When it comes to tragedy few of us like top remember it and anything that remotely reminds us about the said misfortune is pushed to the back of the mind or avoided altogether.

Recently Richard Chacha gallantly went where even angels fear to tread, a dark time in his past.

The former NTV news anchor visited the accident scene where Emmanuel Taalam, Linus Kaikai, NMG’s Ephantus Mwangi and Frida Kirema and himself met their tragedy.

While the rest managed to recover, Richard unfortunately suffered from paralysis.
The trip down Memory lane reunited him with James Nkipai the man who took them to hospital after the road accident.

Chacha seemed at peace with the situation about this visit:

A clip of the Al-Shabaab insurgents attempting to raid a KDF camp in Baure Lamu has been circulating on social media.

This was after it was leaked by a British Blog and was then picked up numerous international media outlets and local blogs and traditional media have ran with the video.

The clip was apparently taped by a British Jihadist who was among those terrorists slain in the attack. However circulating this video could land you in trouble as it apparently contravenes:

• Incitement to violence… and that in the exercises of the right to freedom of expression, every person shall respect the rights and reputation of others.’
  

In a statement sent out to media houses Maj General Joseph Nkaissery stated that the airing and/online distribution of such inflammatory material contravenes Section 33(3) of the constitution and is also contrary to the provisions of the Kenya Information and Communication scat /(Cap 411 a).

Those who do not comply will have legal measures taken up against them.

In 2012, Dennis “the menace” Oliech stepped out in a maxi skirt for the July 2012 edition of Blankets and wine. His fashion statement was lost to Kenyans who were baffled by this skirt-wearing man and soon he was the talk of the town.

However this fashion statement cannot beat what Victor Wanyama wore , a picture of the Southampton Midfielder surfaced recently of him rocking a T-Shirt that bore the Confederate Flag at the front.

A flag that has for a longtime represented racism, many pre-Civil War injustices, murderous narrow-mindedness ,slavery and white supremacy in America especially in the South. It is also used by Skinheads and neo-Nazis in Germany after the Swastika was banned.

A flag that Dylann Roof, the 21-year-old white man who killed 14 black people in Charleston S. Carolina had posed with in photos posted on a white supremacist website.

So you can now see why Victor Wanyama is getting some flack for this photo.

One thing is for sure, there are people who have crazy money.

South African couple Steve and Nicky Fitzgerald who have worked in the hospitality industry for ages have invested over 1.48 Billion Kshs on a quaint opulent camp in the heart of Maasai Mara.

The recently opened luxury camp in Maasai Mara is called ‘Angama Mara’ and is expected to give a grand boost to the growing tourism industry which is still standing on shaky ground.

A few weeks ago a man devoured a sheep and now an 80 year old partially blind man was arraigned in a Narok court recently after he decided to take his chicken as a lover.

The accused, Samuel Gicheru, is said to have raped the said chicken on June 19 this year at Motonyi village in Narok North constituency. Charges which he pleaded guilty to when he appeared before Narok Senior Resident Magistrate Allan Sitati .

He was released on a bond of 50 000 Kshs or a cash bail of KES 30 000

A man in Siaya is nursing severe injuries in hospital after setting himself on fire following a love affair that turned sour and unpalatable.

Ouma Khalwale of Olara Village in Alego Usonga is said to have set himself on fire after returning home only to realize his wife had left with all children and belongings without his knowledge, reports Citizen TV.

The jilted man couldn’t hold himself back. He set out, got some petrol and smeared himself with it and set his own self on fire.

According to Citizen TV, Ouma couldn’t, however, bear with the pain he underwent and this forced him to roll on the flour as the fire ate away his flesh.

It was the neighbours who rushed to the scene, put off the fire and rushed Ouma to the hospital.

Unfortunately, much trouble awaits him as he is likely to face attempted suicide charges.

“Shock engulfed Nyeri earlier today as a goat delivered a kid with human like features…”  A popular Vernacular station reported the incident that happened in Mathira, Nyeri. 

 The circumstances under which the goat delivered the deformed kid are not clear as there are varied reports that oscillate from bestiality to genetic deformity which could have been brought about by inbreeding.  The probability of goat  having mated  with an animal from a different genus has  also been considered. 

Hellen Wanjiku, the owner of the goat was herself confounded by the birth, calling it bizarre and eerie as villagers in Mathira, Nyeri  flocked her home to inquire and speculate on the anomaly. 

The owner has reported  to  Vernacular station that the goat was browsing at the nearby Mt.Kenya forest where it is normally left unattended till late in the afternoon.  This fuels speculations that something might have happened to the goat in the thickets away from the knowledge of the owner. 

This comes only weeks after Nyeri made headlines with cases of men losing their genitalia in domestic rows.

Mum was seated right across me..Looking at me hard,ready for my answer.

‘A Lawyer…’ I said. Mum smiled. So did Mr. D.G Kariuki.

To them,this-and a few other elite careers-were the reason I was in school. It was the MOST politically correct answer to give. And the ONLY answer,anyway.

Satisfied that I was going to amount to a useful commodity in society,walking in and out of the High Court,I was admitted at Kegonge Boys.

But the craving is no more. Every young boy now…Probably in Form 2…3…4…wants to DJ. Or Rap star.

They seem not to be attracted by slow money. To them,a life of suits and paperwork and secretaries and early morning office calls is NOT exactly why they came into this World.

Nobody wants to report to office at 8.00am in the morning anymore…Nobody seems to want to leave the office at 5.30pm anymore.

Too boring. Too cliche. Too old school. Too tiring. Too unglamorous. Too pooh pooh.

Young people now want quick money…they want flashy cars…they want a horde of gorgeous babes around them…they want social media fame,they want unorthodox ways of payment.

Hollywood actor, Anthony Anderson, has court controversy after he was seen in a video making a monkey out of Kenyans.

Kenya’s rich athletics history has motivated America’s Sports channel ESPN to come up with a parody which has made Kenyans’ hackles rise.

Hollywood actor and comedian, Anthony Anderson and host Jimmy Kimmel worked on a mock documentary that profiles a Kenyan athlete known as Mzuzi Timato.

Titled ‘The World’s Slowest Kenyan’, the documentary focus Timato who is a failure in as far as running is involved. Contrary to what Kenyans athletes are known for.

But what seems to have vexed most Kenyans was the accent. While the parody was depicting Kenyan athletes, the cast used West African and partly South African accents.
