Citizen TV’s news anchor Lilian Muli cannot get enough of her little man, Joshua Munene who is growing up really fast.
This past weekend she took sometime to spend with her son then later on shared an adorable photo flaunting him to her social media fans. Through her Instagram page, Lilian Muli uploaded the photo captioning it to say,
It is no secret that she adores her baby boy and even though she split with her baby daddy the new anchor has made sure that her son gets all he desires.
However, Lilian Muli enjoys to keep her private life on the low and she only shares her sons photos when she feels like it.
Anyway, the latest photo shows that her son has grown into a fine young man who seems to take after his dad in terms of looks and complexion.

He’ll be working alongside Beatrice Achieng, HSC, popularly known as Iddi, who has been elected the new board chairperson at Performers Rights Society of Kenya (PRISK. This is after Robert Kamanzi -Rkay, who was the chair, left for the US to pursue personal engagements.
Achieng’, a renowned and internationally experienced musician, actress and development consultant at The Iddi Achieng Trust takes over to steer the organisation, together with the other able directors at PRISK, to achieve their mandate of collecting and distributing royalties on behalf of performers (musicians and actors). She is also a founder, director and has been the vice chair at the organization.
“Daddy Owen brings in extensive experience in the industry. He is joining a working team whose vision is to be one of the most efficient and effective CMO to its members,” Achieng Said. “Our focus at PRISK is to increase the royalties we pay performers. This will be achieved through the parameters we have set to significantly boost our collections countrywide. We have done it before, so I am confident that we will even surpass our targets this year,” she added.
Owen has been in the music industry for over 15 years and is well known for several hit songs such as Vanity, Mbona which was co-authored with Denno “Foundation”, Tobina, Kazi ya Msalaba, Saluti and System ya Kapungala.
“PRISK has done well in protecting the rights of the musicians and in distribution of their royalties,” Owen said. “Collective Management Organizations provide the much needed platform for artists to be organized so as to articulate their issues and have their voices heard in order to overcome the challenges we are facing in the music industry,” Owen added while cautioning the artists that, “how you handle your product will determine the way your clients will receive it and treat it.”
Owen has received several accolades including Kisima Artist of the Year in 2012, Groove Awards Male Artist of the Year from 2009 -2011 and Best Anglophone award in 2010 during the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA). Besides music, he is the founding member of Malaika Awards, a charitable organization for the disabled.
Speaking while congratulating Owen is Angela Ndambuki, PRISK’s Chief Executive Officer, “We welcome Mwatia to PRISK and thank Kamanzi for his time, input and dedication as we look forward to the new leadership.” She added, “This is also a defining moment for the industry as we look toward a more specific regulatory framework. PRISK was registered in 2009 and began its scientific distribution of royalties to its members in 2014. It has registered an increasing membership of over 2400. Other directors at PRISK include: Irene Kariuki, Hubert Nakitare (Nonini), Ian Mbugua, David Mathenge (Nameless) and Samuel Kuria (SK Blue).

The study by PR firm Burson-Marsteller identified Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the most followed world leader on Facebook with 40 million followers followed by Donald Trump with 20 million followers.
Modi also had the most interactions (likes, comments, and shares) of any world leader on Facebook in 2016 with 169 million interactions.
His activity far outpaces the second-placed world leader, Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, who had 58 million interactions.

Former Crossover 101 host Faith Muturi gave birth to her first-born child sometimes last year. Faith resigned from her job a few months before she delivered.
The former NTV presenter named her son Lemuel Imani – the name is not familiar in Kenya and many speculated that the name could have been derived from ‘Emmanuel’.

Apparently ‘Lemuel’ is a Hebrew name, Faith revealed she gave her son the Hebrew name because it means devoted or dedicated to God.
“I’m soooooo grateful. Yesterday was a very special day for us💖. Why so?,.. Well, many of you have asked what the name Lemuel means. It’s is a Hebrew name which means “Devoted/ Dedicated to God”.” Faith Ngugi disclosed.

Miracles happen! Only a few months ago Gladys Kamande was unable to walk on her own, she survived on an oxygen tank and she was blind for 5 long years.
Kenyans were touched by Glady Kamande’s story when an appeal was made to help her raise money for her treatment. A whopping Kes 8 million was raised by Kenyans through the M-Changa account by 21st December 2016.
Gladys travelled to India where she was subjected to a battery of medical tests before doctors started treating her.
On March 18th, a certain Elizabeth Kavata shared photos of Gladys at the hospital in India, she also revealed that Gladys’ sight had been restored and that she could also breath on her own partially.
“Since she travelled to India GLADYS KAMANDE has had every part of her body examined and re-examined to get the best of her health.”
“Ladies and gentlemen it gives me pleasure to report on the latest since her admission at BLK SUPER SPECIALITY HOSPITAL. And you got to love this.”
“As soon as she got to hospital, she was booked into ICU as the doctors mapped out a treatment plan. And indeed it worked perfect.”
“From the lead doctor’s report, a few clots were blocking the optic nerve. That has been her cause of blindness for more than 5 years. The doctors delicately ensured the clots were cleared and eventually Gladys regained her eyesight!” Elizabeth Kavata wrote in part.
Kavata further revealed that Gladys’ lungs were not strong enough for her to breath on her own for the moment, she oxygen will be pumped in her lungs through her mouth until such a time that her lungs are strong enough.
“We thank God for this answered prayer.”
“What followed were various tests on her lungs. Indeed the doctors confirmed the lungs have suffered serious damage for a long duration. They tried several options including pumping oxygen directly to the lungs without necessarily taking it through the mouth.”
“There is some slight improvement in the fact that Gladys can survive by breathing freely without the machines for some minutes. She however would require consistency in pumping in the oxygen until such a time her lungs will be stronger enough.”
“Gladys has been discharged from hospital and cleared to travel back home today. She’ll be arriving in the country tomorrow.”
“She has an appointment with her doctors in July this year at BLK Hospital. The report of the doctor’s assessment will guide on whether there’ll be need for surgery or she would continue on aided breathing.”
This past weekend singer Akothee had the time of her life with her family as they celebrated her second born daughter’s, Rue aka Celine Dion, 19th birthday.

It seems a full blown relationship is blossoming between Elgeyo Markwet Senator and Samburu County Senator Naisula Lesuuda.
The Nairobian has unearthed a series of emails and whatsapp messages between the two exposing deep mental and emotional connections.
It starts off with an email Murkomen sent the former TV queen professing his love for her;
“I fell in love with you, I don’t know how, I don’t know where but I did.” He says
Before continuing the same conversation on whatsapp some other time:
“And you just love someone for who and what they are and not just for laying. I love you just like that. Even of (sic) nothing happens I won’t complain as long as I have you,” He tells her while confessing how she drives him crazy whenever she giggles.

There has been many rumors about Avril Nyambura’s relationships in the past few months.

Though many still believe that the two were romantically involved after being spotted hanging out a number of times, Avril now says that she has known the footballer for more than 6 years and Oliech was in her life before she met her ex fiance, Leslie Mugadza.
Speaking to SDE Avril said,
“I am not dating Dennis. He is one of my best friends from way back. We’ve been friends for over six years now. I knew him before I met my ex and we are always hanging out together,”
She went on to add that she has heard and seen blogs write that she was pregnant (this is after she posted a photo flaunting her baby bump) but these were all lies. Avril says the photo was taken from a movie set she was feared on and for her role she had to potray a pregnant woman.
“I have also heard the rumours about the pregnancy but they are baseless. Do I look pregnant…Do I? There is fascination Kenyans have of me being pregnant. I don’t understand why. The rumours were fueled by a photo I posted on my social media pages towards the end of last year, where I was looking heavily pregnant. Fortunately or unfortunately, I am not pregnant. It was a prank. Actually, the photo was taken from a movie set I’ve been featured on and in the roles I was playing I had to portray a pregnant lady.”
Anyway, there you have it! Avril is not seeing anyone at the moment and is focused on her career and investments before she thinks of settling down.

The high rate of high unemployment in Kenya which is approximately 40% has always been a topic of discussion but yesterday, 16th March 2017 it manifested itself in its full glare.
Apparently k24 was looking to fill up an anchor position-mind you one position but they got the rudest shock of their life when a 1000 or more Kenyan Youth showed up for the auditions.

The Co-operative Bank Group has recorded a profit before tax of Ksh 17.7 billion for full year 2016 compared to Kshs 15.4 billion recorded in 2015, a 15% growth.
Profit after tax for the Group was Kes 12.7 billion compared to Kshs 11.7 billion in the previous year, representing an 8.5% growth rate.
The good performance in a tough environment is mitigated by the gains from the bold “Soaring Eagle” Transformation Project that the bank has been implementing since 2014 with a clear focus on improvement in operating efficiencies, sales force effectiveness and innovative customer delivery platforms.

1.Profit and Loss
Total interest income grew by 15% from Kshs 42.3 billion on account of; interest income from government securities growth by 40% from Kshs 6.1 billion to Ksha 8.5 billion and interest income from loans and advances growth by 11% from Kshs 30 billion in 2015 to Kshs 33.4 billion in 2016.
Total interest expense reduced by 6% from Kshs 13.6 billion to Kshs 12.8 billion on account of lower cost of funding.
Total operating income grew by 16% from Kshs 36.4 billion to Kshs 42.3 billion.
2.Balance sheet
Total assets grew by Kshs 9.5 million (+3%) to Kshs 352 billion compared to Kshs 342.5 billion in the same period last year.
Net loan and advances book grew by Kshs 23.5 billion (+11%) to Ksh 236.9 billion compared to Kshs 213.4 billion in the same period last year.
Total deposits declined slightly by 2% from Kshs 268.8 billion to Kshs 263.6 billion.
Shareholders’ funds grew from Kshs 50.2 billion to Kshs 61.3 billion, an impressive growth of 22%, supported by the Board of Directors sustained policy to aggressively recapitalize the bank for regional expansion leveraging on retained earnings.
The level of capital enables the Group to double its balance sheet and also finance major corporate deals in the market.
3.Innovative Customer Delivery Platforms
A successful Universal Banking model and the implementation of sales force effectiveness has seen the Group serve 6.2 million account holders across all sectors supported by our multichannel strategy that includes 148 branches , over 8,000 Co-op Kwa Jirani Banking agents and over 580 ATMs.
Key focus on digital banking with the telco Mco-op Cash Mobile Walet has continued to play a pivotal role in growth of non-funded income with over 3,2 million customers.
Through our multi-channel strategy the bank has successfully moved 83% of the customer transactions to alternative delivery channels particularly mobile banking, ATMs, internet and Co-op Kwa Jirani banking agency outlets.
Co-op bank’s unique model of retail banking services through Sacco FOSAs enabled us provide wholesome financial services to over 555 FOSA outlets. The bank has currently issued over 992,000 Sacco line cards.
4.Regional expansion
Co-operative Bank of South Sudan that is a unique Joint Venture (JV) partnership with Government of South Sudan (Co-op Bank 51% and GOSS 49%) made a monetary loss of Kes 498.3 million in 2016 mainly attributed to hyperinflation accounting occasioned by currency devaluation.
5.Corporate Social Responsibility Program
Co-op Bank Foundation has provided scholarship for gifted but needy students from all regions of Kenya. The sponsorship includes; fully paid secondary education, full fees for university education, internships and career openings for beneficiaries. The foundation is fully funded by the bank and has so far supported 5,089 students since the inception of the program in 2007.
6.Accolades
The Group was recognized with two awards at the Banker Africa Awards 2016, as Most Socially Responsible Bank and Best Retail Bank in Kenya. Further, the Group was a big winner at the inaugural Kenya Bankers Association Sustainable Finance Catalyst Award 2016 where we were recognized as 1st in both commercial and MSME Case Studies and 2ns in the category of Best Practice of Sustainable Finance, emerging the 2nd Best overall in Sustainable Financing.
7.Dividend and Bonus shares
The Board of Directors has recommended for approval by the AGM payment of a dividend of Kshs 0.80 per every ordinary share held and also a bonus share issue of one (1) share for every five (5) shares held. The bonus share issue is subject to approval by the Capital Markets Authority.
The Co-operative Bank Group notes that the environment for doing banking business has become progressively challenging, most lately with the enactment of interest rate caps that have clearly slowed down economic growth. The Group will continue to leverage on the strong 6.2 miilion account-holder base, digital banking focus and multichannel access, the basket of innovative finance solutions, and efficient delivery of service to retain market position and deliver business growth and profitability.

On 1st May 2013, with fellow activists, I organized a protest against our MPs’ planned salary hike. It was at Uhuru Park, during the Labour Day celebrations. I was beaten and arrested in the presence of H.E Uhuru Kenyatta. Later, I was charged in court. Undeterred, 12 days later on 13th May, we organized a follow-up protest against the planned salary increment.
In what could be Kenya’s most famous protest in recent history, we delivered LIVE pigs to Parliament, as a symbol of MPs’ greed. The police responded: with teargas, water cannons, batons and arrests were made. Among the people who were tear-gassed and water-cannoned were Prof. Yash Pal Ghai and his wife. 17 of us were arrested on that day. Not a single politician condemned the violence. We were charged. Four years later, the case is still ongoing.
A month later we went back, to protest against the high salaries. In 2016, l announced l was going to run for MP. One of my calls to action was that we must reduce our elected officials’ salaries. Two weeks ago, l was interviewed alongside Salaries and Remuneration Commission – SRC Chair Serem, and said we must review salaries downwards. She agreed with me.
On Wednesday, during the State of The Nation address, President Uhuru said that elected officials’ salaries must be cut in half. Our activism on the streets, and online –in our homes and work places– has won. I shall continue with this fight inside parliament.

A few years ago Bahati opened up his doors to a little boy, Morgan, who he adopted as his own son. Since then, the two have been living as family and now that he added a ‘prayer partner’ now we can say Morgan has a mother.

Former radio queen Caroline Mutoko has offered interesting insight into President Uhuru Kenyatta’s recent tirade of verbal abuse.
Caroline discussed several things about the head of state while addressing her fans via her YouTube channel. She said the president wasn’t getting enough sleep.
“Maaan! I hope that man (Uhuru Kenyatta) gets some sleep and water…coz sometimes I watch him am like “you are not sleeping and you are not hydrated”…and this is scary but he is in his element and you can tell from the way the crowds are responding to him,” Caroline said.

She explained that Uhuru’s verbal diarrhea and anger outbursts had to do with genetics. The president recently lashed out at Mombasa and Turkana governors.
“And also some of the things he says…you notice that some of the things he’s saying are not coming out of here (points the gut) not here (points the brain)… si hapa (points the brain)… FROM THE GUT! And you know if you are younger Kenyan, that means you are probably somewhere between… I don’t know… 25-35, and you are listening to some of the stuff he say and you are shocked…. Flamboyant Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko has longed been referred to as an academic dwarf, but apparently this is not the case at all.
Jubilee is experiencing infightings as two factions have emerged to support candidates they want to fly the party’s flag in the race for Nairobi gubernatorial seat.
One faction (which mostly comprises of legislators from Mount Kenya region) is supporting Peter Kenneth while the other is rooting for Mike Sonko.
Sonko’s critics and haters, including powerful individuals within the government, have been peddling lies about him and using their influence to block him from getting certificate of good conduct.

The most popular lie Sonko’s detractors have been selling to the mass is about his qualifications; they argued that the Nairobi Senator had forged his academic certificates.
Sonko reacted by sharing copies of his original academic certificates and all other certificates needed to show he has the required credentials to vie for Nairobi gubernatorial seat.

Corporal punishment might have been banned in school but clearly the memo never made it to Mataara, a village in Gatundu North which is not so far from Uhuru’s home.
As narrated by Anishi Mwangi, a little 5 year old boy is bundled up in a hospital and this is after his female teacher did the despicable on him.
As a form of punishment (who even punishes a 5 year old) the teacher used a biro pen to press his private parts which in turn affected his normal body functions. As I write this, the boy can’t pass urine normally which has messed up his kidneys.
Actually, the hospital he’s in; St. Mulumba in Thika has recommended that they boy be taken to Kenyatta hospital for specialized treatment.

I want to share a sad story of a 5 years old boy who’s life might have been changed completely by his teacher…the boy is currently in hospital st mulumba in thika..His face and hands are swollen; he had to be operated on his private parts due to injuries caused by her female teacher at a school in Gatundu North..she used kifuniko ya pen kumfinya nayo .he couldn’t pass urine the first few days after the teacher caused those injuries and that made his kidneys get affected…now the doctors says he has to be transffered to Kenyatta hospital as it seems the kidneys are not getting better….what should be done to such teachers..to make it worse..teachers in that school are telling other pupils ati siku hizi wakiguzwa kidogo wanakimbishwa hospitali kutahilishwa..i feel for the mum also who doesnt even know how to start paying for the hospital bill.. school name Mataara primary .
Jeff Koinange has spoken to Ghafla about the rumour claiming that he is the sole reason why Janet Mbugua and some other journalists at citizen TV are calling it quits.
Judging from what was going round social media, apparently the fella was getting about 2 million Kenyan shillings yet he his show airs only once a week.
This was said to be the reason the others were willing to walk out however speaking to Ghafla this afternoon we have learnt that no one is leaving the station.
Jeff Koinange says that they are one happy family and the stories going round are nothing but propaganda.
He gave us his word saying that Janet and Hussein are still working with citizen TV, something that has left us wondering what exactly is going on at the media house.

The trio has today eulogized their brother who died mysteriously in 2015. Emmanuel passed away on 16th March 2015 while he was being rushed to Nsambya hospital after collapsing in Kabalagala at dejavu bar.
Chameleone, Weasel and Pallaso have expressed the pain they still feel for losing their kid brother at such a young age.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and Millie Odhiambo’s beef started last year on 20th December after the latter insulted Baba Ngina as opposition legislators tried to stop attempts by Jubilee MPs to make amendments to the election law.
Speaking at KICC ground a day after Mbita MP hurled a barrage of insults to him, Uhuru fired back and called Millie an idiot.

Y’all remember that time when Kawira’s husband pastor Ephantus Wahome came out to reveal all the struggles they were facing in their marriage.
Apparently he had a hard time making his wife toe the line as he was a hardliner who believed a woman’s place was in the kitchen and thus should be entirely submissive. Kawira on the other hand was from a different school of thought believing that women should be empowered and treated equally as men.
Of course with those kind of different analogies, there was bound to be war but they have fought their battles now are now good.
