.  We all have elders who occasionally make incorrect or ignorant comments.  That is a simple fact of growing old.  But how many people will publicly condemn and permanently silence their grandparents or other relatives for one wrong statement, especially when there was no evil intention of causing pain or hurting innocent people?

 I am personally thankful for the grace and forgiveness granted me by my Heavenly Father for things that I have done wrong in my lifetime. I hope I will always extend that same mercy and blessing to good people who want nothing more than to share the love of God with as many people as possible.”

 

 

Kenyans were scandalized when a video of 700 Clubs’ Pat Robertson spewing out ignorant and distasteful comments about Kenya surfaced online.

The comments made by pat came off as incredibly offensive and ignorant especially coming from a program based on strong Christian Values. A program hosted by someone educated and allegedly cultured.

In the clip, Pat Robertson says that one may not contact Ebola in Kenya but you can get AIDS because people here really have AIDS.

 

And you could get AIDS from using towels here.He also added that you should not drink Kenyan water to avoid getting intestinal worms.In addition foreigners were urged to steer clear of ilk and milk products since Kenyan milk was not pasteurized.

This was in response to an anonymous audience member who wanted to come to Kenya for missionary work but had been warned by family and friends that a visit to Africa could be fatal due to the  Ebola pandemic .

After KOT went HAM on Pat Robertson following this ‘advice’ , the 700 Club went to Facebook to issue an apology.

This apology has however fallen on deaf ears and Kenyans want Pat to apologize on the same medium he used to dish out these comments. They want him to apologize live on air and personally.

Yesterday, Ghafla Kenya exclusively revealed that Radio Citizen’s sports commentator Geoffrey Mwamburi was admitted in hospital due to illness.

However, the presenter is out of hospital after being admitted for six consecutive days.

In his facebook account, Mwamburi is very grateful to all those who stood by him in prayer during the trying moments of his life and promised to be back on radio as soon as he completely recovers.

Do I sound like that proverbial prophet of doom? May be. May be not. But that is not what my intentions are. It is crystal clear that when it comes to the biggest reality show in continental Africa, the Big Brother Africa, Kenya and her East Africa neighbours are utterly disadvantaged.

That is the negative side of nations merging to form regions.

The voting process and how votes are counted puts us (Kenya and her neighbours) at a risk of losing the coveted award.

Already Kenya’s female representative Sabina has been kicked out of the contest after garnering the least amount of votes.

When evictions were done last Sunday, Sabina could have survived but because Uganda had a representative already evicted, Sabina had to bear the burden of facing the wrath of the panel. She had actually tied with another representative from Uganda.

That is how harsh the eviction exercise is.

But who is to blame?

Here is what happens. When you vote, your vote is counted as one. It is a country. So even if all the 40 million Kenyans cast their votes for the remaining contestant, Melvin Alusa, it will be counted as a single vote.

This explains why there are only 14 votes because the number of countries being represented in the show is 13 and those not represented are counted as Rest of Africa, and have one vote.

Early on I talked of East Africa not winning this contest. You see it will be so ironical for a Kenyan to vote for a Ugandan or a Tanzanian representative and yet our own ALUSA is in the race.

Someone is already asking why CMB Prezzo managed to juggle his way to the finals of the contest. That is simple. There was no other East African contestant to rival him. Prezzo was lucky.

With East Africa still well represented in the reality show, the contestants are likely to garner a vote each from the three countries. This is absurd, right?

Unless votes come from other countries in support of our own, ALUSA is likely to be back any time from now.

So how do we entice other countries to vote for our Alusa? That is the biggest puzzle that we must unravel.

Alusa’s survival is not in our hands. It is in the hands of other African nations.

40 million votes from Kenya= 1 vote

90 million votes from Nigeria= 1 vote

30 million votes from Namibia= 1 vote

40 million votes from Tanzania= 1 vote

30 million votes from Uganda= 1 vote

Et al et al et al…

All we can do is wish Alusa all the best of luck. But that does not mean we do not vote. We must vote for our own Alusa.

 

Kiss FM’s Kalekye Mumo, actress Liss Njagah among other Fundimentals movie crew went a notch higher to show their support for breast cancer when they collectively posted a photo covering their breast with safety construction hats.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people might be aware of breast cancer, Kenyan female celebrities decided to take a different course in raising awareness breast cancer awareness. The actresses who are casting for the Fundimentals movie went topless covering their boobs with safety construction hats then posed for a photo shoot.

Mhh it is a bold pictorial to show support for breast cancer; lots of accolades to these daring actresses and let us hope their effort have a positive impact on the war against breast cancer.

Her tenure at the BBA house came to an unforeseen end this Sunday and Sabina Stadler was sent home.This was after biggie announced that a 3rd contestant was going home.

It all came down to Uganda’s  Ellah and Sabina.Ellah could not go home since there was already another Ugandan kicked out off BBA that day so Sabina had to go.

Sabina has finally spoken up following her elimination and this is what she had to say:

The best two weeks of my life. Glad ill get to meet all the housemates again soon. I’ll miss walking around with a mic, biggies voice, saxophones, guitars, hiding food and alcohol. lol. thank you kenya for voting , I see you voted to the max, thanks.

I give God the glory because he chose me to be the Kenyan rep, cos trust there are other many Kenyans who r as much hotshots but all we need is an opportunity, to shine. The Nairobi County Senator has never ceased to amuse, amaze and astonish in equal measure. He is known to be hilarious, serious, curious and adventurous. All these and many more define Mike Sonko.

The Nairobi Senator has never stopped to make news, everyday. From his hairstyle to clothes, Sonko is the subject of discussion in Nairobi and beyond.

The world is still struggling to come to terms with the way in which the deadliest of all human diseases, Ebola, is causing havoc in Africa and beyond.

And as we all pray that the deadly virus does not get access to our republic, the Nairobi Senator has joked about the deadly Ebola disease that is ravaging the lives of West Africans.

In his facebook page, Sonko alleges that his health has been wanting for the last 2 weeks, probably because of the Hague Ebola.

Hague Ebola? That is scary Sonko! How everyone will interpret this I cannot exactly fathom but some of the possible interpretations are that either there is Ebola in the Hague or Hague is like Ebola to you.

 Oscar Pistorius trial after killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp came to an end yesterday when was given a five-year prison sentence after being found guilty of culpable homicide.

You read that right, 5 years for murder. If it was a common black mwanachi he would be huddled into a prison faster than you can say ‘Pistorius.’

This verdict has of course been met with outrage by the world over because its 5 years for murder .Ciku Muiruri took to social media to warn Mr. Pistorius to not drop the soap because Karma is a bitch.

So #OscarPistorius gets only 5 years, may be out, in as little as 10 months. But karma is a bitch and justice will be served – Don’t drop the soap son!

Well, he won’t be dropping anytime soon as he will be held in a one-man cell in a hospital wing.
