It seems even as much as we may try to avoid the mention of Fidel Odinga, his name will always pop up even when least expected or not expected at all.
The son to the official opposition leader Raila Odinga had friends from all corners of the country, some who are perennial foes.
According to the Pulse, Fidel Odinga was a great friend to two musicians who are great enemies in the country: jaguar and Prezzo.
The two who have been having perennial beef between them met at the late Fidel’s home when they went to console the bereaved Odinga family.
As expected, all eyes were on the two singers and it did not take long before everybody proved their fears. The two could not face each other neither could they shake even hands.
Pulse reports that they even opted to sit far away from each other, effectively signaling that their hatred was far from over.

Kisumu West legislator, Olago Aluoch, was allegedly rushed to hospital after he unconscious at his Kisumu home.

The latest accolade has come from a different source, Brhan Marcos, a friend to Lwam Bekele, Fidel Odinga’s wife.

This has angered Kenyans who feel it is a reckless move that aims at causing more grief to the bereaved Odinga family who are mourning the loss of their son.
Kenyans on social took it in their hands to blast the Star, with others urging their colleagues to shun the media completely because of the manner it is handling sensitive issues.

Senator Mike Sonko caused a fracas a few days ago after he arrived at Lee Funeral Home with heavily armed bodyguards who carried sophisticated weaponry and a gold-plated Toyota Land Cruiser.
A lot of questions were asked over the conduct of the security men who publicly displayed their guns as they gave protection to the flamboyant Nairobi Senator.
And now Police spokesperson, Ms. Zipporah Mboroki has said that the security men will face the full force of the law after what she termed was a misuse of firearms.
It is understood that the bodyguards have already been disarmed after the Lee Funeral Home incident and that other disciplinary actions are being taken against them.
The public had also complained that the bodyguards were using their weapons to harass them especially on the roads.
Before yesterday, Paul Kobia was only known in the media and political circles thanks to his rather dramatic tomfoolery in the past.
But yesterday everyone including their grandmothers knew who Kobia was. It was really hard to ignore his name because he was splashed all over blogs, social media and other media outlets.
The reason why he had achieved this instant infamy was because he had allegedly claimed that he murdered Fidel Odinga. An accusation that led to him being arrested, but the Gigiri Police boss purportedly blocked the booking of Kobia declaring him insane.He was taken to the Agha Khan Hospital.

Sidika became a person of interest ‘after her rather booty full appearance on P-Unit’s and Collo’s You Guy video .An appearance so bawdy that Citizen TV banned it citing that it was too raunchy for its young impressionable audience. It was only the other day that I realized socialite Vera Sidika has been severally crucified for almost all the wrong reasons. Boy, this chic, whether it is the make-up, the skin bleach or the boob enlargement, is still hoooooooot, like iron steel fresh from a fire furnace.
Caroline Mutoko is the last person you would ever expect to accept what to many looks fake. I mean the iron lady is so egocentric to accept anything at any time. Well, for once and probably the first time, I find myself being cooked in the same pot with Mutoko, ideologically. In her you tube channel, Mutoko gives a list of the people who underlined 2014 and who are likely to make 2015 a wonderful year.
Even though I doubt the rest of the individuals in her list, I agree, 100%, with what she thinks of Vera Sidika. According to Caro, Vera is a nice lady, nicer than what many of us think. Caro I beg to agree with you on this.

We never saw those photos of the backfired bleach but we were quick to laugh and get excited about the new developments on our sweet socialite.
However, one thing I gradually and admittedly like about the queen of all socialites in Kenya (as if there are so many of her kind) is her composure and desire to prove us wrong. Even as we rant and castigate her antics and exploits in the socialite industry, Vera Sidika has continuously silenced us with new things; new looks, refreshed beauty, wealthy in abundance and foreign expensive travels that have made many of us envy her.
She is also good at heart. How many people could be knocking court doors seeking legal action over what others say about them? How many have felt infuriated every time they see stories about them make headlines; whether they are true or baked somewhere in River Road (as if they do)?
Vera Sidika is beautiful my people! She is beautiful. The other day we ran into her photos as she gallivanted in the niceties of Mombasa courtesy of what her mama and money gave her. This chic, like Queen Esther consistently did to King Xerxes, would compel King Mswati of Swaziland to divorce all of his close-to-40 wives, become monogamous and spend the rest of his kingly life with the Kenyan socialite.
Vera has got figure, beauty and brains engrossed in her altered looks. After all what is the problem if you can alter your looks to please yourself and others? Is there any law that bars that? Has Vera not harvested big from her altered appearance.
What many people don’t know is that Vera can get what she wants at any time and price, thanks to her goodies. She was once rumoured to give a Nigerian tycoon a cardiac arrest with her complexion and figure. She reaped big from the chap who never minded splashing cash on her, and who made her conquer the world.
You will also agree with me that Vera Sidika was beautiful even before she underwent bleaching and all that shitty stuff. You remember when she appeared in that You Guy Video? Men, the chic was fantagorgeous! Yes, fantagorgeous is the shortest term that can summarise beauty.
So we are not justified to say that her beauty is plastic. In fact what she did was to enhance what she already had. And she managed to.
Only fools will keep castigating Vera even when she herself is comfy with herself.
2015 is the year Vera Sidika simply needs a break from our ranting. This chic, Vera, this chic Sidika, is a hot iron rod that anyone can die to have.
Isn’t it time we just got a life and gave Vera breathing space? Methinks we should.

Fidel Odinga’s requiem mass was yesterday at the All Saints Cathedral, a mass that was flocked by Kenyans from all walks of life.
Hers was a pained soul as she made her way slowly to the podium flanked by her bouncy young son, A son who will live to remind her of her late husband whose the cruel hand of death took away. As she took slow painful steps to the podium, the whole assemblage fell silent, watching the beautiful Eritrean widow, the pained look on her face told it all, dark circles on her eyes spoke of the pain of her irreplaceable loss, as we sat there in silence we connected with her.. She never made past a few sentences as she broke down,but with the consolation of her family she was able to give a heart-rending impassioned last words to the man she fell in love with, 6 years ago.
“My love where do I even begin? 6 years ago I met my six-foot prince charming. Your generous spirit and humility will go a long way…You melted my heart with your love and kindness. The swiftness of your departure remains shocking to me. But I cannot question God. Till we meet again my love, my husband… Hail thee and farewell…”

Fidel Odinga bowed down in unclear circumstances last Sunday after a night out with friends, and the mystery surrounding his sudden and untimely demise is yet to unraveled after pathologists who conducted an autopsy on his remains failed to establish the cause of the opposition leader’s son.
And as preparations for his sendoff which will take place on Saturday are underway, condolences and stories about Fidel are tickling in from all corners of the republic and beyond.
Stories have told about the 41-year old father of one, with everyone who knew Fidel giving an account of how and where they met the deceased.
Mbita MP, Millie Mabona Odhiambo is the latest high profile person to give an account of the last moments she shared with the late Fidel.
Mabona says that she met Fidel somewhere just before Christmas and was giving out presents to people. They had a brief chat and Fidel literally bid her farewell.
The words that Fidel told her are hitting her now and she is realizing it was just a farewell.

I last saw Fidel just before Xmas @ Ruby Cut, a place he loved. He had attracted a group of taxi drivers, waiters, shop attendants and passers by that he was giving Xmas gifts to. I joked and asked for my Xmas gift and he told me as a Mhesh I should “gonye” instead. Then he said if I don’t see you “Merry Xmas and Happy New Year”. What is said of Fidel is very true. Was very friendly, generous and humble. R.I.P
The son of one of the most phenomenal States-man to ever exist in Kenyan History will be interred tomorrow, Saturday 10th at their rural home in Bondo. The late Fidel passed on last weekend under unclear circumstances. The investigations have not yielded anything and are still on-going.
To show off their appreciation for the 40 plus years that they spent with the fallen prince, the family is giving him a send off worthy of the king he never lived long enough to become. The Family has prepared a 15 million plus budget to cater for the 10,000 mourners who are expected to attend the final send off. A large chunk of the budget goes towards buying food and drinks as well as offer transport services for the funeral.
Hail Thee And Farewell Fidel
The president took to his Facebook page to reiterate the massage he passed on when he eulogized Fidel Odinga at All Saints Cathedral yesterday.
President Uhuru Kenyatta urged Kenyans to take a leaf out of Fidel’s book; the head of state revealed the nation could learn a lot from Fidel’s life which can be used to heal the country.
Uhuru was eulogizing Fidel during a requiem mass that was held at All Saints Cathedral when he made his remark. Unlike the usual scenario where the president reads his speech from a script, Uhuru’s words came from within him; no one made the speech for him this time round.
The head of state emphasized two important lessons Kenyans could emulate from Fidel. Uhuru disclosed Fidel knew how to cross political, religious and ethnic divides as he could reach out to anyone he wanted to. Uhuru added the deceased held no grudges.
Perhaps most important lesson that Kenyans need most and could be learnt From Fidel’s life was his ability to forge links with Kenyans from different ethnic backgrounds. “He was a person who did not use tribe or religion as a guide in building links with other people” Uhuru praised Fidel.
Uhuru further reiterated his tribute to Fidel on his Facebook page; down is what he wrote:
Deputy President William Ruto and I today joined the Odinga Family and other mourners for the requiem service of the late Fidel Odinga at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi. We can learn a lot from Fidel’s life which we can use to heal our country. He bore no grudges. Get your facts right people! The Kenyan Police seems to say. This is after it was widely reported yesterday that Paul Kobia had been arrested at Village market over allegations that he had openly confessed that he knew who and what killed Fidel Odinga and was being held at Gigiri police station pending investigation.
The police urged the public not to take to heart anything that Kobia said as the business man was not of sound mind, it had been reported that business man Kobia had erstwhile been involved in a brawl with the late Fidel at a Kilimani restaurant where he was beaten up badly by Fidel’s body guards thereby sustaining serious injuries. The licensed gun holder was also involved in a gun drama last year where he openly admitted have gunned down a robber along Limuru Road.
The Kenyan police has however denied the allegations that they arrested the irate business man, they have issued a statement distancing themselves from the said arrest. At the time of the said arrest, early morning yesterday, Kobia was in the company of his long time friend, The Nairobi Senator:- Mike Sonko, it is said that Sonko’s Body guards disarmed the business man when he became violent.
Apparently the family of the business Man had sought help from the police to help them restrain Mr. Kobia who had assumed violence and was shouting incoherently. The family was assisted and the patient was taken to a psychiatrist for evaluation.
