What PLO Lumumba Did May Utterly Infuriate Mike Sonko (Photo+Video)

Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba better known as PLO Lumumba is the kind of person who can insult you without having a single clue of what he said. His command of the Queen’s language is utterly mind-blowing.

Former Anti-Corruption boss, PLO Lumumba has taken shots at Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko, in a nice way of course.

PLO took Sonko by the horns when he was delivering a speech at a public function. He indirectly attacked him for his philanthropy that has been questioned by many.

The Nairobi Senator has been on the forefront dishing out cash whenever wherever, a thing which PLO says is ‘Sonkonization’.

The new word is the English vocabulary was the genesis of PLO’s grappled with Sonko. PLO defines ‘Sonkonization’ as the process of acquisition of material wealth by means that are unknown and unfathomable.

The definition is kinda long and requires Oxford dictionary to define terms used in it!

Huddah Monroe Savagely Attacks Capital FM’s Joe Muchiri…What She Told Him is Just Unmentionable

The internet has yet again been disturbed by two Kenyan celebs: Huddah Monroe and Capital FM’s Joe Muchiri.

It all started with this post by Huddah Monroe, a post where she showed a photo of a young girl with an old man whom she called a sponsor. In fact in the photo, the young girl is Huddah herself and the old mzee is your dad.

Here is what she posted:

huddah4

Then Joe Muchiri took a screen shot of the same, posted it on his Instagram account and bashed Huddah over the same.

This greatly angered the socialite and then she went on a rampage, calling Muchiri unpalatable and unmentionable names.

Here is what she told him on her twitter account:

Having been savagely attacked, Joe Muchiri responded to Huddah with this posts:

Huddah is already trending heavily on twitter following her rant.

Janet Mbugua and Her Husband, Eddie Ndichu, Share a Photo of Themselves On Bed Together (Photo)

The two lovebirds, Janet and Eddie, have decided to give the public a glimpse of how they spent their night after they got hitched. Their decorated bed makes Vera Sidika’s Kes 1 million bed look like a bad joke.

Janet and Eddie are still the hottest topic on social media. The newly wedded couple has been making headlines ever since they tied the knot last Saturday.

A few days after their fairytale wedding, Janet and Eddie did the unforeseen. They shared a picture of their ‘bed moment’ on social media.

The celebrity couple looked marvelous as they took a selfie on their king size bed. Apparently they were reciprocating to the numerous congratulatory messages that well-wishers flooded them during their big day.

Ouch! Sauti Sol Slammed For Dismal Performance In The U.S.A

Davido recently came to the country and gave a performance that Kenyans will never forget, mainly because it was a waste of good tickets and time.

From his dismal performance, Kenyans really let him have it, giving him an earful of why his performance was a failure of epic proportions. Never did I imagine that Sauti Sol who had traveled to lands yonder would give the kind of performance Davido gave us.

ssol.jpg

But as a reveler who got to see Sauti Sol perform claims, Sauti Sol is capable of a bad performance. This is what Jean Adero of word press wrote about their performance in Atlanta

“Over the months, I have watched their videos on YouTube, purchased all their music on iTunes, watched their interviews, and wished them well from afar, so it was obvious that I would be present, on-time, and on-schedule to watch them make their Atlanta debut, announced for 5 p.m. – 9 p.m last night. Unfortunately, Sauti Sol did not ever plan to deliver!  They arrived three and a half hours late, put on a “half-ass” show of 6 or 7 songs on a low-budget sound system, then hurried off the stage after 45 minutes. I wonder, did they know we were there?  Or are they cocky enough to think that they “have arrived” and no longer need to expend any additional energy on their lowly fans.” she mused

Socialite Shaniqwa Gets a Public Divorce & Strangles Lover With a Handbag Out of Spite!

If you think that sexual infidelity is the leading cause of divorce, you’ve got it all wrong. One of the top reasons married couples decide to split, and, believe it or not, is based on communication problems, a problem that came out to researchers as a top number one reason marriages fail.

As we all know, men and women communicate different. Men greatly cite their complains about women’s way of communication being nagging, nothing but nagging and complaining. While we women complain that men don’t validate our opinions and feelings enough. Now being married doesn’t mean this will change, same communication complains still hold water. Communication is a strong hold in relationships to the point it could make or break your marriage.

So Shaniqwa was the latest victim of a divorce from Comedian Sam West.

Being a celeb, the events had to be recorded!

An Open Letter to All Kenyan Celebs(The Old and the New)

Dear Kenyan celebrities and wannabe celebs,

(Yawn!!!)

I am bored. No really, do you call yourselves entertainers when your lives are but a big yawn-fest. And to make matters worse some of you neither have interesting personal lives, nor do you have good music to console your fans with. See what I mean, yawn-fest.

Here’s one thing you all need to understand, being a celebrity is more than just making music, like politicians your whole lives personal or public are defined by it and you have a responsibility to your fans to give them what they want, entertainment. It’s elementary and without that you disappear and fade into nothing.

But what bores me even more is that despite all the good work we do here at Ghafla to make you interesting, you still reprimand us and send us threats, some of you even death-threats (we are not moved). Don’t you know that scandals are all part of being a celebrity, and in essence this is us giving you free mileage and that from Ghafla (the biggest blog this side of the Sahara) is neither small nor cheap. We get paid for this.

And to you that pay us to put your names out and advertise with us, I have one thing to say to you, you do not own us. Just because you paid us once doesn’t mean we owe you anything, we won’t take down your scandal stories just because you think it’s ‘negative publicity’. Another thing, there’s no such thing as negative publicity, publicity is publicity, no matter what is written about you, you can spin it off to your favor if you have a good publicist. So hire one.

Last but not least, I want to talk to you about constructive criticism. What is constructive criticism? Well I have no time to explain so just Google it.

But when I write about your music and tell you I do not like it, please remember that is just one man’s opinion. I’m sure you have lots of fans out there that are willing to kiss your behinds and support your horrible music, but if I’m not feeling it, I’m not feeling it and it’s my right to tell you what I don’t like about it.

You are always quick to reprimand us when we say we didn’t like your latest song or music video, and call upon your blind followers to attack us on social media. But really it’s just hypocrisy because I’ve never had any musician or celeb thanking Ghafla for putting your music out there. Please stop with the double standards.

I really think we need a new crop of celebs out there that will truly keep us entertained and at the edges of our seats waiting to listen to their latest music and with their personal lives. Maybe then, these old farts in the music industry will learn how to do it.

p.s. If you think you have what it takes to be a true celebrity, then Orange is looking for you. I’m talking to all the wannabe celebs right now. The Star Africa Sounds 2015 Music Contest brought to you by Orange is your chance to finally make it and show the old crop of celebs what the new crop can do, and all you need to do is sing. Sing your hearts out.

If you think you’re ready, log ontohttp://en.starafrica.com/music/registrationand get registered today!

Yours Sincerely,

Khaligraph Jones Beats Nigeria’s Wizkid In His Own Song and Proves He Is Destined To Topple Sarkodie As Africa’s Finest Rapper (Proof)

Khaligraph Jones has being fighting unending wars with his musical nemesis Octopizzo over who is better than the other. The two do not see each other eye to eye thanks to this unending beef between them. In fact it is justifiable to argue that their beef has threatened hip hop music in Kenya considering that other rappers do not want to seize the gap created by the two to build their own empires.

However, I have come to ask myself why Khaligraph is wasting his energy fighting with Octopizzo when he should be fighting with Serkodie to establish his status as Africa’s finest rapper.

Now you are wondering why I am demeaning Octopizzo at the expense of his numerous jams. Well, honestly I am not because I have a lot of respect for Octo considering he has really grown from rags to riches and his story is an inspirational one.

Well, Khlaigraph too has a story to tell the world. Having been raised in Kayole, the singer was a bouncer in some club before discovering his talent in music. This is not my point though.

My argument is drawn from what Khaligraph did on Friday last week. I mean this ninja released a remix of Wizkid’s Ojuelegba which he calls Ojuelegba Refix.

What a jam people! What a talent! If I was asked to put it in the words of Jeff Koinange, I would honestly and simply say Smooooooookin’.

Khaligraph has talent and his latest song tells it all. Believe me you are going to forget Wizkid’s original song because this boy has done more than enough. As I write this article, Serkodie should be worried wherever he is. He is in for a rude shock because what Khlaigraph has done is a clear indication that he is in to surprise Africa.

Words do not speak volumes as actions do. So sit back and listen to why the Ghanaian rapper should step aside and give Kenya a chance to rule the continent ‘hiphopcally’.

Here is Khali’s tantalizing jam:

Super Hot ‘Empire’ Star Talks Of Visiting Kenya

Breaking Bad, Game Of thrones are some of the American TV series that have caught Kenyans by storm.

I am not one to buy into the hype, but I admit, Empire was really cool, worth all the hype. It was so cool that its finale garnered more Than 17 Million Viewers, and this excludes those that pirated their copies.

Now ‘Empire’ fans would be glad to know that one of its unbelievably good-looking actors Jussie Smollet who plays Jamal has expressed interest in Visiting Kenya.

In addition he would like to visit South Africa and Nigeria

South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ireland and Poland. Many more than that but I really wanna see these lands.

Fashion Fail Or Nah? Check Out This Swagged Old Mama And What She Wore

I was walking with my colleague Sheila to the Laico Regency ahead of the Jumia phone mega-sale launch that had been slated for 9 today. Just before where the impeccably dressed security personnel subject you to a thorough scrutiny (as if they can see your sins) We chanced upon a grand old lady of about 80 years old or more…

The lady had probably been dropped off by her chauffeur at the hotel and gone to enjoy some cereal over Mozart or Beethoven. But something was oddly strange about her, she had on, a flower patterned dress, in her hand she bore a flask… a maroon flask (if you care about details, it had a black bottom) her face was complete in a rather lopsided pair of pince-nez- those odd russian spectacles that old people fancy..

Her feet however told a  different story, her shoes did not match… One was yellow, while the other one was a shouting teal.

As she walked down the marble porch she stood for a moment and stared at her shoes, probably noticed that they were a different color and size. In that split second that  I took the photo below, she contemplated walking back to the car and changing her shoes, but chose not to. It is never that serious.

Uhuru, Kibaki, Raila and Ruto As Young Men With Their Newly Married Wives And Why Lucy Kibaki Was The Prettiest (Photos)

They are the most decorated politicians in Kenya today. With Kibaki having hang his boots as the third president of Kenya, Kenyatta currently sits on the throne with Ruto as his deputy and Raila giving them sleepless nights as the official opposition leader in Kenya after losing the 2013 elections.

However, looking back at their life journey, you will realize that it is only age that is really catching up with these four individuals.

Their life when they first married tells you that they were not only handsome and energetic young men with great ambition but also men who went for the best women their eyes could see and their hearts love.

Lucy Kibaki, Mwai Kibaki’s wife, seems to topple them all because according to the photo I am about to share, she was a definition of beauty.

So were current first lady Margaret Kenyatta, Mama Ida Odinga and Rachel Ruto.

Here are some of the photos showing the four women and their husbands when they were newly married and enjoying life to the fullest:

Papa Shirandula’s Awinja Parades Her Beauty In A Sexy Skinny Pant (Photos)

She might be a nottie in her role on Citizen TV’s Papa Shirandula (where she plays a naïve village girl from somewhere in Luhyaland) but in real life, Awinja is certainly a hottie.

Most people have a skewed view of Awinja, but most of these folks, if not all of them (mostly men) will turn their heads when they meet Jacky Vike.

Jacky or better known as Awinja is an eye candy who over a long time has been masquerading in an unprepossessing appearance in her role on TV.

The Citizen TV actress occasionally gives her audience a glimpse of her stunning beauty through the photos she posts on social media.

Jacky recently uploaded a tantalizing picture that caught the eyes of the thirsty bandwagon popularly known as Team Mafisi.

The actress was dressed in blue pant, brown elbow padded sweater, black beanie and black leather boots. She simply looked gorgeous!

Larry Madowo Stars In A Movie! Can He Beat Lupita? (photo)

Honestly, We didn’t think that this Journalist of renown had it in him, I mean, we saw him double up in confusion and disillusionment  when he made a debut on Auntie boss which was later given airplay at the very popular Friday show, “The Trend”  But let that be far from being the yardstick upon which his acting prowess shall be measured. For a guy that Was to be come “a man of cloth” nothing is a “Fleeting dream” He might have 3 left feet, but acting? That we are pretty sure he can ace. What he lacks in proper dancing will probably be made up for in acting…

An ecstatic Larry Madowo has taken to social media to announce the start of his acting career by debuting in a film dubbed “Unprotected” – He would disclose to his legion of enthralled fans that he was feverish and couldn’t wait for the movie premiere at which he would add “Acting” to his already brimming bio.

Huddah Monroe Disses Her Ex-Boyfriends Prezzo And Mustafa. Here Is What She Said

Huddah Monroe has been on the front pages recently following her travels across the globe, her controversial posts and her of course her businesses, including the one Ghafla exposed several months ago.

But one thing with Huddah is that she care less as she goes about her things every day. She rarely minds what people say about her or about the controversies she courts.

From Paris to Rome to Zanzibar, Huddah has enjoyed every moment she lives. And this comes several seasons after she broke up with her former boyfriends Prezzo and Mustafa and those we don’t know.

Sometimes back it was rumoured that Huddah was dating singers Mustafa and Prezzo but their affairs were short-lived as each one of them went their own way.

And now Huddah is showing them her middle finger in her latest post on her instagram.

Huddah has posted a photo of herself and says that she really looks at them and feels so sad for them. Why? Because she feels she is so pretty that they must be missing her.

Here is what she said:

huddah

huddahthebosschickSometimes I feel sad for the men I broke up with . I mean look at me ?

This Is The Chinese National That Has Wowed Many. He Has Became A Sensation On The Internet (Video)

Chinese are simply taking over, you can call it Chinese renaissance! With a population of 1.3 billion people, standing out to be counted in the heavily congested country calls for ingenuity. One which a particular Chinese man used to attract NTV’s attention.

Last night, NTV ran a story of a Chinese man who is giving the likes of the legendary Wallah bin Wallah (Swahili Mufti author) a run for his money.

Luis Dulyn, a Chinese national, has an amazing command of Swahili. The ninja speaks fluent Swahili one can easily mistake him to some dude from the Coast or Bongo.

Luis doesn’t even live in Kenya or anywhere close to East Africa, he stays in China. His interest in Swahili saw him teach himself the language.

Kenyans were baffled by Luis’ command in Swahili after NTV ran his story. The comments on social media were massive!

See video and comments posted below:

{youtube}0VSnIHc6Y2c{/youtube}

Brookenge Ubuntu: Yet NTV anchor Smirti Viryadhi cannot speak a word of swahili

Humphrey Mbabu: Mchaina anaongea kiswahili sanifu naye mtu wa NTV anauliza ‘nafanyanga nini’. Loo!

Raj Anthony Kengah: Indeed it’s Madaraka Kenya….hope we won’t find them in our Kenyan institutions teaching Swahili….#DoomSwahili

Papa’s Gyal: Why don’t you guyz also interview us Kenyans living in China and hear out experiences about this place? Kenyans are really having a hard time huku Na mmekuja Ku interview. Mchinese. Smh!

Milka Nyambura: Waah! Am impressed Kiswahili sanifu kudos Leo

Mume Wangu: Haha he even speaks good swahili

Hildah Wambugu: Woooow amaizing this reminds of a chinese guy in guangzhou China who speaks Swahili too,n yes ur right chinese is very difficult.

How Terryanne Chebet And Other Kenyan Celebrities Reacted To Bruce Jenner (Kim Kardashian’s Step-Father) Becoming A Woman

Kim Kardashian almost broke the internet when she slipped into her birthday suit, naked as a newborn showing off her hoo-ha and her ta-tas on the cover of Paper Magazine.

But she is not the only member of the Kardashian-Jenner clan who has ‘broken’ the internet, in comparison to her step-dad, Bruce Jenner, Kim merely bent it. This is because Bruce completed his transformation into a woman and posed in a variety of hot shots on Vanity Fair, looking like every inch a woman.

Bruce now goes by the name Caitlynn, a name he shares with his son’s (Brody Jenner) girlfriend who also goes by the same name only with a ‘K’ (she is called Kaitlynn). Its a bit awkward with the name thing but Bruce Caitlynn looks hot..I kid you not!

Here are some reactions from Kenyan Celebrities following this transformation:

Terryanne Chebet: Still piecing my thoughts together…what thoughts go through your mind when your father turns into a woman?

Joe W Muchiri: The Kardashians dad has decided to be their second mum SMH

Sowairina (Grace Msalame)Meet the New Bruce Jenner… Majabu Haya!! #Signs&Wonders #ThisWorldIsNotMyOwn

anita_caityly.jpg

Anita Nderu: Fell asleep on the couch and woke up to find #KUWTK on E! and Bruce Jenner was explaining to @krisjenner how miserable he had been for 65 years and talking about his transition. It tugged at my heart strings

I am happy for him(her), if what makes you happy does not cause harm (feelings can always be worked on) to other people! Do what you have to do! And Caitlyn Jenner ggggiiirrrrlllllll! You look amazing! All the best in your new journey. Isn’t she beautiful though?

Police Officer Posts Shocking Images Of Colleagues Torturing Suspected Al Shabaab Youths In North Eastern Kenyatta (Photos+Video)

Kenya has been hit by terrorists more than once since Kenyan soldiers invaded Somalia to deal with Al Shabaab who have threatened regional security.

The latest insurgence and arguably one of the biggest tragedies to hit Kenya in recent times was the killing of Garissa University students by the Alshabaab militants.

Since the unfortunate incident, security apparatus in the country have been on high alert to avert any attacks as Al Shabaab keeps on promising that they will hit again.

But the latest images emerging from Garissa are a big shocker.

A police officer posted images of him and his colleagues flogging suspected Al Shabaab youths in North Eastern Kenya, beating and torturing them as he said they are Al Shabaab.

The images shocked the nation to the core prompting KOT to start a hashtag  #stoppolicebrutalityinNEP. The police officer who posted these images is called Michael Orita. He has since denied speaking about the same.

He has also deleted the photos. But here they are courtesy of KTN:

Meet Lupita’s Sister. The Reason Why She Came To Kenya (Photos)

Lupita Nyong’o stealthily landed into the country for the first time ever since she became a Hollywood big fish.

This was over the weekend. The reason for her unexpected landing on the Kenyan soil was that her younger sister Esperanza was trying the knot.

The wedding itself was as enigmatic as Lupita’s visit and was held at the impressive Great Rift Valley Lodge in Naivasha.
Esperanza said “I do” to a reputable Information Technology consultant from Tanzania named Dadi Masesa .
According to the Daily Nation, the wedding had 300 exclusive wedding that started at 3 pm, with the reception being at 6.P.M

Aside from Lupita and her father other ‘important’ people included Raila Odinga,  Hassan Omar, Agnes Zani and  a politician known for his snazzy pin-striped suits Charles Njonjo.

Janet Mbugua And Eddie Ndichu’s Wedding Day Dance (Photo + Video)

We should by now be done with all these stories of Janet Mbugua and Eddie Ndichu wedding at Chaka Ranch, Nyeri, over the weekend. But honestly we cannot. I mean we have tried but cannot because Janet Mbugua is not your ordinary girl. So forgive us if you see another story popping up about her in the next one hour or tomorrow and days to come.

Having been granted this noble opportunity to piss you off with Janet Mbugua stories, let me introduce you to how the two danced during their funfest wedding that saw the Citizen TV siren break the hearts of admirers and team mafisi as she committed to the man, a banker who is likely to bank on her in years to come.

ndichu

It goes without say that as the two dance their ribs out and entertain themselves and the crowd that gathered to experience this affair, Chaka Ranch wedding setting should be, it actually must be, every wedding planner’s dream. It is not only elegant but also provides one of the most serene environments around the globe. But for you to marry here, your pockets must be really, really deep and full.

And Janet and her man held hands and showed their skill in twisting their waists and turning their bones all in the name of welcoming this big day and event.

Here is how it went down:

Misuse Of “Madaraka”: This Is The Photo Of An Army General Mistreating A Junior Yesterday At The Madaraka Celebrations

It was definitely a day to behold as the country celebrated 5 decades since Independence. The star studded event saw grand entrances by dignitaries, posh dressing, fashion fails and what have you.

It was however this photo below that has had Kenyans talk, and Kenyans do talk. It is the photo of a seemingly superior general standing disinterestedly as his junior wipes the dust off his shoes furiously.

Why a general would force someone his shoes does not make sense at all. Aren’t we all told that we should strive to lead by example?

This Is How President Uhuru Treated The Young Girl Who Broke Down In Tears At His Presence (Photos)

A couple of days ago, a pupil from Komaranch Primary School drew attention to herself when she wept for the head of state. Uhuru has since reciprocated to the rare greeting, he invited the girl to State House to rub shoulders with her.

Last week, President Uhuru made a pupil break down in tears. The country’s boss was on his way from launching ‘Last Mile Connectivity Project’ in Katulu when he decided to make an impromptu stopover to greet pupils by the roadside.

What First Lady Margaret Kenyatta Did Yesterday That Has Got Even Celebrities Talking (Photo)

It was Madaraka Day yesterday, the day Kenyans congregate to celebrate the attaining of self-rule, and  as expected, President Uhuru and his entourage had to address the national at the Nyayo National stadium.

Among those present was his wife, First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Uganda’s Museveni among several others.

But did you know that the first lady stole the show? Yes she did. As we got glued to our screens to see how the celebrations went about, all eyes were glued on the first.

She is the first lady to ever not disappoint. She is the first lady to win the hearts of many Kenyans through her Beyond Zero campaign, a campaign aiming at fighting maternity problems and promoting proper health care.

Forget that for now. Margaret Kenyatta looked stunning in her Maasai attire as the celebrations went on. She was the most glamorous person among those present and her dresser deserves more than just an applause.

first lady

Her choice of dress has really stunned many, with even celebrities joining to congratulate her and say how proud they are for being a real first lady.

Well, for Pierra Makena, she had to stick her boot out to the former first ladies. Here is what she said:

pierramac Kenya we waited for so loooong for such an elegant first lady. ..didn’t we? GOD IS KIND.  Happy Madaraka day indeed.

Why You Should Just Tone Down And Respect Activist Boniface Mwangi: What America Did For Him Will Leave You Fascinated

When Boniface Mwangi quit his journalism career in 2008 to engage in social activism, the former journalist had a big vision, an ambition and a passion that seems to be unmatched.

He covered every detail of the 2007/2008 post-election violence that saw Kenyans turn against each other, butcher each other, torch down houses, rape and destroy property worth billions.

It was the darkest year in the Kenyan history as more than 1,200 Kenyans were left dead following the refuted elections.

It was here that Boniface Mwangi made himself know to the world with his touching images and videos of the violence. He went on to win accolades for the same and later ditched photography journalism to become a social activist.

Since changing his career, Boniface has rubbed shoulders the wrong way with both the lowly and the mighty. He has collided with governments, giving them sleepless nights and always keeping them on toes. He has angered many supporters of the government for this and some do not like him.

In 2011, Mwangi started Pawa254, an initiative aiming at fighting societal ills through art. Pawa254 has since catapulted Boniface to greatness. He is a revered activist and his desire to better Kenya has seen him gain international recognition.

When US Secretary of State John Kerry visited Kenya, he had every reason to make a stop at Pawa254 offices along State House Road to see the wonders Boniface Mwangi is doing. When I went there myself, I was fascinated. I was impressed. I wanted to join Pawa254. (Guess my boss is not reading this).

And as we appreciate and hate Boniface Mwangi in equal measure, America is recognizing every effort this man is making.

The biggest Magazine in the US, the magazine that makes the list of the top 100 most influencial personalities in the world, the magazine that is so revered in America, has found space and time to talk about Boniface Mwangi.

As I perused through the internet over the weekend and holiday, I ran into this story about Boniface Mwangi under the section Next Generation Leaders: Helping Kenyans Find Their Voices.

Time.com, arguably the greatest magazine in America and the world over, talks into details about Boniface Mwangi, lauds his work and recognizes him as the man who will help Kenyans find their voices.

Well, as we sit in Nairobi and other places to bash Mwangi on social media, he is gaining international recognition and acclaim. Mwangi is for sure destined for greatness.

A Sad Letter From An Angry Chicken To A Luhya Man (I’ve Had Enough)

Dear Etemesi and all the other Luhyas out there

I am writing this today because i’ve had enough. Today is my turn to vent my fury. I am tired of being your slave. What’s wrong with you people? What’s this life but a pot of boiling water, Royco, tomatoes and vegetables? I understand my eventual fate but it’s not quite the befitting end. I know where I am headed. I know my remains shall be transported via plate to the table before I am laid to rest in your stomachs and buried with tons of ugali. Lakini tuache kuzoeana tafadhali.

Why would you do this to me? I’ve always been disciplined. I always know when to come back home in the evening. I am never late. I give you a lot of food too in the name of eggs. After all the things I do, you still find fun in terminating my life unceremoniously. Kwani can’t we all just get along?

You would think that my life would be tad easy given I don’t have to wake up early in the morning to brush my teeth, shower, put on make-up and go to work. Oh my bad! I do wake up early daily and that’s because that cock doesn’t know how to keep his big beak shut.

What? You think I can’t say it to his face that he’s a cock? What do you take me for? A chicken? You are right either way. I am a sad chicken.

I can’t even remember my birthday. I can’t remember exactly when I was born because you know we chickens don’t have calendars. I was the product of a street romance though. Mother told me she was chased around Busia town by father. She ran as fast as she could but he caught up with her near the Mama Mboga’s stall and proceeded to mount her while planting kisses on her neck

So yeah, there I was, conceived in glory, looking like a fly egg when I was popped out of my mother’s big behind.

Father didn’t exactly stay to be the bread winner of the family as he could only manage to pick up a few grains per day. He’s a well known player. Before mother knew it, father had eloped with another fat chicken.

chicken 2

So give us a break you Luhya guys. The life of a chicken isn’t exactly an easy one. The daily running from un-cultured humans, drivers and perverted cocks drains the energy out of us

As we pass through your favorite restaurant? What do we see? BAM! We see Julius, rolling on some grill naked. Beheaded to death too. I mean Julius ruled the streets, feared all round and there he is, rolling like a Martyr. Na tufununu tunasema mimi ndio next.

It’s not funny anymore. Every holiday season involves our lives at risk. Really….what’s wrong with you people? Why don’t you murder goats and cows at the same rate?

And nowadays you guys don’t even wait for special holidays anymore. You just be eating chickens left, right and center like we don’t matter. Take a chill pill guys. Eat kumbe kumbe or something

As you put my brother s and sisters in cages or tie us up to some poles, remember you are doing us a great injustice and violating our fundamental rights to life.

And all that rubbish you feed us in the name of food. May the Lord forgive you for that. Judgement day will come

And yeah, why do you all have to kill us by slicing our throats. Can’t you think of a more humane and creative way to do it? I don’t see humans having their throats sliced on the regular. Here’s a suggestion. How about you poison us with some food supplements? Oh! That puts you at risk of eating poisoned meat? Tell me something I don’t know.

To the issue of plucking off our feathers. Be easy. Some of us saved a lot for our Gucci feathers. You can’t just be all up in our business plucking feathers .

Anyway I can complain all day but you won’t understand. I just wanted the world to know my plight. Maybe one day someone will save us and I shall be remembered as the Martin Luther King of Chicken

Yours

-Etemesi’s chicken
