New York based Ghanaian-American MC Blitz the Ambassador known globally for his inspiring music is on his way to Kenya for a special listening party for his new album Diasporadical at Ebony Lounge, Westlands.

This will be on February 18th from 10pm where he will be hosted by Nairobi Rapsody in conjunction with African Hip Hop.com and Amarula. A world traveller and performer, Blitz has been touring the world and releasing new music without as much as a break. He’s currently gearing up for a tour across the motherland which will take him to Zanzibar for the Sauti za Busara festival and finally to his homeland Ghana. In between Zanzibar and Accra he will make a stopover in Nairobi, which will be his first visit to Kenya ever. His Kenyans fans will be the first to hear his latest unreleased album Diasporadical; this is special for Kenya to be first. On this evening, Blitz will be joined on stage by Muthoni the Drummer Queen who also has a remix with a top international artist and the DJ will be Just A Band’s Blinky Bill.  ABOUT NAIROBI HIP HOP RAPSODY

Nairobi Hip Hop Rapsody is the only home of classic hip hop in Kenya. This is the only venue in Kenya where the subculture’s fans can listen and experience the real culture. It was founded by Buddha Blaze Spark Africa, Abdi Rashid Jibril of Roots International and with the partnership of Amor Thige of Ebony Lounge who saw a need to create a space for the hip hop community to enjoy a dose of good hip hop music & culture. Gospel singer Willy Paul is a man of controversy. After all controversy, to some extent, builds an individual.

Great and successful celebrities have in one way or the other courted controversy and perhaps that is what has build them all along. So is Willy Paul going the same way?

The singer has courted controversy before, especially with his estranged girlfriend who accused him of being a cheat and that he once tried to strangle her.

The singer recently flew out of the 254 and it seems he was on a mission to land something brand and new, and white.

Through his facebook page, Willy Paul has flaunted a photo where he is posing with a white lady leaning on his shoulder with a big smile.

Well, his followers became irate and angry after seeing this, with many spitting their venom at the singer.

The Norway-based singer had an exclusive chat with Ghafla Kenya during the recently concluded Sportpesa Festival and among the questions our reporter asked her was who her Kenyan celebrity crush is.

Stella hesitated for a while and did you know what she said after all that hesitation? Hold on because you will be knowing that in a while.

The singer also reiterated that apart from music, she is immersed in books and that she wants to better her life.

“What do you think of Kenyan artists? Who is your favourite artiste in Kenya?” our reporter quipped.

Hardly will you ever find Nameless without his shades, durag or hat. The singer had hidden his eyes from cameras for a long time till now.

Even when being interviewed on TV, Nameless does not remove his shades. He once told KTN’s Betty Kyallo on Friday Briefing his ‘sun glasses’ were actually spectacles that why he never takes them off.

The hip hop industry in Kenya has been awash with beef among its artistes thanks to the stiff competition they are exhibiting and the desire to be the best.

Well, this might be working out well for the fan-base but not for the artistes themselves.

The greatest beef ever witnessed in the hip hop industry in Kenya is that between Khaligraph Jones and Kibera-born rapper Octopizo.

The two cannot simply be cooked in the same pot. Why? Their ego and desire to impress and be on the top.

This explains why Khaligraph Jones has sort the hand of celebrated Disc Jockey DJ Creme de la Creme, whom he believes will help ascertain that indeed he(Khali) is the greatest rapper Kenya has ever produced.

Mr, Embesha says that he is working out something with DJ Creme de la Creme and the moment the jam is out, everyone will nod in consent that indeed Khali is on his own level.

Jacquey ‘Wilbroda’ Nyaminde was one of the lucky few who happened to be gifted by ragga singer, Proff.

The hilarious Wilbroda, was among one of the few celebrities who were gifted with an exclusive copy of Proff’s latest album.

After being silent from music scene for a while, sensational regga artist, Proff is back to limelight with a big bang.

Proff dropped his eighteen track album, ‘Siku Nyingi’ which he has been distributing to his fellow celebrities.

Artistes really get it rough sometimes when performing live on stage thanks to the crazy things that their fans do.

When the performances get to their peak, fans get a bit carried away and resort to crazy and unexpected stuff.

Singer Kagwe Mugai has been a victim of the ratchetness portrayed in clubs and events.

Speaking exclusively to Ghafla Kenya, singer Kagwe Mungai narrated how he was taken aback when a female fan threw a wet underwear towards him as he performed live on stage.

Kagwe says that it was one of the worst moments he has ever had because it happened in the presence of her mother, who was also attending the performance.

Homeboyz went the extra mile to un-earth the beef between Kristoff and Oksyde. Apparently, Oksyde had released a song “Ile Mbaya” where he was plainly calling out Kristoff. I’m King Kong, who the hell is Kristoff?

 When Homeboyz made a call to Oksyde,he confessed that Kristoff had talked smack about him and he was only retaliating. Kristoff on the other hand seemed confused at the beef, It was something he had no idea of. He was naturally taken aback at being called out, he even thought that Okysyde was a girl who had a crush on him. 

In conclusion he said that he was okay with beefs because they made the industry grow, what he was not okay with was an artist using cheap publicity stunts and dragging his name along it. 

Kristoff

First thing first, I have no intentions of talking smack about Kenyan fashion bloggers; no no  that is far from my intention.  Since the birth of the movement a few years ago, we can all concur that the fashion circle has grown in leaps and bounds. However, don’t be duped into thinking that it has been for the better. It has outdone it self. Methinks  that this is a classical case of a dinosaur devouring  prey while its tail is getting consumed by a fire and Kenyan fashion bloggers are at the forefront propagating this agenda.They have forgotten their cause, veered off the road and into an abyss. Now before you rebuke and throw the first stone, hear me out.

1. They have set unrealistic standards.

I have an inkling feeling that most fashion bloggers in kenya have elevated themselves to “godess-status” and they no longer care about the basic common campus girl (who by the way is the only reason they have page views). They have become narcissistic, self-adoring women who only think about looking good while feeding the masses the poisoned waters of their own disillusionment. They appeal to the high-end kileleshwa girl who can afford these clothes they so effortlessly glorify on their blogs. What happens to the basic girl who is an ardent follower but who cannot even afford the least expensive lipstick from Pauline cosmetics or foundation from Suzie beauty? S/o all hail  Joy Kendi for setting realistic trends that the basic woman can follow with ease. This is not for show, This is not a competition. Start blogging as its obvious narcissism died with Narcissus. 

2.Most fashion blogger acquire their clothes from high-end boutiques for show, they take photos in  borrowed ensemble(that they cant afford anyway) then lie to our faces just how drop-dead fashionable they are! Shame.

3. Female fashion bloggers are just too many! Anyone who can access “admissible” outfits and a camera opens a free blog with wordpress or blogspot.They coin fairy-tale-ish names  then bore the world with their fashion tautology and bits that they lift (unprofessional) from other blogs. My 2 cents: pull down that substandard  blog, stop being delusional and for the sake of everyone stop lying to yourself. Fashion blogging is not an avenue for you to vent your anger , uncork pent up frustrations or bore everyone with how terrified you were when you got your first period! This is Fashion blogging, not a Gynaecology Clinic. 

4. Fashion bloggers have set themselves apart from the common folk. It is said that birds of a feather flock together,but these fashion people have taken it to a different level. They do more than flock together, they have no time for the basic people who they purport to blog for. They are mired in the “celebrity status” and only mix with their kind. Fashion blogging for crying out loud is not an elite proffesion, neither is it a passage way to heaven. Mix freely with people (learn from Joy Kendi,Lucia and Silvia Njoki) Its never that serious, beyond that make up and sometimes (borrowed dress) is a plain Kenyan girl. The Kenyan girl that we all want to see.

5. The Kenyan Stylista alias Franklin Saiyalel, you are undoubtedly Kenya’s best dressed gentleman but on a lighter note, lose that Pharell hat already, it is nauseating. try a turban for kicks, sometimes, blogging is not about the dapper bespoke suits, it is about expression. Believe me, you will better by far even without the hat.

6.The language is a little bit off, not much, just a bit. I know there are plenty of grammar Nazi’s out there waiting to check where I forgot to include commas and instances where I committed sacrilegious phonetic errors(feel free to judge if your blood can wash the mistakes away). Fashion bloggers you need to stop calling people lame names like: Darlings, sugardolls, pumpkins, cupcakes… (insert others here) the names are overrated. No one will die if they don’t hear them.

Juacali is a name that is synonymous with the Kenyan showbiz, he is the one versatile artiste who continues to be relevant a decade after he first joined the industry. Today he had some interesting information to share with Adelle of Kiss Fm.
