KUCHU KUCHU: Why Wyre And Bahati’s New Song Is More Than Just A Gospel Travesty. It’s A Complete Musical Disaster!

You know things are about to get real ugly-and awkward-when someone, anyone does a song titled ‘KUCHU KUCHU’. The name sounds tawdry. And in fact, in some countries, it’s a slang word for, eeer, homosexuality or gay sex. Time to puke!

Fresh from winning the Groove Award for Best Male Artist for the second time in a row, popular gospel whiner,Bahati, teamed up with Wyre-who teams up with anything and Rabbit King Kaka, another notorious collaborator,to release the shocking jam ‘KUCHU KUCHU’.

Aaaaaand, his fans were NOT impressed. Bahati hyped up the jam-as only he does-preparing his mass for devout followers for what he thought was a game-changer. And then he released the song. And,ummm, things went downhill, pretty fast.

Bahati’s fans were enraged that he had teamed up with Secular artists and was now collaborating with them. They made their feelings known. And they jammed his Facebook page with hundreds of messages of disapproval. Well, the song had already been recorded. What to do!!?

Bahati’s fans couldn’t understand why this young Christian crooner had teamed up with these secular stars, especially King Kaka, whose record of sinful lyrics and Satan-glorifying music is well documented.

Wyre can be forgiven. He sounds like a gospel artists sometimes. Even looks like one anyway. Plus isn’t he so sweet? Awwww! But Rabbit? No way! Bahati’s fans couldn’t understand how their Bible-totting idol was now doing music-making videos-with someone whose past lyrics have been condemned dearly.

But let’s forget the whole ‘gospel artists shouldn’t mix with secular artists’ argument. And focus on this one thing; the song itself.

Starting from the title, the song was doomed to fail even before it left the studio. And fail it is doing.

You need to have smoked some really special sort of Marijuana to concoct a title that disastrous and tasteless to the mouth.

‘KUCHU’ is slang word for HOMOSEXUALITY or gay sex. And then they called it ‘KUCHU KUCHU’. Surely, when the Lord wants to bring you down, he starts from the very top. Good job,Lord.

‘KUCHU KUCHU’ is  a sick tasteless, embarrassing title whose absolute uncreativeness and sheer absurdity deserves an award by itself. An award for the MOST HORRIBLE SONG TITLE OF THE YEAR.

And the Award should probably be a condom. Mounted on a wooden d*ck.

Bahati has a knack for collecting awards anyway. Picking up this one wouldn’t be so out of his court.

Away from the title and off to the song itself, which is so horribly written, you want to smack whoever sang it in the face.

I have a feeling that NONE of these 3 collaborators were even ready for the song. They probably met up at some album launch or something, and because they’ve all been so smitten by each other, decided that they’d milk this mutual lovey-dovey emotions and record a song as an ode to their undying love-and deep admiration-for each other.

The idea to record that song MUST have come from Bahati or Wyre who it has been proved in the past can collaborate with ANYTHING that can talk.

Fail.

The song is really about inspiring the youth (Yawwwwn) and reminding them that they can make it too despite whatever. And such predictable blah blah blah.

Yup! As if such songs EVER changed anyone’s life. Ever!

It starts off with Bahati’s very unpardonable voice. And jarring lyrics. It’s the usual Bahati bullcrap. Nothing new, nothing to look forward to.

Two seconds into a song that SHOULD be encouraging you and pushing you to reach for the sky,Bahati has already started whining. Same old lyrics, same old tone, same old terminologies, same old cacophony. And then we get to Wyre’s part. As if his verse has EVER been anticipated. Ever.

Just like Bahati,Wyre’s flow is the same. Yup, the same flow he used in those ‘Make A Choice’ songs and those Cecile collaborations is the same flow he employed for a 2015 sound. Ninja out here sounding like
2007.

Nothing to look forward to. And then Rabbit,he does try to spit some verses we’ve not heard before. But not verses we’d not spit for ourselves anyway.

The video itself is an eyesore. It lacks NO direction whatsoever. No storyline, nothing! Just some cover shots of dilapidated buildings and mass dumping sites and some random dude pulling a cart. Stuff your mother would shoot too if she had a camera and a free afternoon.

Wyre’s wardrobe is really, utterly off-putting. Whoever told him that desolate people needed to be inspired and encouraged by an apron-clad Wyre was the same guy who came up with the madondo part in Rabbit’s verse. Absolute laziness!

Plus Wyre would do with an urgent haircut. Really! And can also be bought another pair of shades now? It’s been 10 years already, bro!

The song,as it’s about to end (thank God),has a little opening for
Rabbit to murmur some ‘words of encouragement’. Oh, please! As if we are at some GES meeting in Dandora. Words of encouragement DO NOT work on songs! Ask Avril. Who tried the same lame stunt in the Welle Welle remix. And ultimately ruined a whole song!

The song, even before you know it,wraps up. Leaving you worse than you were when it started. Oh Lord of mercy! Who knew a word like KUCHU would put you off so much!??

Time for some straight sex now! I need to expend the negative energy!

Check out this excuse of a song below.

USA’s President Barack Obama ‘Sauti Sol Lipala Dance’ Takes the World by Storm! Oh Wow, You Will Not Believe Which International Media Houses Focused On Them

Sauti Sol, Kenyan multi-award winning band, have yet again made global headlines by making USA President Barack Obama break into a jig during his much anticipated trip to Kenya.

Sauti Sol were performing at a State House dinner event hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta, in honour of President Obama’s visit to Kenya (25th July 2015).

A picture of Sauti Sol hugging and shaking hands with the Presidents: Barack Obama (USA) and Uhuru Kenyatta (Kenya), and a video of them all doing the #LipalaDance has since gone viral and become a powerful sign of cultural exchange in the wake of globalisation, and a call for youthful ways of starting entrepreneurship. “Americans in California are now dancing to Sura Yako,” said President Obama about cultural exchange, during several of his speeches while in Nairobi.

Sauti Sol official statement reads: “We are more than thankful for the support President Uhuru Kenyatta has showed us throughout our career, and by extension Kenya’s bustling entertainment industry. Thanks to President Kenyatta’s crucial role in supporting local arts and culture industry in Kenya, our dream to perform in honour of President Barack Obama has reached fruition. Having both Presidents Uhuru and Kenyatta join us to #LipalaDance is undoubtedly our greatest achievement and a prize too big no award can trump. We thank our fans from around the world, global media and celebrities still reposting and sharing the Obama #LipalaDance clip: Watch President Obama Lipala Dance

Sauti Sol danced among the Presidents, Kenya’s First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Obama’s sibling Auma Obama, his National Security Adviser Susan Rice, the Ambassador of the United States, Robert F. Godec and a host of other personalities, dignitaries and politicians, among them American R&B and hip hop artist Akon.

Child Born In Mbagathi Hospital During Obama Visit Given A Name Like No Other

The frenzy Obama’s visit in Kenya has caused is just unimaginable. Some call it Obamamania while others will criticize us that we are not used to seeing the most powerful man on earth around and so we look like villagers seeing skyscrapers for the first time.

Whichever angle one will take to argue out their point, they are justified anyway.

While Obama was in the country over the weekend for an official visit as the first ever US President in Kenya, so much happened. Our lives were literally turned inside out with the visit. For a moment we felt like we were in another planet. Even cockroaches in our kitchens wondered why it took us so long to prepare meals. I mean we were glued on our screens to have a glimpse of Obama’s activities in the country.

In some maternity wards in Nairobi and the country all over, mothers were bringing life to the world. Kids were born; bouncing baby boys and little beautiful angels.

Airforceone Obama

Airforceone Barack Obama

But one of them, born in Mbagathi hospital in Nairobi, stole the show literally.

The mother of the newborn baby boy decided to name him AirForceOne Barack Obama, named after the plane that carries the US leader and his official names.

The mother says that she decided to name the baby Airforceone because she understands it is the plane that carries the most powerful man on earth.

Obama is highly regarded in Kenya thanks to the fact that his father was Kenyan.

Meet Kenya’s 28-Year Old Multi-Millionaire,Henry Waswa,Obama’s Greatest Example Of Young Entrepreneurship.

Little is known of Henry Waswa. A young entrepreneur who is taking the nation by storm…Forget the Mike Sonko shenanigans. Or the Babu Owino flamboyance. And welcome Joseph Waswa.

The whole of Western Kenya-and Kenya at large -has been going gaga at one young Kenyan who,in the true words of iconic Hip-hop group,Kalamashaka, anafanya mambo.

Joseph, born some 28 years ago in Sirisia,Western Kenya, almost hit rock bottom in 2008 when after much soul-searching and much hassle decided to leave the life of abject penury in Sirisia and venture out to find a life… And a better one at that.

Henry Waswa, the newest flamboyant kid on the block, tired of living from hand to mouth, left for Mombasa from where his life took a whole new turn… The right kind of turn.

But not that fast.

He did put up with may hours in the streets… Some odd jobs, knocking on doors that wouldn’t open, making a billion requests for which he never got a reply and even did a stint cleaning cars and shoes before, once again, he got fed up with the life of struggle and street hardship.

And then an idea struck! He remembered that he had a friend through whom he’d secure a loan. And start a business.

He approached the friend and next thing you know,he had a loan in hand. And a business idea immediately came to him.

Clothes shop it was. And sure, it did materialize.

Henry Waswa’s ever the enterprising mind, launched a sleek boutique shop in Mombasa’s Bamburi area. And aptly named it MaureenJoseph. And before you knew it, it took off. Faster than he thought. And started repeating results. Quicker than he expected.

And then he thought he’d start a food Chain. And with some money with him, most of which he made from his clothes business,Waswa, still very business-oriented,launched a food court.

Great idea.

With time, his Cafe would records hundreds of hungry clients who would flock into the shop to replenish themselves. With his tasty bitings and sumptuous meals.

Waswa boarding a plane for a business trip.

Happy that his businesses were doing so amazingly great,Waswa, who also is called Hendrix Waswa, got into the entertainment industry.

He opened a sports bar called MONTENGENE in Mombasa’s Mtwapa area…

Before long, another club came up. And yet another. And another.

He currently has over 5 state-of-the-art clubs across the Country. Clubs that record hundred of revelers every weekend. Clubs that shake the entertainment industry. And clubs that have set an attendance record across the board.

Waswa, still bitten by the entrepreneurship bug, thought it would be wise to venture into yet another money – minting business. And that’s how his Car-hire business was promptly born.

A keen listener advice and an industrious soul,Waswa brought the car business to fruition. And the fruits started bearing sooner than he thought.

Henry Waswa with a business friend.

The first people to boost his car business were his fellow millionaire pals… The guys he’d go out with, the guys he’d do business with and the fellows he’d play golf with on his good days.

One by one,his loyal moneyed pals, all of whom have,in past interviews commended him and praised him as a humble guy, committed businessman and focused young leader, flocked his car hire business hiring cars and plunged him to more and more riches. The business shot up quick. And quickly,he had acquired as many as 20 cars… Classy cars.. From just 3.

And now,his car business is valued at over 100 Million Kenya shilings. Oh wow!!!

Henry Waswa still keeps God first. Prays everyday and puts his beloved family and little beautiful children first in everything.

Henry Waswa’s fortunes stem from his real estate business too which had brought him the 100 million he has invested in in car and houses across the Country.

Henry Waswa also educates at least 13 young boys and girls in the village. All of whom he doesn’t just pay school fees for but also feeds, clothes and shelters.

Henry Waswa is quite a popular figure across Western Kenya and is a close friend of major politicians across the Country and especially in Western Kenya some of whom are said to have camped at his home to seek financial support during the 2013 elections.

Many of his friends say that Hendrix Waswa should vie for MP but Henry Waswa has not yet made his political stance clear.

He has avoided the topic many a times but his fellow constituents have also gone on record urging him to vie for a seat. And he might be considering it.

Well well well…. Way to go Henry Waswa!!!

Show these young men the way. And keep the #GES dream alive. As ONLY You can.

Apart From Dancing To Sura Yako, This Is The Other Thing Obama Did To Sauti Sol

Sauti Sol got a boost of its career when its members were invited to State House to entertain the most powerful man on earth, Barack Obama, when he visited the country for the first time as US President.

Obama was captured dancing to the tune of Sura Yako, one of the best hits the group has ever done. His dancing skills caught the eye of the world, with credits going the boys’ band’s direction.

But if you this is the only thing Obama did to Sauti Sol you are in for yet another shock.

The group has been publicizing their album they are planning to launch very soon. The album is called Live and Die in Africa. It is a highly anticipated album.

And as Kenyans wait patiently for the album, Obama came with the same message: Live and die in Africa.

In one of his very insightful speeches during his visit, Obama encouraged Kenyans to make Kenya a better place. He said one does not have to cross the seas and the oceans to developed foreign nations to make ends meet.

He insisted on making Africa a better place for everyone. Obama’s sentiments resonated quite well with the name of the album the group is planning to release, an album which encourages people to value Africa, make it a better place by working hard.

This has got Sauti Sol, which is already riding high in the continent, highly elated.

KUCHU KUCHU: Relax,Bahati Fans…Eeer,Fanatics. It’s Absolutely Right For Bahati To Collaborate With ‘Secular Artists’. Isn’t He One Himself,Oh Wait….

After Bahati, yes, the Bahati, dropped that unexpected Kuchu Kuchu thing, umm, song,a lot of Kenyan homosexuals rushed to YouTube. Thinking that, finally, someone had done a song in tribute of them. And their politically-correct bedroom activities. Oops…

Let’s chow down this whole Kuchu Kuchu thing. And dive straight(no pun intended) into it’s mere happening.

Why would Bahati,a young man we’ve come to associate with Church and Bible hop into a studio to record a jam with Rabbit? A not-so-holy rapper? I’ll tell you why.

It’s because, unlike in REAL Christian Worlds, dominated by REAL Christian singers (Doen Moen,Lenny Le Blanc) ours is not so much as a Gospel Industry. Strictly dedicated in worshiping the Lord in spirit and in truth and glorifying His Word. Or evangelizing to the lost.

Our industry is a tad bit different. It’s a ‘Gospel Industry’ alright. But strictly dedicated to fleecing folks and fattening wallets and bedding high school girls and buying cars and living large.

The greatest mistake we’ve done, and continue to do,is attempt to think that our ‘Gospel Artists’ even mean what they sing. Or say in those unbearable ramblings they call music.

We’ve,time and again, erroneously elevated them too much. And looked at them from a prism they don’t deserve.

We’ve,way too many times, assigned them some status they DON’T deserve. And overestimated them. When really,90% of them are a bunch of secular artists who’ve smartened up to know that they have NO chance in the secular industry and so,they have to pretend to love God. Or care about Him. While releasing puke-worthy songs and calling them ‘Gospel Music’. And fooling gullible masses along the way.Win.

Maybe Mercy Masika, the blessed angel who brought you the smash-hit Mwema is in the Gospel Industry. Maybe Eunice Njeri is in the Gospel Industry. Maybe Jemima Thiong’o is on the Gospel Industry. Or maybe Isaac Kahura is. Or the Kassangas.

But if life has taught us anything,it’s that NOT every teenage laddie that jumps around-they all jump around-saying Lord Lord is really the real deal. Wait, don’t we have such a verse in the Holy Book? Maybe not exactly.

Can Bahati work with secular artists? But of course! Isn’t he secular anyway? Has he proved in the past just how ‘Gospel’ he really is? Has he ever demonstrated any form of Christian exclusivity in the past? Has Bahati ever walked, talked, sang, dressed or acted like he’s called? And set aside by The Lord to serve him?

All of these ‘Gospel’ wonder kids are really secular artists. With a creative play on the name ‘Yesu’ in their songs. And a very tactful approach to Kenya’s Music Industry. As a whole. Smart asses.

I would not be shocked if I woke up and realized that Willy Paul has done a song with Kenrazzy. Or be surprised if,give me another random ‘Gospel’ artist please, has dropped some song with the gimcrack G-Kon. Or even woke up from the same bed with Risper Faith. Why? Because I didn’t view them as Gospel artists in the first place anyway.

To me,they’re always lost souls. To me,all that act has always been a smokescreen. To me,they’ve been taking us all for a ride anyway. To me,they’ve never meant a word they said. Or even pretended to mean it.

And so,when I see Kenyans shocked that a ‘Gospel’ artist is working with secular artists,or partying with them or appearing with them in videos and album launches,I’ve always wondered, ‘Why are you shocked though!!?’ Aren’t these people one and the same thing? Don’t these people act all the same anyway? Dress, talk, think, sing, compose and perform all the same? Has there ever existed a distinction? Ever? Hardly.

Is there any fundamental difference between Wyre and Bahati?

Is there any striking difference between Kevoh Yout and Redsan? Hope Kid and Radio and Weasel?

Is there any noticeable difference between Willy Paul and any other ego-centric dancehall star wannabe?

Is there any difference between any member of the now-defunct MOG and Patoranking??

Hope Kid

If there’s anything our so-called ‘Gospel artists’ have taught us,is that we should NEVER take them seriously. Or imagine that, even for a minute, they’re into this whole boring Church thing. Or that they care about this Messianic Jesus guy even for a minute.

To them,it has always been business. And nothing else. And you can tell it from the way they carry out their trade from their many, childish ‘Gospel beefs’,from the profane way they dress and talk, from the laical inner fights they always have in that dark industry of light, from the chaotic way they bungle up and doctor Award ceremonies and from the way they form bitter, ruthless cliques around the Industry. Cliques you can’t penetrate. And Cliques you need to pay some sort of Italian-mafia type of allegiance. And even fee.

Nonsense!

They were NEVER ‘Gospel artists’. Just some guys who did party songs for some sacred guy called Jesus. And got way with it.

I wouldn’t be shocked if I found them in my favorite strip club, anyway.

I mean, hasn’t it been proven what a bunch of amorous sex-mad deviants they really are anyway?

Go ahead and collaborate with whoever you like!!!

Ya’ll one and the same thing anyway!

Pastor James Ng’ang’a Of Neno Evangelism Allegedly Kills A Motorist And Flees (Photos)

Controversial Neno Evangelism preacher Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a is once again on the spotlight after he allegedly killed a motorist before fleeing the scene.

According to Mediamax, pastor Ng’ang’a was drunk-driving when he caused the accident.

It is alleged that the controversial preacher who owns a church at the Haile Selassie-Uhuru Highway roundabout was very drunk and was driving on the opposite side of the road when he hit a Toyota Saloon car head-on with his red Range Rover, killing the driver of the Toyota Saloon instantly.

He then fled the scene, leaving other occupants of the Toyota Saloon trapped in the car with serious injuries.

According to an eye witness, the city preacher was driving his red range-rover, KCD 0600 Q, on the wrong side when he had a head on collision with another Saloon Car. After the fatal accident that killed the driver of the Saloon car on the spot, Ng’ang’a fled the scene leaving other people in the saloon car in pain, Mediamax reports.

It is also alleged that his car’s insurance cover had expired and he had bribed the police as cover up.

This is not the first time Pastor Ng’ang’a is hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

He was accused by his former wife of infidelity and harassment when she filed for divorce and the upkeep of their daughter last year, something that cast the rot in the house of worship.

While Obama Was Hailed For Bringing GES To Kenya, The Daughter To Keroche CEO Isn’t Pleased At All. This Is Why

Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2015 opened Kenya to the world and as such Kenyans were all happy to learn of new opportunities that were up for grabs for them. But one Anerlisa Muigai wasn’t very happy per se.

For starters, Anerlisa Muigai is the daughter to Tabitha karanja, Keroche Breweries CEO. The eye candy attracted the attention of many when she slammed the government for preaching water and feasting on red wine.

The essence of GES2015 was to provide platform for exchange of innovative ideas by entrepreneurs from all over the world.

Anerlisa took issues with the government for intentionally/unintentionally trying to suffocate her mother’s business.

She says Keroche Breweries was conspicuously missing on KRA’s book of companies that are licensed to continue doing business in Kenya.

Anerlisa questions the State’s ability to support local businesses as it claimed during GES citing witch-hunt in her mom’s company.

I am here watching the #‎GES2015 and just heard that we should invite the international entrepreneurs to come invest in our country, but my question is, why is it still hard to support our own first and give support. It’s just yesterday KRA published a whole page of companies that are licensed to continue doing business in Kenya, but from the list, Keroche Breweries was missing. It raised alot of questions and until now nobody has been able to answer why it was missing. As much as you want to welcome the global entrepreneurs, keep in mind that you will forever be employed. It’s clear that investment in this country, as a Kenyan, is not welcomed. Tabitha karanja is the same woman who won both Business leader in East Africa and Africa in 2014. She was featured as one of the most influential African in Forbes magazine 2014, she has also appeared in both local and international media stations speaking about her business. So what is this she is been denied or doubted about? #‎thought

NTV’s Ken Mijungu On The Receiving End Of An Unprintable Tirade Over His Job

NTV news anchor Ken Mijungu rarely makes headlines. He always tries to avoid sensational headlines on our websites and social media but this time round he is not a lucky man.

Ken is in the spotlight after he was mauled venomously over what he does at NTV. He is the latest victim of the unforgiving controversial blogger Robert Alai who has launched a scathing attack on his work and character, leaving social media flabbergasted and taken aback.

Starting off his lynch with unpalatable words, Alai went on to assassinate Mijungu’s character, calling him a sycophant masquerading as a journalist who is boot-licking politicians to get government jobs.

Alai based his tirade on a story Mijungu did about the opposition and the government. This, according to the blogger, was a poorly researched piece that was partisan and meant to taint the opposition in favour of the government.

It is all about politics.

Alai said:

My friend Ken Mijungu is growing to be one pathetic a*s licking human for a scribe. He doesn’t think beyond cheap and desperate moves to seek attention and beg for government jobs.

His piece on the opposition chief lectured raises more questions. What he called Raila’s telling off the west is not telling off but just a meaningful reasoning out by then PM.

Journalists worth their salt have the balls to call and verify information. Call Raila, Kalonzo, Karua and Wetangula and verify the information. What Ken Mijungu is engaging in is just equal to mass murder of population using the excuse of smoking out criminals.

You can’t besmirch all just to seek to make a point. Ken Mijungu utalamba tako hata ile imejaa “diep.”

Ababu Namwamba Does It Again! What He Did With His Woman In Dubai Is Jaw-Dropping (Photos)

Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba has hit headlines before for both the good and the bad reasons. But one thing we cannot ignore is the fact that this legislator knows what a woman wants, and so he knows how to give it to her.

Ask his baby mama Priscah Ababu and she will tell you for free that Ababu is as a romantic as anyone of us would want to be.

Not long ago, the two littered social media with photos of their romantic getaway in Iceland, with the MP making his wife getting every feel and touch of love and romance in the cold European nation.

And before the dust completely settles, the couple is once again the centre of attention after Priscah chafuad social media with yet another outing in Dubai.

Here, Ababu is masquerading as an Arabian ninja, donning their attire and enjoying the serenity of the plush city in the Middle East.

Priscah is also feeling the warmth of her husband as Ababu squeezes her with every touch he gives us. She can’t afford to hide her joy at every moment they are spending.

Here are photos of their vacation in Dubai:

Kes 187 Million Is Driving Huddah Monroe Totally CRAZY! (Photos)

Huddah Monroe is now confessing VERY intimate stuff about her. Things that should otherwise be kept off public domain. And she is doing so because of Kes 187 million.

To Huddah, money is everything. And it’s driving her nuts! The self-styled socialites left folks with a million question marks in their heads with her gripping confession.

This is how it all started; Vera Sidika bought or was she gifted with a Kes 20 million high-end Range Rover. The bleached socialite made headlines with the fine piece of British engineering.

Noting all eyes were on Vera, Huddah unleashed her ultra expensive diamond ring worth 1.7 million Euros or Kes 187 million!

See also: Forget Vera Sidika And her 20 Million Car, Huddah Just Got Something Worth 187 Million.

Now that ring is what is causing this girl go gaga to the extent of spewing words that are best preserved for bedroom activities.

If you thought Huddah will be sexually aroused by a photo of Trey Songz in his birthday suit, better think again. No man or adult movie is sufficient enough to make the socialite want to have it like her own diamond ring.

Huddah says her expensive ring makes her wet and horny.

Kenyatta University Gets Thoroughly Embarrassed Only Hours After POTUS Left.

When I learnt that the American president had snubbed The university Of Nairobi for Kenyatta University (which was once a constituent college of (UON) I was excited, No, I was elated, finally someone had cut UON down to size.. for a good reason though.

But it is not all cheers all the way for the Thika Road institution. Not even the visit of the potus yesterday will redeem them from this atrocious grammar error.

This banner below was put up to welcome the American president to the institution yesterday.

Most of you won’t notice the mistake anyway, but not to worry: the bill board reads”It’s a priviledge to host you, Sir. The President and his aides must have been wincing in their shoes uncomfortably, for an institution of higher learning to write “Priviledge” instead of “privilege” is sacrilegious.

KDF General Slammed On Social Media Over Huge ‘Kitambi’

A Kitambi on a member of the armed forces is not strange; in fact it’s so common that you never notice that it’s out of place.

The Chief of the General Staff /KDF General Samson Mwathethe came under fire on social media after a photo of him flanking the president of Kenya and the U.S.A president surfaced on social media. The attention was taken away from the two presidents to his protruding kitambi .

GHAFLA! EXCLUSIVE: NTV Girl Weds In A Colourful Ceremony (Photos)

It is unfortunate that we were swept off our feet completely by the Obama visit that we did not see what was happening on the other side.

Blogs, mainstream media and social media were all occupied with Obama and his maiden visit to Kenya, his father’s homeland. There was no room to show how NTV girl was walked down the aisle in a colourful wedding ceremony that was attended by family and close friends only.

Mercy Juma, a reporter  with NTV, entered another very crucial phase of her life over the weekend, and the ceremony was as glamorous as anyone would expect.

The lucky man slid the ring down Mercy’s finger in the presence of her parents, friends and relatives as the two exchanged vows as it is a tradition.

Pomp and colour took centre-stage as those who were lucky to get the invite were treated with beautiful scenes from the ceremony that went down at Dinharm Gardens, Tigoni in Limuru.

John Okande is the lucky man.

Here are photos from the wedding ceremony as it happened:

After Senator Mike Sonko and Music Mogul Joe Kariuki, Meet This Young Man From Western Kenya Who is Redifining Philanthropy

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and to endure the betrayal of false friends. To appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” Those are the wise words of one Ralph Waldo Emerson and which I suspect Senator Mike Sonko, Music Mogul Joe Kariuki and now business man Henry Waswa draw inspiration from.

For the longest time we have been fascinated by the likes of Mike Sonko with his Sonko Rescue team and Joe Kariuki of Candy n Candy productions who have gone out of their way to help the underprivileged in society. They have fed the hungry, supported the old and even saved the poor from the pangs of prison all in aim to make an impact and make a change. This is noble alright but the two also hold certain positions in society so they are pretty much obliged to do the same.

There is however a certain fellow by the name Henry Waswa who is doing exactly the same in parts of Western Kenya; creating quite a positive impact and here is the interesting part; he’s not leveraging on anything. This attracted our attention and we sort to find out who exactly Henry Waswa was and why he had embarked on the sacrificial journey of helping out the less unfortunate making sure he leaves the world a better place than he left it.

IMG-20150727-WA0022.jpg

Well as we came to find out, being brought up in a poor background is one of the major reasons Henry Waswa has gone out of his way to ensure that other young people in his neighbourhood don’t go through the same predicament he went through when he was growing up- when the world seemed to have anything to offer apart from suffering.

Born in 1986, Henry Waswa came from a humble background somewhere in Western Kenya in a place called Sirisia where he spent most of his life hand to mouth. Actually after High School life seemed hopeless until the year 2008 where he set on a journey to Mombasa to see a close friend in the promise that something forthcoming would arise.

It is there that Henry Waswa with the help of the said friend managed to secure a friendly loan which enabled him to start a small boutique and later a fast food joint somewhere in Bamburi. He committed his all and it is from there that he started seeing light at the end of the tunnel. The fast food joint diversified into a fancy sports bar by the name Motengene in Mtwapa and as they say the rest is history.

IMG-20150727-WA0020.jpg

Henry Waswa through the help of God, who he attests as the biggest source of his success is the now the proud owner of 3 other clubs across the country with other vested interests in car hire business and also real estate where he had invested to a tune of a 100 million.

Yes, he is a successful young man and he has put it upon himself to invest the same in other younger people in aim to give back to society ensuring that majority of young people in his region realize their maximum potential and this he has done by for example paying school fees for numerous kids in Western Kenya and supporting various football clubs in Western region. He totally understands that growth in a young person comes in various ways.

And it’s this commitment and sacrifice which has attracted many and Henry Waswa is now being urged to vie for a political seat in the region so keep your eyes open for the next Obama or rather a younger version of him.

Shark Tank’s Investor and FUBU Millionaire Must Have Been Impressed By Kenyans As He Has Some Really Flattering Things to Say About Us

American motivational speaker and founder of FUBU who also plays an investor on hit Television series ‘Shark Tank’ was recently in the country for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit.

He was in the country alongside his fellow Sharks Barbara Corcoran, founder of Barbara Corcoran Venture Partners and Mark Cuban owner of Landmark Theatres, Magnolia Pictures, and NBA’s Dallas Mavericks.

Anyhow, his visit to the 254 must have impressed him as he wrote this:

Life sure is random! Yesterday I was in Kenya with our Nations leaders meeting the most Amazing people with the biggest hearts and even bigger dreams. Today I’m in Amsterdam eating the smallest pancakes I’ve ever seen!!

That day I decided to sell those couple of hats on a corner over 20yrs ago, I never imagined in my wildest dreams that it would take me this far. Nevertheless, I knew that I had to take my destiny in to my own hands.

The purpose of my trip to Africa was to educate and inspire the people of Kenya about Entrepreneurship. I met with so many Entrepreneurs like you and I that have also decided to take their destiny in to their own hands. I think they ended up inspiring me more than I inspired them! To insure that I don’t give you “Daymonds Africa trip overload” Ive decided to share the images and videos of my trip over the next couple of days and weeks to come. Please understand that my intent is not to preach or to brag. I tend to get turned off by those that show off as well.

My intent is to inform and inspire you with all the things I have learned from this experience. Hopefully you will get just as excited as I am to get back to work, try harder and also help others empower themselves. I wish everybody a safe and great upcoming work week!

See The Presents President Uhuru Gave Obama… And Where They Came From

If you were keen enough when POTUS was ascending the stairs into Air Force One to depart to Addis Ababa, a man followed him with a bag, the door got closed and off Obama left.

It is now emerging that the bag could be carrying presents President Uhuru Kenyatta gave the leader of the world superpower.

According to sources from State House, the head of state did not want his visitor to leave empty handed, and so Collins Okello, the man who made headlines when he drew the portrait of President Uhuru in a military regalia, was at hand to do Obama and his family some favour.

The man did not disappoint at all. He drew perfect portraits of President Barack Obama which he handed to Uhuru who then gave Obama.

Collins is a talented man. That we must admit. Here are the presents the President gave POTUS:

After Leaving Obama’s Bones Aching, Sauti Sol Jet Out To Rwanda… What They Did There Is Commendable Too

Sauti Sol got their name on the international scene when they got US President Barack Obama shaking a leg at State House on Saturday evening. The leader of the free world couldn’t resist the sweetness of the group’s Sura Yako hit that has earned them quite a number of global nominations.

Sauti Sol is currently the subject of discussion in many offices in Kenya thanks to their perfect relationship with State House.

And after getting dignitaries shake their bones on Saturday night, the group of four jetted out to Rwanda where they have once again attracted attention.

Sauti Sol has shared a photo of its members  visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial where they laid flowers on the graves of those killed in the genocide that threatened global peace 21 years ago.

The group said:

sauti sol

sautisol Visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial yesterday. Thank you to the whole team for welcoming us and taking us through the history of Genocide.

Rwanda is infamously remembered for the genocide that claimed more than 1 million lives when the two largest communities of Hutus and Tutsis turned against each other and massacred people in large numbers.

The country has since put that behind and is doing significantly well in terms of development and fostering peace in its borders.

While Critics Are Raising Their Voices At Ringtone, Numbers Tell A Different Story. Brilliant!

The celebrated gospel singer has dropped his latest single`Party Leo’ which is a G.E.A.R Music Empire Neutriq Town Records. Ringtone courted Uganda’s Exodus to drop the new jam.

Folks have been ‘catching’ hormones ever since the video popped up on YouTube questioning whether it was really is a gospel song and I truly don’t get why. Given, it’s not the usual slow gospel songs, but doesn’t mean it’s any less gospel because people are really dancing and are all hyper.

The song has already garnered over 37,800 views ever since it was uploaded on YouTube. That tells you it’s getting appreciated by the audience.

Just check out the video below for yourself and see why ‘Party Leo’ is a dope song:

GHAFLA EXPLORES: The Obama Dinner At State House Was a ‘Hotbed’ Of Poor Dancers, Inflated Egos And Snobby Ladies…Here’s What I Learned After Attending The Exquisite Gathering

I was lucky enough to be invited for the State Dinner on Saturday night, headlined by the most powerful human on earth, President Obama. Oh yeah. To all those who thought I’d never amount to nothing, look at me now bishes……whoop….whoop.

Of course one of my main agendas as a respectable Luhya man was to network with food and enjoy all the fine delicacies in the house. Especially the western inspired chicken-and-waffles dish with macerated cherries that’s famous for its sweet-and –savory flavor combination

Some people were fun to chat with but others were just waling bags with over packed egos. Thin slicing was the order of the night. To define this, thin slicing is when someone analyzes your status, intelligence and promiscuity within the first few minutes of talking to you. Then they decide whether to give you a portion of their time or not. Consequently, no one was immune to some the powerful snobby women in the room. Talk to the hand – that’s the message most of them conveyed

Apart from getting to interact with some of the most influential people, It was amazing to see the most decorated Luo throwing formality to the winds and joining guests in an impromptu dance. I could have made my way to him and taught him a few moves but I was elbowed by a secret service agent and ordered to either sit down or maintain my ground. Maybe I was too soft on him too. I should have used the ‘Unanijua wewe kweli” phrase on him.

What felt uneasy was watching Sauti Sol steal all the glory because I had criticized them in an article a few days earlier. I did that in good professional faith but it seems they took offense.

Earlier on, during the pre-dinner handshakes, one of the band members (I’ll pretend I don’t remember his name) even refused to greet me. He stopped, peered at my hand like I had final-stage leprosy, stared ahead for a couple of seconds, shook his head then marched on. It was the snub of the decade.

You can understand my ‘waru in the throat‘ feeling when I had to watch the US President getting serenaded in English and Swahili by the afro-pop band. I bet Obama left knowing this group was the hottest musical act in Africa. Well, they can be the hottest if only they stop collaborating with Kenrazy and Visita

Dear Sauti Sol, nothing is personal between me and you guys. I don’t harbor a visceral loathing for you. I just hate everything you’ve released after Sura Yako. That’s it

I thank God though for giving me the ability to not give a monkey’s cuss whether someone hates me or not,

obama3

All that time, I was networking. I was disappointed that my favorite Shark Mark Cuban was nowhere to be seen and everyone was scrambling for Daymond John, the FUBU founder.. Sycophantic media stars disgraced themselves by pestering him for photos as he circled menacingly around the venue

The highlight of the night had to be when, Mr. ‘Presi-dance’ Obama stood up, buttoned up his coat and joined in with the Lipala. Soon, the entire top table was up, including the Kenyan president and first lady Uhuru and Margaret Kenyatta, and the US national security adviser, Susan Rice. When it was done, the laughing president hugged his half-sister, Auma.

Our president needs to take dancing lessons. He was way off in co-ordination. Not him alone. Several other guests were moving like they had back pains. It was all too funny

The Nairobi youth orchestra did well too as they performed next, accompanying Kenyatta’s niece, Kavi Pratt, who was on vocals. When she offered a rendition of At Last, POTUS sang along, but without a microphone.

It was hilarious when Obama unleashed a biting comedic barbs against his critics and political adversaries, claiming some of them believe he came back to Kenya to look for his birth certificate, adding, “That is not the case.”

The US president would make a great stand-up comic, not because he’s the funniest president ever but because he uses jokes the same way many comedians do: as a weapon. Obama’s humor is often delivered the way a comedian dealing with a heckler would do it. He tries to undermine his opponents with it and get the crowd — in this case the public — on his side

After the event, I was waiting for cab to take me home when a familiar jocular bearded face sprang jauntily into view. It was that of a popular TV anchor. Again, I just couldn’t remember his name. Problem is, he knew me very well. Blame my slight amnesia on the way I had gobbled the vintage pink champagne at State House like it was chai.

We chatted for a few minutes, as he bemoaned the horror of what we Ghafla guys write, then a very excited young lady interrupted our conversation.

‘Excuse me! I would LOVE a photo!’

Now, when two ‘celebrities’ are standing together and someone comes up and does this, the unspoken thought process is: ‘Please God, don’t let it be for the other guy…’

We both stared at her intently. In my heart though, I felt it wasn’t me she was referring to. Logically speaking, he was a real celebrity while I was a semi-celebrity. There was no way…..

Then the magical words came forth from the woman’s lovely lips: ‘Etemesi, I’m your biggest fan!’

The anchor’s omnipresent smile froze into instant abject shock.

‘Of COURSE!’ I replied, trying to hide my jubilation.

‘Who can we get to take it?’ she asked.

Ask my friend here,’ I suggested while pointing to Mr. Anchor. ‘He’s a very good photographer.’

His eyes creased like a Gikomba T-shirt. The lady shoved her phone into his hands, utterly oblivious to his identity. ‘Thanks Sir’

‘Yes, thanks Sir!’ I winked, pouring several pounds of virtual salt into the gaping psychological wounds of the TV anchor. I could see the tiniest twitch of irritation develop around his nose. He took several pictures as my fan continued to coo about how ‘brilliant’ I am.

Then he muttered ‘You b*****d Etemesi!’ under his breath, before slopping off down the road with his shoulders hunched sorrowfully and what I thought to be a small tear flowing from his left eye.

What an amazing night. KARIBU TENA POTUS

Uhuru Kenyatta Angers Americans But Becomes A Hero Back Home. This Is What He Did To Obama

President Uhuru Kenyatta is the subject of discussion globally after hosting the most powerful man on earth despite statements made by white house prior to the 2013 general elections. Real Choices Have Consequences.

But what has cast the Kenyan President further into the limelight is not the hospitality he accorded Obama but rather what he told him before the face of the world when the two addressed journalists at State House.

As the two Presidents answered questions from journalists, a foreign journalist posed the question on homosexuality and what the two leaders thought about the same.

While Obama maintained that homosexuals should be allowed to do their things because it is their right to choose whom they want, President Uhuru told him on his face that there is no room for such practices in Kenya.

He told him that while Kenya and America share so many things in common, Homosexuality is a non-issue to Kenyans and so no one was willing to accept it.

obama and kenyatta

Homosexuals in Kenya face up to 14 years in jail if found guilty.

President Uhuru’s sentiments did not auger well with majority of the Western countries though.

Articles in some of the western media channels were clearly partisan on how they reported this matter. While that is the case in the west, the President has remained a hero in Kenya. The church has come out to praise President Uhuru for standing firm on matters homosexuality.

It can be remembered that the church, politicians and other groups had warned Obama against discussing homosexuality in Kenya.

South Africa is the only country in Africa that has allowed the practice of homosexuality.
