KTN and ntv have let go their earlier stand on analogue broadcasting to announce their plan for a comeback on digital platform.

According to information posted on its official Facebook page and its sister blog, ntv is making its way back on the screens as a free to air channel on a digital platform.

KTN too posted details of their comeback on social media.

The two television stations revealed they would be hitting the screens this coming Thursday the 5th of March 2015.

It seems the meeting between NMG’s founder and majority shareholder, Aga Khan and President Uhuru worked something out.

Meanwhile, you can also brace yourselves for the return of Citizen TV and QTV. It is reported that the four would be back on air at the same time.

 

Former Sakata dancer Zawadi Ndela passed away yesterday at the Coptic Hospital. From what I gather, Zawadi was in need of O+ blood as she fought for her life at the hospital but her body sadly succumbed.

Kenyans have taken to social media to mourn the dexterous dancer and one of them is Alice Kamande a close friend of the dancer:

The four leading television stations have been conspicuously missing from our screens for almost three weeks now. But are their viewers still missing them?

Even though KTN, NTV, Citizen TV and QTV have repeatedly been trolled on different platforms for their stand regarding digital migration, one thing for sure, they can’t be ignored easily.

Truth be told, since the four went off air, the dent they left hasn’t been filled. According to recent ISPOS poll, only 35% of Kenyans have access to set top boxes. In simple term, a staggering 65% of Kenyans have been on TV blackout since the switch off happened.

That begs the question; are you missing your favorite TV stations? If you do, which one do you miss the most?

Churchill Show and The Trend used to be the hottest shows that would make guys rush home to stick their eyes on telly.

KTN

Shaniqua’s Jameni was the show wobbling on people’s tongues before the switch off occurred. Hapa Kule News and Real House Helps Of Kawangware too had secured a niche on the station.

 

Citizen TV

Wedding Show and numerous Mexican and Philippine soap operas were flooding the station because housewives, house helps and children, who formed the backlog of the station’s traffic couldn’t get enough of the programs.

QTV

The Swahili focused station was the home of wrestling. At least most of the folks who I heard admitting they were missing the station said the adrenaline rush program was their favorite.

Sensational Wedding Show host, Sarah Hassan, has learnt a lot from her popular program on Citizen TV that she is now searching for her own man to settle down.

Many may think Sarah Hassan could be having a smooth sail with relationship but the truth of the matter is that the sultry TV host is having a difficult time just like any person out there.

Sarah together with two of her popular female colleagues are desperately trying to find their better halves and have gone all the way to please any dude that hit on them.

The three, Sarah Hassan, Lizz Njagah and Mumbi Maina have featured in a steamy cast dubbed ‘How To Find A Husband’.

Just to be clear, Sarah is only searching for a hubby in the new cast she has been featured. She plays the character, Carol who together with Abigail (Lizz) and Jackie (Mumbi) are faced with a mountain challenge of finding Mr. Right.

Things have been thick after the digital switch off. But you know all is not well in Nation Media Group when the rarely seen Agha Khan does away with of his subordinates to pay a visit to Uhuru Kenyatta.

The digital switch off is massive losses through advertising for the media giants and maybe it was time to bring out the big Cajuna to see if there was a way they could go back on air.

Lupita Ny’ongo has been in the news lately after she made headlines for donning a Kshs.14,000,000 dress that later got stolen and returned for been fake.

The America-based Kenyan actress is one of the most coveted and feted Kenyan actresses and her rise to fame has been underlined by her desire to give the best in the acting industry.

Lupita came into the international limelight after her starring role in the 12 Years A Slave which won heran Oscar award, effectively announcing his arrival in the acting world.

These got many wondering how and where Lupita acquired her prowess, with the latest being Larry Madowo who has penned an article marveling at the rise of the star.

Madowo remembers too well Lupita’s days as a Shuga actress, before she flew to the USA to try her luck. And indeed luck came her way as she wowed the audiences for her wonderful role in the aforementioned film.

Madowo is particularly surprised that Lupita wore a dress worth 14m shillings.

The documentary clearly shows how the rescue team has effectively been delivering its services to Nairobi’s less fortunate.

Having watched the documentary, I clearly understand why Mike Sonko is a man of the people.

eing famous for being famous is something relatively new in the 254 as people do not often understand how you can achieve fame by just being you.

Socialites are among those people who explode onto the entertainment scene with no tangible skills, gift or job. Their source fame is usually an exceptional behind and ditzy yet controversial opinion on things and that is why many people are quick to brush them aside as lazy, slutty, bimbos.

But Eric Omondi is not one of them; in fact he is close friends with some of the biggest socialites that include Huddah, Vera Sidika and Corazon. While many fail to see their value that includes spicing up the otherwise unexciting entertainment scene, Eric Omondi sees them as people of value, business wise. This is due to their huge social media presence.

Corazon and Eric have a special relationship as he discovered Corazon Kwamboka in Westlands,  took her to Buoart and since he needed a voluptuous woman for his video Qwelewu.

I love writing about Vera Sidika. I could write a best-seller about her. I could even come up with an original screenplay about her. It’s not that I like her. It’s just that there’s so much content I can drain from her. She’s like a well-fed Freshian cow from which you can draw plenty of milk, time and time again. So why are we so obsessed with her derriere as Kenyan men.

In our entertainment industry, there are a lot of beautiful women. But most of them suffer from a$s-deficiency. They are a$s deprived. As a result, Vera enjoys monopoly. There are no real competitors and if there are not business savvy. Vera’s good controls the market. There are no viable substitute goods. The others e.g Corazon and Judy aren’t making enough profit to be considered real rivals

People adore what they can’t get. Why does she have ‘lanes’ yet she is talentless? She doesn’t even have a definitive job. It’s not that Vera doesn’t work; it’s that her work is not recognized as legitimate within a sexist world that sees feminine culture and lifestyle as frivolous pursuits undeserving of any serious attention. At this very moment, there is a campus dude somewhere in Kenya who is just staring at Vera’s pool pictures while waiting for his omena to get ready. That’s the sad effect. The internet goes bonkers every time the socialite uploads a photo on Instagram. And she keeps doing it. She’s like those facebook pages which share so much links onto your timeline that you just have to click on one. Then when you click, you wonder why you weren’t clicking before. Then you become an addict and waste your life going through stuff that doesn’t benefit you in any way .

Why else would a ‘fat a4s’ woman become so famous? It’s because of Team Mafisi. I’ll tell you how the tale unfolded. It all started with one fisi who after seeing vera’s butt for the first time went on to describe it to his friend. “Wa wa wa. Umecheki hiyo video ya PUnit na Collo? Maze si kuna dem ako na haga hapo ndani. Maze enda tu ucheki.”. Just like that, a superstar was born.

I don’t believe in black magic. I always get the urge to pull a ‘mscheeew’ like a pissed off Nigerian sisto whenever I hear about black magic, but is it time to smell the coffee? Many Kenyan women have big derrieres so why are we just fixated on her? Somebody call a pastor.

We are all trying to figure out if it’s fake

Like keen scientists, we are still conducting studies that will help us ascertain if this wonder of the 254 is indeed what it appears to be. There are a lot of fake things bumping around on our streets nowadays. What if her a$s is like a Michellin tyre? What if she pumps pressure into it daily? What if she had it all constructed at a hospital in Mumbai? Will we all beat ourselves for being taken on a ride?

Both Milele FM and Churchill Show crew celebrated as one of their own recently welcomed a bouncing baby girl. Dr. Dr.Idikoko Ofweneke joins the like of Abbas Kubaff whose girlfriend also delivered a child this year.

Dr. Ofweneke is a radio comedian at Milele FM’s Teke Teke show. He occasionally makes an appearance on Churchill show as well.

The stand-up comedian recently became a dad to beautiful girl who was named Debbie Sande. The child was delivered sometimes last week.

Upon Debbie’s arrival, the funnyman penned down a lengthy message for his daughter revealing how he love her and the extent he was willing to go to protect her.

Victoria Rubadiri’s gorgeousness has often been described by many as exotic; her look is out of the ordinary and very unique in a good way.

Barely two years after they unceremoniously left Citizen TV for K24, the two veteran TV presenters are no longer at the Media Max-owned TV station.

Belinda Obura and Tom Mboya have been off air for a while and no, they are not on leave. The two are said to have been chased away from K24.

The two are among the many journalists who were poached from other media houses and lured with heavy perks, only for them to become jobless two years after leaving Citizen TV.

A close and reliable source has revealed to Ghafla! Kenya that Belindah and Mboya were shown the door after failing to live up to the expectations.

The two are said to have performed dismally, prompting the station’s management to relieve them of their duties and explore other options.

Belinda is said to have left late last year while Tom is serving his last month, which is this March.

Ghafla Kenya made efforts to reach them for comment through phone calls but they all proved futile as our calls went unanswered.

We also sort to know from one of the journalists who works at the station but he quickly hang up on us at the mention of the two, citing that he was busy covering the release of last year’s KCSE results.

Belinda and Mboya had worked as a pair at Citizen before moving to K24 where they were paired together again.

As a member of the fourth estate, the truth teller, you are often faced with the risk of broken limbs, death threats or death itself.

Not everyone will be pleased by your publication/exposé and we have heard of journalists and bloggers who vamoose into thin air never to be seen again, journalists receiving death threats, getting tortured or worse journalists being found lying prostrate on the floor, with a bullet in the head.

Eric Wamanji, a senior manager at the Geothermal Development Company was recently accused of sending death threats to Charles Kerich, an Editor of the Star newspaper.

According to The Star, Wamanji allegedly sent a chilling message to Kerich on February 11 that read “It is high time you stop publishing those stupid GDC stories or we silence you once and for all in our own way. Kwani Simiyu ate your mother’s money? He is in power to stay, he has all the blessings from the house on the hill and you will never fight him even with a million stories”.

The story that had Wamanji ticked off was an expose about the unprofessional conduct and indiscretions at GDC, whose CEO is Silas Simiyu.

We were in a deluxe and I bet the most astounding in the entire lodge which is probably one of the best habitations I have ever come across; it’s like experiencing 1945 and 2015 all in the same time period. It oozed out that medieval yet modern space with rustic décor all the way for the stairway to the inside. I’m talking well decorated high walls, wooden floors, alluring art pieces and mats and a well positioned fire place. “Oooh my” *Jeff Koinange voice*, I was surely going to enjoy this and God knows I did.

The bed was king size and the bathroom was completely modern with hot showers, but who cares about the shower when there’s a spacious bathtub. That was my first stop as I relaxed trying to savour the moment. I could have entirely gone with the moment if it was the phone extension and Winnie Mutua was in the other line alerting me that dinner was ready. She let out an evil giggle as if she knew what she had set me up for; a secret haven which she knew would immediately get me hooked.

Well, now dressed I made my way to the restaurant taste buds alert to what would in turn be the best meal I’ve ever had. Just like the rooms, the restaurant was also made of rustic décor with well hang pieces of art on the wall, including some of those alluring tribal masks on the wall. The tables were well laid out coupled up with dim lighting; it provided the best environment for a romantic dinner or a just quiet night out with friends. I think if you’re looking to make a life changing decision, this is the place to go.

Our waiter for the day would be Zuma, no he’s not from president Zuma’s lineage but he exhibited natural class and presidential service which I thought resembled that of royalty. Without wasting time, he presented us with our menu for the night which I must add had our taste buds busting with enthusiasm.

I specifically opted for tomato soup as my appetizer, potato wedges and chicken garnished with rose mary as my main meal and some black forest cake as my dessert. That was surely the best meal I have ever had and I surely had to know who the chef behind such legendary culinary skills was. My friend couldn’t even bring himself to speak for a while considering what he had just eaten.

Soon enough the chef was out of the kitchen doing his usual rounds and it was none other but Chef Kariuki formerly Tamarind and Sarova. Yes, the man had experience and he had the charisma which befits an executive chef. “Any complains?” he asked. Which obviously was a trick question; I could tell he was aware of what he was capable of. And I had complains alright, how I was going to walk back to my room considering how full my tummy was.

We had an interesting conversation on the intrigues of the kitchen and I came to learn pleasing people’s taste buds is not an easy job. And the beckoning question stirring my mind; Just how expansive was the place? According to chef Kariuki, Naromoru River Lodge was 75 acres of pure bliss well hidden for the adventurous to experience. 75 acres, my goodness! He specifically warned us of the tree hyrax which made scary sounds at night. I was not deterred myself, I loved it. Being the close of the clock where temperatures range high, the thought of making love with nothing but chirping sounds, a roaring river and tree hyrax’s making all manner of weird sounds was something definitely to look forward to.

 

 Forget the insane debate about ‪#‎ThatDress,the debate that divided,not just Twitter,but the World too. Here now is a new phenomena; A Kenyan’s unlikely romance with a terror group. Results? Horrendous? No,actually,Hilarious.

Kenya,more than any other East African nation,has borne the biggest brunt of the heinous brutality that the Somali terror group,Alshabaab is capable of.

We’ve had our fellow nationals maimed,killed,decapitated, brutalized, beheaded and incapacitated by these gangs of savage reprobates.

We’ve watched them blow up buildings, market places,moving buses and bomb up churches in the sheerest form of heartless savagery.

And when they dramatically stormed Westgate,our deep hatred for them was heightened over those dark,adrenalized days.

But Alas! The MOST HATED Terror group has now found overwhelming love and support from the very Kenyans it has spent years bestializing! Alas! How things change!

These same bunch of honorless hounds has,very shockingly, warmed themselves into the hearts of Kenyans….By,very ingeniously,announcing that they plan to BLOW UP PARLIAMENT!

And when Kenyans heard the news,they all agreed in unison! Bring it On,Shabaab! Blow them Up!

Clearly,however much Kenyans hate and vilify the Alshabaab,the only other group that takes precedent, as far as national hatred is concerned is; The Kenyan Parliament!

Yes,2015 is the grand Year You unbelievably learn that Kenyans HATE their own Parliamentarians more than their worst terror group.
