Meet The Man Who Is Brave Enough To Give Citizen TV’s Mzazi Willy Tuva A Run For His Money (Photos)

They always say monopoly is bad for our capitalist society. Hiding to this say, one man has audaciously decided to make the music market more competitive.

There is no doubt Mzazi Tuva is still the king. Even in absolute monarchies, there must be those daring people who always start a rebellion.

In this context, the revolt is not that bad per se. As a matter of fact, it’s good for artists because they have more outlets to sell their music to their audiences.

The man in charge of giving Tuva a run for his money is none other than, Mwinyi Kazungu. In case you don’t know him, he is the presenter of one of the fastest growing music show; Top Mashariki on KBC.

Just like Mseto East Africa, Top Mashariki is also shedding light on established and sprouting musicians from all over the East African region.

Top Mashariki also has its own TV and radio shows plus it is also having numerous campus tours with the who-is-who on the entertainment arena. Real competition!

With Citizen TV still plunged on analogue blackout, the tide is for sure in favour of Mwinyi Kazungu and his Top Mashariki show. All those folks that can’t afford a set top box will for sure lend him their eyes on the Idhaa ya Taifa.

The more viewers he gets, the more the show becomes popular and MAYBE we may just witness a revolution. You never know, everything is possible on earth!

See photos of the ambitious presenter below:

Could This Be The Best Collabo Between Kenyan Artistes And A Nigerian? P-Unit ft Yemi Alade Is Here

When Frasha went solo to release his own track, many people thought P-Unit was breaking up. However, that would never happen as Frasha came out to deny that P-Unit was splitting.

To ascertain his sentiments, P-Unit have traveled all the way to Abuja and struck a deal with My Johnny singer Yemi Alade.

Their new jam, Different, which is likely to become an instant hit, is out finally (audio) and believe it this artistes have done more than anyone could expect.

It has been a while since Kenyans started craving a collabo between Nigerian and Kenyan artistes, and now it seems our thirst has been quenched.

Ugandans and Tanzania have been on the run doing collabos with Nigerians, leaving us to ask many questions over what exactly is not happening between Kenya and Nigeria.

Sauti Sol and Jaguar did remixes with Iyanya but that was not different.

P-Unit have made us proud and here is their latest jam ft Yemi Alade:

Mzazi Willy Tuva Attends Tanzanian Singer’s Burial In Dodoma. This Is How It Happened (Photos)

Tanzania once again lost one of her coveted artistes in Mez B who passed on after a short illness.

Among those in attendance were Kenya’s Mzazi Willy M Tuva who is famously recognised through his Mambo Mseto show on Radio Citizen and Mseto East Africa on Citizen TV.

Mzazi is one of the individuals who have nurtured talent across East Africa, and the late Mez B must have been one of the many artistes whose songs have found a lot of air play in Kenya.

Mez B is famously known for his track which Kama Vipi where he featured songbird Ray C back in 2007.

The late Mez B

During his burial in Dodoma yesterday, the singer was given a befitting send off, with many artistes gathering to bid him bye.

His mother described how the singer got saved two weeks before he met his death, and she strongly believes Mez B is in a better place.

Find Out Why Homeboyz Radio’s Patricia Kihoro Is The Best Actress In Kenya

Homeboyz radio presenter and actress Patricia Kihoro is one of the few actresses in the 254 to have been nominated for major awards thanks to her prowess in the acting industry.

Patricia has featured in different casts which have seen get different nominations, putting her on top of the rest.

Speaking exclusively to Ghafla Kenya, Patricia attributes her success to hard work and dedication, and reveals the number of nominations she has received.

This is a clear indication that the actress-cum-radio presenter is better than many of us thought at first and she is not stopping it any time soon.

Among the nominations she has received include the following:

Khaligraph Is Singing……Rabbit Is Singing… Are Kenyan Rappers Going Soft Or What? Well..This Is Why They Are Composing Ballards Instead Of Doing Hardcore Rap Songs

Every year, Ghostface Killah, puts out a list of the 10 softest rapper in the game. Killah is a member of the Wu Tang Clan, one of the most celebrated hip hop groups of all time. In America, soft rappers and hardcore rappers are adversarial. Soft rappers are always accused of killing ‘hip hop’. But they are still there, lots of them and there are plenty of reasons behind that.

What’s the definition of a soft rapper? According to XXL and Hip Hop Weekly, a soft rapper is one who does a song instead of a rap song. And what the hell is the difference between a song and a rap song? A song is melodical while a rap song is all bars. In a rap song, only the chorus can bear the exception of being melodical. What we quickly learn here is that one doesn’t have to sing in order for the music to be a song. Khaligraph’s latest track ’Songea’ is a song and so is Rabbit’s new track featuring Rich Mavoko dubbed ‘Njoo’.

Can we then safely conclude that Kenyan rappers are going soft? Well, yes. Apart from Kichinjio and Kafiri Rabbit’s latest works are all songs. Khaligraph too has taken a huge leap from the hardcore track ‘Embesha’ to the bongoish track ‘Songea’. I mean Khaligraph’s new track is so TZ that for a moment I thought Ali Kiba would pop up and shout ‘roho yanguuuuu mamaaaa.’ And you can still remember ‘Come Dada’ right? I bet you can, if you persevered through it. I never thought I’d hear Khali sing but he has Should we all be worried? Is he trying to pull a Diamond Platinuumz or something?

I’ve always been a fan of…..

…..both Khaligraph and Rabbit. Some time back, I even laid out solid reasons why Khali was a top dawg in hip hop arts while Octo was just a novice. I said it all in the article Why Khaligraph Is And Will Always Be A Better Rapper Than Octopizzo’ and as a result, the number nane rapper blocked me on Twitter. It’s alright though, I don’t wanna do ‘something for you’ Octo.

octo34444

What is wrong with rappers being ‘soft’? Should we discredit talented musicians simply because they’re ‘soft’.. Well, no. Khaligraph and Rabbit are doing songs because they want to completely sell out. Not everyone wants to listen to tough bars about the hood and the police. Underground rappers understand that concisely. .

A rapper like Drake gets music out constantly because he’s ‘soft’. He can ‘chipo’ a girl and rap about it. Why? What does being ‘soft’ do to his talent? What does it hinder? What would you prefer? The same regurgitated nonsense about lap dances, strippers and swag? Drake’s doing so well right now because even ‘xoxo’ girls can relate to his music. It’s the reason he has sold over 500,000 mixtapes in one week. Hardcore rappers can never manage such a feat

In fact, my biggest beef with Drake is when he strays away from being soft! I do not want to hear him talk about guns and shoot outs. I want him to do songs.’ That’s where he excels. Discrediting him because he isn’t murking thugs from ‘round the block is lame.?

Rabbit and Khaligraph are incorporating melody into their sounds because that’s what hot right now. Octopizzo is doing it too. Bongo artistes are making a kill with it and so are artistes such as Jaguar and Sauti Sol.

So there’s no fault in a rapper doing songs. The only crime is for a rapper to sing. Khaligraph should have featured a singer in his latest track ‘Songea’. There are parts where he sings and he doesn’t sound so good. He should have stuck to his solid-quick flow while a singer did the other work. However, the track is a great piece of work generally. It’s awesome to see artistes being bold and trying out new sounds without being sure of the outcomes. Rabbit too should stick with the toughness of ‘Kichinjio’ bust still do as many songs as he wants to.

Compose ballads and even do rock songs or Afro beats if you want but stick to rapping no matter what. Because that’s what you are – a rapper. Just don’t sing. Unless you are Kanye West

Lupita Nyong’o Bears A Striking Resemblance To A Younger Version Of Her Mum (Photo)

As a person who is an outright carbon copy of her mum, I can bear witness to just how strong some genes are.

And Dorothy Nyong’o has some pretty strong genes, as demonstrated in a photo Miss Lupita shared of a younger Dorothy and Lupita side by side. From the arresting eyes  to the perfect nose to the pearly whites, there is no doubt that Lupita belongs to Dorothy, the genes did not even skip a beat.

The Real Reason Why Nonini Started Playing Profesional Basketball. And Is Not To Cut Weight

Mgenge True has been hitting basketball court for a while now. Not as a mere spectator nor for fun, he has a good reason why he is pulling a Shaquille O’neal.

Nonini isn’t not only good at spitting vibes, the rapper is also brilliant at dribbling the ball and making a basket.

He even surprised me when I learnt he was a professional basketball player. The first time the godfather of Genge was seen on the court, many thought he was only doing it for fun. (Including me, thought it was a sport for folks who were very agile).

noni.jpg

As a matter of fact, it Nonini is following in the footsteps of retired NBA player, Shaquille O’Neal. The two are heavily built body-wise (except Shaq is tall) and they both use basketball to impact positively on the lives of others.

Yes, apart from being very vocal in the fight against Albino killings, The ‘Kataa Hio’ hit maker is playing basketball for a good cause.

Nonini is using the sport to raise funds to help the less fortunate in society. He revealed he was raising money for Bondeni Childrens Home as basketball tournament resumes this coming weekend.

nonin.jpg

Make a date with Entertainment with Fun 4 Charity this weekend as we resume our Basketball Tournaments for 2015!!! This time round we are raising funds for Bondeni Childrens Home……massive shout out to our sponsors MCSK,StarTimes,EtremeSports,Karen Cottages, Shamillucia,Pulse and TheStar

That so good of Mgenge True, wish more artists could come forward chip in whatever little they have to assist the disadvantaged.

Kenyans Have Zero Chills! The Way They Mercilessly Stripped KTN After Announcing It Has Migrated To The Web Will Make You Laugh All Day Long

It appears KTN rubbed Kenyans on Facebook (KOF) the wrong way with their web migration placement. The way KOF mauled KTN is enough to make your day bright, why lie.

Who said KOF was empathetic with KTN and other disgruntled TV channels that are still crying out loud to have their analogue signals restored?

KOF once again exercised their brutality on social media only this time round the victim wasn’t Robert Alai or any of his kind. It was one of the country’s most loved TV channel, KTN. (Seems it is no longer loved.)

It seem even KTN’s loyal viewers switched allegiance since they were conspicuously missing in action to defend the channel when unsympathetic mob was lynching it on social media after posting a piece of ‘controversial’ advertisement.

KTN was on the receiving end after it posted an advertisement online announcing it has migrated to the web.

ktn.jpg

Is migrating to the web still considered a digital migration? Well KOT didn’t bother, it went on to roast KTN anyway. Below are some of the comments posted after KTN’s ‘special’ announcement:

King Soi: Eti Web, I thought you said Kenyans were poor n couldn’t afford set top boxes, Hawa wa kuwatch TV over the Web ndo wakenya wagani?

Bornface Munyui Sanchez: continue migrating….ata mkiweza mnaweza migrate hadi mars

George Nderitu: Good KTN sasa mmefika mashinana sawasawa.Huko maweb iko kila mahali kwanza kwa choo mko very clear

Andrew Diego Costa Striker: Mtatimuliwa hata kwa web, where else shall u go? mtakunja kunisomea news kwa nyumba

Wycliffe Chogo: since you migrated kenya has been peaceful ..peaceful from duale insult on our mothers

Geoffrey Ndungu: Mbona msiige mfano mzuri wa #wildbeestes wanaohama kila mwaka na hawatusumbui kamwe

Colloh Collins: i have also migrated to k24

Tony Flynnrider: Ujanja ni kuswitch on your digital platform web achia spiders

Innocent Muendo: Bundles zangu ni za Fb na watsap ….siezi ona news online……Kama ni news ntawatch Kenyatta 24…..

Rooney Yule Mkenya: Mtatoshea Hapo Wote Kweli?

James Maina: Hehe…..so sarcastic,if kenyans cant afford set top boxes how then do u expect them to access TV via the web nkt….

Jared Oresi: So, do we give you cookies for migrating to the web?

Joseph Macharia: is this free to air or are you giving free bundles stop playing with peoples mind

Njuguna Jack Juliah: na redio zenu zasema watu wanunue GOtv

Benard Mulungye Museo: Sasa spiders zita do? He baba unijaze roho niweze kuwashida hawa ,ktn wakiamia kwa web spider zita kaa wapii?…he baba

Amboni Secondary Mweiga: i fail to understand why you are fooling kenyans…from the time in memorial,it was announced that deadline would be this june….WHAT WERE YOU WAITING ALL THIS WHILE??? KENYANS ARE NO MORE FOOLS!!!!!…WE ARE BUSY WATCHING CARTOON AND NO CHANGE NOTED TANGU MUHAME..NKT!!!

Joseph Jay Koech: Si mtuite wakenya wote Uhuru park mtusomee news huko?

Kamau Nexxa Joyce: i thought kenyans were said to be poor so how will they afford to watch you online

Amb Jack Wachira: Nairobi aviation college Bado inaendelea hata baada ya mwenzenu kuwachokoza. I hope your time off air has been used for soul searching. There’s a way you’ve been doing business that doesn’t augur well with us the public.

Felique Dir Kizlow: U thot kenyan were poor couldnt afford to buy those set top boxes,je yule mkenya ana mulika mwizi ataona kwl kwa web kama mme migrate hko?

Joe Ageyo, Standard Group Editor, Reveals Why The Government Is Adamant About Digital Migration

Digital Migration has been the topic of discussion for a long time now, with four TV stations shutting down after their squabbles with the government went overboard.

While the government has been adamant that digital migration is a must, the three major media houses in the country have been requesting for more time to prepare themselves for the migration amid wrangles that a foreign company was awarded more frequencies at the expense of the local investors.

Standard Media, Nation Media and Royal Media have come under immense criticism from the government and a section of Kenyans for shutting down their TV stations from digital platforms, with threats for disciplinary action rife from the government.

And now Standard Media editor Joe Ageyo has bashed the government for lying to Kenyans about digital migration, making the four stations look like they are after money and not development.

In an article in the Standard, Ageyo says that he is not against digital migration but there are issues that should be looked into before the whole thing is realized.

media

First he says that the government’s motive is to control everything that the media does. He explains that giving KBC through Signet and PANG more frequencies at the expense of other local players is an indication that the government wants to control media through the two.

Ageyo highlights that PANG and Signet will be in control of frequencies and this means that they will be able to switch off any station that will try to criticize the government.

He gives an example of the numberless calls editors receive when carrying out investigative stories like those done by Mohammed Ali, demanding that such stories not be aired or published. Ageyo therefore believes the government will be able to switch off such stations when they want to criticize it through such stories.

He also says that those thinking that the three media houses fear competition are wrong. He assures that no media house is against digital migration and that the government is frustration freedom of the media through digital migration.

The four TV stations are still shut down.

After Being Taken To Court Over Ksh 229, 505 Bill at Intercontinental Hotel, Disgruntled Musician Now Wants to Talk To Jeff Koinange, Churchill or Maina Kageni

Laura Oyier Ogolla came from being a struggling musician  to becoming an overnight celebrity after she was charged in court by The Intercontinental Hotel for incurring a bill of Sh229, 505, which she was unable to pay.

This was after she allegedly spent 21 days including Valentine’s Day at the fancy hotel. She became so infamous that Kenyans began paying attention to the unimportant details such as her sad looking pencil thin eyebrows that were still stuck in the 20’s.

eyebrows.jpg

Photo:Droid 254

It is alleged that Laura spent her days at the hotel waiting for a man, a Nigerian. Many have been curious about the said man who embarrassed her publicly by failing to show up and failing to foot the bill. And Laura has promised to reveal his identity, but there is a catch. She wants money first then she can reveal her suitor’s identity, and not on just any platform on the biggest platforms in Kenya that is Jeff Koinange Live, The Churchill Show or on Maina Kageni’s Show. This is according to People daily

Her reason for what some may consider diva demand is that “Why be tarnished and still stay broke?” And she has a point.

After Nairobi Half Life, Another Kenyan Blockbuster To Hit The Screen Soon

Nairobi Half Life was the talk of the nation when it was released. Kenyans for the first time were proud of a local film. Following in the footstep of Nairobi Half Life, Mike Muikia or better known as Mike Ji, pieced together the first Kenyan musician series.

The ground-breaking ceremony for the official screening of ‘Nayomi’ will be happening this coming Saturday at Six Eighty Hotel from 3:30 pm.

Nayomi is a motion picture adaptation of untrue stories but captured with extreme realisms. Approved and rated PG by the Kenya Film Classification Board, the film focuses of various characters stories and how they intertwine to shape a little girl’s life that grows into a compassionate, resilient woman.

The producer, Mike Ji (a former JKUAT student) used some great visual trickery to make the series appealing to viewers.

Season 1 of musical NAYOMI introduces each character in their niches and how human relationships influence each one of them. Season 2 will focus on NAYOMI as a resilient woman, having brought up by a violent father, Bari, and a purely opposite character mother, Pretah.

The new series stars Naomi Waweru, Sarah Muoti, Michael Mukumbu, Emily Wanjiru and Julius Mwanzia gives this wonderful musical a fine and magnificent realism of the stories told.

This Saturday the 28th will be a day like no other as Mike Ji reveals Kenya’s first Musical series backed up by Pitson, Mwenyehaki, Njoro the Comedian and many other artistes in the entertainment industry.

Mali’s Finest Actor Robert Agengo Talks Acting Career, Growing Up & Being A Boxer

Robert Agengo is among the few actors in Kenya who have featured in different casts playing quite hilarious and entertaining characters.

He has acted for Kona, Makutano Junction, Mali just to name a few.

However, many people do not know who Robert Agengo exactly is. Despite appearing on our screen sometimes as a thief and sometimes as a cool guy who takes instructions carefully and religiously, Robert as a person is made of different things.

In an exclusive interview with Ghafla Kenya, the actor has revealed that he is also an amateur boxer. Amateur boxing is where one boxes to entertain and according to Agengo, it is different from professional boxing where one earns from boxing as a profession.

The Mali actor says that he has practised boxing ever since he was young and that he loves it as much as he does for acting.

So how many contests have you won?

“I have been up the ring three times. I won twice and lost once,” Robert says with a broad smile on his face.

How about the characters you play on screen? Do people take you the way you appear on screen?

“Mmmmh, not really. No one has ever taken me to be a thief. They are just characters and that is all.”

What does the boxer say about being given such roles in most casts?

Who Between Larry Madowo and Jeff Koinange is The Ultimate TV Star? The People Have Spoken

Jeff Koinange has proven that any man can be beat, just like you know, the way superman finally finds a way to beat Kryptonite..If you have been following the battle that we can only equate to the Greece-Troy, you might have realized that Jeff Koinange thrashed Larry Madomo and left him in a puddle of filth, blood and urine,-figuratively.

If you go to way back in the day when we still had TV’s working, The two journalists challenged each other to a twitter battle to see who got to 500k followers on twitter first. The loser consequentially would have to donate  a pre-agreed sum of 20k to a charity of choice. The long winded battle took quite a turn on twitter with the clamor to see who would win and who would lose.

Follow

I’m asking my followers to remain calm @KoinangeJeff, the race is not over until the fat lady sings! But name the charity, just in case

It was fun to watch, and eventually it became evident that, Larry Madowo, the self-proclaimed nomad was fighting a losing battle, (refer to the previous statement about filth, urine and blood)

lar1

Larry even asked for help from an unlikely source, Dennis Itumbi.

jeff1

While Larry was 42k shy of the 500k mark, Jeff Koinange was only a 1000 followers away! The race had been won, unless Larry introduced bots, fake followers,- or bought followers like someone we know.

The difference..

We shall have to wait for the charity that Larry will donate money to.

Speaking exclusively to Ghafla Kenya, the talented singer and radio presenter says that she intends to have more children in the near future because she feels she is not done yet.

“I will probably have more children because being a mother is such a wonderful feeling”, Amina quips.

How many children does the lass intend to have?

“Probably one or two more, I wouldn’t exceed that. I don’t want to have very many children.”

she goes on to reveal her future plans. See what she said in this interview:

Chameleone Reveals How He Handles Ladies Despite Him Being Married

Jose Chameleone is one of the most celebrated and coveted artistes in East Africa. His fame coupled with his wealth is just insurmountable. But all these come with responsibility.

Ladies are attractive, Chameleone admits. But how does the singer handle them despite the fact that he is married and he is a father?

Speaking exclusively to Ghafla Kenya, the singer says that indeed he finds it challenging dealing with his female fans.

He says that marriage comes with responsibilities and this is where he finds a challenge. However, the singer says that he has learnt not to be selfish with his family.

He knows his family needs him dearly and he must remain loyal to them and therefore all he does is appreciate his female fans but keep his dignity as a husband and a father.

He added:

Big Reprieve For Mohammed Ali And Boniface Mwangi! Court Nullifies Sections Of Controversial Security Law. But Not Before Issuing Dire Warning

Last evening, the government was dealt a heavy blow on the chins when the constitutional court revoked eight section of the ‘draconian’ security law.

A five-judge panel namely; Justices Isaac Lenaola, Mumbi Ngugi, Hedwig Ong’udi, Hillary Chemitei and Louis Onguto annulled eight sections of the contentious security law.

The sections quashed include those that were seeking to limit freedom of expression and media freedom. Those touching on the right of an accused to be released on bail and the provision limiting refugees coming in to the country to 150,000 were also abolished.

The eight sections of the security law that were nullified include; sections 12, 16, 20, 26, 34, 48 and 95.

Justice Isaac Lenaola led his colleagues in issuing stern warning to the media. He reiterated reckless reporting and publication of pictures of dead victims of terror attacks like the one that occurred last December could incur legal penalties.

lenaa.jpg

                         Justice Isaac Lenaola

It is a big reprieve for Mohammed Ali (and the media in general) and Boniface Mwangi (human rights groups) who were the leading voices that were utterly discontented with the disputable security law that approved by parliament in an acrimonious session that saw some law makers exchanging blows on the floor of the house.

Alai Mauls Standard Media For Seeking His Opinion About PSCU Being A Government Propaganda Tool

The media and specifically the three major media houses in the country – Standard Media, Nation Media and Royal Media Services – have been on the loggerheads with the government recently following the digital migration debacle that saw some TV stations completely switched off.

While the government maintains that it is time we migrated to digital broadcasting, the three media houses are not ready to embrace this change, citing reasons that they need more time to import their own decorders.

Well, this perhaps explains why they have launched scathing attacks on the government, with the latest being seeking an opinion from blogger Robert Alai over the Presidential Strategic Communications Unit (PSCU).

Alai says that he received a phone call from the Standard Media asking if he thinks PSCU is a government propaganda tool.

Alai, as expected, took to his social media account to blast Standard Media, saying it is after the media house got held on its balls that they are realizing that PSCU is a government propaganda tool.

Alai says that him and blogger Dikembe Disembe have always said this but media houses saw them as haters. It is at this time that they are realizing they were right and now they are seeking their opinion over the same.

Alai posted:

Alai

“Funny that Standard Media just decided to call me today seeking an opinion to cement their already formed opinion that “State House’s PSCU is operating like a Hitler Propaganda machine.”

We (bloggers like me and Seth Odongo) have always stated that the PSCU is not professional on many aspects. But I think that now that the govt has held STD, NMG and RMS by the balls, they have suddenly woken up to the fact that PSCU is a propaganda machine.

Don’t try to objective only when you are held by the balls. Be objective ALWAYS.”

Sassy KTN Socialite, Shaniqua, Is Not DARING After All! Last Friday Night Ghafla! Unmasked Her. You Will Be Surprised To Know Her True Character (Photos)

In the eyes of many people, Shaniqua is this bold socialite who always intimidates whoever she meets by bombarding them with a lot of hogwash but after having a sit down with her last weekend, we were utterly shocked.

Last Friday night, my colleague and I happened to bumped into Shaniqua in Karen during the launch of Candy n Candy group of companies.

We were informed of Shaniqua’s presence by Freddy, a close associate of the socialite. From the world go, we desperately wanted to meet the socialite but I suddenly developed cold feet.

I mean this is Shaniqua we are talking about, the same socialite who ‘muuurdered’ Larry Madowo on The Trend. Didn’t want her to flirt with me, not in the presence of ladies.

Dragging me to one of the rooms, Freddy introduced me to Shaniqua who was sand-witched among five or so pretty ladies.

To my surprise, I met Kevin Muthaka and not Shaniqua. I expected to see Shaniqua the socialite, the one with a bird’s nest on the head, that old cheap weave that she always wears. But nope! There was Kevin not Shaniqua. Same person just different characters.

He was equally excited to meet the two of us. We requested to have a chat with him and he humbly agreed with his small voice.

Even the other folks in the room had a  difficult time identifying him. His brownish teeth however sold him out, they were real. The ever smiling Kevin has all over sudden turned to a celebrity again!

The moment guys realized he was Shaniqua, everyone scrabbled to take a picture with him. Believe it or not, Kevin is a very cool guy. He never uttered a single word the entire time. He was just smiling for the camera as while revelers scrambled to take a picture with him.

So wearing ladies’ clothes makes him go ‘haywire’! Shaniqua or rather Kevin Muthaka is the most down-to-earth person one can ever meet.

Ooh and the photos I’m just from talking about:

This is The Gown That Lupita Wore Yesterday, Even Forbes Is Talking About It!

We shall hereby skip all the details about the Oscars and focus on what our girl Lupita wore to the red carpet. She has never let us down when it comes to the red carpet, she  is that superstar you expect to look extra  elegant in a Giorgio Armani haute couture gown while rocking accessories from some talented high end designer.

She has claimed her spot on Hollywood as one of the best dressed females of our  generation. She continues to  gracefully rock the covers of the top fashion magazines as the celebrated  epitome of African beauty. Forbes magazine would record earlier this morning “….

Last year might have been Lupita Nyong’o’s year, but she continued her sartorial dominance as the best dressed on the 87th Annual Academy Awards red carpet in custom Calvin Klein Collection…”

The beautiful custom gown created by Francisco Costa featured cascading strands of 6,000 pearls and was paired with Chopard jewels.

That, ladies and gentlemen is our Kenyan girl, Lupita, in a startling dress made

If that is not stunning, then I don’t know what is.

That’s the dress, full length.

Ghafla Exclusive: Milele FM Set To Poach Top Radio Jambo Show Host

Media poaching has been a rampant practice in the media industry in Kenya lately, with media houses luring journalists from one station to another with hefty perks, leaving other stations to search for fresh talent from elsewhere.

Early 2013 saw K24 TV making the greatest poaching ever experienced in the fourth estate fraternity in Kenya when they raided Royal Media Services and snatched them their best journalists, among them Torome Tirike, Geoffrey Wachira, Frankline Macharia and many others.

K24 is under Media Max, a media house that also owns Milele FM, who are on the spotlight this time round for raiding Radio Jambo of their mid-morning show host Sir Bramwel Mwololo.

Ghafla can exclusively reveal that Mwololo is on his way out of Radio Jambo to take over the morning show at Milele FM hosted by Maggy Waithera and Mogaka the Choir Master.

mwololo

                          Sir Bramwell Mwololo

However, the deal has not been brokered as Mwololo wants to join Milele with some conditions, among them hosting the show with comedian Njoro of Churchill show.

Milele wants Mwololo to team up with Dr. Ofweneke and Nzula Makosi in the morning show as Mogaka and Maggy Waithera are demoted to the mid-morning show.

Meanwhile the station has killed the ‘Patipati’ reggae Caribbean show which has high ratings. The Sartuday night Rhumba show has also been kicked out.

Ghafla Kenya made efforts to reach out to Sir Bram for comment but our calls went unanswered.

Media Max has also poached all morning show hosts of Muuga FM for its new Meru Radio station.

Milele FM has been on the decline since the departure of Vincent Ateya from the station, a guy who commanded a high following in the morning show he hosted with Mogaka.

Is this a move aimed at reviving the station? Only time will tell.

Two Arrested In Connection With The Rape And Murder Of Moi University Student

Two suspects have been arrested following the murder of a third year Moi University student yesterday morning.

According to a press release released by Professor Richard Mibey, the Vice Chancellor of Moi University, police have nabbed two suspects who are being held in Eldoret Police Station for further interrogation.

Charity Maina, a third year education student in the School of Arts and Social Sciences was found raped and murdered near privates rented hostels in the expansive Kesses-based institution of higher learning.

Her rape and murder sparked massive outrage from students who went on rampage, burning a police land cruiser that had arrived to ferry the remains of the student to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital Morgue in Eldoret.

The students barricaded roads in the university and engaged the police in running battles, demanding the administration to explain why it has failed to offer enough security to the students.

A source from the institution reveals that tension still remains high as students demand to be released from the institution as learning cannot continue while justice has not been served to their colleague.

Meet the Beautiful Lass Who is Surpassing Big Names in Dubai

After Serah Sarah’s song hit the airwaves with a bang last year,it was about time the official video was released. It was released on the 7th of of January, 2015 with a very interesting cocept. The concept is about African music being played, heard and danced to and appreciated globally.

The story begins with two friends, a Kenyan girl and a Russian girl in KIZA (Dubai’s 1st Afro fusion restaurant) but in the end finds herself dancing to her song  in a different Locations with different people.

What I liked about the video is the aim of breaking off the everyday use of flashy women, exotic cars (borrowed), money and alcohol and for once engage the viewer in curiosity and interest to know where the video will take you next.

In the video, you get to see the one and only Multiple Award winning Nigerian Artist Ice Prince

“Shooting it was an experience and an adventure and what is best than to engage a movie Director to spearhead the project. The Talented Greek Director “Billy” is very spontaneous, energetic and loves to capture real moments. “Story, Story, Story” is his philosophy” says Serah

 The video locations are Continental

Artiste With Albinism Shakes The Music Industry In Kenya With Cry Song Over Lack Of Airplay In Kenyan Media

The Kenyan media industry has been accused over years for neglecting local artistes and giving their foreign counterparts more airplay.

The backlash from the artistes has been taken to an even higher level after Maxx Brax, an upcoming artiste with albinism, teamed up with three others to bash the media for the blackout.

Maxx in his song Never Too Late wonders why the Kenyan media and environment in general is not giving them space to showcase their talent.

One thing that stands out for sure is that the song just deserves more than what the artistes are asking for.

It is a nice jam with well balanced vocals, a mix of R&B and rap, with Mugambi and Jay O making the rap a fun.

Flora then comes in with the R&B lyrics, making the song something that one would love to listen to again and again.

Maxx says that they are not happy with the title upcoming artistes because any artiste is capable of doing something great if they are given a chance to.

After listening to it, you will definitely nod in appreciation of what the quartet has done:
